okay, hear me out: mean girl!reader x nerdy/sub!yandere
nerd!yan who gets bullied by you all the time, with harsh name calling and forcing him to do your homework.
nerd!yan who grows intrigued with you. you’re so confident, so pretty, so cool! how can he not like you?
nerd!yan who’s slowly growing more obsessed. his breath hitches whenever you loom over him with that annoyingly hot smirk of yours, calling him such mean, degrading names
nerd!yan who gets jealous whenever he sees you targeting someone else. you can’t bully them!! you should pay attention to him and only him. oh well, he’ll just have to eliminate the competition, so you can go back to “tormenting” him again.
nerd!yan who’s really such a pervert! he followed you home and was pleasuring himself to your scent that lingered on your clothing… such dirty behaviour!
mean girl!reader who returns home to find one of her classmates in her bedroom, and how can she not smile at the sight? he’s so pretty, such a cute little plaything…
mean girl!reader who had always been aware of nerd!yan’s obsessive tendencies, and played along. but now that he’s been caught red handed…
mean girl!reader who degrades poor nerd!yan for being such a disgusting pervert, but submits to nerd!yan’s fantasies anyway. she plays with him, leaving harsh love bites and scratches over his soft skin, reducing him to a moaning, whiney mess.
nerd!yan who’s basically your pet now, obediently following you throughout school, happily accepting all your orders, no matter how demeaning or gross they are.
people who even dare look your way with romantic interest? they get disposed of in…well, let’s just say, messy. oh, but not that nerd!yan will ever let you see it happen! your precious, beautiful eyes should be shielded from such violent acts. but if you ever ask… tilt your head playfully with a soft smile and ask him to let you watch, he might.
tldr; mean girl and a nerdy yandere that are both equally toxic for each other
have an awesome day!! I would really like to see you write a concept like this <3

A/N: I'm including someone else's request as I think they mesh well together: "a mean bully!reader with a yandere!loser, where reader basically just uses him like a pet and has him do whatever she wants" I'll be doing my best, but do keep in mind this is written by a loser nerd so I can't guarantee accuracy. I also don't want to be too mean, even if it's hypothetical, y'know? 😭
Nerd! Loser! Yandere x Mean Girl! Bully! Reader
They say being in the right relationship motivates you to strive for the best version of yourself. Sometimes, the opposite is true. What happens when your soulmate brings out your most depraved self?
Content: female reader, mildly NSFW, obsessive behavior, violence, bullying, loser is meant in a loving way, yandere consents to everything

You really aren't that bad of a person. Or at least you weren't before you met the odd man you now call your boyfriend. How did it all begin? For the sake of full disclosure, alright, you have always been somewhat on the mean side. A little too sarcastic, a little too blunt, perhaps a little too harsh. You don't like soft people and have little patience for their stumbling attempts. But, you can hold your tongue as long as it doesn't involve you.
The meeting, at least from your point of view, was entirely accidental. Despite just starting your university year, your charisma had quickly gained you enough friends and acquaintances to have a stable sample of potential group partners. Except for one class. One single missing person, and you were asked to include a name you didn't recognize. Some young man who almost never showed up to class.
Oh, but he did. He was there for every lecture, for every seminar. His, and yours. His first encounter with you was not what most would call romantic. On day one he'd gotten lost. The crowded halls, the new environment, the noise, the smell, everything overwhelmed him, and he found himself wandering in a panic, until at last he bumped into you. The impact sent him straight onto the ground, books pathetically spilling from his trembling arms. You, on the other hand, remained standing as if nothing happened. "Pull yourself together, dumbass", you hissed through your teeth, looking into his eyes for one brief moment before moving on to your friends: "You have to give it to them straight, otherwise they'll think we're still in high school and someone will hold their hand all the time. It's embarrassing! Grown adults!"
He can't remember anything else from that day. Only your voice, your expression, your stance. Somehow, for whatever reason, that "dumbass" went straight to his heart. To think you'd look after him, a complete stranger. You were right, he needed to recollect himself and figure it out. Something even his own mother omitted to mention.
How he wished he could be like you. The way professors relied on you for discussions, the way your friends flocked for advice. But see, he knew you were faking most of it. That overly sweet smile and exaggerated politeness, all of it was a mask you'd learned to wear at any time. It only came off when dealing with people like him. There was a certain pride in that fact: he'd seen the real you. Not your "friends".
The more he thought about it, the more plagued by need he became. The need to hear you speak to him again, in that raw, unfiltered voice, with that disgusted glare piercing through his entire being. Thus, he did his best - as per your advice - to find another opportunity. The group work. One glance at him was enough for you to remember: "Ah, fuck, you're that dumbass from first day", you whined in frustration. Instant arousal.
And so, your unusual partnership began to develop. Or rather, your game of tormentor versus tormented. (Un)Paid actors and nothing more. It didn't take you long to notice his strange reaction to your verbal aggressions, almost as if the man relished in your ruthlessness. He seemed to know exactly what buttons to press in order to anger you. In return, you decided to see how far you could go until he'd finally cave in. From insults, to flicking him in the forehead, shoving him against the wall, ordering him around like a collared dog. You had your suspicions, but it all culminated when you went over to his little dorm room for a final project review. You'd gotten so upset - what did he even do? - that you pushed him hard into the ground and straddled him, holding onto the collar of his jacket and shouting profanities. A horrified grimace struck his face, and you froze. Have you gone too far? Was he finally going to ask that you stop, and put this strange charade behind? "P-please give me a moment, I..." he panted, frantically trying to move you aside. "I need to take care of myself. I'm so sorry." You hesitantly stood up and noticed the obvious erection in his pants.
You have a strange effect on him. He is not incapable; he knows it very well. And yet, the temptation is too great: to pretend, to exaggerate, to fail, anything to have you take the lead and lovingly scold him in the process. "What do you mean you're too anxious to present your part? Christ, you're useless. Utterly, completely useless." He can't wait to pleasure himself later to the memory of your words. Truly addicting. He doesn't mind being a doormat if it's your feet keeping him down. You bring out his most pathetic, perverted, deplorable self.
The same can be said about you. You've never been this mean to anyone. You hadn't even intended to reach this point, yet something keeps riling you up. Maybe it's his pleading pout whenever he's being reprimanded. The hooded, lustful eyes gazing up at you submissively and waiting for the next burning whip of your tongue. He brings out the worst in you and he loves every second of it.
You unlock the door and march into the bedroom (you've since moved in together). Without a warning, you grip his chin tightly and give the man a firm tug, forcing him to pay attention. "You did something, didn't you? I was supposed to meet with a classmate for coffee and he vanished without a trace. Won't answer my texts or calls." He shakes his head in denial at first, wide innocent eyes glistening in fear. Ah, he can't help it. His lips curl in a crooked grin. He's been caught. You shove two fingers in his mouth, and without delay he twirls his tongue around them hungrily. "What a psychotic bitch you are. You want to be the only one, huh? Is that what it is about?" Between the slurps and the whimpers, you can discern a hurried nod.

