Hey is it ok If i request platonic yandere iscream and fwench fry x child reader that somehow is they're bio child... Like they don't know how they Just know that we appered one day and Here we are... Have a nice day/night 💜💛 (sorry for Errors)
Yandere Iscream and Yandere Fwench Fwy w/ their biological child
Iscream x Reader x Fwench Fwy
Yandere Headcanons
Short Concept
Author’s note: This request is adorable!! These two would dedicate their lives and potentially end the literal world for a youngling of their own.
Iscream/Reader/Fwench Fwy [Platonic]
[Gender-neutral Darling|Female Darling|Male Darling]
Potential ⚠️TWs⚠️ :
Toxic parenting • Vulnerable/Easily influenced reader • Blood rituals mentioned • Forcing the child within morally questionable interests • Childishness/Narcissism(?) • Tantrums • Bloodthirst • Violent intrusive thoughts • Sweetie, you ain't gonna be raised good
- Iscream:
I personally interpret Iscream as much more clingy and hungry for attention as a yandere. They'd honestly behave too much like an attention seeking child themselves to give you the proper care for growing up in a healthy environment. A creature so desperate for attention and affection would cling to anyone who would offer it. Children are often known to be selfish and will often choose their own profit instead of looking out for those around them. And Iscream is no different here. They'll still care deeply for you of course, but they're just not capable of holding the role of a good parental figure, which is where things can go wrong fast.
A big problem regarding Iscream is that they prioritise their sense of validation more than caring for you like a proper, responsible adult. Just tagging you along to do activities they deem as exciting and mind-blowing enough for their liking, which would obviously be a huge ride of entertainment for a literal child... And though it might keep your adventure-craving mind entertained and happy, it isn't a very suitable way to be raising a child. They're prioritising having the role as the "fun parent" over what's actually good for you and your development. Their behaviour having a major influence on your sense of thoughts, maturity and eventual mentality. Which, though remotely enjoyable during your youthful days, is something that could really, negatively affect you in the long run.
Due to the fact that the schemes they plan and the morally concerning interests they have aren't really supported among the other characters, Iscream is quick to try and get influential with the strange things they enjoy doing. Therefore forcing their inappropriate hobbies onto you, who of course, doesn't know any better due to being so young and vulnerable. You wouldn't know any better and would likely deem a bunch of demon rituals and blood offerings as normal, even when it's clearly not. Something which may also come off as surprising is the fact that they are more laid-back regarding violence and overprotection than Fwench Fwy is. Although demon rituals are occasionally used excuse-wise to keep those around you obedient with the threatening blackmail, Iscream is a lot more hands off while their partner is more overbearing and involved in the emotional aspect of their child's life.
Because they'd be so desperate to come off as a good "role model" for their child, this would usually result in them dragging you along with some rather questionable activities, revealing sights to you that a newborn absolutely shouldn't be exposed to at such a young age. They would want you to feel impressed by what they're showing off to you and either gain praise or showcase interest for it. Something when not provided, is quick to put Iscream in a homicidal mood for a while or sometimes cause a tantrum.
A habit which I believe is easily capable of making a literal child feel guilty, afraid and misunderstood. You wouldn't even have the ability to slowly develop an identity of your own. Because Iscream would love to see your personality match their own, as selfish and narcissistic as that sounds. I've mentioned it before and I'll say it again, but somebody with an irresponsible and childish mentality doesn't have the qualities to care for a kid. They may be talented when it comes to entertaining you through physical activities and such, but they absolutely cannot be considered attentive to your emotional needs. Iscream cannot see and is not ready to accept that you aren't an extension of them. Failing to see that you're your own individual with separate feelings from theirs, and who will eventually grow up to be independent. Hereby struggling to be genuinely supportive.
- Fwench Fwy:
Fwenchie here is a bit more complicated than their partner is ...not only do they have a reputation to uphold among those they consider their friends. But they're also known to be an inspirational and wise figure to the others, a role Fwench Fwy takes pride in and something they don't want to risk losing. As soon as you made your appearance in the dragon's life, they were over the moon. They would take no hesitation in taking responsibility for you and caring for you like a real parent would. And they are definitely somewhat clingy and overbearing with it, constantly close to you and watching you, asking if you need your ‘mommy’ to do something for you. Trying to guide you through life by holding you by the hand.
And from an outside perspective, they genuinely seem like a good parent to you. Maybe a bit much sometime, but still holds good intentions nonetheless ...right? But when paying good attention, you'll start to notice just how consistent they are with it. Despite now also holding the role as a very nurturing parent, there's definitely a flaw that's quick upon being noticed when it comes to Fwench Fwy. Something that also includes the wish granting and isn't something the other characters would often consider to talk about or see it as strange.
Throughout Fwenchie's time with the others, they've been known to be quite casual with their powers, not having a lot of limitations with them... And only an occasional rejection being given when asked for a wish, often for thoughtful and somewhat understandable reasons. The same would of course count for you. You get your wishes when you ask for them, nothing too out of the ordinary here. But where the difference sets in with just how careless Fwench Fwy behaves with it...
Children are often known to get excited and reckless when their offerings are limitless. And when actively being spoiled just like that, it would only get harder to make them stop asking for more. In which, you are no different. And yet, Fwench Fwy allows all of it to just happen, giving in to any request you gave no matter how dangerous it might be to any mortals or even reality itself. Fwenchie has always been known to be quite a people pleaser, but they put zero restraints on you and expect no restrictions whatsoever. Shrugging the concerns of their peers off by saying they'll be able to handle trouble if it gets out of hand. But the damage would be far beyond recognition before they do so.
The thing about Frenchie is that they're desperate to appear behaved. They've always valued blending in and their bond with Chikn and the others a lot... so why? Why is their interest and respect for the group faltering? Why do they not care as much about them or their safeties anymore? Fwench Fwy has never stood to violence, they've never believed that aggression and vengeance was the right solution. So why do these hostile thoughts and animalistic instincts kick in whenever they notice you speaking to one of their morals allies? Why did they gain this thirst for violence...? It's something they're desperate to ignore and not own up to.
Fwench Fwy is also quick to get defensive whenever their strangely possessive nature towards you is brought up. They'll mainly try to avoid the topic by manipulating the conversation. But when confronted anyway, they try and assure the things they've done by giving these half-assed explanations on how dragons are known to be protective and care deeply for their spawn and will do anything to keep them satisfied. Yet completely disregarding the fact that spoiling them rotten to a point their offspring may become demanding and sometimes even difficult to deal with. In Fwenchie's eyes, it's something too insignificant to bring up.
But somewhere deep inside, they know they're just as mentally ill and deranged as Iscream is, if not even more so. Because unlike Iscream, Fwench Fwy just manages to cover it up. They're not as direct with the way they feel and are quick to hide their severe emotions behind a once trusting smile. Their obsession is just not something they want to admit to their sweet child or anyone for that matter. All they would do would be to try to convince themselves otherwise, and all of it will be fine. And in a way... Fwenchie is also fixated on the idea of feeling possessive over you. Something the others have certainly questioned on more than one occasion.
