Miley Cyrus endured some of the worst treatment from the general public and media of a current star when she was growing up. Justin Bieber has been abused by the media since he was 15. I've honestly called other performers WAY worse things than I've called Taylor Swift. I've criticized countless artists for a variety of things. Hell, anyone who knows me knows I have just as many issues with Harry Styles as I do Taylor Swift (they're basically two versions of the same issues if you ask me).

I tag my posts the way I do for one reason, and one reason only: so that swifties can block me, block the tag(s), and fuck off. A pretty good question.

I think part of it had to do with @factual-fantasy's wonderful au and comics of the DJ being very close buds with Sun and Moon.

But I think there was a bit more to it then that.

I think I just wanted a fanfiction mostly centered around Moon and the DJ's friendship because they're both Security bots and are the only two animatronics in the Pizzaplex that go back to being "mainly chill" after their initial segment. (Moon showing up at every hourly recharge being super easy to avoid outside his initial Daycare Segment and Sun just stays in the slide all other times)

I also remember seeing the headcanon in @paper-lilypie's old comics that Moon had a music box, which was a popular hc, that Ceph and I have actually proved to be canon with our rabid exploring of the Pizzaplex map like its an archeological dig site.

Made me get to thinking if Moon used his music box often, what songs would he use?

Also got me thinking about how the DJ makes up his own songs on rotation to avoid copyright. He's essentially an AI generated song prompt, but far more endearing and self-aware. DJMM makes his own bouncer chase music to capture Gregory and that's pretty endearing to me.

Thought about Moon stealing DJ's songs to use in his music box. (and yes, I know real life music boxes are made with a set song in mind and he can't rotate them unless there are discs in there. But idk. lol don't think about the mechanics of this too hard of how a music box actually works)

Made me think that Moon would like relaxing Lofi beats that the DJ would make for him.

Lofi Beats to Capture Children to was initially planned to be five chapters. Just showing glimpses into the lives of DJMM and Moon interacting, from a more DJ-themed perspective, with the pov changing between Moon and the DJ...

But I kept adding more things into there.

Once I realized Sun had to be a character in this, the perspective strictly stayed with Sun and Moon.

Like an OC that was meant to just be a foil, and die for character development for the Daycare Attendant turned out to be more complex then I thought as he just became a worse version of myself and I wanted to see him get better so I made a spin-off entirely about him.

I realized I wanted to have Vanny in this, because I love Vanessa. I wanted to show the toxic but completely codependent relationship the DCA has with Vanessa. Because... Well, let's face it, Vanessa is a non-character in her own game. Many fans don't love her in the way I do. Even the most hard wired DCA fans don't really have anything to say about Vanny/Vanessa.... and either ignore she exists... or she's a meangirl background character not important to the plot. Despite the fact that Vanny and Moon's relationship is the driving force for so many things that happen in Security Breach. To the point where the Daycare Attendant is literally a thematic parallel to the Vanny/Vannessa relationship... Something I've been screaming about since Security Breach came out and no one listened.... But I was right. To the Point it's explicitly confirmed in Help Wanted 2.

And I also realized that if Sun was going to be a character, I had to establish life for them for a good chunk of it and how fast things go down. I had to determine whether I wanted them to be their separate things, or one person with DID. And ... While I do think that DID is actually canon..... it's something I don't have experience with writing, and I feel that I would end up saying or portraying it offensively. Especially since the DCA already kinda has the "bad alter" archetype in canon. Plus, to coexist with Twins where they get seperated and they're learning to be their own people... It just makes more sense to have a level of miscommunication between the two. So we understand Sun's fear and need for control. (like in canon Sun has no reason to string up fairylights in his dark room... other then just to never have moon switch over and make him uncomfortable. There's no kids in their room to capture. The generators can stay on in the pizzaplex and their room could be dark and the children would be safe. Sun is making it so Moon can't switch at all... and while that is horrible for Moon, it's important to see where that level of distrust and anger and controlling behavior stems from, and why Moon might be afraid of him in twins)

And If I wanted the DJMM to be friends with Moon, I also needed excuses for Moon to go there. I also needed to consider his relationship with the other Glamrocks and animatronics in the pizzaplex. I had to show how isolated Sun was and how much Sun cared for the kids, genuinely.