Maxed Out!
Those few seconds were pure heaven. Josh’s jaw dropped when he saw his new neighbor step out of his truck and start strutting a little way up the path towards his front door. Out from the corner of his curtains, he gasped at the man’s beautiful face and imposingly strong body; his t-shirt fitting impeccably well, the biceps on full show and the delicious pecs thrusting themselves forwards. Never in his life had he seen a man he had admired quite so much. But then the guy turned, giving Josh a great shot of his tight, muscular glutes and strong thighs on full display in only a pair of tight gym shorts. He was going back to the truck, the passenger door opening where a guy was just getting out as well. Like a gentleman, he went straight to him, took his hand and eased him out.
That was when the moments of bliss ended. Just as Josh was getting over the disappointment that his hunky, new gay neighbor was not single, the image of his boyfriend made his breath catch in his throat. It was a face he hadn’t seen in almost ten years and had dearly hoped he would never see again. He could feel his heart racing and his eyes bulging. It couldn’t be! Nathan? The guy who had made Josh’s high school existence an absolute misery. Fuck! Was he going to be moving in right next door? Josh wouldn’t be able to cope with that. Surely he wasn’t such a bad person that he would be deserving of this?
As if to rub salt in the wound, the beautiful, new, incredibly tall guy stooped down to kiss Nathan on the lips and he wrapped his strapping arm over his shoulders, both of them gazing upon the house they had just purchased. In his shock, Josh hadn’t realised that he had strayed out from behind the curtain, only noticing how exposed he was when the new guy caught his stare and smiled at him, waving politely at Josh through his window.
Instinctively, Josh threw himself back, filled with embarrassment. He couldn’t let Nathan see him. No way! Everything he had done in life seemed to evaporate: his successful career, his weight loss. He was reduced to being that shy, overweight, 280lbs eighteen year old boy no-one wanted to be friends with.
Josh swallowed. He really had come a long way since those days. Back then, he had been timid and unsure of himself at the all-boys school he attended with Nathan. He hadn’t been able to make friends quite like Nathan could, seemingly effortlessly. And, despite the fact that they were both out about their sexualities, it was only ever Josh who was made fun of for it; alongside his large, round belly and broad, dimpled, under exercised butt. In fact, rather bizarrely, the abuse was usually instigated by Nathan himself, who wanted to position himself as the cool, sporty and fun gay guy of the year group, doing his best to ensure that any homophobic bullying was sent Josh’s way instead. The tactic worked flawlessly.
Since then, Josh had fully embraced his sexuality and now maintained his low weight for over two years. College had been awesome and everyone in the neighborhood loved him here. So why hide out and pretend that he didn’t have the courage to face his old demons head on? Without even registering what his body was doing, Josh found his feet were suddenly leading him out of the door. It was, once again, that ridiculous side of himself, so desperate to please; the part of him that had made him such a target in high school; that made him open his own front door and smile at them both warmly in greeting,
“Hello!” he sang, wanting so desperately to speak only to the new guy, yet unable to tear his eyes from Nathan as the boy visibly grimaced in recognition of Josh. “Congratulations on the new house!” he smiled, hearing a slight crack in his voice.
As if sensing his lover’s disdain, the handsome, new guy looked down at his boyfriend in amusement. Nathan was being rude, and he knew it, so he unhooked his arm from his shoulder and strolled across the grass to shake Josh’s hand alone. “Nice to meet you,” he smiled in a deep, charming tone that sent a spark of lust through Josh’s whole body. “My name is Max,” he explained, turning back to his boyfriend and pondering. “But something tells me you two already know each other already…” he grinned, as if this scenario was all quite funny to him.
“Yes!” Josh tried to smile; his heart beating a mile a minute and feeling like his whole body had been transported back ten years as he was staring into the eyes of his bully, desperate to get away unharmed. “We were in school together,” he nodded, noticing for the first time that Nathan wasn’t quite as slim as he had been back then. His stomach was slightly thicker, as were his thighs and chest. He had a slight puddle of fat under his chin that should have given Josh confidence, considering all the weight he himself had lost in the last two years to become the slim, healthy-looking, pretty boy at long last. But… it didn’t. Despite being in the best shape of his life, Josh still felt like the fat boy Nathan used to target every day. “It’s lovely to see you again, Nathan!” he tried.
Nathan scowled and huffed. “Sure. You too,” he spat insincerely, averting his eyes back to Max straight away. “Honey, could you get my box from the back of the truck?”he asked.
Max sighed, playfully rolling his eyes at Josh. “Sure thing, Honey,” he called back, ripping off his t-shirt to reveal the incredible, muscular physique underneath as he prepared to set to work unloading.
“Is there anything I can do to help?” Josh asked them both, like a glutton for punishment. All he really wanted to do was to get inside and hide away.
Max seemed to look him over; his thin physique and 150lb frame, dressed smartly in a well ironed shirt. “No,” he replied, assessing Josh to be fairly useless for the physical moving and carrying that would be his chore for the next hour. “I’ll be fine,” he smiled, giving him a charming wink.
Nathan waited until Max was out of earshot. It was a tactic Josh remembered well, already bracing himself. “You can stop looking at Max like that,” he grunted at him. “We’re not friends,” he hissed. “You were a prissy little no-body in school and…” he continued, eyeing up and evaluating Josh’s well maintained and impeccably manicured front yard, “...you’re clearly just the same now.”
“Nathan, this is silly…” Josh tried once more, summoning all his resolve. “We’re grown adults.”
“You think because you’ve lost a few pounds I’m going to let you be friends with me?” he laughed, always keeping an eye that Max wasn’t listening. “Go home, Josh. And stay there.”
Reeling, Josh did indeed go inside, cursing himself; imagining what a fool he had made coming out to greet them like that. Why did he have to give Nathan the satisfaction of even trying to be nice to him? Why couldn’t he accept that the guy would never tolerate him?
The teenager inside of Josh made a grab for control. He opened the cupboards and started whipping up a batch of cookie dough. He ripped open the ice cream and began spooning it into his mouth, knowing that food had been the only true comfort for him back in those dark days of high school. He would have been that way all night, gorging himself, had Kelly from next door not stopped by, knocking on the back door and seeing the mess in the kitchen.
“Oh, you’re making your famous oatmeal cookies for the new neighbors?” she’d assumed, full of smiles.
Josh nodded, pleased that a plausible excuse had just fallen so easily into his lap. Of course it had been Kelly who had been one of the first to introduce herself to the new couple next door. The woman thrived on the suburban gossip and would actively make it her mission to get around everyone on the street, sharing what she had gleaned from the fresh arrivals.
“They’re such a lovely couple, aren’t they?” Kelly went on. “Nathan works from home, y’know? His family owns a big share in the haulage company over by the docks. That’s probably how he landed a guy like Max! He’s so handsome, isn’t he?” she swooned. “I bet the family are rolling in it!”
Such a thought had crossed Josh’s mind too. Sure, Nathan had always been a good-looking guy, but he wasn’t as slender, nor as athletic as he had once been. Even to the untrained eye, Max seemed more than a little out of his league these days. Then again, Max seemed to be doing pretty well all by himself; his own sizable construction business’ name printed down the side of the two trucks they now had on the driveway. What reason would he have for settling for a slightly chubby guy from a wealthy family when he was clearly already doing well for himself already?
“I think they’re going to fit right in here,” Kelly nodded. “Nathan’s even coming with us to yoga class on Wednesday!”
Josh’s heart sank. He loved that yoga class, but there was no way he was going if Nathan was there as well. Already the spiteful boy was making a move on all his friends. He considered telling Kelly everything he knew about the real Nathan; their shared history and the bullying. But then everyone would know what a loser he had been back in high school. News like that had a way of spreading like wildfire, twisting and evolving as it passed from person to person. Could Josh handle that? More than ever, he wanted to leave his high school days in the past. Acting as if he didn’t know Nathan seemed like the best thing to do; especially if he didn’t want to be the source of neighborhood gossip.
“They smell great!” Max smiled, looking genuinely delighted at the large container of oatmeal cookies Josh had felt compelled to deliver to him after promising Kelly that he would. He’d hidden behind his curtains for nearly twenty minutes until he was sure that Nathan was inside the house, leaving Max alone in the front yard to unpack the last few boxes for the evening.
“It’s something of a tradition for me to make them when a new neighbor arrives,” Josh smiled meekly, still checking the porch to ensure that Nathan wasn’t about to reappear.
“Yes,” Max smiled back at him. “I’ve already heard about your excellent baking!” he offered charmingly. Clearly Kelly had spent quite some time telling him about all the neighbors.  “Nathan is going to love these. He has quite the sweet tooth, y’know?”
Josh tried to smile back, but just the mention of Nathan’s name was enough to start making him feel as sick as he had back in high school. “Well, make sure you get to taste some as well,” he replied quietly. Back before Josh had gone on his weight loss journey, the recipe he had followed had been his absolute favorite. The cookies were far too nice for the likes of Nathan!
“Oh, I wouldn’t dare!” Max joked. “Nathan is quite the glutton when he gets something sugary!” He looked sideways to check that his boyfriend wasn’t about. “It’s the reason why his ass is a lot wider than you probably remember it in high school!” he chuckled, theatrically masking one side of his mouth so that no one could read his lips.
Josh laughed, taking to Max straight away. Nathan had always been highly strung and awkward, but this guy was as relaxed and as wicked as they came. According to Kelly, they had only been together a few months. Max was the sort of level-headed man who would soon see through Nathan’s false facade. He had the air of a charming bad boy about him; someone who was rarely bettered in a battle of wits.
“Nathan’s always been a very handsome guy,” Josh conceded, not wanting to implicate himself in anything that could be considered unkind in front of Max.
“Oh, yeah, for sure!” Max smiled, nodding in full agreement. “But even handsome guys can overeat…“ he smirked. “Trust me, I doubt any of these cookies will ever see daylight again!”
Josh smiled politely and walked back to his house, his mind whirring away. Nathan would have to be very silly to let his appetite get the better of him and lose a man like Max. Josh had never imagined his old high school bully would get even a little chubby, yet there was no denying that Nathan was starting to let himself go a bit. Perhaps it wouldn’t be the worst thing ever. The faster Max got fed up with Nathan’s expanding waistline, the sooner they could all be rid of him - for good!
The following week, Josh’s heart leapt with joy as he saw Max returning home with a full tray of doughnuts. He grinned. offering a silent prayer that Nathan would gorge on the lot and struggle to fit in his pants the next day. Despite the outward appearance of order and harmony within Max and Nathan’s house, it seemed obvious to Josh that the pair’s home must still be upside down after the big move. Why else would Max have come hom with take out every night that week, if not for that? Inside his head, Josh was adding up all the calories and just imagining what impact they may have on nasty old Nathan. Back when Josh was with his ex, he’d been verbally mocked for even looking at foods like that when he still had weight to lose. Yet, there was Max fetching and carrying it all in for him as if he had no idea how much foods like those could influence a guy’s weight when he didn’t work a manual job, like himself.
After skipping yoga for a couple weeks, Josh sensed the other ladies on the street starting to treat him a little differently; their husbands soon following suit. Perhaps it was the obvious extra pounds he was starting to carry on his stomach once more. His tummy had swollen and softened as he consoled himself with his own baking after each intimidating stare from Nathan every time he was unfortunate enough to see him outside. The others on the street were short and impatient, moving away from him as quickly as they could. There were scowls and forgotten invitations to backyard barbecues; clear signs that something was going dramatically wrong. It was happening all over again, just like last time. Nathan had spread his vicious lies and set Josh well within his sights. Josh could just imagine the guy’s smug, satisfied face after each made-up rumour he would tell. Now the neighbors huddled together with Nathan; their backs turned to Josh; an impenetrable wall. Josh watched on, filled with hopelessness, whilst being periodically glanced over at as they continued to discuss him; the outsider.
It was all too much. Josh felt like he had built up a life for himself, only for Nathan to come along and knock it all down. Pretty soon it was only the hapless Max who ever had a friendly smile for him. The ice cream, the cookies, the chocolate, they all called out to him when he came in feeling glum; Josh’s healthy eating regime shattering into a million pieces.
Clothes were tightening, the extra pounds spreading, and a reinflation of Josh’s previously toned body was a seemingly unstoppable process. His butt had always taken the brunt whenever his diet had failed him, but the build up of pure fat felt so much more extreme this time. Josh avoided the mirror, stuck to his loosest fitting outfits and attempted to ride out the winter, assuring himself that all would come right again, once the darkness ended.
It was Spring when Max was cutting the grass in his front yard. With his shirt off, Josh suspected that he wasn’t the only one on the street twitching at the curtains. Even the oldest residents could attest to the fact that there had never been such a handsome, masculine presence on this street. Not that Josh could ever hope to have a man like that now. He’d piled on so much weight over the winter months. He’d felt it all sliding back onto his body, invading his stomach and chest once more. His old t-shirts had come out of the attic, his former pants and jeans. He could feel it under his chin, bloating up his face, jiggling in his love handles and swelling up his butt; 45lbs of pure lard, developed from months of comfort eating due to the quiet isolation he now felt. Dating was out of the question; at least not until he got a grip of himself again. But when would that be?
Max was cleaning the blades of the mower when his miserable boyfriend came trotting out carrying a cool glass of lemonade for him. Wearing loose, unflattering sweatpants, Nathan hovered above his crouching man as if he was utterly oblivious as to how gigantic his butt looked. Winter had been hard on him as well it seemed, Josh smiled. It was completely transformative! Rather than being a little over-padded, Nathan’s butt and love handles had swollen to a width that would make jaws drop. This was a fat boy, without a doubt, having piled on even more than Josh himself. It wasn’t even as if he had become more shapely or especially masculine, but more like a hose had been inserted into his rear and pure blubber pumped in as much as he could take.
Max’s face lit up upon seeing his boy, rising to his feet, strapping his hands onto that big butt and pulling him in for a kiss. He seemed to revolve Nathan slightly so that his hefty rear could be seen even by those living across the street; the guy’s strong hands genuinely appearing to revel in the size of those lardy glutes.
Nathan laughed and patted the horny boy away, trotting back into the house and inadvertently giving Josh a better look at the rest of his body: that double chin, the puffy arms, the rounded tummy, the larger mounded chest. Just what had the boy been eating whilst he worked from home all these months? He had completely ballooned!
Josh’s attention turned back onto Max: a satisfied grin spreading across his face as he watched Nathan disappear from view. It had been him, Josh realised, as the handsome boy chuckled to himself and crouched back down to clean the lawnmower blades. Barely a night had gone by when Josh hadn’t caught sight of him carrying something tasty in for his lover after a long day at work. He’d enabled it all. Hell, he might as well have had his name tattooed on that oversized rump of Nathan’s. Yet… he was still attracted to the awful boy. What sort of a guy put up with a weight gain like that? Certainly not any of the ones Josh had ever dated; constantly criticising his appearance and making him feel unworthy of their love, he thought bitterly to himself. Yet, there was the completely undeserving Nathan, likely far exceeding 240lbs, and still actively garnering the attention of a man like Max.
There was no such thing as karma. Life wasn’t fair. People never really got what they deserved. Some guys were just born lucky.
It had been a slip at work that had done it. Josh was laid up on his couch resting his broken ankle and feeling more than a little sorry for himself that May. Whilst he enjoyed the freedom of being single, living alone was not always easy when things weren’t going great. Two weeks into the healing process and already the house looked a mess. He was existing off microwave meals, working from home and moving as little as possible, just as the doctor had ordered. He thought of all the times he had been there to help others on the street when bad luck had befallen them; yet no one had called round to check on him. With his parents gone and brother living so far away, Josh had never felt so isolated in his life. That was, until a large shadow crossed his window as the figure of Max could be seen in his front yard, mowing the grass for him.
Josh hobbled to the front door and caught his attention, thanking Max for coming to help even when he had not asked. His yard had never looked like such a mess; the beautiful flowers he looked forward to each summer going unnoticed, hidden behind an unruly forest of weeds and grass.
“Nathan’s away at a friend’s this weekend,” Max explained. “I’ve not got much to do anyway,” he shrugged.
Josh nodded, wondering whether even Max would dare to help him had Nathan been at home. Although he often caught the man in the front yard and exchanged a few simple, friendly words, he had always been keen to keep his guard up. He knew that, as a couple, Nathan would have spoken to him about why he didn’t like Josh. Perhaps they laughed about him behind his back. He could easily imagine that.
“Is there anything else I can do for you whilst I’m here?” Max asked kindly, letting himself in later that afternoon and stepping into Josh’s living area as he tried to get himself upright to greet the strapping man properly.
“No, you’ve already done so much! You’ve been a lifesaver!” Josh smiled. He looked down at his cast, wishing it away so that his life could get back to normal and not rely on others like he was having to right now. “What can I do to thank you?”
Max scratched his head in thought. “Maybe, when you’re better, you could make another batch of those cookies for Nathan?” he considered. “He guzzled the last batch down in no time at all,” he laughed, not hiding an element of mockery within.
Josh paused for a moment, unsure whether there was some sort of punchline coming from Max’s strange humor about his boyfriend’s appetite. “Sure,” he nodded at last. “I can do that.”
“Thanks,” Max smiled, dropping his head slightly and starting to shuffle out. But then he paused, turning back. “This must be pretty nice for you, huh?” he asked. “Nathan was such a bastard to you for being fat in high school, and now he’s the one carrying around all that extra weight? I imagine you feel pretty smug each time you see him?”
Josh stared at him. What sort of a question was that? He started to mumble a reply, realising that he didn’t even know what he was supposed to say. “Well, I’m hardly one to judge,” he finally replied softly. He hadn’t expected anyone to see him that day and his fat stomach wasn’t hidden in the slightest by the old, tight band t-shirt he’d slipped on earlier.
“Go on, admit it!” Max smirked. “You hate his guts!”
Again, Josh struggled to find words. “I wouldn’t say I hated him,” he lied.
“Why not?” Max asked. “He hates you. Loathes you, in fact! You should hear some of the things he’s been going around telling the neighbors.”
Josh frowned. “What’s he been saying?" he asked, immediately outraged. He took a breath, realising that he’d actually rather not know. He couldn’t say he’d ever really understood Max’s boyish humor, but his motives for saying these things eluded Josh. It was almost as if he enjoyed all the drama. “Okay…” he sighed, defeated.
“So, how do you feel about him?” Max pressed, not letting this go.
Not knowing what else to do, Josh shrugged and relented. “Fine. I don’t like him. Okay?“
Grinning with triumph, Max nodded with delight. “Good,” he smirked. “Make sure you channel that when you’re making him those cookies then: a little extra butter here, more sugar in there. Think of all the mean fat jokes he ever made about you,” he stated pointedly. “Make the greedy little piggy pay…”
Afterwards, Josh felt like he had slipped into a strange, alternative reality. Guys didn’t talk like that about their boyfriends; so why had Max spoken about Nathan like he was trying to stir up an old vendetta? Had they argued before he’d gone away that weekend? Was all not as it seemed next door? The whole thing could have been the start of a very scandalous neighborhood discussion had Josh been the type to share with the gossips. Not that anyone was really talking to him right now. As it was, Josh simply pondered it alone, slowly making up a batch of the cookies as Max had asked.
That Sunday, Josh yelled to Max as he headed out to pick Nathan up from the airport. He hobbled back into the kitchen, fetching the container of cookies so that he could hand them to him. The strapping man was waiting in his hallway expectantly, dressed in a smart shirt as if he was going to take Nathan straight out for dinner afterwards. His aftershave smelt enticing and the man’s eyes lit up when he saw the container so filled with cookies. He seemed genuinely thrilled to hold it in his hands.
“I hope there’s plenty of butter in these?” he asked seriously, studying the rise as if he knew what to look for.
Josh nodded, suddenly feeling under scrutiny. “You can look at the recipe,” he replied, unsure why he was so keen to please, even in this bizarre situation.
“That’s alright,” Max chuckled. “I trust you,” he whispered with a wink. “We’ve got his sister’s wedding coming up this month and I want him looking fat as fuck beforehand! He bought a suit for it months ago but… I have a funny feeling it won’t be fitting so well,” he smirked wickedly.
Max turned to leave.
“Do you…” Josh tried to ask, feeling uncomfortable with the way things were going down. “It’s just… I find it so strange. Do you not like Nathan, or something?”
Max looked like he wanted to laugh as he turned around to hold eye contact with Josh once more. “Of course I don’t!” he blasted. “Who the hell could actually like Nathan? Only absolute morons! You and I both know better than most… Nathan is not a good person.”
Whatever answer Josh had been anticipating, that had not been it.
“Then… Why are you with him?” he asked slowly, as if this was all too complicated for his brain; like he had missed some crucial detail that would tie it all together.
Max checked his watch and shrugged, no longer caring if he was going to be a little late to pick Nathan up. “I’m playing the long game,” he sighed. “Nathan and his family have been throwing their weight around for far too long in this town.” He looked at Josh as if he knew him far better than even he could realise. “Nathan’s father fired my dad when he questioned him about his business affairs; framed him for some corrupt dealings; gave my mom a nervous breakdown. We lost everything. Dad went to prison. I grew up in a trailer park with my grandparents.”
“That’s awful!” Josh tried to sympathise.
“It is what it is,” Max shrugged. “I can’t change the past.” He leaned against the wall, sighing with sadness. “I’m not the type to let bullies get away with things. But that attitude got me in so many fights back in high school, let me tell you!” he chuckled, almost with nostalgia.
Josh admired his fine, muscular body once more. Of course Max could handle himself. He was so built and tall, he wouldn’t need to take shit from anyone.
“I’ve come across many awful people in my time. Nathan is by far the worst of them all. He dated one of my best friends for almost a year. He had him working to the bone to please him, all the while fucking some guy who lived in their apartment building. He ran up a huge debt in my friend’s name, fleeced a ton of cash off him and walked away with the keys to their apartment. My buddy wrapped his car around a tree and only just escaped with his life. I saw it happening all over again, the whole cycle of cruelty that family is so good at. Only this time, I wasn’t too small to do anything about it.”
Josh nodded sympathetically. None of what he had heard surprised him, but it felt good to listen to someone else highlighting what a piece of work the woman actually was. “But, how?” he asked, still not understanding Max’s plan. “You can’t just be trying to fatten him up so that no one else will have him?” In Josh’s head, it didn’t compute. He couldn’t make the leap from the trauma of the past into the incredibly surreal present day situation going on next door.
“I sure can!” Max chuckled. “He’s a greedy boy. I spotted it in him straight away. It was always bound to happen sooner or later. I’m just speeding the process along…” He could see how sceptical Josh looked. “You know the real Nathan better than most people. He’s not charismatic, especially intelligent, or in any way kind. He’s just a pretty boy from a wealthy family. And he’s played those two cards his entire life, no matter the damage he leaves in his wake. I could tell you so much more about the things he’s done.”
“But that doesn’t mean you should…” Josh tried, hardly bringing himself to say it again “...fatten him up.” He knew, in some bizarre way, that he was possibly the only person Max had confided all of this in.
“Nathan was the one who put the drugs in your brother’s locker in high school, y’know,” Max jumped in. “He did it to spite you because you dared to talk back to him one day. He actually laughed about it when he was telling me how your brother got kicked out of school and your folks shipped him off to some military academy.”
Josh recoiled, knowing the exact and only moment he had dared talk back to Nathan in high school, now realising the devastating consequences it had had. He’d never suspected Nathan capable of planting the drugs back then. Not ever. But it was the reason Josh’s brother had gone into the army afterwards; why he had ended up stepping on that landmine.
“Nathan saw him in his wheelchair when he came here during the holidays,” Max went on. “He didn’t flinch. He didn’t even care.”
“Well, I guess he couldn’t possibly have known…” Josh tried to reason.
“Josh! When are you going to stop letting people push you around?” Max blasted, losing patience with him. “When are you actually going to stand up for yourself? Nathan has been ruining your life for years now and you’ve done absolutely nothing to try and stop him!”
Josh lowered his head. He’d always been such a timid creature, so desperate to please. But Max was right: Nathan was bad to the bone. He couldn’t find the strength to do anything about that in high school, but maybe now he could. “It’s not just the weight gain you’re using to get back at him, is it?” he asked, sensing now how sharp and clever the man before him was; ten steps ahead of everyone else, playing a game none of them even suspected.
Max nodded. “The weight gain is just…karma,” he smirked. “You don’t need to know the rest,” he stated seriously. “Keep your friends close and your enemies…” he rambled ominously. “I want to bring the whole lot of them down. That entire, rotten, corrupt family.”
“I believe you,” Josh smiled, viewing Max as the guardian angel he had always longed for. “I think, If anyone can do this, you can.”
The pair smiled at each other, understanding one another at last.
“I’ll make you some more cookies and treats,” Josh finally sighed. “I’m not saying I necessarily agree with that particular method of how you’re trying to get him back, but…I guess I’m willing to help in any small way I can,” he offered, hardly believing that the words were coming out of his mouth.
Max’s eyebrows rose up high and he chuckled in surprise. “Josh, Josh, Josh…” he tutted mockingly. “Are you serious? Or are you just saying this because you’re upset about everything I just told you?”
Josh swallowed. Max was a knight in shining armour, ready to save him from the most vile creature on Earth. Finally, there was someone willing to take Nathan on. If only he had had an ally like him back in high school. “I’m going to help you,” he stated calmly. “Just tell me what I need to do.”
Once his foot was out of the cast two weeks later, Josh settled to his side of the bargain with enthusiasm. There were so many recipes he hadn’t tried in years given that he’d been losing weight. Now he was getting to have a go at them all, quietly helping his cunning neighbor get his own back on the man he was pretending to be in love with. Max would accept the treats and repackage them so that Nathan would have no idea they were especially baked for him from just next door.
“How was the wedding?” Josh asked Max as he came over to collect the cream cakes Josh had promised him before they left the previous weekend.
Max smirked wickedly, standing just inside the doorway. He had the musk of a strong, capable man after a hard day’s work, a scent which never failed to make every part of Josh tingle. “Awesome!” he nodded in delight. “Just as I predicted, Nathan couldn’t squeeze into his suit properly. He got himself so drunk on champagne that he fell over onto his huge ass for everyone to see, tearing the pants all the way through to the crotch!”
“Oh, I wish I could have seen that!” Josh chuckled, allowing more and more of his wicked side to emerge the longer he had been supporting Max.
“Here,” Max offered, pulling out his cell phone and showing Josh a picture of the tear. He leaned in closer; his strong arm holding the phone up in front of Josh’s face. It was the sort of closeness Josh looked forward to most of all. “His father was furious with him!” Max added, delighted with himself.
“I’m pleased to hear it,” Josh smiled.
“So these are the cream cakes you promised, huh?” Max asked, taking the box from Josh. “Beautiful presentation, as always!” he winked.
Josh blushed a little. “Well, I know it’s just the calories you care about. But I can’t help myself. I enjoy making them look nice.”
“No, no… it all helps!” Max countered. “The fat pig can’t stop himself when they look as enticing as these! It makes my job a lot easier. Thank you.”
Chuckling with a little nervousness, Josh could hardly look Max in the eye. There was something about his enjoyment of all of this that really made him swoon for him. If he was being completely honest with himself, his efforts in the kitchen weren’t entirely about getting revenge on Nathan. These moments alone with Max were also a significant highlight. Not only was the man dripping with sex appeal, but when he spoke about how fat and heavy Nathan was getting, the whole thing seemed almost kinky and excitingly naughty.
“Well, to be fair, neither can I,” Josh admitted, trying not to take it all too seriously. “There were a couple more cream cakes in the box before I got a little peckish earlier.” He rubbed his fat stomach, knowing that the extra few pounds he’d added since baking so much for Max was its own cosmic justice for getting mixed up in this whole wicked plan to fatten up his old high school bully.
Max smiled at him in that cheeky, naughty way that made Josh’s knees want to buckle.
“My ass will soon be as big as Nathan’s!” Josh joked.
“Absolutely!” Max grinned, looking his body up and down like he was checking him out. “You won’t hear any complaints from me about that!”
Josh’s laugh caught in his throat. Was Max being serious with him? It was the most bizarre feeling he had had around him yet. On the one hand, the handsome guy was telling Josh he’d put on a few pounds. Yet, on the other… it definitely felt as if he was flirting at the same time. “I guess I’ll just have to watch what I eat from now on then…” Josh answered, if only to fill the silent void that would likely have followed had he not.
“Nah…” Max grinned. “Not every man wants to date a stick insect,” he winked. “I wouldn’t be doing any of this to Nathan if I didn’t quietly enjoy it.” He lifted a cream cake out of the container and placed it on the side. “For later,” he smiled at him. “For a man who actually deserves it…”
When Josh stood on the scales the next week, he was shocked to see that he was the heaviest he had been in over two years. He rubbed his fat tummy, able to grab full rolls of fat once again now he was 250lbs. His body was familiar and yet very different at the same time. Even at his heaviest, some 30lbs north of this, he had never carried the fat on his glutes like this before. He shook them, hardly comprehending the blubber that rocked and wobbled. But there was an even greater difference to the last time Josh was this size, one that couldn’t be reflected back at him in the mirror: a contentedness that seemed almost inexplicable. So what if he was fat again? Nathan was still considerably fatter. So what if he enjoyed his food? He’d always been a fat boy, no matter how ‘thin’ he had appeared until recently. He’d been a people pleaser for far too long. Now was the time to accept himself for who he truly was. A new Josh had been born.
“I thought I could smell you frying up doughnuts!” Max laughed, letting himself in through the back door, as he was now accustomed to doing. In this neighborhood, tongues would soon start wagging should he be seen to be coming over too often.
“I found a recipe online,” Josh smiled, still with his back to him as he fried. “I’ll put some to the side for you shortly.”
Max had found the recipe printout on the side and he whistled in delight. “Wow… you are quite the bad boy!” he teased. “This is one of the most fattening things I’ve seen you make yet!”
Josh turned, resetting the timer before the latest batch could come out. “I also made some cupcakes earlier,” he pointed to the cooling rack by the refrigerator. “I’ll put some icing on them and you can take some back with you. How long have you got?”
“Twenty minutes or so,” Max shrugged. “Nathan doesn’t know I’m back from the gym yet. He’s in the bathtub.”
“Let’s hope he doesn’t get wedged in…” Josh teased, knowing that Max’s wicked sense of humour was rubbing off on him. “What a shame that would be!” he joked.
The man smiled brightly at him; that beautiful face, the wicked twinkle in his eyes. “You know, you’ve really come out of your shell these last few weeks,” Max beamed, admiring every part of him.
Josh ripped one of the fresh, sugar-coated doughnuts in half and put it in his mouth. “I’m just done with giving a crap about what other people think of me. I never realised how good it would feel just to… let it all go.”
Max seemed completely mesmerised by him as Josh ate the second half of the doughnut. He turned back around to pull the last batch out and turned the frier off. It was then that Josh heard him getting up from the stool he was perched on at the breakfast bar and come ever closer. Josh had known for a few days what would happen next; the inevitability of it all; the profound sexual tension. It began with Max’s large hands sliding onto his thicker hips. Max stooped down lower, resting his head on Josh’s shoulder and turned his face in towards his; the hunk’s sweet breath against Josh’s ear. “I think that’s the sexiest thing you’ve ever said,” he whispered.
Josh chuckled to himself. It was actually happening! He swivelled, his mouth meeting Max’s as they kissed sweetly and passionately for the first time. They pulled away, looking deeply into the other’s eyes before laughing and going back in for more. Max’s hands began sliding under Josh’s clothes, lifting his t-shirt off, lowering his sweatpants and feeling the fleshy areas of his body that no man had ever appreciated on him before. The sensation made Josh moan, only spurring Max on further as he lustfully consumed him. In no time at all, the clothes covering the lower halves of both their bodies were removed, Max pressing his oversized hardness into an oiled up Josh. He’d lifted the chubby boy up and placed him down upon the table, spreading his thick legs as he held the glutton’s feet aloft. The thrusting was firm, pleasurable and manic. Max pulled out, lifted his shirt off and used his tongue to warm Josh up until he felt ready to scream with enjoyment, before inserting himself back in and going at it once more. Josh felt at his large, doughy nipples as they rocked and jiggled from the motion, laying across the table top. Max too reached out for them, moaning with pure pleasure. The way he touched them was complete eroticism, bringing intense stimulation wherever his large hands went; especially when they started working Josh’s own hardness.
Josh could tell that Max was having to hold himself back. His enjoyment of his wobbling fat body was absolute. Josh could hardly believe that such a handsome, muscular man was actually making love to him, working so hard to ensure that they could both climax together. The inevitable conclusion, only moments later, was more satisfying than any sexual experience of Josh’s whole life.
Max seemed overcome afterwards, panting furiously. He lifted Josh clean up from the table and kissed him once more. “I’m falling in love with you. You do realise that, right?” he whispered sweetly, letting Josh know that, for him, what they had just done wasn’t only for fun.
Josh beamed, gazing up at the man he admired most in the world. He didn;t need to say anything back. At that moment, both of them just knew.
Having a relationship with another guy’s man was not something Josh had ever thought himself capable of. Then again, none of the men he had clumsily drifted along with since high school had ever been like Max. He was so hardworking and reliable; so handsome and kind. He brought out a side of him that Josh never knew existed, and boosted his confidence like no one had ever even tried to. The man was everything Josh could ever have wished for. But then, he was also still in a sham relationship with the guy Josh despised most in the world.
“No-one likes you here. You know that, right?” hissed an aggressive voice that made Josh jump as he deadheaded the last of the late summer blooms.
“Nathan,” Josh sighed, surprised that he hadn’t even noticed the fat lump coming towards him. Max was clearly working late, otherwise the blubbery bully would never have approached him like this in the evening. “How’re you?”
“You heard me, right?” Nathan battled on, ignoring Josh’s attempt at niceties. “No one likes you here.”
Josh continued with what he was doing. It was the first time he’d spoken to Nathan without his heart beating wildly in his chest. “I am very aware that nobody likes me around here, yes,” he replied calmly, snipping away at the faded flowers.
“You should just sell up and leave,” Nathan continued, getting closer. With his massive weight gain, he had the appearance of being even more intimidating than ever before.
Josh simply ignored him, continuing with his gardening. With so many windows facing towards his garden, there was no way Nathan would ever risk getting physical with him, as he used to when they were teenagers. However, Nathan still had the mindset of a reckless bully and needed to be treated with the utmost caution. Perhaps it was his weight that was making him feel so discontented this evening and in need of hitting out on Josh. Indeed, it was somewhat amusing to Josh that Nathan hadn’t so far tried to use Josh’s own weight gain to aggravate him. There could be only one reason for that: Nathan was well aware that he had packed on even more lard himself.
“If people don’t like me much around here, it’s because they believe a pack of lies, maliciously spread in order to ruin my reputation,” Josh simply offered in reply. “And if people actually like you, it’s because they believe all the lies you tell them in order to make yourself look better. Either way, I’d much rather be who I am, rather than you.”
“How’s your brother doing?” Nathan snapped back.
Josh took a breath. Nathan was a master at warfare. When he realised that one thing was failing to get a rise out of Josh, he could always flip to the next. It was flawlessly jarring and caught him off-guard each and every time. Josh could sense Nathan’s power growing.
“That’s one sweet wheelchair he uses these days,” the bully taunted.
In an instant, Josh felt all his patience evaporate. The end had officially arrived. There the hose pipe lay next to him. He reached for it swiftly, knowing the gun was set to the most powerful mode after he’d been clearing out the drains. Then a wicked grin filled his face as he squeezed the trigger tightly. A fast flowing jet of ice-cold water flew out, pressing forcefully into Nathan’s large, fat tummy and soaking him in an instant. The man yelled, clearly caught out by Josh’s surprising backbone. He began retreating, but Josh was in no mood to let him off, holding firmly to that hose pipe gun and aiming relentlessly towards the bully. The fat boy began moving faster, charging across his lawn and towards the safety of his own home. Josh simply followed him with the water, even as the obese man slipped and landed heavily on the grass, face-first. Even then, Josh still aimed that hose at the wide, fat rump of the boy who had tormented him for so long. Nathan quickly picked his heavy body back up and ran onto his porch, slamming his front door behind him.
Invigorated, Josh dropped the hosepipe and laughed. Nathan’s yelling had alerted several figures to appear in the windows along the street. Everyone had seen the incident, but what did it matter? Josh drew in a gigantic refreshing breath of air and bowed deeply to all of them. With a reputation as bad as his around here, he had nothing to lose. Perhaps that had been Nathan’s biggest mistake from the start.
“We could forget all about the plan?” Max suggested as a naked, thoroughly satisfied 250lb Josh rested his head against his powerful chest in bed a few weeks later. “We could just sell up and leave here together. Nathan and his family wouldn’t be our problem anymore.”
Josh sighed. Max’s offer was everything he longed for and more. Calling Max his own was a dream he could hardly dare to imagine. Falling in love had felt like the most natural thing in the world and both of them were open about having never experienced anything like it before. With the pair having lost their parents at such a young age, they knew the value of their bond and the importance of cherishing the shared love that they had. But it wasn’t time to give into it just yet. There was too much hurt and trauma to make amends for.
“Are you getting closer?” Josh asked him. “Whatever case or evidence you’re trying to gather against Nathan’s family?”
Max was quiet. “I think so,” he whispered, intertwining his fingers between Josh’s and admiring his chubby little hands. “The fatter Nathan gets, the more his family seems desperate for me not to leave him. It’s as if they admire me for sticking around. They trust me.”
“Good,” Josh replied. “That’s exactly what we need.”
“So, we’re seeing this one out, all the way to the end?” Max asked him, still quietly hopeful that they could run away together instead.
Josh raised himself up and grabbed the can of spray cream he had kinkily brought into the bedroom with them so that he could lick it off Max’s perfect body. “Of course we are,” he smiled, tilting his head back and pumping the cream down his throat, just like the fat boy inside him had always longed to do. By the time he had finished, he looked down and saw Max’s hardness had been resurrected and amplified tenfold. It was always that greedy, gluttonous, independent side of Josh that the man seemed to admire most. “Besides...” he grinned, starting to stimulate Max’s erection as he climbed on top and grabbed the man’s hands until they rested upon his fleshy love handles, “...I haven’t made that bastard fat enough yet!”
A thoroughly reinvigorated Max growled with lust, flipping the fat boy over and reversing their positions. He reached for the spray cream, grinning from ear to ear as he made love to him for the third time that night, filling Josh’s mouth with fluffy cream, one squirt at a time.
Nathan had started to upset a couple of folks on the street over the next few weeks; his true colours coming through at long last. Josh had thought things were going wrong for Nathan the moment he had tried to get Josh charged for assault and battery after the water hose incident. Despite all the many witnesses in the windows, not one of the neighbors had corroborated Nathan’s claims about the incident. Even Mr Gomez’s security cameras had bizarrely deleted the footage for that entire day. At the time, Josh had simply assumed that Max had called in a couple of favors as he desperately scrambled to discreetly assert some damage control, purely for Josh’s sake. Josh had denied everything to the police, just as Max had advised him to (once he had stopped laughing). However, it seemed once one of Nathan’s lies had been unpicked, more followed as the gossiping neighbors began to compare notes. A re-evaluation had been going on in the street and it seemed as if Josh had suddenly become worthy enough to wave to once more. It was all too little too late in Josh’s opinion, returning only a frosty raised hand in response.
Kelly had tried to muscle her way back into his life, without a word of explanation as to why she had barely spoken a word to Josh in months. She knew she was on thin ice, not daring to comment on how much weight Josh had been piling on in the time that had passed. Instead, she simply launched back into all the tasty bits of gossip Josh had missed out on whilst ostracised; discussing none more so than Nathan.
“I think they’re going to split, him and Max,” Kelly rambled as Josh dug in his winter flowering mix, barely listening to her. “He’s well over three and twenty hundred pounds! They don’t even sleep together anymore!” she whispered. “He lost his job for lying to them. He was trying to poach clients for his family’s business! Derek heard all about it. He said you’ve never heard language like it than when they caught him in the act!”
Josh smirked, having heard all about it from Max over two weeks ago. Kelly was so behind the times!
“He’ll never get another desk job again,” Kelly determined. “He’s just living off poor Max. Although, who the hell knows what he sees in him? Personally, I never liked the man!”
Josh chuckled to himself at the lie, declining the invite to join them in the yoga class that week. That ship had sailed. Even after the neighbors had backed him up with the police, it was likely more about teaching Nathan a lesson than it was about Josh himself. He had seen who his real friends were, and Kelly was not amongst them. Instead, he took himself back inside, excited to get started on a new recipe he had found that morning.
“Something smells nice!” Max whispered later, his hands wrapping around Josh’s thick waist as he stood at the stove. “Your famous chocolate fudge sauce?”
“With extra butter…” Josh teased him back.
“Mmm…” Max mumbled; his hardness pressing into Josh’s large, round rear. “You’re such a bad boy!”
“You know it!” Josh grinned, letting Max’s horny hands travel all over his vast blubbery exterior and into his underwear, warming him up like only Max could. He’d never been as fat as this in his whole life, but life as an average height, 320lb man was suiting him just fine. In Max’s arms he felt sexy and confident; a precious being to be loved and admired. He leaned his  head back into Max’s chest as the man’s hands stimulated his hardness perfectly, making him moan softly as he stirred the sauce.
“And the best part is,” Max whispered, “this fudge mix is all for you. Nathan has gone back to his parents’ place for a few days. That means, he’s going to be there when they’re all arrested tonight. Every last one of them!”
“How?” Josh asked, his face beaming with surprise and shock as he turned to face his lover.
“I finally managed to copy daddy’s hard drive,” Max smirked, raising his big arms over Josh’s shoulders and kissing him sweetly. “There’s stuff on there that implicates them all. Serious stuff!”
“Will they know it was you who passed it onto the police?” Josh asked next, a little concerned.
“Not a chance!” Max grinned triumphantly; his hands now mindlessly rubbing Josh’s giant glutes. “Although, maybe you think I should lay low in your house for a few days, just to be safe, huh?” he joked, clearly aroused by their sudden good fortune. He pulled off his t-shirt and flexed his pecs in the way Josh most enjoyed.
“I like that idea!” Josh smiled back excitedly.
“Oh, yeah?” Max smirked, handling his large glutes and bouncing them in the way that made them wobble the most. “Do you think you’re ready to have a big, strong man around the house all the time? Pampering you as much as he can?” he whispered, kissing his neck passionately.
The fudge sauce was catching on the bottom and burning. Already it was ruined. But what did it matter? Max would never deny him anything he wanted. Josh would whip up some more and consume it in front of him, even as his clothes got ever smaller. Finally, he could be the greedy boy he always was inside, and with a man who had a great track record of keeping his boys well fed.
Hatred had brought them to each other, but it was love that would keep them together, no matter what came next.
“Have you met the new neighbors?” asked Sandra, watching as Max’s truck pulled into his new driveway.
“I popped over yesterday,” nodded Helen, quietly admiring the strapping Max as he got out of his truck, waving to them politely before reaching back in and grabbing a couple of boxes of pizzas from his passenger seat. “He’s certainly very handsome! And incredibly charming!” she admitted, watching Max’s strong glutes as the muscular man strutted into his new home, ready to surprise his husband.
“The other one seemed very nice too,” Sandra commented next, clearly holding back on something.
“Yes, very sweet,” agreed Helen. “If you like that sort of thing. He manages their construction business, you know. Josh does all the admin from home. Max does all the physical side of things.”
“Perhaps that’s why that one is so…” Sandra hinted.
“Yes, perhaps,” Helen nodded. “Although you do get some men who like that sort of thing,” she added, as if knowingly.
“I don’t doubt it,” Sandra chuckled. “Why else would a strapping man like that marry an enormous boy like that? I’d have a fit if one of my children tried to bring home a fat blob like him!”
“Quite right,” Helen agreed. “He must be at least four hundred pounds!”
“Oh, at least!” Sandra echoed. “Disgusting!”
“I saw them in their front yard the other night whilst the handsome one was digging up the flower beds. He couldn’t keep his hands off the fat one! I had to close the curtains in the end. No one wants to see that!”
The pair sighed with a muted longing. They’d already made their minds up about Josh. He wasn’t going to be one of them, and they’d certainly let him know that in time. However, they could all quietly envy him for the rest of their days, able to eat whatever he wanted and keep the attention of a man who would never stray. The man who didn’t need their approval, nor the expected, tedious, married, middle class lifestyle the others here had secretly tired of many years earlier.
Bullies could be found everywhere. They came in all shapes and sizes, encrusted within every walk of life and every last neighborhood there had ever been. But inside that house of warmth, love and acceptance, Josh and Max would never fail to outlast them all.