Resulting in either giving advice on how to behave more appropriately or offering them somebody to talk to in the meantime. Offerings Fwenchie has always rejected... because despite knowing it's wrong and so, SO toxic. They do not want to recover from their unhealthy condition. Realistically speaking, they know damn well about their obsession with their child, but they want to keep the toxic mentality. And you know what they say, you cannot help somebody who doesn't want to be helped. Iscream and Fwench Fwy are both no better than the other claims to be and will not hesitate to cause destruction and even warp reality for the sake of their little angel's amusement.
They're both just creating a freakshow for you to enjoy and anybody else has to pay the price for it.

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR NEVERAFTER FINALE
“If you were not fated by the hand of an author nor fated to suffer the endless times of shadow, how would you change your own story?”
Rosamund
“Once upon a time, there was a princess who decided to try speed dating.” Rosamund decides that she will learn what a spindle is and how to use one safely so she doesn’t prick herself at 18. When she encounters the wicked fairy on her 18th birthday, she meets her with expertise on spindles. The wicked fairy tries to stab her with it and Rosamund kicks her ass. Now she just has a cursed spindle and is otherwise an accomplished magical princess.
On an adventure with Gerard they come across a princess sleeping in a coffin. She smashes the glass coffin and performs CPR on Snow White. With no mouth mouth contact btw she uses all the like professional covers and shit. The apple isn’t even poison it’s just stuck in her throat. Rosamund lies and says it was poisoned. Snow White wakes up and doesn’t recognize them. Rosamund informs her that true love doesn’t exist. Snow White says that she likes all the dwarves, implying that she is now a polycule with the dwarves. Rock on.
Mother Goose
He is at home with Henry. He’s the guy in the village of Happily who is just always sitting in the shade who people can go to and ask question. He’s just a member of the community.
Jack in this world is a lightening fast messenger. He shows up one day and tells Henry he traded their cow for a jet black gander. The gander bashfully looks at Timothy. The gander tells Timothy that is he could have a wish, he would wish to wander with him. Henry builds a place on their property for the gander to live. The gander shakes off the will of its author and chooses to fly through the lands of fairy tale bearing a very wise witch on his back. Henry comes too btw. Jack is excited one of his schemes has panned out. Henry tells him sometimes his schemes are good and when they’re not, they’re just not. But he loves him both times.
Pinnochio
Surprising similar to his last one. Minus the conditional aspect and the pressure of needing to change into a real boy and the idea that that can only happen under the pretense of being perfect. He makes similar mistakes, just never with the punishment or the reprimand or the taking away that he experienced. He makes mistakes and learns just like a real boy.
This continues until his 21st birthday, when with his maternal figure (the fairy with turquoise hair), and his father, he makes a cocktail of whiskey and bubblegum and is turned into a real 21 year old boy. He still has a tremendous amount of magic. He is a young warlock. Gepetto smiles at him and tells him that curses and magic are strange, sometimes you’re a real boy sometimes you are not, but you are always my son. Pinnochio replies that Gepetto is always his father in a very deep voice. Pinnochio goes on adventures with cricket. He also shuts down the donkey shit on toy island.
Pib
“Once upon a time there was a cat who already finished his journey.” He’s starting at the point of already having finished his old story. He lives a life where he doesn’t have to think so hard to get what he wants. He just sits there and fills his belly. But every few weeks he gets the Prince of Marianne to throw a big feast to see if anyone has any need of help from the trickster prince. He can choose his own adventures, he’s no longer desperate to have to regain something he lost.
At one of these banquets a beautiful older woman approaches and says she knows she is speaking to a true trickster. She’s trying to be different, and that often he has helped those who are confused and bewildered. She asks if he will consider helping someone who knew exactly what they wanted. It is the stepmother, Minerva. She asks for help getting her daughters married. He agrees. They go to a ball in Marriane. Minerva says that her stepdaughter is great, she got married all on her own. She introduces him to the Princess Cinderella. He goes off on another adventure.
Gerard
Gerard is also going to pick up his story where his original story finished. “Once upon a time all the frog prince shit happened, then a bunch of other crazy shit happened, then on the way out of divorce court with his great friend/ex wife Elody Gerard suddenly transforms into a handsome prince with all the powers of a frog.” He plans on continuing to adventure and live the single life. Just a divorced man getting ripped. He works out with Tom Thumb (who now wakes up at 8 AM). He tries to keep in contact with everyone. Him and Rosamund constantly send letters back and forth about their terrible dates and talk shit about being single. He visits Timothy and his family, he visits Pinnochio for weekends at Toy Island, he plays gin rummy and curses with Ylfa, and he asks for Pib to help him get his kingdom back from his parents who were just kind of cool with him being a frog for so long which is fucked up.
Ylfa
The moral of her story was to obey authority figures. With her freedom, in classic teen fashion, she’s gonna redo her story so she’s a total little rebel. She’s straying all the time. She strays so deep in the woods that she meets and Baba Yaga and they get into shit together. Ylfa stays true to the things she loves about grandma culture: gin rummy and cursing. But now she doesn’t listen to authority at all. At some point Timothy comes to visit and sees that Ylfa and Baba Yaga are playing cards with a mannequin wearing the orange hat. As they should.
She meets some more friends and has a crush on a boy named Nochi. This is clearly Pinnochio. Pinnochio comes over to play gin rummy a lot. Years later when they are both twenty one they get together because why the fuck not. She seems the big bad wolf, wearing the orange hat, giving her a big thumbs up out the window as they kiss.

Weekly Tag Wednesday! (is that the order? I can never remember)
Ah! I missed the last few, I'm so sorry! Thank you to all who have tagged before and this time <3 @mybrainismelted @energievie @michellemisfit
Hello Wednesday friends! I hope you don't mind but I decided to be CrEaTiVe and try something different today. I hope it's okay!! 🚑💨 Get in bitch, we're going on a mystical adventure through space, time, and reality. (in ian and mickey's ambulance of course) ✨ Name: Scurv (y'all, I am so tired, I almost wrote my government name)
Zodiac Sign: Taurus
Personality type in enneagram, myers-briggs, or both: I think my Meyers-Briggs' is INFP but not to get all psych degree but it's actually hella unreliable and not accurate and -
Before we hit the road, what snack are you gonna bring for our trip? Peanut M&M's and Jalapeno Chips
Navigator gets to pick the music so what song are you turning on? Telephone by Lady Gaga ft. Beyonce
What is a universe from a fantasy tv show you would like to visit? Avatar: The Last Airbender! I wanna be a bender (a water bender!)
And what about a fantasy movie? Howl's Moving Castle. I almost said LOTR but to actually be in...I think the magic aspects of Howl's Moving Castle fits my vibe better overall
Okay, how about a scifi tv show? Oh man, I don't watch many scifi TV shows, hmm....I really don't know, maybe Star Trek but I never really watched it!
And a scifi movie universe? I guess Star Wars, I think it'd be cool to see Coruscant
Any other tv show or movie universes you'd like to swing by before we move on? Fuck it, let's go to the Shire and get blazed
Okay hold on to your butts we're switching gears to fanfic universes. Tell me which fanfic universe we're visiting first? Like by an author? I don't really follow anyone religiously in the Shameless fandom and I skew towards more realistic AU's if that makes sense? Now if we are talking about ALL of my fandoms, I am sending myself to the LG Frat AU I made YEARS ago with friends in the Dragon Age fandom that to this day remains one of the coolest fan things I've ever contributed to.
