Choose 4 6 of your favourite TV Shows: You should try this out too...
1. Sherlock

The first character I fell in love with:
Sherlock Holmes
Stiles Stilinski

Alex Russo
Klaus Mikaelsson

Mycroft Holmes
Derek Hale (I was really suspicious in the beginning but now he is one of my fave characters)
Ace
Castiel (I LOVE HIM SOO MUCH)
Justin Russo
Freya Mikaelson (I was worried she would be evil at first)
The character everyone else loves that I hate:
Mary Morsten (John deserved better from the beginning)
Cora was kind of annoying
I don't have one .. yet
I think some people agree with me - Mary Winchester
I don’t have one
I don’t hate him but Vincent could be so frustrating
The character everyone else hates that I love:
I don’t have one
Deucalion turned out to be pretty good character - even as a villain
I actually really like Amanda Bobbsey - she’s so sweet. (I just don’t want her as Ace’s girlfriend)
Lucifer - He’s just misunderstood (lots of people agree to with me to)
I don’t have one
I actually wanted Finn Mikaelson to come back
The character I would have sex with:
Sherlock is hot
All the guys on teen wolf- Stiles, Derek, Scott, Isaac, Theo, Liam …..
Ace - I know he would be so sweet
Dean Winchester and Castiel are at the top of my list but if I was being real … all of them
None but only cause I think of them as eternally young
All the Mikaelson men and Marcel and Jackson but first things first Klaus
Who are your five favourite characters (In order):
Sherlock, John, Mycroft, Mrs Hudson, Lestrade
Stiles, Scott, Derek, Coach, Lydia
The Drew Crew- Nancy , Ace, George, Bess, Nick (In order)
Dean, Castiel, Sam, Crowley, Bobby

Favourite minor character:
Mycroft (does he count?)
Coach - THE FUNNIEST GUY EVER and all of the parents
Ryan Hudson- I want to see his relationship with Nancy grow
Charlie- I miss her so much
Mr Laritate
Hope Mikaelson
A pairing that you love (Romantic and Non- Romantic):
I love Sherlock and John but I really want more Sherlock and Mycroft (the brothers are so cute)
Stiles and Derek- They are hilarious!!!
Ace and Nancy - Nace supremacy
Sam and Dean are the centre of everything but I love Dean and Cas too
Alex and Harper- the besties
Klaus and Hope - he loves her unconditionally
Favourite season:
Sherlock- Season 3
Teen Wolf- Season 3
Nancy Drew- Season 2
Supernatural- Season 4 and 5
Wizards of Waverly Place- Season 4
The Originals - Season 1
Favourite episode:
Season 3 episode 1 - The Empty House
Season 3 episode 18 - Riddled
Season 1 episode 17 - The Girl in the Locket
Season 4 episode 18 - The Monster at the End of This Book
Season 4 episode 21 - Wizards of Apartment 13B
Season 1 episode 21 - From a Cradle to a Grave
Character you would kill off:
Molly - its not that I don’t love her but she’s not essential to the story
Baeden - Sterek needs to happen
Carson Drew - It would be interesting to see how Nancy would handle losing both of her parents
Sam and Dean should have been together in death and life
Professor Krumbs - It would parallel the Harry Potter series with Dumbledore
Marcel should have died for a short time and then resurrected - Klaus would realise how much he loved him
The character that I think the show ruined:
John Watson - He wasn’t ruined AT ALL but he was less impressed by Sherlock as the seasons went on
Kira Yukimura- She deserved better
Nick (Ned Nickerson) - only because he’s really different to his book counterpart but I don’t hate him
Crowley - He didn’t deserve to die at all
Mason - I don’t think it was in character for him to ‘cheat’ on Alex - he loved her
Hope Mikaelson - she contributed to the death of her mother
The most attractive male and female character:
Male: Shelock Female: None (I don’t remember)
Male: Derek Hale Female: Lydia Martin
Male: Ace Female: Bess Marvin
Male: Dean Winchester Female: Bella
Male: Mason Female: Alex Russo
Male: Klaus Mikaelson Female: Hayley Marshall
The character death that was the worst for me:
Sherlock’s fake death - John crying was heartbreaking
Allison Argent - she died in the arms of the man she loved and her dad was devastated
Lucy Sable - she killed herself because of extreme bullying and never got to meet her daughter
The first death of Sam - Dean’s speech made me cry soo much
No one died - that I remember
Klaus and Elijah- They died together
The character that is the most like me:
Molly - I am an awkward fangirl of Sherlock too
I don’t think I am similar to any but Id love to be as charming as Stiles and as brave as Scott and smart as Lydia
I’m not like any of the characters but I think I relate most to George- I too have many younger siblings.
Castiel and I are both awkward AF and I don’t understand enough pop culture references
Alex and I are both lazy AF
I have a temper that could rival that of Klaus
The characters that deserved better:
All of them deserve the world but I think Mycroft deserves better
Stiles and Derek deserve to be happy together
Nancy deserves better. She should be happy with Ace and not have to deal with her dad lying and the Hudsons
All of the characters deserve to be happy on Supernatural - They deserve the world, Dean , Sam and Castiel
Max should have got to keep his magic and be happy with his siblings
All of the Mikaelsons deserved to live happily - Klaus should have gotten to raise his daughter
My four least favorite characters, past or present:
Moriarty (I loved to hate him), Sargent Sally Donavan, Mary
Erica, Mr Lahey , Kali , Meredith Walker
Gil Bobbsey (he’s so manipulative), Everrett Hudosn, Ceila Hudson, Diana Marvin
Metatron, God, Samuel Campbell, Mary Winchester
Gigi, Stevie, Hugh Normous, Gorog
Esther, Mikael, Dhalia, Aurora de Martel
A character I’m indifferent about:
Anderson - he felt remorseful after thinking that Sherlock was dead
Kira - Her character was good but I dint love her
Bess - she can be a little shallow at times
Meg- her voice annoyed me sometimes but she loved Cas
Professor Krumbs could be little mean
Sometimes I loved her and other I hated her but in the end I think she is a strong female character
A ship I’ve never been able to get into/ shouldn’t have happened:
John and Mary - She wasn’t a great wife
Derek and Baeden- I didn’t see any chemistry at all
Nick and Nancy - Even they are endgame in the books, they didn’t have any chemistry on screen
Sam and Ruby - Mostly cause she was really sus from the beginning
Justin and Rosie - He was better with Juliet
Hope and Roman - He used her and that’s horrible on such a young girl
A ship I’ve never been able to get over:
Sherlock and John whether it be friends are lovers - they are supreme
Stiles and Derek- Even though its not canon its the best ship on the show
Nancy and Ace- They haven’t gotten together yet but I love the angst
Cas and Dean whether it be friends are lovers - they are supreme
Alex and Mason - those 2 were cute
Rebekah and Marcel- It took so long for them to be together but they finally got there
A cute, low-key ship:
Sherlock and Mycroft (not romantically- ew) as the best of brothers
Scott and Alison were so soft
Nick and George are cute- they are healthy and communicate really well
Sam and Elieen
Justin and Juliet - those nerdy cuties
Davina and Kol
My favourite storyline/moment:
Sherlock tells John he is alive - that was shocking
Dark Stiles - Nigutsune
Nancy finding about her true heritage and talking to Ryan and Nace
Cas saves Dean and becomes a part of the rest of the show
Alex erases herself and her brothers in the movie
All Klaus and Hope scenes
A storyline that never should have been written:
Sherlock’s long lost sister
The whole of season 6b
The death of Owen Marvin - he didn’t deserve to die.
Dean’s final death and Sam having to live without him
Alex and Justin accidentally turn Max int a girl
The death of Klaus, Elijah and Hayley in the final season just because of legacies

The Half Of It - Thoughts
This is full of spoilers!
--
I really loved this movie. It follows Ellie, a friendless high school senior that makes money writing essays for her classmates and who doesn’t think she’ll ever leave the small town she lives in. It feels like any regular teen romcom at first, but instead it turns into something different and a little bit more interesting.
We get to see what love is like for teenagers in a way that is often not explored. There are crushes and such a surety that “they’re the one” indeed the movie begins by talking about soulmates and finding your other half...but the movie doesn’t follow the natural conclusion on ending on a couple, instead everyone ends up getting what they wanted/needed but on their own perhaps still on the journey to find who they belong with.
Ellie begins the story friendless, sad, and although brilliantly smart unwilling to chase after her dreams of going away to school and making something more of herself.
Paul has a crush. He thinks he’s in love and he’s brave and willing to put himself out there for a girl he barely knows and who doesn’t know him. At the same time, he’s struggling with getting his family to listen to him when it comes to the family business.
Esther is stuck dating a guy she doesn’t really like who sees her as a trophy, with a strict father, and a love for art that she’s unwilling to follow through.
They’re each right on the precipice of the rest of their lives and I think it’s so important the movie shows us how they each end up affecting each other for the better. Ellie grows more confident with Paul as her friend and she learns what it is to reach farther and try and through Paul, her father grows too and pushes her to go after her dreams. Paul opens Ellie up to the idea of love and he stays with her even after she rebuffs him. Their friendship is in so many ways the heart of the movie and I love that it is a friendship that never gets marred by them falling for each other as the romcom trope would demand.
Paul learns to push for his ideas and to trust himself and those ideas for his sausage. The scenes where he bonds with Ellie’s father are just perfect and so validating for him. Paul gets to learn a lot from Ellie in his efforts to impress Esther but I think the most important thing is that Paul learns what love is — by the end I think he fully understands the platonic love that he feels for Ellie.
Esther’s love for art comes back because of Ellie’s words and how she slowly pushes Esther to want to make bold strokes. Esther is obviously hurt by the way Ellie and Paul trick her in order to help Paul woo her, but she gains so much from the connection that she has with Ellie through the messages and letters. I think she also gains a lot from knowing Paul and how different both Paul and Ellie are in her life in comparison to everyone else that sees her as just a pretty girl.
The movie never truly clears up Ellie’s sexuality. It doesn’t make a point of making an issue of it so we don’t know if she’s a lesbian or if she’s bi or if she’s just not sure. And that is great. It doesn’t matter — she can love who she loves without need to explain it or needing a label. This story doesn’t make it a big deal and just lets it be while allowing Ellie to have feelings for a girl. I read this as another way of showing how young and how much they’re all at the start of their lives because at 17 or 18, there is no fully knowing your full self.
Similarly with Esther there are vibes that she’s not straight and she doesn’t make a big deal of Ellie kissing her, but we don’t get to find out what she is and that doesn’t matter.
The logical conclusion for a movie like this, is either Ellie and Paul getting together or Ellie and Esther getting together. We don’t get that. And it’s fine.
I really loved the ending. I love that we don’t know what Ellie’s sexuality is past knowing that she can be attracted to girls. I love that we get to see a friendship grow and flourish and not die because of feelings. And at the end with Paul chasing the train...it was not only a call back to one of the first times he and Ellie hung out, but it gives us a glimpse into how strong their friendship is. He chases the train and she cries and yet it’s uplifting because of the depth of their friendship and because all three characters are set up to grow and change and maybe come together once more.

