tw// slllllightly suggestive for the point of comedy, rintaro being goofy, children arguing lol
——
Akito, Kaiya, and the terror twins haven’t touched one dish in forty minutes.
There’s a lot of fighting happening in the kitchen, about who’s going to scrub and who’s going to load the dish washer, and from your twins, who’s going to wash their hands first.
Akito, at the ripe age of 15, is having absolutely nothing to do with Kaiya’s scrubbing, complaining it’s not “good enough.” Kaiya reminds him that she does not care.
Rintaro knows you’re tired. Exhausted even, the kids have all been at each other’s throats all week, and he watches your eyes flutter shut to try and block out the arguing, only to open and finish packing the leftovers, trying to be strong and let them figure it out for themselves.
Your shoulders start to shake from anxiety, hands stalling, and Rintaro feels his heart breaking.
He’s got to step in, be a firm dad, even if his kids don’t always take him seriously.
“Alright, enough,” Rintaro growls, making his way over to the four kids in the kitchen. You turn to face him too, a brow quirked in wonder for his new attitude. “Listen to me; your mother threw her back into dinner, I did all your laundry, and now you want to whine about dishes? We all help with chores, tonight is no different. What is the hold up? Why the fighting?”
“Wouldn’t have to if Kaiya knew how to scrub the dish before passing it to me!” Akito hisses.
“Does the dishwasher not do that for me!” She grumbles.
“Sachie pushed me out of the way of the sink!” Sachiko whines.
“She usin’ all the soap!” Sachie complains.
“Okay, that’s it!” Rintaro bites. The room goes quiet. You stop putting away left overs and turn to face him, a smirk slowly growing. His eyes look to yours, and he watches your teeth sink into your lip at his display of authority.
God, how he loves that look on you.
…..an idea pops in his head.
“From now on, you all want to give me attitude and fight with me on chores? I’m flirting with mom in front of you.”
“WHAT?”
There’s a chorus of confusion that breaks out over the kitchen, Akito pulling a face of disgust while Kaiya groans in disbelief. “That’s right,” Rintaro continues. “You want to whine about doing dishes, or cleaning your rooms, or folding your laundry, I’m going to hit on mom!” His head turns to you, a smirk in his features, “hey there, sugar.”
You start to giggle nervously, warmth spreading over your face as your hands come up to hide it, “rinnie!”
“God, you’re so pretty,” he rasps, and in the background, Kaiya wails in agony. “How’s about you and I uh… get to know each other-“
“Oh my god dad, please-“ Akito begs.
“We get it, you’re obsessed with mom,” Kaiya manages behind her hands.
Your five year olds, however, giggle at the displays of affection, watching your body language tense up in embarrassment for Rintaro’s sudden display. It’s something all your kids used to do, growing up watching Rintaro be all over you. As they’ve gotten older, their excitement to watch their parents love on each other has turned into embarrassment, but there’s no doubt in any of the kids’ minds about how in love you two are.
And at the end of the day, that’s all you both want.
Rintaro smirks and rests his hands on your hips, big hands splaying over the bones, “man, you drive me wild, you know that? Makes me wanna give you another baby-“
“NO!” You wail, interrupting whatever he was about to say.
“DAAAAAAAD!”
“WE’RE SORRY!”
“Wait, so where do babies come from?”
“From now on,” Rintaro continues, looking at his four kids over his shoulder (and purposefully ignoring the last question). “You wanna be brats? I hit on the mom. This is not a democracy nor a negotiation. The more you complain, the more mom’s gonna blush.” He looks back at you and smirks, “because holy cow do I love to make mom blush.”
“EUGHHH!”
The only sounds for a moment are giggles from Sachie and Sachiko, everyone holding their breath to see if Rintaro will continue with his affections, or if he’s already thrown in the towel.
“I don’t hear any dishes or hands being washed!”
Immediately, all four kids spring into action, dishes softly clanging while Akito and Kaiya whisper among themselves in embarrassment over what they just witnessed. Sachie and Sachiko take turns pumping the hand soap for each other, making the plastic bottle covered in sticky soap, but at least the fighting has ceased.
Rintaro sighs and puckers his lips out for a kiss, which you offer him excitedly. “Thank you,” you murmur against him.
“Welcome, babygirl,” he says back.
“I HEARD THAT!” Akito wails.

See Me Through You Series
Tumblr media
I don't care right now (I don't give a fuck)
Pull your hair right now (come here)
Tryna beat it right now (she like)
But you know I got a man
Synopsis: Joe has no more fucks to give and is tired of him not having the title of being your boyfriend
Warnings: mentions of dv
Do not engage if you are underage
Please Do Not Repost My Content Anywhere
After Joe had told you that he knew that you loved him instead of Trevor, you stood there speechless.
One thing you weren't about to do was tell him that he was wrong.
His eyes never left yours as he waited for you to say something. When you didn't, he knew that it had to be up to him to at least try to pull a response out of you.
“Look, Y/N, if you go back to him, fine. I can't stop you, but I do need to tell you one thing.” He told you as he grabbed your left hand to hold it while the other one was holding onto the bouquet of flowers that he had gifted you.
“What's that?” You asked him not knowing that you had absentmindedly squeezed his hand tighter.
“You’re making a mistake and hopefully you realize that before you get hurt again because I know that at this point, it's bound to happen.” Joe said as he was not holding back how he felt about the entire situation.
Now the question was why did Trevor have such a strong hold on you?
“Joey, I promise that you don't have to worry about me. I'll be fine.” You said while trying to reassure him, but knew for a fact that more than likely it was not working in your favor.
“And who are you trying to convince? Me or yourself? Do you also not realize how much your brother worries about you too? From what I've seen and heard about him, he is not a good person. Especially not to you. Did you forget him leaving actual marks on your wrist while we were at that party and you were trying to get away from him? What do you think would have happened if I wasn’t there to get you away from him?”
“I wish that people would just stop acting like they know what's best for me.” You breathed out, frustrated about being hit from all different angles.
Joe, Ja'Marr, Erin, and Alisha.
Even your parents thought that you had broken up with him a while ago because that's what Ja'Marr told them when he knew that Joe had eyes for you.
“Bam Bam! Why did dad just say he was relieved that I finally broke up with Trevor!? And that you had told them?! Didn’t realize my life was a soap opera to you!”
“I just uh predicted the future. Now you're not going to make me look like a liar to mom and dad, right?”
“I should beat your ass right now.”
“I mean…. You have someone who likes you that I know will treat you right. He's literally just waiting for Trevor to get out of his rightful spot.”
“JA'MARR! Who are you talking about!?”
“Pebbles, don't be dumb. I'm talking about Joe, obviously. I see the type of person he is and that's someone I want for my sister.”
The relief that was evident on their faces let you know that he was not ever going to have approval from anyone that was a part of your life.
As soon as those words left your mouth, Joe wasted no time responding to you.
“Oh so you think this is what a healthy relationship between two people looks like? And someone obviously needs to because you definitely can't do it yourself.”
“Just like you said before, if I go back to him, it really isn't any of your business or anyone else's for that matter. Let's keep it that way because I am done with this conversation.”
“If that's what you want then okay. I won't say anything else about it. And to add to that I'll keep my distance because you're right. You shouldn't be spending more time with another man that isn't your boyfriend and I guess he probably feels like I stepped on his toes enough. But he won't have to worry about that anymore.” He told you as he sighed and held up his hands in defense, losing the warmth that he had been getting from holding your hand.
“Wait…” You started to say, but Joe shook his head at you.
“No, this is what you wanted so this is how it's going to be from now on.”
“Joey, I didn't mean…”
“Didn't mean what? You love me but your ass is crawling back to him as he begs for forgiveness as usual after doing the bare minimum? Actually, he doesn't even do that. I'm not about to compete with anyone who I feel isn't even on my level to compete with me in the first place. I'll see you at the game if you're coming later. Probably not the best idea to wear my jersey since we can't have Trevor seeing it.”
Now it was apparent that Joe was more than pissed off with you.
“Seriously?”
“Seriously. I need to head back to my apartment to start to get ready anyway. But for the record….” He trailed off and you tried to grab his hand, but he immediately moved away.
“For the record what?”
“I love you too. So do what you will with that information.”
That's the last thing Joe told you before he turned away from you before he walked back to meet up with Justin and Ja'Marr.
Later that day in the afternoon, you were sitting next to Alisha and Erin in the student section of the stadium waiting for the game to start. After the conversation between the two of you earlier in the day, you honestly didn’t feel like going, but decided to anyway.
Even though Joe was mad at you, you had already promised him last week that you would wear his jersey to the game and didn't care who saw it at this point.
You were going to support your friend.
Your friend that you were in love with and he was in love with you however that was a whole nother discussion.
“You look good in your future husband's jersey.” Erin teased while Alisha laughed before taking a bite of her hot dog.
“He’s a little mad at me right now so hopefully seeing me in it will make it a little bit better.” You said as you turned to look at her.
“Well he can't be but so mad at you since he is literally making his way over here.” Alisha told you as you turned around to see that she was indeed correct.
The three of you were on the first row in the middle so that you would have the best view. In order to get these seats, all three of you made sure to get to the stadium early. When Joe finally reached you, he had an expression on his face that you couldn't quite read and you were the first one to speak.
“Surprised to see me?” You asked and he nodded.
“A little bit, but I know you. A promise is a promise and you said that you would be here. You aren't one to back out of something so easily.”
“Hmm, true. Are you still mad at me?” You quietly asked and Joe simply shrugged.
“Seeing you in my jersey is making me less mad if that helps. If you were my girlfriend, after tonight when I won I would be able to take it off of you. But I know my opportunity is coming.”
“I…” You started to say as you felt your cheeks heating up.
“Oh, that’s right. We established boundaries today and I promised that I would back off. It's kind of hard, but I just have to deal with it.”
“Joey….”
“Bold move though wearing it considering anybody could see it, including him. We both know that he already doesn’t like me. Think he'd be mad if I kissed you right now? In front of all these people? Letting the entire world know that you belong to me and only me even if you aren't ready to admit it yet.” Joe whispered as he leaned closer to you. Joe had spotted Trevor in the stands a few rows up and sent a small smile his way which led to Trevor glaring at him. You still had yet to notice that he was there which Joe was going to take advantage of.
When you were quiet, Joe laughed as he broke the silence.
“Let’s find out.”
He lightly grabbed your face and moved you closer to him so he could place a kiss on your cheek that was dangerously close to your mouth.
If you would have moved less than one centimeter, he would have planted that kiss on your lips.
“We'll talk later.” He told you while pinching your cheek and you simply nodded. This was the second time today that he had left you speechless.
“Have a good game, Joey.”
“It already is a good game, because you're here.” He replied as he winked at you.
He made his way back over to the sideline while Erin and Alisha were grinning from ear to ear as you turned around to look at both of them.
“I seriously wish yall would just fuck already. It would literally solve so many problems. He would take you on the fifty yard line if he could.”
“ERIN!”
“I’m just saying. I am literally waiting for the wedding invite. I wonder if you two will get married here or have a destination wedding? I can start looking up places.”
“What am I going to do with you?” You asked her, but also couldn’t help but to laugh at the same time.
What you didn't see was Trevor fuming behind you. He had seen the entire interaction and planned to confront you about it later. He knew that you and Joe were obviously close and were friends, but that interaction that he just saw was too intimate for his liking.
He hadn't cared for Joe ever since the party where he had stepped in between the both of you. In the back of his mind, he knew Joe liked you, it was obvious. But one thing that he had to do was set him straight and let him know that you were his and planned on reminding you about it later.
Little did he know, it was too little too late.
You were too far gone at this point, and the only person that held your attention was Joseph Lee Burrow.
Later on that night after he had gotten back to his apartment from LSU winning their game, Joe had grabbed food and was sitting down eating it while his phone vibrated on the table in front of him indicating that it was his mom and he quickly answered.
He simply wanted to be by himself and didn't bother celebrating with any of his teammates because once again, his mind was on you.
It was a continuous cycle, you, football, and focusing on his classes.
It took everything in him not to text you to tell you to come over at this very moment. He was supposed to be mad at you, but being around you was something that kept him grounded. Seeing you wear his jersey tonight made it hard for him to continue to be mad at you.
“Hello?”
“I watched the game and you played amazing as usual. I'm sorry that I couldn't make it to this one, but I will definitely be there next week.”
“It's fine, don't even worry about it and thank you.” He quietly said and she knew for a fact that something was wrong.
“What's going on? You sound upset.” Robin asked him and he sighed before he answered her.
“I like this girl…”
“Oh Y/N? Yes I know. Pretty obvious. You literally talk about her non-stop every week that me and your dad call you. Can't wait to meet her, but go on.”
“Well she knows that I like her, well I actually told her that I loved her earlier today and also told her that I knew she loved me. We've gotten really close ever since I came down here and met her. If I'm not playing football or in class, I am literally spending all of my time with her.”
“Well, what's the problem?”
“She has a boyfriend and I might just have to settle for being her friend because instead of breaking up with him and being with me, she told me that she is giving him another chance even after he's hurt her multiple times.”
“I know that can be hard to watch, but as bad as it sounds, you need to let her make her own mistakes. If that's her decision, you need to respect it.”
“And that's what I told her and also said from now on I’ll be keeping my distance from her.”
“If you feel that's your best option, then stand by your decision.”
“I just…. All I've seen is her getting hurt by him and she steadily defends him each time.”
“I… if you are her friend and you are as close as you claim you two are, just be there for her and help her get through whatever may happen. If the two of you are meant to be together, you'll be together.”
It was 2 in the morning when Joe heard someone knocking on his apartment door and was instantly confused. Hopping up from the couch that he had fallen asleep on with open books scattered around him, he opened the door to see you staring at him in a frantic state.
“Y/N, is everything okay? What's wrong?” He asked as he stepped to the side to be able to let you in and led you to sit down on the couch.
“My brother isn't here, is he?” You asked not bothering to answer his question and looking around since sometimes Ja'Marr would crash at Joe's place if he was too tired to go back to his own.
“No, but do I need to call him?” He asked and you immediately shook your head no.
“No! Please don't. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to yell, just don’t tell him.” You didn't mean to raise your voice and it came out harsher than you intended.
“Then are you going to tell me what happened? Wait, why is there a cut near your eye? And it's bleeding.” He asked and got up to wet a washcloth and dabbed at your face with it.
It was at that moment that you had looked down and started playing with your matching bracelet that you and Ja'Marr had gotten each other on your eighteenth birthdays and under no circumstances would you make eye contact with him.
That's when the thought hit Joe like a ton of bricks.
“Did that asshole put his hands on you?”
“No.”
“Y/N, if you lie to me I'm calling Ja'Marr.”
“Okay, okay. He tried to. We were arguing and he threw a vase at me that shattered against the wall and some glass from it must have cut me. And then he pushed me into a corner and acted as if he was going to punch me, but punched a hole in the wall instead. Right next to my head. He apologized, but I waited until he fell asleep and then I came here. I was so scared.” You quietly said as tears were starting to run down your cheeks and Joe quickly wiped them away.
It happened again, just like he said it would.
And this time, it ended up being a lot worse.
Joe was sitting there with his jaw clenched and once you looked up at him, you knew that you had to stop him before he did something stupid.
He abruptly got up and was looking for his keys when you instantly ran to stand in front of the door to block him.
“Move, Y/N.”
“Joey, no. You are not going anywhere. Let it go.”
“He fucking hurt you. I should go over there and kick his ass myself.”
“I cannot risk you getting in trouble and therefore getting kicked off the team, he isn't worth it. I'll be fine. Do not mess up your future over me.” You told him as you took his hands in yours.
“But YOU are worth it. Who the fuck in their right mind would do something like that to you? I knew I didn't like him when I met him and your brother was right about him.”
“Joey, promise me. Please don't. I'll deal with it in my own way.”
“There is no way in hell you are going near him ever again. Ja'Marr would be mad as hell at me if he knew that I knew that he hurt you and didn't do anything about it.”
“And that's why you aren't going to tell him.”
“Wait, what? Y/N… you cannot be serious.”
“I… it's the same thing with him too. You can both get arrested for assault and it'll lead to so much more, just please.”
Joe let out a deep sigh before nodding, letting you know that he would honor your wishes.
The two of you were still standing in front of the door and the two of you hadn't taken your eyes off one another when you suddenly reached up and kissed him, catching him off guard, but he immediately kissed you back.
When the two of you broke apart, the reality of what you had just done hit you like a ton of bricks.
You had just cheated on your boyfriend with Joe.
And you didn’t have an ounce of regret in your body.
“I'm sorry, I…” You started to say as you stepped away from him and Joe cut you off as he lightly brought you back towards him.
“I'm not. Break up with him and be with me instead. So I can show you how you're supposed to be treated. I promise you that you won't regret it.”
You didn't respond, but Joe immediately brought your face to his and kissed you once more. Both of your hands were exploring each other's bodies but as soon as you tried to lift Joe's shirt, he abruptly stopped and he kissed the side of your mouth like he had done earlier at the game before saying anything.
“Not yet. You've been through a lot tonight and the last thing I want is for you to feel like I'm taking advantage of you in a vulnerable state and you regret it tomorrow.”
“But I'm…”
“I just want you to rest for the rest of the night. We have plenty of time for that. I'll grab you some clothes to sleep in.”
Nodding your head he kissed you again before taking your hand in his and led you towards his bedroom that you had grown familiar with all throughout the semester. Any time you came over, it would lead to you stealing one of his shirts or one of his hoodies. He was convinced when the semester was over that all he was going to have left at this rate were his boxers. Once there, he let go of your hand and went into his dresser to pull out one of his old Ohio State shirts and handed it to you.
“It'll probably be huge on you, but you'll be comfortable.”
You smiled at him before heading to the bathroom to change out of your clothes. Once you closed the door behind you, you glanced in the mirror and didn't recognize the girl staring back at you.
You promised yourself that if it happened again, you would leave him, but here you were. You had someone right in front of you that wanted to give you the world so what were you so scared of?
You were tired of running around in circles and tired of making excuses.
First thing you were doing later on that day was breaking up with Trevor.
Once you had gotten changed, you walked back out into Joe's bedroom to see he was now in just a pair of sweatpants and looked like he was headed towards the door, but was quickly stopped in his tracks as he heard your soft voice behind him making him turn around.
“Where are you going?” You quietly asked since you were confused.
“To sleep on the couch while you sleep in my bed. Just wanted to make sure you’re okay first.”
“Joey, no. I'm not kicking you out of your bed and besides, I don’t want to be by myself right now.” You confessed as you grabbed his hand.
He nodded as the two of you both got settled, Joe was closest to the door while you were closest to the window. After making sure you were comfortable, he reached over to turn off the lamp that was on the bedside table. That was when he heard your voice once more.
“Joey?”
“Hmm?”
“Thank you for always being there for me. Even when I might not deserve it.”
At this point in time, you were honestly surprised that he even answered the door and let you in, but knowing the type of person he is, he wouldn’t have reacted any differently.
“I'll be here as long as you want me to be and you deserve the world. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.”
You didn’t know how long you were laying there, but sleep was the last thing taking over your body. Noticing that Joe's breathing also hadn't slowed, you turned around to face him and at the same time you heard his voice.
“Princess? You still awake? You need to go to sleep.”
“I can't sleep. I'm still so scared, I know he's going to look for me sooner or later.”
“You’re safe here and no one is going to touch a hair on your head. I can promise you that.” He told you as he stroked your face and placed a light kiss on your forehead as he was able to make out your features in the dark by the moonlight peeking in through the curtains.
“Come here.”
Joe then wrapped his arms around you and pulled you closer to him as he then leaned down to place a soft kiss on your lips which you quickly returned.
All of this led up to a heated make out session with Joe now hovering over top of you as his hands reached underneath his shirt that you were wearing. His fingers lightly grazed your nipples and he then began to roll them between his fingers as he noticed that your bra that you had been wearing had been long forgotten which he was thankful for.
Before he lifted his shirt over your head, he asked for permission to make sure you were absolutely sure about wanting to do this. Joe had wanted you from day one, but if you weren’t ready to do this he was willing to wait until you were.
“Are you…?”
“Yes. I was sure earlier tonight and I'm sure now. I know the last thing I'm ever going to regret is being with you.”
Once he peeled the shirt away from your body, he now had full access to you. The plan was to take his time so he could give you the undivided attention that you deserved since he knew for a fact that Trevor wasn't giving it to you without even having to ask you about it.
His mouth found its way to one of your nipples and he began to lightly suck on it while continuing to roll the other one in between his fingers before switching making a moan escape your mouth.
“Mmm, fuck.”
“I'm going to make you feel so good, princess.” He whispered against your lips before kissing them.
The increase in wetness between your thighs was evident as you Iet out soft quiet moans from the sensation of having him explore your body with his mouth.
As he moved further south, Joe's fingers ran along your folds as he saw how wet you actually were.
“This all for me? I've barely even done anything and your body is responding like this?” He asked you as he placed one kiss on each inner thigh.
As you nodded, he inserted one finger and soon worked himself up to two before settling in between your thighs and beginning to pleasure you with his tongue.
After a few minutes, he noticed you starting to squirm and firmly wrapped his arms around your legs in the hopes of limiting your movement.
“Stay still for me princess.” Was all you heard as your hands found a way to his hair and was softly tugging on it, hoping to bring him in closer.
With the use of his tongue along with his fingers, a new sensation unknown to you was building in the lower half of your body and at the same time, Joe began to suck on your clit.
“Oh, shit….”
Joe felt your hands trying to push him away from you, but all he did was tighten his hold on your legs making sure you had no way to get away from him.
“You gonna cum for me, baby? You won't be able to if you keep moving away from me.” Joe asked you as he had come up for air, but immediately went back down.
“Yes.” Was all you said as he began to suck harder.
It took no time at all for you to feel like you were seeing stars as Joe continued to pleasure you.
It was official.
Joe had given you your first orgasm.
He gave you a few minutes to recover as he was placing kisses up and down your thighs before sliding off his sweatpants along with his boxers as he opened the bedside table to pull out a condom. It was still obviously dark in the room, but you could literally see because of the light coming through the windows past the curtains, how big he was and you suddenly became nervous.
You thought to yourself that there was no way in hell that he was about to fit.
Joe could sense this as he was putting the condom on and quickly tried to reassure you.
“No reason to be nervous, baby. It's going to fit. Most important thing is that you have to relax for me.” He told you while leaning down to lightly stroke your face.
“Okay.” You quietly said in response, but you still weren’t convinced. But at the same time, you knew that Joe had no reason to lie to you.
Once he positioned himself in front of you, he reached down to kiss you and once he pulled away from you is when you heard his voice once more.
“You ready, princess?”
You nodded, but that obviously wasn’t enough for him.
“I need words, you need to say it. I’m not doing anything unless you do.”
“I’m ready.”
Once he finally heard it, you felt Joe slowly entering you and you tightly closed your eyes. As you did this, Joe immediately felt your body tense up.
It would have probably been a good idea to tell him that you had never had sex before before all of this began happening, but knew that he would be as gentle as possible with you regardless.
That's just the type of person he was when it came to you.
“Princess, you have to relax. It's me and the last thing that I am ever going to do is hurt you. When I told you that I loved you, I meant it. Every word.” He quietly said as he leaned down to kiss you.
You nodded and several more kisses were placed on your lips when you felt him easing the rest of the way into you at the same time making you gasp as your arms wrapped around his neck.
“You're okay, I got you baby.” Joe told you as he gave you time to adjust to his size before he made any sudden movement.
Kisses were planted along your neck and shoulder as you were adjusting to a new feeling that you had never experienced before. It wasn’t quite to the point of pleasure, however you weren’t necessarily in pain either.
It felt weird.
About a minute or so had passed when you slowly felt him begin to move and you wrapped your arms around him tighter.
Now all you felt was pleasure as moans escaped from your mouth when Joe began to increase his pace.
In order to go deeper and at a better angle, Joe held onto your hips before deciding to wrap your left leg around his waist.
“If you want this as bad as you say you do, keep those legs spread. Fuck you feel so good around me, just like I knew you would.”
Since your arms were already tightly wrapped around him, his face was in the crook of your neck as he had now leaned forward.
Making that sudden change in position, he was now hitting the same spot over and over again and you just knew that it was about to send you over the edge sooner or later.
You were thinking that it would probably be sooner.
“Fuck, Joey stay right there.” You breathed out as he lifted his head to steal a quick kiss from you.
Doing what you had asked him to, his movements increased in pace while also becoming sloppy at the same time making you think that he was just as close as you were.
“Joey, I…” You trailed off as a weird sensation was building in your stomach once more and you knew it was happening again.
The second orgasm hit you like a ton of bricks and you felt like you had gotten the wind knocked out of you.
As Joe heard your soft whimpers, he placed kisses all along your shoulder blade as you rode out your high.
He placed another kiss on your forehead before he slowly slipped out of you making you wince and went to throw away the condom.
Once he had come back, he had a washcloth with warm water in his right hand as he started to gently glide it onto your body in order to wipe you off.
When he was finished, he threw it into the hamper and laid back down beside you, ultimately pulling you on top of him. Your eyes began to become heavy between Joe rubbing small circles along your back and listening to Joe's heartbeat.
Your eyes fluttered open from hearing the television on a low volume and you could only assume that Joe was already awake. Once he noticed that you began to stir, he peeked down at you seeing as you were still laying on his chest.
“Good morning, princess.” He softly said before placing a kiss on your forehead.
“Good morning. What time is it?”
“It’s almost nine and I was about to wake you up since I know that you have class at ten and it takes you five to seven business days to get ready.”
“Really, Joey?” You replied as you rolled your eyes.
“I call it like I see it. I always tell you what time I’m going to come and get you, however, I’ll be downstairs waiting in the car while you only still have one of your lashes on.”
“You get on my last nerve.”
“But did I lie?”
When Joe was met with silence and another eye roll from you, all he did was laugh.
“I guess I have to go and get ready then.” You told him as you sighed, not wanting to leave his embrace.
“We can do dinner later and have a study date…. With or without clothes.”
“JOSEPH!”
“What? What’d I say that was wrong? I was just giving you options!” He exclaimed as he then held up his hands in defense.
“I’m ignoring you. What time are we doing our dinner and study date?”
“As soon as you get out of class, just come back here.”
“I’m honestly a little nervous to go back to my apartment.” You said being completely honest.
“Just get some of your things and you can stay with me, you know that I don’t care and the most important thing is that you’re safe. I have to go to class too, but I can call Ja’Marr…”
“NO! Baby brother asks too many questions. I’ll be fine. The security guy who works there is super nice and I know if I tell him I don’t feel all that safe he’ll walk me to my apartment door.”
“As long as you’re sure. But call me if there’s a problem, understand?”
“Understood, Mr. Burrow.”
—-
Joe was still running off of the high from this morning as he had woken up to the sight of you beside him. He was walking to his last class of the day on campus when he did a double take as he spotted you in front of one of the many libraries that he knew was near a few of your classes. But who he saw you with was why he instantly became upset.
You were talking to Trevor, who of course he despised and for good reason.
He couldn't tell what the nature of the conversation was by your body language and it almost looked as if Trevor was barely paying any attention to what you were saying which wasn’t unusual.
So, did last night mean nothing to you?
Joe was watching you for a few more minutes until he looked down at his watch and noticed that if he didn't leave now that he would end up being late to class.
At this point, he was done trying.
If that's who you wanted, then fine.
And he made it up in his mind that he was done.
Completely.
Throughout the day, you were calling him and sending him text messages, that ultimately went unanswered making you nervous.
You deserved to get an explanation on why he was suddenly acting this way towards you and immediately hopped into your car after packing your bags that you were going to take in order to stay with him and quickly drove to his apartment.
The banging on Joe's door instantly annoyed him seeing as he just sat down to watch one of the many NBA games that we’re coming on that night. He glanced at the clock to see that it was barely 6 pm and had a feeling that it was you.
A deep sigh escaped his mouth before he got up to answer it. Once he did, he was met with you just as he suspected and you had a pissed off look on your face and Joe raised his eyebrows at you in confusion.
“Yes? Did you need something?”
“So, you can have sex with me, but then suddenly ignore me? I may be little, but I will kick your 6’4 ass and throw a dumbbell at your head.” You asked him and pushed your way past him into the apartment.
“It's not even like that so stop jumping to conclusions.” Joe replied as he closed the door behind you.
“Then tell me so I can understand, Joey! Because you have me confused. You claim to want me so bad and then end up ignoring me all day!? When I called you multiple times? Who does that?”
“Because I saw you with him! Why the fuck are you even talking to him? Hasn’t he hurt you enough?”
“Now look who's jumping to conclusions.” You said as you crossed your arms.
“Then why else would you be with him? You did tell me recently that you were going to give him another chance. Recently as in yesterday before we had sex so I simply thought she claims she loves me, yet she's still going back to him.”
You pinched the bridge of your nose before you said anything else to him.
“You are literally so annoying. I went to talk to him to break up with him! Last time I checked you did confess that you loved me or did I not get that right?”
“Oh.” Joe quietly said and you couldn't help but to roll your eyes.
You started to make your way back towards the door in order to leave when you felt Joe suddenly pull you back as he wrapped his arms around you.
“Let me go. I'm mad at you.” You said as you were trying to wiggle out of his grip.
“I'm sorry. I shouldn't have assumed anything.” He replied as he turned you around to face him and leaned down to kiss you.
“No, don't kiss me. Turn me loose. Leave me alone. All you literally had to do was just ask me.”
“I know, but seeing you with him just pissed me off and so I walked away. I promise it won’t happen again. You forgive me? I’m not letting you go until you say you do.” Joe asked you as he squeezed you tighter and leaned down to kiss your forehead.
“I guess.” You muttered as he led the both of you over to the couch as Joe sat down first and then pulled you onto his lap.
“So, is it official now?” You asked him as he had been focused on the game that was playing on the television.
“Is what official?”
“Me being LSU's star quarterback Joe Burrow's girlfriend.” You teased as you kissed the tip of his nose.
“You've been mine for a while. That ex-boyfriend of yours was just keeping my spot warm. I bet he never made you feel as good as I did last night.” Joe told you as he was wiggling his eyebrows as you both then let out a laugh.
“No, because I never had sex with Trevor.”
Joe immediately stopped laughing and looked at you with wide eyes.
“Wait, huh?”
“I never did because I told him that I wanted to wait. That was one of the only things he actually did respect, but I know for a fact that he's probably cheated on me multiple times because of it, but I just ignored it.” You replied while being completely honest.
“Uh, princess? Don't you think you should have told me that? Fuck did I…? Shit. I would have made it a lot more special if I would have known. I would have had candles and…”
“Stop it. It was perfect. Everything was perfect.” You cut him off as you kissed him and tried to reassure him.
“I waited for the right person who I knew for a fact was going to treat me right.”

