You decided to listen to the angel on your shoulder rather than the devil and you headed up to her office.

She was waiting for you, seated on the front of her desk with her arms folded over her chest, "Dr. Rogers."

You roll your eyes as you close the door, annoyed by her fake formality. You turn on your heels and offer her the same in return, "Principal Weems."

You see her jaw shift back and forth as she tried to read you. Her next words shocked you, "I'm sorry, Fern. Last night, I said some really hurtful things an-"

You didn't want to hear it. You still wanted to fight an you still wanted to be angry, "Yes, you called me ineffective and naïve. You insulted my teaching style when I am a damn good teacher."

"That's not what I meant and you know that." Larissa spat back. If you wanted to yell and get angry, she could certainly match your energy. You begin walking towards her, the anger rising in you.

"Do tell what you really meant, Principal Weems. I'd love to hear your perspective on managing a classroom of various outcast children. Oh, wait. You only have three years classroom experience from 15 years ago! What would you know?" You wanted to shove the words back in your mouth as soon as you said them. That was crossing the line and you knew it.

"You little..." Larissa moves off her desk and stands over you. You sometimes forget that she is over a foot taller than you. Her breath is ragged and her hands rested on her hips. You could tell that she was struggling to find the words, "Watch it."

"What are you going to do?" Again you wondered why you couldn't just keep your mouth shut.

"You are driving me absolutely mad." Her tone was different. She was making you nervous. Larissa's looming presence was unrelenting and your mind began to wander. Her dominating presence and heaving chest was reminding you of all the unspeakable things she could do to you. Her hand came up to your throat and you felt yourself involuntarily lean into her grasp, "I simply don't know where you get the audacity to speak to me like that."

You lick your lips, searching for the right words. Was it time to apologize? You felt you anger lower from a boil to a simmer, but you were having trouble reading Larissa.

"Fern Rogers. I swear... Never in my life have I had a teacher speak to me like this before." The grip on your throat tightened and she used her thumb to raise you chin so you would be forced to look at her. You felt like a deer in the headlights. It was similar to the nervousness you felt when you first started seeing each other.

The words spill from your mouth, "I'm sorry."

"What?"

"Larissa, I'm sorry. I just got so mad and then I said some things that weren't right. I just-"

"Fern..."

"I know. It wasn't right for me to say you are inexperienced. You are a deeply talented educator and I-"

"Fern..."

"Let me finish, I just think-"

"Fern, I need you to be quiet because I'm going to kiss you now."

You cock your head, face filled with confusion as Larissa's lips crash against yours. Her hand moves away from your neck so it can cup your face. She was the one to deepen the kiss, her arm wrapping around your waist to pull you closer.

When she pulled away, your lips chased hers, seeking more. Larissa's voice was sickly sweet, "We are going home where I can fuck your brains out and we are never going to speak to one another like this again."

yes!! it's Davenport-centric. the basic idea started what I put on the tags of this post just now— like, there is no way barry and lup could have made these belts with only the intention of fucking up greg grimaldis. bc i think that was part of their goal, but it might have started as "wouldn't it be funny?" and turned into "wait, shit, this might actually be helpful."

my hc about story and song is that part of the reason it worked is not only bc the Faerûn planar system heard it, but every single plane the hunger consumed also heard it. the original plane the hunger started on had the same mindset as john, sure, but just being amassed into this bigger being doesn't mean your world has given up hope. they just needed that extra nudge to fight back.

and because of this, the twosun plane also heard story and song. so not only are lup and barry trying to reach out to that world, but the world is trying to reach out to them. the goal originally, i think, was just that davenport deserved to get a Fucking Raise, thank you. but now it's just...

there is so much life unexplored there. I'm still trying to figure out how time passed when a plane is inside the hunger, bc time standing still doesn't feel powerful enough, but i love exploring the dynamics within lucretia's and magnus's family originally, and 100 years plus some is a little too long for those family members to still be around.

im thinking more like— extended living? it was shitty inside the hunger, but they also just kinda stopped aging. or aged very, very slow. idk! it's a work in progress for a reason sldfsdf

but the main points are 1) reexploring the lost time between family/freinds they left behind 2) rounding out dav's character a little more and 3) just like... the healing between the crew. some of them have people to go back to. some of them don't. i really wanna flesh out part of why the stolen century was so hard and that's just because they truly didn't know what was happening once a planar system joined the hunger. but now they have the chance to know!

