tbh I think Minthe and Hades was the most interesting dynamic in LO
#I stopped reading way early on and a long time ago because it started frustrating me#So take this with a grain of salt#But they just felt like they were the most fleshed out characters#And when they seemed like they were actually going to try to mend their relationship was when I was most invested in the story#honestly contributed a lot to why I quit reading since it felt like that investment was punished when the story made a left turn and just#said ‘oh no they’re not doing that’ which for the record wasn’t ooc and in fact I really liked how the scene was handled#Seeing Minthe’s inner monologue was really tragic and part of the reason why she stuck with me so much#Plus like . They just get eachother ? Theyre both broken people and them being shitty together and recovering together felt touching for the#short time we got to see it happen . I honestly wish there was more content for it >:T . Also ! I think Minthe in general is very fun#including her dynamics with Thanatos and Thetis . #ramblings of a lunatic#the owl house#toh#darius deamonne#raine whispers#raine was the one being fostered btw#I've already hinter a few times that due to convoluted narrative parallel reasons#i hc raine as coming from a Not Great home situation#just like. parents with wayyy too high expectations for them and way to controlling (kinda paralleling the later parts of their arc-#-where control is a Big Theme. i know it might make the whole 'IFWOT-moving schools' incident seem ooc-#-but you can easily interpret that line as being like. raines parents only indulge them when it also suits them (gets then out of the cold))#and plenty of rich and talented kids still go to hexside so i imagine it's still decently respectable#anyway yeah one day raine was like. oh i can't take this anymore actually#and through a series of events i haven't bothered to conceptualise gets put in foster care and taken in by the deammones#they mostly foster in the hopes of being a forever home for kids (darius has a lot of siblings both bio and adopted)#but raines gonna age out of the system in a couple months anyway so might as well stay somewhere vaguely familiar#(raine and darius but heads all the time at hexside tho so like. first few weeks are rough)#but this is my incredibly long-winded and unrealistic take on why their dynamic in s2 reminds me so much of sibling/familal bickering#(TO ME BTW. Why is your body somewhat discolored
I mean... I guess it's just because I'm made of different ingredients, and not... evenly mixed? So parts of me have more of some ingredients than others.
Anyway, for whatever reason, when I form into a humanoid shape, usually I end up with a purple left arm and a blue right leg. I guess it's possible if I consciously focused on it, maybe I could move my stuff around and change the location of the discolorations, or even... distribute them more evenly so I'm more uniformly colored, but I've never really tried.

Oh. it just clicked why so many newer vivisection fics (including ones that happen offscreen) bother me. it's because they always happen post-reveal, where Maddie & Jack know that it's Danny & are doing it anyways (out of character). older ones (like. the ones that got the trend going) always had the reveal happen either during the vivisection for max angst or after if the author leaned more towards a chaptered fic with character & emotional development (all in character). Hm
#refusing to interact with canon & instead playing a game of fanon telephone has struck again#i feel like this is the result of seeing something get popular & loving it yourself even but completely misunderstanding why#this is mostly a writing gripe for me cuz like. the rgw->viv plotline has so many characterization & logistical issues that trip people up#it's not the character development or the plot. it's the vivisection. so it doesn't matter how it happens or how ooc it is right?#WRONG!!
