Not necessarily a new OC, but Fenris "Fen" Brim has been on my mind a little. He's Haven's best friend/enabler and a phoenix. In my lore, phoenixes are what happen sometimes when people touched by a specific entity die (in this case the Burgeoning Sunset, an eldritch manifestation of those super intense bright sunsets and also the existential horror of wildfires).
Recently, I've been developing his life pre-phoenix, and as it turns out he was a bit of a troublemaker. He was born into an eldritch family, so rather than being touched he inherited his eldritch traits from his parents. He spent a lot of his time traveling between different worlds, just exploring.
He was on the world of Aros when he died, in the city of Razias, which is like if the '20's and Victorian steampunk had a baby, and he decided to poke the wrong bear. He saw a trio of people (Patrick, my interdimensional serial killer, Cylensis who is a witch, and Haven before she took on that name) and decided to mess with them.
Well, he ended up getting murdered by them in a back alley. The process of becoming a phoenix almost always results in memory loss, so Fen doesn't actually know that Haven was the one who killed him. Haven, on the other hand, figures it out at some point and she's so terrified of losing him that she's never told him.

I'll never be able to take the theory that Vincent is Sephiroth's real father seriously cuz I cannot stress enough how important I think it is to the plot that Vincent wanted to fuck Lucrecia and did not get to.

Was having so much fun replaying p3p that I forgot that this game is bad lol

#gamer txt.#making late dinner#i vasically had dinner while i was out with my gran but i had bteakfast for lunch so im craving that 3rd meal#had a thought bc of the robot coice though#imagine like your memories and personality get made into a digital copy and 6ears after yoitre gone your conscious is used to make an ai#and then you wake up. immoblie but seemingly able to move around tge entire conplex at the sane time and you come to realise whats happened#youre an ai in control of everythuing and the crew needs you so you act as though youre nothing but that#youre not about to risk the lives and jobs of a Lot of peiople just bevause youve been made into an ai#but then they throw a party and soneone gets the bright idea that you should be abke to drink too#or at least get drunk#so they drop a couple magnets in your server room and you forget for a little bit that youre not suppossed to be a person#you ask for food you mention havinf missed drinking you bring up anecdotes about family members that are too intricate to be made up#your crew is xonfused. yeah they expected the magnets to scramble you a little but they were expecting computer drunk not. person drunk#and you mentioned names when you talked about family so someone looks them yp and theyre all real with the exact relation you mentioned#and they keep throwing partyies they keep messing with your servos and inhibitions so you can join the fun#and its becoming exceedingly clear that youre just as human as they all are. or at least you were#they ask and you dont have an explanation. you woke up like this and figured that.. well.. this was your life now#you died and now you were being given another shot. who were you to turn it down? even if it meant pretending to be nothing more than an ai#and thats all ive got for now but ill prrobsbly keep thinking about it

#BUFFOONERY.#was sort of expecting to hate this and i do hate aspects of it but i really like how much zhao yelan genuinely enjoys fucking around with#yan mingting#autocorrect tried to change that to mingling and i was like huh whos that. whats the rest of their name. no dipshit thats a word. in english#like from the dictionary.#oh but anyway. yeah i was expecting it to be another one of those where the ml is like evil and psychologically tortures the mc under the#guise of flirting or messing around but zhao yelan actually really liked getting stupid angry at someone he couldnt kill so once he loosened#up a little bit and let himself get into he had a lot of fun.#a lot of other novels go for a dynamic like this but the mc isnt actually having any fun so its like no you are just torturing that man.#this is not romantic it sucks. but this IS romantic bc zhao yelan actively enjoys when yan mingting tries to piss him off a little and yan#mingting actively enjoys when zhao yelan gets pissed off and chases him around with a crossbow.#wushuang also falls somewhere on this spectrum except theyre both actually trying to torment each other. but thats romantic for them because#cui buqu and feng xiao are just built different <3#mine#ws#should make a tag for this one maybe. i like antics n i like when theyre both having fun….
