From the traditional rules, I don’t particularly like or strive for legacy gameplay or waiting for lots to be unlocked until after so much gameplay has happened. In my mind it makes more sense that a lot is unlocked to facilitate gameplay. For example: needing an art center or gallery or museum to open the Artist career. Whereas the traditional rules have it the other way around. I think because there’s so much I haven’t played with in the game yet and I don’t like sims staying home to do everything so in order to explore gameplay (skills and careers and activities), they need to have community lots to do them on. Idk if this makes sense haha but yeah I am trying to rethink the rules because I would rather have more community lots than households in my game and typically BACC rules and variations I’ve seen focusing on adding more households

Definitely get where you're coming from, anon! The beginning is super grind-y, and there's almost no reason to ever really leave your lot unless you're super intentional about getting creative with it—which, speaking from experience, only extends the duration of the grind!

(And honestly, while we're on the subject of bending BACC rules... Controversial take, but if you're starting in a neighborhood or world with streets and stoplights and shell houses and things imo it doesn't make sense to have to start anything off-grid in TS4... 🤷🏼‍♀️ Use max handiness to unlock building additions or new lots or something instead, idk! But I digress.)

One thing it took me way too long to realize (because it isn't in the spreadsheet for some reason) is that the Community Space lot type is unlocked by default when you start the challenge. So if you mostly want to stick to the rules but want to jump in with more spaces available right away for your sims to use for skill-building, you could set up a Community Space (or more?) and just have your sims vote to make them a Maker Space for handiness and painting, Community Garden for gardening, etc. I don't think you'd be gaining any unfair advantage doing it this way, and if it helps you for storytelling or immersion purposes... Why not? 😌 That Community Space building could even be renovated the Arts Center or whatever when you get to the point of unlocking that.

You turned around with Carlos 2 in your arms so he was sandwiched between you and Carlos 3. "¿Vas a ser un lanzador algún día? Porque eres muy fuerte." [You going to be a pitcher one day? Cause you're very strong] You asked tickling your son's neck making him giggle. "De ninguna manera, él va a conducir autos como papá, ¿no es así?" [No way, he's going to drive cars like daddy, isn't that right] Carlos 3 chuckled, kissing his son's cheek.

"¡sí!" [yeah] Your son exclaimed grabbing his dads nose, standing up between you two. You laid on your back watching the two interact. "Yo ganaré." [I'm going win!] Although the idea of your son racing scared you, you could only smile at him brushing the soft hair on his head.

It was already Saturday and you were walking through the paddock with your two Carlos-es ( what's the plural of Carlos? ). Carlos 2, wearing red bull merch (much to his father's dislike because you were a redbull fan and max somehow convinced carlos 2 to also become one), was sat on his dads shoulders, holding on his hair for stability.

Carlos 3 was holding your hand with his free one while you two walked through the garage. "Looks like it's going to rain." Carlos 3 mumbled, looking out at the weather. "You'll be fine." You assured leaning up to kiss his cheek, before gently removing your son from off his shoulders.

"Noooo." [noooo] Carlos 2 whined trying to reach his father. "Quiero papa." [i want dad] "Pero papá va a manejar" [But papa's got to drive.] "Pero quiero papa" [But I want papa] ouch. "Why dont we spend time with mama till papa finishes" You offered kissing his cheek gently. "We can go explore or pull out your toys till papa finishes, how about that?" "Bueno." [okay] He nodded, you had him once he heard explore or toys.

"Di hasta pronto papa" [say, seen you soon papa] You son only waved at his dad, receiving a quick kiss from him before the driver disappeared. "Podemos salir afuera" [can we go outside] "Por supuesto, mi amor." [of course my love]

Once Carlos 3 pulled up in Parc Freme, you two were the first to greet him. While you weren't a Ferrari fan, you still supported your husband, wearing his cap because you didn't want to buy one. Once you celebrated with your husband, you went to cheer for Max, who had gotten pole.

When Sunday morning came, you had to leave and go back to Madrid due to an emergency with work. Carlos 3 was only able to get his son to wear the chili bucket hat for the weekend, carrying his son through the grid decked in redbull merch.

"Well hello there." An interviewer greeted. "Good morning. di buenos dias, Carlos." [say good morning] Your husband instructed, but he only watched his son shrink into his chest shyly. "What's your name?" The interviewer asked. "He's not very good at english, mama's still teaching him." Carlos 3 spoke for his son, translating what the woman asked.

"Carlos." The boy replied quietly. "Really? How old are you, Carlos?" after receiving the translation the boy held up three fingers, looking at them confused. "There we go." His father fixed them for him, fixing the three to a four. "Cuatro." he held up his fingers. "Very big then huh?" Carlos 3 only looked at his son, gently kissing his temple.