Character Profile: Davey (Musical and Film Version)
Real Name: David Jacobs
Nickname and Meaning: Davey (diminutive of David), Walking Mouth (given to him by Spot for talking so much)
Age: In the film script, Davey is stated to be 15, and his brother 8. (Newsies Film script, page 6) However, in the stage musical, Les says that he is “ten, almost”, (Newsies Live script, page 11) so Davey could be as old as 17.
Gender: Davey is always played by a man.
Family: Esther and Mayer Jacobs (parents), Sarah (sister) and Les (brother)
Davey…:
Is book smart. Not only is he the first one to suggest a strike, he knows everything the newsies would need to make it official and successful. (Newsies Live script, pages 25, 26, 27, 32) He has an extensive vocabulary (often causing his points to go right over the newsies’ heads), (Newsies Live script, pages 27, 32) (Newsies Film script, page 46) and is an eloquent public speaker. (Newsies Live script, pages 27, 28, 53, 54, 55, 63) His solo in Seize the Day is essentially a persuasive speech, telling the newsies not to quit- and one that works very well. (Newsies Live script, pages 40, 41, 42, 43)
Is street stupid. Davey comes to the circulation gate not knowing anything about buying papers, (Newsies Live script, page 10) and when he tries to sell, not only does he lack charisma, he seems to have never heard a newsie hawk a headline in his entire life. (Newsies Live script, page 16) He also has no idea who Warden Snyder is, despite probably being in the poorest family he knows (until he meets the newsies, of course). (Newsies Live script, page 17)
Says what he thinks. When Jack spit shakes with Les, Davey tells him flat out “that’s disgusting”, (Newsies Live script, page 12) tells Katherine she’s not a “real reporter” before he even knows her, (Newsies Live script, page 34) and says “that’s it?” when Kath starts dancing during King of New York (Newsies Live script, page 50) - certainly not the best first impression a guy could make. He isn’t mean, though- he also readily complements Jack on his art (Newsies Live script, page 19) and lets him know how much he cares about him. (Newsies Live script, page 69)
Doesn’t understand social cues very well. When Jack is having his personal moping session after Crutchie’s arrest, Davey completely misreads the room. He talks about himself, and how worried he was about Jack (Newsies Live script, page 53) and then acts like nothing is wrong, and Jack ought to be happy the strike is going so well. (Newsies Live script, page 53, 54) He even tells Jack “Lighten up, no one died”, even though Crutchie very well could. (Newsies Live script, page 55) He also continues to mention his parents around the newsies, despite seeing how uncomfortable it makes them, (Newsies Live script, pages 16, 17, 23, 53) and tries to sell papers to a couple while they were making out. (Newsies Film script, page 21)
Is very protective of his brother. He mostly shows this by keeping him in line and out of trouble, like keeping him away from people who could hurt him (Newsies Live script, page 42) (Newsies Film script, page 30) and not letting him gawk at the Bowery Beauties. (Newsies Live script, page 18) He also looks after Les’s future, reminding him that they’re going back to school as soon as their father can work again. (Newsies Live script, page 16)
Has a strong sense of ethics, which includes:
Honesty. Davey objects strongly to Jack’s “improving the truth a little”. (Newsies Film script, page 23) His dishonestly clearly marks him as a bad seed in Davey’s book, as when he says he was put in jail for stealing food, he becomes “suspicious”. (Newsies Film script, page 26) Though he learns to trust Jack over time, he brings up the lying again when Jack scabs, saying “You lie about everything headlines, your family -- because nobody counts but you -- nobody or nothing!” (Newsies Film script, page 105) Him bringing up honesty at such an emotional time shows how much it means to him.
Justice. Davey is very enthusiastic about the strike. He talks grandly about all the good striking will do- getting the newsies more rights, teaching adults they can’t exploit kids and get away with it, and helping other poor people. (Newsies Live script, pages 27, 63) He also preaches the importance of supporting other poor people to Medda when he’s trying to get the theater for the rally. (Newsies Film script, page 71)
Nonviolence. Davey strongly objects to beating up the scabbing newsies throughout the play, (Newsies Live script, pages 28, 41) (Newsies Film script, page 43, 80, 104) and is clearly disturbed by the violence of the police to the newsies (Newsies Film script, page 92) and the trolley strikers to each other. (Newsies Film script, page 30) The only time in either show Davey resorts to physical violence is when the Delancey brothers threaten his sister. (Newsies Film script, page 111)
Loyalty. Once Davey has committed to the strike, he really commits. He sticks by the newsies when they don’t (Newsies Live script, pages 40, 41, 42, 43), even going so far as to find their leader and bring him back when he tries to quit. (Newsies Live script, page 53)
Isn’t very social. When Jack buys him papers and offers to sell with him, Davey rejects him off the bat. (Newsies Film script, page 18) Even when he accepts the deal, Davey only does it “reluctantly”, (Newsies Film script, page 19) and he’s suspicious of Denton at first. (Newsies Film script, page 48) Also, he doesn’t appear to have any friends besides his sister, as he often talks to her about Jack. (Newsies Film script, page 75) However, he becomes more comfortable with them after they prove themselves trustworthy.
Is a nervous person. His dialogue is peppered with filler words (Newsies Live script, pages 17, 26, 27) (Newsies Film script, page 52) and dashes, (Newsies Live script, pages 40, 56) (Newsies Film script, page 51, 62, 101, 105, 123) showing that he isn’t confident in his ability to speak. He also asks the newsies to “leave him out” of the strike because he thinks it’s too risky, (Newsies Live script, page 25) and refuses to go to Brooklyn without Jack to protect him, (Newsies Live script, page 33) and starts “sweating, aware that all eyes are on him” while arguing with Wiesel about his papers. (Newsies Film script, page 17) This could be caused by him being the least favorite child in his family. (Highlights of the 1991 Script)
Is brave. Despite his anxiety, Davey doesn’t hesitate to stick up for himself or others. When Wiesel tries to cheat him out of a paper, Davey calls his mistake and doesn’t back down until he gets what he wants. (Newsies Live script, page 11) During the strike, he stands up for the cause the most and doesn’t back down when things get scary. His courage inspires the other newsies to stick with it. (Newsies Live script, pages 40, 41, 42, 43)
Could be on the autism spectrum. Davey shows a lot of autistic traits, such as not understanding social cues and having difficulty approaching strangers. His large amounts of knowledge on striking and unions could also be because they’re his special interest.
Headcanon Fuel:
Why is Davey neither of his parents’ favorite child?
Why does Davey value honesty, justice, loyalty and nonviolence so much?
Why did Davey become a newsie (rather than picking some other job)?
Why doesn’t Davey want to be friends with the newsies at first?
Actors and Physical Appearance:
David Moscow
Tumblr media
Ben Fankhauser
Tumblr media
Jacob Kemp
Tumblr media
Stephen Michael Langton
Tumblr media
Davey is tall and scrawny, with dark curly hair and a prominent nose. He dresses to impress. Davey and his family are canonically Jewish and at least half Polish, as was made clear in a previous version of the script. (Highlights of the 1991 Script)