-
you made your way into the bar, as it was your first weekend living in jersey. you walk in and head straight to the counter, asking for a drink that was sweet and didn’t taste too strongly of alcohol.
“hey stranger.” a voice says to your right and you turn your head.
“dawson?” you say, your eyes widening.
“hey y/n.” he says opening his arms for you to hug him, which you gladly accept.
“how have you been? oh my gosh it’s been what like 3 years.” you say smiling at your old school friend.
“i’ve been good, playing hockey here is fucking awesome.” he says.
“yes! that’s right you play for the devils, how could i forget you getting drafted!” the two of you laugh.
“well how’s your boyfriend? haven’t seen him in a few years either.” he asks curiously.
“funny you should ask, i broke up with him and that’s why i moved here.”
“wait really? why? you don’t have to explain if you’re not comfortable.” the brunette boy asks leaning on the counter.
“well things were so great when we started dating our senior year but within the last year he became a real fucking asshole, so i broke it off and moved away so he couldn’t try to find me and sucker me into being with him again.” you explain, leaving out any details you weren’t ready to share.
“well shit, i’m sorry y/n. i bet that hurt a lot.”
“it did but i’m over it, ready to find someone else.” you say and you practically see the light bulb turn on over his head.
“i think i have someone i want you to meet.” he smirks. you grab your drink and follow close behind him, holding onto his arm.
“hey jack!” dawson says to a brunette boy with bright blue eyes.
“what’s up daws, who’s this?” he says looking at you. you release dawson’s arm and give him a smile.
“jack this is y/n, y/n this is jack.” he says looking between you two.
“nice to meet you, jack.” you say.
“yeah, you too.” he smiles, causing a blush to burn in your cheeks.
“i have to go to the bathroom, you two have fun. don’t get too drunk.” he says giggling and walking off to the bathroom.
“so y/n, what brings you to jersey?” he asks.
“just needed a change of scenery from my hometown. dawson and i went to highschool together.” you tell him.
“oh wow, small world. are you still new to living here or?”
“yeah this is only my first weekend but i’m glad im already meeting people, it was getting pretty lonely.” you laugh.
“well now that you’ve reconnected with dawson, you have a whole new group of people to hang out with.”
“oh are you guys like on the same team?” you ask.
“yeah we are, my brothers around here somewhere. probably tongue deep in some random girl.” he laughs.
“is he older or younger?”
“younger.” he says taking a sip of his drink.
“oh nice.” you smile doing the same.
“can i get your number?” he asks.
“yeah of course.” you say as he hands you his phone.
“what have i missed?” a tall, curly haired boy asks.
“ah yes, y/n, this is my brother luke.”
“nice to meet you.” you say.
“nice to meet you too.” he replies.
“so where were you?” jack asks as i hand him his phone back.
“i was talking to john but i didn’t wanna ruin his game so i came back.” he laughs.
“johnny getting some ladies?”
“he sure was.” luke laughs, taking a sip of his beer.
“i see you’ve met the other one.” dawson says returning from the bathroom.
“yes i have.” i laugh at him. you spent the next 2 hours with the boys, enjoying their presence and the fact that you’d made some friends in your new town.
“well i think im gonna call it a night.” you say taking the final sip of your drink.
“let me walk you?” jack asks.
“yeah sure.” you accept and the two of you make your way out of the bar.
“did you walk here or drive?” he asks stopping once you made it outside.
“oh i walked, i live like two blocks away.”
“okay cool, show me the way.” he says.
“jack you don’t have to.”
“i’m not letting you walk back to your apartment by yourself at midnight in a big city y/n.” he says firmly.
“oh, thank you.” you blush and begin your walk to your apartment. the walk was filled with small talk and laughter, the chemistry between you two growing more and more with seemingly every step.
“well this is my place.” you say arriving at your door.
“alright, have a good night y/n. i’ll text you.” he says as you pull him in for a side hug.
“goodnight jack.” you say shutting the door behind you. it’s been 5 days and you already have a crush on someone you just met. it felt almost wrong. you had broken up with your boyfriend just two weeks ago. you couldn’t allow yourself to move on too quickly. your phone buzzed in your back pocket and you see that dawson had texted you.
dawson: glad you made it back safe!
y/n: thank you! except really you can thank jack
dawson: hahaha well i guess so🙄 have a good night y/n
y/n: you too, see you again soon?
dawson: yes for sure, season starts in like a month and a half i’m sure you’ll get sick of seeing me
y/n: doubt it
dawson: only bc ill bring jack
y/n: bitch
dawson: i’m messing with you lmaooooo goodnight y/n
y/n: goodnight daws😭
-
you woke up the next morning to a text from jack saying good morning, to which you replied with a simple, good morning. texting a new guy felt so wrong. you didn’t know what to do about it but you couldn’t ghost him so you figure you should just keep chatting and see what happens.
“lunch?” you say reading his next text. the boy asked you to lunch, to which you hesitantly agreed to join him. you made yourself a small breakfast to tide you until lunch. you sat on the couch watching tv, growing more nervous by the second. he didn’t ask you on a date, just lunch. maybe he just wants to be friends? after you ate, you put on a casual outfit and added a natural touch to your makeup. he texted the address and you left your apartment, hoping to arrive after him. once you arrive at the, what appears to be, small coffee shop, you’re greeted by jack smiling at the counter.
“sorry i’m a little late.” you laugh nervously.
“no don’t worry, i was just about to order. what do you want?”
“oh jack you don’t have to pay i can’t wait in line.” you say.
“now what kind of man would i be to let a pretty girl like you wait in line and pay for her own food?” he says boldly, a blush creeping up on your cheeks.
“an iced vanilla latte and a buttered croissant is good then.” you simply reply, finding a seat at a table by a large window. he meets you soon after, with a table number in his hand.
“you ever been here before?” he asks, noticing you staring out the window.
“i haven’t, i didn’t even know it was here until you told me about it.” you say redirecting your attention to the boy who already had his eyes on you.
“i come here sometimes, it’s like my special little spot for special occasions.” he smiles leaning back in his chair.
“what’s so special about this occasion?” you question, wanting real answers.
“it’s our first date.” he smirks causing your face to burn bright red.
“well i guess it is isn’t it.” you laugh.
-
once you arrive back at your apartment, you throw your purse to the side and kick off your shoes.
“what have i done? what do i do? oh fuck me, i can’t do this.” you say, that piece of your heart never healing from your past relationship. you couldn’t let go of the mistrust you felt. you never wanted to make the same mistake again, so you called dawson.
“hello?” you speak when he picks up.
“hey y/n, what’s up?”
“can you come over, i need advice.”
“yeah of course, send me your address and i’ll be there.”
“thank you so much, bye daws.” you say hanging up and sending him your address. you sat on your couch almost in a panic. you told yourself over and over to not do this again, especially this soon. a short 10 minutes later, you hear a knock on your door and you open it to see dawson standing there in his sweats.
“did i wake you from a nap?” you laugh.
“yes actually you did, but it’s okay, what’s up?” he says stepping in and shutting the door behind him.
“jack is what’s up.”
“oh?” he says plopping down on my couch.
“so we went out to lunch, he called it our first date.” you say.
“okay what’s the problem with that?” he says.
“you’re not understanding, my ex and i broke up what 3 weeks ago? i can’t move on, how do i know i can trust him?”
“y/n, jacks a nice guy, i wouldn’t have introduced you two if i thought otherwise.”
“i just think it’s too soon dawson.”
“relax, calm down, chill out.” he says standing up and placing his hands on your biceps.
“how am i supposed to be calm?”
“y/n, no one is rushing you into a relationship. you are not committed to the guy, you went on ONE date. you aren’t married to him, just relax. i know it’s hard, i don’t know all the details of your break up but obviously you let your mistrust cloud your vision of good people. i wouldn’t let you go down a dark rabbit hole, and you know that.” he says calming your nerves. dawson always had a way of getting to you and calming you down when necessary, even though it had been years since you last saw the boy.
“okay you’re right.” you say sighing.
“and you don’t have to worry, he’s leaving to go to michigan for a couple days tomorrow, so you can spend time away from him and just texting, so you can get to know him better without it being to serious for you.” he adds.
“perfect.” you laugh.
“now why don’t we chill out and watch a movie, you’re clearly stressed and i want you to clear your mind.” he states, grabbing the remote and switching on the tv. after a couple hours, dawson heads home, leaving you alone with nothing but your phone.
jack: hey i’m headed to michigan tmrw morning, hang when im back?
y/n: yes for sure!
jack: ok awesome, see you then
y/n: *loved a message*
you sat with your thoughts. you were terrified of the possibilities with jack, you couldn’t help it. it’s like your brain had been hardwired to push him away, but you fought the urge harder than anyone could ever know.
-
it had been about two weeks and jack returned from his trip a few days ago. the two of you have been texting nonstop. you learned the silly facts about each other and his personality shined through even on text. he was beginning to give you that glimpse of hope that you thought you’d lost for good.
“i just don’t know.” you spoke to dawson through the phone.
“he’s never texted a girl this long, he obviously likes you.”
“well you never know.”
“he has had women throw themselves at him and he’s rejected all of them. don’t you see it.”
“i do but i just don’t know if it’s the best idea.”
“y/n, just give it another go. go on another date with him. you won’t regret it, you and i both know that as much as you don’t want to admit that your crush is more than just a silly little crush.”
“god, daws you always know how to pick my brain what is wrong with you?” you laugh.
“um nothing, im just correct.” he scoffs.
“okay whatever, ill call him tonight okay?” you reply hoping it’ll shut him up.
“i’m holding you to it, so you better.”
“whatever mercer.”
-
“hello?” you hear a muffled jack on the other end of the line.
“hey jack, i was wondering if maybe you’d wanna go out again some time? i had a great time with you.”
“yeah absolutely!”
“does tomorrow work?” you ask, holding your breath.
“yeah i don’t have any plans. ill come pick you up at 1?”
“perfect.” you smile to yourself.
“i’ll see you tomorrow y/n.”
“bye jack.” you say hanging up the phone, wanting to scream with excitement. you had no clue how this could feel the way it does so soon after your breakup.
-
2 months later
“hey,” jack says shaking you awake.
“huh.” you groan opening your eyes.
“i have a skate to go to, ill be back okay?” he says, you fully processing your surroundings.
“oh, yeah okay. have fun.” you smile as he leans down to kiss you on the cheek. you’d stayed the night at his house just like you have for a few nights every week since your second date though you never established a label for your relationship, just placing the boyfriend name tag on him when you’re out by yourself, too afraid to use it around him. the idea of him leaving you to skate sucked, and you shoved down these feelings so they wouldn’t get in the way of anything. you never wanted him to leave your sight. you hated that you’d grown so attached. you pulled out your phone to call dawson, always filling him in with updates.
“hey miss hughes, what you up to?” he asks picking up.
“dawson stop,” you laugh, “i just woke up, jack just left for optional skate.”
“oh that’s funny i’m on my way there now.”
“i’m sure he’ll ive you all the details.”
“yeah he always does but you’re gonna tell me what’s going on in that little brain of yours first.”
“i hate when he leaves dude. i hate it. i feel like i have no right to be this attached. being around him makes me so fucking happy, it’s like all my problems disappear when he’s around. but i need to face it, he probably doesn’t even want me.”
“you’re lying but go on.”
“lying about what?”
“you really think he ever keeps girls around this long if he doesn’t wanna be with them? be for real with yourself y/n.” he says plainly.
“okay well, point is, i’ve grown attached and i don’t understand my feelings daws.”
“i think you love him.” he laughs.
“you’re crazy.” you scoff.
“did you listen to anything you just said?”
“what part?”
“god damnit, think before you speak y/n. the way you feel when you’re around him is love. practically in its exact definition.”
“it’s only been 3 months that i’ve known the guy.”
“bitch do you really think love has a timeline?”
“well n-“
“THEN GO GET HIM.”
“i’m not gonna go, he’s skating.”
“i meant it figuratively, just wait for him to come back and see how different you feel compared to talking to me on the phone. don’t leave. don’t panic and push him away y/n. give him a shot.”
“okay okay, ill talk to you later dawson.”
“alright, bye y/n.” he says hanging up abruptly. you knew deep down that he was probably right and you couldn’t admit it to yourself. you sat on his couch for a few hours, waiting to hear the lock turn again, when suddenly it did.
“oh hey, you’re still here? i thought you’d be gone by now.” he laughs, hanging his keys on the hook.
“no i wanted to stay, your couch is cozy.”
“well i’m glad you’re still here.” he says, kissing you on top of the head as he passed behind the couch. dawson was right, you felt giddy when jack entered the room, and the feeling didn’t settle. he returns back to the living room.
“you look like you’re thinking.” he says sitting down next to you. you sit up and turn to him.
“i am thinking.” you say, anxiety running through your body at full speed, knee bouncing.
“what’s on that pretty mind of yours?” he giggles placing a hand on your leg gently.
“i think i love you.” you say quietly, the words slipping off your tongue with struggle. you finally let yourself trip and fall. it felt almost freeing. his demeanor shifts as a smile grows on his face. he sits up to get closer to you.
“what was that?” he asks, smile growing wider.
“i think i love you. no no, i do. i do love you. i love you jack. i know we never attached a label to whatever we are but i can’t keep pushing my feelings away anymore. i just love you.” you say finally being able to lock eyes with him. he connects your lips in response, framing your cheek with his callused hand. when you pull away his gorgeous smile returns.
“fuck, i love you too y/n.” he laughs, a wave of relief washing over you. you couldn’t believe how jack changed your perspective on love and men so quickly but it never felt more true to you. you couldn’t deny your feelings anymore no matter how hard you tried. you finally let yourself fall, and thank god it was into the right hands this time.

