Oh maybe this is unpopular? I dont really like that maki has a heavenly pact i think it would be better thematically if she just didnt have cursed energy with no benefit to it (plus its anime people can just catch bullets in midair like its nothing it doesnt really need an explanation you know?). So like it makes her that much more determined you know? Like shes completely normal so its not oh shes got gifts the zenin clan just doesnt accept them which feels kind of weird you know like? Thats not really the point? Like they should have accepted her even if she wasnt strong just in like a different way. Like its fine the way it is now i just think it would also be cool if it wasnt. Plus like idk tie it into all the overarching stuff with geto and yuki gdusgssjsk

Nanami is the studio head and he starts every day by looking at what his dancers are doing, pouring monster in his coffee and going 'I'm getting too old for this'

Satoru is the choreographer as well as having won multiple male soloist awards in the past. He is however most famous for his duets with Suguru that netted them a TON of awards. At some point however they both got called to accept a position in a more prestigious studio and Suguru accepted while Satoru did not, which caused a huge fight that made a lot of waves in the dance community. Everyone knows this. What everyone doesn't know is that same day Satoru sent like 30 'babe I miss you ;-;' texts at 4 am and now they are back together. Whenever they are seen together everyone starts hypothesizing about some inter studio rivalry but usually they are just like getting coffee. Also Satoru is like natural at all the styles.

Toji was the only dancer to ever take a soloist title under Satoru so everyone is like oooo there's gonna be drama :I!! when Megumi shows up at the studio but Satoru won the dance battle in the parking lot that immediately followed so he considers that settled.

Zenins are like a big name in the dance world as a very strict ballet family, anyway Toji steered straight into hip hop. He's out of the dance world now but that doesn't stop him in trying very hard to start a dance betting ring nobody else seems to be buying into.

Megumi himself is a ballet/hip hop fusion dancer and somehow ends up having tea on everyone because he just has that face that says 'vent to me'. He's not interested in the drama but drama keeps finding him.

Yuji is fucking crazy at lifts. He has enough strength to lift not only female but male dancers too and he has never ever dropped anyone. He makes everyone feel very safe when they are trying to do some crazy new lift uwu. He's however very bad at picking up choreography just by looking so he needs a lot more practice time then most of the dancers :I. He's a very kinetic learner.

Nobara like Satoru is dabbling in all styles, every single one. This is mostly because she wants as much chance as possible to be in as many routines as possible. Hell, put her straight at the center she'll do great. Nanami has to draw the line when she auditions for male solo and to this day she claims it was to spare the boys feelings when she grinded them into dust. She does preference hip hop tho.

Maki has basically been dropped from the Zenin family because she didn't fit their ideal image of a ballet dancer. She was too tall, too aggressive, too butch. This is why she made a beeline for another studio and vowed to win the female soloist by pure ballet. Officially regarded as the strongest female dancer in the studio (I'd say sorry Nobara but Nobara says it the most in the 'my girlfriend is better than all of you' tone).

Mai has been ushered into dancing by being more feminine then Maki but she doesn't really care for it. He real strength lies in composing music and she's working hard to compose the kind of ballet music that matches Maki's personality and style the best. They are both taking revenge in their own way.

Yuuta is probably the most prolific out of the kids, having started dancing very early and having won numerous awards already. He started dancing on the behest of his childhood friend Rika and they won their first competition together. After she died, Yuuta refused to do duets ever again. Generally considered the strongest male dancer in the studio.

Toge is an acro dancer and a lil monkey boy. He can do every fucking trick imaginable and will do it just to make a point. He's selectively mute so expressing himself through dance is a big thing.

Megumi, Yuji, Yuuta and Toge are the bro gang and while they are all smart in their own right they lose all braincells when put together. Their favorite past time is stacking on Yuji and seeing what can he do while carrying all three. Somehow no one died yet.

Megumi, Yuji and Nobara are almost a more disastrous combo tho. Megumi and Nobara got it in their heads that they will do a duet with male and female roles reversed for #InovativityPoints. This of course led to a question of can Nobara lift Megumi which lead to like half the dance squad walking in one day to Nobara trying to bench press Megumi to prove a point while Yuji spots them, ready to catch one or both of them when they inevitably fall.