OC introduction!!!!
I have a tendency to ramble when I get excited so I apologize in advance if this is way too long!
Here is an introductory post to introduce everyone in the Something Wicked Universe!
I tried to make everyone’s descriptions informative but also brief so hopefully that worked out at least a little!
This is my current project so I’ll be posting about these guys a lot! 🤓
The Original Forest
An immortal sentient forest, with a maternal air. Has always Taken in people who felt lost or thrown away. Especially magical creatures cast out for being monstrous. Has had children with other magical beings that have human (and non-human) forms. Is Eyries mother.
Asha
A changeling child with the ability to make anything she says aloud come true. One day she ran into The Forest, and she sat in its heart and chanted “I am the forest” until it was true. She then became like a parasite on the forest and it hurt them both and now they’re bound up in one another and it’s been a downward spiral ever since.
The Forest of Puppets
The horrific mesh of Asha and the Original Forest that is the warped result of centuries of Asha as a Parisitic influence having her own psyche degraded but also degrading the forest. It’s fond of three things : eating people, taking them and making them nice little puppets that won’t ever leave or disobey, and stories. An occasional fourth is Esther Grimm, who makes deals with it and provides it lots of entertainment.
Esther Grim
(Age unknown, but she’s very old)
Grandmother to Irene Grimm. Is a descendant of changelings (is unaware of that fact). Has minor memory manipulation abilities, that she uses to get what she wants. She’s a manipulative, power hungry, control freak that has- over the year as built up quite the reputation in magical circles and a long list of contacts and favors. She doesn’t like anyone or anything she can’t control. So she does enjoy working with a forest that can make puppets of people.
Irene (Eyrie) Grimm
18-21 age range (still working out her exact age)
Her mother was a sentient forest and her father was a descendant of changelings. She knows neither of those things but is aware of her telekinesis ability. She is very, very, shy, and gardening is her passion. Has a stutter, and prefers non violent solutions. Her best friend is the most important person in her life. Her relationship with her Gran (Who raises her) is complicated and terrible. She is hell bent on saving her best friend and everyone else along the way. She’ll do anything to accomplish that goal.
(Is also Ace and Aro)
Charlotte (Lottie) Hawthorne
(Similarly 18-21 age range undecided)
Best friend of Irene Grimm! These girls love each other so much! It’s great! She is brave, and smart, and stands up for anyone who looks like they need it. She’s outspoken and has a wicked sense of humor! Her brother vanished when she was in high school and she’s never gotten over it. Near the anniversary of his death, Esther fed her to the Forest of Puppets. She was given horrible abilities and her mind was warped. Has been sent to lure Eyrie into the forest to become a puppet as well.
(Also is Trans!)
Owl
(Age unknown.)
Owl is unseelie Fae nobility that was sent to check in on the Grimm line of changelings. With all their magical knowledge and Fae court archive resources at their disposal they were able to figure out what was happening with the forest and Asha. They wanted to fix it. So Esther trapped them into a book of Fae fairy tales. A book she gave to her son who gave it to his daughter Eyrie.
Before being trapped in a book, Owl was the captain/ringmaster of a ship/carnival that traveled between worlds. Owl had a reputation at one point for driving liars mad with hysterical laughter. Has a terrifyingly incomprehensible sense of morality and is terribly fond of Eyrie, as they’ve been watching over her, almost her whole life, from the inside of that storybook.
(Also is agender!)
Bryn
(Age unknown)
On their mothers side Bryn is Eyries half brother. On his fathers side he’s a selkie. He spend centuries at sea before being killed in an accident. He woke up alive and with plants growing under his skin (the forest side of his power only kicking in after death) his Pod kicked him out for no longer truly being a Selkie. He went to land to figure out what was happening. He fell in love with a human. Then found his way to Eyrie, Esther, and the forest. He spent close to a year there, when Eyrie was 11-12. Before figuring out what was going on. Esther stole his pelt and gave it to The Forest of Puppets so it could control him too. He is very kind, and yet very wary and slightly jaded, he is whip smart and curious. (He is Pan!)
Jackson (Jack) Vey
(Somewhere in his 20’s-early 30’s - haven’t thought of it as much as I should’ve)
He is a reporter. He is the human Bryn fell in love with and he helped Bryn research a lot of magical stuff, and find Eyrie and the forest. He is way too curious for his own good in every way. He runs headlong into his curiosity like no other. He gets lured into the Forest of Puppets by mind controlled!Bryn.
Okay! This is wayyyyy too long but this is everyone I have right now! Sorry for the brick wall of text! I wasn’t sure what to put and I panicked and wrote too much (which honestly sums up my academic career!)

OC MasterPost: The Last Place on Earth
story summary:  Lacy Medina is a young woman who works for Kitty (Kit) Reed, an older ex-FBI agent who quit to run her own agency called The Last Place on Earth. Disguised as a restaurant, TLPoE is actually “the last place on Earth” anyone would ever think to search for you, and it’s a front for a team of people (names: TJ “Jefferson” Figueroa, Ester Bao, and Eve Stroud) who “disappear” women who are in serious trouble, giving them a new start in life by blackmailing their pursuers and letting the women a new identity, some startup money, and whatever else they need. Lacy shows up out of nowhere, an ex-criminal (but claims that she severed all her ties from that life… but has she?) who has already “dissappeared” and now wants to work for Kit in exchange for being kept safe. She becomes Kit’s go-to undercover gal, but her own past begins to creep in and it becomes apparent that she’s not as “done” with her old life as she said she was.
Characters:
Lacy Medina: 27, used to be involved in a lot of “high crime” stuff but got too far in and needed to escape. She changed her name to avoid some people frmo her old life, including her ex boyfriend and her ex girlfriend, September. She’s fearless and brave, resourceful and witty, but keeps a lot of secrets. Usually under suspicion for something or other, and breaks trust like she breaks nails even if she’s not meaning to.
Kitty “Kit” Reed: 54, an ex FBI agent. She left the FBI and now runs a restaurant/motel business in which she gives new identities to women who are being threatened by dangerous, usually higher-ranking men, free of charge—she blackmails the men for money and also, of course, earns revenue from regular customers/guests. She’s got a wife and an adult daughter, who is just-married. She’s smart, cool, and in-control, but can be opposing and intimidating, and even cold to someone who has betrayed her.
TJ “Jefferson” Figueroa: 29, the cook at the restaurant. His mother was killed in a domestic dispute with his step dad, so he’s passionate about what Kit does, firmly believing it could have saved her, and looks to Kit as kind of a parental figure. He’s more nervous about things than the rest of the gang and prefers to stay as far from the action as he can, but he’s also the first to step in to patch up what goes wrong, both emotionally and physically. A guy you’d want to get a drink with.
Eve Stroud, 33,  the house manager. She runs the front desk (of the motel and the restaurant—the diner is pretty small, so they’re both run from the same front podium) and has years of hospitality experience. She came from a pretty mixed-up childhood and had some years where drugs and alcohol were a problem for her, but she’s clean now and intends to stay that way. She’s got kind of a scathing sense of humor that can seem genuinely insulting until you really know her and is more-so the person who makes sure things get done.
Esther Bao: 21, a server at the restaurant. She’s a trans woman who was kicked out of her parents’ house and came to Kit looking for a job just working in the restaurant, but when Kit heard her story, she invited her to the team. Kit pays all her employees a living wage, but Esther especially is treated like a daughter—she’d continue to make the same amount even if she had to take sick days, and she’s in online college which is being paid for by the restaurant. When she graduates, she eventually wants Kit’s job, and though she sometimes gets jealous of Lacy being the favorite, she’s generally a sweet, kind person with a good heart and a silly sense of humor. Will procrastinate until she’s so stressed she can’t even function and wants to be in the center of the action but is working through that in a fight or flight situation, her instinct is to freeze.
Tumblr media
left to right: Eve, TJ, Kit, Lacy, and Esther
There are also various line cooks and housekeepers that make the place run smoothly, but they don’t know about the secret parts, so they’re not really part of the story except in passing.

I love your meta on the similarities and differences between Rachel and Lorelai! Can that be a new thing, sending you two characters and asking you to analyze their similraities and differences? If so: Elena and Bonnie. And Stefan and Damon please :)
Ha! This is really flattering, especially since I didn’t put that much effort into the Rachel/Lorelai post (I mean, I put effort into it, but it didn’t come out that great). And you can ask me anything! But if you want this to be a “new thing”, it can be! That gives me the idea of creating a masterlist for asks, like gif-makers have? For example:
Choose between two characters.
Choose between two ships.
Compare two characters.
Compare two ships.
Episode analysis.
Etc.? Tell me what you think! I don’t know if that’s something you guys want.
Elena vs. Bonnie
There are obvious similarities between them, personality wise. They’re both very empathetic, selfless, caring, loyal, brave, strong. They love deeply. They’re not afraid to die for what they believe in or for someone they love. They’re smart and resourceful. They don’t like to depend on people. They’re generally honest, but will lie or manipulate if necessary. They keep their promises. They’re protectors.
In the supernatural world, they’re hot commodities, being both human and supernatural (if such a thing isn’t a contradiction!). They can’t help being sucked into the vampire drama. Bennett witches are the most powerful and important of witches, and many spells depend on them. Vampires and other supernaturals love to exploit them. Doppelgangers are supernaturally recurring in nature, and Elena’s doppelganger line is the most important and powerful of them all. Many spells also need blood of the doppelgangers, so supernatural drama follows Elena wherever she goes.
They have an interesting “relationship” with Klaus. In season 2, Elena was the main ingredient (yikes) in the Sun and the Moon curse mess, and Bonnie was the main ingredient in the Kill Klaus mess. The former would grant Klaus true immortality, and the latter would kill him. Elena makes Klaus strong (her blood is the key in creating hybrids and tapping into Klaus’s werewolf side), and Bonnie weakens him (she nearly kills him, more than once, and she and her mother were essential to Esther’s plan to kill the entire vampire race).
Relationship wise, they have similar/opposite dynamics with certain characters. In the beginning, Caroline was their “back-up” best friend. Bonnie loved Jeremy the opposite of how Elena loves Jeremy, but with comparable intensity. Bonnie and Damon have a connection from the beginning, just like Elena and Damon do. (Bonnie and Damon recognized in each other their love for Elena, and their willingness to do whatever it took to protect her. They often worked together to this end, even though they disagreed on everything else. Eventually, Damon and Bonnie become friends, and when Bonnie’s life is tied to Elena’s, he chooses to let Bonnie live although it means postponing his future life with Elena. Damon and Elena had an “understanding”. They were both part of Stefan’s life, and their love for Stefan bound them. They saw in each other the same passion, drive, restlessness, unhappiness.)
Also, Bonnie ends up with Enzo, kinda. She falls for the evil vampire, which is something Elena can relate to!
Differences between them? Elena is more accepting and forgiving than Bonnie. Damon calls Bonnie “Judgy” which isn’t entirely false. As a witch, she is the “judge” of the supernatural world. Witches “maintain the balance”. Bonnie can hold a grudge, and she expects people to be like her. Elena expects good things from people as well, but she’s more understanding and accommodating of their flaws. Elena is warm and soft (her manner is soft, she’s tough), while Bonnie is warm yet hard and inflexible. They’re both very strong and brave, but in different ways. Elena’s strength is in her compassion, vulnerability, adaptability. Bonnie’s strength is in her integrity, resilience, selflessness. Their strength comes from similar places, but expresses itself differently.
Oh, and Bonnie and Elena have a confusing and unconventional family. Bonnie’s family is big though. Her dad’s family is supposed to be huge, and the Bennett line never dies. But Elena’s family is nearly gone. She’s the last doppelganger, both her mothers and both her fathers die, her aunt dies...
All Bonnie and Elena want from life is to be normal and help people. But they also want excitement and adventure (I unintentionally quoted Damon!).
I’m exhausted!! Let’s move on, haha. Stefan vs. Damon under the cut.
Stefan vs. Damon
Oh, boy! Let’s start with the most obvious similarity: their taste in women. Stefan and Damon fall for the same woman, not once!... but twice. Stefan is the love of Katherine’s life, and Damon is the love of Elena’s life. (They also sleep with a lot of the same women: Katherine, Elena, Rebekah, Caroline... yikes!).
Damon and Stefan are brave, capable, smart, perspective, charming (almost unintentionally in Stefan’s case). Damon is selfish, manipulative, into the whole bad boy thing, the older brother, etc. Stefan is selfless, kind, the younger brother. Stefan relates to people, he’s compassionate and empathetic, and thus being a vampire is hard on him. Stefan hates it. Damon isn’t very compassionate at all. He doesn’t connect with most people, especially humans. Life and death mean very little to him overall. Damon loves being a vampire (less than he lets on, but still). Ironically, he has a pretty firm grip on his vampire nature, unlike Stefan who is a ripper. But Stefan has control over his emotions, and Damon is a ticking time bomb. I also want to point out that Stefan and Damon are intelligent in different ways. Both are pragmatic and have tons of life experience, but Damon is more strategic, perceptive, ruthless. His plans often work. Stefan listens and accepts ideas from others. He’s considerate, patient and respectful. He cleans up after Damon’s messes because Damon doesn’t think things through, and his plans have unforeseen consequences. They’re both leaders, and people to turn to in times of crisis. They’re also very good liars!
Damon was his father’s least favorite child, and Stefan was the golden child. I dunno if Stefan was also his mom’s favorite?
Damon loves Elena’s kindness and beautiful heart, but what he loves the most is her passion, spunk, strength, hunger for something more. Stefan loves Elena’s vitality and resilience, but he loves her compassion, warmth and groundedness (yes, that’s an actual word, I checked!) more. Ultimately, that’s why Stefan and Damon responded so differently to Elena becoming a vampire. Being a vampire made Elena more intense, more impulsive, more bold. Damon responded very well to that. He loved that she became hungry for life and out of control, like him. But Stefan didn’t like that Elena became less “stable”, because Elena was his rock. Her immutability was part of the reason he loved her.
Stefan and Damon have something very important in common besides their love for Elena and that’s their love for each other. Despite everything, they can’t let the other die. They’ll fight and nearly kill each other, but they’ll always have each other’s backs when it matters most. They know each other very well, but they’re biased and that works against them. Their complicated history together gets in the way of them seeing each other as they are.
I think Stefan wants a peaceful existence. He wants to control his darkest parts. Caroline was good for him in that way, because she has impeccable self-control and is a planner. Stefan’s life is a big ol’ mess but Caroline is great at cleaning up messes. Their nice June wedding and their wholesome personalities speak to this peaceful, human-like existence they both wanted (Caroline has ambition, but she also wants stability). Damon, again ironically, is the one who gets the cliché human life. But he loved Elena because he saw the anger, pain and passion just bubbling under the surface. She was always more out of control than she let on. Damon and Elena have the most fun together after a near-death experience or when something unexpected happens.
Damon and Stefan are very evenly matched in terms of strength and knowledge. They’re similar in ways I can’t describe. When I look at them and their arcs, I see a convergence of their personalities and life choices. It’s hard to explain. I think they have more similarities than differences.
Thanks for the ask!!! That was quite a ride.

