Breaking down my panels because I am silly and I know some people wanted me to break down my thoughts for this. THOUGH, I still leave a lot up for interpretation!

(I won't go through every single panel since 30 image limit BUT please know that 99.9% of the panels have been beamed with a lot of symbolism. I'm very passionate about this subject, esp with drama scenes LOL)

SECTION 1- MIZRAK'S POV

yes, the first verse and first chorus is from Mizrak's perspective/second verse is from Olrox's perspective.

OK, not only is the establishing shot, but it kinda establishes the major symbolism stuff I play into- hands and windows! Connection and dividers! Please keep in mind eyes are the window to the soul :D

It very much informs the entire animatic LOL.

From here on out (till a certain point :3) the window acts as a divider. This shot will be important for later btw :))) Also I have a feeling Olrox would say something like "Destiny always seemed make believe."

Fun fact, I ended up dropping a wip section 01 to a few people and they were all eviscerated by the part of Mizrak reaching for Olrox. This acted like a screen test for me and later informed me to focus on Mizrak's hand for a few more shots.

WHICH, BY WAY THE CHORUS BREAKUP SECTION FROM MIZRAK'S POV:

I won't delve too much into here, BUT mentally i decided that when interpreting the chorus, it was as if they were speaking to each other. It also happens again for the bridge part :DDD

SECTION 2- OLROX'S POV

What was important to me was getting Olrox's POV on Mizrak, since in Nocturne we explored Mizrak getting insight into Olrox's past I went "omg, let's do the reverse!" and get Olrox to gather insight on Mizrak's past.

I've perceived Mizrak to be a lot more snappier with his co-workers and friends (take for insistence him yelling at the other monks, and being a lot more direct without fanfare with Richter and Maria in the first ep)

PARALLELS !!! Which, the abbey is intentionally overlayed over Olrox, hahaha Mizrak needs to choose between duty and desire :))))) Also this is the sole reason why the placements are skewed heavily to one side, so they can literal mirrored version of each other and be put side by side.

I actually debated myself a lot for this part, because the plan was going to go in a very different direction, however I thought having them not facing the camera, much like how they both can't seem to face themselves (or each other directly for this matter). Which I noticed was a huge thing with the character acting between those two characters.

ANOTHER CALL BACK LOL. Also I personally interpret Mizrak saying "we make our own destiny".

Mizrak reaching out !!! Also, while there is no window, the wood panels are there to substitute for the division theme. Olrox is standing on that divide and Mizrak has to decide if he wants to "break" through that divider.

SECTION 3 - omg they do it

OK, the scenes where they do the deed!!! By this point I feel like you guys are already getting very used to all the call-back scenes, so instead of doing a mirrored version of the first chorus scene, I decided to make all of the lyrics a contradiction to what was happening on screen. This helps for the hard cut to their argument hit sooo much harder (well i would hope sooooo LOL)

also if this shot feels familar, It's from an animation wip I'm working on that's been shelved for now because of uni HAHAH

HAND, this will be the only time they will touch hands. The only time they connect. Also I like the contradiction with the "leave me alone with all of my questions", while they literally hold hands as they do it LOL.

SECTION 4- The argument

OK SO, me explaining these frame isn't super important, its more so a fun fact BUT going back to them using parts of the song as their "dialogue", I thought it would be fun to have them jab at each other. SO when Olrox is paired with:

"Know you fell for the person that tried to be someone they're not." Olrox is taking a jab at Mizrak for not being himself.

"You long for a feeling you'll never get back and I'm scared that you'll finally give up." Mizrak is taking a jab at Olrox for being a 'coward'.

HA, so remember eyes are window to the soul? Well so I decided that for this argument section, I wanted to give off that the argument here was literally going to dig DEEP, so I just ended up reusing the exact same lighting/posing for them. Which is the reason why they're both dead center (and it helps make this section slightly disorientating).

Which by the way, I noticed in Nocturne, these characters don't face each other directly when being vulnerable- they're always like behind or off to their side. The only times where they've been face to face properly are these:

"You're an animal whose soul died centuries ago." "Oh, has the world abandoned you Mizrak?"

They're jabbing into each other's inner psyche, so I wanted to do that here :D

Yes, that is right. Briefly you see Olrox's lover and Olrox's amercia fit. I thought it would be SO angsty for the earring piece to come from Olrox's previous lover. Also the past versions only start appearing during the "but the one you'll never love." :))))))

Btw I'm not 100% solid on Olrox's prev lover design, but I'd love to develop him more someday (if he doesn't get further developed season 2)

SECTION 5- Aftermath

From here on out, I make the references so much more obvious! For Olrox waking up I ended up going backward of the introduction! Which as a final note, the abbey and Olrox are on opposite sides of the divide :)))

Also, around this time I had realised "oh I have 30 seconds left and I want this done now or else it'll fester and rot in my brain, making me unable to do anything else until I finish it." So instead of completely making new assets from scratch, a much more straightforward parallel was in order (and it makes it super angsty too, which double points)

The ending I wanted to leave very open ended! However, I will make it known that he crosses over that divider when he balls his hands into fists, unlike how he was unable to when I first showed this exact shot.

