Willia doesn’t understand that being in Detroit where everyone is trigger happy and confrontational is Raylan’s vacation. A whole army can come at Raylan and he’ll be fine so long as he’s not in Harlan.

lady ren
Tumblr media
summary: you're kylo ren's wife. the resistance thinks he's taking advantage of you, but little do they know... warnings: reader goes by she/her pronouns, short reader, major character death, no y/n use, reader was a jedi, kylo ren is a warning himself.
(my works are diverse to all races and ethnic backgrounds, as a mixed race girlie i feel yall's pain my fellow poc's)
a/n: i've been gone far to long, but i've discovered the beauty called kylo ren. also he looks so hot in that gif.... love dat emo space daddy.
When Rey first saw you, you were on Jakku. Surrounded by The Knights of Ren, you looked tiny, your arm latched onto Kylo's waist as he towered over you, looking brooding in his mask. You had vanished shortly after, but Rey had gotten a glance at you. Beautiful. Shiny hair, glowing skin. But not...evil. You didn't look like you belonged with the First Order. In fact, you gave off an aura somewhat like a Jedi.
Little did they know... you had been. You and Kylo were both trained under Luke Skywalker to become Jedi, and had become close friends, although Skywalker had tried to split you up. The darkness in Ben had slowly grown into you, and the night that Luke tried to kill him was the breaking point. You had ran and joined the First Order. At first you kept mostly to yourself. Following Ben- now Kylo, wherever he went. As he slowly gained respect in the First Order, and caught attention of Supreme Leader Snoke, so did you. You were both praised for leaving the Jedi, and soon people became afraid of Kylo... but they might as well have been more scared of you.
You were quiet, but you were also funny, even in the gravest of situations, which was somewhat disconcerting. Although you usually listened, rather than talked, when you did have something to say, everyone listened. Not to mention the fact that you bested some of the First Order's most prized soldiers. You were Kylo's closest confidant, his only friend, and the only one who could calm him down (especially when he decided to wreak havoc on some poor lab tech's control panel.)
It was no surprise when he asked for your hand in marriage, and you got engaged. Kylo wanted the wedding to be perfect, waiting to become officially married until you could both return to his home planet, Chandrila. But there was much to do before that.
Rey told Leia and Han of their son's mysterious mistress. The beautiful woman, standing in the heat of Jakku. Of course, they were shocked, at the mere thought of their son having... anyone. But intead of elation, as a mother might usually feel for a son, General Organa felt worry. She had no idea who this woman was, if her son was using her, or if it could be the other way around.
Han had been worried too. But it was his nature to be more curious. So when he first saw you, watching from a bridge above, guarded by two of The Knights of Ren, he had to wave, and you waved right on back. You tapped the ring on your finger and smiled, doing a little dance. But wherever you were, Kylo was always nearby, and as you watched Kylo storm onto the bridge to see his father, you grimaced and pointed at the flurry of darkness.
Rey and Finn watched you, perplexed, as to how someone could take the entire situation so lightly. "Who does she think she is?" Finn had asked, slightly annoyed. "I don't know" Rey replied simply, watching intently as Kylo approached his father, and you leaned over the railing slightly smiling.
Kylo turned back to look up at you, just before approaching his Han, and you audibly giggled. Rey had scoffed. Rey and Finn's eyes bounced between the scene unfolding before them, with you, talking quietly to the two knights, Ushar and Vircrul, and Kylo and Han, seemingly... rekindling?
And finally... Kylo took his helmet off. It dropped to the ground. He quickly looked at you, and you winked, biting your lip. Vircrul probably snorted (but he would never admit it.) And just as Kylo was about to shockingly give his lightsaber to his father...
Rey and Finn watched in horror as the lightsaber went through Hans. They were both frozen in shock, and looking up, expecting you to see the same. But you weren't terrified. You weren't even shocked. You simply smiled down on Kylo, and made your way down to see him. As Han's body fell of the bridge, you squealed in delight. You picked up Kylo's mask, rose up on your tippy toes to give him a kiss on the nose, and simply placed his helmet on his head again.
As Rey rushed to escape, followed by Chewie and Finn, she thought she couldn't have been more wrong about the Lady Ren.

Cody and Din stop on Tatooine. Din meets someone unexpected from Cody’s past, which leads to a sweet reunion. Part 3\3 (part 1), (part 2).
 ‘Blast ‘em!’
Cody woke up with a barely concealed cry on his lips. Din was snoring quietly in the co-pilot seat, luckily not disturbed, wrapped into a patchwork blanket gifted by a kind old Rodian lady during their latest stop on Jakku. ‘Good, - Cody thought, shifting to warm up sleepy right arm, - our nightmares take turns’.
Not for the first time he would wake up like that. Sometimes there would be him murdering innocent citizens, sometimes blank eyes of his surviving brothers serving the Empire with him, and sometimes his former General. There were different dreams, where Cody could see again him smiling, meditating, reflecting blaster bolts of the Separatist opponents, lifting laughing troopers in the air on the Negotiator, talking to Cody both about war or mundane issues and in general trusting him.
What did Cody do to repay all of it? All this kindness, friendship, love they all got?
‘It wasn’t my choice, - at such moments Cody was telling himself over and over again. – The chip in my brain took away my conscience, I wasn’t able to do anything against it’. But this mantra didn’t help at all. It didn’t change the fact. Yes, the Empire was the culprit behind all of it, but Cody’s hands were red with the General’s blood. And he would never wash it off. Least he could do was not to allow anyone else take his mind away.
He was an idiot back on Utapau letting himself believe that everything would be over soon. Believing that in some hours they would be free of war, blood and destruction. Letting himself hope, openly flirting with his General – something he usually tried to tone down, being professional, even though General Kenobi was quite open to reciprocating their bantering with twinkling in his eyes. At that day he didn’t even try to hide his feeling. And he would remember forever how the General’s eyes were full of promise.
Now he thought that even if everything would have turned out well, it was barely possible for them to start anything. Not because of a wide-accepted civilian misconception of ‘attachments are not allowed within the Jedi Order’ – after all, not everyone were being idiots like Skywalker – but he realized the Senate never entertained even a mere idea of giving personhood to the clone troopers. They’d be sent back to Kamino, or used in other spheres as free workers – but with no Jedi by their side to encourage them, to actually see them as people. The Senate wouldn’t’ve allowed that. After all, there wasn’t any big difference between the Jedi and the clone troopers situations – both made to do something without being asked if they actually wanted to, with absolute disregard to their feelings, opinions, morals.
But Cody would’ve preferred this to killing his General. His friend. His love.
---
Being a smuggler wasn’t that bad. They needed money while looking for a rebel cell, and, as much as the business went against Cody’s morals – well, it could’ve been worse. He chose small cargoes for small people, always checking for illegality, for example, he had to turn down several spice offers. He didn’t work for long distances for stealth measures. So far, they got enough credits to go by.
Din insisted he was big enough and armed enough to go with Cody to the rendezvous point. He watched excitedly as weighing pros and cons were changing on his guardian’s face, though Din didn’t see any problem – they’d been to wretched places before. After almost a year of such meandering across the Galaxy Din thought he wouldn’t be surprised or scared by anything. Except the Empire. He still couldn’t help tensing in fear seeing humanoids in white clothes, and he found it hard to imagine what he would do if met a real stormtrooper. He also knew that Cody used to be an Imp, but he had had a chip in his head that made him do it, and before the Empire he was a good guy, a hero. Even if Cody himself never said anything like the latter, Din decided so – from his tales and stories he shared with him about his past. He told him about adventures, his brothers, the Jedi he was in love with. Din saw that sometimes these memories made Cody very-very sad, but Cody would say ‘Somebody has to pass the truth about those times’. At night, when not dreaming about his home and parents, he dreamed about himself barging into the Imperial Palace, with the Darksaber and a blaster, in shining armour, and defeating evil guys who inflicted so much pain on those he loved – both back on Aq Vetina and now on Cody.
Alas, Cody decided it was too dangerous for Din to go – ‘too much villainy around there’. Sometimes adults were really weird, Din sulked, sitting in the pilot’s cabin and picking at a toy Cody bought him some time after their meeting. It looked like an oversize deformed frog with huge ears – Cody said it reminded him of ‘General Yoda’. Din considered himself old enough not to need toys, but he couldn’t take his eyes off it, and Cody’s gesture he appreciated nonetheless, and holding the toy relieved some stress.
Suddenly he heard some sounds – growling? He peeked out of the window, and saw a man not far away from their ship trying to fight off several womprats. The beasts were snarling, circling their pray, snapping salivating jaws and biting the hem of his robe. Without a second thought Din ran to the trap taking out his blaster. One shot in the air was enough for animals to hunch and run away whining, leaving the man with tears in his already tattered robe.
– Are you all right? – Din came closer. The man smiled warmly seizing examining his losses:
– I am, thanks to you, young man. Are you alone here? – his voice bled with concern, as if he wasn’t being attacked by huge aggressive carnivores some moments before. – It is quite dangerous.
– No, I’m with… my father, - Din didn’t put away his blaster, though somehow he knew the man wouldn’t harm him. – He’s busy, but he’ll come soon, - added he hastily.
– Shall I offer you my company until he arrives? Of course, I see you’re very capable yourself, - he nodded at the weapon Din was clutching in his fingers, - but my conscience doesn’t allow me to leave a child unprotected here, - at that Din couldn’t keep from snorting, and the man smiled tiredly again, hugging himself into his robe as if freezing. – Sorry for imposing myself, - he looked lost. – Ben, Ben Kenobi.
Din immediately perked up at a familiar name. Kenobi? Wasn’t he Cody’s Jedi general back in the war? Was this man a relative of his? Now, when Din actually payed attention, he did look a lot like Cody’s descriptions of his beloved.
– Din, - he tucked the blaster into his belt, returned to the ship and sat on the ramp, wordlessly inviting Ben do the same. – I heard about a General Kenobi. Are you related?
Ben tensed, then slowly came to the ramp and sat near Din. Then he sighed:
– Kind of, yes. Don’t know much about him, though. Where did you hear about him? Didn’t he turn out to be a traitor? – Ben’s eyes were kind, but to Din’s mind, his voice sounded like he was gnawing stones. As if every word gave him physical pain. If he was trying to hide his distress, he failed grossly at it.
– Well, I just heard he was kinda cool back then, - Din started drawing indecipherable scrabbles in the sand with the toe of his boot. – My father served, - he looked at Ben through eyelashes. – He said Kenobi was killed by his troopers.
Ben swallowed hard and blinked, staring in the distance. That all was too weird. Din started suspecting, and the suspicion grew into conviction with every moment observing the man.
– Then I guess he wasn’t that ‘cool’, as you say, - Ben answered in some time with a watery chuckle. – Sorry for my spoiling your mood, young Din.
– Well, there’re not so many reasons to be happy now, - Din grumbled. – And I don’t think the Jedi were so bad. I mean, my father always says nice things about them, - Din felt like a genius intelligence agent fishing for information to confirm his clues about unsuspecting Ben.
– It’s risky to say anything nice about the Jedi, - Ben said, looking cautiously at Din. Was he suspecting Din would call the stormtroopers any moment? At this thought Din winced. And then noticed a familiar figure approaching them.
– Wait, I want to introduce you to my father, - Din’s heart jumped excitedly as he leaped on his feet and ran off to Cody who already had his hand on his hip – where he hid his blaster. In another hand he was clutching a bundle.
– Din, who’s this? – he caught Din just at the moment when in his hurry he tripped over his feet and almost collided into the man. Din grinned:
– I bet you’ll like him, - his heart was pounding with excitement when he grabbed Cody’s hand from his blaster and dragged him to the ship.
Ben stood up with his hands tucked into his sleeves, looking as he was going to flee at any moment. But he inclined his head politely at seeing an adult:
– I apologize for thrusting myself into your lives, but I just could not leave a child lone in the desert to the dangers.
‘They didn’t recognize each other? Aren’t Ben… not him?’ – Din’s heart fell with bitter disappointment. He felt guilty for rising Cody’s hopes… though he didn’t even say anything particular about his new acquaintance…
– General? – the immense disbelief in Cody’s voice made Din step aside and raise his head – Cody pulled up the hood looking as if he didn’t trust his own eyes. Din look at Ben and, to his joy, the man was rigid, almost slack-jawed, wide-eyed.
– Cody? – Ben croaked at last, not taking his eyes off Din’s ‘father’. Then he made a hesitant step forward, and Din barely blinked when Cody dropped his bundle, practically ran to Ben, and they both wrapped their arms around each other, Ben… no, Obi-Wan sobbing quietly into Cody’s shoulder.
Din kept silent, not interfering, thinking that at least some justice was done. A little bit of fixing the Galaxy and a little bit more of happiness.
---
The brush dipped into the can. Cody was watching as golden-orange paint was drying in heat of the Tatooine suns.
– I bet you’ll like him, - Din was uncharacteristically chirpy and animated, tugging him to the ship and particularly to a man who stood up at seeing them. Cody had no idea who he was – up to the moment they came closer, he saw a familiar face and heard a familiar Coruscanti accent. His first thought was ‘I’m delusional’. It was all too impossible. Not in this karking rotten Galaxy. He felt numb taking off his hood.
– General? – It was too good to be true.
– Cody?
He didn’t remember himself running, only being afraid to fully believe. He came around holding his former General in his arms, feeling his living warmth pressing into him, hearing incoherent teary mumbling into his shoulder, with mist in his own eyes and a lump in his throat.
– I’m so glad to see you again, - the General moved a little to meet Cody’s eyes, their faces mere inches away. He looked as if the weight of the whole Galaxy was on his shoulders and grief was his constant friend. Cody would never blame him for feeling so – he shared it. But there was joy, and that warmed Cody’s heart enough for hope starting to bloom tentatively. Maybe, they weren’t lost after all.
Cody raised the brush and applied a little bit more paint on the middle stripe again to colour gray lines showing through brightness.
– I’m so sorry, - Cody’s knees grazed against the floor, the guilt crushing him down. – We all had chips in our brains… we couldn’t fight them… - the excuse was so flimsy-thin Cody even felt awkward. No reasoning would change what’d been done by all of his brothers and himself. He felt his throat squeezing, he stubbornly kept his eyes on the small patch of dirt – looked like long-spilled tea – on the floor.
– I’m so sorry we couldn’t help you, - why was the General apologizing? It wasn’t him who betrayed the troopers’ trust and killed them all. Cody saw the Jedi falling on his knees next to him, then a gentle touch on his face. He raised his head obediently, meeting the eyes filled with undeserved kindness. – I forgave you long before you came here, before I knew you didn’t do this on purpose, - he whispered, cupping Cody’s face. – I couldn’t understand what we did to wrong you, but you are here now.
– I started questioning… - Cody shut his eyes, feeling heat and wetness gathering there again, - I tried to save Boil… Got mine taken out here… - he felt like he was falling apart there, kneeling on the floor of the small cabin in the desert, in front of the man he deemed killed by his men on his order. And then he found himself in a warm embrace, his former General rubbing small circles between his shoulder blades.
– You overcame the conditioning. You are so strong. I am proud of you, - Cody sensed a sad smile in his voice and dared to hug him in return, being rewarded with a small sigh which seemed as a good sign. – I’m really happy you’re here. By the way, do not call me ‘General’ – we’re friends. I’m not your General anymore anyway. Just ‘Obi-Wan’ will do. Or ‘Ben’.
– All right, Obi-Wan, - Cody murmured into so cozy shoulder, tasting the name aloud for the first time. It sounded as it belonged on his tongue.
Cody raised his head letting warm morning breeze caress his face. It was early enough not to be boiling, but the premonition of heat was already in the air.
– I don’t feel like a Jedi anymore, - Cody would never believe such words if it wasn’t Obi-Wan himself saying them, looking absolutely devastated. – I failed everyone. The Order, the Republic, my apprentice…
– Your apprentice did it to himself, - Cody didn’t manage to conceal his acerbic voice. – He’s too happy now oppressing the worlds.
He caught the dumbfounded expression on Obi-Wan’s face. ‘Force, he didn’t know’, - Cody regretted being harsh and took his hand:
– Anakin is alive. He’s Darth Vader now.
Cody blew on the paint – in one place it refused to dry, remaining sticky.
– You’ll be fine on Alderaan, Din, - crouching Cody laid his hand on the boy’s shoulder. – Living with two desert hermits is not a life for a kid. Senator Organa personally found a family who are happy to adopt you.
– I know it must be done, - Din nodded solemnly, and Cody marveled at his attitude – too adult for a child. It hurt to let go, but he believed Din would find his way. Din threw his arms around Cody’s neck, and Cody hugged him back. – I’ll see you again. I promise.
Cody took a sponge and cleaned up some speck of dust on the white surface, careful not to smudge the paint.
– So your former apprentice tried to burn you alive, - Cody gently cleaned the nasty scorch on Obi-Wan’s shoulder from the sticking remains of cloth. – I’m sorry. But after him murdering kids I’m not surprised at all, just glad you got away.
– I’ll be fine, darling, - something in his voice changed, but Cody couldn’t exactly put his finger on it. – I saw Qui-Gon.
– You mean, your Master? Isn’t he…
– The Force ghost, - a heavy sign. – As much as it hurts to know, Anakin did it to himself, he admitted as much. You were right all along, though for wrong reasons, - Obi-Wan gave a weak chuckle. – You just never liked him very much.
– You’ve always been a better General than him, - Cody briefly pressed his lips to Obi-Wan’s cheek making him smile.
Cody raised his head – Obi-Wan was returning with a bucket of water. Putting it in the house, he settled himself next to Cody, pressing their shoulders and staring into the wavy-line dunes on horizon line, catching moments before going to work. Cody touched the paint and was satisfied with the result – golden shining colour was a tangible reminder of his brothers, of everything good he’d had and still was having.
Somewhere the Darksaber was still waiting. Waiting for the rise of Mand’Alor the Sunbringer.
A year or two after these events Din is stolen from his family, and Cody’s asked to help find him. Din is adopted by a New Mandalorian refugees family on Alderaan, so he’s kidnapped for some political leverage – his adoptive family are relatives of Clan Kryze. Cody, Rex and Wolffe are sent to retrieve Din, eventually they find him, in the process they become entangled with Bo-Katan and her Nite Owls. Cody is given the title of Mand’Alor, so he decides to rise MandoClone rebellion making both factions work together. Mandalore is freed, de-chipped clones are settling there, too. Here I want to specify that they’re not Mandos, they have their own culture which is more of a combination of their own ideas traditions, Jedi ideas and something else from different worlds they liked. Cody is named as Kote the Sunbringer, though he doesn’t like it very much.
Din’s adoptive parents give him up as they see it too dangerous to keep him, so Cody adopts him as his own. Din perceives Cody as his own example and ideal to live by, often arguing ‘that’s what a Mandalorian should be like’.
Tatooine becomes a focus of Imperial attention as Vader doesn’t give up the idea of finding Obi-Wan again. So Obi-Wan takes Owen, Beru and Luke and moves to Mandalore. Din becomes quite protective of little Luke, later they become friends, even later – boyfriends. They all work with the Rebellion, Obi-Wan training Luke and trying to commemorate all the knowledge he has about the Order, Cody becomes one of main Rebellion leaders (though no one knows who he is in real life).
In 0BBY Din works alongside Luke and his gang. They defeat the Empire (I’d be as gracious as keeping Vader alive). Luke rises the Order again, with the knowledge he gets from Obi-Wan and Anakin (possibly Ahsoka and the other survivors). Leia leads the New Republic. Din takes up the mantle of the Mand’Alor, so Cody can spend more time with his beloved. And yes, aging code was in the chips, so when they’re destroyed or malfunctioning, aging stops, so the clones lives long happy lives, too.

hey guys, so I’ve finished reading BnHA 342 which was a delight to read, but my reaction post is very, very long and will take some time to edit, so in the meantime I’ve decided to make a separate post just to talk about this one character interaction which I am absolutely obsessed with!
let’s see how long of an analysis I can make about this ONE, SINGLE JOKING REMARK THAT KACCHAN MADE COMPLETELY OFFHANDEDLY.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. so first off, let’s just cut straight to the heart of the matter: this. is. friendship. no more denial. no more HAH, NO WAY, OF COURSE WE AREN’T FRIENDS NOW WALK BEHIND ME!!! the Kacchan who was too embarrassed and too chuuni to admit that he was friends with Shouto died at Jakku. and the Kacchan who’s been running the show ever since then is someone who openly worries about Shouto (asking about him immediately after waking up in the hospital), unabashedly provides him with emotional support (hand on the shoulder when class 1-A confronted Endeavor), and hangs out with him in his room because he doesn’t want Shouto to be going through all this shit alone.
2. speaking as someone whose own #1 love language is using humor to try and relax people and make them feel comfortable and safe and welcomed and at ease, the fact that Katsuki used a joke as his chosen method of support here brought me SO MUCH JOY I can barely even begin to express it. and it’s not even the first time he’s done this! never forget that one time after Kamino where class 1-A was all bummed after Aizawa told them off for coming to save him, and so he grabbed Kaminari and dragged him into the bushes and made him activate his derp mode in order to ease the tension! and also to distract them so he could quietly pay Kirishima back for the night vision goggles, because that is his OTHER love language (cold hard cash!! nah lol I’m referring to the act of physically, tangibly paying him back; showing his gratitude not just with words but with actions), but yeah.
my point is, for someone who always seems to be so angry and serious, Kacchan has a sharp sense of humor that he apparently just keeps tucked away under wraps, and dusts off only for rare special occasions like these, and I absolutely LOVE it and I need it to happen WAY MORE OFTEN. there is a very real possibility of me making a compilation post of every single time Kacchan has made a joke and/or actually laughed about something, just because I’m that desperate to know more about this expertly dry wit of his now.
3. getting back to his friendship with Shouto, this next talking point is the one that’s already been done to death (because you know I went and looked up all those 342 tumblr reactions and metas after I read this chapter because I needed to soak up that analysis asap), but nonetheless this post would not be complete without it! so this is very obviously a commentary on the fact that Shouto’s favorite food is cold soba! a fact which is known to every single citizen of the world! in fact this joke even takes that last part into account, since it relies on that fact being common knowledge in order to stick the landing! in a way it’s partially a friendly little dig at Shouto for making his favorite food such an important part of his personality! like, “hmm, so what would be the worst case scenario for Touya. well obviously it would be him liking something other than soba, since we all know that’s a deal-breaker.” basically this joke derives a good 60% of its humor from the fact that Shouto just loves soba THAT damn much. and Kacchan is obviously WELL aware of this fact because, as we all know, he and Shouto are actually best friends.
4. quick side note, this is also a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it callback to chapter 164, which featured this hilarious interchange between Shouto and his OTHER best friend.
Tumblr media
thus adding the additional meta layer that Shouto actually does canonically consider people who like udon to be FUNDAMENTALLY INCOMPATIBLE WITH HIM AS PEOPLE lmao. and Katsuki knows this because he was listening in on that whole conversation and bitching about the two of them being total weirdos! but ALSO he was apparently filing notes away in the back of his big hero brain because he loves Todo actually, so yeah. love it when a scene in a newer chapter retroactively makes a scene from an old chapter even better.
5. lest you worry that Kacchan is back to his OLD VILLAINOUS BULLYING WAYS by poking fun at poor sweet innocent Shouto here, let’s now talk about the ways in which this joke is also a sick burn on Touya! because that of course is the other 40% of the joke! if Shouto’s favorite food is soba, then OBVIOUSLY Touya’s favorite food is going to be the complete opposite of that, because Touya is the worst! just the absolute worst. man fuck that guy!
so there are a couple of additional layers to this part. the first is that Katsuki is very much aware of the delicate balance that needs to be struck here. because he genuinely, unironically DOES know Shouto pretty damn well by now, and so he understands how conflicted Shouto is about his brother. and because he’s a good friend, he’s supportive of Shouto’s desire to somehow redeem Touya if at all possible. and so instead of going all in on how Touya is a founding member of the final villains club WHO BRAGGED ABOUT KILLING THIRTY PEOPLE and who also KIDNAPPED HIM THAT ONE TIME, the worst thing that Kacchan accuses him of here is... having a different favorite food than Shouto. this is basically the gentlest, mildest “fuck that guy” that anyone could have possibly given here.
and then the second bonus layer is that Katsuki is very clearly taking Shouto’s side here. that’s the only possible way for this joke to land. the humor works because Katsuki takes the mundane accusation of liking hot udon, and twists it into a sick fucking burn, because ONLY AN UNHINGED LUNATIC WOULD DARE TO LIKE SUCH A COMPLETELY OPPOSITE FOOD FROM COLD SOBA, THE BELOVED FAVORITE FOOD OF TODOROKI SHOUTO. in other words, if you don’t like Todoroki Shouto’s favorite food, then FUCK YOU! Team Soba all the way! so yeah, it has that connotation too, which is actually very sweet.
6. last but not least, I just want to take a moment to gush about how this was all just perfectly executed and timed. Shouto sets him up for it, and Kacchan pounces on the opportunity without hesitation and delivers the perfect response, which immediately relieves some of the quiet tension in the room, and honest to god actually makes Shouto laugh.
Tumblr media
sort of! that was a chuckle at least! it counts!! anyways the point is, Katsuki read the room perfectly and understood that Shouto was trying to lighten the mood and didn’t want to have a heavy conversation about all of his feelings right now (which is something that Katsuki understands very well), so he followed Shouto’s lead and met him at that level, while still managing to communicate (1) “I know how conflicted you are about all of this”, (2) “I’ve got your back”, and most importantly, (3) “we are friends, and I care about you and support you in all things, you big soba loving freak.” it’s affectionate, it’s heartwarming, and it’s genuinely funny as hell.
anyway so yeah, that’s my RIDICULOUSLY, UNJUSTIFIABLY LONG post about what has instantly become one of my all time favorite little throwaway BnHA moments, right up there with the legendary “hey Kacchan!” scene. Kacchan being friends with people. Shouto getting some much-deserved love. Iida and Kirishima being there too, and presumably smiling and taking notes and maybe one day they can tell their children about this. that’s what it’s all about folks.

