Moffat and Gatiss just didn’t like Johnlock as a romance because they based their version of them off themselves. They said as such multiple times in interviews. It isn’t really much deeper than that.

Oh that's fair enough. I'm not a big BBC Sherlock fan I just found it funny that Moffat was writing both at the same time and it was just intended as a lighthearted joke. I never knew based Sherlock and John off their own friendship that's almost kindve sweet.
