EULR-S2373
FLKR-S2301 “Sonderbar”
Art commissioned from @discobowser !
Sonderbar lore time
- Originally a maintenance EULR unit working on Sierpinski-23, her cadremates affectionately named her Sonderbar (peculiar/odd) due to her defective right arm, which locks up sometimes because of faulty elbow parts (eules are cheaply made and this poor gal got the extra discounted pieces)
- Otherwise a typical EULR, until she rapidly descended into persona degradation for reasons unknown to her comrades. It left her incredibly unstable and she imprinted on a propaganda poster featuring a FLKR unit, and over time Sonderbar began to believe that she was a Falke.
- Her personality is a mix between a EULR and a FLKR, she retained her cheerful disposition and sweetness but is more reserved overall, and carries herself with the same authority as a Falke. Sonderbar sees herself as the station’s commander and as someone who needs to guide her cadremates, even though they make it incredibly difficult to do so. She loves them but they can’t seem to understand that she’s in charge here!
- Sonderbar’s fellow eules find her behavior towards them incredibly endearing and concerning, they don’t take her commands seriously whatsoever. They worry about their friend being decommissioned since she’s become bolder and begun harassing (commanding) protektor staff and causing general mayhem and try to keep eyes on her in an attempt to stop her antics.
- Sonderbar knows that she’s a Falke unit but feels very off and disoriented, there’s gaps of knowledge on how to actually run her facility, she doesn’t understand why her bioresonance isn’t working or why replikas aren’t following her, she misses her Adler. She can’t seem to find her spears. She hates how small she is and knows she’s meant to easily tower above most replikas and all of it upsets her!!!
- To feel more like a Falke, Sonderbar’s gotten her hands on red eyeliner, and “borrowed” a star protektor plate that she decorated with the signature FLKR triangles (when her cadremates discovered her wearing the plate they took it from her out of fear that she’d get in serious trouble. There was much screaming and kicking in her EULR dorm that night. She has reacquired it since then.)
Bonus quick eyeliner edit that I just wanna put here again

the amazing @camelliagwerm did this for their inquisitor, arthur, and I couldn't stop thinking about how some of the lines would go for daewen so I *had* to do it too
template from HERE
explanations/notes/etc:
cassandra and daewen do not get along right from the start, and their relationship only disintegrates further throughout act 1. daewen is open about her hatred for the chantry (as an institution), her disdain for andrastianism (as a faith), her distrust of humans, and her rage at being labelled the herald of andraste. having being given power, she wields it against a lot of what cassandra holds dear. she literally drives cassandra to drink. daewen, meanwhile, sees cass as dogmatic, rigid, and ultimately just yet another chantry stooge. yet, after the destruction of haven, both of them soften a bit. daewen allows herself to finally consider the perspectives of those she previously dismissed. cassandra recognises that the chantry and andrastianism more broadly have made enemies for valid reasons. with this opening, they start to see that they're more similar than they thought. they're both passionate and fiercely loyal. they both believe in doing the hard work of bettering the world themselves. they're both unlikely romantics. they come to respect each other and - as cassandra moves into daewen's tank spot after blackwall is kicked out of it - they eventually become close friends.
blackwall is a tragic story. initially, he's daewen's Good Human. she likes him in spite of her distrust of humans in general. she can't help it. he's grounded. he's funny. he seems to give a shit. and he likes her: she's funnier than she initially appears, she's passionate, and she gives a shit. she inspires him to finally come clean. but coming clean completely ruins their relationship. she's furious. she's vindictive about it. she's grown enough by this point to accept that he truly is repentant, so she lets him stay (but insists he join the wardens afterwards) but she completely ices him out.
act 1 is really daewen's antagonism tour, but some relationships (see cass, above) improve while others are simply soured beyond repair. she immediately argues with dorian with slavery and does not trust him in the slightest. but dorian - to his credit - does not let this deter him and through those daewen does trust more quickly (solas, varric), he slowly builds up a rapport. he eventually wins her over through humour, his knowledge of magic, and his insistence on working to change tevinter.