Also these are the three shots I reference back to for this final scene. Mizrak ends up crossing over that divide, much like he did when the animatic started. WHICH AGAIN, you are super free to infer and make up your own thoughts as to why these scenes were crucial for referencing.

By the way, every time we have seen Mizrak from the chest down, it starts from the back, then the side, and now the front :))))

As a side note, every time I cut off a character's head (specifically eyes too) in a shot, it is very purposeful to force the audience to infer what these characters are feeling and base it off their body language alone. It is also in a way, an attempt to conceal as much as I can about what the character is feeling, playing into the theme that eyes are the window to the soul, and we, as the audience, are not allowed into their private thoughts.

I'd love to try my hand at some action boards and see how my analytical brain puts drama beats there, since at this point applying emotional connections to compositions and camera angles is second nature. i have an au focusing on these guys being the staff of the memverse and working on new jobs given by the queen herself (marina) along with their boss duty. it has its own blog called @memverse-updated where these three are trying to manage a social media account. please help me revive it LMAO

rondo and marcia can switch into their original forms at will like they're changing vrchat avatars. the humanoid forms are mostly for communication and actually moving around while the original forms are for work and their boss jelleton duty. canon doesn't need this lol

rondo (she/it) was very willing to keep its guard duty so she became the head security instead of the canons. she takes care of unruly people who broke the rules (think of virtual world rules, esp vrchat) and makes sure they never break them again in her prison. it is cynical and extremely strict at work but keeps a bit of the caring side from pre-corruption days, has zero bullshit tolerance but does not show temper unless pushed to the limit. i think she counts as a transfem but in a jenny from mlaatr way yknow.

canon#4 (she/they) is a semi-accurate clone of agent 4. they seem to have the looks and personality (confident but finds fun in a lot of things) correct but misses the mark on her weapon preference (real 4 is a charger main) and reasoning. their job is to train the other jelletons for the spire. canon#4 really wants to be a real inkling and actively looks for a way to get into the real world. sees other canons as younger siblings but finds the other two staff creepy as hell. canons differ on gender so it's better to ask them individually but the leader is a girl.

marcia (pronounced like marcha, they/it) has been noticed by others that it loves to store things in a certain way so they became the archivist/librarian. they keep in track of memories, palettes, what weapons to give etc. in a big storage/library kind of place. they're actually a chill sweetheart who almost never gets mad (unless you wake them up) but they're also a pushover, a mix of an akward nerdy girl and a sweet grandma but in a non-binary way. actively seeks knowledge and is seen as wise because of this.

OKAY (SPOILER-Y) POST about the new MK 2 movie updates...

Soooo apparently there was an early test screening for the movie (still unfinished) and I have thoughts...

So from what we all know new characters in the movie are Johnny Cage, Shao Kahn, Kitana, Jade, Sindel, Baraka, and Quan Chi ... and that's about it (this screening confirms it) Everyone returns (some as revanants which a lot of us knew). Most of the movie/screen time it sounds like is gonna be mainly Kitana, Johnny, and Shao Kahn.

I def know we'll get fastbacks with a young Kitana (her young self was cast) and her breakdown talked about her family's demise and the kingdom. The screening said the world building was done really well? So that will be interesting to see with Shao Kahn taking over etc. I also know (from some sindel and jade auditions on youtube) there's a prophecy in the script? Sindel tells Kitana about it involving "a barbarian who cannot die" (idk who that would be... Noob?) "a gardener amongst the flames "(my bb scorpion) and " A princess who carries the fates of three different realms" (OBVIOUSLY kitana). So I'm reeeeally interested to see how this unfolds. From this screen apparently we know Kitana is like... the hero lol but how do the other too fit in? That's what I'm curious about! I really love the idea of her being HER being the hero in this story and HER avenging her family and home and not a rando man like every typical "chosen one" saving a princess story line. I'm excited and I heard that the guy who saw screening loved her character!

As for our other heroes Liu, Jax and Sonya it seems like are primarily sticking together but are "sidelined"... I'm assuming that just means they're not the MAIN protagonists since they were bigger in the last movie. Which I'm okay with.... but I hope we get like SOME meaty stuff with those three since I love them so much and I feel like the cast genuinely like and work well together (esp Jax and Sonya !!) And I love Johnny so I REALLY wanna see him WITH the other champions from Earth. I know his breakdown it said he has a friendship with Baraka (which the screening confirms) but not much else with the others? Fingers crossed for reshoots and we get more scenes with them. If not that's SUCH a missed opportunity imo- it would be so fun to see him interact with them as a team.

Loved hearing that Karl's performance was really good but the guy just said he too old? So not sure what that means or how that's gonna translate? Like why can't this film go with a Johnny that is more of an washed up old action star. Idk. I also wish I heard more about the humor (if any) in his performance.

I already knew Hiro/Scorpion wasn't gonna be in much of the movie (he was busy with Shogun and being a superstar lol) but I reaaaallly wanna see how his character fits in with everything. The guy at the screening didn't mention him in regards to the story-just who he fights with - which are some interesting match ups.