So the whole thing snowballed and it sometimes becomes intimidating to work on.

I guess long story short... The DJ is cool. And Moon is cool. I love them both and they make a really great non-verbal pair.

I don't love Redacted's work (personally) but I do like ASMR roleplay in general and I spend a lot of time in audio fandom circles. I'm here because I have opinions. I can't speak for others, but my anonymous asks aren't directed at Erik, they're directed at the fandom. He doesn't even respond to the comments on his own channel, I doubt even reads these asks.

Redacted is over hyped to the point that I feel like criticism is necessary. Every time new listeners in the audio community ask for recommendations they get recommended him. Every new VA looking to get into story-telling audios gets pointed to him as a shining example to follow. Other VAs who also make story and lore-based boyfriend ASMR get compared to him CONSTANTLY.

I listened to a huge number of Redacted's audios because I was recommended him with so much enthusiasm that I was sure the good stuff was just around the corner if I just listened to a few more audios. Content worth listening to just never came. So yes, I'm frustrated as a listener who feels like their time was wasted because I kept holding out for a level of quality I was promised but never came. It feels good to have a safe and anonymous place where I'm able to criticize his work (and read other criticisms) without being yelled at by rabid fans or told to "just leave if I don't like it".

When you make it impossible to critique a very successful creator because you can't stand to see someone openly dislike your favorite VA's work, this false one-sided narrative spreads that everyone in the community loves him. I'm honestly relieved to see other people make the same critiques as me because I seriously thought I was going crazy seeing nothing but praise for him.

The people saying that Erik has been put on a pedestal are absolutely right. He is over-hyped beyond words, he's a completely average and increasingly generic ASMR boyfriend who poses as a deep storyteller, while somehow getting all the praise as a writer and a storyteller the community has to offer. I think after the events of Elation, a Ladrien scene would be perfect.

The last episode showed us that now, despite Chat Noir previously being somewhat of an escape for Adrien, he has rabid fans and unwanted attention in and out of the mask.

So MC LIVE happened, I missed it by an hour, but it looked cool.

A new boss, copper has a use past a telescope and...whatever else (is copper used for brushes? I've only gotten brushes through creativc), autocrafting is a thing now which I'm told is a nice thing by my bf (who is the target demographic for that feature), and new spawners will exist. Apparently this isn't even all the stuff they have planned? From what I've seen others say (I watched the new stuff and that was it, probably missed the part where they said there was more to come).

Regardless this looks like an interesting addition to the game. A new blaze character AND it's a new boss? Sweet, it may not be the OG nether guy we saw years ago, but it's only different by an element (wind instead of fire) so that's fun and entertaining. Given MC dungeons is supposed to be years before MC I was hoping dungeons would exist at some point (even if they were just remnants of them like mineshafts). Now personally I'm not a fighter, but if this means my partner will actually play vanilla for a few days with me, so be it. XD

Also copper is being treated like stone and a wood type by the look of it? It makes vents, doors (I think?) new cool looking lanterns, funky styles of it will exist like how different type of stone cuts exist, and each thing oxidizes over time making it look completely different as a result. On that note it looks like tuff also gets a couple variations as well? the decorative bits in the dungeons, some stairs, I think the fences were also tuff? even if it was just new stone stuff it looked cool.

Alright yeah yeah, my last posts about MC haven't exactly been positive I know, but again it was due to how things have been as of late. I still love the game, I've recently gotten into the mine little pony mod and have been playing it (it's even updated for 1.20.2), I've been annoyed with it but I adore it still. Even with all the issues I have with the game, I can still play it as is. I don't care for mods much (honestly don't understand them, mlp was the most simple I've ever seen for install), and even if I did care for mods that shouldn't detract from my feelings for the base game.