Cool, do you have one more you'd like to stop at before we head home? Can I choose one I made? Because I'd also like to visit my House Witch AU I made for Dragon Age OC's. Still proud of that as well. (to my Shameless folks, I originate in the DA fandom here, so most of my catalogue is gonna be from there)
Alright, on our way out of fanfic land you get to snag some tropes to bring home and apply to your own life, think fast! soulmates or enemies to lovers // coffee shop or flower shop // fake relationship or slow burn // amnesia or time loop (neither lol) // body swap or miscommunication // love triangle or arranged marriage // sharing a bed or drunken confession (BOTH)
Wow okay, hope those tropes work out for you!! Our adventure has finally come to an end, where in the world am I dropping you off? Georgia, USA
tagging @lupeloto @golden28s @jademickian um...I am so sorry you guys, I am so tired I can't think of anymore off the top of my head - if you see this, I tagged you!!! <3

Tri-Arame - Fallen Knight
Primary Pairing/Trio: SetsuAyu/YuuAyuSetsu Words: 680 Rating: T Time Frame: Sometime during their 2nd year in HS Prompt: Forgotten Content Warning: Major Character Death... sorta... Reminder: Setsuna wrote a sort of "choose your own adventure" style story where fans got to vote on various aspects between each installment
---------
Author's Note: Bonus 2nd entry for the 11th.
Also, this chapter was inspired by this lovely work by @myonmukyuu
Summary: Setsuna fails to save Ayumu
---------
A broken sword clattered to the ground at the base of a ruined wall. A moment later, a battered knight collapsed against loosened stones.
The battle was over. The dragon had been defeated and its keep destroyed.
And yet… it had all been for naught.
The Sun Princess was dead.
Ayumu was…
Setsuna’s vision blurred as tears threatened to spill from her eyes.
She had failed her quest. She had failed her childhood friend. She had failed…
“Ayumu…” The name tumbled from her lips as she dug into her pouch.
Setsuna stared at the pendant in her hand. The necklace had been a gift she had given Ayumu years ago and the princess had ended up wearing it every day since. As they grew older, Setsuna had become embarrassed and self-conscious that a lowly knight’s gift to a princess would be so proudly and prominently displayed despite other fancier and more expensive gifts having been given by higher ranking nobility over the years. Yet Ayumu insisted, and Setsuna had always loved that side of her.
And now the trinket was all she had left.
Setsuna had secreted the necklace away before the clerics came to collect Ayumu’s body and return it to the kingdom for a proper burial. They had paid no mind to the fallen knight as she slipped away into the shadows.
Fallen knight…
Was she even a knight anymore? What was a knight without a princess to serve?
Slowly, Setsuna raised the pendant to her lips and kissed it gently. A kiss she had secretly longed to share with the love of her life, no matter how unbecoming it may have been for one of her position. But now that dream was gone. And nothing else seemed to matter.
The kingdom would mourn but would recover. It was not too late for a new heir to the throne to be born. Ayumu’s name would be remembered for generations to come. A new holiday would likely be created and dedicated to her.
But the pitiful knight who had allowed her demise would be forgotten.
Setsuna’s arm felt heavy, and while she dropped it into her lap, she refused to let go of the pendant. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed red had stained the dirt around her. Her shoulders slumped and her head lolled forward. She took one last labored breath… and…
---------
“Someone’s been spending too much time with Shizuku-chan.” Yuu commented. “What have you guys been up to in your subgroup practice?”
“The tragic death of a hero is a common trope.” Setsuna insisted. “And a good multi-path story needs a Bad End or two.”
“Well, I will be voting for the Good End.”
“Not the True End?”
“Whichever is happier for Setsuna-chan and Ayumu.”
“Mm? What about me?” Ayumu asked from the clubroom door.
“A-Ayumu-san?!” Setsuna sputtered, scrambling to collect the pages.
Yuu laughed. “She’s gonna find out eventually, Setsuna-chan. Especially if the fans vote for the Bad End.”
“Bad End?” Ayumu repeated as she moved toward the table where the other two were sitting.
“The knight fails and the princess dies.” Yuu summarized. “Actually they both die.”
“I… I’m sorry, Ayumu-san…” Setsuna said as she felt herself blush.
Ayumu laughed lightly as she took a seat next to her. “You don’t need to apologize, Setsuna-chan. I knew an ending like that was possible the moment you started explaining how the choices made in visual novels affect the outcome and how you wanted to do something similar with your story.”
“Oh…”
“May I read it?”
Still hesitant, Setsuna eventually slid the pages over to Ayumu.
Ayumu read swiftly but seriously. “I see.” She said after a moment. “That is a Bad End. However, wouldn’t it be more tragic if just one of them survived?”
Yuu guffawed. “Ayumu’s been infected by Shizuku-chan’s tragic obsession as well.”
“Ayumu-san would be willing to let me write that?” Setsuna asked.
“Yes.” Ayumu nodded. “I think those should be options, even if I would vote for the True End.”
“Alright. Let me think about some scenes tonight.”
---------
Author's Note Continued: I've been wanting to write something for that fanart for a while now, but it's been sitting on the back burner as I continue to focus on other things. I'm not entirely sure why this prompt, of all prompts, was what stirred my µ's muse enough to write this in a lunch break at work. But I'm definitely not complaining.
That said, this is yet another event entry I will need to come back to and expand before I fit it into its parent fic. I think there is a lot more I can do with this to make it even better. Or if nothing else, expand the arc.
Now if only I could find a translation of Setsuna's novel...

20 questions for fic writers
@whataboutthefish tagged me - thanks Fishie!!
First, my AO3
How many works do you have on AO3?
191
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
2,150,989
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Supernatural, Stranger Things, Fargo, Stargate, Dickensian, The Blacklist, The X-Files, Angel the Series & Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and I'm probably gonna pick up a few more soon.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
CONventional Psychopathy 'Verse - SPN AU Tumblr Ask Box Requests - SPN 40 ficlet challenge Alpha House 'Verse - SPN AU Resonance 'Verse - SPN canon verse with angel sounds Best Brother Ever - SPN with a technique that has gotten me the most questions from readers saying "does that really work?" Yes it does.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do, but sometimes it takes me a while to respond because I get weird and shy about it at times. I love comments and read them over again when I need a boost!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't usually have angsty endings, but with CH challenge fics I go ahead and do shit I don't normally do - so Inside (SPN) would be the angstiest ending.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Probably Splintered - ST fic where I throw a lot of shit at the guys but they all get a happy ending.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Yup. I delete comments and asks immediately though so readers and followers hopefully never see any of it. I don't play that game.
9. Do you write smut?
SO MUCH. SOOOOO much.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Open Sesame Street Walker has to be the wildest one I've done. It was a challenge fic. A choose your own adventure style thing, and I wanted to make every outcome disturbing. I did it, but at the cost of ruining Sesame Street for myself and others 😂
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yup. CON 'verse is still being sold on a bunch of sites and the "author" is continuing to add more books to the series. I've tried a few times to get them taken down but only succeeded in getting things taken down for a few months. Out of all the fics that could've been stolen, that's the one that's the WORST because I'm also writing it as original fic and have been for years. I've got proof of that, but if retailers fight me on it when I try to publish, it's gonna suck.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes. A few.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I wrote a few years ago but haven't in a while. I'd like to do it again!