so short while back @genjis-girlfriend asked me to pick five prompts from the last sentence starter I reblogged aaaaand I actually did a couple more which is why it took so long so here we go!!
John and Johnny - “How do I look?”
“Fantastic,” John beamed. Johnny rolled his eyes with a smile and went back to the mirror in the hallway, fixing his graduation cap in his hair. John quickly intervened, fiddling with it himself. He moved the tassel to the correct side.
“Pops, I can dress myself,” Johnny smirked. John proudly placed his hands on his son’s shoulders. He gave them a squeeze and smiled at the reflection.
“My little boy,” John murmured, his voice tight. “Your mother would be so proud of you.” Johnny went quiet for a moment and stared at their reflections with a small smile. His dad told him how much he looked like her often. He moved from the mirror, shaking his head with a teasing smirk.
“Dad, I haven’t even officially graduated yet, and you’re already getting the waterworks,” he said. John readjusted his own clothes in the mirror and quickly brushed his fingers under his eyes to wipe whatever stray tears were starting to form and leak. “It’s not like I’m the first one in the family to graduate high school.”
“No,” John pinched his son’s soft freckled cheek with a smile, “but you are my little boy all grown up. All ready to start school in August, at my school!”
“Dad,” Johnny groans again. “Come on, can we skip all this? I don’t want to be late.”
“One picture? Please?”
“I promised to take some with Marianna, Harry, and some of the guys from the team after! You can get them then, Dad, we gotta go!!”
Ghostmo friendship - “You deserve better.”
Moirin gave a sad smile and sniffle, brushing her hand under her eye to wipe away her tears. She gave a soft yet tight laugh. John looked down at her sympathetically and scooted closer to her.
“I just thought,” she whispered, “that he loves me. Really. Truly. And I find out that even before he threatened me, he did so much behind my back. Lying to me, tricking me, cheating on me with Merhib, of all people. Maybe everything was there and I just didn’t want to see.” John shook his head and wrapped an arm around her comfortingly. She sniffled and rested her head against his shoulder.
“It says nothing about you,” John said. “Merhib’s always been our to manipulate all of us. Hurt all of us. Dagan was selfish. All you ever did, was show him love. The same love you show to everyone else. It wasn’t your fault he took it and used it, and it wasn’t your fault that he didn’t deserve it. It was his.” Moirin sucked in a breath and held back crying. John turned her in his arms, holding her in a hug and allowing her to hide in his chest and cry.
John and Beth - “You’re family.”
Beth looked up at John, almost in disbelief. But she shakes her head and lowers her gaze, rubbing her tan fingers against each other.
“As much as it would be nice to think that,” she murmured, “I know it’s not true. I mean, I’ve got my mom. It’s been just us our whole life. I can’t abandon her, a-and I appreciate everything, but.. but she is my mom, Doc. I can’t leave or change that.”
Beth slid off the guest bed, “I should get home. I have to be there before she is, remember?”
“Beth,” John stood from the bed, “what if... what if you didn’t have to?” Beth stopped and looked at her friend. She gave a sad smile and shook her head.
“I have to,” she gave a weak chuckle. “That’s just the way it is. My mom will freak out if I’m not there, and then she’ll—she’ll...” Beth cut herself off, and the way she does so tells John everything. So many little things about the girl tell him everything, all the things he’s sure were true anyway. Though he considered himself a smart man, he knows he doesn’t have to be to see behind Beth’s words. John sighed and set his hands on his knees before weakly pushing himself up.
“Alright then,” he said, “let’s get you home then. Better hurry before the traffic gets bad.” John leads her out the house and back to his truck, her backpack full of her clothes with her. Once he dropped her off, John found himself turning the radio off and thinking in the quiet to himself.
She wouldn’t believe they were family unless they were by blood.
Or by law.
He acted enough as a father to her. Why not fight for custody? Save the poor girl from the monster of a mother she had. Truly make her family.
Ghostmo pirate au - “I’m worried about you.”
Moirin gave a proud smile at John, “You don’t have to! I’ve been a pirate captain for years, dear. I know what I’m doing.”
John sighed, holding hands with his wife, “I want to know you’re safe—“
“I’m very skilled!”
“—well protected—“
“I have an entire crew on my side!”
“Moirin, please,” and he held Moirin’s shoulders. The way he grips her made her fall quiet. “I... yes, I know you can do all these things, you have people on your side. But I... I... I-I just got you back. I don’t want to lose you again.” Moirin’s look softened. She touched John’s cheek comfortingly, pressing a soft kiss to him.
“You won’t lose me again, John,” Moirin smiled up at her husband, this time more sincere, more loving. “I promise you that. It isn’t the same as it was before. We have people to rely on, protect each other, and if it would make you feel better, you can always join me.” John felt his face blanch.
“M-me?” he squeaked. Moirin nodded eagerly. “A-aboard your ship?! With all the other pirates—no, no, I have to care for Lady Beth—“
“Bring her along!” Moirin chuckled. “Her and Johnny. It’ll be a learning and bonding experience for everyone.” John looked even more nervous than before. Moirin gave a smile and kissed his cheek. “Oh, honey... nothing I say will ever make you stop worrying, will it?”
John let out a wheeze, “Consider it just my nature, dear.”
Electric dreams - “You’re the only person I wanted to be with tonight.”
Esther’s cheeks turned violet as she blushed, but a timid smile creased against her lilac face. Johnny held out his hand for his girlfriend, who shyly took it. With a smile, Johnny pulled out his phone and pressed play on a song. He set it down on the grass of the hill and lead Esther in a dance, beaming the whole time.
“This is like when we first danced at Beth’s birthday,” Esther smiled. Johnny snorted.
“Yeah,” he smirked, “except your dad isn’t breathing down my neck and we aren’t in a stuffy ballroom or being watched by all those fancy elite UpSideDowners.” Esther giggled.
“No, we aren’t,” Esther rested her head on Johnny’s shoulder. He looked down the hill. As the song ended, he sat down on the grass, an arm around Esther as she continued to lean against him.
“Down there’s my old high school,” he said. “My senior year, I was crowned prom king.” Esther gasped and lifted her head, staring in awe at Johnny.
“So you are royalty!” she blinked, “Just like your sister!” Johnny snorted as he attempted and failed at holding back a laugh.
“Not exactly,” he scratched the back of his head. “It was a... modern American high school thing, y’know? Girls ready to pull each other’s hair out to be picked as prom queen, guys who don’t really care but are roped in by their girlfriends. The, uh... the district wasn’t ready for two kings yet, so it was just me, not my boyfriend. Some other chick got to be prom queen. But to compensate, they didn’t make me dance with her. See, prom court is supposed to lead like the last slow dance. But they let me lead with Harry and she lead with whatever temporary guy she was with. And then I just got a bunch of pictures taken and even more girls both angry at me and wanting to take pictures with me. It was a weird night. But it was a one night thing. No real royalty.” Esther listened to Johnny with keen interest. She smiled at him and kissed his cheek.
“To me,” she murmured, “you’re a brave king in your own right.”
Johnny and Marianna - “That’s new.”
Johnny gave a little shrug, closing his fist to stop his electricity. He opened his hand again, now devoid of magic and smirked as Marianna snatched his wrist, looking his hand over.
“It’s not actually that new,” he said. Marianna looked up from his hand and back at his face. “I’ve had these powers since I was a baby.”
“I thought you were human,” Marianna raised a brow suspiciously. Johnny nodded.
“I am,” he laughed, “don’t worry about that part. It’s not changing any time soon. But I wasn’t born with the powers, is what I’m saying. Let’s just say it was a... freak accident.” Marianna frowned at him.
“You know,” she huffed, “I didn’t get dragged into this for the spoiler-free version of magic and your real life. I want details. Full and all.” Johnny rolled his eyes with a smirk and laid back in the grass of the Wilson backyard. He stared up at the clouds for a moment as Marianna laid down parallel to him.
“It’s a long story,” he rested his hands behind his head. “You sure you’re up for it?” Marianna nodded.
“You know me,” she smiled, “I’m always up for a good story.”
Adam and Makoto - “I won’t let anything bad happen to you.”
Makoto sighed as Adam bandaged up one of her recent injuries. Still new to the Realm, they had to help each other to survive. Both had their own benefits—Adam didn’t have to worry too much about the toxins, he could stalk animals for food better than Makoto. But Makoto could go out in the daytime to gather supplies Adam couldn’t.
Makoto lifted her tired eyes to look up at the vampire, “The worst has already happened to me.” Adam finished bandaging her would and sat back, looking at his handiwork. Makoto looked at it sadly and murmured a thank you.
“You know,” Adam began, “you don’t have to wallow in sadness forever.”
“You don’t understand,” Makoto whispered, hugging herself. “I lost my husband. My daughter. In one moment, I lost everything. My parents, my friends, everyone I ever cared about or love.” Adam stared for a long moment at the woman.
“And that’s why I won’t let anything else bad happen to you,” he said, relaxing beside Makoto. She looked up at him and raised a brow. “Look, I’ve been here for ages. You don’t think I haven’t lost people either, do you?” Makoto didn’t say anything. “So that’s why I won’t let anything else bad happen to you. Alright?” She didn’t say anything for a moment. Adam playfully shoved her arm. “Come on. Speak up. Saaaaay something, Koko.” Makoto looked up at Adam. She gave a sniffled smile and brushed her hand under her eye.
“I... I like that nickname,” she said. “My husband called me that at times. It’s... nice to hear it again.” Adam gave a small smile.
“Alright then, Koko.”