Like A Million Yen
Tumblr media
Originally, I wanted to get this posted on the 31st of October… that clearly didn’t happen. Oh well.
Post-Shibuya!Nanami
Enjoy!
WC: 4.3 K
Panic overwhelmed you as you hurriedly scoured through the makeshift infirmary. The only sound registering in your ears was the thrumming of your erratic heartbeat and the rushing of blood.
You had known that Kento was called in to deal with an emergent mission that had suddenly sprung up on the both of you, but never in a million years could you have imagined something as grand-scale as this. The only thing that compared would probably have been the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons almost a year ago, but Kento managed to survive that situation relatively unscathed.
This time was different.
You had received the call from Yuuji, that Kento was severely injured and that you had to come quickly. The news, at first, startled you, but what scared you the most was how defeated and exhausted Yuuji’s voice sounded.
You acted fast, darting in and out of the curtained and sectioned off rooms, and past the lined up cots that held all of the other injured sorcerers and civilians. Though you couldn’t see yourself, you could only imagine how disheveled and wild you looked as you frantically searched for your husband.
“Mrs. Nanami!”
You stopped dead in your tracks, and turned to see Yuuji, all battered and cut up from the battle that had ensued. That he had survived.
You let out a breath of relief that you didn't even know that you were holding in, and rushed towards him, pulling him into your arms, and crushing him to your chest. You were grateful to see him on his feet, taking his appearance into consideration, of course, but you were thankful that he was alive and breathing, nonetheless.
"Thank God you're okay," you whispered, your hands tightly gripping at the back of his tattered uniform. You pulled away, and gently cupped the sides of his face. "Are you hurt?"
Yuuji, seemingly slipped into a dissociative state as he bore a thousand yard stare into your eyes as he looked back at you, blinked a couple of times as he was able register that you were speaking to him.
"I, uh... I'm fine Mrs. Nanami, I swear, " he stammered out, rather unconvincingly.
You were going to circle back to Yuuji whenever the circumstance would allow you to, but right now, you just wanted to be reunited with your husband more than anything.
"Yuuji, can you take me to Kento? I don't know where they're keeping him..." You've never sounded so small before. You hated it.
Yuuji grasped your wrist and led you to the farthest corner of the infirmary, guiding you to the end of a long line of curtained beds. You could feel your heart hammer against your chest the closer and closer you got to Kento, the beating sound beginning to overpower your sense of hearing. That's all you could really hear in that moment in time.
At the very end of the line, Yuuji stopped and pulled back the divider of the very last section, letting you go ahead of him into the tiny impromptu room. You hesitantly stepped in, your eyes landing on a figure that was laid on a cot.
As you approached, you could see that it was in fact Kento and that half of his body was wrapped up in white bandages, the other half was seemingly left unharmed. For the most part, at least. His hair was a birds nest upon his head, the skin that was left uncovered was bruised with black and blue marks, and he looked utterly exhausted.
You pulled up a chair that was in the room and placed it beside the cot, and took his hand in yours. His skin was warm to the touch, and you watched as his chest rose and fell with each breath he took, reinforcing the fact that your husband was alive. Injured and wounded to an extent that you didn't know of just quite yet, but alive, regardless. You brought his hand up to your lips and pressed a gentle kiss to the back of it, thanking whatever higher power would bother to even listen to you in that moment.
You held his hand up to your lips for a few seconds longer, before giving it a gentle squeeze.
"Nghh.... darling? Is that you?"
His voice pulled you out of your silent reverie, and you almost cried tears of joy when you saw your husbands uncovered eye looking at you blearily.
You wanted to throw yourself on top of his body, but rationality stopped you from doing so. So, instead, you opted to placing his palm on your cheek, trying to gain some semblance of control over your emotions as they began to spiral out of control the more that you leaned into his touch and sought out his warmth.
You wanted to be strong for Kento.
You had to be strong for Kento. Especially, considering that there was likely going to be a long road of recovery ahead of him.
You wanted, no, needed to be a rock for him to build his foundation on, like he had done for you many times before in times of turmoil for you.
"How are you feeling?" you managed to get out, your voice shaky.
He gave you a half-hearted smile. "Like a million yen, my love."
You leaned over him to press a kiss to his forehead, your lips lingering just a second too long. "Well, thank goodness for that." You tenderly pressed your forehead against his, closing your eyes as you just tried to bask in his presence and his touch.
"You're not going to be happy with me."
You pulled away, confused. "What? Why would I be unhappy with you?"
A tiny, sheepish grin. "I've lost my wedding ring."
~
You got the full story from Yuuji when Kento had been taken to a healing session with Shoko the next morning. He had been badly burned by some unregistered special grade, and, instead of seeking out help like he should have initially done, had recklessly put himself back into the line of duty and had fought off a horde of transfigured humans in his horrendously mutilated state in hopes of searching for his fallen comrades. He was about to be transfigured by the special grade that was responsible for the horde, some childlike curse named Mahito, but Yuuji, arriving at the eleventh hour, managed to prevent that from happening, swiftly dealing with it before anymore damage could occur.
You had made a mental note to thank Yuuji in some grand, special way that you could go about. Whether it would be a home cooked meal with all the stops pulled out, or, hell, maybe even adoption papers (though, that would have to definitely be discussed with Kento before anything like that came to fruition), you had to do something for the young sorcerer to properly thank him for saving your significant other.
Kento had been promptly discharged from acute medical observation after having spent a week within the confines of the Jujutsu High Infirmary and having numerous healing sessions with Shoko in the process. His red, angry burned left half of his body slowly dimmed to a lightly, flushed pink, and the hair on that side of his body was going to take come time to grow back, of course. Unfortunately, his left eye was something that Shoko regenerate, but he wasn't going to be able to see out of it, rendering him to the use of an eyepatch.
You had spent every waking moment with Kento, doing everything in your power to aide him and be of assistance to him in whatever way possible. You had helped him to the toilets whenever he needed to go, you helped bathe him all while trying to be conscientious of his healing skin, had been at his beck and call and had promptly forced him back into bed several times whenever he tried to go and do things independently.
He hated being catered to, being treated like he was incapable of doing things for himself, by himself. For you, however, he allowed the exception. Begrudgingly, if that.
The first few weeks back home were... uneasy, to say the least.
Every time that you caught Kento looking at himself in the mirror, you would see his mouth turn up in disgust, and he would briskly turn his head in the other direction. He didn't want to leave the apartment, fearing what the general public may think of him.
You've never known your husband to be extraordinarily vain, but you wanted to give him some grace. His appearance and some of his physical capabilities have been drastically changed, and the both of you needed to take some time to get used to it.
As time went on, his mood became more and more surly.
He had withdrawn within himself, and no matter how determined you were to try and coax out what he was truly feeling inside, he would shut down and go nonverbal.
What was most hurtful, however, was how reluctant he was to let you touch him, and vice versa. It seemed that any chance you would take to try and initiate some form of physical affection with him, Kento would immediately brush you off or straight up reject your advances.
"Not tonight, my love. I just want to go to bed."
"Not right now, darling. I'm not in the mood."
Oh, and you could forget about sex. There was no way in hell Kento allowed you to touch him in that sort of regard. Not that you wanted to get physically intimate with him, keeping in mind that he way still recovering from some pretty egregious injuries on the entire half of his left body.
It was just something that lingered in your mind for some time.
You knew that the road to recovery was going to going to be a long one, but you hadn't anticipated the man that your husband was becoming.
Or had already become.
Yuuji, Megumi, Ino, Ijichi, Shoko, and among others paid visits to your home, checking in the two of you to see how you were faring, Shoko mainly stopping in to see how Kento was healing in his post treatment. Shoko was really the only one that Kento allowed to see, hiding himself away in the safety and privacy of your bedroom if it was anyone else.
You knew at some point that Kento was going to have to talk to you, about anything and everything that was going on inside him. It was just a matter of when it was going to happen.
The straw that broke the camels back was when Kento, all while trying to enjoy a cup of coffee at the dining table, accidentally lost his grip on his mug, causing it to shatter on the ground, allowing the contents to spill out all over the floor.
"God dammit!" he quietly snarled to himself as he leaned down beside the chair to pick up the shards of the mug, his hands trembling.
You rushed forward with a dish towel, trying to beat him to the shards of the broken mug. "Here, let me-"
You threw the towel over the mess, as you tenderly picked up the bits of the broken mug and placed them in the palm of your hand, careful not to try and pierce yourself with them.
"I'm sorry."
You paused, looking up at him questionably. "Why are you sorry? It was an accident, Kento. This hardly deserves an apology."
A forlorn look crossed his facial features, the unmarred half of his face scrunching up like he was trying to fight off an onslaught of tears that welled up in his eyes. As he sat there, his emotions brewing within him, he felt like he was a child again. The despair and turmoil swirling in both his chest and his abdomen, overwhelming him as his current state of mind rendered him to feel as if these things were too … too complex for him to process, like he was experiencing it again for the very first time. It was as if the world was too big for him, and he was too small for it. "No. I'm sorry."
You realized that this was more than just the spilled coffee and the broken mug. You stood up, holding the mug in the safety net of the dish rag, watching as Kento began to speak his piece.
A few tears managed to spill over, and you watched as they rolled down his cheek. “When I was sucked into the domain expansion of that water-based Curse along with Maki, Megumi, and Naobito, I thought of you.” He wiped away at the tears on his cheek, keeping his head down so he wouldn’t meet your gaze. "When I was burned by that unregistered special grade, I thought of you. I had… I could’ve gone back to Shoko. I should have gone back…"
You remained silent as your husband broke open before you, the floodgates now barreling wide open. He hunched his shoulders forward, leaning somewhat of his weight onto the table as a sob ripped through his core.
"I nearly died, and left you behind."
In that moment, the reality of the ordeal that Kento survived seemed to finally sink in. The repressed shock and horror coming to the forefront of his mind, forcing him to relive those moments, from the moment when he first set foot within the veil to nearly dying at the hands of the Special-Grade Curse in the Shibuya subway station. He buried his face into his hands and cried, his entire trunk rattling with each shaky breath he took.
He cried for the fact that students, fellow sorcerers, and innocent civilians alike were murdered in cold blood. He cried for the fact that he wasn't able to protect Maki, Megumi, and Naobito from the unregistered special grade. He cried for the fact, that instead of seeking help when he was gravely injured, that he foolishly put himself back onto the frontline. He cried for the fact that he was content with dying at the hands of Mahito, with the prospect of you becoming a widow at such a young age, especially when the pair of you had only been married for a little over two years.
It became clear to you that Kento was suffering from survivor’s guilt. To him, why was he, out of everyone who responded to the incident in Shibuya, allowed to survive?
Why was he granted the ability to continue on living, when there were people who were far more deserving of it?
You set the dishrag on the table top, unable to idly stand by while Kento was in distress. With careful hesitation, you slowly extended your hand out to him, softly touching his shoulder as they shook with sobs. You held still for a moment, trying to gauge his reaction to your physical contact with him, unsure if he would allow you to continue any further.
When he didn't flinch away or move your hand off his shoulder, you cautiously inched closer to him and pulled him by his shoulders into you, letting him bury his face into your chest. You wrapped your arms around his head, threading your fingers into his hair.
"How can you stand to touch me?! Or even be near me?! I'm hideous," he sobbed, his voice muffled.
"I married you for you, remember?"
Kento lifted his face out of the valley of your breasts and met your gaze, his eyes swollen and teary. You tenderly placed a hand on the scarred side of his face, and stroked his cheekbone with your thumb.
"Is this okay?"
He nodded mutely, and closed his eyes, leaning his face into your hand. Kento denied himself the joy of your touch and comfort since he’s been back home with you, out of the shame and humiliation that he harbored for himself.
"I married a kind, gentle, and loving man. A courageous, and valiant man, someone who abnegates himself and his own safety for those he oversees, especially for his students, so that they can make it back home to their loved ones alive and breathing." You leaned down and pressed a kiss to the crown of his hair. "I’m blessed to have such a wonderful person to call mine. Above all, I’m blessed that this person allows me to call them mine, and that they chose me, out of all the potential partners that they could have had… they chose me." You leaned down and pressed a kiss to each of his closed eyelids, your lips lingering on his left side for a second longer than the right side. "And I am forever grateful for that."
A beat of silence passed between the two of you after you finished speaking.
"I should be dead."
Dread washed through you at his statement, but you quickly pushed it to the side, trying to remain steadfast. "But you’re not, Kento. You’re here with me."
Kento gently pushed you back several inches, giving him some room to stand up from the chair to his full height. He wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you into his front, allowing you to place the side of your head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat.
"And for that, my love, I am forever grateful."
~
Both you and Kento weaved your way through the crowds as the two of you trekked to the underground labyrinth that was the Tokyo subway station. You were headed back Jujutsu Tech for a final checkup appointment with Shoko for Kento.
It wasn't easy to convince him to step out of your shared apartment for the first time, but with enough encouragement and persuading from your end, he finally gave in. One of the conditions, however, was that you accompany him on his appointment and that you find him an eyepatch to wear over his left eye.
You also saw that as an opportunity to see Yuuji. You know that the poor boy has been worried sick over Kento.
You hadn't noticed that there was a slight lag in Kento's hold on your hand as you led him through the crowds until you suddenly were yanked backwards, making you groan out a soft 'oof'.
You turned around to see what was the matter, only to find Kento's gaze focused on a point in the distance, his stare unblinking. You craned your head the other way to see what he was so focused on.
B5.
You heard his respiration hitch and pick up in rate, teetering towards hyperventilating the more he stared at the sign on the wall.
"Hey, hey, hey," you gently cooed, quickly jumping into action to try and prevent a full on panic attack out in the open. You grabbed hold of Kento's face with both of your hands, pulling his gaze away from the sign to bring his eyes down to yours. "Look at me, nothing's going to happen. I promise."
"I...I can't-" his voice sounds strangled.
"Yes, you can. Mahito was exorcised, Yuuji saw it happen himself. You're not as injured as you were before. You're healed. I'm with you, and I'll be with you every step of the way."
Kento visibly relaxed to a certain extent the more you soothe him, your rationality of the situation overpowering his anxiety.
"Here's what's going to happen: we're going to get on the subway, like the many times that we've done before. We're going to ride the subway for six stops until we get to the stop that's ten minutes away from Jujutsu Tech. We'll leave the station, and walk the ten minutes to campus so Shoko can check you out one last time and then we're going to pay Yuuji a visit in his dorm. Don't you need to thank him still?"
He nodded, his shoulders sagging as his head dropped.
"Then let's go, yeah? We’re about to miss our train." You offered him a full hearted smile as you tugged him towards the station.
He let out an apprehensive sigh, letting you guide him forward.
Kento maintained an ironlike grip on your hand as the two of you rode the train, his eye flitting between you and the other passengers, constantly surveying his surroundings in fear that danger would arise at any moment. You silently reassured him by squeezing his hand every so often, your thumb softly stroking the backside of his hand wherever you could reach.
As you expected, the train ride went without a hitch as the car rolled to a stop at your desired destination. He maintained his hold on your hand as you climbed the stairs out of the subway station, slowly but surely releasing some of the tension in his grip.
"See? What'd I tell you?" You leaned up to peck his cheek, reaching the top of the stairs.
"We're having Ijichi drive us back," he grumbled, a scowl forming on his face.
"Ijichi's out attending to a mission with Panda. And besides, this is good exposure therapy for you."
"Ugh."
The appointment with Shoko also went without any issues, with her performing a full body examination on Kento, testing his movements and reflexes on his left side, while getting updates on how he was faring back home. Shoko also let out a low hum of approval at the mention of Kento getting back onto the subway. She signed off on his case file, granting him full permission to get back out into the field, though, all parties in the conversation knew that the possibility of that actually happening was few and far between.
Yuuji was ecstatic to see the two of you standing outside of his dorm, yelping out a lively "Nanamin!" as he launched himself onto Kento, engulfing him into a bear hug.
Kento, taking it all in stride, chuckled and patted the back of Yuuji's head with his free hand. "Hello, Itadori-kun."
The young boy wasted no time, pulling the two of you into his dorm room, filling you in on everything that had gone on campus, mainly sticking around Toge, Panda, and Megumi as everyone was still trying to recover from the grand scale attack that was Shibuya. You had learned of the fates of Nobara and Maki, Kento softly exhaling out a breath that he didn't even realize that he was holding in, now knowing that Maki was alive and well, just recovering from extreme burns like he had been, as well as Nobara also narrowly escaping death from Mahito, permanently blinding her from her left eye.
Both girls were still in recovery. Kento made mental notes to himself to check in on them whenever his schedule would allow him to. He also made a mental note to scold Nobara whenever he would get the chance to, now remembering that he had instructed both her and Nitta to stay behind and wait for help after he had saved them from the fool with the hand for sword.
"Come over for dinner on Sunday? I'll make your favorite dish, whatever it is," you asked Yuuji as you and Kento headed towards the door, planning on taking your leave.
"Yes, please, Mrs. Nanami! I would love to!"
"Good. You need a proper meal and I know that the convenience store ramen and snacks aren't doing a good enough job of keeping you healthy and strong. The door is open whenever you would like to come over."
As you turned to open the door, you were stopped by an "Oh, wait, Nanamin!"
Kento looked over his shoulder to see Yuuji rummaging through his bedside drawer, before picking up an object that was small enough to fit into the palm of his hand.
"I remember the last time I visited your apartment, you had mentioned that Nanamin had lost his wedding ring. So... I figured... y'know?"
Yuuji presented with an open palm, the wedding ring that Kento had been missing since the 31st of October.
"Itadori-kun..." Kento gasped, fully facing Yuuji now as he grabbed the piece of jewelry out of his hand. "How... how did you find this?" He turned the ring all over, inspecting it to find your initials and the date of your wedding inscribed on the inside of his band, thus cementing the fact that it was his wedding band.
"I went back to the Shibuya station and checked all of the lost and founds that were available there," Yuuji answered brightly, watching with joy as Kento slipped the ring into his suit jacket pocket. "When I couldn't find it there, I searched all of the floors and just... got lucky, I guess."
"You have no idea how happy this has made me, Itadori-kun," Kento beamed at Yuuji, reaching forward to pull him into a hug. "Thank you."
Yuuji wordlessly accepted the hug, resting his chin on his shoulder as he squeezed him back.
You watched the scene unfold, a sense of warmth spreading through your chest.
You reminisced on the moments that you and Yuuji shared when Kento was still in the infirmary, thinking on how much Yuuji came to care for him, not just as his mentor, but as a father figure, one that he never got to experience for himself. You knew how much he valued your husband's opinion, and desperately wanted to earn his respect.
He must have been over the moon.
Kento pulled away, giving his shoulder a light squeeze. "See you Sunday, yeah?"
"Yeah. Of course, Nanamin. I'll see you and Mrs. Nanami there."
"Alright. Take care of yourself, Itadori-kun."
As you left the main building and ventured into the courtyard, heading to the main entrance of Jujutsu Tech, Kento stopped you, as he dug back into his suit jacket.
"Here." He presented you with his ring. "I want you to do it."
With careful fingers, you gingerly took the ring from his fingers and slid it back onto his left fourth digit. You peered up at him. "How are you feeling, Ken?"
He swooped his left hand with yours and brought it up to his lips, placing a kiss to the back of it.
"Like a million yen, my love."
And this time, he truly meant it.

