also oda himself always said that he is heavily involved in the live action and the casting so he is probably also at fault like i was never a big fan of the alabasta arc (and skypiea) because the setting can be painfully ... stereotypically ... but to some extent it was an early 2000s manga arc so ... okay but the fact that oda himself is seemingly willing to use so much arabian influence and still does not insist on casting MENA actors in the two most important roles ....

#like even if we take 80% Egyptian/Arabian and 20% Indian influence they could have splitted up the ethnicities between vivi and cobra #like vivi nefertari is not an Indian name 😭😭#and look i am indian i would love if they had more indian actors #but this is not the case where oda once said which real world ethnicity he would assign to the characters this is about #an arc long world building setting that is so clearly inspired for the most part by a whole other region #I hate this fuck opla for this 😭#and people seem to not care about it that much are all brown people that interchangeable to you #and even people who are not that against it question a possible Palestine connection #which ... are all mena actors now blacklisted because they might (understandably and rightfully) care about the Palestinian people #and voice that out loudly #i hate this we should all complain loudly #this following that white usopp from the one piece wit studio remake ...
