Hi so I only realized I misread this ask after I had finished these doodles. So um, slightly related but still on topic doodles of Clover with glasses saga.

As for the moment they realized, I imagine it was a lot of Clover bumping into very obvious things. Starlo watched Clover walk straight into the saloon doors for the third time that day and was like yeah. We need to get your eyes checked.

Here's a fun twist: one of those mer aus where one half of the ship is a mer in some form of confinement and the other is a human scientist / zoo-goer or whatever peering at them from behind the glass— but now flip it.

tbh i do get a little bothered by the notion that tim took the first shot he had to drop out of school because he hated school and didnt wanna do it and all of that bc i feel like it ignores the probably very important context that he dropped out after his dad (as well as steph-or at least, he was led to believe, in the same week) died, also he was in a school shooting. He did attempt to go to a school in bludhaven but the kids there were so wildly insensitive about the shooting that tim dropped out under the pretense of his "uncle" homeschooling him. In his oyl era, he /did/ go back to school, and it provided him some form of normalcy. Tim was a normal kid, he wasnt crazy about school but he still went to school and it helped him feel like a normal kid, something he desperately clung to. He only dropped out again to do his Brucequest, in an era where he was notably Not Doing Well (which. Yeah. he wasnt doing well bc he was like 17 and almost everyone in his support system was dead, he recently had hits put out on him, got blown up, and backstabbed by his not-dead-ex, he couldnt support his theory that bruce was alive and was extremely stressed about that, and he didnt know wtf he was doing. I love him btw.) Basically tim dropping out of school was a signifier that he wasnt doing well and he was giving up on the normality that he tried to cling to and im a bit of a nitpicky person who gets irked by minor things

This episode along with accompanying "little buggys big adventure" were honestly pretty fundamental when it came to me falling for him fully

During my first watchthrough i actually skipped it. My wife said "do you want filler thats dedicated to buggy the clown" and i said "NO i hate that guy!!" But truthfully i was just worried that if i saw more of him id like him and i was trying to avoid him at all costs. (And i was right cuz the moment i couldnt avoid him anymore i tripped and fell into his arms fjgkhk)

Impel down/marineford are what started it. Marineford was what really got me to love him. But going back and watching little Buggy's big adventure (and the next ep) and seeing how hard he tried to find his crew, seeing him make a new friend, seeing his joy when he found his ship and his men, seeing how much he cares... and seeing how his crew loves him in return.

How could i not absolutely adore him after all that 😖

He was just so happy to reunite with his crew and be their badass captain again. And he really does care about them. Proof he has somewhat of a heart