Arthur feels his eyes roll into the back of his head as Jack, the insufferable man you've begun going out with, drones on about how his tiktok supposedly blew up, "It's got almost five thousand likes, mate, 's mental."
Isaac nods, Liv and Becky stand next to you, tapping through your phone at the photos you'd taken just earlier. You stifle a giggle at how as he continues to speak, more of your friends have slipped away to the toilet, called it a night, or simply tuned him out.
He was biting his tongue because he knows what you'd say if he were to so much as murmur what he really thought about this guy, or if he were to arrogantly laugh in his face saying how he got that in ten minutes of posting something.
To prevent allowing his internal, jealous rage to peak through his usual demeanor, he gets up off his seat heading for the bar, "Uh.. shot of southern comfort, please." Harder liquor should help him get through the night.
He lets out an exasperated breath he hadn't realized was crowding his lungs following it with several deeper ones, his skin feels prickly, and he wants more than anything to go home.
Thinking of how close you once were, about the few nights you spent in his bed, the only sounds being moans and heavy breathing. How you used to come get him after pub crawls and take him home, making sure he was comfortable.
You hadn't done that for months, not because you didn't still offer but because you expressed how Jack felt about you being alone with him, so Arthur simply stopped calling when he was drunk.
Nodding at the barman as he slides the shot he ordered to him, knocking it back like it was nothing, however, the way his face twists into a grimace and the alcohol burns the entire way down makes him realize what he's done. He knows how terribly he handles his drink but he went ahead and let his intrusive thoughts win.
Quite a few things are swirling in his mind as he stares at you from across the room, shamelessly letting his eyes flick down your body to your legs in those ripped skinny jeans, he bites hard on his lip when they fall upon your ass in them. Fuck. He feels all the blood in his body rush to his face when you turn and look directly at him. And dammit now you're walking over.
Never has he really been a religious man but he's praying you wouldn't notice him eye-fucking you or the way he was now watching the way your tits bounced against the tight, cropped top you were sporting or how he practically salivated over the sway of your hips as you stalk toward him.
"What ya up to?" he picks up on your sing-song tone. Just thinking about how much better I could be for you, he wishes he had taken another shot because then maybe he'd have the courage to utter that sentence: "Was getting a shot, and now I'm getting another martini. " He states untruthfully, but the matter-of-fact edge he has to his voice has you nodding, suspicion swirling in your mind.
His gaze lingers when you notice you wrap your arms around yourself, leaning your weight onto one foot. You hate how he made your pulse quicken, and when you saw him standing alone across the room, you felt a gravitational pull in his direction.
Jack never made you feel that way; sometimes, you felt the opposite. Arthur's just different—he always has been. He never made you feel weird about your interests; hell, you shared most of them. If you ever needed anything, you knew he'd be a call away, and vice versa.
You hadn't noticed how long you stood in silence or how he was reading you like a book until he said, "What're you thinking about?" His eyes roam over your features, watching you stutter with a knowing smirk, "And don't lie to me. You're an awful liar, love."
You internally swoon as the name makes your stomach somersault, "Just that I miss you, we never hang out anymore," he scoffs glaring daggers over your shoulder, presumably at Jack who you can feel staring a hole straight through you. His chin tilts slightly, eyeing you once more before murmuring, "You and I both know why that is."
Racking your brain for a rebuttal you come up empty, any and all words dying on your tongue, as much as you hate to admit it, he's right. You let your relationship drive a wedge between you, despite it not always being strictly platonic, the two of you were still incredibly close for years and all that's changed in three months.
Your phone comes to life in your back pocket, the custom tone Jack chose for himself echoing through the space between you. You resist the urge to sigh, his timing is always impeccable. "I'd bet you a tenner, he's suddenly ready to leave," you murmur, Arthur observing the screen with a hint of irritation in his gaze.
"He has a knack for butting in at the most inconvenient moments," Arthur comments with a dry chuckle, clearly amused yet envious of Jack's presence in your life.
You snort, it shouldn't be true for a man you claim as your boyfriend, but it is, you swear the more time you've spent with him the more overwhelming he's become, "Just gonna tell him 'm going with Liv tonight." You know that won't happen, she told you before you rocked up tonight, that she'd be going home with her boyfriend as they had set plans for the next morning.
Never have you been supportive of those who are enough of an asshole to break up with someone over text but you definitely might have to become one of them with this guy, he won't take it well no matter how you do it. If he made you feel how the man standing just in front of you, fiddling with his fingers did, maybe you would consider things.
He mutters, "She's going with Bach, you can always stay with me," his voice conveying hints of uncertainty and yearning. You lift your gaze in an attempt to meet his eyes, which he carefully sidesteps suddenly fairly interested in his ratty airforces.
"I was promised a Harry Potter marathon the last time we filmed with Chris anyway," he adds with a smirk. You can't help the way the corners of your mouth twitch. The fact that he remembers sending a flutter through your chest, his thoughtfulness always has you giggling like a schoolgirl.
You hum in agreement as you continue typing up your response, a playful smile on your lips, "I might just take you up on that," you nod moving around him in the direction of the bathrooms, "Let me know when he's gone, yeah?" you throw over your shoulder before disappearing out of sight.
Arthur watches Jack's reaction from the bar while he orders his martini, feeling full of himself. Your soon-to-be ex-boyfriend shoves his arms into his coat sleeves and bids your friends goodbye as he stalks out of the pub his jaw clenched so tight he swears he's grinding his teeth

Lucifer Imagine
Imagine: Angel Dust having to explain to Lucifer after the fact that you were flirting with the fallen angel.
Tumblr media
“You must be the King of Hell,” you said, your voice warm and calm as you looked up from your book. Your gaze shifted to the towering, sharp-dressed figure standing beside Angel Dust, the two of them making quite the striking pair. You closed the book slowly, savoring the moment, and slid the glossy brochure Angel had shoved into your hands earlier—a vivid, glittering advertisement for one of Hell’s more notorious clubs—between the pages as a makeshift bookmark. Rising from your seat, you smoothed your outfit and crossed the room with easy confidence. “I’ve heard a lot about you. I’m Y/N.”
Lucifer’s crimson eyes flicked to you, his expression carefully neutral at first. For someone nicknamed the King of Hell, he seemed surprisingly… reserved. After a brief pause, his lips curved into a polite, faintly nervous smile as he extended his hand. “Nice to meet you,” he said, his deep voice velvety smooth but tinged with something you could only describe as hesitation. “And please, drop the formalities. I’m not really a fan of those.”
You couldn’t help but smile at that, your curiosity about the infamous King of Hell growing by the second. “I can see where Charlie gets it from,” you quipped, and his smirk grew slightly, a glimmer of pride flickering in his eyes.
“She’s told me a bit about you,” Lucifer admitted, his tone light but cautious. His gaze flicked briefly to Angel Dust, who stood a few feet behind him, clearly struggling to suppress whatever sarcastic comment was threatening to escape. “So, Charlie mentioned you had some questions for me?”
“I do,” you replied, nodding enthusiastically as you clasped your hands behind your back. “First question: is it some kind of prerequisite for fallen angels to be ridiculously handsome?”
The words hung in the air for a moment, and you watched as Lucifer blinked, his composure slipping ever so slightly. For a being of his stature and reputation, he looked… flustered. A quiet, nervous laugh escaped him as he rubbed the back of his neck, his crimson eyes darting anywhere but at you. “Well, uh…” he began, his voice catching slightly, “every angel is unique, so we all end up with different traits. There’s no, uh, official requirement to be... ‘good-looking.’” He paused, giving a small, self-deprecating shrug. “But I suppose many of us are rather fortunate in that regard.”
Behind him, Angel Dust failed spectacularly to keep his composure. He let out a sharp snicker, pressing the back of his hand to his mouth as his shoulders shook with laughter. “Fortunate, huh?” Angel repeated, his tone oozing with mockery. He waggled his eyebrows at you, his pink eyes glinting with mischief. “Don’t let him fool ya, honey—he knows exactly how good he looks.”
Lucifer sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose as if he’d heard this a thousand times before. “Thank you for that, Angel,” he muttered dryly.
You felt heat rush to your cheeks, but you did your best to maintain your composure. Clearing your throat, you glanced back at your book, needing something to ground yourself. “Right, well, thanks for clearing that up,” you said, doing your best to sound nonchalant even as your heart gave a small, traitorous flutter. “Anyway, I should go get ready for one of Charlie’s exercises. Don’t want to keep her waiting.”
Lucifer nodded, his polite smile returning, though you caught the faintest trace of amusement in his eyes. “Of course. Good luck with that.”
As you turned to leave, you risked a quick glance over your shoulder at Angel Dust, who was practically vibrating with suppressed laughter. His grin was so wide it practically split his face in two. He blew you an exaggerated kiss, winking at you as if to say, Told you so.
You raised an eyebrow at him, shooting him a look that said, You weren’t kidding. Angel only doubled down on his smug expression, twirling a strand of his hair around one clawed finger like a lovestruck teenager. It didn’t hurt that Angel was right—Lucifer was ridiculously handsome. Though you were certain you’d never hear the end of it from Angel Dust.
Lucifer leaned against the bar, his crimson eyes lost in thought. Angel Dust, turned around with a smug grin plastered across his face.
“You good there, big guy?” Angel teased, tapping his nails against the bar. “You’ve been staring at that wine like it’s got all the answers to life’s mysteries. Lemme guess—you’re thinkin’ about what Y/N said, huh?”
Lucifer sighed, barely glancing up. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Angel snorted, rolling his eyes dramatically. “Oh, please,” he drawled, sliding closer on his barstool. “Don’t play dumb with me, Lucifer. Y/N was totally flirting with you earlier, and you just stood there like a clueless puppy. It was adorable, really.”
Lucifer frowned, looking genuinely confused. “Flirting? She wasn’t flirting. She was asking questions.”
“Uh-huh.” Angel gave him a deadpan look. “Sure. Because ‘Is it a prerequisite for fallen angels to be ridiculously handsome?’ is just a totally innocent question, right? Definitely not laced with any, ya know, subtext.”
Lucifer straightened up, his expression shifting as the realization started to dawn on him. “Wait… you think that was…?” He trailed off, the faintest hint of pink dusting his pale cheeks.
Angel couldn’t hold it in anymore. He burst out laughing, throwing his head back as his shoulders shook with delight. “Oh, my God, you’re hopeless! She was flirting so hard I almost felt secondhand embarrassment, and you—you just stood there, giving her a freakin’ lecture about angelic traits. Classic.”
Lucifer groaned, pinching between his eyes. “I didn’t… I mean, I didn’t realize…”
“Yeah, no kidding,” Angel said, wiping a tear from his eye as his laughter died down. “Listen, babe, next time she hits you with a line like that, maybe try something like, ‘Well, what do you think?’ instead of looking like you’re buffering, alright?”
Lucifer shot him a withering glare. “You’re enjoying this far too much.”
“Oh, absolutely.” Angel grinned, leaning his chin on his hand. “But hey, don’t worry. I’ll coach you if you need it. After all, it’d be a real shame if you let someone like her slip through your fingers just ‘cause you’re too busy bein’ all stoic and mysterious.”
Lucifer didn’t respond, but the thoughtful look on his face spoke volumes. Angel’s grin widened.
“Y’know,” Angel added with a wink, “for a guy who’s literally the King of Hell, you sure are terrible at recognizing when someone’s into you. Just sayin’."

beat it!
chapter four: written part below (wc: 800)
pairing: slytherin beater!riki x hufflepuff chaser!reader
Tumblr media
riki had let a day pass after the incident before he allowed himself to wander into the hospital wing to find you. he figured your friends would have visited you the day prior when everything went down, leaving him with open time to talk the next morning.
it was around 10am when he arrived to see you sound asleep in one of the infirmary’s cots. he figured it was late enough to wake you up, though he completely discarded any notion that you might have needed that extra rest after the unfortunate blow to your head.
he lightly tapped your shoulder, the small ounce of empathy left in him allowing him to be gentle in that moment. he waited as you stirred slightly. your eyes fluttered open a few seconds later, met with his expecting gaze.
“have i slept in too long?” you groggily asked, attempting to figure out who was in front of you. you studied the boy’s features in your tired daze as if looking closer at him might bring a memory back.
“uh– no.” he answered curly. it hadn’t hit him until now that in order to trick you into being nice to him, he had to be nice to you in return. his mind scrambled for something to say to you before he spoke up, “i just came here to make sure you weren’t mad at me.”
his pride held him back from offering you a real apology, even in this situation.
“oh, um. i’m not sure if you heard–” you quietly responded to the slytherin, “i lost my memories after the match. could you tell me why i would be mad at you?”
for too many reasons. riki thought to himself. he knew you didn’t remember him, but your polite tone was so foreign to him, it was throwing him off completely.
“i was the one who accidentally hit you yesterday.” he confessed, subconsciously wincing as he waited for an upset reaction.
your eyes widened slightly.
“well, it was an accident, right? that must mean you’re a pretty good beater if your throws are that strong.” you unexpectedly complimented him. riki would’ve basked in that compliment if it wasn’t for the odd sensation of guilt creeping in on him.
“er- thank you. i was worried you were mad at me.” he lied through his teeth, beginning to make an effort to inch away from your cot. he didn’t think it was right to keep this up longer. the way you were staring intently at him had him shifting in his spot.
you examined the boy, paying no mind to his discomfort. there was something oddly familiar about him. it was a familiarity that none of your previous visitors brought.
“what was your name again?” you asked in hope that maybe his name would bring something back to you– even if it was just a small memory. your question stopped him from finding an exit out of the conversation.
“nishimura riki.”
you repeated the name he gave you under your breath. you knew this name, just not the boy in front of you.
“riki.. i remember your name, but not much else.” you were basically studying him at this point, as if you were close to a revelation- though riki wasn’t too sure that revelation was coming anytime soon, but he drew closer to you, knowing you’d want to chat with him more. it would be worse on him if he just abruptly left.
“were we friends?”
riki sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck. he debated if he should’ve kept up with his lie to make things simpler. coming out and saying ‘no! you actually hated me!’ might’ve been too much to explain. he just wanted to say yes and find his way out of there.
“yeah, kinda.” his words were short, but it still had your eyes lighting up as if you were making progress.
he hated to admit that sunoo was right, but he regretted even stepping foot into the hospital wing.
“we’re a part of different crowds, though. i don’t think your friends even knew that we were friends.” he added that last part just in case you accidentally blew his cover by mentioning him to anyone.
“hm, why would they not know? we weren’t secretly seeing each other, right?” your blunt thought process had riki stifling a cough at the idea, though it made sense to you as to how he felt so familiar.
“no! it wasn’t anything like that.” he reassured you, unexpectedly flustered at the implication. “anyway, i have to get going. feel better soon.”
finding his way out of your chat, he awkwardly stalked out of the infirmary, hoping you’d somehow forget this ever happened. again.
“bye riki!’
yeah, he was screwed.