You were glad the first part of the race took place during your breaktime, watching your son and husband on TV. "And we're expecting a second Sainz yes?" "A girl, I'm praying it's a girl."

You chuckled at him, shaking your head at the screen. "Decir adiós a mamá, Carlos." [say bye bye to mama, carlos] Your husband told his son once the interview was over, pointing at the camera. "Te extraño mamá." [i miss you mama] Your son waved shyly, a smile on his face that only made his heart warm. "Eh? But it's more fun with me, no? Nos vemos, mi amor." [see you later my love]

           You were exhausted but couldn’t sleep. The case had been weighing on everyone, especially you and Hotch. You tossed and turned in your bed, glancing at the clock. It was nearly midnight, and sleep still evaded you. With a sigh, you pushed the blankets off and stepped out onto your balcony, hoping the cool night air might calm your agitated mind.

           As you slid the glass door open and stepped out, you noticed the soft glow from the balcony next to yours. There, standing quietly, was Hotch. His posture was tense as he leaned on the railing, but the lines on his face softened slightly when he spotted you.

           “What's got you up this late agent?” he asked, his voice low and soothing against the quiet hum of the night.

           You shook your head. “Too much on my mind,” you admitted, leaning on the railing too. “You?”

           “Same here.”

           A comfortable silence fell between you both, distant traffic lulling you into a shared sense of calm. The sight of Hotch, looking slightly more relaxed, made something inside you soften.

           Without thinking much, you asked, “Can I come over?”

           His brow raised slightly in surprise, but then he nodded. “Yeah, of course.”

           You slipped back inside your room, grabbed your keycard, and made your way to Hotch’s door. He opened it before you even knocked, standing aside to let you in.

           “Hope you don’t mind,” you said softly, suddenly feeling a little shy. “I just… didn’t want to be alone.”

           Hotch shook his head with a small smile. “It's okay.”

           You settled on the edge of his bed, the atmosphere easy between you. You started talking - about the case, about your lives, about nothing in particular. It felt good, like a weight lifting, just to talk to someone who got it. And to see your boss in a new light. At some point hunger struck, you suggested ordering room service, and soon enough, the two of you were sharing late-night snacks, the tension from the case dissolving into soft laughs and quiet conversations.

           Time passed, and before you realized it, you were both lying back on the bed, the conversation fading as exhaustion finally crept in. You weren’t sure who drifted off first, but when you woke up hours later, the sun just beginning to rise, you found yourself curled up beside Hotch, his arm loosely draped around you.

           It was peaceful. Safe.

           Neither of you said a word as you lay there, but the unspoken understanding between you said everything.

The Great 7 AU

Note: This is only general headcanons, I'm definitely writing more for this AU later

Since a young age, Yuu has had their parents (mostly Jafar and Grimhilde) teaching them how to act appropriately while also being taught fighting and magic. So, with that, Yuu would know how to keep a cool head in almost any situation, though it may be hard to keep a straight face with some of the seven’s comments.

Even though they have the power of the seven, they decide to play the role of the “magicless” prefect. I headcanon that, similarly to the actual game, the mirror said that Yuu didn't have magic since Yuu, by default, is just a random human and can't use magic without the seven’s aid. Though the mirror possibly hinted at The Great Seven being present, it was likely vague and quickly forgotten due to the absurdity of the situation.

Despite only arriving in this world from another, they’re incredibly knowledgeable about magic, potions, and even the history of this world. It's almost suspicious to the other students that some begin to think that their story of being from another world might be a lie even though they insist it isn't. Admittedly, though Yuu knows the history, they are still clueless about the laws and places of this word. Don't let them play geoguessr. They might die. Either that, or they’ll cry, then you have the Great 7 to deal with.

On the topic of the Great Seven, they don't have physical forms, only visible to Yuu and possibly other ghosts (Sam also probably knows due to the whole “friends on the other side” thing, but who knows). However, I believe they can still influence the world around Yuu through magic, even if only a little. An example may be that Yuu fell asleep on the couch after one of their nightly strolls with Malleus, and Maleficent draped a blanket over Yuu to keep them warm. Another is if Yuu is getting harassed by one of NRC’s bullies, one of the 7 pulls some horror movie shit and breaks the lights or starts throwing things: that or one of Maleficent's iconic storms.

Adding to what I said earlier about them acting, the idea of Great 7! Yuu snapping is terrifying. Even if they don't use magic or attack someone, it's still scary seeing that. The calm and collected persona falling, and you get to see their genuine emotions? Terrifying.

Just your average, cute, little “magicless” human acting all prim and proper, then displaying magical prowess that could surpass Malleus.

If I were those side character students, I’d leave, tbh.