Nothing really about Shang Tsung .... idk I wish we heard more about my evil boy lol.

7. What character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?

I think this is Klavier for me. To be clear I already didn't really like him in the base canon, but I think this is also because I expected far more of him because of fanon lol. He really ain't shit and it does kind of boggle me that he's SO fucking popular when he's like. this cardboard man.

Now I'm all about adding way more meaning to characters who I think can have way more depth than they do in canon, and Klavier is ripe for the picking there because he IS an interesting guy conceptually, but I don't... like what people do with his character. I kinda just don't get it. Like when I see fanart of him, esp. Kla-pollo art, it doesn't seem like him. It's like he's a different guy. I do not know this man. He's not cringefail and dry enough LOL. And I'm tired of seeing him shoehorned in everywhere.

16. You can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)

I don't want to complain about Klavier again, so... well with canon I really don't get why people like AA4 so much but I know that's not what the question is asking LMAO. It's more about the fandom than anything.

Here's one. I don't get how a lot of the fandom characterizes Nahyuta. And it's because he's very unpopular and people hate on him, so they make him out to be way worse than he is. Like, he is NOT a very good person but I feel like it gets to a point where people make shit up about him to get mad about, or read everything he does in the most bad faith way possible. Like saying he was intentionally trying to trigger Athena, or that he's horrible to Ema because he expects her to follow his own (insane and unhealthy, admittedly) work pace.

That's not him. I know him and he's not doing it out of malice. He's just a freak LOL. People love mischaracterizing him because they do not like him.

21. Part of canon you think is overhyped

Bearing in mind I love the original trilogy, I do think it's a little overhyped compared to the AJ trilogy. People act like DD and SOJ are monstrous compared to the original trilogy and I'm like... nottt really? The scale is bigger but I don't feel like they're meaningfully all that much different compared to the original trilogy.

I also think TGAA 1 is overhyped only if you view it and 2 as separate games. If you recognize they're a single game split in two (ala LOTR being split into three but is a single book) it explains a lot of the issues. I love TGAA 1 but its cases are a little all over the place or too slow for me. Great game though.

25. Common fandom complaint that you're sick of hearing

I think this is an obvious answer knowing me but I'm sick to bastard death of listening to people talk shit on SOJ. I fucking love SOJ, it's still my top AA game that isn't TGAA. Like it has some major writing issues but what's there is legitimately so great. The most stacked cast in any AA game. Not a single bad character, not a SINGLE bad case (though the fourth one is getting there plot-wise, but the character interactions are terrific), super fun worldbuilding even if some of it is goofy. Like AJ's backstory is goofy but I LIKE it. It's the most cohesive backstory he has so far and I love his connection to Nahyuta.

Khura'in is such a special place and the Khura'inese cast is spectacular, truly spectacular. They're all my top favorite characters in the entire series.

More specifically, I'm sick to death of people bitching about Nahyuta. He's definitely underwritten and he needed to be more present in the trials because I actually DO feel like his voice is missing a little from these cases, but he's a fucking shining star. My favorite character in the series. I think his concept is brilliant and he's got a terrific design, too. I find him infinitely compelling and so fun to explore in writing.

hi! the chicago anon again (sorry if I'm being annoying, you just seem more reliable than asking 100 random chicago redditers)

ive been talking with my dad about this a bit for the past month and the one thing he's mainly talking about is how unsafe and dangerous chicago is at all times but particularly at night, esp since im a woman. obviously since you still live there and like living there, it's not as bad as everyone thinks it is. but what do you think and what's it like?

I feel very safe here lol. I live in the Wrigleyville/Lake View East area and like little kids are out and stuff. I walked home from work at 11pm every night for a long time and I never felt unsafe. To be totally honest, I feel so safe here that I once walked a mile and took two L trains that I'd never taken before home at 1am after a concert alone while tripping on acid. I ONLY did this because there were SO many people from the concert around me, otherwise I wouldnt have done that. There are also a lot of people jogging or kids playing after dark around Southport which is how you know it's safe. I wouldn't make a habit of using public transit after like 10pm, but I do it sometimes and feel fine doing it.

Also you don't need your parents permission to move, you just need to do it. You should be an adult lol. With my parents, the plan was always that I would move but I had to find a job first. Then one day I went up to visit a friend and "just look" at an apartment "to see what the apartments there are like." I ended up signing the lease that night. I think if I'd never done this and waited to get a job or for my parents to "let" me, I never would have moved.

(Don't tell your dad this part lol) I've lived here for three years and I've only had two weird things happen to me and both of them were in neighborhoods I don't usually frequent and was in for a weird random reason like picking up a cat tree off Craigslist. Both of them were also largely inconsequential. Usually absolutely nothing happens but I just wanna be honest lol

The first time I got punched in the side of the head on the train while picking up a cat tree off Craigslist. I was not injured just startled and the person who did it was houseless and having some mental issues. There was no leadup or provocation, they just got into the car and clocked me. There were other people in the car but I was the only woman. I think if it had escalated someone would have intervened. They yelled something at me but I just didn't react and then got off at the next stop.

