OK DELTARUNE CHAPTER 3 SPOILERS but i'm already coming up with uh..i guess it's a headcanon? ANYWAYS proceed with caution.

OK SO obviously, tenna & spamton do know each other in some capacity for sure. i still have no clue how but for some reason, spamton specifically (& i guess seam kind of too?) knows people from various other dark worlds.

from the vibes i get, i think they totally worked together during spamton's "big shot" era. & they were probably quite close (haven't decided if i like to think of it as a yaoiful thing or like. tenna being an older brother figure or something.) i imagine that tenna has a lot more experience with "fame" or whatever, especially in the past since CRTs like tenna are quite old, an idea that is addressed in game.

also, this is backed up by tenna saying someone (i assume spamton based on context) was going to teach him how newer technology works & he cried about not understanding emails LOL

BUT LIKE. taking all this into consideration, my personal headcanon (which i think is super cute :^)) is that tenna met spamton...somehow when he first started making it big & they sort of worked together! tenna would do the regular TV programs & shows & then spamton would appear in like...the TV ads :^) & i think tenna would probably have to teach spamton how to present on television & things like that since he's new to it &, in return, i think spamton promised to teach tenna about the newer tech in the cyber world. but tenna feels betrayed because spamton just sort of...disappeared. from his perspective, he probably had no idea about spamton being evicted & forced to live in the dumpster. so now tenna feels abandoned & confused by the sudden loss of his business partner. & i think he personifies his fear of abandonment as spamton because of this (like the "my biggest hater" thing in the susiezilla game.)

from spamton's point of view, he might feel betrayed (as we see from the way he talks about tenna in the sweepstakes) because tenna- much like the addisons- didn't really bother to help or look for spamton when he disappeared. he lost everyone all at once. tenna was one of the last people he had left since the addisons stopped talking to spamton when he first became successful. it explains the way he talks about mike too. (omg. this wasn't an original part of the theory but what if spamton feel like mike replaced him or he feels jealous of his dynamic with tenna or something :^O??? just an extra angsty cherry on top.) despite how irrational it is, since spamton never really made it clear what was going on with him & his "helper" on the phone, he still wishes somebody would've noticed & cared enough to help him out. maybe just subconsciously. i think he hides his feelings about it though anger & an unforgiving attitude towards the people he thought he could trust. ogufhfh

there's not a whole lot of merit to this, but a detail i noticed almost immediately was the tenna's suit has the same colors as spamton's during his big shot era! (as seen in this piece of fangamer merch, he is wearing a red suit with a yellow tie.) & i think this supports the idea that they were a duo at some point & i bet tenna (since he likes to live in the past) never changed his outfit. but omg imagine if they matched suits when they were working together ISN'T THAT SO CUUUUTE??? sorry i'm really normal about this.

In my mind palace todomatsu is a spiteful gayboy who's into fat guys. Idk how gay culture is in Japan but I can imagine fatphobia runs rampant similarly to how American gay men operate. There's being fat and then there's "gay fat" among skinny gay cruisers. Todomatsu doesn't know anything about this scene (but who's to say Atsushi doesn't?) but operates in a fatphobic society and has enough wherewithal (shame) to hide this fetish. This is based on his actual kink with belly buttons coupled with the weird incestuous sumo camp skit in s3 where todomatsu is undeniably horny about those sumo wrestlers. I'm sure you could interpret it as a different reaction but ultimately the joke of that skit was that he was a raging sissy who didn't wanna conventionally engage with a tradition that is seen as an exclusively masculine ritual. But i digress.

There have been enough scenes where, if todomatsu is given attention, particularly in a comedic light, it's to be the butt of a homophobic/misogynistic/transmisogynistic joke. However, it's real. It's a consistent theme exclusive to his character, separate of any of the others. He's scared of marrying and settling with kids maybe the most of any of them. If we can assume that he genuinely likes his gender nonconformity on some level beyond the home theater improv the brothers perform, that there is a conflict.

If, let's say, the lattice of coincidence connecting society manages to introduce you to someone new who's giving you relatively positive attention in all the right ways that feel real in the way that's Just Yours Alone like the other stuff. The other stuff that flagged you to receive positive attention from a normal guy who just so happens to be bigger. Who just so happens to have better living conditions, with hobbies and friends. There's conflict in an acquaintanceship that gives you everything you want, like a path of least resistance that gels well with your depressed dopamine seeking brain and your terrible terrible terrible impulse control.

Danger lurks in the abyss between stranger normie kinda lame acquaintance to friend with complex thoughts and feelings that are achingly familiar without ever really being spoken on pipeline. Reacting to the positive attention positively means you have bypassed the first checkpoint (does this twink on the brink of twink death fuck with fatties?). You went from envying what you don't have, to basking in what was thrown at you like a dog living off treats, to then having to face the consequences of your terrible impulsive usual intoxicated actions. accepting something as real means having to care about it in a way you aren't familiar with needing to do.

Real is filling in blanks that contradict your highly specific narrative that exists only in your head because you plotted out your life, sick of being an NPC in your own life. Except now it's out of your control and has consequences like taking away the free dopamine machine. Maybe that's when love eclipses fun?

🤪: What is a trait that fanon would exaggerate? // I say this lovingly because I do this myself; Anthelme is exceedingly French (or the Witcher's equivalent of it) and that's the trait people would magnify most. The answer I default to is Es/kel, like at-one-point father like son, but thinking on it more there's not much there, and he's nothing like his brother really...Perhaps Dandelion. He's also keeping up a front, not quite in the same way but similarly, and is very open with some things to hide other things. Also, similarly fruity.

🪐: What would be the most popular AU and why? // Definitely Baron AU. Everyone loves royalty x knight. The long and the short of the au is Anthelme stayed in Toussaint when he ran from the school (which is something that happens in canon, just in canon he Goes Back), and due to being older than his brother, despite being adopted, He becomes the baron of Launfal instead of Palmerin.

💌: How would their dynamic be portrayed? What might people focus on most? Any misconceptions? // I'm gonna focus on the misconceptions here because there's one really obvious one. Lam/bert is an alcoholic. Anthelme is also a bit alcoholic, but on the 'enjoys too much when he does drink to get drunk' side instead of 'drinks to get drunk Constantly' side. His having a glass of wine every morning would be interpreted as 'he gets drunk every morning', and the ship would probably be labelled problematic because 'they feed into each other's alcoholism problems'. Which is objectively untrue. It'd also get labelled problematic both due to the Wolf boys constantly referring to and seeing each other as brothers (despite Anthelme clearly being isolated from that whole thing, but still being close, when you meet him in game G/eralt wouldn't refer to him as 'brother' and neither would anyone else in the school), and because At One Point Way In The Past, Anthelme saw Es/kel as his father, for obvious reasons (Anthelme being like seven or eight at the time latching onto the person he'd been given to because he's honestly quite used to changing out fathers, backstory thing, but as he grew older it definitely changed into a 'you are a good friend' type relationship, and him seeing Es/kel as a father was pretty fucked anyways because, again, Anthelme was given as a reward for work, he wasn't adopted nor did Es/kel find him and decide to take him on, it was a panic inducing payment that ended in Anthelme being taken to the school because what the fuck else is this 20-something supposed to do with a fucking child), so it'd be like. "oh shipping them is like shipping an uncle and his nephew and also shipping brothers because-" and it's giving me a headache thinking about it. It'd be portrayed in a yaoiful fashion because they do canonically try to eat each other if they're drunk enough and it's also a very 'nobody knows you like I do' type relationship. People would either focus on the cannibalism or the drinking.