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
No way I can answer that. I'm definitely a multshipper at heart, and I can't even decide on favorite characters, let alone a favorite ship!
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Rewritten in the Stars is something I'd love to finish, but I don't know if I'll ever be able to get in the headspace again. It's complicated and rewrites aspects of the characters while sticking closely to canon with a lot of moving parts over a 30-year time frame. The first part of the series feels complete if you read it, but I have 30k written of part 2 and a full outline for part 3.
16. What are your writing strengths?
The thing I get complimented on the most is my worldbuilding. I also think I'm good at natural dialogue - making it sound like actual speech instead of written word.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I have trouble condensing things and it gets wordy 😭
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I've kinda sorta done it with alien language and angel language, a few words here and there of other languages - most of it just English in italics to show that it's not being said in English. I don't think I'd ever try and use an actual language I didn't know for more than a word or two.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Stargate SG1
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
CON 'verse is and probably always will be my favorite. 💜
Tagging from my activity list with no obligation to do it: @actualalligator @medusapelagia @wheels-of-despair @kallisto-k @ltleflrt @peachonified @underwater-ninja-13
If anybody else wants to play, please tag me so I can see your stuff!

An Exploration of Tattoo Culture in the Gilded River
-By Professor Matakare of Anthropology, documented in Traveling and Wandering - A Study of Peoples and Cultures Across the Globe
Coming from a culture that does not partake in tattoos, it was fascinating to examine the rich tattoo culture of the Gilded River. There are rules, artisans, and histories behind every permanent mark on a person’s skin. Equal parts fascinating and wonderful, learning along side my dear Masha as he discovered this aspect of his own culture, embracing it with his full heart.
The first tattoo that many receive is on the upper back. It’s also often the largest individual design a person is likely to receive. It is the family tattoo, a family crest if that makes it easier to understand. It’s unique to each family, varying in complexity depending on how old or important the family is. A child who reaches the age of 16 receives the tattoo, the same one on their father’s back. If there is need for a new family design, for whatever reason, the temples are consulted. They either opt to adopt an extinct family’s design, or work to form an entirely new one.
The next is one on their arms. When a newly entered adult begins a trade, they start as an apprentice. When the apprenticeship is complete, they receive their first skill tattoo, starting on the upper half of their dominant arm, leaving room to add more as they grow in skill or change trade.
As they grow older, with some luck the young man or woman might gain a mark on their lower back. This is a marriage tattoo, often a modified version of their partner’s family design. When Masha and I got married, since I was a foreigner without a family crest in this culture, he consulted a temple worker to create a design to put on his back, in my honor. I also partook to add a mark to my own back, much to the surprise of anyone who happens to spot me in a bathhouse back home.
As people grow and age, they gain experiences and triumphs under their belt. Special, noteworthy achievements are memorialized on the chest for all to see. There are many designs, too many to list here, but the most common one I’ve seen is the mark of parenthood. I can’t imagine it is easy rearing children in the desert, so I understand their celebration. When their oldest children reach their coming of age, both parents receive their mark. Others I’ve seen denote brave warriors who fought with valor in battle, or inspirational leaders who navigated a crisis. Masha actually received a rather rare mark on his chest, one of the Globe Trotter. I suppose him following me on this adventure really paid off in that regard. He also tracked down a community of his people when we returned home, and added his own mark of parenthood when our girls came of age. The tattoo artisan we spoke with also decided to make a mark for me. He’s seen the scars on my chest, and decided they were their own mark of valor when I explained what they were. He decorated them “In honor of your discover of self.” I am not ashamed to admit I cried.
I think I might’ve gotten sidetracked, so I will add a few final thoughts here. There are two other noteworthy locations for tattoos, the head and stomach, and the legs. The head and stomach are grouped together, as sacred places on the body, containing the mind and spirit respectively. Only holy men are to tattoo these regions, with the Sun King having nearly his whole face covered from what I could see and gather. Finally, the legs are for personalized designs. Aesthetic markings, memorials, celebrations, those are meant for the thighs.
As I had said before, there is a rich culture of designs and histories here, more so than this short passage could give justice. I encourage anyone curious to seek out a community of the Gilded Rivers, there’s often neighborhoods where they congregate, and ask about it yourself. Consider yourself honored if they choose to share in this tradition with you.

How do your characters feel about brothels and/or sex for money or favors? Is it something they would consider doing, and if so, in what situations?
How do your characters feel about marriage, and what do the believe constitutes a matrimonial bond? (i.e. choosing each other vs having it officiated in a church, is it about exclusivity with sex or more a socially beneficial bond, etc etc)
Are there any kinks your characters really want to try but have been too anxious to ask a partner for?
While Y'dehlya is pretty open-minded over what people do with their bodies in cases of them freely choosing what that would be, and is very confident in her own, she's not about to commodify herself, so to speak. Not her style. Unless it was for a mission, then she'll gladly play into using her charms, wiles, and assets. When learning of situations where "freely choosing" wasn't necessarily the case, she's also understanding of that and doesn't think any less. When it comes to patrons of such services, she has an instinct to side-eye if she ever starts feeling fetishized.
2a. Kouh'to never really formed any strong opinions on officiating a matrimonial bonds. His parents are married by official records and refer to themselves as such, but they aren't married to whatever other partners they have. Sounds straightforward enough to him. None of his grandparents were officially married, either. Marriage to Kouh'to is just a ceremonial something that promises commitment, whatever that entails. He also never put much consideration into himself getting married, consigning himself to the wandering life of a male Moonkeeper once he confirmed that he didn't identify much with his father's culture, but also just the fact that he's a loner by nature and never got close with anyone enough to develop any sort of interest. Wasn't confident enough to.
But would he get married and how would he go about it? He's never even fallen in...anything with anyone (yet). Not much thought put into that aspect of his adult life. Oh, but when he does fall in love with someone and recognizes it as such, it's going to hurt.
2b. Actual thoughts about marriage didn't cross U'reksh's mind for most of his journey aside from "something people in certain relationships not within Miqo'te tribes do to make things official". He grew up in a traditional Sunseeker tribe, but he was mostly focused on the position of leadership a nunh denoted in his specific tribe and the strength needed to be that once he was old enough to learn in full about what becoming a nunh entailed. The further along the MSQ he goes and the more fame/infamy he garners, the more the folks at home remark that he's "growing too big" for the tribe; that while he would be welcomed back with open arms and would make such a fine nunh now, the world needs him more. U'reksh himself has gradually felt this himself, too, and there came a point where he gave up the tribe aspect of why he initially set out to become an adventurer.
So, has the thought of marriage crossed his mind now that he's done that and now has a girlfriend? It's probably in the very back of his mind, given that the MSQ is taking up most of the space.
2c. For the record, Y'dehlya, romantic at heart who falls in love a bit too easily, would absolutely want to get married for love. Maybe a ceremony, too, for added official-ness. Finds the whole thing just romantic. Y'kouha does think similarly, but he's a bit too stuck in his Rogues' Guild work to actually find someone to commit to.
3. Off the top of my head, no. Unless you'd count Y'kouha wrestling with being called "nunh" in bed, because he only refers and is referred to as such when really exerting his authority as one of the highest-ranking members of the Rogues' Guild and otherwise would not want to be called that.

Maladaptive Daydreaming: Why You Find It Hard to Face Reality as A Daydreamer?