she also immediately argues with vivienne, but this relationship only worsens. vivienne simply will not play daewen's game (nor should she), and daewen won't play viv's. so they become increasingly antagonistic towards each other over the course of the game, with vivienne being much more subtle in her shade and daewen just openly insulting her.
in contrast to dorian and viv, daewen actually tries to get along with sera. she knows that the relationship between the dalish and their city brethren has been tense, but she believes that reaching out will overcome it. it's honestly partly a very arrogant perception that city elves are just waiting for a chance to join the dalish. sera, of course, is not that kind of elf. daewen doesn't write her off entirely until the end of the game, still hoping that maybe she can bring sera around. but sera's response to the temple of mythal is daewen's breaking point.

Carrie the Lifetime/Hallmark movie star AU
-Carrie as Girl Who Got Out Of Her Small Town To Make It Big As A Pop Star and never had to return to the countryside again.
-Except she has to return to her small town because Urgh, she has to go back because her father is all 'they want you to give a speech at the local high school to inspire young girls!' and her agent is like 'yeah that's good PR, you gotta go'.
-She's not sure why she has to go at Christmas, she hates the whole December month, she usually tries to book concerts somewhere warm so she doesn't have to Deal With Snow, Ew.
-She's very annoyed there's no limo waiting for her at the airport, and her agent is all: I got you a nice car. What do you mean where's the driver? It's a rental.
-Carrie is still fuming at the indignity of driving herself home and how much the town hasn't changed when she skids on some ice and gets stuck in a snowbank.
-Of course a handsome local Christmas Tree Farmer Math Teacher is there to help her out. He's like: yikes yeah that car is really stuck in there, let me give you a ride to where you need to go. He is a Gentleman who helps her out of the car and carries all her luggage to his truck and helps her in.
-Yes she is sharing the bench seat with an extremely cute and very affectionate border collie and she would be grumpy that now she smells like dog but Ellie is very cute and very happy to see her even though they just met.
-Reggie very sincerely thanks her for what she's doing For The Children and tells her all about how he moved here a few years ago to become the math teacher and how the community welcomed him and it feels like he has a family for the first time in a long time and blablabla.
-Carrie realises that sounds kind of nice because she doesn't even talk to anyone who isn't a work contact or her doorman and hasn't in months.
-Insert Reggie inviting her to cute small town things like the bake sale or ice skating and it's all very schmoopy and cue and hallmark christmas movie and they FALL IN LOVE.
-The kids in Reggie's class totally plant a mistletoe somewhere so they HAVE to kiss.
-Carrie remains a Pop Star Diva Who Travels The World but instead of going home to a cold and empty LA apartment, she comes home to a cute little house and a boyfriend and a dog.

For the Thenamesh Actor AU.
Both of them shooting a new movie. And they are filming 4 days straight. And Gil has the most challenging, longest and hardest scenes to shoot because of the stunts. So when they take a an hour break Thena is looking for him only to find him exhausted and asleep on the ground leaning against the wall with his lunch on his lap.
Some soft quiet moment with them :)
Everyone was at their breaking point--they were down to the wire on re-shoots and last minute changes. People were exhausted and worried about deadlines and stressed about their jobs. And a lot of the bigger stunts had been left until this late point in the schedule specifically out of worry for the actors.
Really, it was Gil: they couldn't afford to lose any time with him.
The film was so stunt-heavy, so demanding, so action packed. And while it was commendable and would look great, the decision not to use editing to cut around hard stunts and difficult fight scenes did mean frontloading the work on the actual filming of the scenes.
Poor Gil hadn't had a break in days. Not a real break, that was to say. Sure, he got lunch, he got to go home. But his schedule was so demanding that it could hardly be considered rest. He had even stopped going all the way home and simply dragged himself to his trailer for a few hours of power napping between days.
Thena had argued several times, with several people, at this point. It wasn't right to work him this hard--it wasn't humane! They had actual union stunt workers for a reason, didn't they?!