The second time I accidentally got off at the wrong train stop underground. A few seconds after I got off the train 3 or 4 guys with their hoods up surrounded me and the one in front acted like he pulled a gun. I put my hands up and then I saw their faces and realized they were literally 13/14 years old and he didn't have a gun, it was just his fingers. For a second I thought it was just like dumb kids scaring girls for fun and immediately got super annoyed.

Then I realized they were wearing identical tracksuits and there was a guy my age (20s) also in a matching tracksuit standing several yards away who motioned for them to run and they all went sprinting down the tunnel. I hate to say this but I am pretty sure it was a gang thing and that guy was having kids practice robbing people. The whole thing lasted 5 seconds tops and I wasn't hurt or anything but I did feel really shaken up from the adrenaline in a way I'd never felt before because I did really think I was getting robbed at gunpoint for a second lol. I just went where I was going and moved on but yeah.

Also one time I was getting off the Red Line by my house and about one million cops were getting on and there were obvious undercover cops stationed outside and at every intersection around the train. IDK what happened and again, I was fine, but I was really scared because I figured there must have been something very serious like a bomb threat or active shooter.

IDK where I'm going with this except rambling but like. Stuff does happen but like I'm from suburban Iowa and have zero street smarts and walk/take transit all the time and I'm like fine. It's pretty surprising if you're from somewhere like Bettendorf Iowa where nothing happens ever but you'll be completely fine lol.

INCHRESTING TIMING... i literally just found out today, a year and a half of playing later that theres a... max pikmin count?

i was less than a week away from hitting the pikpocalypse! again I have to ask, what is the point of this game? LOL, it seems like each year I have to make one post about questioning what the point of this app even is

at first, I was into it for the novelty of planting flowers but I (like many other people) lost interest when I realized they aren't permanent. I don't know, something about filling up your town with a garden felt a lot more fufilling than how they actually are, so it just became my pedometer / nightly checkin app for awhile

but then things really turned for the better when I realized that you want to match pikmin to shroom color for raids! Ive been happy for god knows how long, maybe ten months even? it seemed like such a good loop- grow pikmin, use them for pickups to boost their friendship and slowly see your ability to take down each mushroom increase for each color.

add in the high cieling and steady gradual improvement and I was pretty damn happy! even if the rewards weren't much to me (I pretty much only use nectar / petals to Not Have Full Jars and enjoying the haptic feedbacks of feeding them) so it was a bit of a hollow cycle. the real payoff was definitely seeing my army grow, and my enjoyment hit an all time high when I went on a vacation far away and tried to get one of each color from that country in three days. (also, sending pikmin on ocean voyages lasting ten days was super novel)

so now I hit the second existential nightmare of pikmin bloom.... its not a game about growing your army. another hit this same confusion at the initial cap (300) and asked the same question on reddit. and i just Do Not agree with the responses? "oh youre supposses to farm them to max bond then delete them for petals." for TEN PETALS? after ten MONTHS of friendship? im sorry, I know road flowers are suppossed to be the end goal in miyamotos little imagination but that is FAR from compelling to me. even if theyre rare petals... absolutely not? another huge pull in this last year was collecting decor sets (esp seasonal) so I somewhat understand sacrificing your army of hometown stickermin at some point but... absolutely not. that is NOT how im playing! im nowhere near at max shroom destroying capacity!

I'm not really saying death of the industry gacha game necessarily, I'm not even saying scamtendo because playing for a year and a half and only feeling pressured to make a micro transaction once is actually decent in my mind. I'm just baffled at how little of a point this game seems to have and how miyamoto it is in its insitance on this fleeting impermanent joy of planting flowers. but yeah uh, sorry if refusal to put my army in the meat grinder for ten petals is playing the game wrong but like. I will gladly pay $12 to keep growing my army for a few years while it's still fun

okay look i know i said i was doin' the brains but then shuffle put this on and i was like "oh." so !!

i'll never shut up about the fact that these barely-20-somethings have what feels like the weight of the world on their shoulders-- or, in the case of clock-la, they might have genuinely had the weight of the world on their shoulders.

i will also never shut up about the cooper legacy and how much weight it puts on their shoulders independent of the whole fighting for their lives thing.

again, in-depth analysis/breakdown under the cut <3 this one's a little on the longer side, i think. and the choruses get typed out every time bc i didn't want to cut around them bc of the "give it to your sister" segments. so yeah.

this is also mostly murray & sly, but theres a fair amount of bentley in there too :3

anyway ! i feel like he's also the like. the Silliest, y'know? the naive one that's usually getting made fun of, i think. and he presents the most, he's not built for subtlety; he's very visible. which is also part of why this line is He. he probably feels like he's a circus act to be watched and laughed at, y'know?

and then there's sly, who loves the whole thief thing and loves his role and wouldn't trade it for the world, but... he got shoved into this whole thing too, y'know? he loves being a thief, but i'm sure he would love it more if it had been his choice, if anybody had asked him before it was suddenly his everything.