Thank you for this amazing update it was so so good. I will probably end up sending multiple asks (apologies in advance) because there is so much to process. This was such an amazing chapter! Your ability to capture these strong emotions and display what I feel is accurate characterizations is truly captivating. I've been so pumped for this chapter and I was just so blown away by it.

God first off Impulse. IMPULSE!!! My man literally carried Tango to a safe place, helped the ranchers feel safe, and just went full Dad mode. I flipped when he went full demon mode after finding out what happened to Tango. Man was ready to enter Hels and destroy Hels Tek block by block.

Jimmy getting hints about Watcher stuff as well was *chef kisses*. Kinda curious can Martyn and Scott hear what the Watchers are saying to Jimmy? Martyn seemed to step in just when they were getting extra hurtful.

God you fed us with Ranchers too. I was so happy that Tango may slowly be starting to get that he is loved. The way Jimmy didn't back down. uggggg perfection

Also Tango associating quartz with Hels was so painful. My man went through every trauma response this chapter and probably will still hit like 30 more.

Small questions you might not be able to answer yet but will ask anyways. When Tango went through the portal, is it still open on Double Life or did Jimmy get in at the last second? If Tango did break the portal would he or Bravo be able to get back to the rest of the universe? You mentioned that Bravo's sense of superiority shows up differently in Tango, is that Tango enjoys watching other suffers. That he enjoys the power it gives him or is that more of a trauma response due to strong need to be in control and by killing others he feels like he is strong enough to protect himself? Or I guess a combo of both hahaha. Ummmm last question for now can I like stab Atlas for like everything? Especially the collar? That cool ya awesome I'm gunna assume that's a yes

as for ur other question, it’s def a bit of both. tango’s always had a bit of sadism in him as an amplification of bravo’s superiority complex. one of his favorite pastimes pre-hels tek was to set traps outside of the cities and wait for players to stumble into them and perish terribly, while he watched with delight. but after hels tek, he fixated more on mob farms as a way of trying to reclaim that trauma, while ALSO being a more socially-acceptable way to scratch that itch.

and last but not least, u can TRY to stab atlas but ur gonna have to wait at the end of a very long line.

I was thinking that your take on my lucerys survives the dance AU was perfect!! giving u full permission to play with it in ur mind as you'd like bc i wont probably write anything like a fic about it. (i might be here to give ideas if need be) although, may i suggest, bc i like the title "sea dragon" lucerys changing the house banner of velaryon from a seahorse to a seadragon. (the pic i put) velaryons now being the second house of westeros to ride dragons with luke and rhaena having both targaryen blood (targaryen heirs for it too in the future) also since now rhaenyra won the crown westeros is gonna shape into a much more progressive realm, with women having more rights than before and such. so itd be most logical for luke and rhaena to make lil changes in driftmark, make it better perhaps. also id imagine rhaena being sick of lucemond and its shit, wanting them to act on their impulses already. but she is a faithful companion and friend to luke so she stays silent. id also imagine rhaena and luke being a power couple, though not having romantic interests in each other theyd still do their duty and have kids

The idea that House Velaryon's sigil changes once Lucerys fully steps into his own as Lord of the Tides is brilliant. Even better if he wasn't even the one to come up with it - if it was something Corlys commissioned / created to honour his grandson taking over. It'd have so much more meaning then, and Lucerys would be so incredibly touched by the gesture and unspoken show of faith and love from his grandsire.

And yes yes yes to Lucerys and Rhaena getting married and being a platonic power couple. They have heirs, as duty demands, but while there's deep affection between them, they're not in love with each other. Rhaena would definitely be the one to quietly encourage lucemond to come to fruition once she figured out that they'd probably be good for each other.