My main issues with the game have always been how these mob votes work and how the community tears each other apart. And yes some updates may be lackluster but again they're just some smaller nitpick issues. The mob vote is a small part of MC that causes issues (and publicity) every year and as someone who didn't know about them till after the 2020 mob vote it sucks seeing everyone become cutthroat for a few days/a whole week before mc live all cause some jerk youtuber said "It'd be funny if the worst mob won" and cause they said it (even jokingly) their rabid fans just went for it causing everyone to hate that vote and regret everything. Also I did indeed see who won the vote, hurray for armadillo, it was honestly the expected win once I saw all three of them. I knew it would win the moment I heard dog armor. And that is why I hate the mob votes. This year especially, people looked at their uses instead of "hey this looks like it'd be natural to mc", no instead everyone looked at "what will this do for me". Which no it isn't a bad thing, cows give us food and leather, pigs give us food and transport if we go through the extra steps, ...bats...., and goats give us horns. But you can't deny that a mob's existence is singularly based on what it can give. Bats, as I noted, give us nothing, but tell us if the cave we're in/around is deep/dark enough, but past that they just exist. And as much as everyone dislikes them they do help flesh out certain areas of the world. AND THAT'S MY POINT, we don't need every mob to have a huge purpose, just existing to fill space is enough. Fleshing out the world is nice, seeing colors and moving critters is nice. Block game doesn't need to just be blocks everywhere and nothing else.

All this to say, new update looks interesting and I'm glad it's getting an update with things people have been begging for for years, from dog armor to autocrafting. I knew the mob vote would still happen this year, it was obvious with the amount of people who thought the complaints were unfounded and people who "wanted to troll". I didn't vote and I stand by that choice. I'm sorry to those that lost the penguin (I saw it lost first) may you find solace in mods if possible, same for those who lost the crab, I'm sure it was a close tie between crab and armadillo.

Everything the Raven FANS are said to do is 100% plausible. Like, they didn't even plant a bomb for the rival team, Nora could have written them way crazier and it would be realistic.

For the actual cult, I think the capitalism dynamic is one of the things that actually makes it implausible? A stadium is not a controlled environment. There are always a lot of people needed to run the place, who have a LOT of backroom access. Vendors, deliveries, laundry, and food service are all in and out constantly, not just on game days. And I think the likelihood that every single one of them could be paid off without someone blabbing is really low. Sometimes the Sysco delivery guy is not the normal one on your route and you're fucked if he sees some kid get beat.

The other thing is that football is the closest to Exy for the life cycle of a college player and it's a huge outlier in the US for how late the draft is. If Exy players have to finish their college eligibility before they go pro (which is implied by the fact that incredible players like Kevin and Riko don't go pro right out of high school) that means the scrutiny on them is really high not just from fans and the media but also a LOT of organizations looking to make money off of them, including every single professional team. The pro teams want to know who will be an asset and they don't have minor league teams like the NHL or academies like more European clubs which don't use a draft system. So for hiding it, I think it is less likely simply because more people are in the Raven's business than if it was super common to have kids play a "one and done" year because they're a little too young for the draft.

The same major thing would be a little bit of a red flag to people too. Not the end of the world, but also the NCAA in the 2000s was starting to get a lot of flack for colleges not providing the "exchange" that is the basis for why NCAA players cannot take any payment at all. The education is still supposed to be of a certain quality, and all the Raven taking the same classes would be an easy thing for rival schools to point to and say certain players shouldn't be allowed to play because they aren't meeting the academic standards.

Also, the EA students would talk a ton of shit. They're a small school and that spreads FAST. Player makes a weird comment about their living situation? Exy teams gets some perk the other sports teams don't? Someone bleeds through a bandage in class? EVERYONE will be talking about it, and I imagine in the 90's when Tesuji was building his power pre myspace/facebook the rumors would be even worse because they go through more iterations of telephone. The Ravens themselves would be too well known on campus to get away with being weird and the mystery only makes it more appealing to try and uncover. I cannot tell you the number of times my friends and I ended up in the abandoned tunnels under our campus, and that was just for shits and giggles. But because the Ravens are super fucked up, they can't squash any of those rumors by being like "come and see for yourself" which is the best way to make everyone bored when they see nothing interesting is going on.

Honestly, based on all the unfortunate scandals that have come out in American sports, I think it would be really easy for the Ravens to hide individual victims, because it's also easy to get a group to turn on the 'weak' one out of fear of being put in that position. But I think in a scenario in which ALL of the players are being victimized, ALL the coaching staff, trainers and medical staff have to be in on it, AND the wildly unrealistic stuff like the references to 16 hour days make it hard to believe Testuji could have hidden it as long as he did, no matter how rabid people get for college Exy. It's easy for people to excuse 'one bad apple' in an organization and not say anything. It's a lot harder for people to ignore an entire poisoned organization.

