feeling under the weather today so i made a big batch of miso soup despite the temperachures and as i was having the first sip of it this memory hit me of having miso soup for the first time? my dad and sister and i were in london (first time i'd ever been on a plane), i was maybe 14? and it was a bank holiday, so the only food option near our hotel was this single heroic sushi place that was open. i'd never had sushi, i did have an anxiety disorder the size of the moon, and i was notoriously scared to eat when traveling. my dad's attempt to get me to consume something of nutritional value was to foist his cup of miso soup onto me, which i - very reluctantly - tried, and immediately fell in love with. it was warming and new and a little bit sweet and i don't think any other food would have done for me in that moment. i finished my dad's cup, i finished my sister's cup, and the guy behind the counter brought us a third cup which i also finished. he didn't even let my dad pay for it. love was and continues to be stored in the miso soup

Just finished re-watching Help! (The Beatles movie) as my birthday tradition (it's either the Yellow Submarine animated film or Help! every year since literal childhood even though I didn't understand anything they said at the time) and now I'm thinking that Ghost might actually like it a lot and find fucking hilarious. Like, sure, it's not the darkest shade of humor like he usually prefers, but it's the most absurd, silly and punny thing where every line is treated with the most seriousness (aka the best kind of humor imo lol).

It might be his mum's influence. She had good taste in music, maybe Beatles weren't her first choice, but I bet they had at least one vinyl. I bet Simon prefers them to many other things. I bet he takes the piss out of Johnny's music taste and has him over to watch Help! to teach this scottish mutt what real culture is. Even if they are goddamn Liverpool golden boys, Simon's Manchester pride can survive this.

Especially when Soap's sprawled right next to him on the couch, thighs spread, knee jiggling and laughter booming at every deadpan delivery of a silly (and yet clever) joke.

Hell, if Johnny's not in a hurry, maybe they can watch A Hard Day's Night too?

When Rindou was angry, silence was the most common tool. Being quiet made his thoughts louder, so all he needed was calm.

Ran knew that very well, he had "raised" him after all. The pout in his expression and the inability to keep his gaze in his eyes told Ran that something was wrong with him.

"Hiro says he doesn't like stuffed animals anymore".

Ran took the cigarette out of his mouth and smiled.

"They grow up fast, huh?"

“Ran, Hiro says he doesn't like dinosaurs anymore"

"And what is the problem?"

Smashing the cigar against the asphalt, Ran Haitani's huge body turned towards his brother. A slender hand rested on his shoulder.

"When you were 6 years old you adored those cartoons of a boy with red underpants. You spent hours and hours behind the screen"

"But that..."

"Let me finish".

Rindou looked at the screen of his phone. The photo of Hiro dressed as a superhero plunged the knife deep into his chest. He was growing. He was growing and there was no stop button that worked.

"When you turned 8 you told me you didn't want to sleep next to me anymore.".

"But that"

Raising his eyebrows was enough for Rindou to shut up.

"When you turned 12 you stopped talking to me about the girls you liked".

"What are you trying to tell me?"

“Hiro is going to keep growing. Just like you did. Just like I stopped doing braids. Just like everyone else does".

Rindou swallowed hard before looking at his brother. He was right, he knew it. But admitting it hurt more than staying in denial.

"Growing up is not bad. It means you're alive. It means that everything is fine".

With 30 seconds remaining, WV rushes to gather everything they appearified into the gutted pumpkin with Serenity interjecting on the silliness of the actions. One of the cans of Tab that just wont cooperate gets thrown to the otherside of the room and lands on the right green button finally giving us current date and location of the bunker. Before we look at that lets carry on with the animation.

WV goes over to pick up the pumpkin top, ruler and knife, attaching the latter two together. Just to make sure its secure, WV practices some moves and laughs in victory. Which I just noticed is a thing they do a lot and I think thats endearing. WV tries placing the pumpkin parts back together but the amount of cans is too much for the lid, which flies off and is eaten by WV presumably to avoid leaving anything useful. Instead they use a pipe and cable to make a bindle and start ascending the ladder.

Only to promptly fall back under the weight of the items. The countdown is over but for now WV seems ok.

In other news, *ding ding ding* we have a winner! @homestuckreplay in this post speculated the bunker to be at one of our characters houses, specifically Rose's who is potentially near the Racquette River in St. Lawrence County, New York. While not confirmed, I took the liberty of switching to satellite view to bring you these pictures.

If you look closely at that second picture once I flip it around it looks kinda familiar, no? Now, I did street view it best I could and its definitely not a house but the similarities are there.

Now we just wait and see what that countdown was leading to.