Forgive me, Mother. He bowed. My argument is with my father. Well, the duke announced himself and paused for dramatic effect in the doorway of the private parlor. No need to look further. You can have at me now. You are having Anna Seaton investigated, the earl said, and it could well cost her her safety. Then marry her, the duke shot back. A husband can protect a wife, particularly if he’s wealthy, titled, smart, and well connected. Your mother has assured me she does not object to the match. You don’t deny this? Do you have any idea the damage you do with your dirty tricks, sly maneuvers, and stupid manipulations? That woman is terrified, nigh paralyzed with fear for herself and her younger relation, and you go stomping about in her life as if you are God Almighty come to earth for the purpose of directing everybody else’s personal life. The duke paced into the room, color rising in his face. That is mighty brave talk for a man who can’t see fit to take a damned wife after almost ten years of looking. What in God’s name is wrong with you, Westhaven? I know you cater to women, and I know you are carrying on with this Seaton woman. She’s comely, convenient, and of child-bearing age. I should have thought to have her investigated, I tell you, so I might find some way to coerce her to the altar. You already tried coercion, Westhaven shot back, and it’s only because Gwen Allen is a decent human being her relations haven’t ruined us completely in retaliation for your failed schemes. I am ashamed to be your son and worse than ashamed to be your heir. You embarrass me, and I wish to hell I could disinherit you, because if I don’t find you a damned broodmare, I’ve every expectation you will disinherit me. Gayle! His mother was on her feet, her expression horror-stricken. Please, for the love of God, apologize. His Grace did not have Mrs. Seaton investigated. Esther… His Grace tried to get words out, but his wife had eyes only for her enraged son. He most certainly did, Westhaven bit out. Up to his old tricks, just as he was with Gwen and with Elise and with God knows how many hapless debutantes and scheming widows. I am sick to death of it, Mother, and this is the last straw. Esther, His Grace tried again. Hush, Percy, the duchess said miserably, still staring at her son. His Grace did not have your Mrs. Seaton investigated. She paused and dropped Westhaven’s gaze. I did. Esther, the duke gasped as he dropped like a stone onto a sofa. For the love of God, help me. ― Grace Burrowes, The Heir

Chapter 103
They all decided to go to the Mikaelson mansion, Caroline and Klaus took a nice and warm shower, then Caroline put on one of Klaus's shirts because her clothes were all bloody.
"Love, I'm really sorry for what you've been through. I'm sorry for all the times you were hurt and I'm sorry for Mikael using you to hurt me. This was why I didn't like you getting closer to Mikael."
"I know. But things worked out okay and we are now okay." Caroline said with a smile.
"You know that even if Mikael and Esther are gone... There will always be someone plotting against me and wanting to use you as my weakness because the truth is that my greatest fear no longer is of me dying or losing power but of losing you..."
"What are you trying to say, Nik?" Caroline asked, afraid that he would break up with her and try to push her away.
"That I want you to be aware of the danger you're in by being with me and that I will understand if you want to leave me." Klaus whispered.
"I will never leave you, Nik. I'm yours. I'm completely yours." Caroline whispered. "In fact, I want to be completely yours forever."
Tumblr media
"Are you saying that...?"
"I want us to complete the ritual. We've been through a lot and when I was being tortured, all I could think was about you, how I let myself being so stubborn and insecure that made me stop from doing things that I want to do, like traveling the world, having a dinner with you and my mom, experience the things I still haven't with you by my side, buying a house for us, and completing the ritual. I might always feel afraid of you rejecting me but I am done with letting my fears stop me from doing what I want. I want to be yours forever."
"Are you sure about this, love?" Klaus whispered.
"I am. I love you. I want to be yours for the rest of our eternity." Caroline whispered and Klaus kissed her passionately.
"I love you so much, Caroline Forbes." He whispered. "I've been wanting to do this for so long."
"Me too. I want to be yours. And I want you to be mine." Caroline whispered and felt Klaus marking her, then she bite his neck, loving the taste of his blood.
"I am yours." Klaus whispered.
"I am yours." Caroline whispered, making them smile to each other and move to the bed.
Tumblr media
Klaus took off the shirt Caroline was wearing, making her be completely naked and Caroline took off his boxers, the only thing he had on. Not long after that, they started to tease and please each other, like if it would be their last time together and they had to enjoy it as much as they could.

April was in the living room asking Bonnie how long would take to her father to leave the place Bonnie trapped him in.
"He will stay there all night. Just tomorrow morning he'll be free." Bonnie said.
"Are you okay, darling?" Kol whispered, wrapping his arm around April.
"Am I a horrible person? I shot my father in his leg, I ask Bonnie to make him unable to leave that place until tomorrow and I didn't even call 911."
"He was going to hurt you." Kol said.
"You're not an awful person. If you were, you wouldn't be wondering about him. He did awful things and you still worry about him. That shows you have a kind heart." Bonnie smiled.
"Thank you." April smiled and hugged Bonnie, then Bonnie left, leaving Kol and April alone.
"Darling, if you need anything, you can count on me. I'm here for you."
"Do you think I can move back in?"
"Of course." Kol said and gave her a key. "This is your home."
"You're amazing, Kol. You've been so patient and sweet to me. I'm falling in love with you more and more each day. I know it sounds cheesy and stupid but..."
"I feel the same way." Kol whispered and kissed her softly.
Tumblr media
"Can I ask you for another favor?"
"Of course, darling." Kol smirked.
"Will you drive me to my dads place and help me get my things? I don't think I can do it alone." April whispered.
"If you want, I can go alone. If you don't feel comfortable in going..."
"I want to make sure I won't need to go back to that place again." April said.
"Okay. Let's go." Kol said and took her to her dads place, then went to her bedroom, helping her packing her stuff.
"Look what I found..." Kol smirked, grabbing one piece of April's underwear, making April blushing and quickly grab it and throw to one of the bags.
"Kol... I think it's time for me to give you this back." April said, taking the dagger off her boot and giving to him.
"What if...?"
"I know you won't hurt me. You're not that reckless man anymore. You're this funny, sweet guy who I can't believe is my boyfriend."
"I like when you call me your boyfriend." Kol smirked and kissed April.

Damon took Bonnie to an empty bedroom, since they all decided to stay in the Mikaelson mansion, and he lay her down in the bed.
"There's no more drama. Now, it's time for you to let yourself rest."
"Damon, you know I'm not a baby, right? I can take care of myself."
"I know. I am very aware that you are this strong, brave, kind, smart and beautiful woman. But that doesn't mean you don't deserve to rest. You're always worried about everyone's well-being. It's time for you to think about your well-being as well."
"Wow! Damon Salvatore is so sweet when we are alone."
"Yeah... I blame you for making me feel so much. I almost had forgotten that loving someone meant being worried about them. And you don't make it very easy by always getting yourself in trouble to save your friends."
Tumblr media
"I love you too, Damon Salvatore." Bonnie said with a smile and kissed him. "Can we now cuddle until we fall asleep?"
"Of course, Bon-Bon. But if anyone asks, we made love for hours, I rocked your world and we fall asleep after vigorous love making." Damon said.
"Don't worry. I won't ruin your stupid reputation." Bonnie smiled and kissed Damon.
to be continued...