Idc what anyone says s1 of 911 was really good.
That being said...
_
"Why is that guy staring at you?" Tommy asked, he and Evan were meeting up for breakfast after their respective shifts. They figured it would be easier for Evan to meet up closer to the harbor than Tommy driving to DTLA. They both agreed to meet at a little garden themed coffee shop in silver lake before heading back to Tommy's.
Tommy had caught the dark haired guy not necessarily ogling Evan, but more so looking as if he was studying Evan. He looked around Tommy's age or older, dark black hair and grayish beard. The man with him, a curly haired dark blond man, seemed skittish.
"Do you know them?" Tommy asked, pointing at the men now.
Evan turned towards them, seeing now that the blonde man was trying to hide his face and the dark haired man was waving at them as if they were old friends.
Evan let out an excited laugh, "I think I do, yeah. " he waved back. Laughing again when he saw that the dark haired man tried to swat the blonde man with the laminated menu.
Tommy cocked his head to side, brow arched as he watched the pair- clearly a couple with their matching rings and comfortable demeanor- approached them. "Heads up." Tommy cocked his head towards the encroaching couple.
"Hi, Buck, right?" The dark haired man said nervously, holding on tightly to the blond mans hand. "I'm sure you don't remember-"
Evan’s smile was infectious as he looked at Tommy and then at the couple, pointing at the blonde man as he said "Too much sushi guy."
The blonde man groaned into his hands as the dark haired man chuckled, "The nicest way to describe that night."
Evan laughed as he stuck out his hand, "it's good to see you guys," he nodded towards the blond man, "Glad to know you're okay after that."
Tommy could feel the dark haired guy's eyes studying him, while blonde guy looked like he was anxious still.
"I don't think we ever got to introduce ourselves properly, I'm Paul and this is-"
"Conner." Evan supplied cheerfully.
Tommy did his best to look down at the table while trying to not laugh. He figured what Paul and Conner were trying to do when they came to their table, and he couldn’t blame them. He adored Evan, but Tommy knew how Evan had a tendency to unconsciously flirt with men prior to coming out. It was adorably funny when he had pointed that out to Evan at first (with Evan nearly collapsing into his pillow about how a firefighter in Texas thought Evan had asked him out on a date).
Paul's smile was almost smug as Conner looked a bit bashful. "So you remember him." Paul teased.
Evan shrugged, "My roommate's name back then was Conner too. Easy to remember."
Tommy took a sip of his coffee to keep from laughing at Conner's disappointed face.
"Totally." Paul noted, eyeing Tommy as he continued "Well, we didn't mean to interrupt breakfast with your... teammate?"
Granted, they were both wearing their LAFD hoodies. But Tommy could pick up the inflection of piqued interest in Paul's voice. Conner just looked like he was struggling to determine what they are based off looks alone.
"Oh," Evan smiled bashfully at Tommy, knocking his foot against Tommy's under the table, "He's not my teammate but he's an awesome firefighter pilot down at the harbor station." Evan rested his hand against Tommy's and Tommy caught the look of excitement on Conner and Paul's face (and he swore he heard Paul say "called it") before they shifted to something more neutral when Evan turned to them again. "This is my boyfriend Tommy Kinard."
Tommy was all smiles and let out a huff of laughter as Conner and Paul both eagerly shook his hand.
"A hot firefighter pilot?" Conner teased, "You got lucky."
Tommy squeezed Evan's hand. "I definitely was the one to luck out."
The group made idle chit chat for a while before Paul noted they should let Buck and Tommy get back to eating breakfast so that they could rest.
Tommy waited till he was sure Paul and Conner were out of ear shot. "It was Conner?"
Evans face scrunched in confusion, "Huh?"
"I'm guessing you might have accidentally flirted with one of them during the call, guessing it was Conner?" Tommy asked with a smirk.
Evans eyes went wide as Tommy laughed, "How did you know?"
Tommy had seen a picture of the firefighter from Texas on Evan's Instagram.
And obviously Tommy knew what he himself looked like.
"You have a type." Tommy explained, still laughing at a very red faced Evan.

sunshine and midnight rain
(remus lupin x reader)
contents : fluff, kissing, sweethearts in the sweetest love 😭🩷
  . • ☆ . ° .• °:. *₊ ° . ☆
when he first saw you walking this morning with the brightest smile ever, he wanted to hold you and forget about everything in schedule today.
he saw you waving to a ravenclaw, blowing the girl a kiss as the two of you laughed. it was so adorable and heart warming. he couldn't believe it.
you plopped down next to him, greeting your boyfriend a good morning.
"morning, angel," he replied, kissing your head with a gentle yet firm pressure.
"how'd you sleep last night?" you asked, rubbing his cheeks softly.
"um good," he replied shortly. "would be better if you were with me but i'll survive," he smiled.
"oh rem, you can always ask me to be with you whenever you want okay?"
"i know, lovie," he replied, kissing you once more on your soft cheek.
when you two first started dating, it was a huge shock to the friend group. you two were the absolute opposite of each other and maybe that's why you two completed each other so well.
remus needs rays of golden sunshine, a beautiful princess-like girl whose heart is veiled with fresh daisies and soft hands to keep himself grounded while you needed those midnight rains to keep your flower field of your heart blooming continuously.
he remembered the first date you two had was on the most whimsical day ever. he laid out a picnic date for the two of you in the middle of a field of wild flowers.
when he saw you walking in from the door, his eyes were met with fleecy skin, sparkly eyes, light pink clothes, and a pure heart to tie them all together.
he couldn't believe it. such a dreamy girl wanted to be on a date with him!
he felt special. lucky. and best.
"you're absolutely stunning," he mumbled in awe as he saw you sitting down next to him, your soft skirt calmly hovering above his leg.
"remus, so are you," you said, smiling at him with a smile so sugary.
remus realised how quiet you were being. but he knew that he's not the cause of it. you were calm and peaceful, enjoying the soft winds surrounding you two.
"i made some food for us both, i hope you're hungry," he said, putting a good amount of food on to the plate he brought.
"mmm looks tasty," you beamed. "you must be a very good cook."
"i try," he smiled weakly. "i hope it isn't too bad, sorry if it is."
you took a portion of it, placing it on your mouth as you hummed in contentment. "it's delicious! do you cook a lot?" you asked.
"i help my mom sometimes, yeah," he blushed, squeezing your soft knuckles.
"oh that's so sweet of you!" you giggled.
he loves you. so very much. he has been looking for you since he first heard his mother reading a romance fairytale when he was a child.
of course he wasn't thinking of you at that very moment. but he was hoping to have a lovely fairytale, he's glad his hope was fulfilled by meeting you.
he knew at the first moment he landed eyes on you, you will wrap his fragile heart in the most precious and endless love. he wasn't mad about it, he knew he will always have you by his side and he can rely on you whenever.
despite his rough and grumpy exterior, inside his heart was painted with your colours of pearls: pale white, pink, and softly glowing.
his friends teased him about it.
"how can she make you so soft and puddly? you're like a stone with us," sirius groaned. they're best of friends. remus is familiar with sirius' hyperbole jokes.
remus didn't reply, he kept on reading.
"moony, what do you call a dark house with pink interior?" sirius asked, one of his jokes.
"hmm?" remus replied, unamused.
"a remus!" sirius roared with laughter, james laughing along as he patted sirius' back for his horrible joke.
usually after a full moon, remus wouldn't even break a smile. he physically couldn't. but ever since you're his, he smiled whenever you visited him at the infirmary.
even james told you about it. "our grumpy remus smiles more often now that he met you," said the boy when you returned from the hospital wing to eat breakfast.
"really?" your heart warmed. you loved making people smile. it felt like you had accomplished something so special. although it's not a hard thing for people to do when you're around.
"yup. he usually sulks around the room after his furry little problem but now he looks... healthier and more alive somehow," sirius said.
"i'm so glad. i think he deserves the best of the best."
at first remus' friends were hesitant about your relationship, afraid that remus' cold demeanour would gloom down your shine but it never did. if anything your shine had brightened him up.
his friends were grateful and happy for remus. they know you're the perfect girl for him. a big part of loving someone else is to love yourself first. and you did that both so wonderfully.
remus isn't scared of you not accepting him for his lycanthropy. though he does have a fear of hurting you one day. that doesn't stop him from loving you and being open to you about himself.
he knew you're open minded. with your bold beliefs of equal rights in society. he wasn't scared. he wasn't in pain. after all the awful things the universe had given him, a lovely sweet girl is there, making the life he has bearable again.
the first night after he told you about his lycanthropy, you wanted to stay for him. but he insisted on you to not to do that and meet him the next morning instead.
no, he wasn't embarrassed of his appearance right after the transformation. his scars don't heal overnight. he physically looked the same the night before and the morning after, except that he's more relaxed the next morning as for the slumber really helped.
he just doesn't want you to be tired. he wanted you to sleep well. having the rest an angel always needs. of course you wanted to be with him before and after. but you know better than to go against him during his weakest point.
you see him the next morning, bringing a bag of chocolates and croissants.
you placed the bag on the bedside table, reaching for his hand instead. he was still asleep, eyes fluttering cause he's dreaming. you caressed his rough and scarred fingers softly, humming a tune.
remus woke up in the most peaceful way ever. seeing you beside him, playing with his fingers. "morning, princess."
you looked over at him, smiling so big. "oh morning, my remus," his heart fluttered when he heard the nickname. he is yours. forever yours.
"you're here, darlin'."
"i am, i brought breakfast for you," you grabbed the bag of chocolate and croissants, opening them.
he sat up, reaching for the pastry but you pushed his hand away, making him frown in confusion. "i will do the work for you. you've been doing so much to me and i want to do this in return," you giggled. "sit back and relax."
"you don't have to," he said.
"i know. i would never do this to anyone except you."
remus smiled at that, opening his mouth to let you feed him. "you're such a doll. you're so good to me and sometimes i feel like i don't deserve this treatment... i'm not good enough."
"rem, don't worry about that," you smiled at him softly, wiping away the drop of chocolate on his chin. "you have to love and accept yourself. i'm here to be with you all along the journey. i want you to be good to your body, be good to yourself and never say such things like that. life becomes good when you love yourself."
"is your life good?" he asked.
"the best," you answered. "i've learned to be grateful for everything- 'cause i have everything," you chuckled, squeezing his knuckles. "maybe i'm not the ideal type of girl in every person''s eyes but i am my type of girl."
"you're everything i aspire to be," remus said, holding his hand over yours over his heart.
"i love you," you said.
"i love you, darlin', i won't ever stop," he smiled.