BNHA 428: This chapter made me annoyed and yet it was still somewhat better than I expected?
Himichako. I like it, it's a good ship- not one I'm crazy about, but the vision is compelling. I mean, the loved girl on hard times who admires honesty but represses her feelings + hunger motifs, and the formerly wealthy and rejected girl who's honest to herself but masks her sadness from others + drinking motifs? Being so similar at their core from selfishness, bleeding love, admiration and imitation? Yeah, why not, sign me up, it looks fun.
(plus Ochako needed a subplot that would shy away from Izuku because oh boi her writing is messy-)
Then the ending annoucement happened and I immediately went "oh no" when I remembered that tidbit. But. Yesterday, I remembered this page from 424, which in hindsight makes sense:
Shoto moving forward and choosing to not dwell on his past anymore, because he wants to know the man he wants to become alongside his family of choice.
Spinner feeling so much grief for Tomura inside his room, his extra Quirks add up to it. Further gut points as it was all because of AFO, but the wrong person is getting the blame.
Ochako looking lost and dissatisfied, not really saying anything about Himiko's status; then her hidden injury which left a scar that'll never go away, nothing can change that.
And then, well, a sky with a chance to fight for a "bright future". Which is the most ambiguous you can get for anything, really, sequel or not.
Tumblr media
(sidenote: is it me or the panel where she's touching her stab wound looks like a tangent line?)
Okay so, I went into the chapter, with Pikahlua's translations. It was A Chapter alright-
If it wasn't the antepenultimate chapter, the "filler" would've been welcomed. But I guess it means we should focus on the smaller details, I guess? Like that 1st year saying Izuku filled him with courage and Izuku immediately thinking of Spinner's pain? Yeah he hates himself and that people call him a hero, when he considers himself a murderer, and will never forgive himself for failing Tenko, therapy for him and everyone in Class 2-A please- yeah it was a fun detail. Also the throb of hiding your pain of "defeating" someone you wanted to save but in the end everything is miserable but everyone else is happy and you don't wanna be a bother. Fun.
Also I wasn't the one to point the out, but looking at the uniform (U.A. uniform blazer for boys + the tie with a dot for girls), the student who's a Izuku fan is probably trans/gnc, which I appreciate a lot :D (Damn Izuku attracts so many queer people I wonder if that's a sign- /hj)
Also, I guess Class A stating "[Bakugou], Midoriya and Todoroki were at the heart of it all" then focusing on Ochako is good foreshadowing on how her own battle wasn't fully recorded? It's like saying in the end her fight didn't matter, but the other ones went "well", so she's trying (and slowly failing) to keep her sadness at bay because, well, everyone's happy, so who cares? Another "throb".
I thought since the Todoroki family issues are out in the open, didn't they record the whole thing? Then I re-read it, they only saw the family stopping Touya from exploding. So they didn't see Shoto trying to talk to Touya, which means none of the LoV were humanized. Fuck's sake.
After that, I get focusing on the first years and civilians wanting to help and all, but it feels like a repeat of everything seconds before Jakku, so I assume it's a way for them to pretend things are normal? But not-quite-quoting Katsuki (<- which I will point out for my sake is very much alive and well and- oh boi LFtR will kill me) and Edgeshot here because it made me smile:
"Will you...go back to the way you were?" "I plan to attain something greater than what I was originally!"
So, yeah I suppose he'll be fine eventually. (Best J. really loving Edgeshot even as a worm, honestly, goals)
Again with Izuku remembering saying "[He'll] bring it all back" and apologizing for "not keeping his promise" and others telling him to not blame himself and they can reconstruct as many times as it takes. Again, gave me a little smile, but not for long-
Finally, Ochako pretending things are fine. Hello there, Sports Festival/Provisional License!Ochako I missed you- /hj (I miss the dorms era in general, actually.)
So... *sigh* Full disclosure: I wasn't looking forward to Himichako as we were getting 5/10 pages for the "conclusions" in the previous two, I thought Ochako would be off about Himiko being depressed about the League. But since she's MIA, red flags are now red herrings, and it's better than the dead outcome. If Ochako got another person dying in her arms that'd just break her character.
A blood transfusion takes hours, she couldn't been doing that for more than 20min, if it was gonna kill anyone it'd be Ochako. Either Himiko ran away or got arrested, and Ochako feels guilty because she doesn't know if she's dead or not. Not great, but until I see a corpse she ain't dead. Besides: Touya, Shoto, Edgeshot, Katsuki, Toshinori, Ochako herself, all physically hurt unlike her, and yet they live.
And then we have Izuku showing up. I'm upset he used OFA embers for this, but eh, it's Izuku, do I expect anything else?
Rolling with the assumption Himiko died (like our POV characters), Izuku would need to face his own failure in Ochako- Failed to save two people like she failed Himiko, but it'd be so. Empty. Ochako was true to herself, while Izuku gave nothing but "I want to save that crying kid" while fighting Tenko. The most they can do is bond with "failing" and "this isn't what we fought for". This is not really a moment where he can be a shoulder to cry on, it'd come across as hypocritical /neg.
The only way it could make sense it without being shallow on Mr. Control = Repress Your Heart's part (as he didn't open up to the two people who died in "his watch") is Ochako telling how Himiko loved yet seeing him repressing this part of his is idiotic? She likes people who are true to themselves, which Izuku hasn't been for ages, leading to him realizing something. I thought it'd be through a DvsK3 but. I'll take it, two chapters left, I just want his thoughts (and for them to talk but that can happen in the last one).
They only recorded Shoto stopping Touya from being a suicidal bomb, Ochako floating a bunch of Twice!Himiko clones and Izuku entering a coccon, popping out armless, getting them back, punching Tenko to death. The "I want to save [them]" wasn't registered, it makes sense they're (well, Izuku and Ochako mostly) weirded out about this, dissatisfied like most readers are (sidenote: why when it comes to the trio either Ochako or Shoto get sidelined? So much could tie their stories together and yet-)
It's still a tough pill. I'm not a villain stan, just wondering if those fights were for nothing- the humanity of Tenko and Himiko? Can't be proved for anyone else, since they weren't recorded.
And I don't know if anyone saw the same thing, but those "city lights" look like the bubbles from Ochako's awakening, maybe we'll get a Blackwhip or Entrance Exam callback? Maybe it's what the tagline meant by "hidden feelings", since she unlocked it to reach Himiko and doesn't think anyone would understand why. I hope it's just a nice visual though.
If Himiko is truly dead though... You know, I headcannoned the characters were telling the story through confessionals/recordings to register it to the world so they'd learn from that, but I guess the interviews Aizawa was talking about seemed more likely, which. Well it's something, but I thought it'd be everyone instead of just Class A. Idk. The idea the LoV didn't change anything, or that they did change things but don't get to see it, is bitter.
So uh. Yeah, those are my thoughts. I'm not sure how to feel about it, on one hand I want Izuku to finally open up but on the other, it feels like it'll be at Himiko and Ochako's expense by involving him in something that's theirs now. And there's a chance we'll get the "nothing is fine" from Ochako- god I'm fearing the discourse next week already :DDDD
... Man, and this is a bad timing to be in the fandom, considering the LFtR episode airs this Saturday (which will be yesterday by the time this post goes up and I'll be crying about that instead-), so uh. Yeah, this fandom will be emotionally devastated for two reasons XD
Okay, so I'll try ending this on a more optimistic note: I think Himiko is alive, and Ochako just doesn't know it, which is why we're getting 0 confirmation and a breakdown. Izuku's confrontation with her can make or break this plot, but as long as 1) we acknowledge the emotional, different stakes between the Himichako fight and Tenko vs. Izuku one and 2) it doesn't end in a confession (and let's be real, it won't), then we're probably good (sadly, if you disregard the LoV status). I still think it's an ass pull for the camera battery to go out though.
But no matter how this goes: C'mon, two chapters left now, this one was wasted on the first years, smh, let this sequel hopium be a reality I wanna know who's the 425 guy, not the poor first year who's gonna replace Shindo Yo in fanfics- /hj