Today, I'll be addressing the question of why it is challenging to face reality, specifically for maladaptive daydreamers. There are two aspects to consider in this equation: the aspect of comparison and the aspect of neglect.
Firstly, let's discuss the aspect of comparison. When you engage in maladaptive daydreaming, you create an imaginary world where everything goes smoothly. Whether it's successful relationships, a fulfilling job, or exciting adventures, you build a realm where things are under your control. Consequently, when you return to the real world where things don't always go your way, your mind naturally compares the two. The constant comparison makes it extremely difficult to face reality because the challenges, rejections, and uncertainties of the real-world contrast with the idealized version in your daydreams. Accepting the imperfections and uncertainties of reality becomes a formidable task.
The second aspect is neglect. Maladaptive daydreamers often spend 3 to 7 hours a day immersed in their imaginative worlds, neglecting the responsibilities and opportunities of real life. By investing significant time in building imaginary relationships, careers, or scenarios, they may unintentionally neglect building these aspects in the tangible world. This neglect can lead to a lack of friends, job opportunities, and motivation to pursue real-life goals. Physical health may also be compromised. When you neglect these essential aspects of life for an extended period, the challenges pile up, making it overwhelming to face reality.
As these neglected aspects accumulate, it becomes increasingly challenging to confront the reality you've avoided for so long. The obligations, debts, assignments, and unfulfilled responsibilities become a weight that seems insurmountable. This mounting pressure makes it even more difficult to face the reality you've been evading.
In conclusion, facing reality is a conscious choice that maladaptive daydreamers must make. Despite the difficulty, avoiding reality can lead to overwhelming pain and the breakdown of coping mechanisms. It's crucial to acknowledge the comparison between the imaginary and real worlds and address the neglect that has accumulated. Choosing to face reality, no matter how challenging, is a necessary step for personal growth and well-being.

Why San Blas Islands are a must-visit destination
The San Blas Islands, also known as the Guna Yala Islands, are a hidden gem nestled in the Caribbean Sea off the coast of Panama. Comprising over 300 islands and cays, this archipelago is renowned for its pristine beauty, vibrant marine life, and the rich cultural heritage of the indigenous Guna Yala people. The islands offer a rare opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life and immerse oneself in a world of natural splendor and cultural authenticity.
Visitors to the San Blas Islands are greeted by postcard-perfect scenes of turquoise waters, palm-fringed beaches, and lush tropical vegetation. The absence of large-scale tourism development has preserved the islands' unspoiled charm, making it a haven for eco-conscious travelers and those seeking a truly off-the-beaten-path experience. The unique blend of natural beauty and cultural immersion makes the San Blas Islands a must-visit destination for those in search of a genuine and enriching travel experience.
Planning your San Blas Island tour
When planning a visit to the San Blas Islands, it's essential to consider the logistics and arrangements necessary for a smooth and enjoyable journey. As the islands are primarily inhabited by the Guna Yala community, it is important to respect their customs and traditions while also adhering to the guidelines set forth by the local authorities. One of the most common ways to explore the San Blas Islands is through organized tours offered by local operators, providing visitors with the opportunity to experience the islands' beauty while supporting the local economy.
Visitors can choose from a variety of tour options, ranging from day trips to multi-day excursions that include overnight stays on selected islands. It's advisable to make tour arrangements in advance to secure your preferred itinerary, especially during peak travel seasons. Additionally, as the islands are relatively remote, it's important to plan for transportation to and from the departure point, which is typically from the mainland of Panama. Whether traveling independently or as part of a guided tour, careful planning ensures a seamless and memorable San Blas Island tour experience.
The best time to visit San Blas Islands
The best time to visit the San Blas Islands is during the dry season, which typically spans from December to April. During this period, the weather is characterized by clear skies, sunny days, and calm seas, creating ideal conditions for exploring the islands and partaking in various water-based activities such as snorkeling, swimming, and kayaking. The dry season also offers opportunities for wildlife sightings, including encounters with sea turtles, colorful fish, and other marine creatures that inhabit the surrounding coral reefs.
While the dry season is generally favored for its favorable weather, it's important to note that the San Blas Islands enjoy a warm and tropical climate year-round. Travelers visiting outside the peak season can still experience the islands' natural beauty and cultural heritage, albeit with the possibility of occasional rain showers. Regardless of the time of year, the San Blas Islands exude an enchanting allure that captivates visitors with its timeless appeal and untouched splendor.
What to expect on a San Blas Island tour
A San Blas Island tour promises a diverse array of experiences, each offering a unique perspective on the islands' natural beauty and cultural significance. Upon arriving at the islands, visitors are greeted by the sight of pristine beaches, swaying coconut palms, and the inviting azure waters of the Caribbean Sea. Whether relaxing on the beach, exploring underwater wonders, or engaging with the local community, the San Blas tour presents an abundance of opportunities for discovery and adventure.
The islands are home to a myriad of stunning snorkeling and diving sites, allowing visitors to marvel at the kaleidoscopic coral reefs teeming with marine life. Snorkeling excursions provide an up-close encounter with colorful fish, graceful sea turtles, and an assortment of vibrant coral formations, making for an unforgettable underwater experience. Additionally, the islands are dotted with hiking trails, providing opportunities to explore the lush interior landscapes and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding seascape.
Activities and attractions on San Blas Islands
In addition to snorkeling and hiking, the San Blas Islands offer a wealth of activities and attractions that cater to a diverse range of interests. Visitors can partake in traditional sailing experiences aboard indigenous dugout canoes known as "ulu," offering a glimpse into the seafaring heritage of the Guna Yala people. Cultural encounters abound as travelers engage with local artisans, learning about traditional crafts such as mola embroidery and intricately woven textiles that showcase the artistry and cultural traditions of the Guna Yala community.
For those seeking relaxation, the islands provide ample opportunities to unwind and soak in the tranquil ambiance. Hammocks strung between swaying palms invite moments of blissful repose, while beachside picnics and sunset strolls along the shore create idyllic settings for cherished memories. Visitors can also indulge in freshly prepared seafood and traditional Guna cuisine, savoring the flavors of the islands while enjoying the hospitality of the local community. Whether seeking adventure or tranquility, the San Blas Islands cater to a range of preferences, ensuring a fulfilling and captivating experience for all.
The indigenous culture of the Kuna Yala people
Central to the allure of the San Blas Islands is the rich and enduring culture of the indigenous Guna Yala people, who have inhabited the archipelago for centuries. The Guna community takes great pride in preserving their cultural heritage, evident in the traditional attire, customs, and social organization that define their way of life. Visitors to the islands have the opportunity to engage with the Guna Yala people, gaining insight into their traditions, beliefs, and daily rituals.
One of the most distinctive aspects of Guna culture is the art of mola, a form of textile artistry that involves the creation of intricately designed fabric panels through a process of reverse appliqué. Molas often depict scenes from Guna mythology, wildlife, and geometric patterns, serving as a visual expression of the Guna people's spiritual beliefs and connection to the natural world. Additionally, travelers may witness traditional Guna dances and ceremonies, further immersing themselves in the vibrant cultural tapestry that defines life in the San Blas Islands.