Lucerys wouldn't be able to hide his desires from her, and Rhaena's only ever wanted her bestie to be happy. She'd eventually be the one to push Lucerys to think about what he actually felt for Aemond, and she would support whatever decision he'd make.

And purely from a plot perspective, the implications of Lucerys and Rhaena's marriage and close relationship (plus babies once they happen) would be so interesting to explore from Aemond's point of view. I foresee a lot of friction in that space, and with Aemond misunderstanding Rhaena's subtle hints of "you can totally fool around with my husband if you want", there's the potential for so much frustration and angst.

3. “We’re on the third floor, pendejo.”

7. “I have a loose idea but I’d rather enjoy breakfast right now. What are you making?”

“Huevos rancheros.”

She snorted and covered her mouth. “I’m sorry, say that again for me please?”

“Huevos rancheros?” He repeated, this time a bit confused.

“God, you’re cute but boy do you know how to butcher some Spanish. It’s huevos rancheros not huevos rancheros.”

“Is that not what I said?” He asked, still lost on what the difference was in how she said it versus how he did or how he had said it incorrectly.

There was static on the other end for a long while before Celia sighed, “If you want something done, you have to do it yourself. Okay. Sit tight and try not to cause any more trouble than you already have.” She hung up the phone and left him to his lonesome.

“If something should happen..” Max let out a light chuckle. “You're the co-leader, use your wit and I’ll see you on the other side. Take that however you’d like,” He gave a dog whistle for Ayden to come to his becking, walking off down the hallway opposite to them.

“‘Take that however you’d like’,” Celia mocked before angrily spewing off a slew of Spanish curses.

“He didn’t mean it like that,” Summer said, jumping to Max’s defence for once.

“Oh whatever. You’re on his side because the barrel isn’t pointed at you. Let’s just look through the stupid fucking rooms.”

I AM STARING SO INTENTLY RN!!!

GOOODDD THIS ISSUE WAS SO INTERESTING. how after the sisters were separated and plumstripe just stared at the wall, i wonder if she’s beginning to regret lashing out like that? or if it could have gone differently? it definitely didn’t seem like she planned to fight beeface, just a spur of the moment sorta deal that was caused by bee edging her on, which in turn was caused by her edging bee on.

also, the redpelt content??? i hadn’t really thought about her in the comic much but oh my god. she’s so gentle. i completely understand how she felt when the fighting happened, just completely freezing up and struggling to process what is happening because it was so sudden, too quick, too different from just a second ago- but i could just be seeing it differently than what was intended, haha. when she was rambling off to cootstorm i was begging for that old lady to comfort her in some way but i completely understand why she didn’t, that’s just not her personality. she’s a realist i think, focused on what has to be done and what has been done. she’s right, redpelt isn’t ready for leadership, and i somewhat doubt she’d ever be if she doesn’t get some kind of help, but it doesn’t seem therapy or anything exists in barrenclan that could help. it makes me wonder why mallowstar chose her as deputy when she wasn’t mentally or emotionally ready for those responsibilities weighing her down? may have found a new fav, oops

Plumstripe definitely wasn't planning to attack Beeface, but her fighting ability insult hit a nerve. Plumstripe considers herself to be the best fighter in the Clan, and she's very proud of that.

I've been neglecting Redpelt too much, I really wanted to get some focus on her. Poor gal. I looked at some videos of cats fighting for reference in this issue; it happens so much faster than anything in Warriors makes it seem, which is true of most fights in general. And Redpelt isn't the kind of take-charge person to instinctively throw herself in the middle of a fight, she's too much of an overthinker. Mallowstar sees a lot of potential in her, and he really wants to help her come out of her shell and show her that she can take charge and use all her smarts and empathy! But Redpelt doesn't believe in herself too much. :( Cootstorm doesn't have a lot of sympathy for her worries, unfortunately.