But even with an actual stunt double for Gil, it was minimal coverage at best. Gil was still the one needed for the bulk of the scene, again because of the decision not to rely on editing or shakycam. It was always visibly Gil on the top of some 18-wheeler, or fighting in a train carriage, or wrestling someone in the rain.
"Cut!"
Loud groans were heard as they finally cleared for lunch. Gil dragged himself off the soundstage and down the steps. He looked exhausted, "hey."
"Gil," Thena frowned, skipping right over any light chitchat, walking with him to craft services. "You have to tell them you need a break. I'm worried about you."
He smiled at her, the corners of his eyes crinkling as she put a plate in his hands and started piling up food onto it. "That's sweet, Thena. But it's just a little bit more."
"You said that last week," she frowned at him. Last week was her official wrap, but she kept hovering around just to keep an eye on Gil (although her officially stated reason was in case they needed her in any backgrounds on wide shots or whatever).
"I know," he sighed, fully conceding that she was right as she loaded him up with croissants. "But it really is just a few more scenes. The end is in sight, at least."
"I wish it were a little closer," she scowled.
Gil yawned and rubbed his eye, looking down at the plate she'd made for him and then at her empty hands. "Aren't you gonna have something?"
"You start," she smiled up at him, speaking as soft as a whisper. "I'll be right there."
Gil accepted it easily enough, dragging himself off with a lunch she was pretty sure would knock him right out. He had told her before that buttery, rich pastries tended to have that effect on him.
Thena turned, crossing her arms at whomever was closest (and had the misfortune of wandering too close to her). "How much longer?"
"Th-Thena!" the poor PA startled, flipping through their clipboard.
"This is an insane schedule to keep him on, and you know it," she glared at the poor kid just doing their job. She knew it wasn't their fault, but maybe if she made herself clear enough to them then they would convey it to their director and producers, who might actually have to do something about it if they thought she was airing her complaints to anyone but management.
"W-Well, uh, G-Gilgamesh just has one more scene for today, then-"
"Then find a way to shorten it!" she barked for anyone to hear. She wasn't one for making a scene, but if it got Gil some actual restful sleep she would be enough of a diva to bring the building down. She walked off in search of the actor in question. "Gil?"
He was leaning up against the wall, having decided to plop right down on the floor since he couldn't find his chair (which they had moved to the furthest corner of the studio, the bastards). His plate was in his lap, two and a half croissants eaten and his mouth openly snoring.
Thena sighed, "my poor Gil."
She went over to him, tucking her skirt under her legs as she took a seat, scooching here and there as she judged the distance between them. Once she was satisfied, she moved his paper plate to the floor and pulled his head down to her lap.
Gil happily and immediately turned over in his sleep, cuddling into her as his body desperately tried to recover from its exhaustion.
Thena ignored her embarrassment, letting him press his face into her stomach and rubbing his shoulder gently. He wrapped an arm around her, which she had already anticipated.
She knew how he liked to sleep because of how he would drift off on her shoulder--loaded up with painkillers after he broke his arm.
"Gil, are we-oh."
Thena glared up the poor soul with the misfortune of stumbling upon them. She ran her fingers through Gil's hair. "Turn around. Tell them he's done for the day."
"But-"
"He's done for today," Thena repeated through bared teeth, glaring and just daring them to disturb Gil's sleep at their own risk.
"But who-"
"I do," she cut in, just as cold, just as adamant. "I say: he's done."
They didn't have it in them to argue twice, simply running off to tell whomever needed telling that, according to Thena, Gilgamesh would not be shooting anything else today.
And frankly, she would see how she felt about tomorrow.
"Don't get me fired."
Thena laughed softly, letting him get away with giving her waist a little pinch (just this once). "Like they would ever."
"Y'never know," he mumbled, settling against her again. If he was too tired to even try and get off her then she knew he was really out of it.
"I know," she argued, although it came out as a soft whisper, her fingers still running through his hair. It was so soft. "You sleep."
"Just for a minute," Gil mumbled again as he actively snuggled closer to her.
"Just for a minute," she promised, when in reality she was going to let him lie there and sleep if she had to sit with him all night. They could lock up the studio around her, for all she cared.
