I really liked the way you characterized bez and pecco in your fic, and it got me thinking about the relationship between marc and the academy. And since you opened your asks, you me yapping about It's so weird because he is closer to them in age than he is in Valentino but by the virtue of his achievement he seem kind of unattainable to them. And obviously because of the rivalry, they don't really interact with him (except to pick a fight but that doesn't count). But then, he becomes pecco's teammate and, unless they put a wall in the ducati garage and factory, he will have to get to know him. And he realizes maybe Marc is not that bad (batshit insane maybe but not evil), and while marc is initially guarded around him, they do eventually get closer (and probably ropes the whole academy into becoming friends with him). Valentino may advise him against it but pecco is a grown man he knows what he's getting into.

Now I hesitate, whether this should be abo or not, but i think the secondary gender dynamics are very interesting (the idea of pack as a family or the whole non verbal communication through scent etc ), also it forces people that are trying to ignore their feelings for each other into situations they don't really like. Or maybe an au where you share a soulbound with people close to you.

My point is, at some point, marcnaia end up share that bound (whether romantic or platonic), and that pisses Vale so much, cuz secretly he thinks "that is my rival with whom i had a disastrous and very divorce, go find your own" (and pecco probably can feel that since they share a bound ), especially if he never got to build that kind of bound with marc and regrets it because maybe it would've saved them . (honestly it would be funnier if they are just friends but Rossi is just there in the background eyes twitching because he thinks there is something more). And Marc is like "what exactly is your problem" (beside the obvious),and either things get so weird they HAVE to talk about it (unlikely) or some catastrophe happens and vale has to get his shit together and maybe realize he fucked up concerning marc, but i am not too sure about how it would play out.

Anyway, just wanted to share this with you, maybe it would give you ideas. Side note: I love your writing, it's amazing. You really know how to balance between hurt and confort.

I defo think that for some of the academy, notably, Cele and Bez, there is still a very unattainable air to Marc. I mean, Marc is an 8-time world champion, after all. I think for luca, it is less of that due to his relationship with the brothers and being around when Marc and Vale were friends. Pecco is also a world champion, so Marc is a little less untouchable for him, but I defo think there's still that air around him because Marc really should be the God of the sport. Especially after Vale retired. But he's become a bit of a devil. Anyways so the academy defo see Marc as slightly apart, untouchable but dangerous etc etc

Now- pecco and marc!!!!!!! I want to write a fic about their friendship and vale being jealous! I actually have a draft on my laptop!

I defo think pecco is going to develop a bit of a soft spot for marc. Like, Marc is really just insane, especially about winning, lol. So they get close, and it kinda drags some of the academy into their friendship, too. Like bez begins to humanise him, luca already likes marc, but they get closer!! Cele is 100% hero worshipping which is hilarious and kinda sweet.

Okay, I really love abo and I think that could be so good, but I have a few other abo fics in the works, so maybe for this one, I wouldn't. But, that being said, I adore your ideas of both abo and soul bond au!!! I think there's so much that can be done with those AUs. I especially love the soul bond ideas or something similar. Keep an eye out for some abo AUs going forward though, there's a few coming!!!

In terms of jealousy- pecco and marc are definitely having a championship rivalry, but it's very professional and civil. They love battling each other on the track and being friendly off it. Vale is watching this like what the fuck and he keeps babbling to Pecco about mind games. Pecco has just reached the point where he roles his eyes and ignores it, humming every so often to make it seem like he's listening. Because he's an adult and Marc has been nothing but polite and civil. If they fuck up, they apologise to each other and move on.

Vale is watching all of the Ducati videos where Marc and Pecco are doing stupid things together and are laughing, and marc is looking at Pecco like he cares, and Pecco is clearly attracted to Marc (or Vale thinks so?) And excuse you, that's Valentino's rival and enemy. How dare Pecco be his friend, how dare he take marc away?

Pecco has no idea why Vale is suddenly acting so weird. Marc clicks on pretty quickly but thinks it's just that he hates the friendship him and pecco have formed, not that Valentino is jealous!

I'm not sure what would happen that would make them get their shit together. Probably alcohol involved, though, let's be real. Marc definitely gets his 9th title and Vale isn't as mad as he thought but he really needs Pecco to back off and oh? He's jealous???

I absolutely love the idea of marc hanging out with the academy without Valentino knowing too. Or maybe marc is invited to the ranch or something, and Vale just feels awkward and jealous watching his boys riding and joking with Marc fucking Marquez as if he's always been there and suddenly Vale can imagine marc always being there. Fitting in with their little family. And next thing he knows, he's imagining mornings with Marc, waking up and watching him in the early morning light because he's so beautiful and UGH. Anyways cue Valentino breakdown.

Cuz i do too! :D She's also an indie musical artist but it's like more of a hobbie than anything! (Even if it does helps with money and all! she also does haves some good amount of followers on the niche! Her background is nothing crazy but I made some silly changes, like aging up my irl brother (he's currently a lil baby and I made him a lil kid :3) and making me live with my grandma! (fucking love my grandma kisses grandma!!) Also some dramatic aah stuff like dead mom and no dad for me (the basics) 😭😭 My S/I has a strong special interest in space!!! Which is something I'm getting really into lately! So I made mommy an astronomer! She was like best friends with Wakaba (scientific nerds lol) and Sojiro so S/I was very close to Futaba since childhood for that reason!