Tips for an unforgettable San Blas Island tour
To ensure an unforgettable and respectful experience when visiting the San Blas Islands, it's essential to observe certain guidelines and cultural sensitivities. Respect for the environment and local traditions is paramount, with visitors encouraged to minimize their ecological footprint and engage in responsible tourism practices. This includes refraining from leaving behind any waste, being mindful of wildlife, and supporting local initiatives that promote sustainable development and conservation efforts.
Furthermore, it's important to approach interactions with the Guna Yala people with sensitivity and respect. Seeking permission before taking photographs, refraining from invasive inquiries about personal matters, and supporting the local economy through the purchase of handmade crafts are all ways to demonstrate consideration for the community. By embracing a spirit of cultural exchange and fostering positive engagement with the local inhabitants, visitors can contribute to the preservation of the islands' heritage and create meaningful connections with the Guna Yala people.

The Xiang Chronicles: Book Two Chapter 2
Title: The Xiang Chronicles: Book Two
Author: Jay Grayson
Word Count: 98k
Genres: Fantasy, adventure, drama, LGBT+
Available on: my website
Synopsis: With another Xiang in the mix, for the first time in history, Pangu decides to reevaluate his methods and his place in the world. Along with taking his little sister Heidi as his last disciple, he also chooses to take the more political path in his efforts to end the discord throughout the land—particularly within Terra. (And gaining favor from the handsome Lord of Ultimos does not hurt.)
Heidi butts heads with everyone in the group, save Raine, and tensions are higher than ever. There are failed love confessions, in-group fighting, and demons from Kira’s past but that all comes to a head when they meet a servant of Shakti who is more than what she seems.
Could it be that the Mistresses of Shadow are more nuanced than previously believed? Or that the strict dichotomy between light and dark are, perhaps, a touch exaggerated? That and more begin to plague Pangu’s mind and his faith wavers…
Full chapter 2 under the cut
Chapter II:
The façade of the inn was just as grand as the rest of Ultimos but, at eye level, the building was nigh covered in posters and flyers for promotional events throughout the city. One was much larger than the others and had eye-catching colors. Pangu scanned over it to read “Have more stuff than you need? Sell it here!” He tilted his head to the side in slight amusement. Of course, if there was a city in the world where the citizens might suffer from excess, it would be Ultimos.
The charming (although a tad disarming) poster only served as a temporary distraction for Pangu. He was still outside the inn and he still needed to walk through the doors and find his old mentors. He did not want to, not in the least, but he knew he needed to.
Tracking them down had felt task enough so he should see it through. With how many inns and hotels there were in the city, he had to use his energy to feel for them. Luckily, they had not been masking that aspect so their location lit up like a beacon. A small one—far across the city—but a beacon none the less.
Pangu blew out his exhale and then stepped inside.
People walked about, busy with their own lives, and he had to maneuver around quite a few bodies to find his old teachers. They were not holed up in a room as he expected but in a lounge area, surrounded by books and scrolls. And, although they were technically out in the open, no one else in the inn bothered them. Not even when Merra started to lift one of the books into the air without touching it.
Pangu had to only walk a few steps into their space before all eyes were on him. Merra dropped her book and sat up straighter to address him. “Xiang, hello.”
“Pangu,” Zhu said tersely and stood. “We were hoping to speak with you.”
At that, Hwang leaned over to Merra and told her, lowly, but still loud enough for Pangu to hear, “Go and practice in your room.”
The new Xiang nodded, collected an armful of books, and then left. Once she passed by the last table of the lounge area and into the crowd at large, a series of “ooh”s and “aah”s erupted and the people flocked to her as if they were seeing her for the first time.
“You seem confused,” Jun mentioned with a chuckle. He was talking, naturally, about the scrunched face Pangu was pulling as he watched the scene.
“We are hidden from sight,” Gong carried on explaining, “To the people, this area appears as a decorative fixture in the inn. That way only those we wished to see—you—could approach us.”
Pangu turned back to them and noticed a very similar expression across all their faces. He felt ten years old again so he slowly took a seat and set his hands on his lap. Just like when he was a child, he knew he had to say something but he did not know where to start.
Luckily, Zhu started for him. Unluckily, he was not in the best of moods. Although, to be fair, he hardly ever was. “You know what we will say…do you not?”
“That I have failed in my duties?” Pangu hazarded a guess.
There was no immediate answer though Gong did reflexively shake his head. At least one of them was willing to stick by him, Pangu thought.
He swallowed hard and tried again. “The spirits talked to me already…”
“And you ignored their council,” Zhu snapped back. He did not raise his voice or even have much anger present in his words but Pangu still fought the urge to shrink away.
“Why is it that you refuse to listen to them?” Hwang asked.
Pangu shifted his eyes between the four of them, unable to maintain contact. “I…I know my disciples. I chose them for a reason, and I do not intend to give up on them just because of their pasts. I would choose no others and I trust in my own instinct. I know it is not the best idea from your perspective but I believe in them.”
“One is a Chaaya, Pangu,” Zhu said and narrowed his eyes.
“He was one,” he corrected. “You could think of it this way: I am keeping an enemy closer and unable to do ‘evil’. You could even argue that I have reformed him.” Though Pangu, personally, did not think of it in such terms, he knew that particular framing could alter some of his mentor’s view points. Or so he was hoping.
The men exchanged glances. Then Jun asked, “You will not change your mind?”
Pangu shook his head and briefly let his eyes stay closed. “I am sorry, but no.”
Zhu let out a sigh that was loud and filled with frustration but, despite that, he moved on. “So, when do you intend to find a fourth disciple?”
It was a reasonable question and one Pangu had been thinking about quite a lot, especially during his recovery when he had little else to do besides think. Yet, he decided to turn the questioning to them. “Will Merra be getting disciples as well?”
“Yes, of course,” Hwang answered quickly.
“We will be helping her pick them out,” Jun added.
Pangu had a feeling that was due to his “failure” in the area. He straightened his back and returned to their question. “I was thinking of asking Heidi.”
There were several reasons as to why and the primary reason—which he would never tell her directly—was that choosing her would keep him from having to travel all the way back to Enlil any time soon. He would need to return eventually, of course, but he had a lot on his plate right now that would make the trip highly inconvenient. Then, there was the fact that he knew (or he hoped anyway) that his mentors would approve of her. They knew her resonance and her character so there would be no friction between him and the spirits about the choice.
Finally, there was the more personal reason. While Pangu found himself on edge around his sister and perpetually exhausted by her one-sided sibling rivalry, he did wish to do this for her. She had spent her entire life in his shadow, feeling left behind. Unlocking her ability to interact with the air around her and giving her a power to call her own would be, in a way, a type of amends.
The four old men looked at one another, a hesitant acceptance making its way onto their faces. Each started to nod at a different pace before Gong said, “I think that’s an excellent choice.”
Pangu smiled in relief. “Good. Now, once I have her as my last disciple, I was wondering what all you want of me. With another Xiang in the picture I…I was wondering if my role or my duties would change.”
There had definitely been some conversation about the matter with how their eyes met. In fact, they were probably carrying on a telepathic conversation right at the moment that Pangu could not hear.
He leaned in when Hwang opened his mouth, curious and nervous to hear the verdict. “Well, Pangu, the thing is…”
***
“It is not creepy,” Raine argued as he adjusted his hold on Kira’s hand. With the gloves off he could see the dark spots and the black on his fingertips and under his nails. It was not as bad as it had been right after the miasma burst through its hold but there were some stubborn splotches that refused to disappear.