Robin had just gotten out of Steve’s car and was walking towards the doors of Family Video when she heard it. A whimper like the sound of a baby crying.
"Did you hear that?" Robin asked.
"Is this another deaf joke?" Steve asked. "I told you they're only acceptable if they're funny. . .am I going to laugh at this one?"
"No, dingus, I think I heard a baby crying! Turn that thing up!" Robin exclaimed.
"I can't turn it up any louder than this, Robin, I'm not a radio or a drug sniffing - hold on, I think I hear something," Steve said.
They moved to the side of Family Video that wasn't attached to the side of another building. They followed the noise to the dumpster that clung to the wall. Tucked underneath was a crying black haired puppy next to their dead mother and sibling.
"Oh, no, Steve!" Robin exclaimed. "Hey, sweetheart, we're not going to hurt you. Steve, give me your jacket."
"Why does it have to be my jacket?" Steve asked.
"Because I'm rather attached to mine," Robin said.
Steve rolled his eyes but took off his jacket and picked up the puppy, wrapping it up. Robin took the bundle from his arms and walked towards the car.
"Where are you going?" Steve asked.
"We need to take - uh, her to the vet, Steve," Robin said.
"Okay, but Keith said that if we abandon the store again we're fired," Steve said.
"Fuck Keith," Robin scowled.
"Yeah, which I'm probably going to have to do if I want to keep our jobs," Steve said.
"We all have to make our sacrifices," Robin said. "Come on, take one for the team."
"It's Keith, Robin!" Steve scowled, and then his face softened. "Now, if it was Eddie on the other hand. . ."
"I don't want to hear about your fantasies of working underneath him," Robin said. "Which you should tell him, by the way."
"I'll tell Eddie when you tell Vickie," Steve said.
"I've told her already," Robin said.
"Really?" Steve asked, crossing his arms.
Robin stared at him, and he stared back. Robin cursed.
"Damn you, Harrington," Robin said.
The dog in her arms started crying louder and moving around, her cries growing more desperate.
"Yeah, okay, let's get her to the vet," Steve said.
Once they got her to the vet, the doctor gave her a proper check-up and deemed her healthy except for the fact that she was hungry. It was hard to tell what kind of breed she was. The vet guessed something of a yorkie poodle mix, and then he asked if they were keeping her. Robin stared at the small black haired beauty in her arms, and her heart melted as the puppy laid her head right up against her chest while Steve scratched behind her ears.
"Yeah, we're keeping her," Robin said, looking at Steve. "Yeah?"
"Yeah," Steve grinned.
Later that evening, Steve and Robin stumbled into the door of their shared apartment. Robin held the dog while Steve carried loads of things that she needed. Well, it was really Steve’s apartment. He got it over the summer when he was kicked out by his parents, but Robin basically lived there, too.
"Okay, you know this means we're going to have to switch to different shifts so someone stays here," Robin said.
"Yeah, I figured that out," Steve said.
"I just want to make sure you were okay with it," Robin said as she cooed at the puppy.
"I think we can handle being away from each for a while," Steve said.
"I'm not sure if I can, though!" Robin exclaimed. "Can't we just bring our child to work?"
"Yeah, Keith let us off the hook today, but I doubt he'll let us bring the dog in the store," he said.
Robin got on the floor with a toy, showing the puppy how to play with it.
"Our other kids come into the store, and Keith doesn't say shit!" Robin exclaimed.
"Because our other kids aren't at risk at peeing on the floor," Steve said.
"How sure are you about that, Steve?" Robin asked.
"Very sure! Their actual parents had them potty trained a long time ago," Steve scoffed.
Steve got on the floor with Robin, flattening all the way out onto his stomach like she did. Steve smiled and shook the toy at the dog, laughing when she attacked it, her little tail wagging.
"You know with her big brown eyes and her dark hair, she kind of looks like. . .," Robin trailed off. "Eddie?"
"That's what I was thinking!" Steve grinned.
"Of course you were," Robin cooed at Steve and then turned to the dog. "Eddie?"
The dog looked at Robin curiously, then bounced over to her and attacked her nose with kisses.
"I think we found her name," Steve said.
"Oh, he's going to love that," Robin said.
A few weeks passed with Robin and Steve working to maintain their new schedules. It was going pretty great. Little Edith was pretty smart and picked up on so much, so it was a breeze teaching her things. Of course, it still left them too busy to do other things. Robin had just left to nap in her new doggy bed in Robin's room when the front door opened.
"Are you sure about this?" Vickie asked.
"They gave us a key for a reason," Eddie said. "There is something going on, and we're going to get to the bottom of this."
"You don't think they're actually fighting, do you?" Vickie asked.
"Why else would they switch shifts?" Eddie asked.
"But it's Steve and Robin!" Vickie exclaimed.
"Can I help you, burglars?" Robin asked, startling them.
"What - what are you doing here?" Eddie asked.
"I live here - officially now," Robin said.
"I thought - you and Steve were having problems because you switched shifts, but you're living here?" Eddie asked.
"I guess you two should be the first to know - Steve and I are with child!" Robin exclaimed.
"What?!" Eddie and Vickie exclaimed.
"I thought you said you weren't interested in that," Vickie said. "With him."
"Oh, at first, yeah, but it turns out that it's a wonderful experience," Robin said with a happy sigh. "We're completely in love."
"Oh," Eddie and Vickie said softly, the sound disappointment clear in their voices.
"Why the long faces?" Robin asked. "This is good news!"
"Yeah, real happy for you," Eddie said bitterly, his eyes blinking back unshed tears.
"Seriously?" Robin asked. "I thought you all of people would be happy about this! This is something you want, too."
"You don't need to keep rubbing salt in the wound, Robin," Vickie said, rubbing Eddie's shoulder. "You told us both that we had nothing to worry about, and then you go and tell us that you're in love with Steve and that you're having his baby!"
"What?! Where did you get that from?!" Robin asked.
"From you! You said that you're with child and that you're in love!" Eddie shrieked and sniffled.
"We got a dog! Steve and I PLATONICALLY got a dog together!" Robin yelled, her eyes wide. "Didn't I say that?"
"No!" Vickie and Eddie yelled.
"Oh, well, I meant to say that," Robin said awkwardly and Eddie burst into relieved sobs. "Sorry."
Eddie's sobs turned into laughter, and Vickie couldn't help but laugh, too. Suddenly, Edith came running into the room, barking.
"There she is!" Eddie exclaimed. "The star of this misunderstanding!"
"Her name is Edith," Robin said.
"Edith, huh?" Eddie's eyes twinkling with mirth.
"She's so tiny," Vickie cooed.
"Yeah, the doctor said she's probably not going to be very big, says he'll be surprised if she makes it to ten pounds," Robin said. "I think she's ready to play again."
A little while later, Steve came home to find Robin, Eddie, and Vickie playing in the living with Edith.
"Hey," Steve grinned.
Robin rushed over to him and leaned over to whisper to him.
"Okay, don't be mad, okay, but I kind of accidentally made them think for a moment that we fell in love and you got me pregnant," Robin said.
"Well, it's not the first time you made someone think that. It probably won't be the last," Steve said.
"Good news, though," Robin grinned. "They're definitely interested in us."
"This day is looking up," Steve smiled softly as he watched them.
"Also, apparently, they meet up a couple of times a week over tea and scones to talk about us," Robin said, and Steve hummed.
"Interesting. . ."
Robin leaned against Steve, the both of them watching Eddie and Vickie sprawl out on the floor much like they do with Edith. Robin bit her lip. Aside from becoming best friends, Robin knew that in this moment, this was the best thing that could have happened to them.

Only With You
Author Note: Based on the song You by Miley Cyrus
Warning: Fluff, Smut, A bit of Angst, Profanity, P in V, Oral (female receiving), Praise
Pairing: Jimmy Uso X Black OC
Word Count: 3,163
MINORS DO NOT INTERACT
You know I'm savage, but you're looking past it
I want that late-night sweet magic, that forever-lasting love
But only if it's with you
Andrea sighed as she looked at herself in the mirror. She finally was able to have a moment to herself, after a very hectic morning. She couldn't believe it was her wedding day. Something she has been dreaming about since forever. She brushed her hands across her dress.
She couldn't lie and say she wasn't nervous, but she didn't have a reason to be. Her fiancé Michael made sure she had the wedding of her dreams, not having to stress while planning. She adored her fiancé but- he just wasn't him. Don't get her wrong, she loved Michael. He came into her life when she needed healing and he was patient with her throughout that process.
But when she envisioned this day, she imagined standing with him at the alter. Now her heart was feeling that slight ache the more she thought about it. She was quickly token out of her head by the door opening up in the suite.
When she turned around her eyes widen. She had to blink twice, not believing that he was standing in front of her right now.
"Jon what are you doing here" she let out whisper-like. Rushing to the door peeking out into the hallway before closing the door back. She whipped around getting a good look at him. It's been over 2 years since she seen him. His beard has grown, grey hairs peppered throughout. "You can't be here."
"Drea I can't let you do this"
She furrowed her eyebrow in confusion "Do what Jon?"
"I can't let you marry him without telling you how I feel" He stepped closer to her, only for her to take a step back holding up her hand.
"No Jon," she shook her head "you can't do this. Not on my wedding day"
"Drea this was supposed to be our day" he emphasized "It's supposed to be me up there waiting for you to walk down that aisle"
"You had that chance!" she snapped "You had that chance then you blew it" her eyes began to tear up.
"Baby I know I fucked up and I've been paying for that every day since," his tone apologetic "the only thing I've been thinking about is you and how I could be better for you, for us" He stepped forward as she wiped the tears from her face. He stood mere inches from her looking into her tear-filled eyes. "I promise if you give me this second chance things will be different."
Andrea couldn't stop the tears that flowed her face, probably ruining her makeup. "But why now Jon. Why on my wedding day."
"I don't know baby," he took one of her hands into his, giving it a soft squeeze. "I just know I couldn't live with myself if I didn't come tell you how I felt. That I am still, til this day, very madly in love with you"
Andrea stood there in silence. Jon tucked a strand behind her hair, her breathe hitched at the small action. Soon a knock came at the door pulling her away from the moment. "Yeah" she called out. Turning towards the door.
"Sweetheart are you ready, you'll be walking down in 10 minutes" Andrea recognizing the voice of her mother. Her eye widening a bit.
"Uh Yeah give me a second" She turned looking at Jon. "You got to go" she whispered.
Jon heart ached a bit, "The choice is yours" His fingers ghosted pass her cheek before he left out the back door of the bridal suite.
Andrea sighed, gathering herself before she opened the door, revealing her mother. "Oh honey you been crying?" she asked concern.
"Yeah just thinking about the day," she slightly smiled "is the makeup artist still here?"
Her mother nodded before saying she would go grab her. They shortly came back and the makeup artist quickly fixed her makeup in time.
Andrea blew out a breath as she stood at the double doors. Arms linked with her father. Her nervous energy coming off in waves. Her dad giving her arm a slight squeeze.
"You ok baby girl?" his voice laced with concern. Watching his only daughter stand close to him all jittery.
"Yeah," she let out another breath. She didn't know if she was convincing him or herself. She looked over at her dad, nodding her head "yeah I'm ok"
"You know it's never too late" he leaned over whispering.
Andrea let out a quiet laugh, lightly slapping her dad in his shoulder "Dad stop it"
"Just know, no matter what your mother and I are right behind you" Andrea appreciated the comment, but she knew that there was more to it. Her father was never really fond of her fiancé, her soon-to-be husband, Michael.
He only tolerated him for Andrea sake. As long as she was happy and taken care of, he didn't have any problems.
"Thanks dad" She slightly laid her head on his shoulders, hearing the music stop and the Priest announce for everyone to stand. Andrea standing straight up, the ushers telling them where to stand.
Soon the ushers opened the double doors and Andrea peered down the aisle making eye contact with Michael. Her breath hitched as she did. She didn't even realize that she began walking down the aisle.
As she neared the pathway she made eye contact with her mother, who was dabbing away tears. That made her start tearing up. Mouthing a I Love You to her. Soon they made it to the steps of the Alter, Michael step down to meet her and her father.
"Who gives this beautiful woman to be married?" the priest asked, holding his small bible in his hand.
"I do" her dad said proudly. He turned towards Andrea giving the top of her head a kiss. He looked at Michael giving him a hard stare "You take care of her"
Michael nodded, taking hold of her hands "I will." He brought them up, standing in front of the Alter. Andrea quickly adjusted her dress with the help of Serena.
Michael held both of her hands, looking her in the eyes. Andrea gave his hands a tight squeeze as the Priest began the ceremony.
"We are all gathered here today. To celebrate the holy matrimony of Andrea Imani Lewis and Michael Elijah Thompson" he looked between the two, giving them a smile. "Today you two stand before God and your family and peers who all love and support you. Your journey together has brought you to this point."
Andrea cut out what the Priest was saying. Her mind wandering. Having doubts, thinking of the conversation she just had. The more she look Michael in the eyes the guiltier she felt.
She quickly snapped back to reality when the Priest signaled for them to say their vows. Michael going first.
"Andrea from the day I met you I knew you were the one for me. There's no secret that we've had our ups and downs. But they've only made us stronger. I promise to make you happy. Continue to put us first. Through sickness, health, wealthy or poor. I want to go through it all with you."
Andrea took one of her hands, dabbing away at the tear that decided to fall. His words hitting a soft spot in her heart.
She let out a shaky breath, knowing it was her turn. She closed her eyes briefly before looking him in his eyes. "Michael you've have brought out a different part of me that I didn't know was there. I feel extremely blessed that you've not only embraced every part of who I am, but also that you allowed me to truly to see you. No matter what we go through, I know we can work it out together as one. You have been my rock and helped me through some tough situations, and for that I am forever grateful."
She trailed off a bit, closing her eyes slightly as a lone tear slipped. "But Michael I can't marry you" Audible gasps sounded throughout the sanctuary. "I truly do love you but I just can't, I am so sorry Michael"
She let go of his hand turning towards everyone, making eye contact with her parents. Her dad giving her a slight nod.
She lifted up the bottom part of her dress, running out the building to her bridal suite. She quickly took off her shoes. She grabbed her phone walking towards the door. Before she could even get out the door opened revealing a distraught Michael.
"Andrea what the hell was that!" He stated angrily.
"Michael please I don't have time for this" She tried to step around him but he blocked her path.
"You just told me you couldn't marry be in front of our Family and Friends. Do you know how embarrassing that is!" His voice raising with each word.
"I already said I am sorry! I don't know what you want me to do" She threw her arms up in frustration.
Michael stood there for a moment. Her phone began ringing, both noticing an unsaved number calling and texting her repeatedly.
"That's him isn't it" when Andrea didn't answer he shook his head "I knew you were never really over him. Tell me the truth, did you ever loved me?"
"Michael please, I did love you-"
"But you were never in love with me" his eyes showing anger and hurt "I knew this but I was hoping with everything we been through that you could have loved me like you did him."
Andrea shook her head, the tears coming back "Michael I am so sorry" her voice softened.
He held up his hands stopping her "Keep your sorry, you both deserve each other" he gave her one last look before leaving out the suite, her parents soon coming in.
"Oh sweetheart" her mother cooed, bringing her into a hug.
"Momma I am so sorry" she cried into her mother's shoulders. Sobbing.
"Don't you dare be sorry, you did what was best for you" her father stepped forward, wrapping his arms around both his wife and daughter "I told you no matter what we would be right behind you"
She pulled out of their group hug. Her mother wiping her tears. "You go get Jon" Andrea's eyes slightly widen. Her mother chuckling "You didn't think I knew he was here?"
"I-" she tried to explain but her mother cut her off.
"I am not judging you honey, if you want to try again with him then do what makes you happy" She gave her a smile, kissing the top of head. Andrea gave her mother an appreciative look, turning to her dad.
"I may still be upset with him for how he did you, but I've always liked him" her father gave her one last hug.
She grabbed her phone, picking up the end of her dress walking out the bridal suite. She clicked her call log pressing the unsaved number. It rung twice before the person answered.
"Where are you?" she wasted no time, walking along the path.
"I've been outside waiting for you" Jon husky voice filled her ears.
She looked around the parking lot, noticing him standing outside his car. She hung up, quickly making her way over to him. They stared at each other for a few seconds in silence, before pulling each other into a kiss.
Andrea pulled away, slightly breathing heavy "I choose you" she said in a whispering tone.
Jon smiled, pecking her lips again "let's get out of here" Andrea nodded before he opened the door to his car, waiting for to get in. He closed her door, making it to his side. He started his car, swiftly pulling out the parking lot.
Jon held her hand in his the whole ride back to his place. After about a 30 minute drive they pulled in. Jon quick to come over and open her door. He lead them inside locking the front door. Andrea took in her surroundings. Standing in the very house they got together all them years ago. Nothing changed, their pictures still up.
She walked over to a photo they took on one of their many dates. Seeing how happy they were. His arms wrapped her as he leaned in kissing her cheek as she smiled into the camera.
Her fingers brushed over the picture, smiling a bit. "You still have this picture"
Jon walked over, leaning over her "Of course I do," he leaned down placing a kiss on her shoulder "I told you that I couldn't think of anything but you for these past 2 years"
She placed the picture down turning around in his arms, wrapping her arm around his neck "Truthfully I couldn't stop thinking about you too"
Jon bit his bottom lip looking her in the eyes. He leaned down bringing her into a searing kiss. "Why don't we get you out this dress" Andrea nodded as he took her hand, leading her up the stairs.
They got to the bed room, Jon standing behind her slowly unzipping her dress. Andrea biting her bottom lip at the feel of Jon's hands make their way down the curve of her back. Jon leaned forward placing a soft kiss along the back of his neck.
He took his hand pulling the dress off, letting it pull at her feet. Since Andrea wasn't wearing a bra she bare chest was exposed. Leaving her in her underwear. Jon groaned at the sight. He turned her towards him, put his hand under her chin.
He pulled her into another kiss, backing her up slowly before they fell on the bed. He hovered over her as he kissed along her jaw line. Andrea letting out a sigh of contentment. His hands caressed softly down the side of her body, finding their place on her hips.
He kissed down her neck, reaching the valley in-between her breasts leaving a tender kiss in his wake. He moved on to one of her breasts, taking one into his mouth, licking and sucking on one while his other hand massaged the other.
Andrea moaned softly as he continued showing both breast attention. He continued kissing on his way down, leaving open mouthed kisses in his path. He reached in between her legs, grabbing the hem of her panties pulling them off. Andrea helped by kicking them off her feet, now her intimate area exposed to him.
Jon bit his lip at sight, taking his hands on the back of her thighs spreading her open more for him. He kissed along her inner thigh, teasing her slightly.
Andrea moaned out, tired of the teasing "Jon please".
"What you want mama" He knew what she wanted be he wanted to hear her beg for it.
"Please stop the teasing" She practically begged. Her wish was granted as soon as Jon placed his mouth on her lower lips. His long tongue finding their way through her folds. She arched her back slightly as he licked and sucked on her sensitive bundle of nerves. "S-shit Jon"
Her moans sounding like music to his ears. He took two of his fingers, entering her at a steady pace. Andrea inhaled sharply at the new pleasuring feeling. Feeling the familiar knot in her stomach grow.
Jon could tell she was close as he felt her clench around his fingers. This made him stroke his fingers faster. Andrea moaned loudly, her hands gripping his hair as she released. Jon moaning at the taste, lapping up her juices not missing a drop.
He placed a few pecks on her clit. Her body jerking at the sensation. He kissed up her body until he was face to face with her, kissing her passionately. The separated momentarily as he pulled his shirt over his head, throwing it across the room.
Andrea pulled his back to her. Wrapping her arms around her to keep him near. He quickly kicked off his pants and boxer, laying in between her legs. The head of his dick poking at her entrance.
He slowly slid in with ease due to her wetness. They both moaned into the kiss as he completely stretched her out. He stilled for a moment to let her get used to him before he started to thrust steadily.
He increased his thrust, causing Andrea to pull away from the kiss moaning out loud, throwing her head back. "Look at my pretty girl" Jon left opened mouth kisses along side her neck. "Fuck I missed you so much" he moaned deeply in her ear.
"I missed you too" Andrea moaned breathless.
"Yeah," He sped up his strokes more. "tell me how much you missed me" Andrea couldn't speak because of the overwhelming pleasure. His large hands landing on her ass cheek, causing her to squeal. "Tell me"
"I missed you so much" She moaned out as her back arched, meeting his thrust. Satisfied with her response he landed another smack to her backside, then rubbed the area.
He leaned up, placing his hand around her neck applying slight pressure. All you can hear throughout the room was their skin smacking together and the sounds of both of their moans.
"Fuck I miss yo' pretty ass too" Jon took his bottom in between his lips, trying to focus on his strokes before he released. He smacked here ass as he increased his strokes, hitting her spot every time.
He reached his hand in between them, thumbing her clit. With this new stimulation Andrea drew her breathe sharply before moaning out loud. "J-Jon!" she placed her hand on his abdomen, hoping to slow him down but failed.
"Tell me what you said back at the wedding. I want to hear you say it again" his voice dropped an octave, awaiting her response.
Andrea couldn't form any coherent sentences, slowly becoming undone. Jon applied more pressure which made her body start to shake a bit. "Tell me what you said"
"I said I choose you" she barely got it out. Feeling that knot build up in her lower stomach.
"That's right, you chose me princess." He inhaled deeply, nearing his release. His strokes becoming a bit irregular.
"Baby I'm coming" her breath hitched as her body felt like it was going completely numb.
"Shit me too baby," he grabbed her hips for support as he leaned his body weight more onto her. "You gon' come with me" She quickly nodded her head not being able to speak. "Come with me."
They both let out long, drawn out moans with profanities as they came together. Jon still slowly thrusting, fucking them both through it. He down bringing her into a slow, sensual kiss, before peppering kisses along side her jaw line and neck. "You did so good for me baby"
Andrea lowly moaned, still coming down from her high. Jon got up going into the bathroom cleaning himself off. He came back into the room with a warm rag helping her out.
Once he was done he got in the bed and brought her to his side, as they both fell asleep together.
Part Two? 👀

