finished the map of Adrania with a little cropped close up of the places we’ve been 🧭

the scale is a little off - i didn’t want to make it too big and it turn illegible, but the distance between Blackwater and the Black Iron is a few days along the white trail. i imagine there to be various little settlements and villages that i didn’t include here, i mainly wanted to focus on key locations and places we’ll be hearing about/seeing in game. there are more roads and rivers than pictured, with the white road being the main road, or the King’s Road.

Blackwater, Myrasea, King’s Harbor, and Wolf’s Ford are the main large port cities of Adrania, with Yulan to the west, and with that being their main trade partner, there are only smaller ports to the east - the rest is moved along the King’s Road. The southeast of Adrania relies a lot more on farming and agriculture with the flatter land and decent soil from the rivers, which is then carried west to the coast for trade or sold across the country. Up north, with the colder weather and impassable mountains, the focus is shepherding, hunting, fishing, and whaling, again with most of the products being moved along the King’s Road or shipped down the coast out of Blackwater.

The mountains make it hard to reach the Gaelish border, and work pretty well as a natural wall between the two; to reach Highfell and other various mountain towns, it’s typical to go out towards the coast and move up that way before cutting back in, which is exactly what Lea and the hunter are doing at the start of the story.

The diagram for the classic Origami Goat, with a twist to make its horns curve ! It's from this video by by Origami Word, but it seems to be a pretty old/intemporal design that a lot of people have made. I could not find a diagram online so I made one.

(If you make her in yellow/orangy-yellow, then decorate her with red ribbons, you can make your own origami gävlebocken ! )

People against piracy fail to realize that no, I can’t just ‘buy it.’ They stopped making DVDs and Blu-Rays. They’re barely offering digital copies for download. I am not spending money I could use for food or bills to pay for a subscription service just so I can always have access to a beloved piece of media. Especially not when the service will remove media on a whim without concern for how the loss of access to that piece will make its artistic conservation nigh impossible.

For example, I recently learned that Disney+ had an original film called Crater. It’s scifi, family friendly, and seems cool - I would love to buy it as a holiday gift for my little brother! But: it’s exclusive to D+ and THEY REMOVED IT LITERALLY MONTHS AFTER ITS RELEASE.

The ONLY way I can directly access this film is through piracy. The ONLY available ‘copies’ of this film are hosted on piracy websites. Disney will NEVER release it in theaters, or as something to buy, and it may NEVER return to the streaming service. It will be LOST because we aren’t allowed to purchase it for personal viewing. If I can’t pay to own it, I won’t pay for the privilege of losing it when corporate decides to put it in a vault.

So yes, I’m going to pirate and support piracy.