“Is too,” Kira argued right back.
Raine half-rolled his eyes as he flipped the man’s hands over and pressed a thumb into each of his palms. The energy flow in him was stable and quite strong as well. He had, pretty much, completely recovered physically and spiritually. Although his attitude about spiritual topics was still an issue.
Apparently, the spirits being able to see and hear everything at all times was not a comforting thought to Kira. He saw only the negative side of it and would not be swayed.
Raine did not agree, of course, but he also could not fight the smile that pulled at the corner of his lips. “Honestly, I am just glad you did not state your opinion in front of the Heavenly Princes.”
“Anything I said or did would reflect back onto Pangu,” Kira explained with a sigh. While he had wanted to speak his mind, he knew it was a lot more precarious than it seemed. He would not just be hurting himself with any possible backlash from the obtusely powerful men but he could be hurting Pangu as well.
“That is very mature of you,” Raine commented and pushed his thumbs against the meat of his palm. There was no reason to keep holding onto him but he started to give him something of a hand massage anyway.
Kira noticed and thought of drawing his hands back but decided to indulge a little. He lifted his eyes up to the dark, almost midnight blue of Raine’s irises. He spent too much time looking at him, he decided, as he realized he knew all of the details of his face and was hard pressed to find something new to discover. But, instead of saying anything on his mind, Kira retorted, “I can be mature.”
Raine snickered. “Of course. I am just glad you picked the right time to show it.”
He continued to run his thumbs along the mounds and plateaus of Kira’s palm, making him gulp out of nervousness. The touch, while nice, was starting to breach into a more intimate territory which Kira was sure was not his intent. So he gently pulled back and asked, “Why do those heavenly princes disguise themselves as old men anyway? Why not walk around town with a glowing crown and a perfect face?”
“They were not always divine,” Raine answered and started to fidget with his hands now that he had nothing to hold onto. “They were regular men who ascended to their status so they keep a more human appearance. Something, I guess, is reminiscent of their old appearance.”
“Old?”
He chuckled. “Yes, I suppose. And, while they are directly under Tiandi, they are not meant to be worshipped to the same degree. That is why they take off the ‘Tian’ prefix in their names when they are in our realm.”
“Even Pangu treats them like regular old dudes,” Kira mentioned with a smirk. Had it not been for the Xiang using the men’s names and plenty of context clues, there was a chance he would have never figured out that his mentors were also the four Heavenly Princes. Pangu never stated so up front.
Raine returned with a quiet laugh of his own. “True. But they are also like his parents, in a way.”
“Hopefully they are not scolding him…” Kira had a feeling they were.
Raine did too. But he did not wish to linger on such a possibility, much less speculate on the matter. “We should meditate…like he asked.”
“I guess so.” Kira shrugged and then asked, “Is my spiritual body or whatever alright?”
With a quick pat to the shoulder and a persisting smile, Raine replied, “You are pretty much all better. Pangu should do a once-over in case I missed anything but I bet you will be back to typical training in no time.”
While the two of them settled down on the floor to begin their meditation, Baiya was on the ground level of the palace by the front entrance, trapped in a predicament of his own making. Well, partly Pangu’s making as well.
When the Xiang had asked him to collect information from Oli, he doubted he expected the young man to be so well versed. Baiya had only asked what he thought was a simple and vague question, “So, what can you tell me about Feng?”
As it turned out, everything.
Oli was far more excited by the question than Baiya had anticipated and even ran off momentarily only to return with an arm full of books and documents to help answer his question. He went over the history of the Feng territory, the previous clan leader, the current clan leader, the economic situation, information about the three major cities, their imports and exports, their crime rates, and even their delicacies.
It was an overload and Baiya was not sure when it had happened but he had definitely stopped listening. He was just nodding periodically and humming, “Uh huh” which kept the kid going a mile a minute.
Sweat even started to dampen Baiya’s hairline as he began to worry he would be stuck there forever. He longed for someone to return to the palace. He would even take a break from Viren. Or Heidi.
“Oh, and circling back to Lord Fei Kuta Sim, there are rumors about his wife being the one actually in charge. And of course these are just rumors so it would be wise to not mention them. I just thought I should let you know in case you notice it firsthand. That way you do not say something by accident and offend him, right? So, that is something to keep in mind too,” Oli rambled with a huge grin still intact.
The door to the palace opening was the reprieve Baiya was looking for and, even better than Viren walking through the entrance was Pangu. He could not help but jump up and rush over.
“Pangu!” He grinned and was tailed by Oli who continued to clutch a scroll between his hands. “How did things go?”
“Alright.” The Xiang shrugged. “Did Heidi come back?”
Baiya shook his head. “I have been here with Oli almost the entire time you were gone. No one has come through.” No one, he stressed mentally.
Pangu pursed his lips for a second before glancing up to the stairs. “Are Raine and Kira up there?”
“Yes, or, so I assume. We can check.” Baiya looked over at Oli. “Thanks for all of the information. I’ll make sure to pass it on to Pangu.”
The young man grinned from ear to ear. “Sure thing. And if you have any more questions…”
Baiya did not let him finish and started to lead the way up though Pangu caught up and matched his stride easily. “That boy is very passionate about politics,” he grumbled once they were out of ear shot.
Pangu held back a smirk but it still pulled at one corner of his lips. “Yeah?” he asked as he noticed the exhausted expression on his disciple’s face.
“He may normally seem shy but he can talk.”
They both shared a short, private, laugh before opening the door to Kira’s room. The two other disciples sat on the floor, facing one another, in a meditative pose but they slipped out of that relaxed state as soon as the door creaked open. Kira even scrambled to his feet while Raine sat up on his knees.
“How did it go with your mentors?” Raine asked.
Kira looked even more expectant. “They did not give you too hard of a time, did they?”
Pangu shook his head and looked between them. Heidi was still absent but he realized that was a good thing for the moment. It was only fair to let everyone know before he made the next, big step in his journey. First, however, he wished to ease their concerns.
The fact they were all clearly worried at all was a bit of a blow to his heart. Pangu pushed past that nagging guilt and moved straight to the good news. “Well, I talked about what my role is going forward and we all agreed that I can continue operating as I had been. So, all of our plans remain unaltered while they train Merra. We can set off for Feng in the morning and clear the miasma while seeing about an alliance between the lord and Viren.”
“They have no criticism on anything you’re doing?” Kira pushed with an arched eyebrow. He had a difficult time believing such a thing. There had not been direct hostility toward him or anything but he certainly felt a discomfort aimed his way.
“My methods differ slightly from expectations but there were no demands for change,” Pangu worded his response carefully. Technically, it was true. Not even Zhu told him that he had to disavow Kira or Baiya…he just suggested it. There was a difference.
“That is good then…right?” Raine finally stood as well and stretched his long limbs up, nearly brushing along the ceiling. “We can return to business.”
Pangu nodded. “I also want to add my fourth disciple.” Three intense gazes met his and he almost did not continue. But he shoved down the nerves and carried on anyway, “To help ease their worries, I am going to ask Heidi to be my Enlil disciple.”
“…You want to bring your sister along…?” Baiya carefully replied, not wanting to outright show his disappointment.
Kira, on the other hand, held nothing back. “She’s not a good fit. She’s just going to berate you the whole time.”