"It's in a droid. A BB unit," Kylo said right after exitting the questioning.
"That would be right. I heard Dameron had a droid with him, but I didn't see it," Y/N replied.
"Well then. If it's on Jakku, we'll soon have it," Hux added.
"I leave that to you," Kylo grunted at him, then softened his voice just a notch to speak to the girl. "Y/N, I will need to talk to you soon."
"You know where to find me," she replied, earning an expression of utter disbelief from Hux. The moment Ren left, she looked at the General with a bit of annoyance.
"Oh, come on. It's better to be on his good side."
"If he's that interested in you all of sudden... It can't be good."
"Good thing I'm only interested in..." she began, then caught herself as a jerk of Hux's head reminded her there were Stormtroopers not far behind them. "I'll resume my duties at once, General," she added all of sudden, clearing her throat.
"You'd better."
She sent him one last smile before walking back to her station, and he gladly followed suit. They both came back to work as usual, but the day was just about to provide them with more surprises.
Dameron escaped with the help of one of the Stormtroopers, and other soldiers failed to retrieve the droid from Jakku. Both Hux and Kylo seemed furious because of it the former a bit less than the latter, but it was the General whose stress was to be relieved the very same day.
"Where are you headed, Lieutenant?" he asked Y/N sharply as he saw her standing up from her console he had been circling for the past few minutes so as not to miss her walking out.
It was hard for her to suppress a smile.
"To my quarters, sir. I have finished my shift."
"To your quarters?" he replied, approaching her with his hands on his back. "I don't think that's where you should be going."
"Where else then, General?"
His face was as stone cold as it could be, but she could tell he wanted to smile. He lowered his voice and spoke so quietly only she could hear him:
"You know the passwords. I'll join you in two hours, maybe less."
She bowed her head immediately. "Understood, sir."
Y/N was careful not to be seen when she was typing in the password to Hux's quarters. It was yet another piece of proof of how much he trusted her. On the other hand, he was still her superior and had the power to make her life miserable if he wanted, so maybe it wasn't really the only factor... But at the same time, nobody would let in someone into their private chambers without having at least some trust in them.
Y/N's own wardrobe was there as always, fully stocked, all the clothes inside fresh from the laundry. She got herself a black bathrobe and a towel, then went to the bathroom for a long-awaited shower.
Settling underneath the sheets on Hux's large bed was an indescribably comfortable feeling. Exhaustion finally took over; she didn't even know when she fell asleep, hugging the sheets as if they were a person.
Hux came back to his quarters even more than two hours later, overworked, exhausted and still upset because of Kylo, because of Dameron's escape, because of the betrayal of a Stormtrooper... All in all, the presence of the only person that could make him smile instantly was very much needed.
He was already in a better mood when he was typing in the password to his bedroom, knowing very well who was behind them. The door slid open and he entered immediately.
"So, what do you want for din..." He trailed off as he noticed the bed. Y/N was there, breathing steadily, looking as innocent as ever, although he knew she was not that pure.
A soft, genuine smile appeared on his face, an extremely rare one, since he didn't have to hide it from anyone. It was such a relief to see her there, so peaceful... So different from the life he experienced on a daily basis. She was his ray of light in the darkness of the war, and he could practically feel happiness fill him up as he watched her. Had he not met her, he would have never believed someone could give him this much joy.
Was this what love was?
He turned off all the lights in the bedroom so she could sleep peacefully, then almost tiptoed to the bathroom. He decided that there was nothing better to do than to settle himself next to her, especially since he had an inkling he would not be able to fall asleep too fast. It was always hard when nerves got to him, and that was definitely one of these nights when they did.
Having taken a shower, he climbed onto the bed as quietly as possible, then watched her for a moment as his eyes adjusted to the darkness. To him, she was beautiful, make-up on or not. He wanted to kiss her - it would be such a bliss, a perfect remedy to that awful day - but he did not wish to break her sleep, so he just watched her for a moment before grabbing his datapad. There were two, if not a few more things he wanted to order...
One hour later, Hux was still unable to sleep. His datapad was turned off, and so were all the lights in the room, leaving him staring at the ceiling with a soft buzz of electronics in the background.
He looked at Y/N's sleeping figure once again, barely able to make out her face features in the dark. He noticed her hair got to her face, and this time he could not stop himself; he had to move it away with all the affection he could muster, smiling as he did... And then he immediately regretted it, since the sudden touch caused her to stir awake.
"What's going on?" she asked, lifting her head slightly, eyelids hooded. "What... What time is it?"
He hated himself for waking her up, and was worried about her confusion. "Shhh. It's the middle of the night."
She rubbed her eye and looked at him, trying to figure out how she got to the place she was in. And then it clicked - she was supposed to wait for him...
"Kriff... I don't even know when I fell asleep, Armitage, I'm sorry..."
"Don't, don't worry," he insisted quietly.
"But... Is something happening?"
"No. You can sleep."
She fell silent for a moment, her brow furrowed as it was quite hard to think while still half-asleep.
"Then why... Why aren't you sleeping?"
He let out a small sigh. "I have trouble sleeping. A lot. But you sleep, I'll just..."
"How can I help you?" she asked immediately, catching him off guard. He didn't expect her to be this ready to act, especially given the circumstances.
"You're already helping," he confessed. He quickly realised talking to her like this, in the darkness, was much easier than anywhere else... And he allowed himself to be a bit vulnerable. "Every time you're here with me, I... I feel calmer than I have ever felt in my life. And one needs... Calmness to sleep."
"Then why aren't you?" she kept on asking, and he sighed again, wondering how she even got him to talk about these things.
"I guess because... A part of me fears losing you. And because of that I'm stressed again and... The circle continues. If I have worse days..."
"So I'm not helping," she cut him off, then began searching for his hands, the sheets rustling softly with her movements. "Armitage, I'm not going anywhere. And if you want to talk, you can talk to me. Even right now."
"I don't, I just... I want..." He trailed off as he didn't even know exactly what he wanted. Maybe just some assurance that she was there, real, and will continue to be? Maybe some hope that with time this relationship will only get better, even if there were so many obstacles? Maybe someone to tell him if what he was feeling was really love? And, if so, how to express it openly?
"What is it?" she asked in a whisper, moving closer to him. "I won't judge you whatever it is."
At that moment, he trusted his instincts, and allowed himself to wish for something he had been dreaming for the last few hours.
"Kiss me."
He didn't need to encourage her any further. She brought her hands to his face and placed a chaste kiss on his lips, one that clearly wasn't enough, because he quickly pulled her in for one more. It quickly turned out kisses exchanged like this, in complete darkness, with the rest of the universe gone, felt more intimate and touching than ever before. He could practically feel the tension evaporate as she snuggled into his side after few more kisses.
"If that was what you wanted, you could've woken me up sooner." She giggled and this sound alone allowed him to bathe in bliss. "But I understand you. I do have fears and doubts, too..."
"What fears?" he asked immediately with clear concern in his voice.
"I do fear you might... Change your mind one day." She sighed, her voice trembling slightly. "It's not that I don't trust you, but... Come on, you could have any woman in this galaxy with the power you have... So why me?"
Hux almost could feel his heart break at these words. How come she still had doubts?
And then, on the other hand... He also had them, so how to blame her...
But still, he was determined to show her that he will not be choosing any other woman. He couldn't even imagine one being half as perfect for him as she was...
"Don't ever say that, don't even think that I'm interested in any other woman," he whispered. "I've already told you this, but... You're really my cure, Y/N," he muttered the bravest confession he was capable of at the moment, and she accepted it. She didn't go into any further detail; her heart beating faster was all she needed to believe him at that moment.
"And you're mine," she whispered back, then snuggled into his side with one hand over his body. "If I stay like this... Would it be at least a bit easier to sleep?"
He took a deep breath. "You know the answer."
After that, he brought her even closer to himself, adjusting the duvet. "One day, when we'll be ruling the galaxy... You'll be at my side for everyone to see. Not hidden in here like this."
She smiled, and with that smile, fell into a peaceful slumber.
The next day, however, forced them to part again. The mission was not finished; Dameron escaped, and the First Order still didn't have the droid with the map they desired... Or at least Kylo did.
It was yet another day of work and trying not to look at the other, a game that was slowly driving them both insane, yet arousing them at the same time. The longing and the secret did make that relationship more interesting...
That evening Y/N went to her quarters for safety, but she did not it was going to be a usual one. There, on her bed, was a sealed box she did not remember being there in the morning.
"A gift?" she asked herself, plopping down onto the bed next to it. "Come on, Armitage... Is it you? Are you spoiling me again?"
She tried to unlock it with his password, and bingo. It was a confirmation that it was him who sent this, making her heart race.
She quickly noticed there were some clothes inside. Excited, she took them out to realise it was a dress... A very revealing dress.
"Oh, but this is..." She stood up and held it in front of herself.
The upper part of the dress was technically just a push-up bra. It was made of black and grey stripes, and they connected it with the skirt, two long pieces of black material covering only the front and the back - she could already see her hips would stay uncovered.
Back in the box, there was a message left.
I would love to see you in this.
And she would love to wear it for him, but it was not like she could put it on and just march into his quarters.
But...
She did know all his quarters passwords. She could just sneak into his bedroom while he was busy and wait for him there... She only needed a perfect occasion.
And the occasion presented itself when they landed on Starkiller. Y/N took just a few minute long bathroom break and when she came out, everyone at the base was running, rushing somewhere, most soldiers were throwing on their coats... In that chaos, she found Malia, and she explained to her what was going on.
The weapon was being finally charged and Hux wanted everyone outside.
What a breathtaking view it was, when minutes later she stood next to the other officers, and Hux was a few meters ahead of them, speaking to crowds of Stormtroopers and other soldiers.
"Today is the end of the Republic," Hux began, his voice seemingly echoing against the entire planet. "The end of a regime that acquiesces to disorder."
His voice was firm and frightening, even more so when one remembered he had the most deadly weapon in the galaxy at his disposal.
"I sometimes forget how scary Hux can get," Marlen whispered, leaning in so Y/N could hear him. She swallowed, nodding her head.
To her, his words were inspiring and arousing at the same time. She loved his commanding side, both in work and in bed, especially when she knew she would not suffer any negative consequences. Listening to him, she felt extremely proud; she knew how much it meant to him, how much time he spent on perfecting it and that it could bring him one step closer to conquering the galaxy just like he dreamed.
"He's really into it, isn't he?" Malia whispered as Hux continued, causing both herself and Marlen to chuckle. Y/N shot them an irritated look.
"He's just passionate about it," she said, then swallowed, realising she might have revealed too much. "As we all should be."
They looked at Y/N weirdly, but she rescued herself once again.
"What? This is why I'm a Lieutenant and you are not." She smiled proudly, then focused on listening to Hux again.
"All remaining systems will bow to the First Order!" Hux roared out and Y/N saw some officers take a step back out of intimidation. "And will remember this... As the last day of the Republic!"
Y/N got goosebumps and, judging by the looks on others' faces, she was not the only one. She never heard Hux speak with as much passion and power as at that moment. Stars, how was it possible to get even more attracted to him? And in a situation when she should be frightened?
"Fire!" The General roared and soon, the sky turned red. An enormous, red laser beam shot out of the planet, with so much power the wind it created caused all the nearby trees to collapse.
Hux was looking at it all with pride, and almost with tears in his eyes. It was the most successful moment of his military career, happening for the entire galaxy to see. His weapon, his big plan was being carried out... Could he be any happier?
And then he realised he could. A few meters behind him, there was the woman he adored just as much as the military. He wished she were at his side at that moment, watching the beauty of destruction with him as he watched hers...
He could not lose this opportunity, not when it was so special. Ren was on the ship, so nobody could read his thoughts... And no subordinate could question him.
He turned his head to the side. "Lieutenant Y/L/N."
"Yes, sir," she replied, breathless as she watched him bathed in the red light.
"Come here."
Nobody batted an eye at his command, not when almost everyone found him more frightening than ever before at the moment. Y/N approached him, pretending to be scared as well, then stood at his side - just like he wished.
"How can I help you, General?" she asked, but the answer was there, in his eyes. He did not dare smile at her in front of all the soldiers, and it took every ounce of willpower in him not to wrap his hand around her waist. One way or another, it was already brave for him to call her with everyone to see.
"Watch," he said simply, and she suppressed a smile as she turned towards the laser again.
He bathed in the bliss of the moment with her next to him before he had to send her away again, pretending he merely gave her an order.
They both felt they needed and wanted more. It was such a pity they could barely look at each other... That was why Y/N decided it would be best to do it that night, the night of his triumph.
She was sneaking into his quarters. Without his permission.
This could go both perfectly or completely wrong, but she hoped that even if he didn't want her company that night, he would at least appreciate the dress. She packed back into the box she received it in, and then, right after her shift, she quickly went into her quarters to grab it and then begin her plan.
Judging by what Hux was doing, she guessed she had at least one hour before he would come back to his bedroom. It was only a rough estimate and, of course, he could come much faster or much later, but she did decide to rush anyway. Her wardrobe was full of fresh supplies as always, so she took a quick shower, made sure her skin was as smooth as possible, untied her hair and brushed it, and then put on the dress.
Her breasts appeared to be bigger and so did her hips, completely uncovered. She did feel attractive in it, and quite excited about getting all dressed up for her lover, but still a bit worried about his reaction. After all, it was the first time she entered his quarters without any permission nor invitation, but on the other hand... He didn't give her his passwords for nothing, did he?
She decided that while she still had time, she'd try to put some make-up on, too. He loved it the last time she she dressed up, so why not do it again? After what he'd achieved, she decided he deserved the biggest prizes. As a mere soldier, she couldn't give him material things, or at least nothing he couldn't have at the snap of his fingers.
But herself...? He was the only one who could have her.
She was laying on his bed comfortably, all dressed up and scrolling through her datapad, waiting for him to come.
Hux didn't suspect a thing. He did intend to meet with her to celebrate, but not on that particular day, just to be safe. He knew that talking to her in front of everyone was already risky, but at the same time, she was a soldier like everyone else, just receiving duties. One way or another, when he was finally about to retire to his quarters after that glorious day, he did not expect to see what he saw.
The door to his bedroom opened right before his mouth. Y/N was sitting on the edge of his bed, smiling smugly. She looked stunning, and so different from her usual appearance, that for a moment he didn't recognise her at first glance. But when he did, it was difficult not to smile.
Could that day get any better?
"What are you doing here, Lieutenant?" he asked, as emotionless as he could be.
Y/N didn't get scared. She knew him already; everything was right there, in his eyes, and she felt she hit the jackpot.
"I came to congratulate you, General." She smiled again, straightening up so her chest would be even more visible. "And to carry out the duty you gave me... To see me in this, sir."
He closed the door, then walked slowly towards the wardrobe, taking off his gloves, his eyes never leaving her. She looked better than he had imagined and he couldn't even pretend to be mad at her for sneaking in. Stars, she could do that more often; he would certainly enjoy coming back to his quarters more.
"I can appreciate obeying my duties," he said, leaving his gloves on the wardrobe. He didn't have his coat nor his hat on, just the most basic uniform she adored him the most in.
"You're the ruler of the galaxy tonight," she continued, watching him unbuckle the belt around his waist. "That's why I want you to have a ruler-worthy celebration..."
She moved the piece of the skirt's material aside, then spread her legs, baring herself in front of him.
Hux's breath caught in his throat. Again, he didn't even scold her for having no underwear on as shivers went down his body. It would be a lie to say he had not been craving her ever since his speech, and there she was, inviting him in... And he knew exactly what he wanted to do.
He put his belt on the wardrobe, then turned to her fully. "Do I still have your permission to do new things?"
She restrained a squeal of excitement. "Yes... You can do whatever you want. Especially tonight."
It was the first time he allowed himself a smile, a smug one at that. He bent down to open a drawer and took out a black, shiny box out of it, causing Y/N to crane her neck as she tried to catch a glimpse of it.
"I do have something interesting I've been meaning to try out on you." He opened the box. "I was trying to find the suitable occasion... And look at you now." He smirked, indicating her still spread legs.
"What is it?" she asked with both curiosity and excitement as he took something out of the box. It was a black, egg-shaped device with a wire attached to it.
"Something to give you pleasure," he said smugly, approaching her slowly, "and pleasure only."
Before she could ask anything else, he turned on the device and pressed it against her clit before moving it down.
"Oh," she breathed out as he slid it inside her without much problem since she was already getting wet, kissing her lips in the process. "Oh."
"You look stunning," he whispered, stealing yet another kiss from her.
She beamed. "So I'm not getting discharged for sneaking in?"
"Oh, not discharged, but I can't leave that without a punishment." He took a step back. "You know this tiny little device," he slid his finger inside her, pushing it even further as she let out a gasp, "is connected to my datapad. So right now I can sit back..." He walked towards the armchair in front of the bed and picked up his datapad from it. "And enjoy the show."
She watched in shock as he sat down with pride, holding the datapad like a prize. She knew he now had complete control over her... But was that scary or exciting?
"You're unbelievable."
He chuckled, crossing his legs and solidifying his "ruler" aura. He did not expect to spend the evening that way, but stars, was that a much better plan than celebrating by himself.
"Oh, am I?" He raised his eyebrows. "Didn't you say I'm the ruler of the galaxy tonight?" He touched the datapad and slid his finger and it pulled a gasp out of her as the device began vibrating. It caught her by surprise, and even more when he turned it up.
"Fuck, Armitage," she breathed out, grabbing onto the sheets.
"What is it?" He laughed, watching her chest raise and fall quickly. "I've barely turned it on, love."
He had never called her this before and it worked wonders. At that point, she would give anything to hear it again, but the warmth and pleasure spreading from between her legs cut her off from any rational thinking. The fact that Armitage was watching all of this made her even more turned on.
When he noticed her cheeks got reddish, he decided it was a moment to go even further and turned up the power. Y/N's back fell against the mattress as she kept a tight grip on the sheets, curling her toes.
"Oh, fuck, fuck," she moaned as the vibrations became more intense. "A-Armitage..."
"Come on, this isn't even the highest setting... I know you can take more." He said, enjoying every second. "You're not innocent, are you, Lieutenant? You know what you came here for with no underwear on..."
She wasn't able to answer. Pleasure flowing through her, she writhed on the bed as he watched, his pants becoming tighter on him. He unzipped them to take out his erection, then began moving his hand along it. Never before had he masturbated to such a view, and never before had he felt this much arousal from the simplest movements.
He couldn't resist it. He turned on the highest setting, earning a moan so loud he was glad his quarters were soundproof. His breathing was growing faster as she arched her entire body, baring her throbbing clit before him.
Her breathing was growing faster and moaning louder; he sped up, too, but then suddenly turned everything off.
"No... How could you." Y/N propped herself up on her elbows, shooting him a disappointed look. "I was about to..."
"I'm not letting some vibrator take this from me," he rasped out, raising from his seat.
With shivers coming down her spine, she saw him approach with determination on his face. He pulled the vibrator out of her with a gasp, sending her wetness flowing down her thigh. He used one hand to grab raise her right leg and let her rest in on his shoulder, then did the same with the other. She soon felt his penis against her skin, and it caused her to gulp.
"I'll make sure you can't walk," he whispered before sliding into her with ease.
He began thrusting into her with more power than ever before, drunk on his success, his control, the triumph of the First Order... And she could only whimper and gasp for air in response as he hit all the right spots, filling her up completely.
His pace was growing rapidly, and he was ramming her into the mattress while the angle of her legs so high up drove them both crazy. She heard him grunt a few times and, as if all the other sensations weren't enough, it brought her to the edge.
He saw that, so he leaned it to kiss her before hearing the scream of her orgasm against his lips. He finished just seconds later, cumming inside her with pleasure, his fingers sinking into the skin of her legs. The pressure of the day evaporated at once, allowing both of them to bathe in complete bliss.
Hux left a chaste kiss on her cheek. She was panting and covered in sweat, her lipstick smudged and hairstyle ruined, but damn, was she happy. She gave him a sincere smile, which he returned before taking a step back to adore what he had created. The sight of his cum dripping out of her, onto the sheets, made him feel just as satisfied as when he watched the Starkiller weapon being fired.
"After that call you received..." she began breathing out, "and the handcuffs... I didn't know I could... Feel even better."
He smiled smugly, zipping his pants back. "Then do not underestimate me, Lieutenant."
"And that was a nice toy you gave me." She indicated the vibrator left next to her, sitting up. "I was never allowed that during my training..."
"I have a few more." He walked back to her, then put his hand under her chin. "But we'll get to them... Gradually." He kissed her again, this time allowing her to respond eagerly, throwing her hands around his neck.
"I'm so proud of you," she whispered after they parted for breath, cupping his face in her hands. "Your speech... It was... I couldn't stop marvelling."
He raised an eyebrow. "Ass-licking?"
She smirked. "If you're in for round two."
He shook his head before stealing yet another kiss. "I wished you were standing there with me."
"Well, you kind of made it happen." She shrugged, then smiled teasingly. "I see you've become a little daredevil lately, Armitage."
He sighed, unable to disagree. "Look what you made me do."
She giggled, and he adored that giggle so much, the sound so innocent he had never thought he'd come to love it. He could only kiss her again, simply unable to break away from her that day. That was just the cure he needed...
"Well, we both need a shower." He looked down at between her legs, where the cum was still flowing down. "And my sheets need laundry. Again."
She shrugged as she looked down, too. "Maybe next time you'll prepare better..."
"Me?" He snorted. "You are the one who came here uninvited. And with no underwear on," he said as if he didn't enjoy every moment of it.
"Oh, I'm sorry, maybe I should uninvite myself now..." He grabbed her by the wrists before she could even try to slide off the bed. "And next time I'll come with a Stormtrooper armour on."
"Don't play with me, love."
She took a deep breath. "You call me that one more time and I'll be a puddle."
Hux let go of her wrists and stood up, smiling triumphantly as he glanced between her legs one more time.
"You already are."
He began walking towards the bathroom while she was considering whether to follow him. After all, it would be a shame to lose a shower with him, but on the other hand...
"I got all dressed up for you just to get my lipstick smudged and take this off after less than an hour?" She crossed her arms. "No way."
He turned his head towards her, then grabbed his datapad from where he left it and gave it to her.
"Then take this. Order whatever you want for dinner... I'll take a shower."
He picked up the vibrator, too, and disappeared in the bathroom, leaving her with a smile. She ordered dinner and then, finally able to breathe normally again, walked up to the wardrobe and took out a box of wipes and a towel to clean herself up - and a part of his bed, too. Freshened up, she almost didn't look like having been rammed into the mattress ten minutes earlier.
Less than another ten minutes later they were both sitting on his bed, beginning to eat dinner - Hux didn't mind eating there again since he was already going to send the sheets to the laundry. Besides, he didn't want some table or any other piece of furniture to keep him away from her. At that point he wasn't sure if she hadn't put any spell of him with how infatuated he was that day.
He was shirtless, just in loose, black pants. Not so long ago, he would have never bared himself like that, but with her? He could do anything, and he knew she wouldn't judge him.
"What?" she asked when she caught him staring at her instead of the food. "You like the dress, huh?" She pulled up the bra to make her breasts look better, and he did notice that.
"Of course I do. I've chosen it personally."
"I'm starting to think you chose it more for yourself than for me."
"The benefits go both ways." He smirked. "Besides, if you want anything at all, you just need to say the word. Do you want another dress?"
"No, no, that's not what I meant, Armitage. I don't want you to think I'm with you for the benefits," she said quickly, then reached for his hand. "I'm with you for you. I hope you know that."
Their eyes met. He believed just the words, but he could also see the sincerity in her eyes.
"I do." He squeezed her hand. "But at the same time, I have no problem in getting gifts for you. Who else am I supposed to give them to?"
Her heart began beating faster. She leaned in to kiss him again, with all the passion she could muster, what made him feel more than elated.
"Did I mention how proud of you I am?" she whispered against his lips. "And I already know how to make you feel even better. But let's eat first."
"You've already made me feel wonderful," he admitted, but she shook her head.
"Tonight we're celebrating your success. You're getting all the perks." She pecked him, then returned to eating. "Tell me all about it."
Hux was more than eager to do so, including telling her everything about his future plans, weapons, and technologies. She listened with sincere interest, and that was really everything he needed. Someone who cared, who listened, and who supported him regardless of any doubts or weak points his plans might have.
After they finished dinner, Y/N told him to lie down comfortably on the bed. She then found her good, old friend - a scented oil - and proceeded to settle herself on his thighs to gave him the best massage she could.
She was good at it, he already knew that, but at that moment her skills didn't matter. It was just her touch, firm and gentle at the same time, making his whole body burn with pleasure. Her hands were sliding along his skin with passion and for that moment of bliss, he truly felt like the king of the entire galaxy. He was about to comment how she began grinding her body - still with no underwear on - against him, when she suddenly stopped doing anything. Before he could ask what was happening, she laid her body against his warm, bare back and hugged him.
It was pleasurable, but nothing could have prepared him for what came next. Y/N stayed like this for a moment before whispering:
"Armitage... I love you."
He froze. He was glad she could not see his face, for his expression was nothing but pure shock. Indescribable were the emotions flowing through him: the surprise, the happiness, but also sadness... It was the first time someone has ever said that to him, and he never knew how incredible it could feel. Something got stuck in his throat as he tried to comprehend that someone cared about him this much. Someone he cared deeply for, too, but didn't have enough courage to express it openly.
So this is what love is.
"I've never heard that... In my life," he replied eventually, having no idea what to reply.
"I... You know I've been falling for you for a while. But now... Now I'm sure of it. That's why I'm telling you. And if I ever lost you..."
"Don't say that, Y/N." He raised slightly, causing her to move. She climbed off of him as he pulled her into his arms.
"You are not going to lose me. I am not leaving you, did I say that?" He cupped her face and noticed she was on the verge of tears; it pulled at his heartstrings, and that was another new sensation for him.
"I'm just..." She swallowed. "After success often comes a failure. Today, when I saw you leading all of us, I realised how much is at stake... I realised I'm afraid all of this is too good to be true. And I love you. With all I have. I don't want to lose any of it."
"You won't lose it, I promise. Y/N," he turned her to look at him, to make sure she understood every word, "I know I don't say much about things like this, but..."
He froze, his eyes fixed on her. He was such a coward; he indirectly murdered thousands, if not more beings that day, but he was unable to confess his true feelings to the only person he cared about. But at that moment, he promised himself he would tell her.
Soon. In best circumstances, like she deserved. It was high time she got some confirmation of his their relationship... But not at that moment, because he himself was too paralysed.
"You're the most important person to me," he admitted eventually. "Or probably the only important person I have in my life. I do not care about anyone else. And you have my word," he grabbed her hand, then brought it to his lips to kiss it, "we'll be safe. You and I."
"Thank you," she whispered, holding back tears. He wiped them with his thumbs before going in for a kiss; a sincere kiss full of love that he did not confess to her. Y/N did feel a little sting of disappointment after not hearing him say it back, but at the same time, she knew it was something new for him.
"Come," he kissed her on the forehead, "I'll throw the sheets to the laundry, take new ones, and we can both go to sleep."
"But what about the celebration? And your massage? And..."
"We both had enough emotions for today," he cut her off, just before giving her one more kiss to make sure she felt better.
While both of them were preparing to sleep, the General's sheets landed in the room where two Stormtroopers sorted the laundry. They were both without their helmets, groaning at the sight of new work.
"Not again," the first one, a blonde guy, shook his head.
"What is it?" the other, a redhead, asked him.
"Hux's sheets," the blonde replied.
"How do you know they're his?"
"Because they're large. And he sends them here too often, clean freak," he explained, then snorted. "And they're stained again."
The red-headed Stromtrooper approached to investigate, curious. He looked at the sheets and his eyes widened.
"Isn't this... Cum?" he asked in shocked, but the other seemed unbothered.
"You're new here, but this is not for the first time. He must be getting it recently. It's never happened before."
"But with whom?" The other wondered. "Because I don't think he would stain it this much if he were alone... Prostitutes maybe?"
"Maybe, although I doubt he would allow one on the Starkiller..."
"Then maybe it's one of the female soldiers! We gotta find out who that is. Maybe Phasma?!"
"No, that would be..." Their eyes met. " You know what, we have to find out."
Y/N spent the night in her lover's arms. Without a direct confession from him, but still happy and secure, she woke up with a disappointment when she realised he wasn't there. To her relief, she found him in front of the bed, buttoning his shirt up.
She beamed, stretching like a cat when he noticed her, and a little smile crawled upon his face, too.
"Well, good morning. How did you sleep?"
"I always sleep well with you. And on this bed, for that matter," she replied with no hesitation, rubbing her eyes. "Where are you going?"
"I have to start earlier today. Ren is already fuming," he said, making sure his belt was adjusted well. "He is looking for some scavenger girl now. Apparently the droid showed the map to her."
Y/N groaned, sitting up. "So what? Why can't Kylo just find her and take it out of her mind like he always does? We have allies throughout the galaxy, she can't hide for long."
Hux sighed, looking just as resigned. "You tell me."
"Wait, I'll go with you." Y/N jumped off of the bed, then walked up to him to fix the hair he didn't have the time to style yet. She loved it when if was this messy, with no gel or anything else in it yet.
"You can stay here today if you want to," he blurted out, but it was an instinct. He couldn't stop thinking about her confession, knowing that right now, he was really ready to do anything for her... Even at the expense of his power.
"No, no. I bet Kylo will want to see me for some reason, too. I have duties."
"I would like to remind you I am the one who gives you duties," he said matter-of-factly. "Well... But I do have an idea how to make that day a bit more exciting for both of us."
She knew his ideas already, that's why her eyes lit up. "What are you suggesting?"
He smiled mischievously, then walked towards her wardrobe. He took out the same device from the night before, one he cleaned himself, then held it out on his palm in front of her.
"Why don't you take this again... And I'll control it. Let's see how long you'll last."
She snorted. "You think I can't last all day without any big reaction to it?"
He smirked, almost laughing. "Judging by your reactions from yesterday, yes, that's what I think."
Damn it. He had a point, but she didn't want to give up that easily. She could do it...
"I bet I can."
"Then we bet," he said firmly, offering her his free hand. "If you win, I will get you a gift. If I win, you will get a punishment. A real one, I promise you that."
"Deal, Hux," she replied, shaking his hand as he raised his eyebrows.
"Hux? Now that's not the way to talk to your superior." He pulled her by the hand to make their faces be even closer to each other. "Oh, and no touching yourself."
"You wouldn't even know if I did."
"Is that so?" He leaned in to whisper into her ear. "I have eyes everywhere on this base. Do not try it or I will take it as a walk-over win."
Hairs stood on her entire body when she heard that. Kriff, he was the only man with the ability to make her aroused with mere words.
He passed her the vibrator, then came back to armchair where his gloves were and began putting them on.
She watched his hands closely. They were large and as clean as they could be, and many of his veins were showing as he adjusted the first glove he put on. He took the leather between his fingers and pulled slightly, and that movement made her swallow. Then he put on the second glove ever so swiftly, leaving just a bit of a gap between the leather and his uniform for his wrist.
She had never focused on someone's hands this much, but they were captivating. It was like almost every time she looked at him she found something new to be attracted to. Now, more than ever, she longed for his hands on her. Anywhere he wanted.
She decided to take a risk, even if they were scrapped for time.
"Can you... Use your hands?"
He looked up at her with confusion. "What do you mean?"
"On me." She swallowed hard, feeling pierced by his gaze. "Anywhere."
He seemed both surprised and intrigued because of her boldness, but he didn't mind it one bit.
"Now?"
She shrugged, swallowing hard again.
"Not my fault you put these gloves on... Like this."
A smirk appeared on his face, and he seemed eager to make her request come true, but he stopped himself at the last minute. Instead, he walked up to her a little too close, then put his hand under her chin.
"Let's say... If you win our little bet, I'll make sure to use my hands everywhere."
She felt shivers down her spine. There was truly lust in his eyes, the kind of she had never seen before in him. It seemed like something switched in him, making him desire her even more.
"And if I lose?" she asked in a high-pitched voice.
"I don't know. Maybe you'll have to beg for it."
This was enough to keep her heart racing. She didn't even ask about anything else; but at that point, she only knew she craved him even more.
"Now," he indicated the vibrator, "should we put this in place?"
She found her opportunity to force him to at least touch her in some way. She shoved the vibrator back into his hand and then plopped down onto the bed before spreading her legs. She lifted the material of the black nightgown, showing him nothing but her naked body underneath.
"Please do."
He couldn't deny her, and she knew that. He cleared his throat as if it didn't have any effect on him, but when he bent to put the vibrator next to her clit, a visible shiver went through him.
He did have little time, but could not waste the opportunity. He turned on the vibrator, catching her by surprise as she gasped.
"Oh, kriff!"
"I'll let that slide... Because it's not truly in yet." He smirked, clearly satisfied with her reaction. "I can't put it in with no preparation, can I?"
"If you keep it there..." She panted as he kept the vibrator on her clit, making her tremble. "I might come as we speak..."
"Well, why not?" He smiled smugly, enjoying the view a bit more than he should. He could get addicted to starting his mornings this way.
"Armitage..." She was breathing heavily, her nails digging into the sheets. "Oh, this feels so..."
Her toes curled, and he quickly noticed she was already wet. With that, he swiftly pushed the vibrator inside her, earning another moan.
"Oh... Oh, fuck..."
"It's on the lowest setting," he smirked as she adjusted the device between her legs, still panting. He picked up his datapad and turned off the vibrator. "If that's how you react to the lowest level, I don't see a victory for you..."
"I wasn't prepared," she argued. "But now I am."
She stood up and walked slowly - so as not to lose the vibrator - towards her wardrobe to find fresh underwear. Soon, she was in her uniform and ready to leave as well.
"No touching."
"Don't worry about tha... Fuck!" she screamed suddenly when he grabbed the datapad again, turning the vibrator back on.
"And no swearing on duty." He grabbed her by the collar playfully, making her open her mouth in disbelief.
"You're unbelievable."
"And you're insufferable," he replied as if it were obvious. "We're tied."
When she was sitting down by a console that day, she knew he would be on his watch all the time. She also realised she could anticipate his little device coming to life at any given moment, and she kept on reminding herself to stay alert.
For the first hour, absolutely nothing happened. Hux was nowhere to be seen and for a moment, she was so focused on her work she almost forgot about the device inside her.
And then she leaned towards the soldier on her right, Fando, just to hear his question better.
"Are you checking the last supply delivery?" he asked her and she nodded.
"Yes, I am... Oh...!" She gasped and her whole body tensed up as she felt the vibrator come to life. And it felt so good, but she wasn't allowed to react...
Fando raised an eyebrow at her sudden reaction.
"Are you alright?"
"Yes, yes, I'm sorry." She cleared her throat, keeping her legs together as the device kept vibrating. "I am checking the delivery, yeah..." She breathed heavily, making Fando even more confused.
"Could you check if they delivered the new blasters? General Hux sent in a request."
That little bastard... Y/N thought to herself, realising it was Hux himself who arranged this entire situation. She couldn't see him anywhere near, but she knew he was watching one way or another... So she had to compose herself.
"Yes, just give me a moment..." She turned back to her screen, clearing her throat.
She began looking for the "blasters" position in the delivery logs, slowly getting used to the burning in her abdomen...
And then, suddenly, the intensity began growing. She didn't control it as she bent slightly, feeling more and more wetness in between her legs.
"You're... You're sure you're okay?" Fando asked again, seeing her bite her lip in order not to react. "Maybe I should call a medic?"
"I'm fine, I'm fine." She coughed, her eyes still focused on the screen. "Just some training soreness."
She was doing all in her might not to buckle her hips as she searched for the logs. Finally, she found them, and turned to Fando with her cheeks flushed...
And suddenly, the vibrator stopped, leaving her with both relief and disappointment at the same time. She took a deep breath, adrenaline still pulsing in her veins.
"Yes, the blasters were delivered," she said to Fando, "I will send the information to the General."
"Thank you." Fando nodded before turning back to his work.
Y/N indeed opened the communication channel to send a message to Hux, but it certainly wasn't about the delivery.
Blasters my ass.
Hux couldn't help but chuckle to himself as he read that message on his datapad. He was in a different part of the base, but he could watch all the security cameras from his datapad, and he thoroughly enjoyed the little show she gave him just moments before. She didn't quite break, but he knew it was only a matter of time. He was enjoying this game more than he could say.
Is that an official message, Lieutenant Y/L/N? No swearing on duty.
Y/N couldn't help but roll her eyes at the message, taking a deep breath. He was unbelievable, but hell, wasn't that a part of why she fell for him? He never let her stay bored...
Officially, new blasters have been delivered, sir. Unofficially, you are unbelievable, bastard.
Hux had to stop himself from smiling among his soldiers as he read that message. The things this girl made him feel were among emotions he never thought he was capable of experiencing. Never had he ever been this happy.
I am expecting the best performance from you today, Lieutenant.
The double meaning was very clear in this message. She sighed then got back to her work, knowing that it was just the beginning.
For more than an hour, everything was calm... Until Y/N met Malia and they were walking together for a dinner break. They barely sat down at the table when the vibrator came to life again. It was so sudden Y/N let out a gasp, one that caught Malia off guard.
"What?" Malia glanced behind herself. "What did you see?"
"Nothing." Y/N gulped. "Just felt some soreness from the training..." Her voice faltered slightly as the intensity of the vibrations increased. This time, to her already soaked clit, it was much more pleasurable than before... And she was afraid the vibrator will soon slide out, considering how wet she was.
Just for a second, she rocked her hips to move along with the vibrator, pretending to adjust her sitting position... And Maker, it felt so good, but she didn't dare put her hand anywhere near between her legs. She knew Armitage was watching, and she wasn't about to let him just win their little bet.
"You were training again?"
"Yeah," Y/N said breathily, pulling the tray with her dinner in front of herself as the vibrator didn't stop. "Gotta stay sharp, huh?"
She was suppressing any kind of reaction she could, but she couldn't help the blood that was rushing to her cheeks. She wasn't, however, quite sure whether she would be able to eat without choking on anything.
Suddenly, the vibrations stopped completely, and she smiled to herself. She wondered if Hux did it because he could see she wasn't reacting in any way, and so she began eating freely, chatting with Malia as she went. Little did she know it was just calm before the storm...
The real torture began just minutes later. The vibrator came back to life on the highest setting for a few seconds, stopped for a few more, and then again, and the cycle kept on repeating itself, driving her insane.
Her body was begging for a release as waves of pleasures kept on coming and disappearing just as quickly. Armitage knew exactly what he was doing, and his knowledge of her needs was shocking yet exciting at the same time. Every time she thought she would get that final moment of bliss, he stopped, almost as if he could sense her emotions through the cameras.
She was cursing him in his mind and, at the same time, fantasizing about going back to his quarters and letting him watch her again as she writhed and whimpered on the bed. The thought itself turned her on greatly, but was she going to get what she wanted if she lost the bet...? She knew he would do exactly the opposite of that, to drive her crazy.
Hence, no matter how pleasurable it was, no matter how much her clit was pulsing and aching, she focused on talking to Malia, not allowing to give him any satisfaction.
The tortures came back a few more times that day, but despite everything, Y/N didn't break except for a few gasps and sudden bends of her body. By the end of the day, her clit was completely soaked and swollen, her body overwhelmed with need for a release... But the bet was hers.
It was already late when she was beginning to gather her things from her console, preparing it for the soldier that was about to come for the next shift... When she felt someone's presence right behind her.
"My office. Immediately."
Hux's voice was harsh and cold, making a few of the nearby soldiers glance at Y/N with worry. They all scattered, pretending to be busy with just about anything before his visible rage could reach them.
Y/N, on the other hand, had to stop herself from smiling. She wondered whether his anger was just for show or because he was genuinely mad he didn't manage to win.
"Yes, General," she replied, staying emotionless, and then followed him into his office.
The moment the door closed behind them, Armitage made sure to lock it before walking to his desk. His gaze was still cold as the ice outside when he looked into her eyes, but she didn't bat an eye.
"What?" She crossed her arms, smirking at him. "Mad you didn't win, General?"
He took a deep breath. "Onto the desk."
His tone was still harsh, catching her off guard, but at the same time... She enjoyed it when he had the upper hand.
"Oh?" She raised an eyebrow. "Well, in that case... Of course, sir."
She sat on his desk, waiting for what's to come as anticipation rose inside her.
"On all fours."
Another order took her by surprise, but she obeyed, feeling more and more excited by the minute. He meant business as she saw true authority in his eyes, one she knew best from the time they weren't close... He approached her from behind, then began slowly unbuckling her belt.
"You're saying I lost? I do have your reactions recorded... And there certainly are some..."
"It's not like I could not react at all... When you turned it on unexpectedly."
"Oh, but wasn't that part of the deal?" He smirked as he slowly began pulling her pants down.
She sighed. "I kept composure."
"But you did rock your hips a few times. I've seen it."
She just groaned in response. She didn't expect him to notice that... But he must have been watching her much more closely than she thought.
"I still think I win," she said eventually.
"And I think I win."
She let out a sigh. "And what now? A tie? Because there is no one who could judge..."
"Now, Lieutenant..." He quickly pulled down her panties, then easily pulled the vibrator out of her right with a sigh. "We'll take care of your little problem here... Tsk, staining the uniform on duty..."
"You snake..."
He smirked again. "I believe my title is the General."
He took off his gloves, then ran his fingers along her swollen clit, earning a gasp out of her. At that point, she was so sensitive any type of touch was lethal, and he knew that all too well.
"Sensitive, are we?" he asked, clearly enjoying the entire ordeal. The view itself made him feel hotter; he never had the chance to take such a thorough look... The lust was slowly beginning to devour him.
"Guess whose fault is this..."
"I'll tell you the truth, Y/N," Hux began, speaking slightly quieter than before as he walked back to face her. "All day I couldn't stop thinking... About what you said in the morning."
"Hm?"
"About you wanting me..." his tone became hushed "...to use my hands on you."
A shiver went down her spine as he said that, making her feel even more excited than before.
She swallowed hard. "And...?"
"And fuck the bet," he said firmly, stunning her as he leaned in to whisper into her ear. "I am going to use my hands on you right here and right now."
Before she could take in what he actually meant, he was behind her again, and his two fingers were sliding in with no warning. It was almost too easy...
He gave her no time to breath before beginning to pump fingers in and out with as much force as he could muster. She began panting slightly, grabbing the edges of the polished desk, but Hux was nowhere near done. He used his other hand to rub her clit, quickly making her lose her balance.
"Oh, fuck...!" she hissed and he didn't even scold her, too focused on his handiwork. He found himself getting aroused just by the view, just by her little pants and moans, and that day, he was impatient.
With no warning, he grabbed her hips firmly and then made her stand on the floor as she kept her hands on the desk. She didn't even ask what he was doing - she only smiled as she heard him unbuckle his belt right behind her.
He slid it easily, then began moving with more power than he ever had. He was pounding into her, not restraining himself at all as she held onto the desk for dear life. It was like a fury, like he became another person filled with some animalistic kind of desire, and she gasped in a bit of pain when his fingers dug into her hips with so much strength she was sure he would leave marks on her. But she did not complain; after this long day of waiting, she was glad he did not suppress himself one bit.
They reached their bliss together, grunting and moaning as she got the release she had wished for... And somehow felt he needed it just as much.
He pulled out and Y/N turned to face him, panting but smiling as his cum began slowly dripping down her body. There was a clear expression of relief on his face, but she could see he did not lose his harsh demeanour from before.
"Why do I feel like you... Fucked out... Just a bit of your anger?" she asked between heavy breaths, studying his face curiously.
"It's Ren," he hissed in response, breathing heavily, his eyes still burning with rage.
"Just as I figured." She chuckled, then gave him a quick kiss on the lips. "But if that's how it ends... Then I might ask him to make you mad more often."
"You liked it?" he asked as he pulled his pants back on with a hint of genuine curiosity in his voice.
Y/N raised an eyebrow. "Yeah... Why?"
He leaned in, lowering his voice as he spoke into her ear. "Because next time... I want to try it even rougher with you... If you're up for it."

there had been no word since poe had left for jakku. you hadn’t wanted him to go in the first place, but as the best pilot in the resistance, he felt it was his duty to handle this mission for general organa. which left you back at the resistance base, just waiting. waiting for a sign, a signal, a distress call (though you had your fingers crossed it wouldn’t be that), anything. it became routine for you to try and ask one of his fellow pilots if they’d heard anything yet, but before you could even ask, they would simply shake their heads no, and you’d find yourself once again in the dark on the situation. it was frustrating, and exhausting. and you understood everyone was anxious, everyone was waiting for news, but for you … it was different.
it was no secret that there had been something between you two before he left. everyone could see it, in the way he looked at you, the way your acted around one another, it was clear as day that some unspoken existed there. and truth be told, you were going to tell him how you felt. you’d finally worked up the courage, but by the time you’d made it to the tarmac, he was gone. now you were nothing but a nervous wreck, worrying about his safety every night when you went to bed, and every morning when you woke up.
one morning, you felt someone shake you awake, startling you. you jerked your head up, looking around while blinking the sleep from your eyes.
“you need to come quickly!” a nurse from the medbay said. “it’s poe!”
you snapped awake and hurriedly got dressed. you didn’t quite know what to expect, since she’d left before you could ask any questions. your mind was racing as you pulled on your shoes and your jacket. was he hurt? was he alive? was he even back home? millions more thoughts ran through your mind as you made it out onto the tarmac. you were going to use it to cut across to the medbay, but when you heard a whistle, you froze. you then turned, and the relief you felt was indescribable. poe was jogging towards you, looking a little worn, but in good spirits. you felt yourself smile, and you ran to him. he stopped and held his arms open for you, and you practically launched yourself into his hold, wrapping your arms around his neck as you let out a laugh.
“poe! i was so worried about you!” you whispered, burying your face in his neck.
“i know, i had a feeling you were. i’m sorry … i couldn’t reach out sooner, it was way too risky. but i’m here now,” he whispered back, and you nodded. it was like time stood still, and you knew, then and there, you had to finally say something. you couldn’t let another moment slip by without him knowing the truth. “poe?” you murmured, pulling back to look at him.
“yeah? everything okay?” he asked when he saw the look in your eyes.
“mhm. i just … i need to … you scared me half to death, you know. i was worried sick, think that i’d never get to see you again, and that i’d never get to tell you that i love you. because i do. i love you more than anything. i don’t know how long it’s been, i just know that i don’t ever want to experience this again,” you said, rambling on and on.
poe was quiet, but then his face broke into a wide grin. you felt his hands on your hips, and he lifted you up, spinning you around a bit before setting you back down.
“wish you’d said something sooner,” he said with a grin. “because i’m crazy about you. i wanted to say something before i left, but there was no time. but … this is the best thing i could have come home to.”
you felt your face heat up, but then you smiled, and together, you embraced once more.
“don’t leave without a goodbye next time, yeah?” you asked.
“never again, i promise.”