silly goose | kwon soonyoung
hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii we're back baby. genre is: crack. fake dating sort of. friends to ??? basically in love i guess. everyone is an idiot and it's awesome. warnings: reader is implied to be female, wears a dress, does hair and makeup, reader is briefly followed in a menacing kind of way, soonyoung is literally the most dumbest man ever but in the BEST way, reader's friends are quite honestly the actual worst, there is a rather frightening animal encounter that's mostly just funny but could be triggering if you're afraid of birds, lmk if there's anything else i forgot!!! word count: 8.3k
If one was to look up the definition of disappointment, you’re almost positive they’d see a picture of your mom’s face if she ever found out you were in this situation. You’re disappointed in yourself. It was never your plan to be in a loud, crowded club, smushed up against the bar by two large bikers who are bouncing up and down to the beat of the music so that the spikes on the back of the taller one’s jacket get dangerously close to your eyeball. And yet, here you are.
You desperately search the room for the group of very tipsy women you came here with, but they’re nowhere to be found. Scowling, you start to inch out from behind the bikers into a slightly more open space, but even with your improved vantage point, you don’t see them. You curse. Did they really leave you here?
It’s hard for you to understand why you were even invited to this bachelorette party. The bride is your childhood best friend, but you’ve been out of touch for years. Your lives went in completely different directions after high school, clearly evidenced by the predicament in which you currently find yourself. Where you had never been the life of the party, she seemed to have no life without a party. You found yourself wishing for the thousandth time you could be at home with your books and your remote and your cat.
You decide there’s nothing for it and head outside to try and call your friend. She picks up on the third ring, and her voice is slurred and barely distinguishable over the cacophony of sound in the background of the call. You think she’s saying that they’re taking a bus to a bar across town -- about an hour away from where you are now. To get there, you’d have to call a cab and pay almost $100, or you could walk to your apartment, which is three blocks from here. “I’m going to go home,” you tell her, and she laughs and agrees and hangs up.
You grimace at your phone screen and shiver slightly. It’s a chilly night, and you didn’t bring a jacket, so you decide it’s best if you start walking. The way home is well-lit and relatively crime free, so you aren’t nervous as you set off from the club.
That is, until you notice someone is tailing you. He’s a taller man, with scruffy facial hair and red-rimmed eyes that scare you. As you glance over your shoulder, he calls after you. “Where are you headed?” he asks.
“Going to meet my boyfriend,” you claim, desperately trying to shake him off. He seems to be picking up speed, slowly gaining on you as you walk, and as you round a corner you see a group of three well-dressed men standing in front of the movie theater just ahead. “That’s him right there,” you say, pointing at them, and the man trailing after you only picks up his speed, so you make the risky choice to jog toward them and grab ahold of the nearest man’s arm. He has his back toward you, but as you wrap your hand around his bicep, he turns to look at you.
Oh, wow, you think. Because you couldn’t have chosen a hotter man to pretend to be your boyfriend -- unless, of course, you were to have chosen either of his friends. It was strange to be surrounded by so many extremely attractive men, almost like interrupting a model meetup. But you quickly recover, smiling at the man whose arm you grabbed and saying, “Hi, honey.”
You try to communicate with your eyes, and though the man at first looks confused, he glances over your head and sees the man who’d been following you and his eyes light with understanding. “Hello, muffin!” he shouts far too loudly.
You wince. Muffin? you think to yourself. But still, you can’t help but be amused as he puts an arm around you and sends an angry look at the man. “This is my girlfriend,” he yells at him.
“You’re being way too obvious, dude,” one of your fake boyfriend’s friends hisses at him.
“I call BS,” the stalker says, to your horror and surprise. “What’s her name?”
“Mildred,” your fake boyfriend says with no hesitation.
You try not to let the shock of this answer register on your face.
The stalker hesitates. “Is he really your boyfriend, Mildred?”
You bite your lip to keep from laughing at the ridiculousness of it all. “Uh, yep.”
“Oh, okay then,” the stalker says. The three of you stare at each other for awhile before he turns around and leaves.
“I cannot believe that worked,” one of your fake boyfriend’s friends says, smacking his forehead.
“Remind me never to call you in a crisis,” the other one says, chuckling.
“What do you mean?” your fake boyfriend says indignantly. He looks at you, as though wanting your opinion, his arms still around you. “I feel like we nailed that.”
You can’t help but smile at him. He really is unfairly pretty, with perfectly tousled black hair, an artful slit in one eyebrow, and a smile that has you wondering if maybe you do believe in love at first sight. “Thanks for helping me out,” you say, so you don’t have to lie and agree that he nailed it. “Do I really look like a Mildred, though?”
“Mildred is a lovely name,” he says matter-of-factly. “And you are lovely.”
You laugh, feeling a little hot around the collar. “And what’s your name?” you ask him, holding out your hand for him to shake.
He takes it and shakes it with a warm smile. “I’m Soonyoung,” he says. He releases you from his grip with a small shake, as though reminding himself to do it. As if he’d gotten lost in you for a second.
“Soonyoung,” you repeat. “And your friends?”
“Seungkwan,” the shorter of the two others says.
“Seokmin,” the taller one replies.
“Soonyoung, Seungkwan, Seokmin,” you chant. “Well, thanks so much for your help, guys. I need to get home to my cat.”
“By yourself?” Seokmin says in a worried tone.
“In the dark?” Seungkwan follows, equally worried.
“Without a jacket?” Soonyoung says, his brow furrowed in concern.
“Well...” you say. “It’s not very far.”
“How far?” Seungkwan asks.
You hesitate. “How do I know you’re not serial killers?”
They all blink at you. “Us?” Seokmin asks.
“We’re idiots,” Soonyoung says sincerely.
They all nod in agreement. “Seriously. If we were serial killers, we’d be caught in no time,” Seungkwan says.
“Let us walk you home,” Soonyoung insists. “I want to meet your cat.”
You’re still a bit nervous, but they keep a respectful distance as they walk you down the next two and a half blocks to your apartment building. You quickly realize that they weren’t lying.
They are actually idiots.
The entire fifteen minute walk, Seungkwan and Seokmin are arguing about whether or not tomatoes are a fruit, culminating in Soonyoung opining that if tomatoes are a fruit, ketchup is a smoothie. The other two are (understandably) outraged by this, leaving you comforted that you actually could probably take all three of them in a fight at once, seeing as how they all seem to share one single brain cell.
There’s something so endearing about their banter, though. So much so that when you finally arrive at the apartment, you find yourself asking if they want to come in for a minute and escape the chilly weather.
“Are you sure?” Seokmin asks.
“Positive. I have some instant ramen we could make, too. Just to warm you up. As a thank you for getting me home safe.”
They look at each other and then nod. “We’d love to,” Seungkwan says.
So you lead them up to your door on the third floor. “Your apartment is so cute!” Soonyoung exclaims, admiring the pretty crocheted decorations that line your walls. “I love these.”
“Thanks,” you say. “I made them.”
He looks at you in awe. “You did? That’s so cool!”
“I’m glad you think so,” you say with a smile.
“What do you do for work?” Soonyoung asks you.
“I’m a social worker,” you tell him. “I work with families in tough situations. Help them get their feet under them.”
“Do you work for the government, then?” asks Seungkwan.
“Make yourself at home,” you tell the three of them, who are standing awkwardly in the entry. As they settle onto the couch, you explain, “I actually work for a subcontractor of the government. We’re a nonprofit. On weekends, we also do a soup kitchen, and help run food banks throughout the county.”
“That must be very fulfilling work,” Seokmin points out. “Do you like it? I hear it can be tiring.”
“It’s good, but I don’t get paid enough,” you admit. “And before you ask, I do have a roommate. She’s just in the hospital. Appendicitis.”
They all wince, and Seungkwan hums sympathetically. You head to your pantry and rummage around looking for the instant ramen, finally locating it and putting a pan on the stove with water. Meanwhile, the guys find your box full of games and pull out the Monopoly. “We should play this!” Seokmin says.
Seungkwan laughs. “We just met her, and you already want to ruin our friendship?”
Soonyoung pulls out a deck of cards. “How about Scum?”
The three of them set up the game while you make the ramen, and by the time you’re all served up all the cards have been dealt. You watch them over your own bowl of ramen, amused at the gusto with which they eat and heartwarmed by their compliments. You’re generally a bit of an introvert, but even you have been lonely the past few days with your roommate gone, and the unexpected company is warm, inviting, and friendly.
Until Scum begins. Unbeknownst to you, this group of three is the most cutthroat, merciless group of players who have ever lived. Their competition knows no bounds, and they seem determined to destroy each other, by whatever means necessary. “Don’t worry,” Seokmin whispers conspiratorially to you while Soonyoung and Seungkwan argue tooth-and-nail about a minor rule of the game. “They’re always like this, but they really do love each other.”
It takes all of them by surprise when you are the first to get rid of your cards, guaranteeing you the “king” spot. “That came out of nowhere!” complains Seungkwan.
You shrug. “I’m good with strategy games. Never challenge me to a game of Settlers of Catan,” you joke.
Just then, your cat pokes his head around the corner and mewls reproachfully at all the noise you’re making. “Hi!” Soonyoung says excitedly, quickly dropping his cards to head over to the cat, making little cooing noises at him as he strokes his soft orange fur. “What’s its name?”
“He’s a he,” you tell him. “And his name is Tiger.”
The three men all freeze and look at you. “What?” you ask, looking around at them in worry.
“No way,” Soonyoung breathes.
Seungkwan groans. “You’ve really done it now.”
“What did I do?” you ask, bewildered.
“That’s like, the forbidden word,” Seokmin says, his tone apologetic.
Your eyes land on Soonyoung, whose entire face has lit up. “I love tigers,” he says, looking on the verge of tears.
“Love is an understatement,” Seungkwan says. “He is about to ask for your hand in marriage.”
“Will you marry me?” Soonyoung asks immediately afterward, making you laugh. His hands are still gently cupping Tiger’s face, his thumbs rubbing the cat’s fur back tenderly.
“I barely know you, Soonyoung,” you remind him. “You’ll have to pretend to be my boyfriend a couple more times before I’ll agree to marriage.”
“Bet,” Soonyoung says. “This cat needs a father. There’s nothing sadder than a fatherless cat.”
You privately disagreed, but it makes you laugh again all the same. “When am I ever going to need you to pretend to be my boyfriend?”
Soonyoung tsks. “I’m sure we could think of something.”
But almost as soon as you’d asked the question, you remembered: the wedding.
Your friend’s wedding -- the one who’d abandoned you tonight. And the one who, against your wishes, had invited your horrible ex-boyfriend. You’d had a plus-one — your roommate, who you’d enlisted to make the entire event endurable. But last-minute, her sister had needed help babysitting her daughter while she went to a divorce hearing on the day of the wedding. The wedding was in two weeks, and you didn’t have a backup date.
Soonyoung watches in satisfaction as your face falls. “Tell me,” he says. “How can I be of service?”
“Well…you can say no,” you preface, and he chuckles. “But...”
You launch into the story of the night. Soonyoung, Seungkwan, and Seokmin listen well throughout it, making noises of exasperation and annoyance as you explain why you’d had to interrupt their evening by pretending to be Soonyoung’s girlfriend. “They really left you there?” Soonyoung asks, frowning. He seems to tire of crouching by Tiger, so he sits crosslegged on the ground. You watch carefully as Tiger gingerly climbs into Soonyoung’s lap -- something it took him almost a year to do with you. Tiger is an affectionate and social cat, but he does take some time to warm up, usually. But something about Soonyoung seems to have put him at ease. Soonyoung doesn’t even seem to notice, absently massaging his fingers into Tiger’s neck fur.
“They really did,” you finally reply, oddly touched by the sight of Soonyoung with your cat.
“You need better friends,” Seungkwan says indignantly.
You give him a weak smile. “You’re probably right about that. But I already said I’d go, and they’ve planned for me. So it’d be bad to back out now.” You sigh. “It would be so nice to have someone to go with who’s friendly. And you can totally say no if that’s too much awkwardness to put up with for an evening.”
“Well, I have no problems with going if it means I get to spend more time with your cat in between now and then,” Soonyoung says, tickling Tiger’s stomach and giggling as Tiger swats at his fingers.
“You can always come see my cat whenever you want,” you promise him. “Even if you say no.”
“Really?” he asks, sounding thrilled. “I mean, I’m saying yes, though.”
You let out a deep breath. “Thank you so much. You’re such a lifesaver.”
“I know. Imagine the poor decisions this cat would’ve made if I hadn’t decided to be his dad.”
“I resent the implication that I am a horrible mother who can’t raise a cat to be a good citizen who makes positive contributions to society.”
“Yeah, you psycho, respect this single mother!” Seungkwan says, smacking Soonyoung’s arm.
“Well, you’re partially right,” you admit with a laugh. “Tiger is a war criminal with warrants in 32 countries.”
Soonyoung laughs as well. “See! Fatherless behavior.”
“Plenty of cats grow up to be respectable without fathers,” you say indignantly. “Just not Tiger. He’s possessed of a devil.”
The four of you all have a good laugh about this, while Tiger chirps indignantly at the sudden sound, clambering out of Soonyoung’s lap and darting down the hallway. “Traitor!” Soonyoung calls after him, heading back to the card table to finish playing.
By the time the trio bows themselves out of your apartment, you feel warm and sleepy. It’s been a long time since you’ve had people over to your house and enjoyed it — you had forgotten how nice it was.
******
“Hey there,” you greet your friend Ginger, who waves at you from her hospital bed.
“Hi,” she says back. “How was the bachelorette party?”
“A complete disaster, as predicted,” you tell her, pulling up a chair next to her bed. “When are you coming home?”
“Tonight, if things go well,” she informs you. “But you said you had something to tell me. Is it good or bad?”
“It’s good,” you say with a shy smile.
“How good?” she asks with a raised eyebrow.
“Like, weird-good.”
“Explain.”
“I found a date for tomorrow.”
Her eyes go wide. “You caught someone’s eye? During the bachelorette party?”
“No, after. Well, actually, the guy whose eye I caught was a total creep. But then I forced a different dude to be my fake boyfriend to shake off the first dude, and he agreed to be my date to the wedding.”
“Is he gonna pretend to be your boyfriend there too?” she asks, a suggestive edge to her voice.
“I don’t think so. I mean, we just talked about him coming with me so I wouldn’t have to go alone.”
“How did that even come up?” she asks you.
“Well, they kind of walked me home...”
“They?”
“There were three of them initially,” you explain apologetically.
“You let three random strangers walk you home?”
“Well, they openly admitted to being idiots when I asked if they were serial killers, so I thought it was probably safe.”
“You’re an idiot,” Ginger says dryly.
“Anyway, Soonyoung -- the one who’s gonna be my date -- wanted to meet Tiger. Because he loves tigers. And then it kind of devolved into playing Scum, and then Soonyoung claimed that if he just spent more time with Tiger he’d stop committing dastardly crimes every chance he gets. And then he asked if I’d need a fake boyfriend so that he could help me raise my cat right, and it was this whole thing, and now that I’m telling you the story it sounds really dumb but it was kind of sweet.”
Ginger is staring at you with raised eyebrows during this whole account. When you finally clam up, she sighs. “So, I hate to be the person to have to tell you this, but Soonyoung is actually in love with you.”
“What?” you gasp. “Why do you think that?”
“He is using your cat to get closer to you because he’s too scared to really ask you out because he really likes you.”
“I’m not sure that’s true. You should’ve seen his face when he heard the cat was named Tiger.”
Ginger rolls her eyes. “Girl, I know more about men than I care to admit. This is textbook crush behavior.” She grunts as she adjusts her position. “And I think you like him back, too.”
“I barely know him,” you protest, heat rising in your cheeks.
“Is he hot?” she asks shrewdly.
“Yes,” you answer, without hesitation or even a single iota of forethought. You cringe at your own obviousness, and Ginger laughs.
“It’s okay,” she reassures. “But how hot?”
You consider for a while before answering. “It’s hard to describe,” you complain, feeling more and more uncomfortable the longer it takes. “He’s...pretty.”
“A pretty boy?” Ginger repeats.
“No, like, he doesn’t look dainty -- but he’s not rugged or anything. But he doesn’t exactly look soft either. But he’s not quite all the way to edgy.” You realize you’re rambling once you catch sight of Ginger’s face.
Ginger shakes her head. “You’re a goner,” she sighs.
Conveniently, your phone starts buzzing before you can respond -- not that you really had a response anyway. It’s an unknown number, but you decide to answer it. “Hello?” you say.
“Hi,” a familiar voice chirps on the other end. Your eyes go wide, and you mouth “Soonyoung” to Ginger, who is observing curiously.
“Hi!!!” you respond back, and then wince -- you were a little too eager, and Ginger makes a face at you too. You resolve to be much cooler going forward, and take a deep breath to steady yourself.
“Hi,” he says again, this time sounding amused. “What’s up?”
“Hi. Um, nothing much,” you reply. “What’s up with you?” Wow, what a zinger! you think to yourself. Why did you choose this moment to become an awkward fumbling mess?
“Well, I’m near your apartment, and I was wondering if you were home. I missed Tiger, you see.”
“Ah,” you say. “Well, um, I’m actually...out right now?” Your voice raises a few notes too high at the end of your phrase, and Ginger is pinching the bridge of her nose in exasperation, trying to fight back a laugh.
“Ah, that’s bad luck. Where are you?” Soonyoung asks.
“I’m just visiting my roommate in the hospital,” you say, confused as Ginger frantically shakes her head and makes an X with her hands.
“Tell him you were just leaving and you’ll be there soon,” she hisses, pushing you with her foot off of her hospital bed.
“Oh, how is she doing?” Soonyoung asks. “Is she feeling better?”
“She’s absolutely fine,” you grunt, trying to fend off Ginger’s attacks and failing, slumping off the bed onto the floor. “I was actually on my way home, though. Do you have time to wait?” You stand and snatch your bag from off the small table in the room and stick your tongue out at Ginger, who blows you a kiss and waves enthusiastically as you leave.
“Yes,” Soonyoung responds immediately. “Actually, are you hungry? I brought some chicken.”
“I’m actually starving,” you answer honestly. “I’ll be there in ten minutes.”
True to your word, you sprint all the way out of the hospital and almost all the way home, stopping around the corner to your place to try and catch your breath and look cool when you see Soonyoung. Ginger’s words bounce around your brain in a disconcerting way, and you feel like you’re sweaty and flustered in a way that no amount of time stalling could really fix. So you decide to just bite the bullet and turn the corner.
You can see Soonyoung waiting at the door to your apartment building. When he catches sight of you, his whole face lights up in a smile. And oh, what a smile it is. You have to physically restrain yourself from squealing at how obscenely adorable he is -- his eyes softening into crescents, his cheeks going all round and his nose scrunching just slightly. You can’t help but smile back as you finally reach him. “Hey,” you say, going for a breezy, cool vibe and missing the mark embarrassingly.
“Hi,” Soonyoung says, and to your comfort, he sounds just as eager as you did on the phone. “Um, how was the walk?”
“It was great! Super chill, super lowkey,” you lie through your teeth, thinking about how you had sprinted in a very not-chill, not-lowkey way to come see him.
“That’s good!” he exclaims back.
“What were you doing near my house?” you ask, leading him toward the door.
“Oh, well, actually, I had to go visit this restaurant my friend works at,” he says, stuttering a little. “And he actually made extra chicken, so I thought -- well, and I knew you lived close by, so I thought it would be fun if we...I don’t know, got to know each other before the wedding?” He shrugs cutely.
“You can just say you wanted to see my cat,” you tease, pressing the elevator button.
“I did, on the phone,” he reminds you.
“Oh,” you say.
“Oh,” he replies.
The two of you stare at each other for a minute.
Then, Soonyoung says, “Why are we so awkward?”
He doesn’t sound worried -- he even has a laugh in his voice. And for some reason, the easiness with which he addresses the strange tension in the air seems to dissipate it a bit.
“I’m sorry,” you say with a laugh. “I’m not very good with surprises. I never know how to react. But I’m very glad you’re here.” Finally, the sincerity of the words shines through, and though you normally would’ve been embarrassed at the admission, you aren’t.
He smiles that brilliant smile yet again, and your heart does a little happy-dance in your chest. “Me too,” he replies fervently.
“What do you do for work?” you ask him as the two of you board the elevator. “I never asked, before.”
“Oh, that. I’m actually a kindergarten teacher,” he tells you.
You are gobsmacked at this information. “You don’t look like a teacher,” you tell him.
“Oh yeah? What do I look like?” he asks, striking a ridiculous pose.
You giggle. “A rockstar, maybe. Or a band manager.”
“Thank you, I think,” Soonyoung says.
“You’re welcome,” you say with emphasis. “It was a compliment.”
The two of you chat aimlessly all the way into your apartment, where Soonyoung immediately starts calling for Tiger. “Your daddy’s home,” he bellows into the empty apartment. “Where are you, son?”
You absolutely know the neighbors must have heard him, but your brief embarrassment is soothed when Tiger comes tearing around the corner, coming to a screeching halt at Soonyoung’s feet. “He never does that,” you say, in awe of this overt affection from your normally skittish-around-strangers cat.
“He knows who I am,” Soonyoung says, bending down to pick up Tiger and cradle him in his arms like a baby. “My son,” he coos, tickling his belly and laughing when Tiger bats at his fingers with his paws.
You catch yourself before Soonyoung can tear his attention away from Tiger, knowing you were probably staring at them with heart-eyes. Shaking yourself, you open the box of chicken Soonyoung left on the counter. “Do you mind? I actually haven’t eaten today.”
Soonyoung’s gaze snaps to you. “It’s like four in the afternoon!” he exclaims indignantly. “What do you mean, you haven’t eaten today?”
“Well, I woke up kind of late, and then I was running around doing important errands, and then I had to go see my friend,” you explain. “I kind of forgot.”
He tsks in annoyance. “Well, you need to take care of yourself too. How am I supposed to co-parent this cat with you if you pass away from malnutrition?”
“You are so dramatic,” you laugh. “This doesn’t happen very often. I promise I’m a regular eater.”
He eyes you suspiciously. “Okay. You’d better be.”
You dig into the chicken while you watch Soonyoung play with Tiger. “Holy cow!” you exclaim. “This is amazing.”
“I’ll tell my friend you said so. You should go to his restaurant, it’s right across the street from you.”
“I definitely will,” you say, taking a seat at the table and patting the chair next to you. “But I think it’s time for your interview.”
“Interview?” he asks.
You nod. “I’m not about to just let the first cat-loving man I come across be Tiger’s father. I need to see if you’re prepared for the role.”
So Soonyoung, giving you a cautious look, comes to sit beside you with Tiger trotting after him. “Okay, what do you want to know?”
“What’s your favorite color?” you ask him.
“That’s hardly a standard interview question,” he protests, laughing.
“This is hardly a standard interview,” you shoot back. “Now tell me.”
He thinks for a minute. “Black and white.”
“Hmm, interesting,” you muse, but before you can go any further, he raises a hand.
“How about you?” he asks.
“I’m asking the questions!” you say indignantly, and he chuckles.
“Okay, but shouldn’t I know my son’s mother?” He makes a face. “That sounded weird. You know what I meant.”
You stare at him, considering, for awhile before answering. “Orange,” you finally reply. Then, in a teasing tone, you add, “Like a tiger.”
“You’re joking,” Soonyoung insists, his eyebrows raised and his eyes wide.
“I’m actually not,” you admit. “And can I confess something else: tigers are easily in my top five favorite animals.”
“Well, anything lower than number one is just bad taste,” Soonyoung claims, grinning.
“Ah, well, I guess we can’t all have entirely correct opinions,” you sigh. “Except you, of course.”
“You’re such a fast learner,” Soonyoung praises.
And on the conversation goes. Usually, when talking to someone as pretty as Soonyoung is, you find yourself tongue-tied and awkward, but talking with Soonyoung is as easy as breathing. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the man seems to have no idea how gorgeous he is -- he doesn’t take himself too seriously, and is incredibly silly in a way most men of his level of attractiveness aren’t willing to be. And he makes you feel smart and interesting, appearing just as fascinated by your answers as you are with his.
Over the course of your conversation, you learn that Soonyoung is close with his mother; he loves all animals; he befriends strangers on public transportation and is a caring and loyal friend to so many people he can hardly keep track of them all. He can’t drink very well, he gets sad late at night, and when you ask him what he’s most proud of, he tells you that he always knows who the killer is in a game of mafia.
Try as you might to discover any red flags that would disqualify Soonyoung as the perfect father for your cat, your interview proves quite the opposite. The less-than-rational wing of your mind-palace is already picking out your wedding colors for the inevitable moment you marry this man. The less feral part of your mind is, surprisingly, cautiously optimistic. For all your reservations about dating, Soonyoung has proven someone you very much enjoy getting to know.
After several hours, the two of you arrive at the first lull in the conversation, when your laughs fade out and you just look at each other, electricity charging the air. Soonyoung breaks the silence. “So, did I get the job?”
You pretend to deliberate for a single second. “Absolutely,” you say, holding out your hand for him to shake.
He throws his arms around you instead. “We’re actually married now, and married people hug,” he explains.
You giggle nervously, despite the growing heat in your face. “I don’t remember you proposing today,” you scold him lightly, still hugging.
“The one from last night is still valid,” he says, breaking apart. “Honey,” he adds as an afterthought.
Just then, your phone rings. You answer it quickly, rushing to your bedroom to take the call. After a few minutes, you return to the kitchen apologetically. “It’s work,” you tell Soonyoung. “A situation came up with a client.”
“Do you need to leave now?” Soonyoung asks, jumping up. “Can I give you a ride?”
You shake your head. “It’s actually an hour drive and I’m not supposed to bring people who aren’t privy to the case. But — well, Tiger usually gets fed around 8 pm, and I don’t think I’ll be back by then. Would you be okay to do that? If not it’s totally fine, I can call my sister-in-law to do it.”
Soonyoung beams. “Of course. Can I wait for you to get home?”
You blink. “Soonyoung, it’ll be at least four hours from now. Probably more. We’re talking past midnight.”
“No school tomorrow,” Soonyoung reminds you, shrugging. “Plus, a group of friends invited me out to drink tonight, and I didn’t really want to go. Now I’ve got an excuse.”
You breathe a sigh of relief. “You are genuinely the best,” you say, going to him and wrapping him up in your arms. “Thanks.”
He seems taken aback by your sudden hug, but responds all the same. “Be safe on your way to work,” he says softly in your ear, raising goosebumps on the back of your neck, and you steal one final look at him before leaving.
******
By the time you get home, it’s nearly one in the morning. As you slump tiredly against the steering wheel of your car before going in, you check your phone and find several missed calls from Ginger. It is only then you remember she was scheduled to come home today, and more than likely did — to Soonyoung.
You race up to your apartment and open the door. Sure enough, curled up on the couch with Tiger is Soonyoung. He’s fast asleep, his cheek squished against the firm cushion, Tiger keeping vigil at his stomach. Tiger meows reproachfully as you come in, taking quiet steps to Ginger’s room. She’s resting with her back against the headboard, but she opens her eyes at the sound of her door.
“So, I came home to a man in my house,” she says expectantly. “That was crazy.”
“Yeah. We had a runaway situation that I had to figure out, and Soonyoung stayed to feed Tiger and make sure I got home okay,” you explain softly, not wanting to wake Soonyoung.
“I’m so glad he’s not a serial killer,” Ginger whispers. “He was very attentive. Kept checking on me and asking if I needed anything.”
“He did?” you ask, your heart in your throat.
“He seems like a tender little guy,” Ginger says, watching you carefully.
“He does,” is your simple reply. You can’t trust yourself to speak without crying.
******
Soonyoung ended up accidentally sleeping over that night. In the morning, the three of you — Soonyoung, Ginger, and yourself — spent a fractionally awkward but mostly pleasant morning breakfasting together before Soonyoung insisted it was time for him to shower. After that day, he dropped by frequently.
Sometimes he would stay for just twenty minutes, dropping off a book or visiting Tiger. Occasionally he’d bring by an ingredient for a dinner you were making, and you made it a habit to invite him to join on those occasions. The easy conversation between the two of you became an easy friendship, bursting with silliness and laughter and acceptance of each other’s quirks. You felt more and more like your real self around him. Which was crazy, especially given how thoroughly and extremely smitten with him you are.
It had taken you less than a week to realize your feelings. You’d expected to start feeling uncomfortable around Soonyoung, but for some reason, he just made it so clear that he cared about you that you didn’t even worry about if he liked you or not.
You reflect on this as you drive to your friend’s house to get ready before the wedding. You’re nervous about how this whole day will go, but the promise of seeing Soonyoung later makes it all worth it. In fact, just the thought of him being with you seems to calm your nerves and make it easier to face the day.
You mostly keep to yourself with the bustle of getting ready. The soft pink dresses the bride picked as your bridesmaids’ dresses are not your normal style or color, but you like how the sleek satin fabric looks on you. It pairs well with your minimal hairstyle and makeup. Before you know it, it’s time for you to go get Soonyoung.
When he opens the door, his face breaks into a huge smile. “You look beautiful!” he exclaims, covering his mouth with both hands.
“You look so handsome!” you reply, looking him up and down. He looks amazing in his black suit, white shirt, and black tie.
“You’re not supposed to outshine the bride,” Soonyoung says sternly. “I don’t think they’ll let us in.”
“Stop it,” you say, flustered.
“I’m serious,” Soonyoung insists.
“Well, if they don’t let us in, I think I’d prefer that,” you say honestly.
“I’m actually excited,” Soonyoung admits. “I think it’ll be fun.”
“Even though my friends are...”
“Kind of awful? Yeah, I’m not worried about it.”
“Why?” you ask.
“Because I’m not planning on paying them any attention at all,” Soonyoung says simply, his eyes fixed on you. And as he helps you into the driver’s seat, you can’t help but smile.
The wedding is a lavish affair. After the complicated wedding ceremony, where you stood at the farthest distance from the bride and had a hard time tearing your eyes away from Soonyoung, who stared at you the whole time, he whisks you away to your dinner table.
“Did you enjoy the ceremony?” you ask as Soonyoung pulls out your chair for you to sit down.
“It was quite a view,” he teases lightly as he sits beside you.
You know what he really meant, and you give him a shy half-smile before replying, “It sure is beautiful out here!” You gesture around at the venue, which is gorgeous — a beautiful private property with loads of land, and a gazebo on the banks of a large pond, where the ceremony took place.
Soonyoung scoffs. “Well, yeah, but you seem determined to miss my point.” Nonchalantly, he slips a hand onto your knee, and you have to remind yourself to breathe. “I’m flirting with you.”
“Oh, are you?” you ask, feigning surprise. “I hadn’t noticed.” But in reality, it’s impossible to stop yourself from beaming.
“Well, we are married,” Soonyoung says, his hand sliding across your knee to find your hand. He tangles his fingers with yours. “I think it comes with the territory.”
“If you say that too loud, you’re going to make people think it’s true,” you joke.
“Let them think that,” he says, his eyes trained on you in a way that makes butterflies erupt in your stomach. You squeeze his hand and look away, slightly panicked.
Your eyes land below the table. “I like your shoes,” you blurt.
Soonyoung looks down at his plain black loafers. “These are like, my least interesting pair of shoes,” he points out with a sly grin.
“Well, you’re an interesting man,” you say, trying to recover but feeling flustered all the same. “What are your most interesting pair of shoes?”
“I’ll give you one guess.”
“The only thing I can count on is that they’re tiger-related,” you reply, grateful for this subject shift.
Soonyoung nods. “Calvin and Hobbes Air Force Ones,” he confirms proudly. “I should’ve worn them.”
“You would have made the bride angry.”
“That makes me want to wear them even more,” Soonyoung grumbles.
“What’s your beef with my friends?” you ask him lightly, absently trailing one of your hands over his arm.
He leans in to almost-whisper the answer. “They left you vulnerable when they should have been taking care of you, and that bothers me.”
You’re taken aback by how serious the usually silly Soonyoung sounds, but before you have a chance to respond, the music starts, heralding the arrival of the new Mr. And Mrs. You take the moment of cheering and applause to breathe deeply and steady your trembling hands. This is Soonyoung, you remind yourself. You don’t need to be nervous around him.
You’ve sufficiently pulled yourself together by the time you have Soonyoung’s attention again. “So, what will you do after the wedding is over?” you ask him, trying to keep the new, flirty side of him locked away.
“That’s an amazing question that I actually was going to ask you. Do you wanna watch a movie?” he asks.
“Well, my place is empty tonight, so that sounds kind of fun,” you admit, not sure you fully succeeded at not flirting.
“Perfect,” he says. “So, what are you in the mood for? Action? Horror? Romcom?”
“How about…a wholesome sports movie? Those are my favorite genre of movies.”
“Really?” he asks with interest. “This surprises me about you.”
The conversation settles into its normal easy rhythm — all through dinner, you talk and laugh and enjoy each other’s company. When the dancing starts, you allow Soonyoung to pull you into his arms on the dance floor, following his lead in a smooth trot-step. “You’re a good dancer,” you observe.
“I teach kid’s dance classes on the side,” he admits. “It’s my night job.”
“Ah, and here I was, thinking you probably did pole-dancing after hours,” you tease.
“I know you’re not serious, but I am actually extremely flattered you’d assume that,” Soonyoung says. “Pole dancers are strong.”
“So are you,” you point out.
“How do you know?” he asks.
You swallow hard. “Uh, you — your arms,” you stutter. “They're…really nice.”
Soonyoung (unconsciously?) flexes his bicep under your hand, and your knees nearly buckle. It’s almost pathetic how affected you are by him, especially given that he hasn’t even made a move yet, and you cringe inwardly at yourself.
“Are you okay? You look uncomfortable,” Soonyoung asks.
“Oh, uh, yeah. I’m fine?” you reassure, but in the least convincing voice ever.
“Do you need some water?” he asks, concerned.
“Yes, that’d be amazing,” you say, shooing him away and fanning at yourself, your mind full of useless chiding for being so embarrassingly whipped.
A tap on your shoulder startles you from your thoughts. “Hi,” says a familiar voice — and your stomach drops.
It’s your ex boyfriend, the one you’d asked your friend not to invite but to no avail. “Hi,” you say shortly.
“You look great,” he says, to no reply from you. “The color suits you.”
“Is there something you want?” you ask him, trying to make it clear you don’t want to talk with him about anything.
“Just trying to catch up on what’s happened since, well, you know—“
“Since I caught you cheating?” you finish. “Yeah, life’s been really great since then. Thanks for the trust issues.”
He gives a sheepish little grin. “Yeah, sorry about that,” he says, like he’s a call center employee placating an angry customer. “I got promoted at work.”
You could punch him. You would, if you weren’t at a wedding. Luckily all murderous intent is redirected by a very timely Soonyoung, who arrives on the scene with a confident, “hey, baby!” and a hand outstretched with a glass of water.
“Oh, you came with someone?” your ex says. He sizes up Soonyoung, who is easily bigger than him, and shrugs. “Bad luck. Maybe next time.”
“I was this close to ruining this wedding,” you confess as Soonyoung wraps a protective arm around your waist, watching your ex saunter away. “He started talking about his promotion.”
“Didn’t he cheat on you?” Soonyoung asks, watching him with narrowed eyes.
“Yeah,” you confirm, scowling.
“Well, drink your water, and then we can dance again. You’ll forget all about him.”
This turns out to be true. Dancing with Soonyoung is so much fun -- he seems unusually good at it, and leads you very well, but also doesn’t take things too seriously, letting you spin him or even pretending to do a dip in which he almost falls over. The whole thing is just so ridiculous that you find yourself giggling through it, needing to pause and take a break. Soonyoung suggests that the two of you take a walk down to the lake, and you readily agree.
He holds your hand during the walk, and you can feel yourself trying to explain away his behavior -- he’s probably just trying to scare off your ex, or any of the other bridesmaids who’ve been making eyes at him all evening (which you’ve been pretending not to notice or care, but which you most definitely have noticed and are not happy about). Or maybe he just wants some affection. Or maybe it’s something else. It certainly can’t be the simplest explanation -- that Soonyoung likes you in the same way you like him.
The banks of the water are muddy and slick, and you and Soonyoung have to cling to each other for balance, but you’re still giggling like children as you kick off your shoes and let your toes sink into the murky shallows of the pond. “It’s freezing,” you say, hopping out almost immediately and colliding with Soonyoung, who automatically throws his arms out to steady you. Your laughter fades as you look into his eyes, which are wide and uncharacteristically shy and nervous. He swallows. Hard.
“Uh....” he says, stammering. “You’re -- you’re beautiful.”
“Thank you,” you say in a tense whisper.
“I think I -- I think I like you,” Soonyoung whispers back.
“You think?” you ask, smiling a little.
“No, that was ridiculous,” he corrects. “Uh, I like you. For suresies. For realsies.”
“For suresies and for realsies?” you say with wide eyes, and he cringes.
“Throw me a bone, please,” he whines. “I’m nervous.”
And he is. You can tell that this normally confident boy is all but in pieces after making his confession. So you untangle yourself from Soonyoung’s grasp and turn to face him, wrapping your arms around his neck and looking at him. “So am I,” you admit.
And at this, Soonyoung beams. If you didn’t know better, you’d think that a smile that lights up a room was a bit of metaphorical nonsense that didn’t truly apply to anyone, but seeing this now, you figure that was an understatement in Soonyoung’s case. This kind of smile from him was enough to support intelligent light on several planets. And you? Just like a moon, you know you’ll be rotating around him your whole life, just reflecting that light. It is impossible to fully describe the way it warms you from the inside out.
You’re so distracted by Soonyoung himself that you don’t notice how he’s leaned in close until his lips brush yours. And, in fact, this move surprises you so much that you jump, startled, which sends you sliding into the mud, dirtying up your pale pink dress and causing an angry honk to emanate from the reeds where you land. Before you know it, a goose is hissing in your ear, and you shriek with terror as you scramble to your feet, running with all your might from the furious bird, who emerges from its marshy home to chase you up the hill toward the wedding party.
You never thought you’d need to answer the question, “Could I beat a goose in a fight?” And now, here you are, with a very clear answer indeed: absolutely not. The goose is fast, using a combination of an aggressive waddle, short bursts of low flight, and what is more than likely a higher-than-average dose of unfettered bloodlust to stay right on your heels all the way onto the dance floor, where wedding guests dive out of the way in cartoonish confusion. You don’t have time to think about how ridiculous you must look, covered in mud, running from a murderous goose, before Soonyoung firmly plants himself in front of the rampaging animal.
And inexplicably, it stops, looking up at Soonyoung with its unsettlingly blue eyes. He stands with his hands on his hips and glares down at the goose. “You interrupted what was supposed to be a very romantic moment for me,” he scolds. “Now shoo!”
And you watch, dumbfounded, as the goose gives a plaintive squawk before toddling back to its pond. “How did you do that?” you gasp.
It is only then that you realize the entire wedding is staring at you. And for good reason -- the bride and groom are about to cut the cake. The terror of being chased by Satan’s personal fowl pales in comparison to the sight of the bride. Her eyes are even more murderous than the bird’s had been -- and she’s holding a cake knife to boot.
So, before any other awful things can happen, you grab Soonyoung’s hand and run. Out of the wedding area, off the farm, onto the dirt road where you parked your car, realizing too late you left your shoes by the pond and not daring to face the wedding party or the goose to retrieve them. By the time you arrive at your car, you’re laughing so hard you’re crying. Soonyoung, though bewildered, joins in, and the two of you double over, struggling to breathe with the absurdity of it all.
When you’ve both been reduced to gasps for air, Soonyoung turns to you, leaning back against your passenger side door for support. “Is every day of your life like this?” he asks through deep breaths.
“Why?” you ask, your face falling. “Are you getting tired of rescuing me?”
He chuckles. Unexpectedly, he pulls you toward him by the waist, seemingly unbothered by the mud. “Not at all,” he says, pulling a stray clump of weeds from your hair. “I’d rescue you every day if you asked. I just need to know how much prep work I need to be doing. I mean, do I need to start a new workout routine? Do I need to learn karate geared toward beating up ducks?”
“That was a goose,” you correct. Then you register what he said. “You’d rescue me every day?”
He suddenly looks nervous again. “If you want,” he offers, pushing a lock of your hair behind your ear.
But your answering smile is enough to tell him that’s exactly what you want. With a mite more confidence, he grips your chin between his forefinger and thumb and pulls your lips to his.
This kiss is much more substantial than the last. Soonyoung’s arms wrap around you, his hands resting on the small of your back, locking you into his grasp and making it difficult for you to pull away -- as if you would, because his kisses are sweeter than summer strawberries. As the warm winds begin to pick up speed, as your hair whips around you and your muddy dress is blown every which way, your heart seems to crystalize into calmness. Kissing Soonyoung feels like putting the last piece into a puzzle, like coming inside from a cold rain to a warm fire, like watching bees flit from flower to flower in a late spring sunset. It feels perfect. It feels right.
You could go on kissing Soonyoung forever, until the two of you became statues locked in an embrace, but eventually you do pull away. Soonyoung laughs at the deep, shaky breath you take, and so do you, bringing a hand to touch his pink cheek in wonder. “You’re so beautiful,” you tell him.
“Not as much as you,” he replies warmly.
Then a thought strikes you. “Also, when were you going to tell me you have mind control over geese?”
He shrugs. “It wasn’t mind control. It was the eye of the tiger.” He brings his hand up in an imitation of a paw print, and you narrow your eyes at him.
“Okay. If you’re a Disney Princess, you can just say that.”
“Okay. I’m a Disney Princess,” Soonyoung agrees. “Does that make you happy?”
“Only if I get to be the Disney Prince,” you mumble, nestling into his arms and resting your head on his shoulder.
“Deal,” he replies. You can hear the smile in his voice as he does.