Pangu shook his head. “She is not always like you have seen her. This will be good for her…and me as well, I hope. Besides, being my sister, she has high resonance so her training will be smooth.”
Raine glanced between Kira and Baiya who both wore quite prominent frowns. He did not want Pangu to feel even worse for his decision so he slapped on a smile and said, “I think you are right, Pangu. We will not have to travel to Enlil either so this is the best course of action.”
Pangu appreciated his support and gave him a short lived smile in return. He was not sure how much of it was Raine’s true feelings or if he was simply attempting to make him feel better but he was grateful either way. Kira and Baiya certainly were not cheering for the development and, while Pangu did understand, he could not go back on his choice.
He would never say so to either of them, especially not Kira, but Heidi was, in many ways, his compromise for keeping the two of them as his disciples.

Narrative Structure
I know that I want my game to built around an old space wizard telling his stories to an author with the player going through those stories from the wizards perspective but I'm not yet sure how I want to structure the game around those, whether there should come one after the after in a directly linear fashion or if there's a more interesting way to do it.
The main benefit of having the game let the player play through the stories in a directly linear fashion is it becomes much easier to link them narratively in a cohesive way as well as it being much easier to justify the existence of a skill tree like mechanic for the player to be able to upgrade the wizards spells. I don't think there would be anything at all wrong with this approach but I think I could create some more interesting larger narrative components out of just simply portraying these stories in a different way.
The first way I considered doing this was inspired by the Netflix show kaleidoscope which I haven't actually seen but I know takes an unconventionally non-linear approach allowing people to watch the episodes in any order and still get a cohesive experience. I want each of the wizards stories to be mostly self contained episode like experiences and I also wanted to play around with the wizards memory of those stories so I could try a similar approach but I'm not entirely sure how I would implement it into a larger narrative without it seeming like its in a non-linear order just for the sake of having it in a non-linear order. I think on its own it would seem like a relatively pointless addition but if I combined it with some other mechanics based around the wizards memory of the events like changing details based on what the player does within the stories I think it would fit a lot better and enhance the narrative experience.
I think one way I could definitely improve the narrative experience with a structural change is with the implementation of narrative choices throughout the stories which allows the stories to feel more personal to the player making the wizards stories feel more like a choose your own adventure book as well as making the author character question the strength of the wizards memory of the stories. This also opens an opportunity to have a cool moment at the end where the player can read through parts of the authors biography about the wizard seeing their actions and choices in a written story. Although having these kind of choices might seem to contradict the fact they are stories about cool moments I think if these choices are implemented in the right way then they will enhance that aspect making the player feel more directly involved in them like their putting their own mark on those stories rather than just playing through them in a way that would be exactly the same, every time.
This mechanic could also be supported by more minor choices the player may not always realize their making which could lead to minor dialogue changes between the wizard and author in a similar way to the honor system in the red dead series. The honour system goes up with honourable actions and down with dishonourable actions which can affect the way other characters see the player character and how certain events play out. I think a similar system could work for affecting minor dialogue moments but also affecting the way the author portrays the wizards actions in their book with the author writing the wizard more like a hero or more like a villain depending on the players actions.

Asteroid Vibilia (144) and how you travel pt. 1
This asteroid was named after the Roman goddess of travel, representing both short and long journeys. Depending on the placement of said asteroid, it can point towards your preferred travel destinations and where you may choose to take a journey - - - 🛩️
P.S this is based on my observations, by all means I’m far from a pro. Take this with a grain of salt and feel free to share your thoughts!
Aspects to the sun-many prominent and important trips during your lifetime
Aspects to the moon-intimate trips, meant to evoke strong emotion, emotional development
Aspects to mercury-trips involving a life lesson, challenges your way of thinking
Aspects to venus-trips based on aesthetics, art and love
Aspects to mars-action filled trips, fast-paced, living on the "wild side"
Aspects to jupiter-potentially winning a trip to a destination, or winning something during a trip, luck
Aspects to saturn-trips that are structured/serious in nature (defined itinerary), prominent business trips
Aspects to uranus-random and spontaneous trips, many surprises during the trip, unexpected events
VIBILIA IN THE FIRST HOUSE
The native with this placement will travel in relation to personal benefit, as the first house is representative of personal pleasures and interests. They may also embark on journeys as a means of finding themself, likely taping into their arian nature. Solo-travel is the name of the game, adventure-seeking and taking risks for enjoyment purposes. Aries in the first house is likely to demonstrate extroverted behaviours when encountering strangers and will appear confident in their interactions with those from another country. These individuals seek martian-like activities and destinations, with high-energy sports and bright, colourful environments.
A sport with arian traits that comes to mind is skydiving, an activity that excited and enthrals the native. Fox Glacier, New Zealand is notorious for this life-changing experience and beautiful views
VIBILIA IN THE SECOND HOUSE
The native with this placement will travel in relation to monetary affairs (maybe insufficient funds or a surplus of funds leading to plenty of travel), adopting a "why not" mentality and acting on impulse. The native may enjoy collecting souvenirs and anything visually appealing (house of venus) and in the case of an arian, said items may appear as red things (jewellery, shoes, bags, etc) and/or sporting attire (jerseys, hats, other merchandise).
There too may be a tendency to overindulge and lose the self to materialism if undeveloped, buying items on impulse potential lack of foresight for future financial consequences. The perfect taurean activity for the individual to partake in is shopping, taking on the mall like it's the latest competition to win. Paris comes to mind as a place in which this person would love to indulge endlessly, with finite shopping options to literally or figuratively shop until they drop.
VIBILIA IN THE THIRD HOUSE
The native with this placement will travel for affairs related to communication and the sharing of information across many populations (house of mercury). The individual could be a public speaker (TED talks come to mind) or an author and voyages as a means of spreading their messaging to the masses, sporting a powerful, confident means of articulating themself. As this house that is ruled by mercury, places in which one can be educated are pertinent, particularly post-secondary institutions. Prestigious post secondary institutes come to mind.
The native could also take a liking to constantly improving their own source of knowledge, basking in the opportunity during their travels to learn plenty of new. They too can find building relationships with people they meet during their numerous travels to come more naturally. In their travels, they will also collect books and notes to help them along the way and build on their interminable studies.
VIBILIA IN THE FORTH HOUSE
The native with this placement will travel for familial reasons, setting off to visit for a family vacation or a simple check-up from time to time. Places such as Disney World (Florida) and Universal in Orlando come to mind. The fourth house is the house of cancer and, as such travel destinations associated with plenty of water (the beach of course) would be the perfect place to kick back and relax.
The native could also develop a fascination or curiosity for their heritage and culture, wanting to know as much as they possibly can. In their travels, they will collect anything that gives off “homey vibes such as sea shells, crystals, rocks and pictures of themselves but mostly their family. The native is nostalgic, always romanticizing their trip regardless of the actual events.
As a collective, water signs would likely prefer travel destinations closer to bodies of water such as an island or coastal environment🏝
As a collective, fire signs would likely prefer travel destinations that are warmer in temperature with sun-filled days 🏜
As a collective, earth signs would likely prefer travel destinations that are mountain-filled along side valleys and rocky places. The Appalachians come to mind 🏞
As a collective, air signs would likely prefer travel destinations riddled with cooler, windier weather🌬