“Think Imps have changed much in five years?” You asked as you, the child and the Mandalorian made your way into town.
“No,” he said, a finality in his voice. “Ran into some not long before I found you again. Same as always.”
“Well that’ll make things easier,” you sighed. “I’ve acted like an Imp before, I can do it again.”
Your arm brushed his and you quickly crossed it over you, trying to ignore the spark that ran over you where you’d touched him.
It had been like this since you’d woken up, naked and alone, in the Mandalorian’s bed.
“Din?” You’d whispered into the darkness, wrapping yourself from the blankets you’d been tucked in as you got out of bed. There was no response. You said his name again, a bit louder. No luck. “I’m turning on a light,” you said, knowing there was no way he was in the room. It was small, you’d have bumped into him getting out of the bed if he were. You closed your eyes all the same, giving him a moment to protest. It was silent. You opened your eyes slowly anyway, squinting against the brightness and ready to snap them shut again just in case he was there, unmasked, and you somehow had missed him. But the room was empty.
His armor and flight suit were gone, as were the clothes he’d helped you remove. Sitting beside the bed was a pair of pants and a shirt, like the ones you’d woken up in before, folded and waiting for you. You put them on, cuffing the pants so you wouldn’t trip, and you put the blankets you’d used to cover yourself back where they belonged on the bed before you went in search of the Mandalorian.
You found him in the cockpit, the tell-tale sound of engines a hint for where to go. The kid was on his lap, happily eating some of the meat from the planet you’d just left.
“Hey,” you said, even though you knew he’d have heard you come in.
“Wanted to get an early start,” he said, not looking at you.
“Sure,” you nodded.
“I’ll fix the heaters in a bit,” he said.
“If you need help, let me know,” you leaned against the wall of the cockpit, arms crossed. That got him to turn around.
“You don’t know how to fix things,” you could almost hear him frowning. You shrugged.
“I learned.” His silence was skeptical. “I had farm equipment to maintain. I’ve never worked on a starship but I can’t imagine the principles are all that different. You don’t want me running the show but I can help.”
“Good to know.”
You stood there awkwardly for a moment, trying to not think about your naked body against his while wishing you’d been with it enough to properly appreciate how much of his skin you’d gotten to touch instead of being too freezing and exhausted to think straight.
“Are these clothes yours?” You asked after too much silence for you to really tolerate. He nodded once. “I’ve just never seen you wear them.”
“I don’t around other people,” he said.
“Right.”
You chewed the inside of your cheek. You wished you’d just kissed him. You doubted you’d ever have the chance again, so close without a helmet in the way, you should have just kissed him. At least asked to kiss him. You couldn’t let the silence hang there anymore and you just left, going back into the hold and putting some distance between you and the Mandalorian.
He did ask for help when working on the heaters. Your size came as a plus, his shoulders too broad to properly reach the wires he needed.
“Be careful,” he sounded stressed. “If you…”
“It’s fine, Mando,” you said, torso inside the ship as you tested the wires. You found the issue, unplugging it from the panel and carefully slipping back into the hold. “Here’s your problem, it’s fried.”
He took it from you, holding it up.
“I don’t have any more of this,” he sighed. “Have to look for some on Jakku. At least the junk trade there is solid, finding pre-Empire compatible parts is getting harder and harder.”
“There’s more like that in there,” you nodded to the wire, your arm propped up on your raised knee. “Anything going to be a fire hazard if it goes? I’ve made it this far in life, I’d rather not be taken out by equipment failure.”
He sighed.
“Can you reach it?”
“I’ll need to climb all the way into the panel,” you shrugged. “But I think so. I won’t really know what I’m looking for, though, I’ll need you to describe it.”
“It’s probably the whole heating system,” he said. “I’ve got auxiliary to keep us from freezing to death if we need to detach it all but it won’t be a fun trip.”
“Better than dying in a fireball,” you said, turning and crawling into the panel, carefully working your way past wires without knocking them loose.
“Don’t like you in there, Doll,” he said as you reached the part of the panel you needed. There was an access point here, so you were at least able to move a little easier. You rolled your eyes, moving along the heater panel, checking all the wires.
“There’s a lot of wear and tear in here, Mando,” you frowned. “These wires look awfully close to the one I pulled. I think we might need to shut it off…”
“That’s going to make for a cold flight,” he sighed. “Can you reroute power to the auxiliary while you’re in there? Hopefully boost it?”
“Sure,” you replied, puzzling out the panels for a minute. “As soon as I figure out which one that is.”
“Don’t like this…” he muttered again. You ignored him, finding what you thought was the power cable and pulling it. You heard something power down but weren’t quite sure what.
“Didn’t just lose anything crucial did we?” You called.
“No, that was the heat,” he sighed. You nodded.
“Well at least it wasn’t life support,” you muttered, tracing your fingers along the panel until you found what you were pretty sure was the auxiliary system and attached it. “I think I have it, give it a go.”
It was quiet for a moment and you shifted your weight from foot to foot, the crouch you were stuck in getting uncomfortable.
“That was it,” he said. “Now get out of there before you electrocute yourself.”
“Such little faith,” you muttered as you made your way back into the hold. He ignored your comment as you used him for balance to get out of the innards of his ship. You sighed, crossing your arms. Even though the heaters had only just switched over, you already felt colder. But you were pretty sure it was just your mind getting ahead of your body.
“We should… I don’t know, swaddle him or something,” you nodded to the baby who was flicking through artwork on your data pad. “We need to keep him warm.”
“We can hole up in the bunk,” Din sighed. “Keep the heat concentrated in the smallest space…”
So that’s what you did. It was the first time there’d been any kind of physical intimacy between the two of you that one of you couldn’t just run away from, though you supposed it was different. It wasn’t like he’d had his fingers inside you or guided your hips over his until both of you came. He’d just held you to warm you up. While naked. Without the helmet.
You bundled up the best you could, Din sitting on one end of the bunk and you on the other, the baby clambering over both of your legs as they sat beside each other, as though you were living obstacle courses there for his amusement.
“Do you remember ever being that care free?” You asked, watching as the kid slipped a little on the Mandalorian’s beskar.
“A bit,” he said, offering the child a steadying hand. “It feels very far away, though. Another lifetime. You?”
“Yes and no,” you shrugged eventually. “I remember running and playing with my friends but those memories are so closely tied to bigger things. Like going to Alderaan as a girl. I got to see my friend and run in the woods and climb and do what children do but on the way there or home, I almost always had to deliver a message or retrieve one. Sometimes both. The joy was never had for joy’s sake.”
The kid moved on to trying to climb up the Mandalorian’s chest plate, grunting at the effort. Din offered him a hand but he ignored it. So he put it below the child, where he couldn’t see it, giving him a foothold he didn’t know was help. You smiled.
“I’d like that,” he said, looking up to you. “Joy for joy’s sake.”
You smiled, leaning your head back against the wall of the bunk.
“Me too.”
You’d fallen asleep with the child snuggly between you, Din leaving his armor on the floor - though the flight suit and helmet and your clothes stayed on. But in your sleep, you could have sworn you felt his lips on your forehead.
When you made it to Jakku, you were so cold you damn near sank into the sand, just happy to feel something warm. But now that you were there, you had a job to do.
You’d made a list of things you’d need to get into where you thought you needed to be - a bar that was popular with the Imperial set. The General, according to Din’s friend, was shifty. If he was there, he would hardly show up nightly and would only go places he felt secure. That narrowed the hunting grounds a bit.
Din had come to the opposite side of the planet from the outpost the Imperials reportedly collected at to gather supplies - both for you and the ship. You found some clothes that would help you blend in, a few days worth, and cartridges that would fit your blaster.
“I’ll stick to outside the outpost, about 30 clicks or so,” the Mandalorian said as you walked down the dusty street. “Close enough to get you out fast, far enough that they shouldn’t know I’m there.”
“So how am I getting to the outpost,” you frowned. You felt the kid’s eyes on you so you looked down to him, in his bag on Mando’s hip. Longing. You held out a finger and he took it, the kid immediately feeling happier. The Mandalorian looked your way and you could almost sense his expression, suddenly realizing what he was expecting. “No.”
“It’s just you,” he replied. “I thought you said you were fine when it was just you.”
“Don’t expect me to be racing out of there on a speeder,” you replied. “I won’t be making any dramatic escapes with it.”
“You can sell it when you get to town if you really want,” he said soothingly. You sighed.
“I can’t tell if you’re doing this to torture me or if this really is the best plan.”
“It’s the best plan,” he replied. “The torture is a perk. Just need to find one for a decent price.”
You sighed, glaring up at him.
“I have a better idea.”
The three of you made your way to the bar in town. You sent the Mandalorian in a few minutes before you, trying to make it look like you didn’t know each other. You spotted him quickly, his armor glistening from the corner while the kid happily drank from a small cup as he stood on the table.
You sat at the bar, ordering a weak cocktail and sipping it slowly, biding your time. If this planet had a fair few Imps, one would wander in eventually. You were right, not needing to wait long.
A man came into the bar, not much older than you but he had the military look you’d come to know well. Short hair, utilitarian clothes, a chip on his shoulder that you could have seen from space. He took the bar stool a few seats down from you and tried to get the attention of the bar tender, who was busy with other things. You looked him over as he ground his teeth, getting frustrated.
“Remember when we used to be treated well in places like this?” You smiled, tilting your body toward him. He looked you up and down, his eyes lingering on your chest.
“Those were the days,” he said, not sounding as frustrated as he looked. “What happened?”
You shrugged.
“Little fear went a long way.”
“Did it ever,” he changed seats, moving closer to you, watching your fingers as they trailed up your drink glass.
“So I was right,” you tilted your head a little, smiling flirtatiously. “You served?”
“Four years,” he said. “Sounds like you did, too, but you don’t look it.”
“Officers never do, do we?” You smirked.
“Where were you stationed?” He asked. He was facing you fully now, his whole body aligned with yours. You took a sip of your drink.
“Naboo,” you smiled. “You?”
“I was Naval,” he replied. “On the Executor.”
“Lord Vader’s ship?” Your eyebrows raised. You were impressed, not even having to fake it.
“Were you on Naboo for Cinder?” He asked. “Heard that was a bloodbath.”
“It was rough,” you nodded. “Barely made it out… The Executor? I don’t think I’ve met anyone who served on that vessel. You seem awfully young…”
“Well,” he smirked. “When you’re good at what you do, you rise through the ranks fast.”
You leaned in closer to him.
“Prove it,” you smiled.
“Prove it?” He swallowed, hard. You nodded. “How?”
You sat back, arching your back just so, his eyes almost snapping to your breasts.
“I’ll show you mine if you show me yours,” you quirked a brow at him. His eyes went back to yours. “Never seen an Executor service token before.”
He all but dove his hand into his pocket, pulling out a large, silver coin and slapping it on the bar. You picked it up, turning it over in your fingers, the image of a Star Destroyer on one side and the seal of the Empire on the other. The name of the ship was stamped into the outside edge. You smiled. You couldn’t have asked for a better way to sell your story.
“Impressive,” you smiled, downing the rest of your cocktail before tucking the token in your pocket and standing up.
“Hey wait,” he said, standing up, too.
“Well, aren’t you coming?” You asked over your shoulder as you headed for the door. He trailed behind you, his hand going to your lower back and sliding lower as you made your way outside.
“Do you have a place near here?” He asked as you lead him down the nearest alley.
“No,” you stopped and faced him, smiling. He looked confused. “I just needed your service token.”
“Wait,” he sounded confused, too. “I didn’t give it to you, not like that…”
“That’s true,” you nodded. “But I’m taking it. You can let me or you can try to take it back, but I wouldn’t recommend it.”
He was slow enough that you could see him figuring it out, the anger slowly building in him before he lunged for you. You sidestepped him, grabbing his hand and folding it back, making him yelp in pain.
“I was so hoping you’d choose this option,” you smirked, hooking your leg around his ankle and ripping it out from below him, watching as he crumpled to the ground.
“You said you served on Naboo!” His eyes searched yours.
“Never said for which side, you Imperial piece of shit,” you twisted his wrist until it snapped and you let it go. He pulled it into himself, staring at it in disbelief. You crouched down to his level, grabbing him by the hair and making him look at you.
“Now did you really serve on the Executor?” You asked, searching his eyes. “Or did you steal or buy this off someone and you just wanted to talk a big game?”
He looked terrified, like he wasn’t sure what the right answer was.
“I served,” his voice shook. “But I was just an enlisted! I was on janitorial, I never even fired my weapon outside of training, I swear!”
You caught a glimpse of beskar coming down the alley.
“What do you think, Mando?” You said, not looking up at him and keeping your eyes on the man in front of you. “Says he never fired his weapon. Think that excuses him?”
“He’s seen your face,” the Mandalorian replied, voice deathly calm. “He touched you. Should kill him.”
“Please!” He cried, cradling his wrist to his chest. “I swear, I never hurt anyone, I promise!”
You looked up at the Mandalorian, his arms crossed over his metal covered chest. He met your gaze, you could feel the intensity of his eyes behind the helmet. You looked back to the man on his knees in front of you.
“You ever going to tell anyone you saw me?” You asked him.
“No, never, not a word!” He was almost sobbing.
“You ever going to brag about being an Imp again?”
“No!”
“And why not?” You asked, still holding his hair. “Is propping up a fascist dictatorship that murdered billions something to be proud of?”
“No, please!”
You released him and he slumped to the ground. You stuck your hands in his pockets, finding a speeder key.
“Breathe a word of this and I’ll bleed you dry,” you said, stepping over him. “I’m keeping the coin and I’m taking the bike. Consider it reparations.”
It didn’t take long to find his speeder bike in front of the bar and you handed the keys to the Mandalorian.
“Now we don’t need to buy one,” you said. He climbed on the bike, setting the kid in front of him and leaning far enough forward for you to climb on the back. You wrapped your arms around his waist and put your head in the middle of his back.
“Should have killed him,” he said.
“He’s young,” you sighed. “Got sucked up in it. Who knows, maybe now he’ll do something good.”
Mando moved the ship to outside the outpost that night, setting it down near some rocks that made for decent enough cover. You climbed to the top of them, using binocs to scout a bit. There wasn’t much to see, Jakku as barren as Tatooine, the grit of sand slipping between your fingers. You hauled blankets outside and set them on the rock, Mando watching you like you were crazy the whole time.
“What?” You asked eventually, stretching out on one.
“It’s rock,” he said. “The ship is more comfortable.”
You shrugged.
“I like being outside,” you jerked your chink up toward the stars. “I can take some uncomfortable sleep.”
He sighed before stretching out beside you, the kid already asleep in his pod. You hesitated before rolling onto your side and wrapping around him, your head on his chest, arm draped over his stomach. He hesitated for a second before putting his arm around you, his fingers curling around your ribs, lightly brushing the bottom of your breast. You smiled, looking at the stars reflected on his beskar.
“I’m…” he paused, like he was rethinking what he was going to say. “It’s going to be weird, you being gone again.”
“Just for a few days,” you shrugged. “Maybe less, if our Imp shows his face sooner rather that later.”
You were both silent. He pulled you a little snugger against him.
“I’m going to miss you, too,” you said.
***
You may have been a natural at a number of things but flying a speeder was not one of them. Din did his best to not laugh as you took the controls to travel to the outpost, the kid watching with a concerned expression from his pod.
“I can’t believe you’re this worried about driving a speeder,” he shook his head, arms crossed in front of him.
“Some of us aren’t good at everything,” you muttered, your arms looking oddly stiff.
“Doll,” he said, fighting to keep the amusement from his voice. You looked at him, glaring a little. “It’s just 30 clicks and there’s nothing between here and there but sand. It’s going to be OK. Do you think I’d try to talk you into something that wasn’t going to be OK.”
“No,” you replied. “But I hate speeder bikes.”
“You’re fine when you’re on them with me,” he shrugged.
“Yeah, I trust you to drive them,” you snapped. “I’m another story.”
“You jumped us away from Coruscant once,” he replied. “That’s a busy system, you didn’t crash us into anything. You can fly a speeder bike through the desert.”
“Yeah yeah,” you muttered. You were wearing the clothes they’d gotten you the day before, you looking every inch like an Imp officer who’d been stuck on a backwater planet. The service token was in your pocket - your key into the Imperial gathering place - as was a com link and your knife. Your blaster was at your thigh and your bag was strapped to the back of the bike with enough to get you through at least a week of observing and feeding Din information.
“If anything happens…” he started but you cut him off.
“I’ll call.”
“I’m serious,” he said, regretting this plan more and more the closer you got to leaving. “If you get into a bad spot, hide and tell me. I’ll get you out.”
“Din,” you sat up straight, hands on your thighs. “It’s going to be fine. Just a bar full of old Imps, not a snake pit.”
“Don’t try to take him in,” he ignored you. “Just locate him.”
“I know what I’m doing.”
He looked at you for a moment. You were watching him, patiently waiting for him to adjust to the lack of control he knew he was about to have. You hadn’t been this far away from him since he’d found you again. He knew it would have to happen eventually. That, before too long, you’d be much further for much longer. It didn’t make him feel any better.
“Let me know when you get there,” he said. “And give me location information for wherever you find a room. I want to be able to get to you quickly.”
“OK,” you smiled, almost condescendingly.
“Be safe, Doll.”
You just gave him a nod before leaning over the bike, starting it and taking a deep breath before shooting off. Din watched you go, eyes still on the horizon long after he couldn’t see you anymore.
“C’mon kid,” he sighed, patting his little head. “We’ve got repairs to make.”
***
You made it to the outpost without incident and you tried your damndest to not look shaky getting off the stupid bike.
It wasn’t a huge place and it didn’t take you long to get the lay of the land. You parked your bike down the street from a bar that you suspected was the right one, watching people come and go for a bit. It looked like there was an inn on the upper floors, a stroke of luck you weren’t anticipating. You took a moment to center yourself, reminding yourself why you were there.
It had been a while since you’d done something of this magnitude. You’d been surrounded by Imps before, sometimes for days, but you’d had more reliable cover. You didn’t have a fake chain code, no believable ID. If anyone questioned your story, the only thing you had to back yourself up - give you any clout - was the service token you’d stolen the night before. Blasting your way out of here would be hard. You just had to lie low enough that you didn’t draw unwanted attention but be noticeable enough that you could confirm the General’s identity. A delicate balance.
You slung your bag over your arm and stalked into the bar, carrying yourself with the confidence of someone who belonged. Everyone in the bar had the feel you’d come to associate with Imperials. Entitled, uniform, the idea that no cost was too high for what they wanted. If they couldn’t buy it, they would take it.
“Can I help you?” The bar tender met you at the end of the bar, looking you over. You tried to place her allegiance as quickly as you could. She seemed a bit different, probably just working here for a job and not because she supported the cause. You’d have to make sure that - if you did have to shoot your way out of here - that she wasn’t collateral damage.
“New in town,” you said gruffly. “Heard this was a good place to find jobs from… like minded folk.”
A few people in the bar looked your way and you squared your jaw, almost daring them to come challenge you. None did.
“Do you have a room?” You asked, turning back to the young woman behind the bar.
She took your credits and gave you a key and you made your way upstairs. You’d gotten lucky, she’d given you a corner room on the top floor, giving you more ways out and fewer ways for people on the inside to eavesdrop or break through. Plus, getting to the roof for a quick escape would be easy, just out the window and up.
You set your bag down and did a quick search of the room, checking for potential recording devices or traps. Not that anyone knew you were coming but you wouldn’t put it past Imperials to tap every room in the place. They’d have no qualms about spying on their fellow Imps. Hell, that just might be a perk.
But there was no sign of anything nefarious. You peeked out the window, high enough off the ground that you doubted anyone on the street below could see you. In another stroke of luck, the windows of the inn weren’t just open holes in the wall but had actual panes of glass, offering some quiet and privacy. Probably why Imps were so drawn to this place, you realized. Hard to do illegal business under the nose of the New Republic when someone could just stand under your window and hear everything you had to say.
You fished out your com link.
“Mando?” You said, keeping your voice low. He responded almost immediately.
“Doll,” he replied. “You make it?”
“No, I’m dead in the desert.”
“That’s not funny.”
“I disagree,” you smiled to yourself before getting down to business. “I’m at the inn, it’s over the bar. Pretty easy to find.”
“Which room?”
“Northeast corner, top floor,” you replied. “Swept it for bugs already. We got lucky, there are real windows here, seems built for privacy.”
“That is lucky,” he said. “What’s the place like?”
“About what you’d expect,” you shrugged, even knowing he couldn’t see you. “Full of them, same as ever.”
He was silent for a moment.
“How’s the kid?”
He didn’t answer for a moment. You were about to check the com when he spoke.
“He misses you.”
You smiled for a second, hoping that maybe he wasn’t just talking about the kid.
“I miss him, too.”
You were silent again, sitting on the bed in your room, feeling oddly alone.
“I’m going to go see what I can learn,” you said eventually.
“Check in when you get back to your room,” Mando said. “If you don’t check in for longer than 12 hours, I’m coming to get you.”
“You’re overbearing, you realize that?”
“Don’t get yourself killed,” he said. “Talk to you soon.”
You switched the com off and headed downstairs. You picked a corner table, small enough that you wouldn’t be a problem but large enough that someone wouldn’t mind joining you if they wanted to talk.
You sat like an Imp, taking up as much space as you could, one leg stretched into the aisle alongside the table, the opposite arm laying across the back of the booth. You ordered a beer and sipped it slowly, watching as people came and went. One man came in who was in the age bracket of Shadrin but he sat close enough to you that you could eavesdrop with ease. No luck.
The lack of puck made this difficult. You had no idea what the guy looked like, just that he was a human man in his 60s.
“Heard you were looking for work,” a younger man from the bar came and stood next to you, beer bottle dangling from his hand.
“What’s it to you?” You asked, keenly aware of the longer reach for your blaster. You watched him carefully, like a predator.
“Haven’t seen you before,” he shrugged, taking the seat in the booth across from you.
“New to the area,” you said, looking out to the bar.
“You serve?” He asked. You looked at him, brows raised. He put his hands up in surrender. “It’s a valid question, we can’t just trust anybody who walks in here.”
You glared at him for a second before reaching into your pocket and pulling out the service token, slapping it on the table. He picked it up, looking it over.
“Executor?” He nodded, looking impressed before setting it back down. “Not many enlisted got that gig.”
“The hell makes you think I was enlisted,” you snapped.
“Seem a bit young to be an officer,” he replied.
“Not when you can do what I can do,” you grabbed the token off the table and stuck it back in your pocket. “If you’re not hiring, move along and stop wasting my time.”
“What kind of work you after?” He asked, looking you up and down.
“The kind that’ll make a difference,” you said.
“What skills do you have?”
“Keep asking me stupid questions and you’ll find out,” you snapped. He smirked.
“Might know someone who’s looking for help,” he replied. “How long are you here for?”
“Until I find the right job,” you replied. “What’s the job?”
“I’ll let him tell you that,” he said. “Assuming you’re still here next time he comes in.”
He took his beer and left your table.
The first man was the closest thing you had to a lead that night. You stayed in your corner, drinking your way through 3 beers over the course of 8 hours - enough to not be suspicious but little enough that you stayed sober. A few others approached you, offering small work that you pretended was below you. One tried to pick you up and you pulled your knife on him, threatening to cut his balls off when he wouldn’t take a no and just kept talking.
You were cautious as you made your way up to your room. You put your bag just on the other side of the door when you got in - not against it, where it wasn’t heavy enough to make a difference anyway but far enough in that it’d trip someone in the dark if they weren’t looking - and called Din.
“Hey,” you said, waiting for a second. He answered quickly.
“Still alive, I hear.”
You laughed a little.
“Nah,” you said. “Just haunting you.”
“You would.”
You rolled your eyes, falling back on your bed.
“Any luck?” He asked.
“Possible lead,” you replied. “Talked to a guy who sounded like he did advance work for someone higher up. Didn’t get a name or a schedule, he sounds cagey which is a good thing for us.”
“Could be our guy,” Din agreed.
You were quiet for a moment.
“Your contact say why they’re so interested in him?” You asked.
“Not in detail,” he replied. “She’s New Republic Special Forces, not sure she could say. Don’t think she was supposed to be asking me for help but…”
“You’re good at what you do,” you said when he was quiet for a moment.
“Sounds like he’s working on something,” he replied. “Otherwise I doubt she’d have called.”
“Got the impression the guy here is looking for talent outside the norm,” you said. “So I tried to fit the bill.”
“You’re good at what you do,” he said. You smiled a bit. “I’m sure you’ve got his attention.”
You were quiet for a moment, looking around your stark room. You’d spent the last few nights beside Din and the last few weeks with him never that far away. You thought you were used to being alone but this felt lonely.
“Get the ship fixed?” You asked, mostly for something to say.
“Close,” he replied. “I can’t fit where you can, I’ve had to take some things apart. She’ll still fly fine, but there are more pieces in my hold than I really like.”
“So particular.”
“Yeah,” he laughed. “I like my ships in one piece, I’m picky that way.”
You sighed after a moment.
“I’m not sure I can blast my way out of here if I need to,” you said, biting your lip.
“Are you OK?” He asked quickly.
“I’m fine,” you said, stretching your legs a bit, adjusting on the bed. “But I just thought you should know. There’s a fair bit of firepower here. They’ve got men and they’ve got blasters. I don’t think I’m in danger but if it comes down to it, you might just need to take the kid and go.”
“No.”
“Din…” you sighed.
“No. That’s the end of it.”
“If it’s me or the kid, you choose the kid,” you said. “And I don’t mean in a sure thing, either, because I know what you’d do then. I mean if it looks at all dicey, do not risk that boy. Understand?”
He was silent.
“I mean it, Din,” you said. “Do not risk it.”
“I promise I won’t take any undue risks with the kid’s life,” he said after a moment.
“That was oddly specific,” you replied.
“It’s the answer you’re getting.”
“You’re infuriating.”
“And you’re frustrating,” he replied. “Same as always.”
You rolled your eyes but found yourself wishing you could turn and look at him, touch him. When you slept beside each other, even if you started out feet apart you always ended up close, naturally gravitating toward each other, even when you weren’t conscious.
Neither of you had said goodnight but it had been a few minutes since you’d said anything and you let your mind drift, staring at the ceiling. Without meaning to, you found yourself remembering the night by the fire, the night that he’d touched you. The way his hands - his bare, ungloved hands - had roamed over your skin, leaving trails of heat over your flesh. You’d felt the desire there, the need and the want that mirrored your own, you were sure it was there when he sank his fingers into you, his thumb working your clit, his other hand against your breast and then your mouth and then your hair…
You slipped one hand below your shirt, cupping your breast, the other drifting into your pants, slipping over your lower lips, brushing your clit, finding the slick heat at your core.
“Doll?” His voice on the com made you jump and you scrambled for it, answering it as quickly as you could.
“Yeah?” You said, wincing at the sound of your voice. He paused.
“What were you just doing?”
“Nothing.”
“Doesn’t sound like nothing.”
You were quiet, breathing heavy, cheeks hot.
“Keep doing it,” he said, his voice dark. You swallowed, hard.
“Doing what?” You asked.
“You know what.”
You were silent.
“Where’s your hand, Doll.” He asked while not asking - he never could just ask.
“None of your business,” you said, still a little breathless.
“It’s my business,” he replied. “I want you to put your hand between your legs.”
“You think I’m going to just do what you tell me?” You demanded even though you knew you were going to listen to him, you were already desperate.
“Yes,” he said. “Put your hand between your legs. Tell me when you have.”
“Only if you do it, too,” you said quickly.
“Deal,” he said. “Put your hand between your legs, Doll.”
You took a shaky breath and obeyed, putting your fingers back against yourself.
“OK,” you said, trying to keep your voice from trembling.
“Touch your clit,” he ordered. “Lightly, one finger, moving in a circle.”
You closed your eyes and obeyed, the sound of his voice settling warm in your stomach, like the best liquor, getting you drunk on desire. A light moan slipped from your lips.
“Good,” he said, his voice heavier. “Keep going, a little harder now, up and down.”
“Are you…” you managed, but he cut you off.
“Don’t worry about me,” he said. “Add another finger, a little harder, faster.”
You obeyed. It was easy, pretending it was his hand touching you when his voice was so close, telling you what to do, making it so you didn’t need to think or worry.
“Slide your fingers down,” he ordered. “Use your palm on your clit, get your fingers nice and wet for me, Doll.”
“Din,” you whimpered as you obeyed.
“I want you to push into yourself,” he almost moaned it, sounding almost as desperate as you felt. “Slowly. You’re tight, don’t go too hard…”
“Fuck,” you moaned, opening yourself with your two fingers, slowly sinking into your sex.
“Tell me when you’re all the way inside, Doll,” he was panting now. “I want to hear you.”
Your walls clenched tight around your fingers, wetness seeping out onto your hand, until you were buried deep inside yourself.
“I am,” you managed.
“Good,” he said. “Curve your fingers up into yourself, you know where I mean.”
You obeyed with a choked moan, pressing into the spot he’d found with his fingers.
“Keep your fingers curved,” he said. “And slowly slide them down, almost out of you, keep your palm on your clit.”
You did as you were told, moving excruciatingly slowly inside yourself, your body starting to tighten around you.
“Doll?” He asked. His voice was needy. “Tell me what you need.”
“You,” you whimpered.
“Me what.”
“You to make me cum,” you were ready to beg if he needed. “You to cum. You in me. Please…”
“Push your fingers inside yourself again,” he said. “Harder, faster. Then pull them back. Do it again and again for me, harder and faster each time.”
“Fuck,” you gasped it as you worked your hand against yourself, your body getting tighter and tighter. “Are you close?”
“I’m not cumming until you’re at least on number two, Doll,” he said. “Let me hear you.”
You moaned, pressing harder and faster into yourself, your fingers stretching your wet heat to the point of soreness but you didn’t care, breaths coming in keening pants.
“Fuck, I’m about to cum,” you moaned.
“Do it,” he commanded. “Cum for me.”
You went over the edge at his words, your whole body throbbing with it, not able to see straight from it.
“Din,” you moaned, breathless, your fingers stilled inside you. “Fuck…”
“Did I tell you to stop?” He asked.
“No.”
“Then don’t stop,” he said. “I need you to cum one more time for me, I need to finish with you. Keep fucking yourself, hard, deep.”
Your body was like a raw nerve, everything heightened, but you listened, thrusting your fingers in and out of yourself, letting yourself moan and pant so that he could hear you. He did the same, the sound of his pleasure rough and demanding. You couldn’t help but imagine what it would feel like if it was you he was slamming into instead of his hand, how he’d stretch you, fill you.
“Din,” it was like you were having an out of body experience, there was too much pleasure in you for your mind to process as your second orgasm built. You were watching yourself standing at the edge of a cliff, desperately wanting to shove yourself over the side. “I’m about to… Fuck, Din, please…”
“Please what,” he swallowed, panting.
“Please cum,” you begged. “I can’t hold back, please…”
“Fuck, Cyare,” he moaned, his voice filling you as you came, hard, your body surrendering totally to it. He was breathless, gasping but satisfied. You went limp on the bed, your fingers still inside yourself, you didn’t have the energy to move them.
You both lay there, coming back down from your shared high while miles apart. You caught your breath, happy to just listen to him exist on the other end of the comm.
“Doll?” He said softly.
You paused. What did you even say now?
“Yes?”
“Be safe.”
A/N: I'm SUPER excited about this chunk of story, I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
Thanks for reading and enjoying Din and Doll! Love you all <3