Dancing Through the Darkness
Tumblr media
We sat in a room full of daughters some who will one day be mothers, doctors, teachers or leaders, but for today, they are ballerinas. The girls entered the room in their best dresses, some with makeup and others still just waking up. Words were shared of how each girl is beautiful and how each should see others as beautiful too. Destiny declared as each is made and loved by God; that God knows why He gave each one their hand size, their eye color, their story. The story of Esther’s bravery filled the ears of fifteen young Yazidi girls as they listened to the way the queen saved her people. “I am smart, I am strong, I am courageous!” The girls repeated with hand motions to go along.
Our friend led the room in ballet. She brought these girls out of a world of fear and into a world of fun. “I’ve always wanted to know how to be a ballerina!” Our translator shared from one of the little girls. Their eyes full of awe and wonder as she taught them new ballet positions and how to twirl. The girls stretched like butterflies and pulled out imaginary treasures from their imaginary jewelry box to learn a proper ballerina’s posture. An older sister walked in as the young girls were dancing; with tears in her eyes her lips uttered the word, “Fantastic!”
Some of these girls were prisoners of ISIS. Some of these girls still have family members missing. All of these girls are missing their home, their things and the life that they had before. All of these girls are in need of joy. The smile on their faces as crowns were placed on their heads spoke of their hearts current state of excitement. One boy joined in on the fun, his family was waiting to transition to a new country; he wanted to be a part of this before he left. We turned one of the crowns into a cape and he smiled knowing that he too was a part of this day.
At times I feel overwhelmed, wanting to give these ballerinas everything in the world. Wanting to give them safety, to bring them new dresses and answer any wish that they desire, but what I can give for now is joy. Joy is a gift that no one can steal and it will never run out unless you let it. You can have joy even in the hardest of days. If all of this was just for one girl to feel loved, to feel important, to feel brave and to receive joy then it’s all worth it. To know that you are loved is one of the most important things in this world. Beyond us loving them is their awareness that God loves them. His love is the best thing that we could ever give to a child.

Head Cannons
Tumblr media
Personal Fashion Style:
Ever since Darren has escaped Azkaban he has worn bland clothing to help him fit in among the multiple towns he has tried hiding in. This mostly includes clothing that fall into the grey scale and dark shades of colors. The outfits he puts together are simple but look put together. His usual outfit is a plain button down with black slacks and some sort of jacket ((Jean jacket, Leather jacket, blazer etc…))
One thing he’d say to his parents if they died:
Due to Darren having to uphold his “reputation” among the many villains in the wizarding world if he had the chance to see his parents right before they died, he would most likely say nothing. He does not want to look soft towards anyone, but once he is alone Desoto would probably break down.
View on Creation/ Religion:
Darren was raised to believe Protestantism which is a popular branch of Christianity within South Korea. He does tend to keep some certain morals and views within this religion close to his heart, but other than that he will most often take the scientific route of subjects such as creation.
What does he want to change about himself?
Darren Desoto has one thing that would make him bend to anyone’s will and that would be his family. Darren grew up very connected to his family especially with his younger sister Esther because of this he never mentions his family to anyone. He knows that for him to become powerful within this new crowd of people he must do something to cut off these ties with his family.
Long term goal:
Darren’s long term goal is to figure out whether he wants to continue to live the rule free life of crime, or to return back to his old life as an Auror. Usually this would tend to be an easy choice, but for Darren he is trapped between these two lives. He could easily turn on the gang and its leader and return to his life of fighting crime. But surprisingly Desoto is growing more and more fond of his new lifestyle.
 Wand:
Cedar wood, Phoenix Feather core, 13, unyielding flexibility
Cedar wood: Whenever I meet one who carries a cedar wand, I find strength of character and unusual loyalty. My father, Gervaise Ollivander, used always to say, ‘you will never fool the cedar carrier,’ and I agree: the cedar wand finds its perfect home where there is perspicacity and perception. I would go further than my father, however, in saying that I have never yet met the owner of a cedar wand whom I would care to cross, especially if harm is done to those of whom they are fond. The witch or wizard who is well-matched with cedar carries the potential to be a frightening adversary, which often comes as a shock to those who have thoughtlessly challenged them.
Phoenix feather core: This is the rarest core type. Phoenix feathers are capable of the greatest range of magic, though they may take longer than either unicorn or dragon cores to reveal this. They show the most initiative, sometimes acting of their own accord, a quality that many witches and wizards dislike. Phoenix feather wands are always the pickiest when it comes to potential owners, for the creature from which they are taken is one of the most independent and detached in the world. These wands are the hardest to tame and to personalise, and their allegiance is usually hard won.
 Patronus: Silver fox
Fox: The fox is a natural trickster, and brilliantly charismatic. Those with this patronus are often more reserved, but do have the social capability to speak to just about anyone. They are strongly ambitious and observant of the behaviour of others, watching key points in what others do and storing them for further reference, when they may need them. They are good talkers, meaning they can convince people to do what they want and make them think it was their idea in the first place. People with this patronus are rather smart and often do what they must to get their way.
 Language:
Due to both his parents being immigrants from South Korea Darren can speak Fluent Korean. His parents mostly speak a broken mixture of Korean and English. This caused him to grow up at a very early age due to having to help his parents with doing bills and other important tasks that can be nearly impossible if you are unable to understand english. Along with this Darren often had to go to many parent teacher meetings for his younger sister at her muggle schools.
Becoming an Auror:
When wizards become Aurors it is required to pick five Newts that are not below “Exceeds Expectations”. Darren submitted Defense against the Dark Arts, Potions, Charms, Transfiguration, and Arithmancy. When Darren started training he succeeded with flying colors in Concealment and Disguising, half of the training, and also did well in the other half, but not as well. Once he was a full fledged Auror, Darren would get put on undercover tasks mostly but would have others here and there.
 Childhood:
Darren was born in South Korea, but his parents quickly moved overseas to London not even a month afterwards. His parents were very strict about his studies, and even made him learn muggle subjects like Chemistry and Algebra along with his Hogwarts Classes. This caused a lot of responsibilities to be thrown on the young boy. He had to succeed and get good grades or else he would be in big trouble when he got home. The responsibilities doubled when his younger sister was born. He had to be a good role model for her and teach her a lot of things since their parents couldn't because of the language barrier. He didn't really mind helping his younger sister, Esther, because he cared about her. They would often hang out and play together and Darren was super excited for her to join him at Hogwarts. But her letter never came. She was a muggle like their parents. The siblings still stayed pretty close up until Darren's undercover task at Azkaban.
 Stress:
As a kid Darren was a stereotypical Ravenclaw. He spent his time usually studying or reading and got very good grades. But he had to. Since his parents were very strict about grades Darren would often stress about them and barely focused on anything else. To make things worse he barely shared this with anyone causing him to bottle up all of the stress and anger he had. This would often end with Darren letting out all of his bottled up anxieties all at once, causing a very big breakdown which would be filled with anger fits. When this would happen Darren would never be able to control himself causing him to say hurtful things to those brave enough to try to help him, or even go far enough to hurt them. These fits would eventually end, but that never meant that he was always forgiven for these said fits.