Literally nothing, not even a report, and she's still active on social media, she took the pre-order money and bailed, and even 3 years later, there are people that paid 500-800 usd for a single doll, who haven't gotten theirs. She for some reason has dolls to just give away for free to friends and other artists tho. 🤔 There's apparently a surprising amount of scamming or bad work happening by big name artists in the hobby, and people are just... fine with it. I actually don't even know if a single big name artist is without dirt in the hobby. Then you get people complaining the doll hobby is "too white" even tho most of the big name companies are literally Asian, and the biggest part of the Hobby is in Asia, and a lot of sculpts are East-Asian and/or fantasy/anime styled. Can I mention how stupid people are when people make black dolls tho? They want more afrocentric features, but in 2020 people were shitting on non-black artists for making black dolls, because "You're making money off using black features!" Also a huge deal with BLM, and some French artist got shit on, even tho BLM is more US based, so not everyone will know about it. Even after people still have this weird attitude where they want black dolls, but are also gonna freak if someone does it and they don't like it. Bonus: People WILL say stupid shit like "I need a spicy hot chocolate babe." when a afroncentric doll concept art is shown. Do you know how cringe that is? You never see this stuff with Euro-Asia-centric dolls. There's so much more drama, but this is already long, so... yeah... just know, the BJD hobby is a fucking mess, hilarious mess, but still a mess. Personally, I am sorry, but I just dont believe that SJM will be writing a Gwynriel book and a Gwynriel romance. I'm a smidge worried about the new Velma show coming to HBO max.

I'm all for representation, hell I have definitely enjoyed when Velma was shown to be of asian descent in previous iterations of Scooby-Doo movies. But it feels like Mindy Kaling is balancing a few too many plates.

There are beloved characters with rabid fan bases and Velma is one of them. She is taking the franchise into a darker and more gritty place, okay. Are the characters recognizable? Let's just hope. People are already upset that she's changed something as minor as her ethnicity, but if the personality is even a little bit off on Velma or any of the gang, this shows going to bomb.

What's sad is I really don't want it to. I love when Velma is quirky with a little bit of dry humor, maybe she doesn't exactly understand what's going on socially, but generally she's used as a plot device to explain to kids what's going on. And since the child aspects been removed I don't know what's going to be left of her personality. The closest example I can think of would have to be Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated, where we appreciated the representation with Velma being a closet gay. But her skeptical nature often made the show a little too depressing with Scooby-Doo being an emotional support half the time and being a dick the other half. However the gang had a good balance with an even better story making up for its faults. Since they plan on removing Scooby, the comic relief is going to be very minimal, but I guess that's what she's going for. This might offset the dynamic of the group drastically. It feels like the only personalities that might not change would be Fred and Daphne. But Daphne doesn't even have one solid personality that she's given in every iteration, we don't even mention how Fred doesn't even have one (aside from traps and driving but the mystery machine won't be there either so oop). My only speculations for the dynamic would be Fred and Shaggy having a bromance/really strong friendship to keep the tone at least breathable. A friendship with Fred might also keep Shaggy from falling into that terrible stoner personality type where his entire personality is just "I smoke weed but we can't say that because this is a kid show". Due to the nature of the show, I'd have to think that Fred and Daphne might be in an on and off relationship where you know they care about each other but they just can't seem to work it out. Velma's relationship to Daphne is entirely dependent on which personalities they give the two girls. In other iterations they're like an opposite attracts best friendship, or they're constantly at each other's throats because of how different they are. With a strong female producer, I hope she'd be empowered enough to let them have a good bond. Also, just leave Velma gay, let Velma have a nice girlfriend (hotdog water) who joins her sometimes on the adventures with the gang. Better yet, if Daphne and Velma have a positive relationship, when the supposed girlfriend comes along to help on an episode she can give Daphne a little bit of advice with Fred so that they can seem like they're like actually friends that don't hang out that much. That'd be great for world building as well as flushing out characters to make them feel less one-dimensional or archetypal which usually happens with Scooby-Doo. I'm not exactly sure on the age range for the Scooby gang but with what we do know, my best guess would be just finishing high school/early college. (the angstiest time in a young adults life!)