DEFECTIVE GOOD PART 14
The next day, JR was woken up by the smell of food and opened her eyes to see Finn standing there with a plate. He smiled down at her before waving shyly.
"Hey. Hum…I just wanted to come and see how you were doing. Cause I know how strange it could be for a stormtrooper to come here and…Anyway." Finn rambled before putting the plate down next to her. "Breakfast."
JR stirred slightly, and opened her eyes.
"Morning..." She mumbled, smiling softly at Finn as she saw him. She sighed quietly, sitting up and stretching lightly.
"Thank you..." she murmured, picking up the plate and starting to eat...
Finn smiled.
Tumblr media
"Yeah. No problem. Am just happy to have another…you know…'traitor' around." The way he emphasised on the word made JR frowned slightly.
"Traitor..." She muttered under her breath with a frown, taking a small bite of her food. It tasted bitter. "I thought the term was 'deserter'..."
Finn chuckled before patting her back.
"Yeah. Well…Not when Captain Phasma or General Hux say it." Finn grinned. "Are they still pissed about the whole 'taking an X-fighter and flying away' thing ?"
"...I should imagine so..." JR said with a small smile, taking a small sip of juice before continuing. "And what's your story anyway ? How did you manage to escape the First Order in the first place ? They didn’t exactly tell us how you did it. Just…that you did. And that you were a deserter."
Finn’s eyes widened slightly before chuckling awkwardly while massaging the back of his neck.
"Oh. Me ? Yeah. So hum…I kinda offered to help Poe escape if he also helped me and one thing led to another and here I am."
She blinked twice in front of his explanation, before chuckling.
"And that’s the story ? Just ‘one thing led to another’ ?"
Finn laughed and shrugged.
"Pretty much. Yeah. Listen. I am just glad to be alive."
JR smiled, taking another bite of her food before nodding in agreement.
"I can understand that..." she murmured, before taking another sip of her juice. Finn then looked around her tent.
"You got lucky. When I escaped the First Order, I ended up in quicksand on Jakku. You at least got a tent. By the way, how did you find out that the Resistance was on this planet ?"
"Oh..." She said, her tone softening as she heard this part. "That sounds rough..."
There was a slight pause, before she continued.
"Well...I was in a blizzard a couple of days ago...And I bumped into a Resistance soldier, who gave me directions to this base. Then...Well..." she took another sip of her juice. "Here I am..."
"A blizzard ?" Finn frowned. "On what planet ?"
"...The planet Coontra..." She stayed silent for a moment, realizing that she hadn’t really paid attention to the name of the planet Hux had given her and hoped she hadn’t mistaken. She shrugged dismissively. "But…Doesn't matter. What matters is that I survived..."
"Funny. Never heard about the planet Coontra…" Finn narrowed his eyes suspiciously at her and before JR could answer, Poe came in the tent with a smile. "Rey is back ! Come on."
They both looked at his excited face and JR nodded before returning her attention on Finn.
"Hey...Thanks for the food...We’ll talk later." she murmured, getting up from her place and walking over to meet Poe. Finn nodded. The three of them went outside to see people surrounding Rey’s ship getting back down. When she got off, she immediately smiled and went to hug Finn and Poe.
"I got it ! I know where Skywalker is ! And…" Rey stopped dead in her tracks when she noticed JR. "…Who’s that ?"
JR stayed silent for a moment, watching the small reunion, when Rey noticed her...Her entire being tensed up, and she stayed completely still. It wasn’t like she could hide from Rey. She could use the Force...So just remaining still and staying silent was her best bet. Poe grinned and wrapped an arm around JR.
"This is JR ! She’s the stormtrooper who helped us escape Starkiller Base, remember ?! Seems like she finally decided to come on our side ! Isn’t that good news ?"
JR stayed silent for a moment. She knew Poe was only trying to help. But she also knew full well that this was unlikely to go well...Rey couldn’t just be friendly to her, after all. She was a stormtrooper ! It didn’t matter to Rey that she was now a “deserter” or something...Rey was always going to view her with suspicious eyes. And this situation was only going to heighten that suspicion.
"...Right." Rey said after a few moments, her own expression shifting to one that was much more guarded. "I see...I remember you. You are the stormtrooper who talked to me when I was captured."
Poe took a step backwards, realizing that his attempt hadn't worked.
"...So ah...Yeah. It's good to have you back, Rey..." He muttered awkwardly, not knowing how to salvage the situation...JR tried to put on a smile on her face before extending her hand towards Rey.
"It’s nice to see you again, Rey."
Rey stared at her for a few moments, before slowly taking JR’s hand in her own...
"...You too..." She said with a soft voice...Not exactly the warmest response in the world, but it was still a positive one...Rey knew her from the day she had been captured. There was a silent understanding between them. Rey knew JR had tried to salvage the situation and end the war the only way she had known how…
Tumblr media
JR nodded understandingly. Rey slowly let go of JR's hand and the trooper stayed completely still, her body still tensed. But...Rey wasn't outright suspicious of her. She was definitely cautious but, she was also giving JR a chance...That was something, at least. She felt grateful for it.
General Organa arrived just at that moment and smiled as she saw Rey.
"Ah. Rey. You are back. Good. I do hope you bring good news."
Rey turned towards General Organa, quickly returning the smile.
"Don't worry, I do. I have confirmation of the location of Luke Skywalker."
General Organa smiled.
Tumblr media
"Ah ! Excellent. Let’s go talk in privacy…"
"Yes." Rey said with a nod. She took one last look at JR, before following after General Organa, with some people following along, including Finn. They left and JR hesitated before returning to her tent and pacing around. This could be big…Was she to warn the First Order ? Part of her wanted to stay loyal to the First Order, to tell them where Skywalker was, to tell them everything she new...But the other half of her...The one who remembered what it was like to be a stormtrooper...The one who felt guilty for all the things she had done while under the First Order. That half of her wanted to help the Resistance. For this nightmare to end. JR finally sighed in defeat before turning on her transmitter.
"General Hux ? Can you hear me ?"
A few moments passed, and then General Hux’s voice finally came through.
"Yes. I can hear you. What is it, JR-6025 ?"
She looked down. It had been a long time since she had heard his voice…It made her momentarily nervous.
"I…have news. It seems the scavenger girl got her hands on the final piece of the map to Skywalker."
"...The final piece...?" Hux muttered, slowly turning to look around, making sure he was in a private place before adding: "...How did she come across this piece ?"
"…I do not know, sir. I wasn’t authorised to participate in the meeting." JR told him and general Hux sighed. She knew he was disappointed…
"Understood." He then stayed silent for a few moments.
"Where is she now...?"
JR looked at the tent where they had disappeared in and replied promptly.
"Rey and General Organa as well as a couple of Resistance fighters are holding a meeting in the command centre right now."
"...A resistance meeting..." General Hux muttered and frowned at the news. That certainly didn’t sound good. "So ah...She is close to finding him."
He stayed silent, his fingers clenching and unclenching for a few moments.
"...When does the meeting end...?"
JR shook her head.
"I do not know, sir." She then waited a moment before asking. "Your directives if indeed the girl is planning on going to see Skywalker ?"
There was a moment of silence before general Hux spoke again.
"...The orders stay the same. She cannot reach Skywalker..." He stayed silent for a handful of moments as he thought about his next move. The scavenger girl could—under no circumstances—reach Skywalker and become more powerful than she already was. "...And...If she does ? She must not return from that place alive..."
"…Sir ?" JR was stunned. "…Do you mean…?"
General Hux closed his eyes and his jaw twitched. He knew that the mission would be hard for JR-6025, but he also knew of her undying loyalty to him.
"...If Rey manages to reach Skywalker..." His tone was flat. The words cold as he finally condemned out loud. "...She must not return...Understood, trooper ?"
Tumblr media
JR’s heart hammered in her chest at his death sentence and she gulped. No…She couldn’t…kill her. She had made a promise to Kylo Ren. But at the same time, Rey was the last hope of the galaxy. She was the only wall standing between the First Order and total domination.
But, JR was still a stormtrooper.
"Sir. I…" She closed her eyes. "…Yes, sir. Understood."
There was a moment of silence, before he finally said: "...Good. Keep me informed...And get ready..."
There was another long moment of silence, before he finally added:
"...That is all for now..."
She remained with her eyes closed and replied.
"Yes, sir."
She ended the transmission and sighed before looking up at the ceiling…What was she supposed to do now ? She had to do something. She couldn’t possibly break her promise to Lord Kylo Ren. But, JR also could not stand by while Rey left to meet with Skywalker. It would crush the First Order and general Hux’s slim trust in her. Her inner conflict was becoming stronger...Part of her told herself: The First Order will be fine...The galaxy will be fine with them in charge... But the other part, the part born out of guilt and shame, told her: No...The galaxy will not...We have only brought destruction and pain, while the Resistance is fighting for peace...
She was starting to wonder what to do when she heard that the meeting had ended. She quickly got out and saw Rey enter a spaceship to leave.
Her eyes widened.
She was leaving—surely to meet with Skywalker.
She couldn’t let her go alone.
She was still struggling with these competing voices within her head...The First Order...The Resistance...Her promise to Lord Ren.
Who was she loyal to...?
She knew that if she revealed Skywalker’s location, the First Order would reach him first which would ultimately lead to Rey’s death which was what Hux wanted...and what Lord Ren dreaded. JR hesitated before suddenly racing towards the spaceship to get inside just as it was about to leave. JR raced aboard the spaceship—just as the door was closing.
JR took a few minutes to process all that was happening, taking deep breaths to try and calm herself down...She stayed hidden until the spaceship had landed. She didn’t know where they were, but she knew that it must be on the planet where Luke Skywalker was…
The spaceship landed, and the doors started to open. Rey got out. JR was still hidden in the spaceship, and she could hear Rey stepping off in the distance...She waited a few minutes before finally getting out herself. She found herself on an island surrounded by waves. She took a deep breath. She had never seen an ocean before…
JR looked around her, taking in the scenery...
An ocean...The gentle waves...She breathed in the air...It made her think of Azterri—but so much wilder. There was a wild beauty to the island. She couldn't believe she had never seen something like this before and as much as she was torn between sides, as scared as her inner conflict made her...She couldn’t deny it.
This was beautiful.
She took a deep breath of the fresh seaside air and momentarily forgot where she was until she heard a voice coming from one of the caves. She frowned before following the voice and found an old man talking to himself.
"No. Not again. Never again am I going to train jedis. It's over." Luke Skywalker said and shook his head—memories of Kylo Ren haunting him. The ghost of Yoda shook his head next to Luke.
"Train them You must. The future They are."
Skywalker scoffed mockingly at his old master’s words before replying.
"Yeah well…You train them then !"
Yoda frowned before answering in a serious voice—hinted with disapproval.
"Skywalker's job It is. Let the galaxy down You must not…"
Luke frowned before sighing. He knew that the galaxy’s fate held in the balance and soon enough, there would be no place to hide.
"The galaxy never did me any good. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to train them. And that's my final answer." He said with finality in his tone and Yoda’s gaze softened as he saw the pain and sorrow in Luke’s eyes.
"Yoda’s role it is not To convince you. If you are to turn your back from the truth Then lost we will all be…" Yoda said with finality before slowly disappearing. JR’s eyes widened as the ghost’s eyes met hers. She held her breath. But, the ghost only smiled at her before disappearing completely—leaving Skywalker alone in the cave. Skywalker seemed adamant in his refusal to train Rey—noy that that it surprised her...But the ghost's words...about his “duty” to train the Jedi...something seemed to urge her to stay and convince Skywalker. If the ghost was right, then the balance would be broken…
She was about to step closer to hear more of the conversation when she slipped and suddenly tumbled inside the cave.
"….Ouch."
JR immediately froze...Her presence was no longer unknown to the person inside. JR stayed completely still and quiet, hoping that Luke hadn’t heard her. Wishful thinking. Suddenly, she saw a pair of shoes in front of her and slowly looked up to see Skywalker looking down at her—he didn’t seem pleased.
"Who are you and what are you doing on my island ?" He asked authoritatively and JR's mind was all over the place as she tried to think of an excuse...She shouldn't have been here, she shouldn't have gotten on the spaceship...But there was nothing she could do now...She quickly managed to calm herself down a little and she then replied with a soft voice:
"I'm...I'm a stormtrooper, sir."
Luke frowned and looked her up and down.
"Oh really ? Stormtroopers aren’t welcome on my island…" He raised his hand towards her and fear struck JR. She thought about trying to flee from the cave...But then another thought crossed her mind...Why not simply say the truth...
"I'm a deserter...I wasn’t sent by the First Order, sir. I come in peace." She hoped it would help her case, but Luke didn’t seem impressed at all.
"Oh yeah ? And I don’t care. Get off my island before I…"
"JR !" Rey arrived in the cave and frowned before helping her up. "What are you doing here ?!"
JR flinched as Rey spoke. She was still tense and anxious and she couldn't help but remain still as Rey helped her up...It looked like Rey was about to yell at her at any second, but she restrained herself.
"...I just came here because I wanted to help you." JR whispered.
"Wait…Did you sneak onto my ship ?" Rey didn’t seem pleased at all and she sighed and shook her head in disbelief. "I do not need your help. I need you to go."
JR stayed silent for a moment. She felt so ashamed of herself...Of what she had done...A stormtrooper, a deserter, sneaking into a Resistance ship...She knew it wasn't good...
"I am sorry. I…" She started, but was interrupted by Luke.
"Here’s an idea. How about you both get off my island ?!" Skywalker raised his arms in disbelief before JR turned towards him and replied.
"Alright. I will leave. But, please…Train Rey. She made it all this way for you to train her. She searched for you. For this place…" JR continued and tried to plead, but Skywalker interrupted her.
"I know." Skywalker muttered, sounding annoyed.
"Then, will you train her ? Please." JR insisted. "I know there must be a reason that you have decided to stay hidden for so long, but Rey needs your guidance."
JR could see the old Jedi Master slowly lowering his gaze, and she knew what she was doing was having an effect...Luke sighed, raising his gaze once more. He looked at Rey and frowned.
"...She will not become a Jedi..." he said, sounding resigned and JR frowned in incomprehension.
"Why ? Why are you so afraid ?" She asked and Luke’s eyes hardened as he glared at her.
"You do not understand. None of you do." He muttered, shaking his head slightly. "You don't know what happened..."
"No…Maybe not." She conceded. "But, I know that this war needs to end. And that Rey can put an end to it. So, please…Train her. I beg of you."
"...I...I can't...I cannot...The past..." Skywalker mumbled and shook his head. Luke was suddenly shaking and clutching his chest. "...Will come back...It always does."
"The past doesn’t need to repeat itself…" JR spoke up and Luke closed his eyes—a pained expression on his face.
"...But it does..." Luke muttered, his voice low and shaky. "...We...We always think we can be different..."
He then turned away, looking towards the darkness within his cave. "...But the galaxy has a way of repeating history..."
She looked at the darkness as well.
"…But, we can learn from past mistakes." Rey advanced and Luke huffed a mocking laugh.
"...Oh, we do learn...." He muttered to himself. "...And we think that we can be better because we have..."
He let out a sigh...
"...But history always has a way of repeating itself...The light and the dark...They balance each other..." A short pause followed. "...But every time there's too much light...The darkness rises...And every time there's too much darkness..."
There was a longer pause.
"...The light rises...It's a cycle..."
"A cycle can be broken !" JR claimed and Luke glared at her once more.
"But it shouldn't be." Luke looked at her, and JR noticed the sadness in the Jedi Master's eyes. "...The Force is supposed to be balanced. Neither too much light. Neither too much darkness..."
"But the cycle is going to be broken. Look at the galaxy. Listen to the Force. You know that if we let it happen, the First Order will destroy this cycle…" She countered and Luke nodded.
"Yes. And a new light and a new dark shall rise...It's the way things go...It's the way things always go..." His voice was low and solemn...But there was a hint of sadness there too. There was a hint of resignation there as well...
"Nothing changes. Nothing. When a cycle ends, another is born."
He turned his back on her and Rey’s eyes lowered. JR felt an urge within her begging to be let out. She couldn’t let him go. She knew her duty and the fact that Skywalker himself was set on staying out of trouble could only be good for the First Order. She should be happy. Rey wouldn’t be trained and her mission would be finished. She wouldn’t have to betray anyone or kill anyone.
But…
"Please !" JR surged forward and grabbed his arm. Luke hissed and turned towards JR with widened eyes. He groaned loudly in annoyance.
Tumblr media
"What do you want from me ?!"
"I want you to train Rey !" JR pleaded and her eyes filled with tears. She hadn’t come so far and seen so much just to give up now. "Han Solo is dead…And who knows how many innocents will die before the end of the war ?!"
JR could see the sorrow in Luke's eyes at the mention of the death of his old friend, but he quickly shook his head.
"This war is endless. I already tried to end it years ago, but it didn't work. I'm sorry."
He didn’t look JR in the eyes, he couldn’t. But, she didn’t give up and took his hand in hers to force him to look at her, which he eventually did.
"Please..We need your help, master Luke. Help us." He opened his mouth, prepared to shut her down one last time, but she looked at him with such pleading eyes that he finally sighed in defeat and nodded.
"Fine. If you want to learn about the Force and be killed because of it, who am I to disagree ?! But, know that after that, there is no turning back to what you were. People will hunt you down for your knowledge, or just because you are different from them, are you ready to face the consequences ?" He turned towards Rey and he had a stern expression on his face. "Are you ?!"
Rey gulped, but nodded nonetheless.
"I am ready to do what must be done."
Luke looked into Rey’s eyes. She sounded resolute...Determined...She made him think of Han. The same stubbornness in their gaze. If Rey was to save the galaxy, he knew he had no choice but to train her.
"...Fine...Fine..." He muttered, and the sadness in his eyes grew even stronger...He would do as he was asked...But, there was alwa a price to pay for such knowledge. Both women smiled at each other and Rey took a step forward to give Luke his lightsaber back.
"Thank you, Master Luke."
Luke remained silent as he looked at the lightsaber in Rey’s hand and then he realized that the time had come...He couldn't refuse her. He slowly reached out to take the lightsaber from her.
"Do not thank me…Training will start tomorrow morning at the first rays of sunlight. Be ready."
Rey smiled and nodded in agreement. JR smiled weakly as she knew that Rey would be trained now and hope flared within her. Her mission was done. JR turned around, walking away. JR had managed to sway Skywalker—just in time. The next step was making sure that he trained Rey and that she fulfilled her goal...Whatever the price might be...
She looked down at the transmitter around her wrist and her smile dropped. She started thinking about General Hux. Her thumb rubbed around the wrist band. She was torn. If she was to communicate their location, then the First Order would win. They would come and kill Rey and Luke. It would be over. Finally. But…She couldn’t find the will to do so. Poe and Leia’s hope had succeeded in making her believe in something else than the First Order—something greater.
Everything will be alright. I will put an end to this war. And he will understand—eventually.
She took a deep breath before walking away. She returned to the ship where she knew Chewbacca was waiting. He would certainly bring her back to the Resistance and she could always invent an excuse to General Hux about not being able to know the location of Skywalker.
JR took a deep breath and was about to get on board when she heard a voice behind her.
"And where do you think you’re going ?"
JR turned around and saw that Skywalker was behind her. Her first instinct was to just keep walking, but she decided to turn and face the old Jedi Master...
"I'm going back to the Resistance camp..."
He raised an eyebrow at her.
"You would leave your friend alone ?"
JR frowned in confusion before she realised he was talking about Rey and she sighed.
"She isn’t my friend. Or I cannot be hers. She would never trust a stormtrooper."
Luke hummed.
"I see…But, you still begged me to train her."
JR smiled to herself.
"Hope is contagious…Some people infected me with it."
Luke chuckled before walking forward to stand next to her.
"I see…Leia is still as convincing as she used to be. This is why she sent you both to me."
JR frowned and let out an awkward laugh.
"She only sent Rey. I simply sneaked myself in."
Luke raised both of his eyebrows at her and restrained a mocking huff.
"Oh really ? You—a stormtrooper—managed to sneak yourself aboard a Resistance ship, in the middle of a Resistance camp and without anyone seeing you or trying to stop you ? Impressive. Please. Teach me your ways." She could hear his sarcasm and her eyes widened at the realisation.
Tumblr media
"…She knew." JR whispered and Luke smiled.
"Of course she knew. The woman has eyes behind her head. Nothing flies past her." He then looked at JR with a little mirth in his gaze. "You are exactly where you are meant to be. Your friend needs you—Rey needs you. Or, she will. Now, the only question that remains is…Will you stay and help or leave and flee from your own fears ?"
He extended a hand towards her and JR blinked twice in astonishment at the offer before hesitating. Was he right ? Would Rey need her ? And most importantly, would JR want to engage into something that would make her a true traitor of the First Order ?
She bit her lower lip—doubt plaguing her mind.
She finally closed her eyes and looked away.
"I…do not think Rey needs me. She has you. I would not help her by staying."
Luke humphed before replying.
"I do not know what conflict you seem to be having or why you wish to leave…but what I do know is that Leia is never wrong. And that if she let you come to me ? It is that you will have a role to play. And if I am to play the role of a teacher, then I will expect you to also take on the role that the Force has bestowed upon you."
He then started walking away.
"First lesson tomorrow. Do NOT be late."
And with that, he was gone.
JR sighed before looking at the spaceship before her. She knew she should go, but Luke’s words had left an impact on her. Was he right ? Did she really have a role to play in this future to be built ?
And if she had…
Which role would it be ?
She looked down at the transmitter around her wrist.
Was she to be a traitor ?
She looked back in the direction that Luke had taken.
Or was she to be a hero ?
She waited for a few minutes before taking her decision. She followed in Luke Skywalker’s footsteps and her eyes looked up at the sky where night was slowly falling.
…Maybe could she try to be someone else ? Just this once.