Tim and Bernard's relationship feels so bland sometimes and it's like... for no reason. Because the writers acknowledge they were old friends in high school. But don't discuss those shared memories.
Bernard was the very first person to greet Tim who had just transferred high schools in his Junior year. Assessed him and immediately declared them friends bringing him into his own friend group. Like surely there could be a story beat about how much that meant to Tim even if he said nothing at the time.
What about Tim and Bernard meeting under the tree with their other friends while Bernard shoots out conspiracy theories. Maybe they could find a new tree to meet under.
Tim and Bernard don't reminisce about how good Jack and Dana were to them both. Making Jack retroactively homophobic but we know Jack really liked Bernard. Bernard had such a crush on Dana maybe she was the one who taught him how to cook.
What about a debate between Tim and Bernard if their mutual crush on Darla Aquista was them ignoring a crush on each other or if it was real feelings for her. Someone they did both care about. Where is the hard discussion of the school shooting and the loss of Darla. Where is Bernard admitting he knows something... in Tim's world happened to Darla because she's the one who broke his car while looking for Tim.
And Bernard is so washed out to be the perfectly nice boyfriend. His reintroduction was awesome. That post about his character design "I want to look at Bernard think he'd never join a cult and be wrong" yes exactly. But he did join a cult. And Tim did joyfully tell Steph that Bernard threatened to sell his organs to pirates before declaring he thinks he's going to end up liking Bernard. So where is the banter. Where is Bernard saying incredibly offputting things and Tim giggling and kicking his feet about it.

y’all im sorry i cant sleep rn bc the thought of this jooyeon x preppy reader 🫣
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
cw: smoking, mentions of making out, mentions of car sex, and me writing this w my eyelids half open 😻
college!au where jooyeon hangs around the goths and you hang around the rich preppies.
naturally, you’d be attracted to the guys with clean cuts, polos, and the ones that are good at golf. the ones who have the perfect smile and the ones that are always ready to marry.
you wished everything had happened naturally, where you’d be attracted to the guys with clean cuts, polos, and the ones that are good at golf. the ones who have the perfect smile and the ones that are always ready to marry.
but before you stands jooyeon, leaning against the wall of the secluded area that he just found out about now that you told him about it, the cigarette between his fingers intoxicating the air around the both of you. though you’re outside, the air feels stuffy and thick, especially since you just confessed your feelings for him.
he lets it linger, smiling as the three worded phrase replays through his head. you’re unable to look at him, only looking at your fresh shoes that you had bought earlier in the week just for this moment.
“you like me, ay?” he repeats, almost as if he’s mocking you. you’re hesitant to nod you head, a ton of bricks hitting you when you hear jooyeon snicker. “why did you bring me all the way over here just to say that?”
“i just…well…” your mind scrambles for an excuse other than not wanting to be seen by your group of friends that didn’t even know about your little crush. jooyeon taps his foot impatiently, raising an eyebrow along with the cigarette to his black stained lips, puffing in the smoke and blowing it towards your direction. you fan away the smoke, coughing once it hits your nostrils.
you hear jooyeon snort out half of another laugh. “i have rehearsals in a little bit. we could talk about this in my car later yeah?”
naively, you agree to meet him in his car. he hands you a note telling you which car and the lot he’s parked in, along with the message of don’t keep me waiting.
you watch him step on the cigarette and walk off.
you look around before opening the door to jooyeons car, settling in the passenger seat. you try to hide your grimace, the leather of his car seats a little bit torn off and ruined.
“excuse the mess, didn’t expect some preppy to be in my car at this time.” he leans back in his seat, looking over at you. you don’t even notice his sarcasm, way too scared to get comfortable. “so why do you like me again? i thought you had a boyfriend?”
“no i don’t. i just have some close guy friends. you’re just different.”
“different? how so?”
“i’ve just never seen anybody like you before. you sing really well, you play bass really well, your hair is awesome…” jooyeon lets you go on about everything you like about him, nodding his head, his smile growing wider with each praise.
at first he thought you were joking, only trying to hook up with him. he was prepared for the story he had for his friends about how he fucked one of the preppies. but the more you go on, the more jooyeon realizes how cute you were behind that polo and white skirt of yours. he didn’t wanna let you go just yet.
he notices you only looking down at his glovebox, shifting so that he’s sitting up. your mouth zips shut as if it’s on cue, turning your head to look out the window. jooyeon was having none of it, placing his hand on your shoulder to turn you towards him.
“cmon, you say you like me but you’re acting as if you’re scared of me.”
“im not i just…” you trail off, jooyeons hand moving to hold your chin. he strokes it, holding eye contact with you for what felt like an eternity. “i just recall liking you and-“
“do you wanna kiss me?”
you’re nearly choking on your spit at the question. you’re unable to answer, nodding your head and looking from his eyes to his black stained lips. he shakes his head.
“i didn’t hear you.” he spits sternly
you gulp, the faint yes that leaves your lips almost couldn’t be heard. jooyeon lets it slide, a satisfied smile etching onto his lips. he slowly pulls your face towards his, tilting his head.
“don’t worry angel, i don’t bite.” he whispers against your readied lips. “yet.”
YEAHHHH and after your first car encounter with jooyeon, you started meeting him in his car almost everyday after your classes had ended. you two didn’t tie the knot immediately after, but after one too many conversations that led to makeout sessions, you two were officially dating.
gotta mention as well he waited until you were fully ready to show him your body :,(. he confidently calls you beautiful before letting you bounce on his dick in the backseats of his car in the empty school parking lot. his painted fingernails left prints all over your ass, the black lipstick that adorned his lips also leaving marks wherever they touched, even getting on your shirt. afterwards, he’d cover you with his striped sweater and cuddles close to your tired body for however long you wanted, kissing you every now and then on the crown of your head.
your friends aren’t even mad that you’re dating jooyeon and neither were his friends. even though you two are completely opposite, you two fit together perfectly.

masterlist
Tumblr media
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since you were a teenage, you had been the innocent friend in your friend group. If there had been a sexual joke, you didn't understand it at first, or you needed someone to explain it.
And ever since you were a little girl, you had been naive. For example, you forgave your ex even after he had cheated on you because you thought that he had changed. Which he had not.
And this continued on until now. Being a grown 25-year-old woman with a 27-year-old boyfriend. Your boyfriend could not understand how you could be so innocent and naive.
But pierre gasly also loved it. He could protect you from any danger and feel like the hero. He was obsessed with protecting you. Well, he was obsessed with you. Possessive even.
Not the good obsessing, the possessive one. He was trying to keep your attention on him, but it will get priority if he felt like his grasp over your interests was slipping too far. As long as you were still interested in him.
But if he started to feel threatened, like, replaced, then he got a lot more… aggressive isn’t the right word. Possessive. He made sure that he does not leave your mind for too long. He makes sure he’s just… there.
Your friends saw that behavior and told you multiple times, but you ignored them, too in love with pierre. He had always told you that they were bad people who wanted to take you away from him. And you believed him. Every time.
Every time you believed him and lost more friends. Every and each time. Pierre made you feel so loved that you didn't even realize how many good people left you.
He had protected you in clubs, against family and friends, against every bad person. And that made you feel so loved. When you were with him, you were another person.
For example, one day you came home from one of your meeting with your friends. Pierre was standing in the kitchen, as you came into the house, pouting and being in your thoughts.
Pierre noticed the second you came in that you were not okay. So he took you into his arms and then sat down on a chair with you in his lap. Stroking your arms and assuring you that he was there for you.
“What's wrong, mon amour?”
“My friends told me that I should break up with you because you are possessive with me and that I should just find another man. And I just said that I love you and that you are just protecting me.”
As he heard those words, his jaw tightened and locked. The fact that you were still staying with him, made him smile. He had you wrapped around his fingers. You were his girlfriend! His.
“Look, baby, I told you that they would want to steal you away from me. You need to distance yourself from them, they are bad for you. The only person that you need is me, you know that, right?”
“I know, pierre, I can't understand how I could believe them over you.”
“You're mine. Yes? There will never be another man besides me.” He asked, biting your neck, making you squirm and whine as Pierre pulls away, licking the bite mark.
“Yes, I'm yours.” You assured him, hands tangling in his curly hair as he hugged you tighter to him and kissing up your collarbone and neck up to your ear and cheek until he kissed your lips.
Another time was when you were with your friends, talking about your boyfriends until one of your friends warned you about pierre and you being annoyed.
“How can you be so naive!? Pierre may love you, but he only wants you for himself until you have no one else than him. He is obsessed with you, in another way than good.”
Your other friends agreed, but you just rolled your eyes. What they said was total bullshit. Pierre loved and protected you from bad people who wanted to bad things to you.
The other time was that pierre couldn't reach you and panicked.
“Y/n?” He called into your shared house, and when he didn't receive a reply, he bolted into your bedroom. He froze seeing you on the bed holding a coffee mug.
“Ma magnifique fille. Why didn't you answer my calls?” He snapped loudly, caught your attention as you smiled up at him, while taking a sip from your coffee mug. My gorgeous girl
“I'm sorry, Pierre, I was listening to some music. Didn't even hear your calls.” Pierre ran his hand through his hair and sat next to you on the bed. He was settled after he yanked you into his lap.
“You should answer me when I call for you, princess.” You just nodded and leaned back into his chest, relaxed into his warm hands running over your body.
“Why are you being so protective?” Pierre's hands stopped abrupt, trying to think of how to answer your question. Leaning forward, he kissed the back of your neck, wrapped around the front and turned you to look at him.
“You're mine. My girlfriend. I'm protective of what belongs to me. I'm protective because the thought of someone taking you or leaving me drives me crazy. All I do is for you. For your safety.” He whispered each sentence, he moved closer till you were mouth-to-mouth.
“Are you mine?”
“Mhm.” You whined, grounded your hips down to get some pressure, but you got none.
“Words, Y/n. I want to hear you say it.” Pierre growled, hand tightening on your throat.
“I'm yours, Pierre. I'll always be yours.” You gasp, feeling dizzy from the grip on your throat. Pierre was always careful when it came to holding your throat and where. He never wanted to hurt you and learned how to do this safely and how to give you pleasure from it.
So to say this, pierre is very possessive of you and obsessed with you.

Why Couldnt It Have Been Me
Pt 2
pairing: Peter Parker x Reader, Peter Parker x MJ (a bit), Ned x reader (platonic), Loki x reader
Warnings: unrequited love, heartbreak, Peter being oblivious, Reader being a bad boyfriend
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Walking into school the first thing you noticed was how loud it was. The hall were lined with students who were heading to class, or at their lockers and some where even finding places to hide so they could ditch class.
You would be ditching class if this wasnt the only class you had with your boyfriend. after pushing through people and avoiding them you finally made it into your science class. Shutting the door you let out a sigh while closing your eyes.
When you heard the bell ring you instantly walked to a seat and pulled out everything you would need for this class. Once everyone was ready the professor started explaining things and eventually said that everyone should get into groups of two.
You looked over to your boyfriend, who then looked at MJ. Noticing them two instantly look at each other you felt a small pain in your chest. He has told you time and time again they are nothing but friends. They knew each other in high school and have recently started hanging out again. Nothing else too it. You knew it was stupid to feel this way about it so you never brought it up to him again.
Ned must have noticed because he walked up to you and placed his hand on your shoulder before taking the seat next to you. "we can partner up."
You smiled and nodded. Ned had been your friend for many years now. He was Peters best friend and you two met from you hanging around him a lot. Over the years though you two had become closer, dare you even say that he was your best friend.
You two began to work but you couldnt help after a while that your attention began to drift over to Peter and MJ. They were laughing about something, He was probably showing her his web fluid that he kept in that desk since when the teacher wasnt looking he would work on it. Just like he showed you a few years ago.
----
You and Peter were sitting close together talking about him being spiderman when you asked. "so Spiderboy, How do you not run out of webs?"
Rolling his eyes with a smirk he opened up the drawer revealing all his things causing you to cover your mouth with your hand and nodding. "This is how I lean and make sure my web fluid is good. Its taken a lot of tries but I've finally managed to get it right"
"that's awesome Peter. Maybe you can take me around the town someday" He holds your hand and squeezes it softly "I would like to do that sometime"
----
Ned brings you back to the present by tapping your shoulder "hellooo earth to y/n"
Turning your head to look at him you notice the look he gives you. Ned looks over at the two of them and shakes his head. "They sure act as if they are more than friends" he says quietly.
Nodding you look at your project "yeah. I cant imagine what it feels like for you. You are his best friend, It seems he never hangs out with you anymore" he shrugs "he doesn't but it doesn't hurt as much as it did in the beginning, Plus I think I might have found a new best friend"
You look at each other and smile "I feel the same way. Would you like to meet up after this class so we could make sure the project is finished?"
"yes of course!"
-----
The walk home was uneventful, usually your boyfriend would have walked you home but today and the past few days that hasn't been the case.
Finally arriving to your home you barely have your hand on the doorknob when your phone rings. Groaning you grab it from your back pocket and answer it "hello?"
"hey I'm sorry I couldn't walk you home today" the sound of your boyfriends voice came from the device. Shaking your head you fight the urge to sigh. "its alright I know you are probably busy"
There's a silence before you speak again "You are with MJ aren't you?" He doesn't respond for a moment, which causes you to scoff, "of course. I should have realized you haven't been walking me home or doing any of the things you used to do...because you are to busy doing them with her"
"y/n..me and MJ are just friends you know this. Just like you and Ned are friends" his tone held a scared tone behind it. "whatever Peter. I've got to go"
Hanging up and opening your door you throw your phone on the nearby couch and shut the door harshly. You refuse to cry about a man but the tears were beginning to form and the tight feeling in your chest was coming back.
You barely heard anyones footsteps until you felt two strong arms pull you in close and hold you. The hands that held you felt familiar so you didn't have to look to see who it was. "I've got you darling" He runs his hands through your soft brown hair as you cry on their shoulder.
When you finally have calmed down a bit, your face red from crying you look up at one of your closest friends "why cant it be me he wants....why cant anyone just want me"
He walks you to the couch and turns off your phone before using his magic to make you some tea and brings your favorite snacks. He also grabs a blanket and wraps it around your shoulders as you rest your head on his arm. "thank you Loki"
They nod and holds you close until you fall asleep. And only when they know you are asleep do they say the words you have wanted someone to tell you your whole life. "Its always been you. You have always been what I wanted"

