Part 1 of the unifications.

Hey remember when I said I was planning to change some of the names when they were truly egregious? This is what I meant.

So we have (from left to right) Dragonfly, Viper Noir, Shadow Moth (they still call him Hawkmoth), and Ladybee.

Dragon-bug was a stupid name, I know they were saving Lady Dragon for Shanghai but that doesn't mean we give up all together guys. Dragonfly just makes more sense.

I know I'm not the first to say that the Ladybug Dragon unification was great. It's actually one of my favorites. It showed off how good the Ladybug, and by extension Marinette, could look if the artist put a tad more effort into her suit. I definitely deviated pretty far here, push the dragon elements, like giving her two horns. The big ones on the side of her head and the little ones that attach to her antennae. The boots, and tail elements which were super fun to draw. And finally drawing Mari with her hair down because it looked cool.

Viper Noir just to add a bit more spice to Snake Noir's name. I almost called him Black Mamba but wasn't entirely sold. So that's that. I didn't give Aspik or Viperion a hood because I was saving it for this, much more Chat's style than Aspik was. The cat ears on the hood were a pain to make look right but turned out cute. And now they both have gold accent's! look how matchy they are.

I am forever on the fence about if I like Shadow Moth's design but I can't really begrudge the name? It's alright- it certainly feels very Gabriel, a man who has a track record of bad naming skills. I figure most still call him Hawkmoth though. I actually designed both Shadow Moth and Hawkmoth at the same time, so the plan was to always add Peacok feathers to the head and the double tailcoat. I almost based him on an actual peacock butterfly but changed my mind.

Just know that the additional feathers are just as painful as the butterfly wings. And now there is more! Hooray! Hawkmoth suffers!

And Lady Bee, this one felt easier than I expected because I already had Honey Bee. I might go back and fix her eyes though, they’re a bit uncanny rn.

Shadow moth redesign. Shadow moth has one of the most disappointing designs in the whole series to me. He’s a villain, fashion designer, and is combining two of the flashiest creatures in the theme, a peacock and butterfly, yet his design barely changes at all. Ladybug got a lovely and different design when she got the bee miraculous and that was for less than a few minutes in a single episode. Shadow moth is supposed to be hawkmoths upgrade to make him more dangerous and powerful but that is not represented in his new look.

First off I gave him claws because peacocks have claws and they are more villainous than normal gloves. I lengthened his coat for more drama and gave it a butterfly shape with peacock designs. His shoes look like peacock feet and I gave him a dramatic peacock collar. I also added actual peacock colors since they fit naturally into the color scheme already.

It will always be extremely hilarious to me that French fans (and French-speaking fans) of Miraculous had it basically told to them at the start of the show that Gabriel was Hawkmoth/le Papillon. Why? Because “Agreste” is the French name for a Grayling Butterfly. Pretty much all of the characters’ last names (and some first names) have a tie to an important aspect of their character (Chloe Bourgeois being a glaringly obvious one), and them having one of the main leads (and thus his father) have a name of a butterfly is just too funny to me.

“A mysterious butterfly supervillain has appeared! Who could he possibly be??”

“Uh… maybe the guy literally named after a butterfly?”

“So mysterious!”

Gabriel Akumatizes a surgeon who lost a young child on the operating table. Asclepius is born, the great healer. For hours he walks the halls of the city's hospitals, curing everything and anything. Cancer, Alzheimer's, broken bones, all manner of ailments. Then, raising the child he'd lost. Raising others gone before their time. Until Hawkmoth issues the ultimatum. "Bring me Ladybug and Chat Noir's Miraculouses, or I will take your powers. Succeed, and you may keep them forever." A relatively short fight follows, for Asclepius is a healer, not a fighter. As Ladybug prepares to cast the cure, she's surrounded and accosted by tearful people. "Don't do it!" "I had cancer!" "I was dying!" "My son was dead, and he brought him back! You'll kill my son!" To their horror, she casts it anyway. As the ladybugs clear, everyone is still fine. "It's the Miracle Cure," she says, "not the Miracle Reset. It's intended to correct misuse of Miraculous magic by people with ill will or corrupted hearts. What we saw today was the closest thing to the correct, intended use of the butterfly in over 180 years." Later, Felix calls Gabriel, "Congratulations uncle, how's Aunt Emilie?" "What are you talking about!? You know exactly how she's doing! I was once again thwarted in my attempt to secure Ladybug and Chat Noir's Miraculouses." "I… you… you know your Akuma… like… raised the dead. Right?" "Yes? What of it?" "He… let's see, according to the news sites, he is known to have raised a child that he'd lost during an operation several hours earlier, raised a fully autopsied body, raised someone decapitated in a severe industrial accident, and even raised someone who had just been cremated." "So? The powers of the Miraculous are great, infinite, what is your point?!" Continuing this nonsense au

Marinette is best friends with Chloé (they're the mean girls)

She's the daughter of the most famous/expensive confectioners in all of Paris

She's a klepto and pick pockets the ladybug miraculous from Fu before he could give it to an appropriate holder

Her hero name is Lady Vermilion

She is the sole defence against Hawkmoth for a while and is perceived very positively by the public

Sabrina takes on Marinette's canon role and is constantly victimised by Chloé and Marinette

Que Alya's transfer to the class, her and Sabrina become fast friends and they bond over their mutual love for Lady Vermilion

Sabrina passes one of Fu's dumb tests and gets the black cat miraculous - becomes Calico

After Fu sees Alya help Calico while Lady Ver is down from an akuma attack, he gives her the dog miraculous

Alya becomes Huntara and Calico and her partner up!