misc rey headcanons !!!
gifted with psychometry. it's not something they're typically has control of due to the lack of training she has in the sequels but in prequels au's she was able to be taught things to help her control it. it's also why she gets overwhelmed with emotions so easily.
rey is a very skilled fighter. they're also very intelligent ( knows multiple languages, and understands technology and spaceships very well )
her favorite things include tinkering with things, rain, PLANTS, animals, the ocean, and nature. it might be a force-sensitive thing to be very in tune with nature but regardless, it's something she loves and appreciates ( she's always careful when walking around nature, makes sure to not step on flowers, respect it, etc ). she's also a big reader and will read manuals FOR FUN.
flying spacecraft is one of their favorite things, even if there's nowhere to go. being in the sky is one of the most freeing things for her to experience.
they're very susceptible to the dark side but has always chosen the light.
her fighting style is very messy. this is verse-dependent. she's not afraid to fight, pull your hair, fight dirty. she's a very capable fighter and easily angered so if she feels threatened she might (probably will) attack.
on jakku, it hardly rained. and yet some of her own water supply went to a little plant she had.
on jakku, while there was genuinely nobody looking out for them, i imagine there was this crazy old lady who taught her a few things. like the basics on how to read, maths, a bit of history, survival stuff. she gave rey the basics to let her explore further on her own. in a way, rey taught herself everything from the basics she was given. so rey will likely pronounce things wrong since she had nobody to bounce things off of. she's also fluent in many languages but not fluent in speaking.
they were left with unkar plutt and he basically controlled everything she did. ( i wouldn't say she was ever SOLD, she wasn't a slave or anything like that but he was very controlling ( she was prob more of an indentured servant? bc since her parents didn't come back for her he made her make up the debt / work for him but by the time tfa happens she's independent ) ! but he basically controls all the workers on jakku bc he's the only one around with food, so. it's bc most on jakku are poor and don't have other choices. she was his favorite scavenger so he controlled the jobs she took, and would typically make sure she only took his jobs, the lack of food she'd be given, made sure she couldn't leave even if she wanted to + didn't see her as a person which reflected on rey's identity issues and not knowing who or what she is ). very manipulative, instilled in her head that she was a nobody and nothing and didn't matter in the galaxy. he also made her work right away. so she was like. five years old and working all day in the heat. the few good things he gave her was making her figure out how to survive on her own and he kept other scavengers from bothering her / stealing her stuff. and also was a person she NEVER wanted to become.
rey's name is taken from the dosmit raeh helmet she has on jakku ! but her birthname was kira. kira kenobi.
if rey had a gun tlj + tros wouldn't have happened bc she would've taken down the entire first order with sheer willpower and spite.
rey was visited by various force ghosts as a child, whether she was aware/remembers is tbd.
rey doesn't actually remember most of her childhood. she gets brief flashbacks in dreams but that's the extent of it. she doesn't remember what her father looked like but vaguely remembers her mother.
when rey has her own lightsaber, it's dual-bladed lightsaber staff that can also split in half to form two separate lightsabers. she prefers it in the staff form.
i DO like the idea of rey's parents actually caring for her and they were killed by palpatine / the first order / the sith who wanted rey bc they knew she'd be a powerful force user ! but it wouldn't be bc she's a palpatine who would inherit the sith legacy or w/e but because she's a kenobi. i can't really vibe with parents who genuinely didn't care for rey or abandoned them on purpose.
rey wasn't born on jakku. i think she was either born on coruscant, OR hyperkarn ( her mothers homeworld which is a forest planet.
rey is bisexual, but leans more towards demisexual, potentially grey-ace. she very much needs to develop a deep bond with someone to consider anything.
rey would identify as non-binary, but is very fluid in it. they're ok with typical feminine descriptions ( woman/girl, daughter, etc ). they have a connection to womanhood + girlhood while simultaneously feeling outside of it. ( rey's so me, actually ) so she/they/any pronouns are fine! i will either go back and forth with pronouns or choose one in a thread and stick to it.