I Put a Spell on You
Klaroline Infinity + Other Supernatural (I know this is not exactly the theme but it is Caroline as a witch)
Spellbound: Part 4
FYI Previous Parts 1  2 and 3 here
I put a spell on you, cause you're mine...
Royal Street, French Quarter - Sunday AM
"When you called and asked us to get to the shop I wasn't expecting this. What did you do?" Bonnie hissed, taking in a very lovesick Klaus with his arm snaked tightly around Caroline's waist.
"I told you not to do that," she chided, slapping his hand and extracting herself from his embrace and moving closer to an extremely annoyed Bonnie and an amused Katherine. "Bad Hybrid."
"You might want to be careful, some guys get turned on by slapping Care," Katherine quipped.
"Clearly he's already extremely turned on, Kat," Bonnie scowled. "And thanks for focusing on the important issues as usual. What the hell happened?"
"Well, here's the thing," she admitted sheepishly. "I found this one lurking around the cemetery spying on me yet again and we sort of got into what you could call a robust discussion…"
"Get to the point, Forbes."
"And I might have maybe cast a spell on him but it obviously wasn't the one I'd intended. Klaus Mikaelson should be a furry, little rodent by now not making love confessions and sticking to me like some parasite."
"Easy with the terminology, love," he interrupted. "I don't remember hearing you complaining when you were kissing me back."
"Now, we're getting to the good part," Katherine squealed excitedly. "How was it, was there plenty of tongue?"
"How do you think, it's me after all," Klaus boasted, looking towards Caroline a very telling blush crossing her face. She'd enjoyed every moment if that moaning against his lips was anything to go by.
"I'd suggest he leaves the room but we all know he'll hear us anyway." Caroline growled, sending Klaus a dirty look for his interruption.
"The spell seems to have dazed him out literally, he won't remember any of our conversation anyway, so it doesn't really matter if he stays or goes at this point," Bonnie added. "I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that you cast a love spell, Caroline. Although what that has to do with turning someone into a mouse I have no idea. The spells aren't even remotely similar."
"Sounds like someone wanted a little action," Katherine giggled. "Although just so you know, I'm fairly certain you would have gotten that with or without then spell."
"Obviously I didn't mean to do this," she replied, feebly. "You know my track record with magic and it's not very promising. Plus, I was right by Marie Laveau's tombstone and we all know she used to cast love spells for her clients."
"Oh, so what you suddenly channelled her powers from the grave and you're going to blame a dead witch for your mistake?" Bonnie asked.
"Let's just get back to the matter at hand. Can we please just reverse this, like now?"
"Love spells are irreversible," Katherine replied.
"What?"
"Haven't you seen the movie The Craft, the only way they could break the spell was to kill the guy, pushed him straight out the window and splat."
"Oh that's just great, the one person I choose to cast this spell on also happens to be the only guy I can't kill," she groaned, catching his amused glance from across the room. "What are you smiling about?"
"Oh, just one of the many reasons I love you, Caroline," he grinned, sidling over and rubbing himself up against her like the wolf he was, feeling her shiver in response. "Mmmm, that dry sense of humour."
"Okay, can we please just cool it on the love stuff for a few minutes, Mikaelson. And what did I tell you about not touching me?" Caroline stuttered, moving a further few feet away.
"Look, Katherine is obviously attempting some humour. She's just playing with you, Caroline. Although having said that, it is going to be difficult. We are dealing with the Original Hybrid here."
"I don't understand though, it was easy enough to cast the spell in the first place."
"Well, let's just hope it's that simple to reverse," she sighed. "Otherwise we are going to have some pretty pissed, Original siblings out for retribution."
"I didn't mean to Bonnie, I promise," she apologised. "He was just being so smug and so Klaus bloody Mikaelson that I just snapped. Trust me his stalker ass had it coming for a while now."
"I love it when you pay me compliments, sweetheart," Klaus murmured, suprising her and pulling her flush against him.
"Woah, you really messed him up good, Care," Katherine whistled. "He's practically dry humping you, next thing we know he'll be riding you on that counter top." Klaus merely responded with a throaty growl.
"Stop giving him ideas," Caroline hissed, her hands shaking as she pushed him away again.
"Can we please just focus!" Bonnie interrupted. "Look, it's done and we're running out of time. No doubt his siblings will be wondering where he is by now. Katherine, I need a candle and can you get me some sage, Caroline."
"Need some help from me, love?" Klaus asked, running his hand along her arm. She didn't respond just rolled her eyes and went in search of sage.
Klaus watched on in interest from the corner of the shop as the witches gathered the ingredients for their love reversal spell. He felt almost bad that they were going to so much effort. A reversal spell was never going to have its desired effect when the original spell wasn't successful in the first place.
Klaus had been acting the whole time. He was lucky that his Latin, much like his Aramaic and multitude of languages he'd mastered over the years, was impeccable. She'd attempted to cast a love spell on him and that fact in itself intrigued him. He was fairly certain she knew what she was doing and the whole mouse excuse was just that. Was it something she desired deep down, did she reciprocate his burgeoning feelings? Her kisses, as heavenly as they were, definitely alluded to that fact. She didn't attempt to move away just melted into him, returning his kisses with just as much passion and fervour.
He figured when humans referred to being 'breathless' that's exactly what effect her kisses had on him. It wasn't just an attraction anymore it was much more than that. When they kissed he felt it, like everything had finally fallen into place. It certainly explained his immediate attraction to her and that urgent desperation to be near her all the time and his unexpected painting inspiration. Caroline was his mate.
Mikaelson Compound - Sunday PM
"I cannot believe we are doing this again, we're practically regular visitors here," Caroline mumbled as they approached the Mikaelson compound.
Klaus had seized the opportunity to take her hand, rubbing his thumb in slow circles across her skin. She hadn't even bothered to fight him this time and given how distracted she seemed, he was beginning to realise that she felt something too. Klaus wasn't quite sure how she was going to react about the whole mate thing but first he had to admit to deceiving her. So one battle at a time.
He'd considered breaking the news back at Spellbound but the prospect of being outnumbered by some very pissed witches wasn't ideal just in case. He needed to get back to the compound where he knew it was safer. The only problem was trying to convince them to go there without giving himself away.
"What are we going to do now?"
"Well, how do you feel about having Klaus stuck to your side for the rest of your life, Caroline?"
"Not being helpful, Katherine," she growled, as the Hybrid in question leaned up against her. She hadn't even bothered to push him away which was very telling. "Can we try another spell?"
"We don't have another spell," she murmured.
"So what you're telling me is that we have no other options."
"I think that's what we don't have another spell means, care," Katherine offered.
"You really are annoying in a crisis, has anyone ever told you that?" Katherine didn't repond just rolled her eyes by way of response. "I fail to believe that there is nothing more we can do."
"Well, there might be one thing now that I think about it," Bonnie murmured. "But it's not going to be easy."
"I'm willing to try anything."
"We need to get the Grimoire."
"Great, what is that? Actually, don't bother explaining, just tell me where to find it," Caroline responding enthusiastically. Klaus had to fight the urge to smile, glad that Bonnie was just that smart.
"Esther's Grimoire? Are you crazy, Bon?"
"Who's Esther?"
"She's the Original witch, Klaus's mother. If anyone is going to have a spell we can use on Klaus, it's going to be her."
"Those books will be locked up nice and safe in the Mikealson compound, there is no way we could get that without them finding out what Caroline did to Klaus," Katherine warned. "We can't use magic if we run into trouble. That's a suicide mission."
"I know what I have to do," Bonnie sighed defeatedly. "I'll go to the Compound myself."
"No Bonnie that's too dangerous, if you're going we all are," Caroline said as Katherine nodded in agreement.
"I can speak to Kol but I have to do this myself. It's the only way." Both girls obviously knew what that meant given their sympathetic stares in her direction but Klaus was immediately intrigued. He'd sensed something the other night at dinner but what exactly had transpired between Kol and Bonnie? Klaus knew that was something else he was going to have to deal with later.
This wasn't the plan though, Klaus had to go with her but no one would believe that given his constant and close proximity to Caroline. The one thing he knew about his mate was that she was not only a woman of conviction but she was also extraordinarily fierce and brave and wouldn't allow Bonnie to go alone.
"I'm sorry but I can't let you go, Bonnie," she said, almost like she could read his thoughts. Given their bond it wouldn't be altogether impossible. "This is my fault and I fully intend to take responsibility."
"This isn't my fault at all, just saying," Katherine quipped. "But I'm not letting you go alone, you know how much I love a little excitement and adventure. Plus I wouldn't mind me some Elijah Mikaelson eye candy." Klaus obviously missed that as well. He thought having to sit around with women would be boring but he was actually picking up some interesting morsels of information about them.
"This is serious..."
"Bonnie, you're always trying to protect us and we love you for that but it's time we step up."
"And how do you expect me to improve my woeful witchcraft if you won't let me try? Plus, I'm pretty certain Klaus would kill anyone who tried to hurt me or my friends right now. We need to use that as leverage to get into the compound and get that book." If only Klaus could tell her that he'd do it without a spell, she was his mate after all and he would protect her forever.
"Plus, we all know Kol would never hurt you anyway, so you two better have my back in there," Katherine teased.
"Fine but no more casting spells on any more Originals Forbes, got it?"
"Yes, ma'am," Caroline saluted.
"It's almost dinner time, do you think they'll have some of that steak we had the other night?" Katherine asked. "I could definitely have that and some of that Potato Gratin."
"You're thinking about food at a time like this?"
"I haven't eaten all day, Bonnie," she growled. "Blame the love spell extraordinaire over there for my random food thoughts."
"So, what's the plan exactly?"
"I'm going to speak with Kol, I don't mind what you two do. Although my sixth sense is telling me that Katherine is going to get her flirt on with Elijah and Caroline is going to be trying to keep Klaus from mauling her in front of his mortified siblings." Klaus didn't think that sounded like much of a plan, obviously someone else agreed.
"That's not a plan, Bon."
"Given our last trip here Katherine, I'm thinking plans don't always work for us, especially when it comes to you and your out of control hormones," she drawled. "So, are you ready?"
"As I'll ever be," Caroline murmured, looking toward the large doors ominously. Suddenly he felt bad for deceiving her and before he knew what he was doing, Klaus squeezed her hand affectionately. She looked over at him, a genuine smile crossing her face as she squeezed his back, her gaze unwavering. Klaus couldn't help but think at that moment what a difference a day could make.