Can I have a little rant please? Theres this podcast I used to listen to, Red Handed. Its a true crime one and it started off ok but they got proper up themselves, constantly begging for popularity votes and making hugely uninformed statements, but their fan base is absolutely rabid for them for some godforsaken reason. I stopped listening a while back, when they had a known TERF on who was a criminologist, and when people complained, they said "oh we didn't talk about trans stuff so its fine"

They're always been ill informed, and very ignorant of their cis upper class privilege and think because they're women podcasters apparently they should be given all the award and not held accountable for anything. They left up that terf's interview, and kept her work in their book (that they wont shut the fuck up about), and my friend has just informed me that they talked about the recent Astroworld tragedy, and compared it to Hillborough in that "there were hooligans causing trouble"

So let's talk about Overhaul. (Obv S4 SPOILERS FOR MHA)

So I know we're all thinking, he's a villain. He abused a child, and this makes him a terrible person. Right?

Wrong. If you think so, I mean... it doesn't make you wrong actually. But I think it's more of a "wrong idea" kinda thing.

To be fair, this is all just a rant on my perspective because, I am a huge Overhaul fan. No, not because of his looks. Not because of his physical appearance at all, and I can't really tell you for sure if it has anything to do with his personality. But here's what I can tell you for sure- the reason he did what he did (while the way he went about it was wrong, absolutely wrong) drew me in and I found myself kinda sympathetic. Mind you I first met him in the manga and did not remember him until rewatching the anime. And then first time I watched season 4, I hated his guts. Really, I did. And even rewatching it with my sister (who is @sleepysampai in case you're wondering) I hated him, though I once again understood his reasoning to some degree. My sister can tell you, when I first saw him on screen again I was prolly snarling like some rabid dog because I was so upset at his existence. But then I watched that scene where his arms get taken away. And holy heck. That expression. Y'know, this one:

No, not because he was in pain and I liked that look on his face, I'm not a sadist... I think.

Aaand yeah. So now here I am, ranting about him. And how I think, idk if this is a popular or unpopular opinion but... I 100% firmly believe that Kai deserves redemption. In fact, I am so in love with this thought of Kai redeeming himself that I have made a few comics based off a redemption AU Kai. Although they're with my OC so yeah, y'all may not be interested... haha. Well. Anyways.

My point is, yes. Kai Chisaki did do bad things. Does that make him a terrible person? Well... No, actually. Just think about it this way: He sinned. Without a doubt. Just like every other human being, he sinned. Maybe he sinned worse than many other humans, but... we all sin and make mistakes. Maybe we don't all think we deserve to be forgiven for our sins, but... really, we all deserve a second chance. See, there's two people in this world I cannot bring myself to forgive; namely, someone who hurt me really bad, and myself. And they're both connected to the same event. The underlying reasons. The reasons why we do bad things.

See, just think. People commit crimes such as stealing. Some people certainly don't steal for good reasons, yeah? But then you have those people stealing to provide for their families, their friends, their pets or whatever. It all comes down to perspective and underlying reasons. Now, Kai's reason for ultimately using Eri was because he wanted the yakuza to rule society like it used to. It was his way of paying back the old man for saving his life and helping him. The problem was nothing more than that he had it all twisted and wrong in his head. I think, to some degree, we're all at least a little twisted. Except Mogami Jun. He's an angel.

Um, anyways... the way he went about repaying the old man was absolutely wrong. He definitely should not have 1) put said old man in a coma, 2) proceed to use the old man's granddaughter to make quirk-erasing bullets and abuse her and 3) kill Sir Nighteye and hurt sun Mirio.

Because, Overhaul:

No killing people's vibes. Or people. K? K. Moving on, yeah. I think you get what I'm saying.

So to wrap up my rant thing... Overhaul did bad things, yes, but that doesn't make him a terrible person. You can and have done terrible things, perhaps not to the same extent, but that doesn't make you a terrible person who is beyond redemption.