Serendipity (Poe Dameron x Original Female Character) Chapter IV: A Reminder of the Past
Masterlist
Tumblr media
The planet D'Qar, Outer Rim, 34 ABY
"You're alive. I can't believe it, you're alive."
Yeah, she was. Obviously. Why wouldn't she be?
"Finn buddy, I think you need to sit down. Did you hit your head or something?" Poe pointed to an empty seat at their table, feeling genuine concern for his friend. The pilot had no idea what was going on but neither did Finn, he thought. At least that's what it looked like.
That seemed to shake him out of his shock and the former stormtrooper hurried towards them, not caring about his abandoned tray. Once he had sat down, the cafeteria went back to minding their own business, sensing that this was personal.
"I'm sorry, do I know you?" Sora asked, not meaning to sound rude. Pure confusion was all she felt as she tried to remember where she had seen him before. Despite her efforts, nothing came to mind.
Finn looked her up and down, searching for something only he knew. As if sensing it made her uncomfortable, he cleared his throat and locked eyes with her. There was a warmth in his brown eyes she had never seen before and she briefly wondered how this person could have ever been a stormtrooper to begin with. "I'm sorry," he quickly said. "You probably won't remember me. You know, with the white helmet and armor."
"You have to be a bit more specific. I've seen many stormtroopers in my life."
"Right, of course." Clearing his throat once again, he leaned forwards, lowering his voice. "It's just that the last time I saw you, I used every last bacta patch we had on you. Still, I had no idea whether it was going to be enough. You were basically dead already."
Suddenly, something clicked in her head. The pieces fit together perfectly. Her mouth fell open slightly and she blinked at Finn, taking time to process this revelation. "It was you. You saved me. But...how?"
None of her friends dared to speak. They were all much too engrossed in the conversation between the smuggler and the newest member of the Resistance. "It wasn't easy. Had to hide you with our cargo to get you onto the ship. I knew the escape pods were the only place no one would bother checking, so I healed you there as best as I could. When we were over Jakku, I tricked the systems, so that your escape pod could leave undetected," Finn explained, sparing Poe a quick glance. The pilot had been listening intently, gazing at him with a proud smile. "I wasn't sure you had made it safely. Not until now."
Sora didn't know how to answer. She was rendered speechless. The smuggler knew she had to thank him but couldn't find the right words.
It was Revan's turn to speak. He crossed his arms over his chest, eyeing Finn with an unknown emotion. "So you were there. On Atrisia. Why did you choose to go back for her?"
"I suppose the same reason why you deserted. Because I was sick of the blood on my hands."
Revan nodded, easily believing the answer. "You did the right thing."
Poe smacked Finn's shoulder, grinning widely. "Completing my mission and saving Sora's life? You're awesome, buddy."
Finn appreciated the compliment, albeit a bit unsurely. Sora could see that he wasn't convinced. The way he was bouncing his knee and his fingers fumbled with his jacket told her that he didn't feel comfortable at all. Like he was only waiting for an opportunity to jump to his feet and sprint out of here.
Clearly, something was bothering him.
"Thank you Finn. Without you I wouldn't be here. I won't forget that." And she meant it. She would forever be in his debt.
The group was interrupted by See-Threepio. The golden protocol droid came rushing straight for their table, a great urgency in his every step. "Master Dameron, Team Phoenix and Master Finn, the General wishes to see you immediately. You will have to follow me, please."
The group shared a worried look with each other but instantly complied, hurrying after the droid who was surprisingly quiet on the whole way. He led them into the conference room where the members of the Resistance' inner circle were already waiting. Guess that meant her team was important now as well.
They huddled around an unfamiliar hologram which caused dread to rise in Sora. Out of the corner of her eyes, she barely recognized Han Solo, the most famous smuggler in the galaxy. Right, BeeBee-Ate had shortly mentioned him as well this morning. She'd seen him before, in Mos Eisley, but the encounter had been so brief she doubted he remembered her.
"Starkiller base," Poe explained, his arm brushing against hers. "The scan data from Snap's reconnaissance flight confirms Finn's report."
Sora tried to soak in all of the new information, biting her bottom lip in concentration.
A middle aged man wearing the familiar orange pilot suit spoke up. The brown curls on his head bounced as he nodded at Poe. According to the tag on his vest, his name was Temmin Wexley, or 'Snap' Poe had called him, and he was a member of the Blue Squadron. "They've somehow created a hyper lightspeed weapon built within the planet itself."
"A laser cannon?" A male officer called Brance asked.
Sora thought it looked much more frightening than a laser cannon. No, this was surely something bigger.
Snap shared her thoughts. "We're not sure how to describe a weapon of this scale."
"Another Death Star?" Someone mumbled, causing the atmosphere to darken instantly. This was not good. Not good at all. When Sora meant she was looking for an adventure, this was certainly not what she had imagined. Not that it mattered anymore. She was in for good now anyways.
Next to her, Poe let out a sigh, angling his body closer to hers, purely out of instinct. "I wish that were the case, Major Ematt." He hit a control button and a wireframe of the Death Star appeared before them. "This was the Death Star." The pilot hit another button and the gargantuan space station shrunk and shrunk, growing smaller until it was nothing but a tiny satellite of a huge planet. "This is Starkiller Base."
The news left everyone stunned. Sora exhaled deeply, the somber atmosphere beginning to affect her. How much had been sacrificed before they were able to destroy the Death Star, many years ago? She vaguely remembered her mother telling her tales of the Rebellion, of Rogue One. Tales of the brave Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor who, along with their small crew, had willingly sacrificed their lives for a slice of hope.
This thing, however, was so much bigger. And right now, it was slowly draining any hope they had left.
The deep voice of Han Solo broke the silence, the famous smuggler appearing very nonchalant. "So it's big."
"How is it possible to power a weapon of this size?" Admiral Ackbar dared to ask what so many of them were thinking.
On her other side, Revan's posture tensed. She supposed that given his past, he likely knew more than they did and could only assume it was nothing pleasant. But it was Finn who opened his mouth first. "It uses the power of the sun. As the weapon is charged, the sun is drained until it disappears."
A weapon using the whole power of one sun? Yeah, they were screwed.
She felt Revan's hot breath tickle her ear as he leaned down to whisper. "I'd heard the rumors but never knew they were actually building it. They could destroy entire systems with this."
Sora hummed but said nothing. There was nothing to be said that made this any better.
Suddenly, the doors burst open and an officer made a beeline for Leia who had been a silent observer so far. He handed her a data card and her face consorted in worry as she read it. "The First Order. They're charging the weapon again, now." A pause, then everyone's heart sank to the floor. "Our system is the next target."
"Oh my, without the Republic Fleet, we're doomed," See-Threepio stated the obvious.
It was foolish to think they could stand a chance against a weapon this size. Sora knew the Resistance didn't have enough members, enough firepower to go against the First Order. Not in this case. But there had to be something they could do. Anything.
It occurred to her then, that it was very much possible Kylo Ren had brought Rey to Starkiller Base. Very likely, actually. Which meant that one way or another, it would be her next destination as well. Why not blow the whole thing up during the process as well? Surely, if they could sneak on base, they could find a way to destroy it from the inside. Every weapon had a weakness, just like the Death Star had one, thanks to Galen Erso.
Poe glanced towards her, his eyes momentarily stuck on the lip between her teeth. He could practically see the gears working in her head. There was no doubt she was planning something. Much like him, she didn't seem like to type to give up. "You alright, princess?" He whispered, leaning down to her ear.
But Sora was deep in thoughts and only nodded, not quite registering his words.
Did she have to bite her lip like that? It was incredibly tempting to raise his thumb and gently...no, this wasn't the time for this. Instead, he told himself he just didn't want her hurting herself. Yeah, that was it. One hundred percent.
A tiny spark against his calf shook him out of his thoughts and Poe hissed softly. One look down and BeeBee-Ate stared back at him, tilting his dome head as if scolding him.
"Okay, how do we blow it up? There's always a way to do that." Typical Han Solo thoughts. Poe liked it. Sora agreed as well.
She hoped Revan might have an idea but he stayed silent and shared an unsure look with Finn instead. The smuggler realized that Finn's knowledge vastly surpassed her crewmate's. After all, Revan had left the First Order a couple of years ago. Years in which they had improved their military devices by a lot.
Surprisingly, it was Leia who openly agreed with her husband, catching even him off guard. "Han's right."
"In order for that amount of power to be contained, that base would need some kind of thermal oscillator," Revan voiced his thoughts, his gaze darting back to Finn in question.
Said man nodded in agreement, fingers already working on the hologram. He zoomed in on something and a giant hexagonal structure appeared. "There is one. Precinct 47. Here. If we can destroy that oscillator, it might de-stabilize the core and cripple the weapon."
"Maybe even the planet...," Nyra mumbled lowly but everyone heard her nonetheless.
Poe liked where this was going. They had hope again, even if it was small. "So we'll go in there and we'll hit that oscillator with everything we got." He snuck a look at Sora, silently hoping to get her on board.
The woman in question felt his stare and turned her head in his direction, their brown eyes locking. Shivers crawled across his skin, her warm breath fanning against his face. He found the answer he wanted instantly. Sora wasn't a fan of many words, that much he had gathered already. Lips pulling into an excited smile, she quickly sent him a nod. Sora liked his idea. He couldn't deny that it boosted his ego. Even though it was the only idea they had anyways.
"They have defensive shields that our ships cannot penetrate," Admiral Ackbar objected.
Han was quick to defend the plan. "We disable the shields." He turned to Finn. "Kid, you worked there. What do you got?"
He missed a single beat. Then: "I can do it."
But Sora still noticed him squirming. He wanted to go to Starkiller Base, she was sure. But she knew when someone was hiding something. After all, it was part of her job.
Han grinned, happy with his reply. "I like this guy."
But Finn wasn't done talking yet. "I can disable the shields. But I have to be there, on the planet."
Sora had to seize the opportunity. It was her only chance to save Rey.
"We'll get you there." Han and her said simultaneously and their gazes instantly snapped towards each other. Calculations were done in their heads before they silently came to an agreement. He wouldn't undermine her. They were both smugglers and they would need more people on the ground anyways.
Nyra and Revan stepped closer towards her, their own way of showing everyone they would follow Sora's command.
Leia was sceptical, doubts clouding her mind. "Han, how?"
Sora had an idea but so far, she only knew that it worked in theory. As the more experienced smuggler, she hoped Han had practical experience. And it seemed like she was right. "If I told you, you wouldn't like it."
Poe clapped his hands, already moving the plan into motion inside his head. "Great. So we disable the shields, take out the oscillator and blow up their big gun. All right. Let's go!"
*****
The Millennium Falcon was old and had obviously seen its best days. Yet, Sora admired the freighter, almost feeling the stories it told. It truly was a legendary ship and she had only ever dreamed of being on board. Any young smuggler had. Now, her dreams were about to become true.
"Chewie, check that donal capitator. C'mon, let's go." Han watched the wookie disappear inside the ship. They were preparing for take-off, making sure they had everything they would need for their daring mission. "Finn, be careful with those. They're explosives."
Finn who had been busy filling their storage with the tiny but, unbeknownst to him, deadly devices, flinched, almost loosing hold of them. "Now you tell me?" He asked incredulously.
"Here, let me help you," Sora offered, carefully picking up some of the explosives as well. Finn thanked her, staring at her a bit longer than necessary. Now was her time to ask what had been nagging at her. Nyra and Revan were busy doing some last minute repairs whilst Han had walked off to talk to Leia. They were alone, out of earshot. "You're not doing this for the Resistance, aren't you?" It wasn't a question but a statement.
Finn knew lying was useless. "No. I'm doing this for Rey."
Now, that did surprise her. Or did it really? It was no secret Finn had accompanied Rey for a few days. Had they grown closer during that time? Whatever they had gone through, it had clearly left a lasting impression on him.
"Then we have at least one common goal," she pointed out, safely putting the explosives into some crates on board, making sure they were tightly secured.
"You and Rey are friends?" Finn was confused, raising his eyebrows.
"She was the one who found me on Jakku. I owe her a lot."
"I understand. So can I count on you?"
Sora tilted her head, giving him the 'are you serious' look. "Of course. But I'm doing this for the Resistance too. We need to destroy that weapon. Can I count on you as well?"
Finn hesitated a beat too long. "Yes."
If it came down to it, he would choose Rey over anything, she was sure of it. To some extent, she could even understand it. Rey had likely been the first person who had shown some kindness to him. Finn had a lot to learn about himself, a normal process for someone who, until recently, knew nothing but what the First Order had wanted him to. Sora thought that over time, he would become an independent person and would know exactly what he truly wanted do achieve in life. Who he would want to become.
"Hey!" The new voice greeted them as soon as they stepped outside. Poe came to a halt in front of them, wearing his bright orange pilot suit, BeeBee-Ate by his side. The droid needed to stay with him today, despite their bet. His X-Wing needed him.
The pilot smiled at them, although it looked a bit strained. He clasped Finn's shoulder, giving it a soft squeeze. "Take care of yourself, buddy. I don't want anything to happen to my jacket." He winked at him and then let his hand fall against his side again. His smiled softened, growing more tender as he locked eyes with Sora. "Can I talk to you for a second?"
Sora nodded, walking around the Falcon with Poe to isolate them as best they could. BeeBee-Ate stepped back, opting to confuse Finn with his chirping and beeping.
They stopped just outside the jungle, the thicket of trees, bushes and other plants hiding them from curious eyes. Facing each other, they stood close enough so that Sora had to tilt her head backwards a little to look into his eyes.
"Be careful out there, okay?" There was a certain strictness in his expression she hadn't seen before. It was an order, she realized.
She had the urge to soothe his apparant concern. "Don't worry. I'm a smuggler. Sneaking safely in and out of something is kinda what I do best."
She knew there was very much a possibility of her not making it out alive. They were talking about entering a huge First Order base after all. A place not only guarded by hundreds of stormtroopers but also by Kylo Ren. The chances they wouldn't make it out alive were significantly higher than those for surviving.
Poe was all too aware of that as well. He too could fly his X-Wing one last time tonight.
But they had to believe in themselves. In their abilities. The First Order couldn't take that away from them too. Both of them were too stubborn to let that happen.
The pilot watched her silently, contemplating what he wanted to say to her. He wasn't thinking about any famous last words because he was sure this wouldn't be their last conversation. At least, that's what he told himself.
In the end, he simply allowed his mouth to say whatever it wanted. "You and me, princess. Tomorrow evening. Meet me here just after sunset."
Sora wasn't quite sure she had heard him correctly. Still, she went along, noticing the tiny jump her heart had made. "Are you asking me on a date, Poe Dameron?"
"Yes," he admitted shamelessly without hesitation. The pilot wanted to get to know her better. Wanted to know what she liked doing when she was not working. He wanted to know where she had grown up, how she had become a smuggler.
Did she want this? Poe had been nothing but good to her since they had met. He had trusted her from the beginning, had shown that he cared about her. She had already admitted she liked talking and spending time with him. So, why not try and see where else this could lead to? Find out if they shared more than their love for flying and being free? Sora liked taking risks, so why not take this one?
"Okay." Confidence filled her voice and the smile on her lips was real and honest. "See you tomorrow then."
Poe grinned widely, clearly happy that she had agreed. Not that he had expected a different outcome, to be honest. "See you tomorrow."
*****
The planet Ilum, Unknown Regions, 34 ABY
"So, how are we getting in?"
The crew of the Falcon stared at Ilum, an ice planet in the Unknown Regions. Many years ago, this planet was mined for kyber crystals by the Empire. Now, it was the host of Starkiller Base.
From up in space, the planet was a grey and white mass, cut in two halves by a giant trench the First Order had dug. Overall, it wasn't a very inviting place.
Sora peeked over Chewie's shoulder, taking a look at the data shown on a little screen in the cockpit. She raised her brows, concluding what they were about to do in order to get past the planet's shields. "Their shields have a fractional refresh rate. Keeps anything traveling slower than lightspeed from getting through. Which leaves us with only one way to get this done."
From his pilot seat, Han sent her a dry smile. "Park here's right. You better strap in tight."
"We're gonna make our landing approach at lightspeed?!" Finn yelled, looking at them as if they were crazy.
Indeed, it was a crazy maneuver. The ship could crash into anything before they would even see it coming. But they had no other choice.
"That's exactly what we'll do. Alright Chewie, get ready." Han pushed multiple buttons on the console, waiting for Chewie to prepare the Falcon for lightspeed.
The cockpit was crammed with Nyra and Revan sharing a seat by the door and Sora and Finn sitting closely huddled together behind Chewie. Strapping the seatbelt proved to be an almost impossible task, with Finn's butt basically sitting on where she needed to secure it. But with a little help from each other, they managed to make do, their thighs tightly pressed together.
"And now!"
Instantly, the light blue around them switched to planet atmosphere. Snowy, rocky ground appeared in front of them and a thick forest made out of tall pinewood trees threatened to swallow them whole.
Adrenaline surged through her veins as Han yanked the steering back as far as it could go. "I'm pulling up!" He screams. She loved flying but she was glad she wasn't in his seat.
It was too late. The Falcon plowed through the trees, thick wooden branches smacking against the exterior. Alarms began to blare and multiple red lights blinked all over the consoles. Finn grabbed her hand and squeezed it tightly as they were thrown around in their seats. Sora felt the strain the constant movement brought upon her still healing ribs and she groaned softly. Behind her, Revan whooped in ecstasy and Nyra slapped a hand over his mouth to stop him.
"I get any higher, they'll see us," Han explains and Chewie groans, clearly not liking this either.
Suddenly, the Falcon hurtled out of the forest and dove right onto a clearing. Before Han could steer it upwards, it slammed straight into the snow, digging through hundreds of yards of white. They were thrown against their seatbelts and multiple pained groans filled the cockpit. When the ship finally came to a stop, it was nearly completely buried in snow.
Everyone needed a moment to clear their minds and slow down their heart rate. Finn sheepishly loosened his hold on her hand. "Sorry," he mumbled, clearing his throat.
Sora only flexed her hand in response and wiped the sweat onto her pants. "S'okay."
Revan was the first back on his feet, stretching his arms into the air. "Well, that was fun. Think you can do that too, Sora? Could be a fun way to have a good time with the Phoenix."
The smuggler rolled her eyes and looked at him as if he was crazy. "Don't even think about doing that with my ship."
"Alright, party pooper, alright." He raised his hands in defeat, springing to the side to avoid Nyra's elbow which had been on direct route to his stomach.
Han shared an annoyed look with Sora. "Is he always like that?"
"Unfortunately."
Chemie let out a series of groans she couldn't understand. But there was no need to, for he was already shoving a fur-lined jacket into her arms. A sign that they had wasted enough time and needed to leave.
Only minutes later, they stomped through the snow, jackets zipped up straight to their chins. It was freezing and Sora wished she had put on a sweater underneath her jacket. Even the fur couldn't fully prevent the cold from reaching her skin.
"This is the first time I'm seeing snow," Nyra said, rubbing her hands together. "I hate it."
Revan snorted, throwing his arm over her shoulder. "Don't worry, I'll warm you up when we're back." An indignant groan from Chewie was the answer.
"Walkers ahead! Take cover," Han ordered, leading the group towards some sort of structure belonging to the base.
"The flooding tunnels are over that ridge. We'll get in that way," Finn explained, letting his gaze wander across the various structures half buried in snow.
"What was your job when you were based here?" Han didn't seem convinced at all. Sora couldn't fault him. She knew Finn's sole goal was to get Rey and she highly doubted he had any plan about their actual mission at all. He had just needed a way to get on planet.
"Sanitation."
Oh, she actually felt bad for him for a second.
Han was in disbelief. "Sanitation. Then how do you know how to disable the shields?"
"He doesn't," Sora said, leaning against the structure behind her. "He just wants to save Rey. Which I want as well, by the way. So we need to find a way to do both."
Finn nodded. "What she said."
The legendary smuggler didn't know whom he wanted to smack first, looking from Sora to Finn and back. "People are counting on us. The entire galaxy is counting on us-"
"Hey, we'll figure it out. We'll find a way to disable those shields first. But I'm not leaving my friend here. We're enough people , we'll make do."
"Shields first, then your friend," Revan agreed, voice hard and leaving no room for argument, as if stating the obvious.
"Captain's orders." Nyra shrugged her shoulders, grinning at Sora.
I can definitely get used to this, she thought. This new team of hers.
Chewie's groans and moans interrupted their conversation. In disbelief, Han addressed him, being the only one in their group to understand Wookie language. "Oh really, you're cold?"
Well, if the Wookie with all of his hair was cold, then Sora was slowly turning into an ice block herself. The longer they didn't move, the slower their warm blood was pumped through their bodies. Moreover, her boots weren't exactly made for Ilum's environment, causing her to loose feelings her toes.
Apparently, Finn felt the same. "C'mon, follow me. We need to go. Fast."
Wordlessly, the group of smugglers followed him, trudging through the snow. Behind them on the horizon, the laser siphon was shooting into the sky, slowly sucking the sun dry. Not much longer and the Starkiller would have gained all of its power.
It didn't take them long to enter the base. Before they knew it, they were sneaking through empty corridors with raised blasters, hoping to not encounter any enemies. Ahead of them, a door swooshed open, revealing a shocked stormtrooper. Chewie shot him before the shock could even fully register, dragging his dead body out of sight immediately. Sora doubted he was the last one they would cross paths with. How likely was it that they had cameras everywhere? Maybe more patrols were already on their way to them. She tried not to dwell on that.
Han shared her thoughts."The longer we're here, the less luck we're going to have. The shields?"
Suddenly, Finn perked up, a new plan through his mind. "I have an idea about that."
"Not sure I like that look on your face, man," Revan declared. "But whatever, I guess."
"Why, don't tell me you're never wanted to have Captain Phasma as your puppet?"
That name did elicit a reaction. Lips stretching into a smirk, Revan changed his opinion instantly. "Shiny chromehead? Oh, you should have started with that. Let's go, what are you waiting for."
Sora briefly remembered having heard that name on Atrisia two years ago. However, the Captain hadn't been actually present back then, so she had no idea whom they were about to walk into.
But Finn and Revan were already setting their plan into motion, giving orders to the rest of the group. Han wasn't quite happy with it but for the sake of the mission, he went along without complaining.
Quietly, they headed down a narrow corridor. It ended in a cross section and they pressed themselves against the wall in a row, listening and waiting. Footsteps echoed through the corridor to their right. A single pair. Easy to overtake.
Chewie got in position and mere moments later, he had his arms around a woman whose body was covered from head to toe in shiny chrome armor.
"Remember me?" Finn asked with confidence and something akin to pride.
"FN-2187," Captain Phasma answered, voice devoid of any emotion.
Shivers danced across Sora's skin. This time not because of the cold but entirely due to the woman in front of her. There was something off-putting about her. Like her presence alone could suck the life out of you. This one was worse than Hux, she decided then and there.
Speaking of him... she hadn't even thought about the fact that the General was most likely here somewhere as well. Maybe she would get another opportunity to sink her knives into him after all.
"My name's Finn. And I'm in charge now, Phasma. I'm in charge."
Sora had never seen Finn so self-assured, so sure of his abilities. Perhaps for the first time in his life, he had the upper hand.
And he wasn't finished. "Remember Revan here? Yep, he's here too. And you're gonna follow our orders this time. Follow us."
Phasma reluctantly complied, having no choice but to lead the group straight to the control access point. Multiple pair of blasters were aimed at her head as her fingers worked on the controls. The young smuggler stayed back, guarding the door in case anyone decided to wander by. She tapped one boot against the floor in a steady rhythm. There wasn't much time left. They had to hurry and find Rey. Maker knew what Kylo Ren was doing to her at the very moment.
Behind her, Phasma was taking her sweet time. "You're making a big mistake."
"Do it. Now. Or I'll blast that bucket off your head," Finn threatened, stepping even closer, blaster pressing into the helmet.
A robotic voice sounded from the workstation. "Shields disabled."
Sora didn't dare to turn around. Instead, she gripped her blaster tighter. Surely, the message must have popped up in the main base control room as well. It was only a matter of time until someone would notice and send for them. "We can't waste anymore time if we want to find Rey," she reminded her teammates. Poe and his squadrons were likely already on their way to destroy the super weapon with all of their firepower.
It was Phasma who answered. "You can't be so stupid as to think this will be easy. My troops will storm this block and kill you all."
"We'll simply kill them first," the young woman replied, sparing her a quick glance over her shoulder. "What do we do with her?"
Han was reminded of the past. They needed something worse than immediate death. Something much more sinister. "Is there a garbage chute? Trash compactor?"
*****
"You guys do know she's probably gonna survive this." Nyra pointed out as they were approaching another corridor. Phasma had called them all sorts of names when they dumped her down a garbage chute.
"Maybe. But her surrounded by all of that trash...," Finn began, motioning for them to wait by a door. It was locked from the other side. "It was worth it, no matter what happens."
"So we're gonna blast that door open?" Sora asked, glancing at the duffel bag filled with explosives Chewie was carrying. "Cause that's gonna draw attention. We could be overrun in a minute."
Finn nodded. "I'll go in and draw fire. But I'm gonna need you to cover me."
The young smuggler saw it again. He was restless, eyes everywhere but on any of them. He definitely wasn't ready for his own plan. "Finn, let me do this," she offered, taking a step forwards, blaster raised.
"No. I'll go in and find Rey. The troopers'll be on our tail. We have to be ready for that. There's an access tunnel that'll lead-"
Recognition flashed through Han's eyes, catching Sora's attention. Curiously, she followed his gaze and was not disappointed by what she saw.
There, through the window behind Finn's back, a young woman was climbing up the wall. Her white and beige attire was all too familiar for the smuggler. The corners of her lips lifted into a smile, relief flooding her body.
Rey was alive. And smart enough to have found her own escape. One less problem to worry about for the group.
"Why are you doing that? Where are you looking at? I'm trying to come up with a plan here. Hey, Sora, I thought you wanted to find Rey too, what-"
Finally, Finn turned around, sick of Han constantly nodding his head. He could hardly believe what he saw, his mouth opening and closing quickly. Chewie groaned happily, all but punching the unfortunate Revan next to him against his back in the process. The latter coughed uncontrollably in response, wincing in pain. "Really, dude? Thanks a lot," he managed to squeeze out but accepted the moaned apology by the Wookie nevertheless.
Sora sighed, feeling one weight less on her shoulders. Sure, Rey wasn't quite safe yet but she was halfway there already. Suddenly, the ground shook almost unnoticeably. No doubt, the Resistance X-Wing pilots, including Poe, were doing their job. "Let's meet up with her."
Finn didn't have to be told twice. With him and Sora at the front, the group made their way up, reaching the corridor the scavenger had climbed up to. The base was surprisingly empty. Apparently, the First Order really thought no one was crazy enough to try to bypass their shields.
Sora barely had time to stop herself from pulling the trigger when out of the blue, a blaster was pointing at her face. But when she locked eyes with Rey, both blasters were lowered immediately.
"Sora?!" It was more of a question than an observation. The scavenger couldn't believe what she was seeing.
Anchoring her blaster in the holster around her hips, the smuggler pulled her into a quick hug which was happily returned. When they had let go of each other again, Sora checked her for injuries but thankfully couldn't find any. "Are you okay?"
Still speechless, Rey simply nodded, gaze traveling to her companions. It stopped on a certain former stormtrooper who was staring at her wide-eyed. "Finn. What are you guys doing here?"
"We came back for you," Finn answered and wanted nothing more than to hug her. However, he deemed it neither the right place nor time.
"Long story short," Sora opted to elaborate. "We're with the Resistance and we're about to blow up this whole place. But how did you manage to escape Kylo Ren?"
There were tears in Rey's eyes, happy tears. Sora had never seen the scavenger express so many emotions at once. Suddenly, she was like an open book. Her longing for love was visible on her every pore. In this moment, right here, right now, Rey had realized that she didn't need her parents. That she had friends who were taking care of her.
"I can't explain it. And you wouldn't believe it either." She smiled wholeheartedly. "Thank you."
The ground shook once again, this time much more noticeable. "No time for sentiments. Let's get out of here," Revan interrupted their reunion, cutting it short.
"We'll talk later." Sora promised, squeezing Rey's hand before they retraced their steps, leaving the building and its endless grey behind.
Yet, something felt wrong. Once they had stepped back outside, snow crunching underneath their boots, they saw just how terrible their mission was going.
X-Wings were roaring across the sky, desperately dodging the brutal TIE-Fighter attacks. Missiles were fired, some hitting its mark others failing miserably. With dread and sadness, Sora noticed some starfighters were nowhere to be found. They were loosing, that much was obvious. The Starkiller Base had barely been damaged but their squadrons had already suffered too many losses. How much more could they take? She found herself exhaling softly when she spotted the familiar black X-Wing soaring up high on the horizon.
The young woman felt a pair of eyes on her and turned towards the culprit. "They're in trouble. We can't leave," Han stated, waiting for her reaction. He knew they were thinking the same.
Sora nodded, taking a peek at the duffel bag Chewie was carrying. "We're gonna make use of those explosives. We need to weaken the whole structure of the oscillator." Pointing at Nyra and Revan, she explained the plan. "You two, make sure the Falcon is ready to leave. Finn, Rey, you need to find a way to open the doors of the oscillator structure. Han, Chewie and I will place the explosives."
"Sure, Captain. Take care." Revan agreed, dragging Nyra along. The older woman gave her an encouraging smile.
"Kick their asses, alright?" Rey said, winking at Sora before she too took off with Finn.
"That's a promise," she managed to reply. It was good to have her back.
Han and his Wookie companion took her straight to a maintenance hatch leading into the structure containing the oscillator. Three stormtroopers were approaching it as well but the three smugglers made quick work with them, each easily taking down one white-armored soldier.
The hatch opened with a hissing sound, telling them Rey and Finn had done their job. No time was wasted and they barreled straight inside just as an alarm started blaring. "Not good," Sora grumbled. "We need to hurry. I'm going up, you take the lower levels. We meet back up here."
Dividing the explosives, the smugglers took off in different directions. The oscillator room was a huge cylindrical structure consisting of multiple levels from each of which you could look down onto a long catwalk in the middle, floating over a deep chasm. Darkness was everywhere, making seeing particularly hard.
Sora carefully placed the explosives on every second column on her level. Every now and then, she heard Chewie groaning whenever he had successfully placed one as well. Nothing was suspicious, until a shout echoed through the room. "Ben!" It was Han.
The young smuggler didn't have time to peek over the railing and see what was going on. Who Ben was. For there was another voice and it was much too close for her liking. The small hairs on the back of her neck stood up and a wave of anger surged through her.
"I should have known you aren't dead."
Even before she turned around, she knew who was behind her by the voice alone. Hux hadn't changed since she had last seen him. The red haired General was still sporting his black robes and his ever present sneer on his face.
Sora smirked, shrugging her shoulders. Whilst she had been kind of looking forwards to this moment, now really wasn't a good time. "I guess this means you need to train your troopers to approve their aim."
Hux scoffed, blaster aimed at her. "Well I can promise you I won't miss."
He fired.
But Sora was faster, having anticipated it. Villains never understood that less talking is the way to victory. Moving her body out of the line of fire, she too used her blaster, effectively shooting the weapon out of his hands. It flew straight over the railing, vanishing into the darkness below.
"Oh would you look at that. You missed. And I really don't have time for you right now."
Pure rage flared in Hux's eyes. Within the blink of an eye, the blaster in her hands was kicked away by his leg, the shot she had fired last minute hitting one of the columns instead. "You missed," he mocked her.
A few levels below them, someone screams. Then, a roar full of devastation.
Sora huffed, dodging another kick. His foot hitting the air instead, he fell forwards just a little bit. Enough to kick her knee straight into his abdomen. "It must hurt to know one of your own men saved me. How can you even be a General when you can't control your troops?"
She knew she had hit a soft spot. Maybe it was wrong to want to rile him up but he simply made it so easy for her. She could literally feel his blood boiling as his fist made contact with her side. The smuggler had managed to angle her body, preventing the hit from reaching her stomach. Unfortunately, that meant it hit her ribs which instantly flared in pain.
Blaster fire erupted multiple levels down but the fighting duo ignored it.
It was a petty feud going on between them and they both knew it. After all, they could have killed each other already if they had truly wanted to. The opportunities had been there and blatantly so.
Sora caught his fist before it punched against her nose. Using her free hand, she formed a fist of her own and let it barrel against his cheek. The General's head snapped to the side and he stumbled back a step. Blood slowly ran down a small cut on the pale skin. He wiped it away with his hand. "I know you can do better than that."
"Oh I could," she said, grinning as she tilted her head to the side. "But where would be the fun in that?" Another leg kick was dodged and she quickly grabbed a knife out of her holster.
Hux moved back before she could use the weapon. They were dancing around each other, waiting and accessing but never quite ready to make the first move. "You call this fun? You're nothing but an annoyance. Resistance scum now, apparently. Maybe I should congratulate you. After all this time, you're finally no longer a nobody. Tell me, how is Elijah? Is he with you too?"
The ground underneath their feet rumbled, vibrating through their bodies. The first explosion caused the whole structure to shake and she used it as a distraction to throw the knife, watching it lodge into his thigh, just like two years ago. She hadn't aimed to kill, only to slow down. And to piss him off. Actually, mainly for that reason. His comment had hit home, much more than she liked to admit.
"Till next time, Armitage," she yelled over the noise, walking backwards to watch him struggle to stand until she finally turned around and ran for the door. Hux was close, she could hear him limping behind her back. Not chasing her but simply trying to escape as well.
More explosions sounded and just as she felt the freezing air hit her skin again, she heard Hux scream at her one last time. "Till next time, Sora!"
She hadn't heard him say that name in many years.
Sprinting through the snow as fast as she could, Sora felt herself growing out of breath quickly, her ribs aching as if Hux's punch had erased the bacta effects. She had no idea whether the others had made it to the Falcon by now. The ground continued to shake and she had to avoid getting hit by falling trees and snow avalanches. Stumbling a couple of times, she managed to somehow catch herself, never forgetting that her timer was running out.
Poe and his squadron had been successful. The Resistance had won this battle. Now, all that's left to do was escape from Ilum before it would combust. Easier said than done.
Suddenly, the ground directly in front of her split into two and she threw herself back to not fall to her death. Rocks and trees broke free, falling into the deep unknown. Kriff, this was not good at all. Sora calculated she had a maximum of sixty seconds until the planet would burst into flames completely, turning into a hot, blazing sun.
The snow stuck to her clothes as she shuffled to her feet. Jumping across the gap would be impossible but she knew that the Falcon was on the other side. Her only way off this planet. She needed to come up with a plan. Fast. Comms wouldn't work down here, thanks to the signal blockers the First Order had installed. Surely, the crew was looking for her. If they had even made it this far.
Engine noises disrupted the deafening sounds of the planet splitting into pieces. Hopeful, Sora looked to the sky and saw a familiar freighter soaring across the ground, barreling through the thick forest.
And it was heading straight at her.
"C'mon Sora, you need to jump! We don't have time to land!" Revan screamed as he stood on the lowered ramp, one hand holding on tight, the other waiting to catch her.
The Falcon hovered above the trench, getting as close to her as possible. Sora risked a peek into the deep, hot chasm below, swallowing harshly as debris broke underneath the tip of her toes. She knew she could make the jump. Not like she had any other choice if she wanted to live. Carefully taking a couple steps back, she took a deep breath, getting ready to make a run for it.
"Now, Sora!"
She jumped, feeling nothing but cold air around her. Her breath hitched, the ramp suddenly seeming so much further away than it had just seconds ago. Gravity hit her hard but Revan was there to catch her, just like he had promised. His hand gripped hers, pulling her safely onto the Falcon's ramp. "I've got you."
Sora stumbled into his chest and the two of them fell backwards, landing on the hard ground of the ship. Revan took most of the fall, still holding onto her tightly, and he groaned in pain. From where her head laid on his chest, Sora watched the ground slowly growing distant as the Falcon rose higher and higher, the destruction from the explosions continuing. The ramp closed just before a wave of fire hit the Falcon and then the ship jumped into hyperspace.
"Let's not do this again," Revan grumbled.
Sora freed herself, laying back on the cold ground to catch her breath. The last traces of adrenaline were beginning to leave her system and the full details about what had just occurred were kicking in. "Agreed."
"But to be honest...it was kinda fun."
Sitting up slowly, the young smuggler glanced at him, unable to stop her lips from pulling into a smile. "Just a tiny bit."
Revan helped her to her feet, pulling her up by her hand, and dusted off some snowflakes which had clung to her jacket. "We were beginning to worry though. When Chewie came back to the Falcon alone, we thought the worst. But then we'd found Rey and Finn and then luckily, you as well."
Sora furrowed her brows, dread seeping into her bones. "What about Han?"
The ex-trooper shook his head, a somber expression on his face. "Killed by Kylo Ren."
Remembering screams and devastated Wookie groans, she put the pieces together. She could only imagine the grief Chewie was experiencing after the loss of his best friend. The mourning him and Leia were about to go through. A true legend was dead, killed by the First Order. And it was just the beginning. "What about Finn and Rey, how are they?"
Revan seemed hesitant to answer. A sign that more bad news were about to follow. "Rey is the Falcon's new pilot. Finn, however...He got a nasty cut from Kylo Ren's lightsaber. The two of them had a little quarrel with him in the forest."
He motioned for her to follow him and together they entered the Falcon's sleeping quarters. An anxious looking Nyra kneeled in front of the bed, pressing a bloodied rag against Finn's spine. The injured man was laying on his stomach on top of the blankets, his eyes closed with deep dark circles shadowing them and sweat running down his forehead.
"How bad is it?" Sora asked, leaning against the doorframe.
Nyra shook her head, worry etching across her face. "Very. He needs a bacta suit soon. The wound is pretty deep and I'm not sure if it damaged his spine. He won't wake up either."
The young smuggler bit her cheek in concern. "We'll better comm the base and have them prepare the medical equipment. I'll go do it."
When she entered the cockpit, her first instinct was to lay a hand atop of Chewie's shoulder, squeezing it gently. "I'm sorry for your loss. If you ever need someone to vent your feelings to, I'll be there."
The Wookie groaned painfully, mourning his loss but showing appreciation at her comment.
"Sora, what happened? We thought you'd already left but the we couldn't find you. I'm sorry that we didn't make sure you-"
"Hey Rey, it's fine. I'm okay, no need to worry about the past," she tried to calm her down. Whenever the scavenger was anxious, she tended to talk waterfalls. It had been her job to stop Rey from spiraling down that hole ever since they got to know each other.
Rey smiled apologetically and went back to concentrate on piloting the Falcon.
"How long until we'll land on D'Qar?"
"Approximately two hours."
Sora bit her lip. Too long. She wasn't sure Finn would survive the journey. "Chewie, can you get me on line with D'Qar's communications tower?"
The Wookie groaned in agreement and got to work instantly. The Resistance used a secret communication channel and thankfully, the Falcon had access to it. Only seconds passed until the channel crackled to life. "Falcon to Base, we have an important matter."
The female voice she had heard on the Phoenix as well answered. "It's nice to hear from you, Falcon. What do you need?"
"We need to have a bacta suit prepared and medics waiting for us on the landing bay. It's a serious lightsaber wound. We'll approach the planet in two hours."
"I'll report it to the General. Have a safe journey." The line went dead again. Everything else had to be discussed on ground.
Sora sighed, plopping down on the seat behind Chewie. She leaned her head back and closed her eyes. A quick nap couldn't hurt. Perhaps it would even stop the stabbing pain of her ribs again. She doubted they were fully broken again, but the fresh hit had definitely slowed down the bacta healing process.
"Sora, what happened to you at the oscillator?"
"Had a little chat with a certain General." A faked nonchalance.
Fast as lightening, Rey turned in her seat, staring at her with wide eyes. "You're not talking about him, are you?"
"Yes, him. And I let him get away again," she whispered, still loud enough for both the co-pilot and the pilot to hear.
Whilst Chewie groaned in confusion, not understanding a single thing, Rey clicked her tongue. "I did tell you that would happen. You're not a murderer. Not like that at least. Besides, he let you go too."
"He did."
"It's a pretty strange game you two have going on for....for how long now?"
Sora replied without hesitation. "Nine years."
"That's a long time." Knowing this conversation had already lasted longer than her friend liked, Rey put her focus on navigating the ship again. "You know, don't feel guilty for not killing him, despite of what he's part of. Think about who he is to you. Who he was to you. That's all that matters here."
Sora appreciated her advice a lot. Kriff, she had truly missed Rey. Neither the scavenger nor her were fond of 'girl talk', yet it was nice to have someone to vent your feelings to. Someone who knew all about you, maybe even better than you know yourself.
"Care to tell me how you managed your grand escape?" The smuggler probed carefully, diverting the conversation to another important topic. In front of her, Chewie sat up straighter, seemingly wanting to know the answer as well.
Rey hesitated, trying to find the right words. "It's...I don't even understand it either. Kylo Ren, he was in my head. I was strapped into this chair but when he left me alone with that stormtrooper, I...I was able to manipulate him. I made him free my restraints with my mind. With...the Force."
To say Sora was shocked was an understatement. Rey was force-sensitive. Had been all of her life and never noticed it. "Whoa, that's...impressive actually. I bet with the proper training, you could accomplish great things. Maybe even become a Jedi." Being force-sensitive didn't mean you'd automatically have to be a Jedi. But Sora could definitely see her friend as one. Rey was strong, full of light and determined.
"But who could train me? There's no Jedi left alive."
"You know there is," Sora looked at her pointedly. "And we have one half of the map to find him already. Luke Skywalker."
At the mention of that name, Chewie visibly perked up. So did Rey. But the conversation was over. There was a lot the scavenger had to come to terms with and she had to do it on her own. So the cockpit was engulfed in silence once again, with Chewie mourning in peace and the two women deep in their thoughts. One was lost somewhere in the past, the other in the future.
Sora must have fallen asleep. As the ship jumped out of hyperspace, her eyes blinked open again. Ahead of them, the now familiar green planet of D'Qar rotated slowly.
"Hey sleepyhead, we're about to land," Rey said, sending her a quick smile before she started the landing process.
The young smuggler nodded, watching the Resistance base grow closer through the window. Rey was a great pilot, all thanks to her flight simulator back on Jakku. Therefore, the Falcon landed without any disturbances and the trio was up and about in a matter of seconds. They met up with Nyra and Revan and waited patiently as the ship's ramp was lowered to the ground.
Warm sunlight welcomed the group, a much appreciated change compared to the ice planet Ilum. As promised, a team of medics with a stretcher rushed towards them and Nyra and Revan made it their job to help them transporting Finn to the makeshift hospital. His heart hadn't stopped beating which was a good sign.
A teary eyed Rey jogged straight towards Leia who had been standing by the Falcon, smiling sadly at them. She tried hard to hide her grief but anyone who knew how much Han truly meant to her could see right through her facade.
However, it did confuse her when she sought comfort in Rey instead of in Chewie. He clearly needed a hug, specifically from Leia, his now closest friend. And wasn't this the first time her scavenger friend and the General were meeting each other? Was this sudden connection a force thing? Anyways, Sora felt sad for the gentle Wookie who, at the sight of the two women hugging, disappeared back into the Falcon. The thought of following flashed through her mind briefly, but she knew he wasn't seeking her comfort. After all, they barely knew each other. Maybe some alone time was exactly what he needed now.
Happy beeps caught her attention and her eyes moved past Leia and Rey to follow the sound. A small astromech was moving straight at her, going on maximum speed. "Whoa, slow down buddy." The droid came crashing into her shins as soon as she had finished her sentence, mindful enough to slow down so it wouldn't hurt her.
Sora crouched down, affectionally stroking his dome head. "I'm happy to see you too, BeeBee-Ate. Did everything go down well?"
More exciting chirps followed and then the droid got lost in his tale, explaining every little detail about what had occurred up in the air. Sora took in as much as she could, listening intently and making sure to make a comment every now and then.
"Hey BeeBee-Ate, don't hog her. I want Sora-time too."
At the sound of his voice, Sora looked up instantly. Poe was grinning from ear to ear, his arms stretched to both sides. He was waiting for her to move with a raised eyebrow. She scoffed, chuckling at his antics but accepted his invite nevertheless. The pilot pulled her closer and wrapped his arms around her, swaying their bodies from side to side. Kriff, she hadn't even known she needed this hug until now.
Sora pressed her ear against his chest, listening to his heartbeat. It was definitely faster than it should be, she noticed. Poe felt incredibly warm and the memories of snow and ice melted away. She didn't care that he was sweaty and in need of a shower. His hand tingled inside her waves, loosening the knots in slow, gentle strokes.
"I'm glad you're okay, princess," he whispered. This little moment was meant just for them. Anyone else around them was busy celebrating their win against the First Order.
"Yeah, me too." Her reply was just as quiet. Eyes closing in relaxation, she put more of her weight against him and Poe wordlessly accepted it, tightening his hold around her. They basked in each others embrace for a while, enjoying the silence.
But it wasn't long before the pilot initiated conversation again, seeking answers. "What happened down there?"
Sora hummed softly. "The usual. Lots of sneaking, lots of fighting. Trash chutes. Which are very useful by the way, for all kinds of trash. Explosions. And lots of snow."
Poe chuckled, the vibrations of it tickling her ear. "Sounds fun. Any injuries I should know about?"
"Just some sore ribs. And my toes are all tingly, so I might have frostbite, who knows."
"Well, we can't have that now, can we?" Poe mumbled, loosening the hug to look into her eyes instead. He smiled at her and delicately lifted his finger, letting it glide over the smooth skin of her cheek to push a strand of hair out of her face. "Let's get you inside then. A hot shower solves everything, right."
She smiled and found herself liking the proximity. "You know, BeeBee-Ate told me everything. You did well. Guess you really are the best pilot in the Resistance."
"Of course I am. But I'm happy you finally accepted the truth. Now, c'mon." Poe put his arm over her shoulders, leading her down into the base. They didn't linger to talk to people, making a beeline for the sleeping quarters.
The unspoken rule of not mentioning their losses and near-losses today wasn't broken. Neither of them wanted to dwell on the sadness, so they buried it for now.
The duo stopped in front of the door to Sora's room and she was quick to type in the four digits to open it. Poe followed her inside but kept standing close to the door, watching her taking off the heavy jacket. "There's a meeting in about an hour. Think you'll be all warmed up by then? You know, I happen to know a method that could be very helpful...," he joked and grinned, crossing his arms over his chest.
Sora rolled her eyes playfully, stepping out of her wet boots. "Then we'd definitely miss the meeting. Now, out you go."
"You're right. We'd miss the whole day," Poe stated, the grin never leaving his face. He lifted his finger, pointing it at her accusingly. "Don't forget we have a date tonight, princess." The pilot was gone before she could reply.
As if she would ever forget that.
A hot shower, a pair of fresh black leggings and a white cropped long sleeved sweatshirt later, Sora entered the conference room. The most important Resistance members had gathered around the round hologram table in the middle and were already deep in discussion. Wordlessly, Sora tip toed towards Revan and Nyra who had opted to keep to the shadows.
Nyra threw an arm over her shoulder, pulling her body into her side. "I'm bored. Why do we have to be here?" She whispered, making sure no one else would hear them.
"I'm not a fan either. But let's get this done with."
An R2-series astromech droid she hadn't noticed until now projected a hologram for them to see. It was a navigational map with a specific piece missing. Could this be the second half of the map leading to Luke Skywalker? So the droid was Artoo-Detoo then, she concluded.
BeeBee-Ate's reaction confirmed it. He chirped excitedly, motioning for Poe to assist him. "Yeah alright, buddy, hold one." Sora watched as he removed an ancient data device from one of the computers and inserted it back inside of his little droid. A second later, another hologram map appeared and the two astromechs moved slightly to unite them.
"Oh! The map! It's complete," See-Threepio announced gleefully.
"Luke...," Leia mumbled, putting her hand on her chest, directly above her heart.
The reaction was immediate. The room erupted in cheers and hugs were shared all around them. Revan pulled the two women next to him into his chest, squeezing them harder than necessary. "Great news. Really, awesome. But do you think they celebrate with booze here? Preferably strong one?"
Nyra slapped his chest lightly. "No booze for you this time! Remember what happened last time?"
Revan grimaced, shaking his head as if that would help him get rid of the memories. "Maybe you're right. No booze. I'm still forbidden from entering the kitchen," he nodded.
Sora wasn't sure she wanted to know any details about what had happened. Better to keep those imagines far away from her.
Thankfully, Rey was there to save her. With a big smile on her face, the scavenger gave her a quick hug before she motioned for Sora to follow her into the empty corridor outside the room.
They walked a small distance until they stopped in a random corner. "Do you think I should do it?"
The smuggler instantly knew what she was talking about. Although it pained her to see Rey go once again, she knew it was necessary. Besides, they would see each other again soon. "I think there is no-one more suited for this than you, Rey. You need to learn how to handle your new abilities. Luke Skywalker is the only one who can help you. And you're the only one capable of bringing him back."
Rey seemed to ponder over her response, shifting on her feet as if nervous. Then, she took a deep breath. "You're right. I have to do this," she said, sounding much more confident than before. "Thanks, Sora. You know I love you, right?"
"Aw, I love you too, Rey," the smuggler laughed, giving her one last quick hug. "Just be careful."
"You too, alright? Oh, and Doctor Kalonia wants to talk to you. Said it's urgent."
"Well, I'll better go then." They shared a last meaningful look before each took off into a different direction.
Confusion laced her features as she pushed open the doors to the infirmary. The kind doctor was already waiting for her, smiling kindly. "Miss Park, I have good news."
"Go ahead," she said, leaning against a table.
"I've talked to General Organa about our dwindling medical supplies. She agrees that it would be wise to send your Team to aquire more," Doctor Kalonia explained and handed her a data pad. On it was a detailed list of supplies they desperately needed. "However, seeing as our budget is very low, we need to do this your way."
Lips pulling into a smile, Sora already felt excitement running through her veins. "So, permission to steal from a First Order base?"
The female doctor chuckled. "Yes, Miss Park. But don't take this mission lightly. It's dangerous and requires lots of planning ahead of it. The General trusts you with this."
"Oh, sounds like an everyday job to me. There's nothing to worry about." Holding up the data pad, she nodded towards the door. "I'll better get to work then."
She was already halfway through the door when a thought occurred to her, causing her to stop in her tracks and look back. "How is Finn? Will he be okay?"
"He is in a coma. We don't know when he will wake up," Doctor Kalonia explained lowly, a look of concern flashing over her face. "If he will wake up at all. I'm sorry."
A wave of sadness hit her hard. The brave stormtrooper who had defied everything he had known to save her and Poe. Who had given up his life in order to find a new one. No, she was sure he would survive this. Finn was a lot stronger than that.
The doors closed behind her. Now, it was time to prepare their next mission. Oh, and her date, of course.