Session 2, Chapter 8 - No Mercy
Content Warning: Death, Violence, Fire, Ashes
I climb the ladder back into the sphere, Dragon is still working on the computer, responding to prompts on the screen every few seconds. Chimera is locked into meditation, completely in her own world. Unicorn is against the far wall, and glances at me curiously, I almost don’t see her at first.
“We have company, let’s go,” I say.
“This is bad. I’m not done, I still have about ten minutes left, and we can’t move Chimera.” Dragon says, glancing over her shoulder at me.
“Then we have to hold them off.”
“I can’t, I need to be by the computer. It needs my input.”
“And with Chimera out of commission… Unicorn?”
“I’ll help however I can.” She says, glancing up at me and forcing a smile.
“Phoenix, I trust you to fight the soldiers. We need to get out of here as quickly as possible, and we still have one more thing to do. Unicorn, I need you to go partially solid, enough to lift things, throw all of the crystals on this shelf into the chasm. Don’t get shot, and when you finish, see if Phoenix needs help.” Dragon orders
“On it.” Unicorn grabs an armful of crystals off the shelf and makes her way out of the hatch. I drop down with her and glare towards the entrance to the cave. This place is about to be swarmed with guards and I need to be ready. I have to take them on by myself, they may have dart guns, and if they dart me I don’t think I’d stand much of a chance. I have to play this smart and assume they all have darts or carbon.
I focus on channeling my power through me as I enter the Cinder State. I disappear just before the first few soldiers enter. There are at least twenty or thirty of them, all with rifles with lights mounted on them. The lights circle around the entire chasm and try desperately to find a target.
I float over to the group in the Cinder State, there are a lot of them and they presumably have itchy trigger fingers. I need to do this quickly and efficiently. One wrong move and I’m practically a sitting duck. I begin to channel fire above them, feeling the warm embrace of flame around my body. These people, these monsters are employees of the Archduke. The monster that destroyed my family and ruined this world. They all deserve to die. I’ve made efforts to spare people, I’ve made efforts to kill only when necessary, even if fire isn’t the easiest thing to do that with, I aim center mass and make some effort to pull the heat back a bit unless I need to save my life, but no more. My enemies don’t have empathy or care for human life, and that’s something I need to cut. No mercy, no compassion, these people deserve only death.
I float down to neck level with most of the soldiers and start to form the invisible and intangible fire into a circle. This is going to be painless, quick, just a flick of my wrist. When the soldiers see Sarah drop another armful of crystals out of the hatch and try to take a few shots at her, I see my opening. I drop out of the Cinder State and let my flame loose in a circle around me. A quick flash of fire is followed by the sound of bodies and weapons hitting the floor. I don’t want to look at them, but it’s hard not too. The majority of the soldiers have been turned to ash from the neck up. A few of the shorter ones just had the top halves of their heads removed, while a few were lucky enough to just get blown back with heavy burn marks on the sides of their necks and parts of their helmets melted to their face. A lot of the bodies fell over the side of the chasm, and regardless none of them are getting up.
Good, they’re dead. They’re all dead. Fuck them.
I feel a small sensation, like a pinprick in my back, immediately followed by a searing pain washing over my brain, almost like I’m being unmade and reconstructed from the inside, but I’m being put back together wrong. Something’s missing, something integral, something necessary. I fall to my hands and knees and lower my head until the pain subsides. When I open my eyes, I see my hands are bare and only the cloth of my cloak and long sleeves are covering my arm.
Fuck! It’s a dart! It has to be! I reach towards my back and pull out a small white dart. I got it quickly, but not quickly enough. Fuck, I’m so stupid. How did I miss someone? Was there a second wave? I should have gone back into the Cinder State. I’m so stupid, and there’s a solid chance that it’s going to cost me my life, or at least my freedom.
I feel along the ground, ideally looking for a sidearm or some type of gun that isn’t just full of darts. I don’t find any, but can’t look too much in all the ash, I don’t have the stomach for it. The ash and the smell of burning flesh are almost overwhelming, this is so fucked, I did this. I just murdered all these people, and I didn’t even think twice about it. I’m not a hero, I can’t justify this. I am a fucking supervillain. I killed them without thinking about it, just like I killed my father. I’m not stronger, I’m not colder, I’m just fucked up and thoughtless.
I glance over my shoulder, it’s not a soldier pointing a rifle at me, it’s a girl my age. She’s dressed in blue jeans and brown boots, a grey tee shirt is covered by a dark green jacket. She has long curly brown hair and glasses. Esther Valentin, Exodus. She’s pointing a dart pistol at me and grinning as she steps closer.
“Hi, Rachel. Something the matter? Don’t have quite the same stomach for brutality when the Cinder isn’t influencing you? I’m not surprised, you’re nothing without your powers, are you?” Esther says, smirking at me.
“I’m not afraid of you,” I mutter.
“Really? You’re powerless and I can kill you with a touch. I thought the dart would take away your anger, not your intelligence.”
“I’m more than just my powers, and I’m going to fight you before I let you hurt my friends.”
“So you are that dumb. Whatever.”
Esther holsters her pistols and cracks her knuckles before calling on her power. Chains begin to cover her body, wrapping around her torso in an x shape, forming a belt on her waist along with a loose necklace on her neck, the chains finally wrap themselves around her wrists and ankles. Her clothes are the next to change as dusty white and brown rags replace her normal outfit. A loose white shirt and tattered brown pants for on her, while a worn long sleeved, brown, hooded, cloak appears over her head, arms, and shoulders. White wrappings, similar to those one would expect of a mummy, form over her hands and feet. The inside of the cloak darkens until none of her facial features are visible anymore. Finally, bright yellow lights, resembling gems, appear in the place of her eyes, the only things visible beneath her hood.
I can’t waste a second, I may not have my powers or my anger, but I’m not going down without a fight. I grab for the nearest gun, if I can dart her, maybe I can create an equal playing field. I have to try something at least. I fire a dart and move as swiftly as I can to avoid retaliation.
She fires a blast of yellow dusty energy out of her left palm, vaporizing the dart and a few of the corpses lying on the landing. I fire again and she easily turns the dart, and the part of the landing I was standing on into dust. She has good reflexes and she’s fucking powerful. It’s all I can do to dodge her. I’m not going to hit her from this far away, but getting close to her can’t be a good idea.
I fire another dart, positioning myself behind her, she turns in an instant and destroys the dart and the part of the wall I was taking cover by, back in the base proper. I hear a low, gruff chuckling from her. She’s toying with me, I’m not even a challenge right now. Fuck. I fiddle with my wrist communicator, glancing towards Exodus who’s advancing slowly towards me.
“Help,” I whisper into it. “No powers, I’ve been darted, I need the stimulant.”
No reply comes immediately, and I need to move again as she gets too close to me. I move back deeper into the fort and roll out of the way of another blast, it just misses my heel. If this hits me, I’m dead. Nobody, not even the most durable spirit-touched, has been able to survive Exodus’ using her power. I know that isolating myself is only going to make this harder, I know that’s exactly what she wants. I can’t call on my powers, but I’m brave and I’m a trained fighter.
I charge her while she has to recharge her power for a few seconds, firing two darts in rapid succession. She dodges both darts with ease and stands her ground as I charge at her.
“Suicide?” she asks in a monotone voice.
I get as close to her as I can safely, firing a dart at chest level, and sliding in desperation to get out of the way of her blast. I swear under my breath as she destroys the dart with one hand and grabs the barrel of my rifle with the other. All spirit-touched have superhuman reflexes, but her reflexes seem to be working faster than most of us. Maybe it’s just the fact that I’m human right now, but she may have enhanced reflexes as well. I hold onto the gun and try to pull the trigger. A dart fires into the ceiling harmlessly. I’m forced to let go as she turns the gun to dart and would have taken my arm with it. Now’s my opening.
I go low, slamming a hand on the ground and whipping my right leg around with as much force as I can muster. I hit her hard, striking cloth and chain. Her knees buckle as she falls to the ground, she starts to get up less than a second later, but I use what time I can to backpedal and speak into my communicator.
“How are we doing? I need help, immediately.” I whisper into the communicator.
“On it, as soon as Unicorn gets back, I’m sending you the stimulant.” Dragon’s voice responds after a few agonizing seconds.
“Will it work?”
“Yes.”
Exodus is advancing towards me pretty quickly and I’m running out of room on the platform. I assume a fighting stance and dodge under a beam of destructive energy. Before I can get back to my feet, I catch a sharp kick to the side of my head and go down hard. Feeling rough wrappings pressing against my neck. Exodus has her foot firmly planted there, keeping me in place as energy flows to her fist.
“Esther, please.” I start.
“Shut up.” She says.
“Why do you follow him? Why do you serve him?”
“This isn’t the part where you beg for your life, this isn’t the part where you buy yourself time, this is the part where you die, and I murder your friends, understand?”
“I…”
“Goodbye Phoenix.”
Everything around me goes dark.

The Mechanics of an Updike Novel We’ve all been touched by infidelity. Perhaps it was a father or mother that had an affair. Maybe it was close friends. Maybe it was you or your spouse. And no matter where you are in the spectrum there is hurt and a desire to understand what happened. Go to Amazon
Taboos & Truths Finally Uncloaked...and now we can learn I started following Esther Perel's work years ago when she did a riveting TEDtalk about infidelity & she authored a fascinating book called MATING IN CAPTIVITY. Both captivated me --not just because it's a titillating topic or because we were finally getting access to the underbelly of relationships that nobody openly discusses-- but because her work is full of human truths. About desire, love, the often inconvenient construct of marriage, egos, the secret longings people hide. Loneliness. Communication and the lack there of. Connection. Sexual alchemy. Marriage with and without kids. Trauma. Responsibility. She shines a light on all of it-- but never with sanctimony. Her work lets reality finally breathe.... uncloaked, so we can learn from it vs getting continually stuck in judgment. She discusses "what is" vs "what should be ....but never really was nor will be." These are often the same topics that come up when I coach clients, so her work rings achingly true. I've recommended her work to many clients whether they're married, dating or in between. Whether they have dealt first hand with infidelity or not. Why? Because Perel discusses the human condition in a new, enlightening way & her work reveals alternative ways to communicate & connect with those we love, about topics we've been dodging. It's authentic. So now her latest book, THE STATE OF AFFAIRS is out. Wow. Even juicier, deeper, more revealing and enlightening. Without meaning to, she may have written the first guidebook to having healthier relationships (with ourselves and others) in the REAL world, because she tells us the actual state of affairs, not that Face-tuned version. Yes it's about infidelity... but really it's about SO much more. Cannot recommend it highly enough. I listen to the Audible version in my car & also at night when I sit outside. It's like hanging out with your smartest girlfriend after she's traveled the world. So grateful for her honesty, hard work, passion and compassion-- all of which she shares with lucky us. IG aging.gracefully Go to Amazon
Well recommended for those seeking that greater understanding Perel in her analysis of infidelity moves well beyond the realms covered by earlier psychologists in her examination of the long term effects of infidelity. Writing in a very readable format, she also looks at the causative factors in considerable depth providing greater insight into the behavior of the unfaithful partner. In coupling this with elements of evolutionary psychology, she provides the reader with a balanced perspective of the relationship issues that arise both before, during and after infidelity has occurred. All in all, Perel takes the understanding of relationship infidelity to the next level! Well recommended for those seeking that greater understanding! Go to Amazon
Things that make you go, uummmm This book does make one rethink marriage and sexual exclusivity. Some parts actually several part brought on introspection of ones self and their current relationship (and past relationships). Needless to say I did a lot of highlighting in this book. I would definitly recommend this book. Go to Amazon
Clear writing on a difficult issue Clear and balanced writing, showing things are not as black and white as commonly assumed. The author's TED talk, which motivatrd me to get her books is well worth watching - and once you do, you too may decide to go for the long-firm version Go to Amazon
So smart I picked up this book after listening to the podcast. This is so much better! Insightful, and never condescending, this book really is great even if neither you nor your partner has contemplated infidelity (as far as you know, anyway!). Would recommend to anyone married. Go to Amazon
Bravely illuminating perspective on relationships and fidelity I can't even begin to give this book the plaudits it deserves. Esther Perel succeeds in taking us on a journey of self discovery through mining the experiences of contemporary homes. You leave the last page with an almost complete mental transformation in previously held bias about relationships, eroticism and fidelity. Go to Amazon
Enlightening must read! Very unique and enlightening book! A must read if you’re going through this Go to Amazon
Important Life Changing Research Four Stars Good perspective Excelent!! I love all the boosks of Esrher Amazing writer and psychologist Modern ideas that provoke and demand reflection Excellent deconstruction of marriage and infidelity in the 21st century Love Esther. LOVED it- fascinating