yet another cotton candy line. look i can go SO in-depth about sly and his self-esteem issues esp. during sly 3. there's an interaction during a cold alliance that is pretty much the entire formation for this head of canon ("Sure you won't need my help on the inside?" "I'm afraid this is a problem only technology can solve." "...Right. Well, have fun with your, uh, technology." "Don't wait up- this could go all night!")

and then there's murray, who thinks he's not "of service" and leaves because he doesn't want to hinder the team any more than he thinks he already does (see the sly 2.5 comic.) he doesn't just think he's worthless if he's not doing something, he thinks he's worse than that; if he's not helping, he's a hinderance. hell i'm pretty sure he thinks he's a hinderance even when he IS helping sometimes. (see: him blaming himself for the clock-la incident.)

this is mostly just bc i am an oldest bentley truther lol. but also i think he does wind up with a lot of "heavy things [they] can't shoulder" because as the planner i think that's just how that goes. he knows his brothers' skillsets! if something needs done that the two of them can't do, it's bentley's job. (see: demolitions, rc, etc.)

okay this was originally combined with the next one but i needed a place to talk about sly and the generational trauma. like sly's entire LIFE is built around being a thief (hence the "who am i if i can't run with the ball"- if sly cooper isn't a master thief, who even is he?) and living up to his family's legacy, hence the pressure. and no matter what he does, he can't escape it (it won't let go, wink wink.)

now because sly 4 simply isn't real this'll probably be the only time i mention it in this breakdown but even when he isn't a thief he still can't escape the Cooper burden, and his whole bloodline is once more put into peril because of something he had nothing to do with.

...i think. i'm only like 1/4 of the way into sly 4 but i'm pretty sure it's the classic steven universe style my parent(s) did something to you but now they're dead so you're determined to take it out on me bc i'm their kid thing.

also the "tick tick tick 'til it's ready to blow" is very the murray very much so has Some Rage Within There. most notable example of this is Opera of Fear when octavio pisses him off by harassing bentley and he beats the shit out of the poor opera lion man.

i'm realizing the way him and sly view themselves are very similar lol. however i think murray finds some peace in training with the guru and is able to fall back from this mindset a bit. but that's not related.

again, more Strong One. he's big and tough and therefore he should be the one handling these things. he's the Strong One and therefore he is handling these things and he is handling them fine, he says, like a liar. he is Not Fine.

bentley is very Worried in General, as we know. "hide [his] nerves" probably comes into play bc he's their voice of reason, and if the voice of reason is panicking then everything is terrible and they're all gonna die. HOWEVER if he's not panicking then he might accidentally make sly and murray think they're in less danger than they are (leading to them being a little more careless and only worsening his nerves.)

OKAYOKAYOKAY "the ship doesn't swerve as it heard how big the iceberg is" gives me very much so vibes of the one Ro.tTM.NT episode with the poison pizza puffs and the younger three are constantly like "rap.h'll bail us out :]" and rap.h is like "NO."

i think sly and murray do that to bentley a lot, esp. post jailbreak. it doesn't matter what kind of trouble they get into because bentley can bust them out ! which is why the metaphorical ship isn't swerving. it's kind of sweet the amount of trust they have for bentley however bentley would like to humbly request they stop showing him they trust him by throwing themselves into danger!

and the return of the cotton candy self-esteem issues again and still pretty much for the same reason. though i admit this line is mostly murraycore, hence why it's so much more pink than blue <3

murray's 'purpose' is to be the strong one, sly's is to be a thief. again they both think that they're "worthless if [they] can't be of service" but sly is a little different in the fact that his purpose rlly isn't going anywhere.

meanwhile murray after the clock-la incident is pretty sure he has lost his purpose! he thinks he failed at being the Strong One ("can i somehow preserve this?") and that dominoes (wink) into him spiraling over every tiny mistake he makes (as we see during the aforementioned sly 2.5 comic where he blames himself for every little thing) but all that really does is make him clam up and mess up more which. "you try to stop it toppling but on and on it goes," y'know?

sly is atlas and the cooper name is his globe, y'know?

these colors are out of order (usually it would be green -> pink -> blue) because i wanted sly to have the "all we know is" ... despite the fact that it really matches all of them. they've never lived any other way, sly especially.

again w the family thing like i said i will never shut up about it. even when he's Literally About to Die bc his dad didn't believe in minimum wage he's worried about how he compares to the Coopers before him ("Would he be proud? Or ashamed?") like bb harbor some resentment in there for the hell you've been put through.

debated switching sly and murray's lines for this ending segment but i think this works the best. again with the Rage That Will Explode and also his inescapable hell of being The Strong One.

this is both about bentley being the jack of all trades when he needs to be and about him keeping the other two out of trouble. he's certain the other two would be 'pulled under' by the stress of more things to do, and he's certain they would be 'pulled under' and kept under if he wasn't there to bail them out.

guess what .. it's the generational trauma again <3 more about sly and his need to live up to his family line because as the line says who is he if he doesn't have what it takes!

bentley's determined to not crack under the pressure because of his brothers, both to keep them out of trouble and to bail them out of the troubles they get into anyway. murray's determined to not break because he's The Strong One, and if he's not, then he's certain he'll be some kind of hinderance. and sly's determined to not make any mistakes so he can earn his cooper name and make his father proud.

most likely to have been done or to be rather obvious ones. I just feel like dropping these.