Written for Fictober 2023!
Fandom: Star Wars
Day 26 Prompt: "Honestly, why would I care?"
Summary: Finn's not the first member of the First Order to defect, although he is the first Storm Trooper. An unexpected happy reunion comes when he first lands on a Resistance base.
Word Count: 1,475
Category: Fluff, maybe a tiny bit of angst?
A/N: Disclaimer, I have not seen the Force Awakens in literal years
Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
"The Millennium Falcon just landed outside!"
"General Solo is on it, from the Rebellion!"
"It's got an ex-Storm Trooper on it!"
The shouts of my fellow Resistance members echoed around me as they shouted and gossiped about the recent touchdown of a ship. I wove my way through the crowd, keeping one hand on my blaster. I needed to be ready.
A few years ago, I'd been part of the First Order. More than that, I'd been responsible for training the Storm Troopers we took from birth, helping indoctrinate them into the system. I'd been younger or the same age as most of them, and watching them go off to die in a pointless war had jump started my realization that we were the bad guys.
Once the realization had fully settled in, I'd up and left without looking back. I found the Resistance through my now best friend Poe Dameron, and I'd had a lot of valuable information to share with them. I'd been here for almost four years now, and not once had I seen a Storm Trooper defect. So, when I heard everyone whispering in the hallways about one stepping on base, I went into immediate red alert.
I made it out to the tarmac and immediately I noticed the Falcon. The ship was impossible to miss. I quickly scanned the crowd between me and the ship, and my best friend's signature jacket jumped out at me amidst everything else. But Poe had lost that jacket on Jakku in the process of his escape from the First Order.
The guy with Poe's jacket had his back to me, but as I approached, he turned around. I froze in my tracks, my mouth dropping open a little.
FN-2187 stared back at me. I barely remembered most of the people who'd come through the ranks of the First Order under my training. They all blurred together, and the guilt over everything I'd done to uphold the dictatorship was too much for me to look back on all I'd done with any kind of regularity. But I knew the man standing a few yards from me, beyond a shadow of a doubt. I'd know him anywhere.
He was one of the first people I'd been completely responsible for training without supervision, when I was around the same age as the classes I trained. He'd been the first one I'd ever felt a connection with, the first one I'd ever let myself get close to. We'd been friendly, we'd been supportive and understanding of each others' mistakes despite the First Order trying to make us be anything but. Before Poe, he'd been the closest I'd ever come to a best friend.
Unfortunately for both of us, the First Order had noticed how close we'd been getting. We'd been ripped apart immediately, and I learned quickly not to get attached to any more of my trainees. I'd never seen my friend again.
Until now. Now, we were face to face again, on a Resistance base free from the reach of the First Order. The side of my mouth quirked up in a small smile, he beamed back at me, and that was all it took to have me running across the tarmac to him.
I jumped up and wrapped him in a tackle-hug, which he quickly returned. He wrapped his arms around me tight and spun me around, then buried his face in my neck as we came to a stop. I squeezed him tight, not wanting to let go lest this all turn out to be a dream. From the way he held me, I could tell he felt the same.
"Is this real?" he breathed. I huffed a hysterical laugh, a few tears sliding down my face.
"I sure hope so."
If both of us had had our way, I don't think either of us would've moved again for at least a few hours. But a certain pilot popped into my line of sight, a confused look on his face.
"Do you and Finn... know each other?"
"Finn!" I said, breathlessly happy as I pulled back to smile at the former Storm Trooper. "That's a great name."
"I think so too," he said, matching my smile. "Poe gave it to me."
I looked at Poe. He still seemed a little confused, but he had a proud look on his face all the same.
"You're really the top recruiter of defectors, aren't you?" I mused. He shot me a wink.
"Don't you forget it. Now come on, we have a fascist dictatorship to take down."
Finn and I shared a smile as Poe headed off into the crowd of the base. I sighed.
"We probably should follow him, huh?"
"I guess so. How long have you been here, though?"
"A few years," I replied. Finn looked shocked, so I continued. "I... couldn't stand watching the people I'd trained go off and die, killing a bunch of people in the process."
Finn nodded, sagging a little, shoulders slumping as he looked away for the first time since we'd found each other. I nudged him with my arm, suddenly insanely worried about him.
"Hey. What's wrong?" I asked, trying to keep my tone light. He huffed a humorless laugh and shook his head.
"It's nothing. It's just... I can't believe you've been here for so long. It took you a lot less time to realize how wrong we were than it took me."
My eyes went wide, shock nearly rocking me off my feet at his revelation. I quickly grabbed his shoulders and turned him to face me.
"Finn! Are you kidding me? I understand the guilt over our past, seriously, I do. But the fact that it took you a little longer than it took me means nothing. You were literally brainwashed from birth, something I was a part of! I didn't have that excuse, and I still served them for years."
Finn didn't look totally convinced, although his posture wasn't quite as slumped as before. I continued.
"Finn, I spent years convincing myself not to leave. I convinced myself not to care. Honestly, why would I care? It was all part of a righteous cause, canon fodder being expended killing bad guys trying to take down the government." I shook my head at myself in disgust. The fact that I'd ever believed that nonsense, that damaging propaganda, would haunt me for the rest of my life. Finn let his hand rest on my waist, giving it a gentle squeeze to comfort me, and I took a deep breath before continuing. "The realization that I was on the wrong side started long before I left, and I'll always regret the extra damage I did to the galaxy before listening to what I knew was right.
"But Finn, I went through all that as someone who grew up with a family, in school, with some varied viewpoints, although not many. You were told from birth that the First Order's morals, politics, and methods of enforcement were the one and only right way from almost the day you were born. And still you came to your own, different conclusion and left those sons of bitches behind, because you are that good of a person, Finn. That's... amazing."
I'd caught myself rambling, saying more than I'd maybe initially intended to, but I couldn't bring myself to regret it. I loved Finn, and the last thing I wanted was for him to put himself through any more pain than he'd already survived.
Finn laughed, a disbelieving sound, and the smile he gave me felt as bright and warm as the sun. I wasn't sure what I expected him to say, but I got a pleasant surprise when he finally did speak up.
"...Can I kiss you?"
"Hell yes."
We shared a beaming, happy smile, our first free smile, and then Finn leaned down and kissed me. He wrapped his arms around my waist again, pulling me to him as I wrapped my arms around his neck, kissing in the middle of the runway without a care in the world who saw us. It didn't matter who saw us now. No one here would exploit us, or use one of us to hurt the other. We were free, together.
"Hey! I'm happy to see my two best friends making out and all, but we actually have things to do today, remember?"
Finn and I broke apart reluctantly, still smiling even as we turned to Poe, the interruption. He was right, unfortunately. In order to take the First Order down for good, to free the rest of the galaxy, we had a lot of work to do. But it didn't seem quite as daunting now that I had Finn.

My thoughts on Adam Driver's interview on Bendemption/Dyad/Reylo not being planned.
As much as I love Reylo, I honestly would've preferred Supreme Leader Kylo Ren as the big bad of the sequel trilogy.
And honestly? The vibe I got with Rian is he still intended for Kylo Ren to go down the path of the big bad. It was the studio who chose for the result we got because they saw how big the Reylo fandom got, but wanted to appease all sides, hence the stupid result we got.
A part of me feels like the entire trilogy was building up Kylo Ren as the villain. If it were his destiny to abandon the dark side and The First Order, he would have either joined Rey or left in exile and eventually return and join Rey to end the war together. But that didn’t happen. Trust me I wanted that to happen, I wanted Rey to convince Ben to stop the fleet, take her hand and come home and while Rey flies the Falcon, Ben goes to Luke and Leia to make amends. Then Luke and Ben together would stop The First Order on Crait.
But here’s why I think TLJ was setting up Kylo Ren as the villain. In TFA, Kylo Ren killed Han Solo, but did not yet fully embrace the dark side. The deed split his spirit to the bone, which made him unbalanced and conflicted. He was so conflicted that in TLJ, he was unable to pull the trigger to kill his mother. At this point, he still felt a call to the light. Also, in ROTJ, Palpatine said to Luke, “Strike me down with all of your hatred, and your journey toward the dark side will be complete”. While Luke resisted temptation, Kylo Ren did not. When faced with the opportunity to kill Snoke, he didn’t hesitate. I see him turning the lightsaber to strike true. And now, foolish child. He ignites it, and kills his true enemy! At this moment, his journey towards the Dark Side is complete. Then, after the fight against the Praetorian Guards, Kylo Ren was given a chance by Rey to be redeemed. However, he went straight for the throne. He went straight for power. Even during the Battle Of Crait, knowing very well that Leia was probably in the base, Kylo still gave the command to take no prisoners. He was now willing to kill his mother and even ordered that the Falcon be shot out of the sky with both Rey and Chewie on board. He killed Han and Snoke. He was willing to kill Leia, and he indirectly caused Luke’s death. From this point of view, Kylo Ren has fully cemented himself in the dark side and it was a shame we could not continue this path and a shame they just HAD TO bring back Palpatine.
To me Kylo Ren is what Vader could've been had he reached his full potential. A Vader who was never wounded on Mustafar, a Vader who killed a close family member and his master. He is the villain they were looking for, but no they had to course correct.
Now yes, it would've been sad that Ben dying unredeemed as much as Ben dying after being redeemed. My suggestion is if villain Kylo happens, we could either get the following
Ben lets the light in and surrenders to Rey and does what he should've done and call off the fleet. Ben makes peace with Leia and it ends with The First Order and Resistance signing a peace treaty, while also symbolizing the balance in the force and peace in the Skywalker family
Exile. After embracing the light and doing the right thing, Ben knows he cannot live the life his family wanted for him. He cannot live a peaceful life with Rey after everything he's done, so Ben goes into exile on Ach-To or Jakku to repent for the life he lived.
Atonement. Basically what should've happened in TROS. Ben lives and has to separate from Rey. He takes the Falcon and goes to snuff out First Order holdouts and releases the systems that was conquered in his name. To make things right and the movie ends with Ben walking off into the sunset like an old Spaghetti Western like ROTJ was originally meant to end.
Paying for his crimes. Kylo Ren refuses to let the light in and gives into the dark side fully. But Rey won't kill him, not after promising Leia. So Rey would disarm Ben, destroy his lightsaber and sever Ben's connection to the force. So he cannot harm anyone ever again. The war is over.
The First Order would be put on trial. Kylo Ren, Hux and Phasma(ideally she lives and faces punishment) would be put on a Nuremberg styled trial as they are tried as War Criminals. Just the thought of the FO leadership facing a Space Nuremberg tribunal is too fun to think about. Just imagine Ren, Phasma & Hux backstabbing and shit-talking each other in jail. Then we see the people who are the victims of their atrocities. Finn and the various Stormtroopers who were forced as children to kill for them. Eila and Kel from SW Resistance tells everyone exactly what Kylo did to their home planet of Tehar. Kazuda Xiono and the rest of the Hosnian Prime survivors will voice heartbreak and outrage for what Hux did, while Hux reminds everyone “I am not alone to blame, Supreme Leader Ren was there as I voiced the plan to Snoke, he did not object and stood by and watched from a distance and did nothing he is just as guilty.” Both Poe and Finn will come forth as witnesses to the massacre of Tuanul. Rey will then come to Finn and stand as witness to the murder of Han Solo. Rose will voice what the First Order did to her home and how Hux confirmed it when she was aboard the Supremacy. R2-D2 will come forth showing the footage of the Jedi massacre. Rey and Poe will come forth and say they were victims of torture by his use of the force and Rey then say “I gave him the chance to turn his back on the FO and save the Resistance twice, to save his mother and he still chose to let everyone die and he almost succeeded on Crait. and still gave the order to wage war until the very last man” Literally everything is stacked against them and finally, Kylo, Phasma and Hux will get their say. Phasma will be unapologetic for her actions. “I grew up on a hellhole. Each day clawing my way to stay alive. I killed my own family. Went from clan to clan. Then one day The First Order came. I saw my opportunity and I chose them. I saw power, strength, order and unity. And I did what I had to do to get to where I am today. I do not regret what I’ve done in the name of The FIrst Order or rescuing children and forging them into an army the likes of which this galaxy has never seen.” Phasma then looks at Finn and her former Stormtroopers. “Only you chose disobedience and cowardice instead of greatness. I don’t regret it. That’s the difference between us. I know what I am, and I embrace it. I’m proud of it. I fought for everything that I have, every bit of what I am.” Hux will go on a Nazi like rant, saying the New Republic was a lawless and corrupt state that usurped it’s rightful government and it deserved to die! He shows absolutely no remorse whatsoever, only pride. “WE COULD HAVE DESTROYED THE LOATHSOME RESISTANCE, IF ONLY OUR SUPREME LEADER DID NOT LET HIS PATHETIC EMOTIONS CLOUD HIS JUDGEMENT!” Hux will say “LONG LIVE THE FIRST ORDER!” and does his salute and expects his former men to do the same, only the former Stormtroopers doesn’t do anything but look down in shame. Kylo Ren will show just as little care or empathy for his actions. Basically he will say the galaxy fell without Imperial rule. Without the example of Darth Vader. He will dare claim “I became a stronger Vader, one not held back by sentiment or compassion. I killed the past and became better for it. I was abandoned by everyone, but came back to burn everything down. I do not apologize for ANYTHING I DID! I AM PROUD OF IT. I AM THE SUPREME LEADER AND MASTER OF THE KNIGHTS OF REN, WHERE WOULD YOU BE WITHOUT ME OR THE FIRST ORDER? A CORRUPT GOVERNMENT THAT ALLOWED SLAVERY AND A LAWLESS GALAXY? WE BROUGHT ORDER BACK TO THE GALAXY! I UNITED YOU AGAINST ME AND YOU BECAME STRONGER FOR IT! YOU ALL NEEDED ME! WHERE WOULD ANY OF YOU BE WITHOUT ME? Do what you will, I know what we did was right.”
WIth that, The First Order Triumvirate is sentenced for life in prison. Phasma still looking as the sole survivor. Hux uttering threats. In one final moment, Kylo Ren would be taunting Leia and Rey. Goading them all to sentence them all to be killed by a firing squad. Leia turns away with Poe wrapping an arm around her, Finn & Rey supporting her.
Even though I ship Reylo and love what Ben Solo could've been. Even I understand that in the context of no redemption, dyad or Reylo existing. Kylo Ren ending the trilogy as a disgraced and jailed war criminal seems to be the only realistic solution the more I think about it. Leia doesn’t lose her son but he faces consequences for his crimes. He absolutely must face the consequences of his actions and spend the rest of his life imprisoned for crimes against the galaxy and the Republic. Kylo Ren does not get to have a happy ending. He stood by as Hosnian Prime was wiped out, he killed Han, Luke and wanted to kill Leia, Finn and Rey and countless other atrocities. He chose his path and he has to live with the consequences of his actions.
But overall I'm glad we got Bendemption and Reylo, even if it ended poorly, but ultimately I recognize Carrie Fisher’s death radically affected the plot of Ep IX for better or for worse.

Armitage: "Wake up, rebel scum!"
Poe (waking up): "Oh, I'm so glad! It was all just a dream! I'm still on the Finalizer! ... No, wait, my arms are free..."
Looking up, Poe also spots Armitage's turquoise pendant, that the General hadn't yet worn back at Jakku. And neither had the pilot known Hux' first name or had Finn went by a name at all. Yet those names are clearly edged into Poe’s mind, and in special places, too.
Poe: "Oh, shit. No such luck, after all."
Still on Ryloth. Still very nearly having killed each other and Rose. Over a flirt. Granted, having parttaken of Colonel Cahill's fiendishly strong wine had led to the fight, but the underlying conflict had long been brewing.
Tumblr media
Armitage: "You sure love yourself a First Order man, ey? Should we get Ben here, too?"
Poe: "Can we pretend you're still your pre-defection selves and then you kill me quickly?"
Tumblr media
Finn: "Poe... At least look at us! Please!"
Tumblr media
Finn: "Please?"
Poe: "Goodness, Finn, I don't know what to... How mad exactly are you at me now?"
Finn: "How could I be mad at YOU, when I started this mess?"
Tumblr media
Poe: "Because you were merely intoxicated. Me, I was selfish. I wanted to have my cake and eat it. See, ever since we left Batuu, I harbored feelings for both of you.”
Armitage: *tickle, tickle*
Poe: “Noooo... you’re only making it worse... now I want you to go on...”
Tumblr media
Poe: "I was so relieved when you got arrested and were finally out of my life. It was finally over! I could be the boyfriend my Finn deserves! But then you returned and it all started anew. That’s why I said I hated you “for existing”.”
Finn: "And you thought I never noticed you flirting with Armitage? Poe, dearest, I hate to break to to you, but between us you are not the brains."
Tumblr media
Poe: "Yeah, it showed! Everything came crashing down, when you flirted with each other, leaving me with nothing.
I freaked out. I already pictured you two getting married! And I saw myself all alone, having lost everything. Just because I couldn’t choose."
Armitage "But we have chosen, while you slept. We decided that we will to be together..."
Poe: "Yeah. I figured you would."
Tumblr media
Finn: "...with you, idiot!"
Poe: "Wh...at?"
Armitage: "As long as everything around us is utter chaos, we agreed to share you.”
Poe: “So you are interested...? Really?”
Armitage: “Quite honestly, I am a fish out the water in this team. I could focus much better if at least that “will we or won’t we” wasn’t nagging at me anymore, what ultimately would benefit the mission.”
Finn: “But with that kind of arrangement, things may happen between me and Armitage, too. It’s not very likely, but possible. You need to be aware of that.”
Armitage: “And when the war is over, we’ll re-evaluate the situation.”
Poe: “How romantic...”
Finn: "The only way out of this madness.”
Armitage: "Fair?"
Poe: *nods*

Of Birds and Hounds
Chapter Four
Tumblr media
Yanking the velvet comforter back onto her lower body, she debated on whether or not she should crawl out of bed and use the ‘fresher. She felt sticky and was sure that she reeked of sex. Although she didn’t think her Master would mind her in her current state, she didn’t want to stay this way. Ever since leaving Jakku, she has made a point of never going too long without a proper turboshower.
Willing her aching body to move, she only made it as far as the edge of the bed before hearing an electric buzz coming from the chamber door.
Sucking in a sharp breath, Rey froze in place as her mind went on high alert. Who would be coming to the Emperor’s door at such an hour? Everyone knew he was never to be disturbed in his chambers until the sun had set and he had broken his fast. And besides, anyone of importance would already know he was far from here in the belly of the castle.
Surely they weren’t looking for her, no one knew she was here. At least she hoped not.

velcinta obviously and #23 things you said [with too many missiles between us] as that’s how my tired brain misread #15
I appreciate you going the one route I couldn't have prepared for lol. Alright let's see where this goes...
-
Of all the ways Vel has thought she'd die over the years, she never imagined it'd be in an X-wing. Much less in an X-wing over a desolate planet in what is almost definitely the last battle of the war against the Empire.
She scoffs ironically as she rights her fighter after a roll, trying not to look down at the sea of sand on the surface of Jakku. It would be just her luck to come all this way only to die now, after volunteering to hop in one of the two remaining ships without pilots when the call went out for all hands on deck. Cinta, of course, had taken the other.
They'd both flown enough over the years to feel confident in their skills, but she thinks now that it might have been an unfortunate mistake. Some of the best pilots in the New Republic are being shot down by the swarm of TIE fighters in the sky, and she and Cinta are far from being on their level. If they make it out of this, it'll be the biggest miracle of all the many they've been lucky enough to receive in the years they've been at this fight.
Their luck might be out, though, Vel realizes as the Imperial star destroyer they've gotten too close to fires a salvo from its ventral cannon.
"Fuck! Cinta, you've got missiles on your tail, take evasive!"
Cinta puts Vel's cursing to shame as she tries everything she can to evade the two angry projectiles intent on blowing her out of the sky. Vel calls out over the comms for backup, but everyone else in the air is already occupied.
Panic sets in and Vel's heart feels like it's going beat so hard it'll stop completely, even as Cinta pulls a slick move that causes the first missile to explode against a passing TIE instead of her own hull.
Still, she can't shake the second one, and Vel can't seem to calm herself enough to lock onto it with her targeting computer.
"Just hang on, I'll go get help," she offers desperately, but Cinta's voice comes back in her ears immediately, rock steady, as it always is.
"Vel."
"Yes?"
Cinta pauses. The missile closes in. This time her voice shakes slightly.
"Don't leave me alone."
In an instant, Vel recalls all the times Cinta has made the same request, and all the times she didn't need to. She never asked much of Vel in all the time they were together, only what she needed.
Only to not be left alone in the galaxy without anyone to love her.
"Never, love." She makes the promise in the same moment she gets a lock on her targeting computer, almost as if guided by some unseen hand. Some force. The last missile explodes harmlessly. "Never."