Tumblr media
summary: leighton murray x fem!reader. reader brings home a kitten off the sidewalk and is nervous to see how her girlfriend will react. (around 1.4k words)
warnings: small mention of leighton killing reader and alcohol
a/n: first time writing here in a long time and in this fandom so if anyone wants to reach out for tips or just to be friends please do!
Tumblr media
Nobody really understood how you and Leighton were together. You were both pretty, sure, but you were so different. You were always more of the quiet, people pleaser type and Leighton was everything but that. So seeing you two together was a shock, especially to the people you guys lived with who saw that Leighton was the one person you weren’t too eager to please. You always felt that when in a relationship, your wants and needs were just as important. You could do without dating someone, but having no friends? That was a little more difficult. So when you came to your roommates, excluding your girlfriend, worried that she would be pissed at you for something you did, they were surprised to say the least.
“I just don’t know how she’s going to react, like, this doesn’t really seem to be much of her thing…” You explained. You lived in an apartment with your girlfriend and your friends Bela, Whitney, and Kimberly and let's just say that only one of the four would possibly have a bad reaction to what you had done.
“Okay, first off, who doesn’t love kittens? They’re, like, tiny fluffy angels of joy. But, um… if she’s not a kitten person, maybe we can spin this as a—uh—therapeutic emotional support thing? Or, I don’t know, is she allergic? Because if she is, then yeah, we might have a problem, but otherwise, I think she’ll come around once she sees its little face. Look at it! It’s practically impossible to be mad when it’s looking at you like that!" Kimberly argued. The kitten on your lap purred and looked at Kimberly with wide eyes.
You found the kitten on the sidewalk in front of Theta on your way to give Nico a case of beer as a thanks for helping you with some French homework and there was no way you were going to just leave the little thing there. So, you emptied out the case of beer (with help of a random frat guy) and put the kitten in the box and brought it to the vet, where you decided that you had fallen in love with it and couldn’t let anyone else have it. Telling the people you lived with didn’t cross your mind until you got home and saw three of your roommates sitting in the living room. Good thing for you, Bela, Kimberly, and Whitney were all immediately excited.
"Look, Leighton might not seem to be a cat person, or like a pet person in general… But, this kitten is about to ruin her whole icy vibe, and I, for one, can’t wait." Bela smirked at the idea.
“Oh my Jesus, Leighton is going to kill me!” You said, covering your face with your hands making sure not to crush the little brown furball that sat in your lap. Leighton’s image was very important to her and having a cute little kitten was for sure, not in her ideal look.
Whitney decided it was time for her to step in, “I mean, I get it—Leighton’s not exactly the ‘spontaneous kitten adoption’ type. But honestly, who can resist a kitten? I mean, she’ll probably be annoyed at first because she’s, well, Leighton. But once she sees how cute it is, she’ll come around. Just give her some time. Worst-case scenario, we find someone else who can take care of it.”
You took a second to think, “No I’m definitely going with Kimberly’s emotional support kitten thing. I think that’ll work.”
Just as you finished your sentence, you heard your girlfriend’s keys through the door and quickly moved the kitten onto the couch beside you and got up to meet her at the door. “God, Y/N, are you trying to give me a heart attack? Like, normal people wait at least three feet away from the door.” Leighton put her hand on her chest feigning shock and rolled her eyes then put her purse on one of the empty chairs in the living room before giving you a smile to show she wasn’t actually mad. She moved her hand to your lower back before pulling you into a short but sweet kiss, not caring that all of your roommates were able to see. At the lack of reaction from the roommates about the kiss (As used to you guys kissing as they were, there was usually at least one fake gasp every time you kissed in front of them.), Leighton looked around at all of you with narrowed eyes. “Okay, you’re being weird, what's going on?”
“Baby, please don’t be mad–” You started, immediately abandoning the emotional support kitten idea, before getting cut off as Leighton noticed the tiny, brown creature staring up at her with bright eyes. The look comically similar to a look you would give Leighton when you wanted to convince her of something.
“Y/N” Leighton started. “What the hell is that?” She asked, pointing at the kitten and giving you a tight-lipped face that, in your head, you called her ‘trying not to be mad at you’ face.
Whitney, Bela, and Kimberly all quickly got up from their respective seats and rushed into their own rooms. All of which receiving an annoyed look from you and Leighton, albeit for different reasons.
"Okay, baby, hear me out—this tiny angel was all alone and needed a home. Look at those eyes, Leighton! You’re seriously going to tell me you can’t feel your icy heart melting just a little?" You quickly moved to pick up the kitten and held it as if it was a baby while rubbing its belly, causing it to purr loudly.
You gave your girlfriend your best puppy dog eyes, or in this case, kitten eyes, and watched some of her annoyance soften. “"Okay, seriously? You’re trying to win me over with that face? Nice try, but I’m not giving in that easily. It’s gonna knock things over, scratch up the furniture, and I’ll be the one dealing with it."
“No you won’t!” You quickly argued, “5 people live here and Whit, Bela, and Kimberly all already love her so they will for sure help out.” Her expression softened a little more, but there was still a small bit of resistance left. “And I will never make you clean the litter box.”
This promise seemed to be enough for Leighton as she reached out to pet the kitten, "Okay, fine. I’ll guess it’s... kind of cute. But don’t think this means I’m on board with turning our place into a zoo."
You gasped and gave her a bright smile, “You are not going to regret this!” She gave you a smile back and stepped closer to look at the kitten with you and you took this opportunity for another, but slightly longer, kiss.
Leighton was finally smiling at both you and the cat. “Does she have a name?” She asked, causing you to smile sheepishly.
“Nutella,” You giggled.
Leighton, while still smiling, side-eyed you. “Y/N, I said yes to the cat but I will not be having a cat that everyone ends up calling Nut.”
You look at her slightly embarrassed as you had definitely not thought that through, “Maybe we rethink the name then.”
“It’ll come to us,” She smiled back at you.
Later that night, you came out of the bathroom after your nighttime routine to find Leighton on the bed, reading a book about some new mathematical theory (that she would attempt to explain to you later and you wouldn’t even slightly understand, but listen anyway cause listening to her nerd out was always fun for you), with Nutella laying on her chest purring louder than you had ever thought the little thing could.
“Looks like you’ve replaced me,” You joked.
Leighton looked up at you and then down at the kitten and smiled. “I think there’s room for the both of you.”
You laughed softly before getting into the bed next to her. Leighton put her book on the nightstand, careful not to disturb the little furball, and turned off the lamp. You immediately took the opportunity to rest your head on the side of her chest the kitten wasn’t occupying and brought your hand, which normally sat on Leighton’s stomach underneath her shirt, up to pet your new baby. “Thank you for letting me keep her,” you spoke softly.
Leighton brought her hand up to rub your back. “Anything to make you happy, Y/N.” You sighed contently, feeling her hand. “Plus, she’s kinda sweet. It’s like a really small, furry version of you.”
You laughed softly, “I love you, Leighton.” Your smile and tiredness easily audible in your voice.
“I love you too, Y/N.” Leighton said before you both fell asleep.

Sacrifices (Book 2 of 3 BTR Series) a Jhea Fanfic.
Tumblr media
Chapter 27: we need to talk..
Rhea pulled up to the house and entered the gate code. As the iron bars swung open, she glanced at Jeyce through the rearview mirror, her expression unreadable.
“Tell your father I’ll be home later,” she said, her tone calm but carrying an edge that made Jeyce straighten up.
“Yes, ma’am,” Jeyce replied, grabbing his backpack and stepping out of the car.
She watched him walk through the gate, shoulders slightly hunched, before it closed behind him. For a moment, Rhea sat there, gripping the steering wheel tightly, her thoughts swirling. With a deep sigh, she reversed out of the driveway and headed back to work.
Jeyce entered the garage and let the heavy door close behind him. His stomach churned as he entered the house through the back door, already bracing for the conversation he knew was coming.
Jey was waiting for him in the kitchen, leaning against the counter with his arms crossed, his expression hard to read but unmistakably serious. Barry and Bella lay at his feet, sensing the tension in the air.
Jey’s voice broke the silence. “Go ahead and speak. I didn’t raise you to be silent.”
Jeyce hesitated, glancing down at his sneakers. He knew there was no use in trying to dodge the topic. “Bart was saying stupid lies about Demi,” he muttered finally.
Jey raised an eyebrow. “And your first reaction was to throw hands?”
“I didn’t start it!” Jeyce argued, his voice rising slightly. “He—he said Demi was sneaking around with other guys, and I told him to shut up. He shoved me first, and I just—”
“You just what?” Jey interrupted, his tone sharper now. “You think that gives you a free pass to fight? You know better than that, Jeyce.”
Jeyce’s fists clenched as frustration bubbled over. “He was lying about her! What was I supposed to do, just stand there and let him say whatever he wants?”
“Yes, you stand there and let him talk,” Jey shot back, his voice firm. “Words don’t mean a damn thing unless you let them. You’ve got to learn how to handle this differently. You think every time someone says something about Demi—or you, or anyone—you can just throw hands? That’s not how it works.”
“He pushed me first,” Jeyce mumbled, though his voice had lost some of its defiance.
“And what, that’s supposed to make me proud of you?” Jey challenged, stepping forward. “You think I’m okay with you getting suspended—again—because someone said some crap about your girlfriend? This is about self-control, Jeyce. If you don’t learn that now, you’re gonna be in a whole world of trouble later.”
Jeyce’s eyes burned with unshed tears, though he refused to let them fall. “I was just trying to defend her,” he said quietly.
“I get it, son. I do,” Jey said, his tone softening just a fraction. “But defending someone doesn’t mean you lose your head every time someone opens their mouth. You’ve got to be smarter than this.”
The two stood in silence for a moment, the tension between them thick. Finally, Jey exhaled heavily, rubbing a hand over his face.
“You’re lucky your brother’s birthday is today,” Jey said, shaking his head. “Otherwise, we’d be having a much different conversation. Now, go upstairs. You’re staying there until the party starts at six. Do I make myself clear?”
Jeyce’s shoulders sagged, and he nodded reluctantly. “Yes, sir.” He hesitated for a moment before adding, “And—uh—Rhea said she’ll be home later.”
Jey didn’t respond immediately, his eyes flickering with a mix of frustration and exhaustion. Finally, he nodded toward the stairs. “Go on.”
Jeyce turned and trudged upstairs, his footsteps heavy with the weight of the day.
As the sound of his son’s door closing echoed through the house, Jey leaned back against the counter, letting out a long, frustrated sigh. Barry nudged his leg with his nose, sensing his distress, and Jey gave the dog a half-hearted pat.
“Just like me at his age,” he muttered to himself, a flicker of understanding softening his features. Still, the weight of being both a disciplinarian and a father pressed heavily on his shoulders.
Jey made his way to the cookie container on the kitchen counter, his eyes lighting up at the sight of the perfectly baked brown butter chocolate chunk cookies. He opened the lid, and the sweet, buttery aroma wafted through the air. A grin spread across his face as he reached for one, but just as his fingers brushed the warm surface of a cookie, a voice boomed from the living room.
“DON’T THINK ABOUT IT, JEY! THOSE ARE ACCOUNTED FOR!” Trinity’s voice rang out, sharp and commanding.
Jey froze mid-reach, rolling his eyes dramatically. “YES, MA’AM!” he called back, shaking his head.
Despite her warning, Jey quickly snatched a cookie, balancing it in his mouth as he closed the lid. He was just turning to make his escape when he caught sight of Trinity standing in the doorway, her arms crossed and a knowing smirk on her face.
Jey removed the cookie from his mouth and held it up in mock surrender. “It’s just one cookie,” he said, feigning innocence.
Trinity narrowed her eyes playfully. “You say that every time, and every time, there’s mysteriously fewer cookies than when I left them.”
Jey bit into the cookie, savoring the gooey chocolate chunks and the perfect crunch. “You should take it as a compliment. If they weren’t this good, I wouldn’t risk getting caught.”
Trinity couldn’t help but laugh, shaking her head. “You’re lucky it’s Jaciyah’s birthday, or I’d make you bake a whole new batch.”
Jey grinned and held up the half-eaten cookie. “Totally worth it.”
Trinity walked over and playfully swatted him on the arm. “Go on, get out of here before I change my mind.”
Jey nodded, still grinning, and headed toward the living room with the dogs trailing behind him. As he sat back on the couch, he couldn’t help but marvel at how the house felt alive—between the kids, the upcoming party, and even Trinity’s stern cookie rules. Moments like these, chaotic as they were, reminded him of what really mattered: family.
4:30 PM
4:30 rolled by quickly, and Jaciyah stepped out of the shower, steam rising from the bathroom as he ran his fingers through his damp braids. He smoothed them down with some serum, making sure every strand was perfectly in place. After that, he grabbed his clothes for the evening. He chose a black and red polo collared shirt, paired it with blue jeans, and slipped into his red and black Nike Dunks. A quick spritz of his favorite cologne and a glance at the mirror made him nod in approval.
As he finished getting dressed, Jaciyah reached for the chain his father had given him, tossing it around his neck with a practiced flick. He looked at himself one last time before heading downstairs, his footsteps echoing through the house.
“On my way to pick up Daya,” Jaciyah announced as he entered the living room, where Jey was lounging with the dogs.
Jey looked up and gave him a nod. “That’s fine. Your uncle Jon’s already got the ribs going on the grill.”
Jaciyah grabbed Jey’s Mercedes keys off the counter and headed for the door, but not before pausing to check in with his father.
“Hey, Dad, you got everything ready for tonight?”
“Everything’s good, son. I’ll see you later,” Jey replied, giving a thumbs up.
As Jaciyah stepped outside, Jey quickly dialed Rhea’s number, waiting for her to pick up. When she answered, he asked, “When you coming home, babe?”
“I’ve got a few things left to wrap up, but I should be home by 5:30,” Rhea’s voice came through the phone, sounding a bit distant but steady.
“Alright. I’ll see you then. We’ll be ready.”
“Sounds good. See you soon,” Rhea replied before ending the call.
Jey placed the phone down and glanced at the clock. Everything was falling into place, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that tonight was going to be one of those unforgettable nights—the ones full of laughter, family, and memories they’d cherish.
As Jaciyah pulled up to Daya’s friend’s apartment, he parked the car and looked around, taking in the quiet neighborhood. Daya had been staying with her best friend Hailey for the past few nights before heading to her dad’s house, and Jaciyah couldn’t deny that he’d enjoyed the extra time they’d been able to spend together. Hailey’s boyfriend worked as a manager at the Pizza Hut where Jaciyah picked up extra shifts, so he’d been working “double shifts” recently, just to be able to hang out with Daya whenever he could.
The past week had felt like a perfect balance between his responsibilities and time with her, but tonight, with Jaciyah’s birthday party coming up, he couldn’t wait to have her by his side.
He pulled out his phone and texted Daya: Here. Come on out. Moments later, the door of the apartment opened, and out walked Daya, carrying a gift in her hand. She looked effortlessly stunning as always. Her red V-neck shirt clung perfectly to her frame, and her blue jeans showed off her figure. The white Nike Air Forces completed the look, and her red and black hair cascaded down her shoulders in sleek, flat-ironed waves instead of her usual loose curls.
Jaciyah watched with a smile as she made her way toward the car.
When Daya reached the passenger side, she opened the door and slid into the seat next to him. “Happy birthday, baby,” she said with a sweet smile, handing him the gift bag. Her voice was soft, but there was a certain intensity in her gaze that sent a wave of warmth through him.
Before Jaciyah could say anything, Daya leaned over and kissed him, her lips meeting his with a tenderness that quickly turned passionate. The world around them seemed to disappear as he kissed her back, the pressure of the past week melting away as they lost themselves in the moment.
“Been waiting all week for this,” Daya whispered against his lips as she pulled back slightly, her breath warm against his skin.
Jaciyah grinned, his heart racing. “I think we’re both due for some time alone.” He reached for the gift, ready to see what she’d gotten him.
Jaciyah carefully opened the small box and his eyes lit up as he saw the delicate necklace inside. The gold pendant gleamed, and on it was a simple “D” engraved in a sleek, modern font. A smile spread across his face as he picked it up, feeling a surge of warmth in his chest. “I love it,” he said, his voice low with affection. He fastened the chain around his neck, letting the pendant settle comfortably against his skin.
Daya watched him, her eyes soft and proud. Then, with a playful smirk, she lifted her leg slightly and pointed down toward her ankle. Jaciyah followed her gaze and saw a gold anklet wrapped around her ankle, with a small “J” hanging from it, matching his necklace perfectly. His heart skipped a beat as he took in the sweet gesture.
A grin tugged at his lips. “You really do know how to make me smile,” he said, his voice filled with admiration.
Daya leaned in closer, her lips brushing against his ear as she whispered, “Only for you, baby.”
Without another word, Jaciyah pulled her in closer, capturing her lips with his. The kiss deepened instantly, the tenderness of their connection shifting to something more intense. They both felt it—their own magnetic pull, the unspoken understanding of their bond, the way their hearts seemed to sync in perfect rhythm. Time seemed to stand still around them as their kiss continued, the world outside the car fading into the background.
When they finally broke apart, their foreheads rested against each other, breathing heavily but smiling. “Best birthday gift ever,” Jaciyah said, still feeling the spark between them.
Daya chuckled softly, “I’m glad you think so. But the night’s just getting started.”
5:12 PM
Rhea yawned as she pulled her plum-colored Tahoe into the garage. The day had felt incredibly long. Work was draining, and though she had hoped the break she took earlier to pick up Jeyce would make the day go by faster, it only made everything feel more drawn out. But the one good thing about her shift ending was that she had managed to finish on time, at least. As she opened the car door, the scent of the evening air hit her, and the weight of the day slowly started to lift.
Dropping her bags onto the kitchen counter, Rhea smiled when she saw Jey lounging in the living room. He looked up at her, his face softening into a smile as she approached. She leaned in and kissed him, a gentle but affectionate peck.
“I’m gonna go upstairs and change, okay?” she said softly.
Jey smiled back, nodding. “Okay, love. Jaciyah asked for red and black, so find something in those colors.”
Rhea nodded, but the exhaustion was still weighing on her. As she made her way upstairs, her feet felt heavier with every step. When she reached the bedroom, she sat on the bed with a soft sigh, the day catching up with her. Her feet were now fully swollen, something she was going to get used to moving forward. Kicking off her Vans, she stretched her legs out, feeling the tightness in her muscles.
She undressed slowly, feeling every inch of her body aching, and headed for her dresser. As she rifled through her clothes, she could feel the tiredness consuming her, but she focused on finding something comfortable for the party. She chose an oversized red Civil Regime shirt and paired it with black biker shorts. She changed into fresh socks, opting for knee-length black Nike socks for a more casual, relaxed look.
By the time she finished dressing, Rhea was utterly exhausted. She looked at the time and saw it was 5:25. Knowing that they were still on schedule for Jaciyah’s party, she decided to lie down for a few minutes. The bed felt so inviting, and as soon as she laid down on her side, the weight of her tiredness pulled her into a light, much-needed sleep.
Meanwhile, downstairs, Jey began to realize that Rhea had been upstairs for a while. It wasn’t like her to take so long to get ready, and Jon had asked him to check on her. Jey, always attentive when it came to Rhea, quietly made his way upstairs, a quiet concern growing in his chest.
He gently pushed the door open and peeked inside. He didn’t want to disturb her if she was simply resting, but when he saw Rhea lying on the bed, her body relaxed and her breathing soft, he couldn’t help but feel a tug of worry. The exhaustion in her face was evident, and her feet, still propped up on the bed, looked more swollen than they had been earlier.
Jey walked in quietly, moving toward the bed. He knelt beside her, brushing a strand of hair away from her face. He could see how tired she was, but he didn’t want to wake her up. Gently, he placed a hand on her shoulder and whispered, “Love, you okay?”
Rhea stirred slightly but didn’t fully wake, and Jey’s heart softened at the sight of her. He smiled to himself, grateful she had finally allowed herself to rest, even if it was just for a short while. He stood up and pulled the covers over her carefully, then left the room, quietly closing the door behind him. He would let her rest for a bit longer, knowing she had been pushing herself too hard recently.
7:18 PM
Soon, the small get-together was in full swing. The upbeat rhythm of Roll Up by Wiz Khalifa played over the stereo system, setting the tone for the evening. The backyard was alive with laughter and conversation as everyone enjoyed the party.
Demi, who Jaciyah and Daya had picked up before they arrived, was outside with Jeyce, playing with Barry and Bella. The two dogs bounced happily around the yard, their energy contagious as the kids threw tennis balls for them to chase. The sound of their laughter filled the air, mixing with the lively beats of the music.
Jon and Trinity were sitting comfortably on the patio furniture, chatting and relaxing, while Jeremiah and Jeremy kept an eye on the crowd, making sure everyone was having a good time. Jesse, ever the protector, stood by the front gate, keeping a vigilant lookout for any unwanted visitors or interruptions.
On the large, oversized swing at the back of the yard, Jaciyah and Daya were nestled together, enjoying a quiet moment. Daya, having recently met Jey officially, felt a sense of relief wash over her. The tension she’d been carrying melted away when Jey made a lighthearted joke about how his dad had accidentally caught himself with Jaciyah’s mom. She laughed, the last bit of worry in her eyes fading.
Daya was a good girl, Jey thought. He was grateful that both of his sons had found someone special, and he felt proud that they were able to share these moments with people they cared about.
Jey, who had been tending to the grill, flipped the meat with practiced precision, making sure everything was cooking just right. He glanced over at Jon, who was lounging in his chair, enjoying the party but always ready to pitch in when needed.
“Jon,” Jey called out. “Keep an eye on the grill for me. I’m going to go wake up Rhea.”
Jon gave him a thumbs-up and stretched his legs out. “No problem, Jey. Go get her. We got it covered here.”
Jey nodded, a grateful smile tugging at the corners of his lips. As he made his way toward the house, he couldn’t help but think about how different everything felt now. Life was chaotic, but it was the good kind of chaos—full of love, laughter, and family.
He reached the door, knocked gently, and entered the room. The quiet hum of the house was a stark contrast to the lively noise outside. As he made his way to the bedroom, he found Rhea exactly where he left her—still curled up on the bed, her breathing slow and steady.
He smiled softly, not wanting to disturb her too much, but knowing she needed to wake up soon to join the celebration. Gently, he placed a hand on her shoulder.
“Love,” he whispered. “The party’s going great. You’re missing all the fun.”
Rhea stirred, a small groan escaping her lips as she slowly opened her eyes. She blinked a few times, adjusting to the light. “Mmm… did I sleep that long?”
“Yeah,” Jey said with a chuckle. “But it’s okay. We’ve got a while yet. Jaciyah’s been waiting for you.”
Rhea stretched and yawned, sitting up with a tired but content expression. “I really needed that nap,” she murmured, rubbing her eyes.
Jey smiled and leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. “I know, babe. But you’ve got to come out and enjoy yourself. Everyone’s having a good time.”
Rhea smiled faintly, though she was still clearly worn out. “Alright,” she said, swinging her legs over the side of the bed. “Let me get my shoes on, and I’ll be out there.”
Jey stood up, offering her a hand to help her up. “Take your time, love. The party’s not going anywhere.”
As Rhea slowly got up, Jey returned to the grill, where Jon had taken over the task of flipping the burgers and ribs, making sure they were cooked just right. He handed Jon the spatula as Rhea emerged from the house, looking casual and comfortable in her outfit.
“Looking good, mama,” Jon said with a wink as Rhea walked toward them.
She laughed softly. “Thanks. Sorry about the nap. I guess I needed it more than I thought.”
“No worries,” Jey said. “We’ll save the party for you.”
As the evening carried on, the atmosphere remained light and fun, the perfect celebration for Jaciyah’s birthday.
Rhea smiled as Trinity handed her a tall glass of the homemade banana chocolate milkshake. The sweet, rich aroma of banana and chocolate filled the air, and Rhea took a sip, savoring the creamy goodness. “So much chocolate,” she said with a playful grin.
“That’s all Jaciyah requested,” Trinity replied, leaning back in her chair and watching as Jey continued to work his magic on the grill, the scent of sizzling meat filling the backyard.
Rhea laughed lightly, the warmth of the moment settling over her. She enjoyed the calm moments like this, surrounded by family and good company. She took another sip of her milkshake and glanced around the yard. Her eyes caught sight of Demi and Jeyce, both kneeling on the grass and playing with Barry and Bella. The two dogs were wagging their tails excitedly, running back and forth as Jeyce tried to teach Demi how to toss a tennis ball.
“Oh my word…” Rhea started, a soft laugh escaping her. “She’s like a mini me,” she said, referring to Demi, who had a similar energy and presence to herself. Demi’s playful nature with the dogs made her smile.
Jon looked over at Demi and Jeyce, laughing. “I know, right?” he said, clearly entertained by the sight.
Trinity, sitting beside Jon, nodded enthusiastically. “I think it’s so cute!” she said. “Her sister Daya, though, she looks just like you if you were to meet Jey when you guys were teenagers.”
Rhea blinked, processing the comparison. “What do you mean?” she asked, glancing at her friend.
“Think about it,” Trinity continued, pointing toward Daya, who was sitting on the swing with Jaciyah. “Daya’s got that strong, independent vibe, just like you had when you were younger. She’s got a bit of that quiet confidence, and you can tell she knows exactly who she is.”
Rhea chuckled, shaking her head. “You guys are crazy, but I see it. I do. It’s funny how life works out.”
Jon leaned back in his chair, a grin on his face as he watched the group. “It’s like his sons found their Rhea’s,” he said, a thoughtful look crossing his face. “Both of them are lucky to have such strong women in their lives.”
Rhea’s smile softened, and she nodded. She loved seeing her kids, or rather, Jaciyah and Jeyce, find people who complemented them so well. Daya and Demi weren’t just good for them—they were part of the family now. They fit in effortlessly, and Rhea couldn’t help but feel proud of the bond they were all building together.
Jey looked over his shoulder from the grill, catching Rhea’s eye. He winked at her, his smile widening.
“Everything good, love?” he called out.
Rhea gave him a thumbs-up, her heart swelling with warmth at the sight of her fiancé, the father of her children, cooking for everyone with such pride. It wasn’t just about the food—it was about the family they had created together, the love they had for one another.
Jon raised his drink, toasting toward Jey and Rhea. “You guys are a good match,” he said, his voice loud enough for the group to hear.
“Agreed,” Trinity added, clinking her glass with Rhea’s.
Rhea smiled brightly, her gaze flickering between Jey, the kids, and her family. The evening was everything she could have asked for—peaceful, happy, and filled with the kind of love that made all the struggles worth it. This was their world, and it was perfect in its own chaotic way.
Suddenly, the smooth, reggae beat of No Letting Go by Wayne Wonder filled the air, making the atmosphere shift from laid-back chatter to something more intimate. Trinity, with a playful grin on her face, turned to Jon and said, “Come on, dance with me.”
Jon raised an eyebrow but smiled, clearly amused. “Right now?”
“Yes, right now,” she insisted, tugging on his hand with a mischievous glint in her eyes. Without hesitation, Jon stood up, and they moved toward the center of the yard, swaying to the rhythm of the song.
Rhea, who had been watching them, couldn’t help but smile at the sight of her brother and his wife dancing together. But as she glanced over at Jey, she felt a sudden shift inside her. The soft notes of the song seemed to weave their way into her heart, and in that moment, it felt as if the entire world had disappeared, leaving just the two of them.
She caught Jey’s gaze, and he seemed to understand exactly what she was feeling. Without a word, Jey stood up, his hand extending toward her. His eyes were soft but intense, and it was as if the song had transported them to another time, another place—back to Damian’s AIRBNB in Houston on New Year’s, when everything felt perfect and electric. The world outside of them had blurred, and for that moment, it had been just about them, just about the way they moved together.
Rhea smiled and took his hand, allowing him to pull her gently into his arms. As the song played on, Jey wrapped his arm around her waist, and Rhea placed her hand on his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart. They began to sway in unison, the motion slow and natural, just like it had been that night in Houston. The sound of Wayne Wonder’s voice filled the space between them, and it was as if they were floating in their own world, disconnected from everything else around them.
Jey looked down at Rhea, his smile deepening. “Feels like déjà vu, huh?”
Rhea laughed softly, her fingers tracing the outline of his jaw. “Yeah, it does,” she said, her voice soft. “It’s like we’re back there… just the two of us.”
“Back when we didn’t have to worry about anything,” Jey said, his voice low and filled with a certain tenderness.
Rhea nodded, her eyes closing for a moment as she let the music surround them. She remembered that night—how everything had seemed possible. How the future felt wide open and full of promise. It felt like a lifetime ago, but in Jey’s arms, it was as if they had never left that moment.
Jey gently pulled her closer, his lips brushing the top of her head as they continued to dance, the world outside of their little bubble fading away. The laughter of the others in the background felt distant, almost as if it was part of a dream, while the music carried them through the memory of their love.
“Tonight’s special, huh?” Rhea whispered, looking up at him with a soft smile.
“Every moment with you is special,” Jey replied, his voice filled with sincerity. “But yeah, this one feels like it’s just for us.”
As the song played on, they moved together, lost in the comfort of each other’s presence. It was a quiet kind of magic—no words needed, just the rhythm of their hearts and the bond they shared.
When the song finally ended and the next one played, they stood there for a moment, still holding each other, unwilling to break the connection. It felt like a moment they could keep, like they were both suspended in time, just a couple lost in love. The moment would pass, but it would leave its mark, a reminder of how far they had come and how much they still had to look forward to.
Everyone’s voices rang out, singing Happy Birthday as Rhea carefully lit the candles on the cake for Jaciyah. The warm glow of the candles flickered in the evening air, and Jaciyah beamed as everyone around him sang in unison. A smile tugged at Rhea’s lips as she watched her son, proud and full of life, standing there surrounded by family. After they finished singing, Jaciyah leaned in and blew out the candles, his wish a silent moment to himself.
Trinity, ever the photographer, quickly grabbed her camera and began snapping pictures of the moment. Laughter and chatter filled the air as the party continued, but then, just as the mood seemed to be at its peak, a shift in energy caught Jey’s attention. Jeremiah, his face tight with concern, approached him from the side, motioning for him to step away.
“Jey, I need to talk to you,” Jeremiah said, his voice low and urgent. “We have a situation.”
Jey’s brow furrowed. He knew the tone in his cousin’s voice all too well—it was the kind of tone that meant something was wrong, something they couldn’t afford to ignore. Without a word, Jey followed Jeremiah, stepping away from the laughter and lightheartedness of the party. They walked toward the gate at the front of the property, and Jey’s eyes narrowed as he noticed a car parked by the entrance.
The vehicle was unfamiliar, and the lights from the party illuminated it just enough for Jey to feel uneasy. He couldn’t see who was inside, but something about the situation made his skin crawl. His instinct told him this wasn’t just a coincidence.
Jeremiah led him closer to the gate, and that’s when the figure stepped out of the car. Jey’s heart skipped a beat as he recognized the man. Jey’s pulse quickened. His jaw clenched.
“We need to speak, Joshua,” Morris said, his voice calm but loaded with an unsettling intensity.