YES Cormorantpaw saying bye first was really important to me!! It's not much but a little first step is huge for him, especially because the environment he grew up in was emotionally as well as physically dangerous. He had to be on guard a lot. Pinepaw wants to break through his walls, but he's willing to take it at a pace Cormorantpaw is comfortable with, and that means a lot to Cormorant (more than he really realizes!).

IN HONOR OF FACE DROPPING TONIGHT I AM POSTING MY ANSWER

i was actually talking to @eoieopda recently about how i feel bad sometimes about having jimin as my bias because i think hyung line always needs more credit than they get, and i don't want the assumption to be made about me that i don't love and appreciate EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE MEN. i'm not gonna get too deep into that conversation, but it basically came down to "you could write essays on jimin." and i CAN. and SO I SHALL!!!!!!

jimin is the love of my life. in this essay, i will- tell you why.

i'll start easy. surface-level. have you seen him dance? idk. idk idk idk, he just puts me into a fucking trance every time. that black swan solo in mots on:e brings a tear to thine eye. he is the swan, that song is one of his biggest fears. he's got "youth" and "young forever" tattooed on him. you can age out of dancing very quickly if you're not careful. I'M ALREADY DIGRESSING OKAY ANYWAY. he has not let his background in contemporary dance hold him back in any way when becoming an idol. in fact, he's made a point of making his background his strength. hip-hop, but make it ~pretty~.

*ahem* jimin has been defying gender stereotypes since day one. 🗣️ yes, he felt pressured to express his gender identity in a hypermasculine way because that’s how bts was presenting at the time. and he was trying SO hard. but even outside of that, he was always going against stupid ideas of gender. i always think of that moment in bon voyage 1 (i think?) when the members were saying that men don’t check their selfies. and jimin was like, “there you go again. what on earth is masculinity?”  i feel like we can attribute A LOT of bts’s transformation from the school trilogy to every era afterward to jimin’s presence in the group. he’s been there the whole time telling the members to challenge their views of what it means to be a man. they support each other, so when jimin wanted to express himself in a more authentic way, they encouraged him. they also learn from each other, so when they saw jimin leaning into that blend of the masculine and the feminine, they saw that they could do the same because it’s all fucking arbitrary. jimin still identifies as male. wearing the color pink and jewelry and makeup and openly showing affection don’t take away from that.

AND THAT’S WHY JIMIN’S VOICE IS SO FUCKING INTEGRAL TO THIS GROUP. oh my god dude. the range that he fucking has? and the majority of the time he chooses to sing in his upper register and falsetto? who the FUCK ELSE is doing that? not your fave, i’ll tell you that much.

jimin provides a level of comfort that i aspire to (and we should all aspire to). the members are all close and have individual relationships with each other, of COURSE. but jimin just seems to make each member feel uniquely special to him in their presence. i don’t know how else to word that. i truly think he is the glue that keeps bts together (not that i think they would disband without him or anything). but he's a libra (with a cancer rising). libras are mediators. libra prioritizes harmony, and cancer prioritizes comfort. and then his gemini moon, which prioritizes connection and communication. so i would imagine that the members just naturally gravitate to him for that kind of comfort and connection. AND THEN HE ENDLESSLY GIVES THAT SAME AMOUNT OF COMFORT TO MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF PEOPLE ALL THE TIME LIKE HOW??????

and then OH AND THEN he's just the funniest person alive easily like he's just so silly and light-hearted and how does one person just contain so many multitudes you know? there are so many sides to him (dare i say... faces). and i don't need to get into all the ways that i specifically relate to him because i think so many of us do. but i'm just so happy for him as he continues to understand himself and exhibit more sides to himself and HE IS THE LOVE OF MY FUCKING LIFE OKAY YOU CAN TELL THAT I RAN DRY HERE AT THE END BUT I JUST CAN'T PUT IT INTO WORDS ANYMORE PARK JIMIN I LOVE YOU

standard theme: do you never laugh, miss eyre? by dario marianelli. i always tend to associate amelia with strings - there's something so profoundly sorrowful and emotional about string music; heavy without being too heavy, light without being too vapid. there is a weight to this short piece of music, there is sorrow, yes; always sorrow. amelia is, at her core, a woman who is marked for it across many, many lives and timelines. but there is also beauty and warmth in this piece - and despite this sorrow, despite the pain the character suffers, amelia endeavours to stay soft and kind despite it - and i can hear that pain and that softness in this music. the brief bit of intensity in the crescendo, the quiet end, the quiet beginning - it's perfect.