Disclaimer — most likely half assed burst of energy thoughts and headcanons of the universe. I'm quite thick headed with my understandment of things and may not realise i have made a mistake about something, feel free to correct me if i have ~ Also these are just for fun.

You cannot convince me that sensory relieving products are not one of the most common things to see in public in BNHA universe. And they are not judged upon having them bc they understand that many people due to their quirks may need them, it's not the ND people majority anymore to use them. ( Not saying that NT people don't use them, but it's more common for sensory relieving, stim things etc to be found with ND people. ;³ )

I swear to ukko that there is always something in the quirks that makes sensory relieving common. Even if it's the little things.

Uhhh also it's not weird anymore if someone buys animal products to be used on themselves. Esp if they have a mutation type quirk lol and don't find any of the mutation-type specific products working on them but some animal / pet products seem to do the job with little side effect maybe? Itchy skin, possibly inflamed skin/eyes etc etc.

I think related to the last one that there maybe some argument worth thoughts about non-mutation-type people using mutation-type products. Like as an example how if a straight hair person uses haircare products meant for type three and/or four hair.

Since we've seen how some mutation quirks are sometimes seen as ugly or feared bc the appearance they give the people with the quirks. ( Hint to that one episode with AFO and OFA origin tale where AFO speaks of the man with the mutation quirk scaring his parents bc how he looks ) . I just think there maybe a lot of discrimination on mutation types more than any other types of quirks. Of course never to forget the discrimination that's seen in our own world and how serious that is, just a little add on the list that might be discriminated against in this universe.

Oh yeah it was confirmed that the time consuming rabbit hole of a clock app is a thing in the BNHA. So I'd think there would be pretty intensive content and really dangerous ones at that actually.

Also about bullying, it would be more intensive looking at the way how quirks work and form (expect for mutation types) at the age of four.

But as I said few paces up about the mutation-type discrimination, it's easy to see how that would turn out for growing kids with more " scarier " or " disgusting " or " freak-like " mutation quirks would muddle their sense of worth.

Disabilities would either be treated the same like it is in our world, or they would be more better or worser. Actually thinking about it more when it comes to quirk related disabilities it wouldn't probably be much of a problem to outsiders since it would be more visible, but of course there could be the whole bad days and good days with the disabilities that are seen as something some abled people cannot understand enough and are being assholes about. But when it comes to invisible disabilities i really think they could be possibly undermined more or there could be more resources either way can be true or true-ish.

I think there are divisions in sports for different types of people. Like quirkless division, few different divisions for emitter-types, mutation-type quirks, and transformation-types.

Within the sports and divisions is altered rules, techniques and limitations. Then ofc there are sports only for different types that aren't generally held for other types of quirks or quirkless people. Some may be only for mutation-types, some for different kinds of emitters and some only for quirkless as an example.

Then there's ofc different types of jobs, some jobs that usually required a machines help can be replaced with a certain quirk and some that only hire one type of quirk people or only quirkless people.

BTW about the commission of Japan that's shown in the series, i really think they can be more ruthless and inhumane than they were with the shown heroes/srs . Like literally, brainwashing, conditioning in general etc i really think they would be more than able to do so. With all their resources and the confidiality on the job they would even get away with it if they pull it off.

OKAY SO. okay. tbh i'm not completely sure what i like the most but it's probably a combo of the art design/style + gameplay + characters. the art i'd say is incredibly beautiful and unique !!! the designs are really lovely and all (esp as someone who is a big fan of greek mythology which is one factor as to why i love the game so much!) <3 the gameplay is REALLY fun. and good. it's a roguelike game and it actually ties to the game's concept of death and resurrection ?? (underworld stuff. zag is literally the god of rebirth) and it's REALLY good at what it does. very addicting. no run is exactly the same and i personally didn't think i'd be fond of roguelike games but hades just really hits with it !! (a lot of people who don't like roguelike games seem to think this way too). tbh if hades is your kinda game then it genuinely is. sort of. really a Perfect Game ?? story + gameplay + visuals are like the three pillars of it and as far as i personally know all of that is just incredibly good. the protag is likeable, the other characters are likeable, i don't know some of the most important story bits yet but so far it truly is very interesting, each run is connected to the last (such that if you get a different boss, zag actually says smth abt that! it is a very fluid game. if that's properly describing it). LOWKEY EVERYONE IN THE GAME IS HOT. most likely bcs of the artstyle which is really just so nice <3 BUT YEAH i don't really like roguelikes bcs you kinda restart progress right? but hades really feels productive with each run (i even look forward to dying in game!!!!!) and there's so much failure but i don't really feel frustrated. it's a really rewarding game imo and no wonder a lot of people considered it to be their goty of 2020 (and it won a few awards for that too i think) <33 SORRY FOR RAMBLING SO MUCH BUT YEAH .... the game genuinely is just so good. also the voice acting is actually great. literally nobody asked for this but i feel like yapping about random stuff about sapphire passion (mostly a lot of rambling about idols + a smidge of actual things about the fic lol)