(Fetch has a different ability, I don't know what yet, but it's something stronger. Maybe it's something like stealing distance between the user and targets the ball hit? Dunno lol)

After the akuma gets defeated, Lady Ver welcomes them to the hero business and tells them that one day, they might be as great as her if they try hard enough, because this time they definitely just got lucky

Lady Ver is fake nice to them in a condescending and belittling way, she's very angry and concerned that they might steal her spotlight

Alya and Sabrina are unaware of each others' secret identities because they don't know each other well enough to know if they're acting out of character or trying to cover for something but they will figure it out eventually

They do hero stuff, and Lady Ver usually steals the spotlight

She usually only appears for very dangerous akumas and lets Calico and Huntara deal with the small fries

Enter Adrien- dun dun dun!

He's also a mean girl™

Marinette still has a thing for him, but Adrien and Chloé are too oblivious to notice her advances and

Something something happens, Marinette gets the opportunity to snatch the bee miraculous from Fu

She gives it to Chloé and reveals her secret identity to her, believing that as a duo, they have better chances to rival the rising in popularity cat and dog duo

Chloé becomes Queen Frelon

Seeing the increasing amount of miraculous in play, Hawkmoth recruits his disgruntled estranged son and gives him the broken peacock miraculous (father of the year, ladies and gentlemen)

Adrien becomes Fanfare and almost immediately gets sick after detransforming

(He's probably not a senti-baby here...? Idk)

Fanfare eventually recruits Lady Vermillion and Queen Frelon from the shadows to start his own cause because there is no way that he's going to give the ladybug and black cat miraculous to his incompetent father

Queen Frelon and Lady Ver start openly sabotaging Calico and Huntara and try to set them up as fall guys for Fanfare's plan

Love square is Huntara/Alya->Calico->Alya<-Sabrina

Felix arrives and eliminates Hawkmoth/Gabriel with Adrien/Fanfare's help after figuring out their identities

Felix gets the butterfly and becomes Jaded Majesty

Lady Ver and Queen Frelon fully switch sides, and Lady Ver uses her influence to start portraying Huntara and Calico as villains, and the heroes become wanted criminals

The new actual villain team carefully craft a plan through which they will practically have full control over Paris

The goal is still to get the black cat from Calico, but their wish is now to heal Adrien

And yeah, that's as far as I have this au roughly outlined XD

A small idea for an AU that I had: Noroo uses his powers without Gabriel in a desperate attempt to create a champion that could save him and accidentally akumatizes half of Paris. Fu is one of the unfortunate victims but he manages to let the Kwami escape before he falls under the effects of the Butterfly Miraculous.

Now gangs of Akumas roam the city, some causing chaos, others want to achieve their goals no matter what (like Furious Fu, who wants to gain back the Miraculous to reshape the world in his image) and other ones, led by the so called Akuma Queen Princess Justice and her loyal knight Ephimeral, want to find and save Noroo no matter what.

In this chaos, some individuals find the Miraculous and start using them to achieve their goals, be it saving their family from akumatization (Luka), becoming famous (Chloe) or committing lots of crimes

This is an awesome idea for a dystopian adaptation of Miraculous Ladybug! Imagine the city suddenly being overrun by superpowered beings and monsters, and people randomly getting Miraculous while needing to fix everything while Master Fu is incapacitated. Having our main two possibly leading the charge in the city would also be amazing.

Imagine if the United Heroez saw this and sent their Miraculous users to help. We could get an unexpected team-up plus plenty of chances for original Miraculous users. Season one of this au could end with Furious Fu being defeated and he reveals to the Miraculous users who he is.

Plus, it gives a better chance for Gabriel to be found out. He might not be able to hide in his base for long due to the Akumas hunting him down. So, he might be on the run while making his own Akumas to try to get control of the situation if he can't control the ones Nooroo made.

You could even introduce characters like Kagami or Felix as people the Kwami found to be their wielders while on the run in their desperation.

To get it out of the way, I based his civilian design off of his initial concept art, its spooky and sterile and makes Gabriel look almost fake. Hawkmoth meanwhile...

This shows the first major change to how the shows magic system. If a miraculous is used for evil it will corrupt the transformation, turning the holder monstrous in exchange for the magic. So yes the wings are sprouting out of his head like a zombie in the last of us. Underneath his skin is twisted and scarred,

Character wise, Gabriel's motivation will stay the same up to a point. I liked when season 4 seemed to decide on making Gabriel pure evil, falling from having a sympathetic motive to caring more for revenge than his once noble intentions.

Gabriel starts out wanting to save Emelie, then Ladybug tells him during Heroes day what the wish will cost. Now apprehensive at the concept of destroying all of reality or sacrificing a life he and Mayura slow their attack to look for a way around it. But when nothing comes up she prompts him to give up his quest entirely. Only he refuses, instead doubling down and insisting that he already has a solution to the problem.

After all, bringing Emelie back only requires a sacrifice. They never said it had to be willing, and there's a red dressed heroine who he would love to see suffer.

Hawkmoth 😈🦋

I know hawkmoth neglects his son, is a dirty capitalist, and commits acts of domestic terrorism on the daily but in my personal opinion his biggest crime is being a super villain with a butterfly theme and a background in fashion and looking so incredibly BORING.

He has all the potential to serve looks and yet he wears the most boring uninspired suit with little to no reference to butterflies.

I took away the bald cap, added a ton of butterfly shapes, and just added a ton more detail in general.

I’m very happy with it, I think he still looks intimidating and full of bad intentions while actually having a butterfly theme.

I’m working on shadowmoth and monarch now. I might do a drawing of my redesigned hawkmoth and mayura together.