battle theme: we all complete by rachel portman. it's very difficult to give her a battle theme when she isn't really a character for battle and is not a fighter by any means (even her boss battle she very rarely approaches booker except to scream at him which. real.) and i do want to reflect that in this - amelia's version of battling is very much using her words. it's all she has: her truth, her words, her voice. this is a very thematic piece with more strings that starts off strong and powerful; petering out into quiet contemplation which i feel suits her choices and thought process as she prepares for what may come and how she wishes to maneuver.

boss battle theme: lacrimosa by mozart. i don't care that this is canon and i am being lazy. it is quite literally her elden ring boss battle theme. she sings it. i've talked about dies irae with meg on this blog before - it's not so much about the backing as it is the lyrics in lacrimosa that she warps. amelia sings an abridged version of lacrimosa that strongly implies even as an undead lazarus figure she is weeping for the sins of her daughter and husband; and argues to god that elizabeth, at least, is worth forgiving. in addition, she also entreats elizabeth in these stanzas to spare her husband from god's wrath. it's a very interesting thing to examine especially within the narrative context of amelia representing caritas as a whole.

emotion theme: i think of you all the time by rachel portman. there is a stillness in this, a sadness too. it's a slow build up to an aching crescendo that seems to speak of heartbreak and understanding, of sorrow. narratively i think it's a perfect music accompaniment that ties in with amelia's story, status, and all that she is and represents. it's pensive, it's that perfect period drama piece for the heroine in a tragic story - and the way the music swells with hope before dropping entirely into something so pensive, foreboding, continuing to crescendo and build that tension up and up until it seems unbearable - it's perfect for her arc within the narrative of the game - it's a song and piece that i associate with her a lot as she goes through the motion and emotions within infinite.

i love that jihyo was justifying literally everything positive she did with jeongyeon by tying it back into remembering how to do it with nayeon, it was too cute!! and she's learning that just cause its not nayeon doesn't mean its BAD...it's just different and thats ok!!

the thing with puppy jihyo is that nayeon is all of the good that she knows. like, she has been abandoned before so putting on trust and liking someone can be hard. she likes sana because sana pets and spoils her, she likes momo because momo is always bonding with her through cooking for her, playing with her and all that. mina is pretty straightforward, a hybrid friend. now, yoo jeongyeon? yoo jeongyeon has been annoying since day 1, and then jihyo got jealous of her with nayeon.

so trusting jeongyeon was a bit hard, getting to like her as well. but now jihyo just holds herself back really because she already likes jeongyeon a LOT and just hasn't realized it yet (perhaps she has and now she's just ignoring it like the stubborn puppy she can be)... i mean she loves jeongyeon's cuddles, her food, giving her kisses on the cheek and specifically being spoiled by her. jihyo LOVES the amount of praise she gets with jeongyeon.

and at some point though jihyo stops comparing her with nayeon bc we know nayeon is jihyo's definition of love and good but jeongyeon is perfect on her own.. jeongyeon is not like sana or momo or mina and certainly not like nayeon, and jihyo still finds herself seeking for jeongyeon's attention and the love she offers while nayeon isn't there to give it to her (properly)... and then, even after nayeon comes back jihyo will keep seeking for it because her heart is happy when she's next to jeongyeon 🥺

and sometimes when nayeon gets jealous of jihyo's sudden closeness with jeong, jeongyeon will just make her cuddle her too and quit sulking. she has two arms for a reason!!! one for jihyo and the other for nayeon!

anyways, great things are ahead of them and i can't wait to see the three together 🥺 when i open requests they'll most likely be established so i'm interested to see what you guys will want to see from them!