Childhood Dreams: Lost...
Raph sat alone in his room, just staring at the ceiling from his bed, his hands behind his head and his legs crossed. His position was relaxed. He'd had a long week of running around the city and fighting. It was fun for him, but too much fun was tiring, and he was glad to be having this sort of break. He needed a break, he’d been running around without his sai, he had to use nunchucks, Splinter may as well have just asked him to learn a new language. It didn’t matter, they had swapped their weapons back and forgot to swap again when they got home, the idiots got caught red handed and their weapons taken.
His eyelids grew heavier and began to slowly close as his train of thought quietly stuttered off into a relaxing stop, suddenly Donnie slammed the door open, causing him to be torn from his relaxation with a startled jump.
“Timothy’s in trouble, he called and acted upset about something, he hung up before I could ask–” Donatello spoke quickly, seeming panicked. Raph groaned.
“He’s probably fine, Tim’s just an emotional guy.” Raph put an arm over his eyes to block the light coming from the open door and hide his rolling eyes.
Donatello sounded a bit frustrated that he wasn’t being heard out. “No, he sounded like he was panicking, like he was going to cry or something, he didn’t tell me what was going on, he just stopped suddenly... the line just cut out.” Donnie tapped his foot on the floor anxiously. He was understandably worried about his friend, who always made sure Donatello was okay. He felt guilty that he couldn’t remember the last time he asked if Tim was okay. Had he missed something perhaps? Were there signs? Tim wore his heart on his sleeve, or so he thought–he didn’t know what was going on and he didn’t like it.
Raph couldn’t brush it off. He was only really friends with Casey, even then it was on and off, but he knew Tim was worth that worry, even if he was a little strange to Raph. Raph sighed and sat up, he was hoping they didn’t need to fight anyone, for once. “I’m sure he’s okay, but let’s go and check it out, just in case.” Donatello nodded. He looked prepared but worried. He looked at his phone to make sure Tim’s location was on his map now, but the movement was clearly a faster vehicle, not the ice cream truck Tim drove. It was too fast. Donnie was even more worried now. “We should hurry then.”
Tumblr media
. . .
Tim sat nervously. The roads were so bumpy he had almost slipped into them several times. The rope tying him to the back of the bike was too loose for his comfort. He clenched his teeth and curled his legs to hold on as he scooted closer to the driver of the bike. He had never seen these mutants before, but he had heard of them from Donnie—he had described the fish and dog, but he had failed to convey how terrifying they really were. Tim tried to lighten the mood a bit but he wasn’t feeling his best after the fight with his mom.
Tim laughed nervously. “So, is being a, uh, mutant very fun?” He had to raise his voice a bit to be heard over the motor.
The large dog mutant driving the motorcycle looked back at him with a piercing glare. “In some ways, it’s easier to recruit people like this.”
Tim smiled as normal as he could, but even he knew his fear was showing. “Recruit?”
The large fish smiled back at him with his wide mouth and sharp teeth taking up more of his face than anything else as he slowed his bike to be beside him. “More like force into submission, you will see how it is being a mutant yourself soon.” The fish chuckled as he glanced at Tim’s barely hidden terrified expression.
“What do you mean by that?” Tim’s voice quivered slightly, his smile faltering. He had always wanted to be a mutant. It seemed like fun to be visibly different since he always felt like it—if it showed he’d feel more justified for his struggles, and maybe he’d get some sort of power to wash away his fears. But he had seen Donnie’s struggle with it for years…it sounded so lonely, and he hated the stories of people running from Raph and Donnie in fear, sometimes trying to hurt them.
The dog mutant growled at the fish, snapping Tim from his thoughts. “Xever, don’t tell him, I wanted to see his face when he realized what’s going on, I can’t look at him while I drive.” The dog huffed and stared at the road with a scowl. Xever rolled his eyes and kept driving his own bike, catching up to the dog mutant’s speed. “You are so dramatic, calm down, Bradford, you’ll still see the mutation, that is enough for you.”

“You broke my heart, you know that?”
Issei calls out to the expanse of the store as he enters, foot barely past the threshold before he speaks.
“Uh, sorry?”
Suddenly, his blood runs cold. The voice coming from the desk is not the one he’s come to love, but a completely new one. He turns slowly, preparing himself for the embarrassment he will have to endure.
Sitting in her perch was a shorter guy, with a streak of blonde cutting right through his hair. He’s looking at Issei like he knows him, which is confusing because Issei’s sure this is the first time he’s seen him.
Upon seeing his face, the guy from the counter breaks into a huge grin.
“Oh my god, you must be Mattsun.”
Adjusting slightly to appear more relaxed, he gives a tentative smile.
“Uh, yeah. I am.”
The guy leans forward on his elbows, watching him like a TV show.
“How much money have you actually spent on cherries? It’s got to be like ¥4000 at this point.”
This peaks his interest significantly. He hasn’t told anyone but Makki and Suna about the cherries, because he had to explain the new business expense he’d been logging, so it must have been her.
This of course means-
“She talks about me?” He can hardly contain his glee at this news.
“Yeah. It’s not-”
Issei puts a hand up to stop the guy. He doesn’t care to hear what she’s been saying, for better or for worse. Since it’s likely worse, the knowledge that he consumes the tiniest bit of space in her brain is enough for him.
As he does so, the guy splits into a huge grin.
“You’re just like I imagined. Can I please watch you flirt? I need this for science.”
Before he can do anything, the guy behind the counter yells out to the store.
Yells her name. Something in Issei’s head starts to spin.
He wanted to know her name. So badly that he was chastised relentlessly by Makki for spending his whole shift on his phone with Suna. They had scoured every corner of her spotify account, looking for anything to identify her.
Tragically, she’d prepared for him. Her username was just a bunch of numbers, she had no profile name or picture, and all the playlists were simply numbered 1-16.
So yes, knowing her name was like fireworks sparking in his head. But this was not how he wanted to learn it. He likes that she makes him work; he wanted it to be a prize that he’d earned.
At the sound of her name, she appears behind the little isles and looks over at where they are. Issei can’t help but notice she’s in his corner. Where the cherries are.
As she makes eye contact with Issei, her facade cracks. Surprise, embarrassment, realization, embarrassment, collected, all in the span of a few seconds. She comes around to round out their circle, not really looking at Issei.
He thinks it’s weird seeing her from this angle. She’s not different, maybe a little nervous, but not enough to really change her demeanor. Yet, without the safety of her counter she looks more vulnerable.
“Is something wrong, Noya?” She asks the guy behind the counter, seemingly unprepared to handle Issei.
Noya grins cheekily, and gestures to the space between them as if inviting the show to begin. She glowers at him but he seems unaffected. Issei’s impressed; if he was on the receiving end of that glare he’d need some new pants.
Noya beams wider before turning to him again. “Cmon, let’s see it! Lay on the charm man.”
“You’re gross. And stealing from me by still being clocked in,” She bites back before Issei can even start. He just stands back and watches their exchange, like a spectator at the zoo.
Something in him is jealous of Noya and the way he can get her to shed her skin. Regardless, he takes what he can get. Despite his nasty gut feeling, he’s seeing a side of her he’s never gotten access to. What she’s like with her friends, when she’s not putting on her facade. Who his mystery girl really is.
Noya eventually concedes after being threatened short of death and is pushed out of the store. Before he disappears into the dusk, he whispers something to her that makes her eyes roll all the way to the back of her head.
She watches him turn the corner and disappear into the night, and Issei notices the steadying breaths she has to take.
Upon re-entering the store, she looks more collected. As she tucks her hands in her back pockets, she rocks a little on her feet. He looks down and notices the boots she’s sporting, and the tiniest little streak on the toe.
“So.”
His attention is brought back up when she addresses him, still swaying slightly.
“So?”
She shifts her shoulders back reflexively, like she’s ready for a fight. “You know my name now.”
He looks back at her, saying nothing. She doesn’t take the bait.
“What, you aren’t gonna berate me to death? Wax poetic about how beautiful it is and how it suits me and how when you heard it, angels sang?”
He tries to hide a smile. “Do you want me to?”
“No.”
“Then I won’t.”
She narrows her eyes at him. “What happened to you?”
He gives a tiny shrug.
“I don’t know what you mean. I’m still the same old Issei.”
Unconvinced, she glares at him a little longer. He takes it on the chin. When she presses, he stands firm.
Issei thinks she’s sorting things out in her head. He’d give her whatever she needs, even if it makes his knees a little weak, and right now that means a silent dressing down. His hands are sweaty.
“This is unnerving.” She admits after a few moments, then turns on her heel to walk back deeper into the store.
Issei waits a couple moments then follows.
“What is?”
“You.” She reaches her destination, and starts to restock his cherries.
“Haven’t I always annoyed you though?”
“Yeah. But this is different.”
She continues picking up the pots from the box, rotating them around and sliding them into their place. There’s about 20 little jars, only taking up a single shelf.
Issei lingers nearby, leaning on the doors of a fridge. His back radiates enough heat to make some condensation. “How do you mean?”
She stops for a second in contemplation; looking over her shoulder to peer at him again, turning thoughts over in her mind. She opens her mouth to say something, but closes it just as fast.
In her hesitancy, Issei notices a touch of vulnerability in her eyes. It’s hidden deep behind her irises, but he knows her now. With a blink, it’s gone.
Instead, she lets out a deep sigh, a bit of frustration and a drop of disappointment.
“I dunno. Never mind.”
“Hey, cmon.” Issei tries to probe her again, keep her talking, but she grows resolute in her decision. She quickly emits an energy that is impenetrable. He doesn’t have the tools yet to identify a crack.
He stands and waits for an opening, one that she doesn’t give. The condensation from the fridge starts to drip down his neck.
He feels a buzz in his pocket, and sees a text.
suna [9:57 pm]: ur gonna b late. get some salt while ur there, quit harassing women, and hurry up
He can’t help the small grunt of annoyance he lets out, resentment growing at everything around him.
When he looks back up, she’s staring at him in a way he’s never seen. There’s not a lack of emotion, there’s too many to sort. He expects her to glance away, and she does.
The whirr of the fridges is louder than normal.
“I’ll uh… I’ll see you around,” Issei starts, feeling oddly small. He scuffs his shoe, hoping she’ll ask him to stay, or ask him a clarifying question, or anything other than this suffocating silence. When nothing comes, he pushes off the wall and starts down the aisle.
He really does try to leave, but sometimes he can’t help himself. He pauses, and she watches.
“For what it’s worth, I think it’s lame your friend ruined that bit. It was kinda fun having the mystery.”
She takes the peace treaty gratefully, but still doesn’t speak.
“If you want, we can agree to forget it? I’ll earn it fair and square?”
There’s a little chuckle, mostly to herself, before she replies.
“Are you even capable of forgetting that?”
He laughs, somewhat from relief that he had managed to salvage whatever he’d fucked up.
“Nah, probably not. I can try though.”
She dismisses that with a wave of her hand.
“Why bother. I’ll just… put bleach in Noya’s shampoo or something.”
He grins at her, easy and open. She doesn’t return it, but stands up a bit more casually.
The unspoken words between them weigh heavy in the air, but it’s returned to a level that Issei can manage. They’re closer than he’d thought.
He realizes he’s been staring, trying and failing to place her perfume. Issei ducks his head quickly, before turning and walking out more intentionally.
Right before he reaches the door, he turns around one last time. To his surprise, he meets her eyes.
“I- I hope the concert was good. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
He can’t hear her from across the store, but sees her mouth ‘bye.’
By the time he gets to work, he’s distracted. Anytime a woman tries to flirt with him, all he can think of is the melody behind her eyes, and what was going through her head.
Issei doesn’t make that many tips that night.

She’s hunched over her drawing table, various trashed doodles surrounding her. Her phone is plugged into the wall, just above 14%. It always dies faster when she’s on the phone.
“I don’t see what the big deal is?”
Seven’s voice is breathy over the speaker, she’s out in the cold. She fills in the background of her strip with haphazard crosses.
“So he’s a little dorky guy with a crush. Is he threatening?”
She lets out a half-there chuckle. “No. He likes batman band-aids.”
“So what’s the problem?”
Her pencil tip breaks from the pressure.
“I-”
Instead of sharpening it, she fishes for another.
“I think he actually likes me. Like, not as a bit.”
Over the speaker, some rock radio comes over from Seven’s side. It’s loud enough that she can hear it. It makes her cringe.
“Is that so bad?”
The response takes so long that Seven has to ask if she’s there.
“Yeah. It is.”
She hangs up before she’s faced with the next probing question.