I. putting in way too much effort into the research

first off, i would argue i'm way more familiar with k-pop idols than i am with jp idols, esp. jp chika idols (16 yrs vs 1 yr lol) but it was really fun diving into the rabbit hole! anyways this is just a disclaimer that i'm still really new to (non-anime) jp idols so uh cut me some slack if i get some stuff wrong lol

anyways, i think k-pop fan meets have a lot less opportunity for intimacy (2 second hi-touches, group meet and greets/photos, short facetime chats.... you get my gist). fansigns are a thing but definitely not in the western sphere so i'll admit i kinda forgot they existed. regardless, it just did not pique my interest.

the whole idea of chekis really lured me in. if you're loaded/have the time/your oshi doesn't have much of a line, you can just. keep buying more cheki tickets lol. you make nice small talk, and you can build a rapport if you're a regular. pretty sure there was some twt thread a bit back about an idol who married her fan? and then some people qrt'd saying that it was a pretty common occurrence (not that i've fact checked it. another possible fic idea?)

another rabbit hole i fell down was trying to hear how loudly audiences chant depending on the gender majority, which was REALLY hard for some reason? there's a lot more fancams for female chika idols than there are for male chika idols, and when you do find performances for male idols, it's usually an official recording which cuts out all the shouts from the crowd -___- all i wanted to do was see if it was in chara of reader to be shouting and cheering intensely ;___; (i mean they would regardless, but. idk the rabbit hole consumed me)

also fem fans seem to move their lightsticks differently! usually more in like... a figure 8 wrist thing??? than the usual up down up down motion i'm used to seeing in wota.... lots of inch resting things..

II. ok actually on to the fic

im just gonna try and talk about w/e comes to mind in chronological order (sorry if it's not, i just be yappin)

i didn't describe the new stage outfit because i didn't have one completely set in mind at the time of writing. i did recently see these stage outfits from save point and i think this with light blue detailing + maybe an asymmetrical capelet is what i envisioned. very knight/prince-like vibes. that being said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, you can imagine whatever you'd like :)

gojo does not know reader's name lmao. during the text messages, i made the conscious decision of not using "y/n" (or alternatives). i literally had it in there but took it out because i thought it'd be scummier if you fell for it hook line and sinker without realizing. (also i just don't like typing out y/n in fics if i can avoid it, personally)

the date scene was really hard to write, i think i scrapped and rewrote it like three times? i was contemplating between a naive reader (which i went with) vs a reader that started picking up on something not being quite right, but i just did not feel like i had the skill to pull it off nor did i know how to move the plot on from there? it's not the usual reader i write... here's a snippet of what could've been:

anyways moving on past the date:

“Not at all,” you gesture towards the case with your hands and a slight bow, a bit too formally for the situation at hand, “go ahead.” You swear his eyes sparkle as he looks over the case before settling on one of the light sticks. “Did you decorate this one yourself?” “I did! It was before you released official light sticks.”

In terms of decorating light sticks, that sparkly white inside? it's paper. you can remove it. my personal penlight just pops off when you twist it, there's not much resistance. you can decorate it with fake flowers, ribbons, sticker decals, whatever you want. some groups have official lightsticks, though they're usually the type of act to sell out stadiums. (forgot i was writing for a chika idol for a split second)

i think everything that comes after that came really naturally. penlights are phallic and approximately dildo sized. like what else was i supposed to do man.

Ok, I need to rant. And its gonna be quite long. Esp cause of screenshots.

This is absolutely nothing new to me. Half my blog is filled with rants identical to this. Like, I have no faith in men, I've no faith in anime fans, I have very little faith in anime in general.

But I do like voice actors. And bc I got into them quite early, I... remain ignorant to their flaws. They're my "celebrities", basically, but I dont engage in voice actor fandom. I know some things about them here and there - I listen to OnoD and Kamiya's radio wnv it gets translated amongst others (theirs is the main tho), I watch the stage shows, I know some facts here and there, I know a lot of them are married to each other, etc etc

But in terms of controversies, gossip, anything of the like, I know mostly jack shit.

Voice actors aren't perfect, there's gonna be some bad apples, so maybe it occurs a lot or they're mostly a good bunch. Who knows. The only one's I know of is the Takahiro scandal where he has apparently cheated on his wife for 10 years with multiple women without her knowing. And something similar with Suzuki as well. I don't know what's happened in terms of Takahiro's career since he has huge roles (from Jujutsu to Osomatsu), but I know that Suzuki was replaced in at least one anime. I've no further knowledge on that.

Now, acting is art. And voice acting is art. What VA's manage to convey to me through their work is v special to me.

I defo dont know how the industry works, esp in Japan. I hear this and that about it. It seems v confusing. In terms of how they get roles, it seems to be the main two. They audition, or their called in for a part, esp if they're big VA's.

I..................... idk....... I liked to believe that VA's, after they become more known and have a steady income, like actors in general, start to choose their roles, esp when I see a pattern...