Remus lupin would be the softest sweetest most awesome boyfriend of all times
He is the kind of boyfriend to wake you up in he morning with kisses and with whispering sweet little nothing's in your ears , making sure you wake up with a smile on your face
He would walk with you to the great hole , and while you are walking he would either talk to you about the last book he read , or one of the things that happened in the few classes that you two didn't share and visa versa.
Sometimes you would walk in silence just devouring each other's presence , both left in your own thoughts
When you'd reach your table , you'd sometimes sit besides each other and other times against.
Usually the boys would reach the table 5-10 minutes after you did , because they are always grasping a few more minutes in bed
He would make two of his infamous moony toast , sharing the one with you , while you made his coffee
You two do not depend on each other , but it's obvious to everyone that you are in sink , both working together towards the same goal
Then you would fill your plate with other goodies to eat. Sometimes when it's close to the full moon he would neglect to eat much so you'd take some food with you in a paper towel , knowing that he gets hungry
Other times you'd claim not to be hungry , so he would do he same for you
You would walk together to class talking to the boys about maybe a new prank to do , or about James progress with a mystery boy- Sirius is always curious about who it is but James is not telling him, or anyone for the fact - or Sirius would tell you about what he did to the last party he attended
You didn't sit together, rather Remus sat in front from you in classes. Mainly because you didn't want Sirius and James to sit together and also because he often claimed that he could not sit next to you because "your beauty distracts him making unable to take proper notes in class"
At lunch the boys would sit together and you with the girls (marlene lily and Mary) would usually sit together and talk about anything. A lot of times the two groups would merge and then chaos ensued in there
You would continue your classes and at the afternoon you'd hang out with him or Lily in he library since your studying styles where similar . You'd rest a little in the common room , with all your boys , but more often than not you'd end up wondering around
Usually you'd go for 30 minute walks around the castle or the school grounds
Most nights in which you went at the astrology tower you met Regulus and you'd sir there and talk.
There's times in which you went to the forbidden forest you'd usually meet Xenophilous Lovegood , and you'd talk about whatever obscure creature was circling him mind at the time.
Some times you'd meet some friendly Slytherin in the halls and you'd take some walks around the halls together in silence or not
Other you'd meet Slytherins that did not like you , but fortunately , no one really tried to hurt you (except for snivellous and his friend group) make it be because Remus lupin was scary and noone wanted to mess with his girlfriend, because you are friendly to everyone not depending on the house , or maybe even because you were one true marauder , quick at spells and hexes
Once you'd get back from your walk you'd talk a tad bit with the girls and then you'd ho with Remus at his dorm. You'd sleep together more often than not. You'd usually fall asleep listening to him read a book. Actually it wasn't the story that got you to get to sleep , but his voice. Soft and earthy. His voice felt like home to you. When you heard him whispering at you , you always felt a little bit safer
Thia took a weird turn ig?? Idk what I am doing I am just writing what feels good to me

love is complicated
summary: you express your feelings/concerns to your boyfriend and it seems like he doesn’t actually hear you out.
pairing: percy hynes white x reader
a/n: had a request from @mirukkuvanilla about doing an insecure!reader and i just ran with it lol. (i hope this was to your expectations!)
…………………………………………………………………………….
“hey baby, you want to go with me to the party?” oh great, another night of his friends looking at you like you didn’t belong. totally worth it.
you turned your head to him to meet his eyes from the couch you sat on, “um yeah sure.” percy smiles and shuffles to kiss your temple. it almost makes you feel bad for feeling this way. if he was happy, why couldn’t you continue to be happy?
“awesome, get ready! we leave in about twenty minutes.” you rested your head into your hands hearing his footsteps walk away from you. it hadn’t always been this way but somewhere along the way his friends had been giving you the cold shoulder. you had a gut feeling that it was mainly because you weren’t famous like them. maybe if you were, things would be different.
the uber drive to emma’s house wasn’t that far but still a good distance. percy was practically buzzing being that this was the first time in a while that everyone was able to be together due to scheduling. meanwhile, you felt like you were dying.
“ah percy you made it!” hunter said opening the door for you guys then his eyes gaze over to you, “and you brought y/n.” all you could mange to do was an awkward wave and a small smile. this was definitely going to be a shitty night and you could tell.
once walking fully in, everyone jumps to greet percy. you were spared only a short hello and that was it. it’s almost as if they wanted you to know that you weren’t welcomed, only tolerated for the sake of their friend. you stood by the door silently while your boyfriend was immediately dragged into conversations.
“y/n! oh my, i haven’t seen you a while. how are you?” emma squeals pulling you into a warm friendly hug. she was the only one out of the whole group that didn’t change on you.
“i’m doing okay. how are you? i seen that you’re working on a new movie.”
“yes! i’m doing well and the movie is going good. i really like the script.”
“that’s good! i’m glad you’re enjoying it and can’t wait to see it. i know you’re gonna be amazing.”
emma lays her hand on her heart in thanks for your kind words, “let’s get you a drink, yeah?”
-
a few drinks later and you felt even worse then before. you were ignored pretty much the whole night, only talked to here and there. you could feel yourself fuming by the second. standing up quietly, you walked to your boyfriend who was resting his back on the wall. you motioned him to lean down so that your lips could meet his ear to hear you better over the music.
“can we go?”
“go where?”
“home percy. i want to go home.”
“what, why?” you huffed crossing your arms and looking away from him.
“excuse us for a minute,” percy nods to the people he was talking to and grabbed your hand. he leads you to one of the spare rooms upstairs and closed the door.
“okay, what’s this about? why do you want to leave.”
“why are you questioning me?” you could tell that he was getting frustrated at this point but you couldn’t find it in you to care.
“just answer the question.”
“i’m obviously not welcomed here and your friends for some reason don’t like me anymore. i don’t want to be here where i’m not wanted,” your body felt on fire. you never brought it up for the simple fact that you didn’t want to come between him and his friends. they were there long before you were.
“c’mon that’s such a stretch baby. they like you for sure,” he places his hands on your arms in attempt to console you. pushing his hands away, you take a step back.
“percy they don’t like me. why can’t you see that? m-maybe they did before but not anymore. only emma really takes the time to talk to me.”
“you’re being delusional.”
“delusional?” you take a second to breathe before you continued, “percy open your fucking eyes!”
“explain it to me then! baby, i can’t help you if you don’t let me.”
“you don’t see how they look at me. they clearly don’t think i belong with you and i’m sure it’s because i’m not famous like you guys.” percy felt his anger raising and was offended.
“you’re being crazy,” he scuffed shaking his head.
“stop calling me crazy!”
within seconds it turned into a screaming match. one trying to out yell the other. of course, you guys had fights before but nothing ever like this.
“you’re just being insecure at this point. get over yourself!”
“so what if i am!” you eyes started to water but you refused to let him see you cry over this, “what if i am insecure, huh? for months i felt like i wasn’t good enough to date you simply because i’m not like you. months that i held in every time your friends ignored my entire existence and pretended that i wasn’t feeling shitty. months that i sat by and watched fans ship you with other famous people. months percy!”
“so this is all about being public? seriously y/n, i expected way better from you.”
“it’s not about being public idiot. it’s about not feeling enough when i try so fucking hard!”
“so what if fans ship me with other famous people. big deal.”
“percy, it’s a huge deal! as your girlfriend, i feel as if i’m not being heard.” your voice was cracking the more you went on, “you’re invaliding my feelings and don’t even realize it.” he puts his head down tired of yelling.
“if i was dating another celebrity, this stupid shit wouldn’t be happening,” percy muttered under his breath but you heard it clear as day. sticking your bottom lip between your teeth and nodding your head. the tears officially came streaming down your face and your heart felt as if it was tore out.
“well don’t let me stand in the way of that. goodbye percy,” you rush pass him in a hurry to leave. the saltiness of the tears were worse the more you walked downstairs.
“wait baby, fuck i didn’t mean it!” his feet guiding him to follow you quickly.
“if you didn’t mean it, you wouldn’t have said it. leave me the fuck alone.” you could see his friends silently watching the scene unfold. the music was turned down lower too. likely, they heard everything which was more embarrassing. you sarcastically chuckled to yourself with more tears running.
“at least i won’t bother you guys with my presence anymore. happy?” you made sure to look at the whole circle before walking out the door completely.
“sweetheart please!” the minute that percy had finally got outside, you were gone. it seemed like luck was on your side because when you ordered the uber, it came in under a minute. he sinks to the grass with the realization that you were gone. and probably for good.
“fuck fuck fuck!”
“percy?” the boy couldn’t bother to look at emma who standing near him. couldn’t bother to notice how some of his friends were standing at the doorway feeling slightly guilty.
“she’s gone. she’s gone and it’s all my fault,” the boy sobs into his hands. his body shaking with regret for hurting you. for not listening and definitely not seeing the signs that lead up to this moment.
emma lowers herself to the ground to wrap her arms around him. she had never seen her friend so broken and she was hurt for the both of you. percy continues to sob into her shoulder.
“it’s my fault. it’s my fault em.”
-
it’s been about two weeks and percy still felt empty. the love his life left and there was nobody to blame but himself. why couldn’t he see the silent signs you were showing? why couldn’t he just listen to you that night? he swears that he’ll never forget the image of your heartbroken face. he was supposed to be the one drying your tears and here he was actually causing them.
he had tried contacting you by phone number, email, different social media dms but it was radio silent. tried going to your closes friends, seeing if they’ll talk but all he got was a door slam to the face. he was desperate to talk to you and reassure you that he was just angry. but that wouldn’t help because anger is not an excuse to talk to your loved one that way.
“okay percy, i love you dearly mate but you gotta stop mopping about,” georgie calls out to his friend. the boy also felt lost seeing as he was part of the reason too.
“i can’t.”
“yes you can.”
“i ignored the way you guys were treating her. i didn’t even know and it’s too late,” percy whispered feeling as if he talked any louder more memories of that night will continue to play in his head. georgie sighed and took a seat next to him on the other beanbag close to percy.
“i’m sorry. as your best friend, i felt that i was trying to protect your heart from her. but she wouldn’t even think about hurting you like that. now that i think of it, she never once even asked to be public and that shows a lot. i’m sorry that we didn’t give her a proper chance.”
“i get it but at the same time it was my own heart to protect. you guys could’ve talked to me and i would’ve told you all how much she’s loving. how much she means to me. y/n is my everything and i let that go over anger. i didn’t want to believe her and didn’t even think about taking it into consideration.”
“you should talk to her.”
“georgie, she didn’t even answer. she’s done with me.”
“just try again, yeah? but do it in person.”
-
percy knew exactly where to find you, you were at your parents house. when you guys moved in together, he learned quickly that you’ll go to their house if both of you needed to cool down. this was the last chance he had. he drives so fast that he almost crashed but he needed his lover back. once making it to the house, he gets out and starts pacing. what if you really were done? what if you slammed the door in his face? without another beat to miss, he knocks anxiously on the door.
“hi percy, was wondering when you were going to show up. she’s in her old room,” your mom steps to the side and let’s him enter.
she grabs his forearm, “make this right. i know you too love each other. don’t forget that.” percy nods his head and continues his walk to your room. with every step he took, he felt his heart beating faster. facing the door, he knocks softly.
“come in!” this was the first time he heard your voice in two week and his eyes start watering but he held it together. he walks into the door and his immediately meets yours. you saw your happy smile drop and watched you look away.
“what are you doing here?”
“i came to apologize. really apologize.” there’s a pregnant pause thinking if you really wanted to let him speak to you. but you knew that it was only hurting the both of you, if you didn’t actually talk it out.
“okay. close the door though.” percy nods and closes the door. he then leans on it because he was afraid of coming closer. he didn’t want to invade your space and make you uncomfortable. you had seen this and patted the spot next to you on the bed. with a small smile he complies and sat down still not sitting too close just in cause.
“sweetheart i’m sorry. i’m sorry i didn’t see those signs or the way my friends were treating you. i didn’t mean what i said and your feelings are not stupid. your feelings are completely valid. i wasn’t hearing you out that night but i’m listening now.” you sighed and looked up at him fiddling with your fingers.
“perc you really hurt me. imagine my surprise when my boyfriend who i’m so in love didn’t want to hear about how insecure i was. you crushed me saying that dating another celebrity, you wouldn’t have to deal with this.” he shuffles closer and hesitantly grabs one of your hands. you interlock your fingers together missing this warm feeling you got from him.
“baby i swear i didn’t mean it. i talked out of anger and i know that’s not an excuse. god, i could never replace you. there is nobody that i want to be with more than you.”
“how do you know that?” you felt a stray tear fall onto your cheek.
“i know because i’m madly in love with you. i know because there’s never gonna be someone that cares for me the way that you do. baby you have left your mark on my heart that can’t be undone,” he takes his free hand to wipe away your tears.
“i love you too percy. i don’t know if i really can forgive you fully,” percy drops his head and bites his lower lip. it was his fault that he was going to lose you right now.
“i fully respect that. i’m sorry and i know you deserve better,” he goes to stand up but you quickly get a hold on his wrist.
you couldn’t really hold back your smile, “you didn’t let me finish silly. i was going to say i’m willing to try and forgive you but it’s going to take some time.” percy smiles with tears falling down his face as well.
“take all the time you need. i’m in it for the long run,” he wraps his arms around you and places a kiss on your forehead. you nuzzled into his chest feeling more of that warmness he radiates.
“i missed you so much love,” you squeezed him a little tighter and began to sway you both back and forth.
“i missed you more than you know honey. more than you know.”