Tumblr media
These days, Leon bids you adieu in the threshold between your typical affection and your faux-innocence facade that comes with a side of fuck-me eyes. That’s when Daddy takes over.
When he comes home from work, he can sense the desperation threatening to boil over into teary-eyed, delirious begging so he gives you an offer you can’t refuse: he’ll be your chauffeur to the not-quite-luxurious sex-filled sanctuary of your shared bedroom. That is to say, he’ll carry you across the hall where he can fuck you stupid without all the back pain that a couch rendezvous would give him.
You greet him with a hug and a heart-eyed grin, immediately discarding all previous activities for his attention. You’ve been gorilla-glue stuck to the TV all day due to the once a week chance to watch all the High School Musical movies on cable — which Leon still pays for — one after the other. He can tell by your antsy legs, shifting from one foot to the other. It’s not nerves– daddy makes you relaxed. No, it’s a cute little pee-pee dance.
“Do you need to do something before we go have some fun together?”
“Uh-uh. I wanna have special time with daddy now.”
“Are you sure? If you need to go pee, daddy can wait for you.”
“I don’t need to go.”
Leon doesn’t need a polygraph test to know that’s a fucking lie.
But, you’re a big girl, or, at least, you’ve insisted that you are whenever Leon challenges that silly little ‘fact’ you’ve tried to manifest into reality.
The reality is: you need daddy’s help, particularly when you’re in this state.
Leon should take you by the hand and lead you to the bathroom, he should tell, not ask. But, it’s like letting your toddler touch the hot stove just once – they’ll learn their lesson and they’ll never do it again.
You’re an adult who has the reasoning skills to know that you should pee. Plus, it’s not like pissing yourself is anything more than an embarrassing moment and a bitch to clean up.
So, Leon doesn’t press the issue. Instead, he has you how he wants you. All fucked-out, your pussy stuffed so full you can see his dick in your abdomen and your brain completely empty of all thoughts (and your bladder so full he could make you burst if he pressed on your stomach with enough force).
As he often does, Leon makes you ride him because he thinks it’s cute to watch you struggle, and he inevitably takes over the job of gripping your hips and pulling them back down to meet his. Over and over again until you think you’re going to pass out.
Your eyes are screwed shut and your mouth is occupied with your constant moaning – until you have an ‘uh-oh’ moment. Leon can see it flash across your face.
“Daddy,” you manage through a shaky voice. “No more, no more.”
The thing is: No more isn’t your safe word. No more is usually what you say when everything feels so intense that you’re overwhelmed and need Leon’s reassurance. He rubs your back and showers you in praise while he continues to fuck you as the unwritten protocol says he should.
“It’s okay, baby,” he says. “You’re doing so good for me.”
“No, no,” you protest, shaking your head vehemently. “Have to go pee, daddy.”
“Baby, we’ve been through this before, remember? The first time you squirted, you thought you were gonna pee, but you didn’t. You liked that feeling, right?”
It’s true. You were absolutely convinced you’d pee yourself the first time Leon made you squirt, but you both suspect this time is different.
“No, I’m really gonna pee this time.”
You’re clenching around him, he can feel it. Maybe you are going to squirt, he thinks.
Piss is hardly the worst thing Leon’s been covered in – he’s 40 years old, old enough to give up on giving a fuck about this kind of thing. And, God, he’ll take any chance to tease you.
“Didn’t Daddy ask you if you needed to go pee earlier?”
“Yeah.”
“And what did you say?”
“No.”
“Was that a lie? Did you lie to Daddy?”
“Maybe.”
“Well, since you made your choice by yourself and didn’t want daddy’s help, you’re not gonna get it. You can hold it until I’m done with you.”
“No, I can’t.”
“You can.”
“I can’t.”
“Then, I guess you’ll just have to let it out.”
“No, no, no, no, no. I don’t want to. I wanna hold it.”
Go right ahead, he thinks, as he continues to fuck you, completely disregarding your desperation. He wants to see you break and at this point, you’re doing anything to hold back, on the verge of tears.
“Daddy, I’m sorry,” you start to cry as warm liquid trickles out of you, coating his cock little by little as pee continues to flow from you. You only leak a little in the grand scheme of things, but you’re humiliated, full-on crying to the point where it’s worrisome.
Finally, he slows his thrusts.
“Hey,” he rubs your back soothingly. “It’s okay. You’re not in trouble. I told you you could do it. I’m not mad at you.”
“It’s so embarrassing.”
“There’s no reason to be embarrassed. I bet it felt good to let go. Didn’t it?”
“A little bit… but I still have to go more.”
“Then, go, baby. Let it out.”
Because, one, it doesn’t matter at this point – he’ll have to change the sheets anyway. And, two, he finds the whole ordeal a bit more arousing than he suspected he would.
When you dare to make eye-contact, you’ve got doubt written all over you, like you think this is some sort of trap or a sacrifice of his comfort for yours.
“Go ahead. It’s gonna feel good.”
Nervous, but desperate, you have to let go.
Leon praises you as you finally allow yourself some relief, releasing short bursts and then a steady stream.
“You’re doing so well for me, baby. Let it all out.”
When the torrential downpour slows to a leaky faucet, his thumb finds its way to your clit and he resumes his thrusts, gaining momentum steadily.
Your next revelation is not an ‘uh-oh’, just an ‘oh’ in a series of incoherent moans.
“Daddy, daddy, I’m gonna-”
“I know you are.”
Neither of you can be sure if your next release is pee or squirt but what matters is that you came, squeezing Leon’s cock so perfectly that he’s barely hanging on by the time you’re coming down from your  high.
Usually, he asks you where you want it, makes you beg for it inside, and he finally gives it to you, but now, his face is already buried in the crook of your shoulder as he’s given into the pleasure.
He fills you to the brim, ruins the bed a little more for the sake of a heavenly orgasm. It’s totally fucking worth it every time.
After a moment of silence, he pats you on the butt and says, “hop up, baby”.
“No,” you protest, wrapping your arms around him.
“Baby, I’ll come right back, but I gotta pee.”
He laughs a little at the irony. It feels cruel in a way to make you piss yourself while he gets a more dignified experience.
You’re ready to even out the score, quick to turn the tables.
“No,” you insist. “You can either hold it or wait until I’m done with you.”
Leon should’ve anticipated your smartass move.
“You really want me to piss inside you? ‘Cause that’s what’s gonna happen if you don’t let me get up.”
It’s a threat, it’s a promise, it’s a plea for you to let him go.
“It’s only fair,” you say.
“Fine,” he concedes, repositioning you so that you’re on your back. Yeah, he could get up, he could win now that he’s on top, but maybe there’s a part of him that wants to do this. To make you regret your attitude when you find out what it feels like for Leon to piss inside you, to prove something to you, to punish you – there are so many excuses, but the truth is: the idea excites him.
“You ready?” he asks – though the question is more directed at himself as stage fright begins to creep up inside him.
“You can do it, daddy,” you say, voice full of genuine encouragement rather than your previous taunting tone.
So, he does. The release is double the relief with your warmth surrounding him as he lets go. You look awfully curious, almost in awe of the fact that it’s happening, especially since you can’t exactly see it – at least, not yet. But Leon’s feeling the type of relaxation that less obstinate people get from meditation.
“All done,” he says, knowing that’s a fucking lie, but pulling out anyway, letting the last droplets hit you on the stomach.
“Daddy!” you say, amusement barely hidden behind your mild vexation.
“Sorry,” he says with a shrug and a smirk that says he’s anything but.
“I think it’s time for a trip to the bathroom. We really need to shower,” you say.
“Hey, I just gave you a little bit of a shower, baby. If you wanted more, you could’ve asked.”
But that kind of shower will have to wait until next time.