So to bring back Takahiro for a sec, or even OnoD, or Kaji Yuki - all three of them have played some of my faves. Takahiro as Misaki, OnoD as Shizuo, Sebastian or Midorima, and Kaji... uh, Hermes would be the closest I'd have as a fave for his work, but I thought he portrayed Eren brilliantly, and he has some fun roles that make me laugh.

But three of them have also played despicable characters, that I cant stand. And not one or two, quite a few.

And that's fine for the most part. It's acting. They're playing a role. They are not their characters. When they play the hero, the womaniser, the gentleman, the sweetheart, the asshole, the villain, the whatever, they are not their characters. They dont share the morals of their good or bad characters. This is common sense.

However, I just feel like... when a VA isn't more choosy with their roles, and plays the worst kind of character out there, a character that honestly? Shouldn't even exist... It gets to me. I wish it didn't but it does.

Like, Index is an anime that I'm appalled was ever even made. Its an "I hate women" anime and the male creator is rich from it bc its popular. Who is it popular amongst? Males ofc lol. Target demographic and they love that misogynistic shit. They do not hide it. And I'm sure the creator knows what the fans of his work are like. He's one of them. The main character in this anime is my most hated character. And I honestly........ honestly cant help myself when I avoid anything that the voice actor for this character is in, unless I didn't know about it at first (like Yowapeda). When I hear his voice, I just kind of... opt out. But I rarely see him pop up in animes I'm interested in anyway, so I'm lucky.

And so the pattern I was talking about... How come VA's like Maeno manages to almost never play a misogynistic douche? In fact, the grossest character I remember him playing was v early in his career, so prob during a time he couldn't be picky. But since then, its been mostly fine. Same with Nakamura, and Suwabe, and Kamiya honestly. VA's like Takahiro and OnoD and Kaji, like I said, have played a good bunch of despicable characters. Seeeeveral of them.

When I split it in two, what I see with the first bunch is that they make a choice not to play certain characters. With the second bunch I get the vibe that they just go for whatever role they're offered. And so I appreciate the first bunch more, I cant help but feel that way... And maybe I'm making that up and these VA's dont give a DAMN what characters they play as long as they're paid. IDK! But due to the pattern, it helps, its like... If I see certain VA's in the list for a certain anime, I can sort of trust the anime. And that's been mostly true.

Now, onto my main point. There's an anime currently airing. Idk why since I never engage in it, but I get a lot of anime crap on my facebook. And... this came up today

Nothing about this surprises me. Not a woman being beaten up in anime by a man (and I mean no matter what she happened to do, whether she was bad or innocent, a man beating a woman is v common), the laugh reacts, or the comments. In fact, this was of no surprise to me

I went to watch the scene. Now this wasn't a fight, this was him beating the shit out of her. Just so much one-sided punching. I stopped counting how many times he hit her. It went on for about 6 mins.

And this... gross prick... with an icon that looked like that... an oversexualised BDSM looking anime woman... wanted to see her beaten more. For at least another 6 mins.

BUT ANWYAY, I'm not ranting about that. Fans of these animes that look like this esp

--with all that harem bullshit, are of no surprise to me. That's whatever at this point. Male fans will always have these animes made for them.

Oh also, apparently she's a masochist and ends up falling for him

What kinda got to me was who happened to be the VA for this character. Now, he's not one of my faves, but he plays a lot of characters I love.

He's Vector in Zexal, Shinkai in Yowapeda, Daichi in Haikyuu. He's not struggling for roles...

If I was an actor not struggling, and just accepted any role given to me, idk... I feel like you can either contribute to terribleness being put out into this world, or you dont. I was mad at the Game of Thrones actors for a while until... I realised that ofc they made the choice to be on that show. Nobody was a big star at the time, this created their stardom. They now get to be picky. They now get to choose what media to be a part of. I dont think even I would have refused to be on that show if I was starting out. I'd just bash it afterwards like how whatshisface does about Twilight.

I believe the existence of Game of Thrones is an awful thing. Bc it has shown me, with fan reactions, what people are willing to accept, joke about, and in a way... emulate in real life. I have heard the grossest comments from real life males about what happens to women in that show. If you are involved with media that is harmful, whether you're just an actor in it or not, you've contributed to the message it puts out.

This VA defo had the choice when he read the roles and saw "main character beats the crap out of woman, will most likely draw in male fans in droves with comments like #now THIS is what I call equality, and #ive fapped to worse, and #bitches need this kinda beating", would you still like to do it?" and chose "YES got no problems here"

Well, you contributed, and at this point in your career where you can be choosy, I'm so disappointed

I'm just glad he's not one of the VA's I generally feel like I can trust with their roles, since, idk, they NEVER seem to choose those extreme roles that draw in the worst fans, but still. I cant help but just... sigh. And be wary.

If I go back to Maeno for a sec, yeah there's a possibility he'll disappoint me one day. But for how often he does shoujos, and BL's, and when he does shounens he's likeable (whether he's a hero, anti or villain), I truly like to believe that, he knows that female anime fans are why he's successful, and so he's loyal to them and the kinda roles women would like.

But yeah.