One Man's Loss Is Another Man's Gain
Tumblr media
wc: 4k warnings: none; a little angsty, very fluffy ending; some swears; the other guy in this is a bit of a meanie bo beanie and won't leave you alone pronouns: none used; n/a summary: when a popular boy keeps begging reader for a second chance, bestfriend!taerae pretends to be their boyfriend to finally get rid of him; university au ~masterlist~ ♡ ~kofi (no pressure at all)~ Guys. Tae Rae and I have the same birthday (but a different year). I think I also have a very bright smile that is endearingly too large for my face. Must be a 7/14 birthday thing :) Kim Taerae I adore u, u perfect angel u
“Oh my god, ew!” You squeal. “Absolutely not.”
Noah rolls her eyes. “Really? He’s standing right there.”
You look to your left at your best friend Taerae, who is biting his lip quietly. “Sorry, Tae. Obviously I don’t mean that you’re gross. But you are gross to me.”
He nods. “No, yeah. I get it.”
Noah smacks your shoulder. “Come on, (Y/N). This is brilliant. You fake-date Taerae for a couple weeks and everyone stops bothering you. And then you can ‘break up’ and go right back to normal,” she urges. “Simple.”
“Taerae does not want to do that,” you reply, waiting for him to agree. The silence you’re met with is concerning. “Right, Taerae?”
Your friend is still chewing on his lip in contemplation when your eyes meet his again. “I don’t want people bothering you anymore. Especially that asshole…”
Brandon. President of the university honor society. Captain of the basketball team. Your assigned desk partner in Latin American History.
You'd sat next to him all semester, starry-eyed as you silently willed him to talk to you before finally being assigned to a project together on La Nueva Canción-- Chilean revolutionary music. Taerae had pouted for days when you were assigned the only topic relating to music.
The truth was, you didn't really care what topic you were assigned. The only thing that mattered to you was that after your topic had been assigned by your professor, Brandon turned to you for the first time all year and said, "Sounds kind of cool."
You nodded far too enthusiastically.
For a week, you met with Brandon in the library after his basketball practice to research La Nueva Canción and construct a compelling slideshow presentation for class. As far as you were concerned, spending your nights in the library was absolute bliss. Brandon smiled at you (sometimes), joked with you (twice), and even complimented you on your font choice for the presentation...
Then one night, a group of guys approached your table in the library. Brandon audibly sighed before putting on a smile to greet them. You recognized some of them as other guys on the basketball and football teams.
"You going out tonight?" One of them asked, resting his hand on Brandon's shoulder.
Brandon shook his head. "I'm tired."
Another guy rolled his eyes. "No, you're not. You just don't want to go out without Melanie."
Brandon shrugged. "I didn't say that."
"Yeah, but we all know it. Come on, man. Go ahead and get back out there. You can pull anyone you want!" The first guy insisted.
"I--..." Brandon stuttered before his head turned quickly to look at you, eyes lighting up. "I already did."
You blinked back at him wordlessly, unsure of what was going on. Brandon reached across the table, resting his large hand on top of yours.
"We're going out," Brandon announced. "Tonight."
The group of boys looked at you, seemingly having not even noticed you before Brandon's acknowledgement. Their brows furrowed confusedly, looking back and forth between each other to see if their eyes deceived them.
"But that's--," one of the guys started to say, but Brandon cut them off.
"Awesome, right? I thank you for being so supportive of me. We need to wrap up this project fast though if we want to make it to our dinner reservation on time! See you guys tomorrow," Brandon said quickly, waving at the guys until they gave up and left.
When it was just the two of you again, Brandon's head fell to his hands as he laughed in relief. He looked back up at you after a moment. "Sorry about that."
You were sure your eyes were absolutely bugging out of their sockets.
"Can I make it up to you by... buying you dinner or something?" Brandon offered with a lop-sided smile.
Your ability to suppress the scream that had built in your throat was an impressive display of restraint. "Really?"
Brandon shrugged. "Yeah, I guess. Why not?"
You nodded. "Okay."
"Wanna meet at the cafe down the street in an hour? I just want to drop my stuff off in my room and change," he suggested, picking up his bag and throwing his laptop and loose papers in.
You nodded again. "Okay."
Brandon exhaled a laugh, before making his way to the doors. "Okay."
You spent the next forty-five minutes racing back to your dorm and getting ready for your date with Brandon. Changing into something presentable, applying an ample amount of moisturizer to your face, and fixing your hair before rushing back out the door and strolling happily down the street to the cafe across from campus.
It was about 10:30 P.M. when you arrived and, once inside, you sat down at a table with cushioned chairs by the window. A waitress came to grab your order and, after a few minutes, brought you your drink.
"You look so lovely," she complimented, placing the drink down on your table. "Are you waiting for someone?"
You smiled shyly and nodded.
"Whoever it is is very lucky!" She remarked sweetly and returned to her post.
You took out your phone, scrolling mindlessly through Instagram while you waited for Brandon to arrive. You kept one eye glued to the door as the minutes passed, your heart beating so fast you considered the possibility of needing an ambulance.
But after ten minutes, twenty minutes, thirty minutes...
An hour later, you finally texted Noah.
Noah, you will NOT guess what happened... :)) Okay, I'll tell you! Brandon asked me out and now I'm waiting for him at the cafe across from campus!!
She responded quickly.
(Y/N)... Is that true? I don't know how to tell you this, but Brandon's at this party I'm at. And... I'm so sorry. I'll just show you.
You clicked on the video that Noah sent you, a bit blurry at first before zooming in on two people intensely making out. Your previously rapidly beating heart ceased all of its thumping as it sunk to the bottom of your stomach.
As they pulled apart, people around them cheered and shouted. Looking around the room with the biggest grin on his face was Brandon, his ex-girlfriend Melanie clinging to his chest.
Your eyes began to water involuntarily, wondering how you could've been so stupid. Wiping them quickly, you placed some cash on your table for the nice waitress and exited the cafe. You had been so distracted by the upsetting news that you hadn't even noticed it had started to downpour.
Mud and giant puddles lining the street, there was no chance you were making it safely back to your dorm by walking. Standing under the awning, heavy rain hitting the pavement and bouncing up to soak your clothes, you weren't sure if the water under your eyes was tears from the sky or tears from you.
Headlights bathing you in sickeningly bright light caused you to break momentarily from your crying spell. A car door opened and closed as a figure holding an umbrella made their way up to you.
"You look like a wet rat," the familiar, honey-like voice joked as he stepped under the awning with you.
"Taerae?" You wondered if your teary eyes deceived you. "How did you know I was here?"
He laughed that gorgeous baritone laugh. "You know Noah can't keep her mouth shut for anything."
You wanted to laugh, but you just couldn't. Instead, you wrapped your arms around Taerae and clung on for dear life. He was a bit surprised at first, seeing as your physical affection towards him usually manifested in the form of a punch or smack. But after a moment, his arms tightened around you, one hand gently caressing the back of your head.
"It's okay," he soothed. "It's gonna be okay. You deserve so much better than him."
You just squeezed him tighter.
"He's gonna regret treating you like this."
~
Brandon and Melanie broke up again before the clock had struck midnight.
And the next day, rumors started swirling that Brandon had stood up the Chancellor's kid at the cafe across from campus.
That was apparently when Brandon first learned that the University Chancellor was your dad.
He had shown up at your dorm, knocking on the door frantically. You opened it, shocked to see the boy you had such a devastatingly huge crush on in front of you.
"(Y/N), I'm so sorry," he said, his tone a bit frantic. "I'm so sorry that I stood you up Friday night. That was absolutely horrible of me. I was so tired, I just knocked out and--."
"And sleepwalked into a party and down Melanie's throat?"
His face fell as he realized he was caught in a lie. He sighed in defeat. "I'm sorry. I wish I could go back and change it, but I can't."
You nodded. "Okay."
"If you give me one more chance, I swear I'll make it up to you," he said, hopefully.
You couldn't lie-- your heart fluttered at his words. But after that night, crying as Taerae drove you back to your dorm, you knew you couldn't agree right away. "I'll think about it."
"Awesome!" Brandon says with a grin before lowering his voice and scratching his arm awkwardly. "I, uh... I didn't know the Chancellor was your dad."
"Oh. Yeah," you replied, brow furrowing a bit suspiciously. Why did that matter to him? Why was he bringing that up now?
"You're not gonna, like... say anything to him right? About me?"
"Why would I say something to him about you?" You asked, genuinely confused as to what his thought process was.
Brandon sighed with relief. "Oh, that's so good to hear. I want to keep playing basketball, you know?"
He laughed as you stared at him disappointedly, finally understanding why he was really here. Brandon was on a sports scholarship... and he was trying to make sure you wouldn't cause him to lose it.
"I'm not gonna snitch on you," you said, nodding as the truth sunk in. "So you didn't need to come here and pretend you were sorry."
His eyes widen, panic re-setting in. "No! Oh god, no, that's not what I was doing. I really am--."
You shut the door in his face.
And you've shut the door in his face for five days now. Every day, he'd knock on your door and beg you to go out with him and, when you refused, begged you to not tell your dad what an asshole he was.
Not to mention, you couldn't enter the student union or the dining hall without hearing people whisper around you. What had become apparent to you quickly was that Brandon wasn't going to stop any time soon and neither were the rumors flying around you.
So standing outside in the courtyard with Noah and Taerae now, you consider your best friend's sentiment.
"If it'll make him stop bothering you, I'll do it," Taerae says decisively, picking at a leaf on the tree he's leaning on.
You swallow hard. "Okay."
Noah screeches. "OH MY GOD! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU? YOU'RE REALLY GONNA DATE TAERAE!?"
You stare at her incredulously. "You literally told me to!"
She huffs. "I didn't think you'd actually do it."
"Well," you say, looking at Taerae who is still doing everything he possibly can not to meet your gaze. "I think it's probably the best plan we've got."
Taerae hums. "So, when do we start?"
"Huh?" You ask, tilting your head to the side.
"When do we start dating?" He asks, finally looking at you with an awkward, dimpled smile. "Now?"
"Oh shit," Noah says, biting her lip to keep from smiling. "I think he's asking you out."
You smack her quickly, shooting her a look before turning back to Taerae. "Yeah. I guess... now."
He nods, the brightest grin spreading across his face. "Okay, let's go!"
Grabbing your hand in his, he begins dragging you across the courtyard. "Go where!?"
"On a date," he says, looking back at you. "Duh."
"Oh," you manage to reply, trying your best to keep up with his incredibly fast pace. Taerae was normally a pretty leisurely walker and you would often have to yell at him to keep up.
"People need to see us, right? Let's go to the cafe," he suggests, slowing down a bit when you both reach the sidewalk. He squeezes your hand as you make your way to the cafe across from campus-- the cafe where you were stood up only a week ago.
You stop in your tracks, a flood of worry crashing over you. Is this a good idea? What if people know we're just pretending? What if Brandon is there?
Taerae turns around when he realizes he can't pull you forward anymore. He sees it immediately-- the look in your eyes as you ponder every possible negative outcome. Placing his hands on your shoulders, he smiles at you reassuringly.
"We've got this, right? We just have to sell it," he encourages, squeezing your shoulders a couple of times to pump you up. "You think you can pretend I'm not gross for an hour?"
You laugh, shaking your head. "You're not gross, Tae. I just..."
You look at the cafe sadly, remembering how hard you had sobbed into Taerae's chest as the rain poured down around you.
"Hey," your best friend says, taking a finger and placing it below your chin; tipping it up to keep your head held high. "There's no need to be sad. I'd never stand you up."
With that, you let Taerae drag you through the doors of the cafe and into a seat at one of the tables. Right away, you can hear the whispers begin to rumble throughout the cafe. Taerae sits down across from you comfortably, just smiling back at you as if he doesn't hear a sound. You can't help but notice he hasn't really stopped smiling ever since you agreed to this silly plan.
"Oh, hi!" The waitress that had been working Friday night greets, rushing over to you. When she stops in front of your table, she stares directly at Taerae and frowns. "Don't tell me this is the guy who stood you up."
Looking around anxiously and realizing all eyes in the restaurant are on you and Taerae, you both shake your heads furiously. "No, no," you correct. "This is... This is my--."
"Boyfriend," Taerae finishes.
Both yours and the waitress's eyes widen in surprise-- the other students in the cafe now dead silent as they strain to overhear your conversation.
"You were... going on a date with someone that wasn't your boyfriend?" She asks, suspiciously.
"I wasn't at the time," Taerae clarifies quickly, before smiling at you quite cutely. "But one man's loss is another man's gain."
The sun is shining directly on Taerae through the window of the cafe, his dark eyes sparkling as they lock on yours. His brown hair appears almost golden from the warm light as it rests across his forehead-- deep smile lines in his cheeks even more charming than usual.
You shake your head quickly to clear these thoughts from your mind, looking back up at the waitress sheepishly.
"Wow," she says, nodding. "I like him. I mean, just look at the way he's looking you."
Taerae's lips part slightly as she states her observation and he looks down for a moment at his lap, his cheeks sporting a tint of crimson. He had been putting on a pretty convincing performance so far and you wonder if it's starting to get embarrassing for him...
If he's starting to regret saying yes to this.
"It's hard not to admire someone so beautiful," Taerae says softly, looking back up at you; his bottom lip tucked between his teeth.
"Okay, you have to keep him," the waitress decides with a laugh. "Now, what are you both having?"
~
The next day, Taerae took you to dinner at the Mexican restaurant near campus that you loved. The day after that, you got ice cream and sat on the swings at the public park. And the next day, you both went to the art museum with Noah to look at the new interactive Monet exhibit (Noah was pretending to try not to gag the whole time).
Each day that week, Taerae had brought you on some little adventure with him and you weren't really complaining. You adored your best friend; spending time with him was already one of your favorite things. Actually, since the start of this semester, you hadn't seen Taerae as often as you normally would after he was elected secretary of the honor society. It made you happy to have an excuse to see him so much.
Tonight, Taerae had convinced you to see a movie with him. Some action extravaganza with no plot, but he bought you a big popcorn with extra butter and a cherry icee so you didn't mind.
"Why are we seeing this movie, though?" You asked, plopping down in the theatre seat. "There's a 45th anniversary showing of Grease literally playing in the next theatre."
"Because," Taerae starts, before shoveling a handful of popcorn into his mouth, swallowing it down with his Sprite. "Brandon and his stupid friends would never go see an anniversary showing of Grease."
"Yeah, but we would," you reply, before realizing what he had just said. "Wait, what!?"
He shrugs. "If he doesn't want people to know where he's going, he shouldn't talk about it so loudly at honor society meetings."
Just then, you hear familiar, unsettlingly male laughter sounding from the entrance of the theatre. Brandon turns the corner with his friends, eyes widening in surprise when he sees you staring back at him.
Your eye contact is broken, however, when Taerae reaches over and turns your face towards him. "Open up," he says, popping a piece of popcorn in your mouth in the most sickeningly adorable way possible. "Is it good?"
You chew, completely stunned by the affectionate action, eventually swallowing and nodding back at him slowly.
"So cute," he coos, loud enough for Brandon to hear. You watch as Brandon and his friends study you curiously-- the captain himself appearing quite angry. They soon take their seats as the trailers start, but throughout the movie you notice Brandon glaring up at you and Taerae every so often.
As the credits roll, you and Taerae grab your garbage and make your way out of the theatre. Still finishing your cherry icee, Taerae takes your free hand in his and you head off together towards the doors.
"(Y/N)!" You hear someone call behind you, turning around to see Brandon running to catch up with you.
"Oh," you say as the tall boy stops in front of you. "Hey, Brandon."
"Hey, uh..." Brandon looks at Taerae, then back at you. "I keep hearing something about you dating some guy."
Suddenly, Taerae leans in and kisses you. You momentarily forget how to breathe before he pulls back and turns to Brandon. "Huh. That's so weird."
"You--," Brandon strokes his chin, smiling and shaking his head like he's in disbelief of something. "You must think you're pretty clever, huh?"
You look at Taerae confusedly, wondering what Brandon was insinuating of your friend.
Taerae just shakes his head. "No. I think that I'm not going to let anyone treat my best friend so rudely ever again."
Brandon nods, huffing a sarcastic laugh. "Yeah. I'm sure you'd never lie about anything to get your way. Right, Kim?"
"Can you please leave me alone now?" You ask finally. "Taerae's my... boyfriend now. I'm not going to tell my dad about what happened. You're not going to lose your scholarship. Let's just present our project together tomorrow and never speak to each other again."
Brandon chews his cheek, replying annoyedly, "Fine."
With that, Taerae drags you out the door and into the open air.

It's the fourteenth and last day of your fake relationship with Taerae. He'd set up a picnic in the courtyard with your favorite sandwiches from the deli down the street and a bunch of different snacks and salads. He held out a strawberry for you, smiling as you bit into it happily.
No one is looking at you anymore. They hadn't been for some time now. You could've called this off a few days ago, but Noah had insisted with a smirk that you "play it safe".
"This hasn't been half-bad," you say, grinning at Taerae. "I got to spend two whole weeks with my very busy best friend. Everyone stopped gossiping about me. My former crush stopped... stalking me, I guess?"
Taerae laughs. "Yeah, he was definitely stalking you," he agrees before a frown forms on his face. "I'm really sorry that happened."
You shrug. "Thanks for helping to stop it."
He sighs and you're surprised by how sad it sounds. "Well, it's--... It's the least I could do... When I'm the one who started it."
Your eyebrows furrow in confusion. "What? What do you mean you started it?"
"I--... I might've been the one that let it slip to Brandon that the Chancellor was your dad," Taerae admits, hanging his head in shame. "I'm so sorry that I didn't tell you sooner. And I'm so sorry that it created such a nuisance for you-- that Brandon would bother you like that. That you'd have to pretend to date me. But he needed to feel bad for what he did... and we both know he wasn't going to unless it could mean trouble for him."
You just smile. "A bunch of people knew about my dad, Taerae. He would've found out eventually, anyway. You just... sped up the process, I guess," you forgive with a laugh. "So that's what you meant, huh? When you said he'd regret it?"
"Wow, not to sound like a vigilante or anything," Taerae snorts, shaking his head hearing his own words recounted to him. "But seriously, who could be so stupid as to get the chance to go out with you and completely waste it? I would never--."
He cuts himself off, seemingly considering whether or not he should continue.
"You would never what?" You prompt curiously.
Taerae swallows. "I would never stop going out with you," he says softly. "If I could."
You're frozen as he speaks, only waiting for him to say more.
"If you didn't think I was gross and if this wasn't just some plan to shut up the actual guy you liked..." He nods, meeting your gaze. "I would want to keep going out with you."
Your stomach flips as your best friend since childhood says these words to you. It's not a joke. It's not part of this plan you'd concocted. It's not even a dream.
"I like you," Taerae says earnestly, hugging his knees closer to his chest as the sun starts to set. "And I'm sorry if that ruins everything."
You're not immediately sure what the right thing to say is. You lean back on your hands, fingers gripping the grass as you stare up at the sky turning pink. If you thought about it, you'd spent more time with Taerae throughout your life than almost anybody else. Your introverted, intelligent, annoying-as-all-hell best friend; one of the greatest loves of your life, alongside all of your pets and your mom. A bit of an awkward kid, he had grown up quite handsomely. Was that wrong to say? How could you think that about Taerae?
But why was your heart still racing? Surely the actual anxiety of the confession had warn off by now. But the booming thud in your chest betrays you. You had dated Taerae this whole week and not even once had you actually wished it would stop. He was cute with you, always paid for your food; he never once stood you up-- he even kissed you that one time, even if it was to show off in front of Brandon. And you never hated any of it.
Moreover, you liked it.
Had you been dating Taerae for real this whole time?
Suddenly, your phone buzzes in your pocket. You pull it out, seeing a message from your dad lighting up the screen:
What is this I hear about you and Kim Taerae dating? The kid that used to run around our house with snot hanging out his nose? Is this true?
You look over at Taerae who is now mirroring you, leaning back with his hands in the grass and gazing up at the sunset beside you. When he notices you staring, he turns to you with a shy smile that causes your heart to gently flutter.
You can't help but smile back at him, bottom lip tucked between your teeth before quickly typing a reply to your dad:
Yeah. It is. :)

Heaven’s Not Close in a Place Like This
Chapter Three - Bolas try to help--
Phil could hear the yells of Bolas from the hallway.  shared the same class for their last class of the day and Phil was always subjected to trying to wrangle the other members of their group into a semblance of calm.
“I have to take care of an egg with Mariana for fucks sake!”
“Imagine!”
Phil walked into Baghera and Slime about to break into a fistfight. Jaiden was taking bets with Cellbit and Foolish.
“Oi! You two! No fighting on school grounds. You have any grievances you take them out later!”
Baghera shrugged back on her jacket. “He started it.”
“I don’t doubt that.” Phil said with a laugh as he sat down next to Charlie. “Who did you guys end up with?”
Foolish beamed. “Vegetta! We called our egg Leonarda777! Her name is Leo for short.”
“Of course he somehow managed to be partnered with his boyfriend.” Slime muttered.
“Huh? What’s that? Someone wishing their ex would want to get back together with them? Who knows maybe you two will finally make up!” Foolish teased, his grin was shark-like.
“He’s a bitch! I don’t want to get back with him.”
Phil moved on. “And you Baghera?”
“I got partnered with Etoiles,”
“Etoiles is probably the best person to be partnered with, he will spend hours on something to get a slight advantage over others.”
Her eyes shone. “I know right? Our egg Pomme is the most precious girl!”
And they went around the group, rambling about their partner and their eggs. Some point after Slime broke into a rant about Mariana for the fourth time Phil turned on his phone and went straight to his contacts.
Philza: Hey this is Phil. I just checked my work schedule. I should be free after school tonight and Friday.
Missa: Awesome! We’d also have to do one set of tasks over the weekend then. Sunday works best for me ^w^
Philza: I can’t do Sunday it’s the only day that’s completely a non-negotiable
Missa: oh! I’m sorry! I’ll figure out how to get some extra time for Saturday. Soulfire typically does these big group hangouts at the mall but if I’m going to be honest they kinda overwhelm me
Philza: believe me if I could get out of it I would. I do not want you to have to rearrange your schedule
Missa: you offered to do it with your work, I’m just getting out of an extra hour of hanging out at the mall hahaha
Philza: thank you
Missa: Ofc! It’s not an issue!
Jaiden waved her hand in front of Phil’s face, officially pulling his focus off of his phone. “We’ve been saying your name for the past three minutes.”
“Sorry I was messaging my egg partner–”
A chorus of ‘ooos’ filled the room. “Philza has a crush~” Baghera cheered. “Oh I love love!”
“We were figuring out when to meet up to take care of our eggs.”
“So a date?” Foolish asked. Him and Baghera high-fived when Phil sighed.
“Not a date, it's literally just for a project.”
“Sounds like a date to me,” Jaiden said, shrugging off Phil’s noises of shock.
Phil said. “He’s a member of Soulfire!”
Jaiden, Baghera, Slime and Foolish looked around. “He’s not Bad right?”
“...well no–”
“Then there’s no issue!” Baghera said excitedly. “Bad is who we hate, not the rest of soulfire right?”
“But they’re all friends with that muffin fucker!” Foolish yelled.
“Not all of them! Tina’s really ni–”
“No she’s not! She’s a vicious demon!” He yelled again, letting laughter emerge amongst the rest of the bolas group.
“Tina’s sweet, and besides even if you have some dislike for her because of some shit that happened in the past Niki is really nice, she tries to make up for the stuff Bad does.” Phil said.
“See, you're even defending some of Soulfire!” Baghera said.
Phil was quiet when she pointed that out. “You’re all adhd but for some reason he managed to capture your attention— seems like there’s something there to me~”
“I’m leaving for university in three months. I’m getting out of my parents house and—“
“We’re all going to crash at your place for sleepovers!” Foolish interrupted.
“I will be in a dorm room, those things are tiny.”
“Foolish he’s changing the subject! Dumbass!” Jaiden yelled.
“Oh right-“
“Alright.” Cellbit stood up. “Fuck off, give him space.” He kicked Slime out of his seat next to Phil and shooed the others away.
Slime started a fight with Jaiden which promptly distracted them.
“I get your hesitation about opening up to a member of soulfire. Trust is hard for the two of us.” Phil let him keep talking. “I have no doubts that you can figure out a solution to this.”
“A solution to having a member of soulfire as my team?”
“Yes, Niki and Tina might be nice but not all of soulfire is like them.”
“Not all of them are as terrible as Bad.”
Cellbit sighed. “Would you rather me teasing you about a crush? I’m trying to help here—“
“I officially met him last period—“
“Officially? You’ve noticed him before?”
“He’s a part of soulfire of course I noticed him. Missa’s the one always right next to Bad.”
Cellbit gave a small chuckle. “Well good news for you, he always seems terrified of Bad. Bad news though he’s close to Bad.”
“He’s not close to Bad. He defended me, you know? He stopped me from punching Bad in the mouth.”
“Don’t let a pretty boy distract you from your goal.”
“He’s not going to distract me. It's a school project, Cellbit.”
“I know, I just worry for you. You don’t talk about it when things bother you and it’s not healthy. Last time you punched Etoiles so hard he had a black eye.”
“Etoiles can take it.” Phil said, looking at the floor. He still felt bad about it despite Etoiles saying he deserved it.
“We aren’t punching bags Phil. We’re human too. We all need to be vulnerable at times. I’m here for you.”
“I know mate.”
“Keep your guard up but don’t be afraid to be yourself.”
“Ok, yeah. Advice time over, fuck off now.”
Cellbit laughed and quickly managed to distract Jaiden.
Missa: Where do you want to meet up tonight?
Phil: yk the park between school and the mall?
Missa: the one with the big skatepark? My friend skates there
Phil: yeah that one. You wanna meet up there?
Missa: that’s great I live about a five minute walk from there
Phil: oh cool!
Missa: you want to walk there together? We could drop our bags off at my house before heading to the park.
Phil: I’m giving my friends a ride back to their place first sorry
Missa: its not an issue haha
Phil: so meet you there at like 5?
Missa: yep!
Phil: see you then
Phil thought about what Baghera and Cellbit said. They were joking about him having a crush on Missa, right? Cellbit did call him a pretty boy and that’s true. Missa was pretty but he could say that without having a crush.
The project was the first time he had a full conversation with him. And Phil was only interested because he needed to get things done. Missa was cool, from what Phil knew of him but he was still a part of soulfire. Cell was right about one thing though, Missa is friends with stupid ass Badboyhalo.
And Bad was not someone you just became friends with. Maybe when they were younger but now? Now Bad became friends with people because of how they could help him. If Missa was Bad’s friend that meant that Missa wasn’t as sweet as he looked.

|| Clandestine Crush | Joshua Oneshot
You stepped into the cafe, the rich smell of coffee hitting you right away. Today was a big deal—you were meeting Joshua. Your secret boyfriend. Everyone in SEVENTEEN knew, but outside that circle, it was still under wraps.
You settled into a corner table, scanning the room. A few minutes later, the door swung open, and in walked Joshua, dressed all in black with a black mask covering half his face. He looked effortlessly cool, like he just stepped out of a music video.
“Hey!” he called out, his eyes lighting up when he spotted you.
“Hey! You’re late!” you shot back, pretending to be annoyed.
“Had to deal with the guys. They insisted I get you your favorite pastries,” he said, pulling down his mask just enough to flash that smile.
“Lucky me!” you grinned, feeling butterflies.
He leaned in, resting his chin on his hand. “You know I can’t resist spoiling you.”
The vibe was easy as you talked, but deep down, you wished you could just be open about your relationship. Holding hands in public, showing the world you were together—it all felt so tempting.
“Are you okay?” Joshua asked, tilting his head. “You look kinda… lost.”
You sighed, fiddling with your drink. “I just wish we could be more open about this. Hiding it is kinda exhausting.”
He reached across the table, his fingers brushing yours. “I get it. But the guys have our backs, and they’re really good at keeping it low-key. We just need to hang in there.”
“Yeah, but sometimes I want to scream that I’m dating Joshua Hong,” you admitted, half-laughing.
“Can you imagine? Total chaos!” he chuckled, his eyes sparkling.
“Right? But still, it would be worth it,” you said, feeling a little lighter. “I want to celebrate us without feeling like we’re sneaking around.”
“Soon,” he promised, his expression serious. “We’ll figure this out.”
Just then, the door swung open, and in walked Dino, Woozi, and Mingyu, who immediately spotted you.
“There you are! We thought we’d lost you to the coffee!” Dino joked, flashing a grin.
Your heart raced as Joshua leaned back, slipping into 'friend' mode. It felt like a switch had flipped, but you couldn’t help but smile at the guys.
“Yeah, we were just… talking about music,” Joshua said, sounding casual.
“Sure, music,” Mingyu smirked, clearly in on the joke. “Let’s grab a table!”
The energy shifted as they settled in, filling the space with laughter and teasing. It felt good being surrounded by them, knowing they accepted your relationship, even if the world didn’t.
As the group joked around, you caught Joshua’s eye. He gave you that familiar soft smile, and for a moment, it felt like you were the only two people in the room.
Later, after the laughter died down, you leaned in closer to Joshua. “Can we meet again soon? Just us?”
“Definitely,” he replied, his eyes lighting up. “Maybe that new dessert place?”
With every laugh and subtle touch, you felt the thrill of being together. Yet, the question lingered: when would you finally stop hiding?
“Sounds awesome,” you said, your heart racing at the thought.
As the evening continued, a buzz of excitement filled the air. But a thought nagged at you—how long could you keep this hidden? ...