Fours a Franchise
Part 19

Tumblr media
A male cop sat by your bedside that afternoon.
Asking you as much as he could while Judy and him took turns writing things and asking things as well. “Those men, who were they?”
“Hard to say.” You replied as calmly as you could. You were a horrible liar according to everyone but you tried your best to dance around the truth. Sweating bullets and being able to thankfully blame it on sepsis and medication.
“What about that night?” The cop asked as Judy wrote things down.
“They just showed up… Do we have to ask all this right now?” You coughed out sickly. You felt like absolute death.
“I'm afraid we do, Miss YN... Did you know them?...Witnesses  say you called someone.”
“Jill is the only one alive. Just say Jill.” You mumbled in agitation. Oh you wanted so badly to unravel her lie that she was SUPPOSED to be hiding under a bed and you were on the roof on the other side of the house fighting Ghostface when you called Stu. She was a fucking liar but you had to bite your tongue. You both had a deal here.
“No, of course not. Who I called wasn't those guys if that's what you're implying...I was calling numbers on my phone for help and accidentally called a distant friend I barely ever see. I meant to call Dewey and accidentally called him. He probably thought I was pranking him or something. Ghostface attacked me after that I dropped my phone in the yard and fell off the roof.” You shrugged. Trying not to look at the cop and keeping a poker face with the truth with sprinkles of lies in it.
The officer wrote things down, “Did those two men take you against your will from this hospital?”
“Yes.” You firmly stated and looked back at him. Not a lie. They did drag you out. That was God's honest truth that you wish they wouldn't have done but also what choices did you all have left?
“Their description?”
You tried to ponder, truthfully having to remember what Jill even said. She rushed it out while threatening you in a half delirious fever type of state. “I um…They uh didn't let me look at them too much…”
“Elaborate for us. Why wouldn't you look at your captors?” He sternly demanded
You softly raised your hand trying to find the words and swiped a hand motion over your eye. Getting nervous he might be unraveling you already.
“You mean blindfolded? Threatened you?”
“B-Blindfold. Yeah, they blindfolded me once in the car.” What a lie but a good one to save yourself. You didn't know if you could lie that well so try as you.might you gave a half truth. “I passed out most of the car ride, anyways. I didn't see where they took me like roads and everything. And um…And once at the house, I wasn't around them much and they didn't let me see them with being uh…Blindfolded and tied. I was way too weak to even try escaping…” You swallowed.
“Too weak?”
“Yeah. Too scared. Too sick. Too injured. I really was out of it and a sitting duck as a hostage.” You gave with a tight voice. God, you might puke again.
You yelled internally, ‘Damn it, YN. Pull it together. Tell some damn useful fake info!’ Especially now that the cop eyed you, pausing in their writing to analyze you.
You continued, “But um I did see them a few times and at Kirby's of course…One had red hair I think and far apart teeth and eyes. Tall… The other with dark hair had a hook nose and tan skin…Um…The tall one had a tattoo of something on his shoulder. Uh…Right. Yeah, his right shoulder. He… ” You debated but just went for it. “They reminded me of that Tim and James guy from Windsor years back. Just older and different.”
“So you think these men are the same ones from the 98 incident in Ohio??” Judy asked instead and looked intrigued at the revelation.
It was risky. It could link Billy and Stu to Tim and James like you tried 13 years ago…But it could also get them away from the Tim and James image and send police on a wild goose chase for a while.
You sighed, “The one's never found or proven? I can't say..Maybe? I was in too much shock. It all happened fast and I was on anesthesia once at the hospital and…” You sighed more begrudgingly this time. “This time; I was too focused on protecting Jill at the house than to get details on who those men were but they did remind me of them. I just know that the one definitely had a tattoo and the other had a hooked nose and gree- no, blue. Yeah, blue eyes.” You swallowed down the lies just spewing from you to save your ass while you felt your back sweating and soaking your hospital gown.
“What was it? The tattoo?”
Oh shit…Shit! Damn, what did that little murdering cretin say it was? Oh no…Think think-
You gave a tight uncomfortable smile and shook your head, “A Phoenix or Dragon or something? I don't remember.” Well the not remembering part was true.
“And if we reviewed cameras; would it match your story of being dragged out?”
You ALMOST felt a coughing fit happen at how dry your mouth was…But ICU had no cameras in the room, you remembered that much. Only the hallway.
Judy wrote all this down and nodded to herself. Hopefully that was good…
“Yes…I was dragged out against my will.”
———————————
Gale listened beside Dewey as they stayed out of the room but within ear shot as he was still technically on the case as Sheriff till he fully turned his badge in. Dewey seemed like he didn't want to see you, didn't want to be near you, didn't want anything to do with you, especially the more you spoke.
After the officer left your hospital room with Judy in tow, Gale went in despite Dewey trying to get her not to. It seemed she wasn't even worrying about Judy, just enraged at your lies. Dewey was trying to grab her arm but she barged in anyways once you 3 were alone.
You laid there still sicker than a dog but feeling more aware with the right treatment each hour. You gazed over at the woman you once tried so hard to see as a friend even after everything she had done over a decade ago. Look where it got you?
“What are you doing?” Gale demanded with a stern hiss. “What are you playing at? We all saw them and you know who they were. Shit, you protected them! You protected them from Dewey!”
You said nothing…Glancing over at Dewey in the doorway who wouldn't look at you. A frown and tense look on his face as he folded his arms.
“Listen, YN. I know now. Okay? I do. I should have listened; I believe you. I know Jill Roberts was one of the Ghostface's and she helped Charlie. If you help me; we can lock her up. Randy and all the other victims can get justice.”
Your eyes widened with a tiny glimmer of hope in you but you shoved it down and knew better. Gale could just be baiting you. Getting you to admit just to lock you up too. And besides…It was too late for that. They shoved you aside, damned you, and protected Jill. There was no turn from that. They could have killed Jill when she showed how she was the potential killer or at least arrested her and kill or fight Billy and Stu afterwards…You didn't know if you would've fought for Billy and Stu as much had Jill been dead but you'd be damned if Jill lived and your only support in Billy and Stu died because of Dewey and Gale. That hope was dead.
Gale stared at you as you were silent. She urged you, “Please just give a correct goddamn statement. Even just to us. I swear, if you tell us the truth, we'll get her…Damn it, do it for Randy. Wasn't he your friend?”
You stared at her long and hard. “...Because you're so trustworthy after everything you've done?” You mumbled then stayed silent. Anything you said could and would be used against you with cops or the media…Especially Dewey and Gale now.
“Hmph. So that's how it is, huh? You're gonna betray everyone to hide those two and to keep your own ass safe? Using Selfish Bitch." Gale spat not even whispering now.
Apparently you were a bad liar and a using bitch to everyone lately.
You just looked away wishing she would just leave. “...I told you that night.” You croaked out. “I told you and look what you did. What both of you did…I told you 15 years ago and then 13 years ago…” You shook your head to yourself. “And from a decade onward I've had to rely on myself…You both did this decades ago and now you're trying to blame me?”
Gale perked up and Dewey spared a glance.
You continued in a low mumble, “...I never helped Billy and Stu in 1996. I meant every bit of that. I swear on my life, I never helped them kill my friend's and tried to get them caught for it.” You told the whole truth but carefully in case Gale had a wire. “And you tried taking me to court to be tried as an accomplice for murder over a delay and possibly altered tape. A serious crime with decades of prison time had it worked and you expect me to trust telling you anything? Fuck you.”
Dewey subtly eyed you. Frowning deeply at ‘friend's’ knowing that meant Tatum too. Yet he seemed like he couldn't even bring himself to truly look at you let alone talk to you. Gale's eye twitched at you dishing the fact of what she tried to pull years ago.
“...Fine.” Gale shrugged mockingly. “Fine, you weren't involved then but you know they're alive. You knew all this time and you hid it…Why? Why did you hide it? Why did you buck me so much at Windsor? Whether we had bad blood or not; we both agreed. We both know who Tim and James are and the first description is accurate. Not this shit you're selling. We both saw them at Windsor, we both saw them a few nights ago in ICU and they do not have a hooked nose and blue eyes and red hair and a fucking tattoo. Why did you hide them in Hollywood? Why are you hiding them now? WHY?” She pleaded urgently with a frown.
You blinked at that but kept your lips sealed.
“Dewey has the pictures of you with them in a motel. Twice.” She threatened through gritted teeth. “I didn't see a fucking hooked nose. I didn't see red hair. I see a damn liar meeting up with two murderers…And they look like grown up Billy Loomis and Stu Macher.”
Ah…That's right. Randy seemed to mention something or maybe it was Dewey? It was hard to tell in the chaos. Regardless, you didn't care if it was clear as day…You were gonna deny it. You had nothing left to lose but your life and freedom and you weren't talking.
Gale seemed to be losing her patience with your tight lip routine. “Aren't you gonna talk? Why are you lying? Why are you giving false descriptions of them when those aren't the pictures you described at college? Andrews and Richard's description matched too…What happened to that scar on James aka Billy's cheek, hm? The one you insisted on at Windsor. Same side you cut Billy with shears the night before he supposedly roped you in against your will. He had gauze on his cheek at the party from you and he still has that scar. In fact, I saw it here at this hospital.  Why leave out that important identifier?...If we found this guy you had relations with or whoever else is on your phone; would he have a scar, YN?” She growled out through her teeth.
“13 years ago…I was under stress and projecting my trauma. I saw what I wanted to see and I think Randy did too. I was in a bad place mentally. But now that I'm more aware and better?” You stared at her long and hard. Lying but this was an easy lie to retell because it was a lie people already labeled you with. “...I just don't remember a scar now-”
“Stop lying!” Gale scoffed loudly, “How can you live with yourself knowing two murderers are free all because of you!? How can you lie to us all these years? In fact, if I was more shocked I'd return the favor and hit you like you did me back in the day; but I'm not that shocked. I always knew you were a liar, I just couldn't prove it. You probably did work with them in 96, right? You're just trying to make it look good, right?...Huh? Are you secretly happy that everyone is dead?”
You just took it. Numbly gazing at her. Anything you said would be against you. Gale was baiting you to talk and you weren't falling for it. They could claim they had evidence and you still wouldn't speak.
“You aren't even gonna defend yourself?” Gale demanded. “We could go through your phone, you know. We can see who called. Who you texted. Pictures. I can dig deep. I can find evidence at your house. I can ask around.”
You sighed and just shrugged. All while holding her gaze as you laid in that hospital bed. You felt like you had done this too many times and honestly? You were damn tired. If you did go to prison…So what? This shit was getting way too old for you. Might as well try lying and playing stupid and see if it's as easy as these Ghostface's act like it is.
She grumbled out, “You fucking -”
“Gale.” Dewey's voice rang out in a low tone. “Leave her alone…She clearly won't talk. We're wasting our time.”
You frowned deeply wanting desperately to talk to him, more than Gale, to explain…But you knew that was a wasted effort. He wouldn't listen. Hell, he could be bugged; not the same Dewey you knew. So you kept quiet as Gale stormed out before turning back to you and marching back to your bedside to get her final say.
She returned to get the final word. “You know, I'm a tough cookie. I can handle my maid of honor at my wedding betraying me. I can handle you being a fucking liar…But I can't handle you hurting my husband. He's done nothing but be heartbroken and who can blame him? A woman he looked at like a little sister knew the guys that killed his actual sister; that they were both alive! All while she lied to his face for 15 years!” She spat out, looking almost ready to hit you.
“Gale!” Dewey ordered in a shaky way that just didn't even sound like him. “That's enough. Let's go.”
You knew your face was failing you. The one ‘Woodsboro Family’ you had left thought you killed Tatum or at least Randy. And at best; he thought, no, he knew you hid his sisters' murderers from him for years.
You swallowed to get the lump down in your throat. Your chest ached as you looked at Dewey and you both locked eyes for a moment and you saw a cold look. Hurt and hate in his eyes you never thought would ever be directed at you as he and Gale left you alone in that hospital room.
“Dewey.” You mumbled to Dewey. “…Where's the Dewey I knew in Hollywood that nabbed my files for me to help me?…Or who read all my book just because I wrote it and found it inspiring?…And now you won't even talk to me alone and hear me out?” You tearly gave in to his revenge and anger and bitterness making him a totally different man. Like seeing Billy and Stu made him spiral and you know it was the cherry on top. “I'm still sorry, Dewey.”
Leaving you feeling more alone than ever before. Such a stark contrast from him 15 years ago hugging you and crying in your arms at the hospital and defending you…To being the one accusing you and staying away.
Dewey stared at you. His mouth twitched in a tight frown before he left you alone.
———————————
Gale listened as the officer interviewed Jill and her mouth hung open as Jill gave the exact description of the two that you did…It was a lie! It was impossible!
As Judy wrapped it up, Gale all but grabbed her. “This isn't right! Damn it, aren't you trained in observation? Didn't you see the guy that shot you!?”
“Get your hands off of an Officer, Gale.” Judy ripped her arm away defensively, “I didn't get a good look at him because he shot me after he hit me in the head but he was tall with far apart eyes-”
“And the hair? Was it dark blonde or red?”
Judy pondered, “Blondish?…No, Red. Strawberry Blonde-”
“No!” Gale grumbled at her memory being tainted by Jill and you. “Look at the cameras! Me and Dewey can give an exact description.”
Judy sighed, “And I believe that of Dewey.” Gale's eyes narrowed at the favoritism as Judy continued, “But we have two witnesses that claim differently and they match up even when interviewing them separately and being away from each other for days. And the cameras only show certain angles that match! We didn't see faces up close and the footage isn't in color.”
“Why the hell not!?”
“It's a small old hospital!” Judy exclaimed and shrugged dramatically. “And I'd rather discuss this with Sheriff Riley alone, Gale.”
Dewey's shoulders were tense as Gale rubbed her face and ignored the blonde's last statement.
Gale mumbled to herself, “I don't understand... How does Jill go from wanting YN dead and claiming she's involved to claiming she was… What? Just scared and misunderstood the situation? And how did they both lie correctly? They had to have communicated together recently under our fucking noses. They had to!” Gale ranted as none of this went how she expected.
Judy got out her notepad, “Do you want to give another statement? These guys…Sheriff Riley said Billy and Stu…He said in a past statement Jill told him that YN-”
‘Oh Dewey…’ She thought to herself as she watched him walk away and gave him space. The man looked defeated. Like everything he knew turned out to be a lie.
Gale and Judy blinked hearing something be thrown in the bin nearby. Gale faltered seeing Dewey stalk off. “Sheriff?” Judy worriedly called out to him as Gale went to the trash bin. Picking up his hat with a tight frown. For her husband to do that? To something he was so proud of and his job?
————————————
You took a stressful 2 days to ‘recover’. Everyday was you on edge and sicker than a dog, you swore your blood pressure was probably up and heart rate a permanent over 100 bpm. The police bothered you one more time for a description and you tried your best to lie about their appearance and you knew you were suspicious. Probably a shitty liar. Stressed and tense and nervous as Hell. But lucky for you, one thing was truthful; you did not know where they were or directions of where they took you. During the day, you were passed out. At night, you were feverish and it was dark.
You were waiting for them to catch you in a lie. To search your phone. You hated that Billy and Stu stupidly sent you here with your phone on you. Probably not even thinking with you close to death.
However, it didn't happen. Gale came to pressure you one more time with the photos Dewey had. And to your relief, yeah you COULD say they looked like Billy and Stu especially a decade ago but the most recent ones had them both pretty obscure while inside the motel on the outskirts of Woodsboro. In fact, you couldn't see them. Judy just took shitty pictures to report to Dewey. They had nothing.
Of course, when she pressed the cops once she realized you wouldn't talk…They questioned.
“Who are those men and why were you meeting them?”
You paled at Judy's urgent questioning on day 2 in a half of you in that hospital. You sighed…Damn Gale. Damn her.
"You mean the ones you followed me and took pictures of in secret? Stalking me?" I grumbled.
Judy remained aloof, "It was Sheriff Riley's orders to keep an eye on you at all times. Who were they?"
“...One is my mechanic and the other I met in Hollywood years ago…I met them for…” You groaned and was unable to make up something better. “We have…We needed each other.” You nervously coughed out.
Judy looked oblivious. “And what for?”
Despite yourself you felt flustered because even as a lie; you didn't feel like claiming a booty call. “Um…Relations.”
She blinked.
You narrowed your eyes; dear lord how did she have a kid?
“Sex.”
Judy's eyes widened even buggier than usual. “Oh…OH!” She wrote something down. “You with…Both??”
“Yes.” You forced out cheeks heating and a glare at the wall. “I have a well known name and I know how unconventional it is so they're a secret.”
Judy cleared her throat and uncomfortably adjusted herself. “Well…Ms. YN. There's no room for secrets with a string of murders. Where are they?”
“Don't know, we called it off.”
“Oh really? And what were their names?”
You shrugged, “Vincent and Den..Nis. Dennis.”
Judy raised a brow. “Last names?”
“Vincent never told me his last name.”
“And you never asked??” Judy looked bewildered.
You blew air through clenched teeth, “Look it was never serious enough. Not everything is a Disney Romance, you know... Vincent is just a guy that works at some mechanic shop that I think is closed now and we have…Look we just have quick relations, okay?” You grumbled wanting to be anywhere but here.
“And Dennis? You met him in Hollywood? During Stab? Could it be-” She gasped. “...The actor?! Rafkin?”
You winced, “...Um…Maybe...Yes. He keeps a low profile probably out of the Country on Holiday.” Unable to get out of this one.
“Do you have their numbers?”
“Yes but I doubt they'd answer. We called it off.” You gazed over at her. “And they weren't involved. I promise I know my…-” You grimaced. “Guys and they were not the two guys involved in this.”
Judy wrote things down. “You know we can get a warrant to look through your phone-”
“You can now.” You swallowed hoping doing this might make you look more innocent.
You felt your palms sweating as she looked. Then raised a brow seeing ‘Vincent’ texts. “What's this?”
“We spoke secretly because I did not want Randy and them to look down on me for my private life…We called in secret. I heard a noise and thought it was the killer and it wasn't. So he texted me frantically thinking something happened.”
And that was the honest truth, actually…Hm. Maybe this lying thing wasn't too hard. Just tell what truth you could throughout the lies.
Judy nodded looking through your phone seeing you had called an ‘unknown’ number the night at Kirby's.
“That was Dennis. I meant to press Dewey's contact. I always kept his unknown because he was so…Embarrassed over being with someone like me.” You forced yourself to give as if a woman scorned.
She eyed you and you prayed she bought it. To your immense relief, she handed you the phone. “You deserve better. Especially if he's the same guy I heard you arguing with at Mr's Meeks' house in the backyard. I know how tough a situationship can be, believe it or not.”
“Can't argue with that.” You sighed out in relief.
“Well, for now, they're not suspects or witnesses. We aren't resting till we capture these guys that kidnapped you though. Murderers, kidnappers, one shot an officer and could've killed me…I swear, I'll never forget his face…I swear he looked familiar.”
You forced a head nod but felt tension at that. That tension didn't leave even as she finally left. All it would take is watching a movie with Dennis and boom.
You heard Gale arguing with her down the hall and you rolled your eyes. You saw Judy warn Gale to back off of police business. Showing her badge for emphasis through the window.
Gale wasn't gonna stop. She just wasn't. And if she did? It would be a while. Years of watching your back, who you talked to, who you called, what you said.
You sighed and leaned back, closing your eyes in your elevated hospital bed. You couldn't go home fast enough. No more hustle and bustle, no more interviews, no more book signings, no more. You didn't care if you had to work remotely or a shitty normal job  if it meant peace. A nice domestically slow leisurely life. You were so damn eager after all this time and all this stress; so much grief fueling you to shut yourself away like you did a decade ago. Only this time no Randy or Dewey by your side.
It was a little bit later that you turned on your tv while trying to stomach food of some sort…Every news station was you and Woodsboro and…Jill Roberts.
You declined every single interview not only to appease that little monster but because you just wanted to be done with the limelight. If Jill wanted all eyes on her like a spoiled brat? So be it!
Your eyes narrowed and a sickening feeling came up as Jill played the victim in her hospital room still down the hall from you. Most likely an interview from earlier today.
“It was terrifying…I'm just so glad me and YN made it. YN really fought hard but after she went down I did what I had to survive and finish off Charlie and the other two thankfully stayed down…It was traumatic.” She dabbed her eyes.
That lying little bitch.
You felt anger well up in you. There was no answer. Either go to prison for god knows how long and have your name tainted to HOPEFULLY get her to go to prison too…Or suck it up that the person that murdered her friends and yours; got away with it. Clearly the police after interviewing you both separately again and again were positive despite Dewey or Gale's rambling and a stray nurse or doctor that didn't line up. The police and media seemed to think that you weren't involved and sadly neither was that piece of teenage shit.
Two crudely drawn pictures of ‘suspects’ were up. They somewhat resemble Billy and Stu but not quite. Not enough to pick them out of a crowd right away. Thankfully after you ‘admitted’ to Windsor pictures of Billy and Stu as Tim and James not being accurate and Randy unable to buck you or those two Detectives; they weren't reliable now. Just a traumatized teen girl that needed on meds back in ‘98 that poorly convinced, but convinced nonetheless, the authorities that the current sketch was more accurate of ‘Tim and James’ aka the guys ‘Most likely’ involved. Vincent and Dennis may need to change their look and lay low for a year or two. Maybe even change identities…But they might get away too, and despite how wrong it was, you were kinda…Relieved.
You groaned and turned your tv off. Unable to listen to Jill's fucking lies. She lied much better than you did but thankfully since both your stories matched and they had no idea the cunning weasel Jill was. No clue she called you in secret on someone's phone or even the hospital staff for all you knew with how devious she was…Who would contradict your statements? Your ‘description’ matched up and you two were the only ones at the house to say so and the hospital had a few camera shots of them but too many contradictions. Judy barely got a glimpse of them and could clearly easily be swayed. Dewey was ranting like a lunatic that it was Billy and Stu and was obviously discredited for it and Gale was 50/50 if people would believe her.
Dewey and Gale's descriptions were accurate and looked like Billy and Stu who were supposed to be dead. You and Jill's description match for the most part and you both were the victims at the house and both of you feigned innocence that ‘How could they possibly be Billy and Stu? There's no way.’
Who would the cops and the media believe? Exactly.
You closed your eyes. Back to square one. Being the innocent sweetheart was good while it lasted but you knew it wouldn't last forever. Just like you knew it wouldn't last for Jill either…She'll find out the hard way attention isn't always good.
You knew conspiracy theorists would side with Gale and Dewey just like they did in the 90's when Gale made her claims you were involved. Some believer had attacked you at your damn house. And truthfully, this time around they'd be half correct. But thankfully, no one but tinfoil hats and naysayers would trust Gale's word over you, Jill and the media.
————————————
Gale paced their house. “This is bullshit…” She shoved a newspaper onto the table. “Utter bullshit, Dewey!”
Dewey clutched his head. Yesterday still on his mind and today. He had to identify Randy Meeks body for Karla before they planned any final arrangements yesterday. He didn't want Karla to have that on her…Seeing his lifeless face.
The legal battle of Randy being Jewish and the state versus his religion on keeping his body for examination way past 24 hours for any evidence. He looked like a Halloween prop to Dewey. Skin unnatural from being kept on ice so to speak. They made sure he was not embalmed, at least only kept on ice and a Rabbi performed the right ceremonies for him. The Jewish Community the Meeks were a part of, including his sister Martha, fought the authorities wanting his body buried immediately while coroner's had to gather as much evidence as possible. Fibers, prints, how he was killed, if the knife matched a suspect.
It was only after determining the killer was most likely Charlie after finding knife patterns matching his Dad's hunting knife and shoe prints matching his in the mud and a hair found almost days later on Randy's jeans matching Charlie that they could put him to rest…Even though there was plenty of other contaminated evidence from the party on him and even if arguably some evidence was overlooked. Dewey just had to confirm the body one more time before putting him to rest. The coroner wanted more time but was legally advised along with the police department not to. That they had already pushed Jewish law enough as it was for the examination and Randy's family would win in court if they were taken there, something they threatened if even one more day went by. After all, his body had been kept for over a few days.
Bruises on the neck from the rope, lifeless features, skin so cold it was blue with veins showing. He couldn't imagine how much sewing they had to do to his body under that sheet despite his religion; or else his innards would be spilling out everywhere while on the examination table. When they opened his eyes slightly, lifting the lids, they were gray and dead…He looked nothing like fun jovial smart alec Randy and yet it was him.
“Are you listening!?” Gale snapped.
“No.” Dewey mumbled in a strained voice, nursing whiskey. It has become a crutch to sleep and to loosen up right now. “No, I'm not. I had a pretty bad few days, Gale.”
Gale went to snap a snarky remark but faltered. Then with a heavy sigh she leaned over the table. “...I know this was a shitty week. But if anything, it's more of a reason to not stop fighting.” She pointed at the table. “Do. Not. Give. Up.”
Dewey leaned back looking at her. A lot of hope drained from him the last few days. “...And what? It's an open investigation now turning into a cold case.” He groaned and lightly smacked the table. “There are multiple fingerprints, one might match Billy Loomis from ‘96 but what will that do if they're nowhere to be found and no evidence they're alive? You said it yourself! We'll be laughed out of the courtroom. They'll claim the fingerprints were unreliable smudges or someone else. Same with the blood. If they aren't in the system paying taxes or buying things from reputable places or have credit scores then what good does it do? They might not even be in the Country now.” He shook his head.
“So what?” Gale urged. “And we don't know that. If they're stupid enough to stick around to help YN-”
Dewey winced at that, “Can we just stop talking about it?”
Gale looked dumbfounded but sat down. “...Don't you want this solved?”
He scoffed, “Of course I do! But if Billy and Stu are never found then what good does it do?”
“Um, incriminating Jill? The actual killer.” She grumbled. “If you won't search Jill's phone records then I will go to the Attorney General and get a subpoena.”
Dewey glared at his wife, “No you won't.”
“And what's stopping me? Why not!?” She demanded at her wits end with her husband  going in circles. “Still think Jill's innocent?”
Dewey's mouth twitched and he rested his chin on his forearm on the table, “I don't know what to think anymore…But you are not going to rock this case until we find Billy Loomis and Stu Macher.”
“Why?” Gale demanded harsher this time. “What's stopping me from just pointing it out online to some crime junkie then?! That video was shot in Jill's room Dewey and it's obvious and I can't believe you and your department are glossing over it!”
“Because you're not throwing YN in prison, alright!?” He finally snapped before his voice and face wavered. “If you search Jill's phone and we find that evidence or we overanalyze the video and prove it was there then a case will go to court and…I don't know how much YN is involved. But I just…I just can't send her to prison until those bastards go first!...Besides, a video isn't enough without DNA and eyewitness testimony…Kirby said nothing about Jill or YN, only Charlie, and both their stories match up suddenly. We're the odd ones out here and Judy was knocked out before she could truly see them…All you'll do is send YN to prison, possibly Jill and those two jerks walk free like they have for 15 years.” He firmly declared.
Gale looked bewildered, “I can't believe this.” She huffed with a shake of her head. “You told her to get out and never come back. You were hunting her down. You wanted to arrest her if it meant getting answers-”
“I wasn't thinking, Gale.” He grumbled and sipped his glass. “Maybe…Maybe I do think Jill could be what you claim?” Gale looked pleasantly surprised but he continued, “Maybe I realize this is bigger than I thought? Maybe, just maybe, I still have a bit of faith in YN that she wouldn't do any of this unless blackmail or forced or something…Why else would she come back? Why else would they send her here? You saw her! She was fighting them down the hall! She didn't want to go-”
Gale scoffed and got up from her chair, “You're being an idiot!”
“And you're being an opportunist.” He bitterly told her. “You're being the Gale I broke up with years ago. It always comes full circle for you, doesn't it?” Gale stiffened at his tipsy words and looser tongue as he buried his weary head in his arms on the table.
“Hey, it does not! I have a career!” She argued seeing Dewey get more tipsy it seemed by the hour. Minute even.
“Randy's dead. YN's a Traitor whether by force or her own will. Jill could be the victim or the killer. Billy and Stu lived and are out free. Hell, maybe I'm the killer at this point? Or you!” He slurred with a pitiful groan.
She huffed, rolling her eyes and taking the bottle from him. Gale gazed down at him and her usual stoic smugness softened. “...I know this is probably harder on you than it is me and we're being assholes to each other.” She sat the bottle aside and cupped his cheek as he damn near pouted at her. She sighed and softly ordered. “I think you need to take care of yourself with sleep and food that isn't liquid.”
He grumbled, “No…I gotta keep looking, you said it yourself we can't give up. But for them, not YN and Jill. I want them to suffer, I want them to face justice damn it.”
She sighed again and combed his short hair back a bit with her fingers. “Yeah, I know. But the biggest evidence to incriminate Jill Roberts and put the murderer away is on her phone, Dewey. It's right there.”
“And the biggest evidence of all is Billy Loomis and Stu Macher.” He enunciated their names.
“Look. Two things can be right, ya know.”
“Not until we get them. I know YN, Gale…They got something on her…She's scared and won't talk cause she's worried.”
“Yeah, worried about her own ass.” Gale grumbled under her breath as she pulled away.
“What?”
“Nothing.” She straightened herself. “Dewey, c'mon. You cannot just let the case go cold until we find Billy and Stu; if we find them. What? Are you just giving up because we may never find them?”
He shrugged tiredly, dark eyes dropping. “Maybe. The media is having a field day with Jill and we would need a LOT of evidence to make her guilty IF she is and you're right somehow.”
Gale reluctantly agreed in a grunt of resignation. Jill was sweet as pie right now and the media was in her favor.
“And YN was already made to look guilty from yyoouu-” He pointed at her, “She'll get blamed for something those two did!”
She sighed and rolled her eyes, “Oh yeah? May I remind you she lied and shielded Billy Loomis from being shot. Twice. 1996 and now 2011”
“Because she's a good person; you should try it.” He huffed out.
Gale sneered with a tsk, “Alright, you're eating something and sobering up.” She stalked to the kitchen as he sat at the small table and kept talking.
"She may be naive and stubborn but she's too soft hearted...I was wrong. She's gotta be protecting them from blackmail or maybe from being just too sweet of a person." He swallowed and shook his head. “She was dragged out…She didn't wanna go with them…You said it yourself, why was Jill in her room in the middle of the night? Why did Billy and Stu take her back here?...Why isn't she saying anything?...Why does her and Jill's description match when they're lliieesss?” He stretched out the last part. “How'd that happen, Gale? Huh? How did it happen?” He almost pleaded tiredly.
Gale was at a crossroads that she couldn't quite decide yet. She did NOT like the idea of it being a cold case forever looking for Billy and Stu…She hated someone else getting the glory for the inevitable of pointing out Jill's low survival rate and her superficial wounds plus Olivia's death recorded from her bedroom window as her neighbor…
Gale momentarily halted making him something. “...I don't know.” For once, was the answer. The only answer she had. Nothing made sense to her. You and Jill wouldn't talk and Dewey was gonna fight her on incriminating Jill and you. For hiding those two; Gale had no issue sending your ass to prison for tanking her career over lies you were still lying about but Dewey apparently did.
But she also didn't want to make an enemy of her husband.
Fuck.
She sighed heavily while making him a grilled cheese. “....Fine.” She laid the plate down harsher than necessary in front of him. “We'll twiddle our thumbs waiting around to find Billy and Stu but mark my words, Dewey. If another murder happens? I am bringing that tape in play and that second murder is on you and Woodsboro PD. If YN goes to prison for whatever involvement she had then so be it. You can't protect her forever; especially if she's a damn murderer too.”
With that, Gale left the room. Leaving a weary Dewey half drunk and tired and so emotionally drained he might as well be catatonic as he numbly nibbled on the grilled cheese his impatient wife burned.

and to cap off requests, a Christmas episode! i hope you enjoy Clonefies wondering about the Christmas spirit. . .

“You gotta have a stocking.”
“. . . Like on? Right now?”
Ken's look is scathing.
“No, a Christmas stocking. For Christmas. Smartass.”
“Oh. Sure.”
Ken still looks annoyed, so Wifies puts his book down and turns to face him fully.
“Yes, Ken?”
“Do you even realize that this is gonna be your first Christmas?”
Wifies opens his mouth. Closes it. It's not really— but it is. He has the idea of a memory about. . . something Christmas like. A fireplace while it snows. The suggestion of twinkling colored lights.
“Isn't Christmas this week?” he asks in turn.
“Yes!”
A red and white stocking hits Wifies's face. He spits out a bit of white fur and he pulls it off of his face.
“I've got glitter glue. C'mon.”
Wifies follows and uses Ken's mysteriously acquired box of glitter glue to write his name on one side of the stocking, along with some small wobbly stars and lopsided swirls. This seems to satisfy Ken greatly— at least he doesn't throw anymore hosiery at Wifies after.
He thinks that's the end of it, but then Parrot and him meet up and it comes up again.
“Are you doing anything for Christmas?” Parrot asks, head tilting in such a way that he looks like a perfect impression of real jungle parrots.
“Uh,” Ken will probably want to do something with the stocking, so he says, “Maybe?”
“Oh, do you not celebrate?” Parrot asks. “Sorry man, I didn't realize.”
“No, I just— I don't know what I'll be doing, is all.”
“Alright,” Parrot nods slowly. “Me and some of the other Unstable members are gonna do a party on the 24th if you want to come. I'll send you the details, come if you want.”
“Thanks. I'll. . . let you know.”
It stays on Wifies's mind after that. Should he care more? Does it matter? He doesn't have any warm fuzzy feelings attached to Christmas. He's not sure what to think.
“Wato, is Christmas all that important?” Wifies asks, arms heavy with a box of redstone components.
Wato glances back at him.
“It's a pretty big deal, but only if you want it to be,” Wato says, dropping their own box off into a corner of the room. “Why?”
“Well, Ken seemed to care,” Wifies puts the box down next to Wato’s and dusts his hands off. “And Parrot looked at me funny for not really knowing what I was gonna do for Christmas.”
“You talked to two people who can't control their faces,” Wato snorts. “It matters if you want it to matter.”
“I want to care about the things people I love care about.”
Wato pinches Wifies's ear, all show and no force.
“One day you'll learn to care just for yourself. But if you want to test out the Christmas hype, you should join Ken and me on the 25th and we'll make it fun.”
“Alright, alright, let go of me!”
Wato does and they go back to organizing their cluttered storage room. Wifies turns the suggestion over in his head and makes a plan.
The 24th is cold but the party is warm and loud. Spoke throws himself across Wifies's back as soon as he arrives, muttering and cheering. Minute peels him off with a smile and a greeting. Parrot weaves in and out of the crowd madly. He’s pretty sure Zam and Wemmbu are arm wrestling in the corner, but there's a ring of people around them that he doesn’t want to muscle through. There are so many people stuffed into one place that Wifies is honestly dizzy.
He's been kissed under a dozen different mistletoe doorways by a dozen different people by the time he escapes.
Okay. Well. It wasn't a bad experience, but it wasn't— ideal. He’s not sure if the Christmas spirit was in the room with them, but the eggnog was nice and he likes everyone quite a bit.
He makes his way into Ken and Wato’s server with little fanfare, still in his party clothes and sticky with stolen lipstick marks.
[Wato1876]: Wifies!!!! Come join us at spawn!!!
Before Wifies can start the journey, he feels the tingle of a command teleport and suddenly he’s inside a glittery pink and silver nightmare. There is tinsel on his face within seconds.
“Wifies!” Ken bounds over, giving him a squeezing hug. “You smell like liquor.”
“I went to a Christmas party,” he says, shrugging his coat off and shaking snow out of his hair.
“Dude, you’re covered in lipstick,” Wato says. They’re in the softest looking green sweater Wifies has ever seen.
“I’m really good at standing under mistletoe, I guess.”
“Who took your first mistletoe kiss?!” Ken demands.
Wifies purses his lips and says, “Clown, actually.”
“ClownPierce?!”
“Wow,” Wato says with a whistle. “Good job?”
“Thanks?” Wifies feels sticky. “Actually, can I take a shower here?”
“Yeah, sure, fucking ClownPierce?”
Wifies shoves Ken’s head back and Ken yowls and sputters, baring his sharp teeth at Wifies. Wato barks out a laugh at them and disappears, only to return with a bundle of clothes and a towel, which Wifies takes gratefully. He washes up and discovers there’s an equally soft white sweater in the pile Wato gave him, which he’s thrilled to pull on.
“See?” Ken says when Wifies finds them, sprawled out on a blanket pile in front of a fireplace that definitely wasn’t there a week ago. “I told you it’d fit him fine.”
Ken is wearing a red sweater of the same kind. They all look like matching baubles now, matching just like the three red and white stockings on the fireplace mantle. Wifies sits down next to him on the floor.
“Good! Wifies, do you want hot chocolate?” Wato yells.
“No, thank you. My stomach is actually kind of upset.”
“Did you have eggnog?” Ken asks, tail swaying in a leisurely figure eight.
“I did.”
“That’ll do it.”
Wato comes back with three mugs regardless. They hand one off to Ken, and the smell of chocolate wafts out of it. The one they hand Wifies, however, smells like ginger and peppermint tea.
“For your stomach,” Wato clarifies, sitting down on Wifies’s other side. “That should help. I think.”
“It will. Thank you.”
“We were gossiping before you got here,” Ken informs him as he sits up.
“Christmas gossiping?” Wifies raises his eyebrow. That also doesn’t seem like the Christmas spirit.
“Yes, obviously.”
“Alright, so what’s the good gossip?”
Ken launches into a story that somehow involves half of their shared friends, Wato chiming in occasionally. Wifies still isn't sure that this is the Christmas spirit, but it's not a half bad way to spend the night to get to the 25th.