She is a phantom thieve (shockerz) and uhm I wanted to use my personal experience as a bullied child growing up (mostly because of ableism) and turn that into motivation to make justice, since no one did that for me before!! He is her inspiration to get better, so she will get at his level one day! He also makes extra suggary cappuccino to her when she goes to Leblanc 🤝 ☕️

Ryuji Sakamoto

- Her relationship with him is pretty much the chaotic duo type, shes always giving him death stares when he starts to talk about girls or some dumb Ryuji shit like that 😭 Her and Morgana are constantly slandering him for the funzys, but Ryuji also likes to pick up on her so they're eternally on a war-- and in general they are two loud dumbasses who share the same braincells and have little silly banters 🤲 also HC that Luna helps him dye his hair 🫡

Ann Takamaki

- Her relationship with Ann is the girly besties type, constantly going out shopping, Ann usually helps her to buy her clothes since Luna definitely can't pick her clothes on her own without it looking weird 😭 they also go out allot to eat! Try the newest deserts all around Tokyo! Those two would probably kill for a chocolate cake. And they are getting progressively more poor because of that... She likes to paint Ann's nails and style her hair for fun! because she personally thinks Ann looks like a pretty porcelain doll!

Yusuke Kitagawa

- Her relationship with Yusuke is another of pure admiration!! Yusuke admire Luna for her artistic side on the music and Luna's eyes sparkle at every little sketch he does, I like to think that Luna (just like me) is an artist for fun who really has allot of trouble with drawing certain things that aren't fanart lol, and they go out on little panting sessions togheter. Like I dunno go to Inokashira Park to draw the scenario and his comes out like the next monalisa and hers is like... Blue and Green all mixed up togheter. And she probably got her clothes dirty in the process. He does encourages her to continue tho! And gives her tips that she usually doesn't get-- so uhm sensei Yusuke Ig?

Makoto Nijima

- Her relationship with Makoto is... *sighs* very sibling-like too. Luna isn't the best at school, and always cry for help when it's exams week 💔 Makoto usually scolds her for being too careless at everything, school, metaverse, crossing the road-- but only because she really cares about her. Luna is like the little sister she needs to lookout for so she doesn't get herself killed by accident. Oh fun fact but Luna is also very afraid of Sae (just like me im afraid of pretty woman) so yeah she freezes when she steps in the room 😭

Futaba Sakura

- Oh boooyyy Futaba time!! My relationship with Futaba is so silly and fun and I wanna yap about it!! Ok third person mode on--

So, since they were basically raised togheter, they are pretty close to one another, and have gathered the same types of interests through the years. Since I have the Autistic Futaba HC, I like to imagine that they get each other more than anything, engaging in parallel play most of the time when she was a shut-in. And I like to imagine that Luna was pretty much the only person she talked to at first after her Palace. Also HC that they play Pokemon United togheter. Cuz I said so. They exchange allot of gifts related to their special interests too! Ugh I have so many HC's for us but basically we are best friends forever two little chaotic autistic sillys but i help Futaba with her social anxiety! yipeee :3

Haru Okumura

- Her relationship with Haru is the tea time besties, they talk all day over a good cup of tea and Haru frequently gives her tips of how not make her plants die (very important, I never can make them live...) which is a hobby Luna really is trying to... make possible... (plz don't die this time) and generally her time yapping with Haru is a very comforting one, usually when shes feeling dramatic she goes and hugs Haru and makes her little drama, and Haru is usually the only one who's like "Oh dear :(" and stands her when she's being extra or cheers her up when shes actually sad too! 😭 shes such a sweetheart! <3 don't be mean with Mona and Luna! Haru is gonna politely ask you to stop. (Looking at you ryuji)

Morgana

- Her relationship with our favorite not cat! He's... Morgana. We know him. But Luna can be considered pretty much his #1 fan???? She thinks he's HELLA COOL like the best phantom thieve ever!! (I love morgana!!!) She really respects him and Morgana is really grateful to have someone that looks up to him (Luna looks up to lots of people! ><") Luna also likes to pat him. Allot. (IM A CAT PERSON OK) which well he doesn't mind but still he's not a kitty that you can just pat like that!!! (He's purring)

Sumire Yoshizawa

- Her relationship with Sumire is... damn, Luna is LOUD. And well we know that Sumi isn't exactly as extroverted as she makes herself seem when she takes on the Kasumi role. So uhm let's say Luna is overwhelming-- very overwhelming! 😭 She's always jumpy and bubbly and is constantly trying to cheer Sumire up, turning into some type of cheerleader for her when she starts to self-depreciate in any way, being overly affectionate and in general being extra EXTRA around her since she gets very worried about Sumire's mental health-- So yeah, Luna is basically constantly cheering her on and admiring her for being able to make things she can't (Even if Sumire doesn't think they're that great :< )... ooh we have another extreme admiration case here!!! Maybe the person she admires the most! Hell yeah! Give my girly some love!~ My bestie <3

Er... so... the thing is, Akechi constantly get dismissed through story for obvious reasons, he's openly agaisn't the Phantom Thieves and later they do have much MUCH more motives to not fuck with him-- but Luna? DAMN. That girl is I N V E S T E D In being friends with him. Specially on the start, his sob stories actually made her pity him and get all "aw he's miserable... 🥺" lol so she constantly insisted on being his friend, even tho he was internally screaming and trying to push her away, she was CONVICTED. SHES A FRIENDSHIP MACHINE BABY. YOU CAN'T ESCAPE HER!!

So with that forced proximity, they eventually started getting closer, and it was something very... slow? Definitely. Luna never cared about hiding herself no matter how weird people seemed to find her, maybe he would admire that... envy that? Who knows.

Suddenly he started to enjoy her company. Ghost Files Live - Clearwater

I went :) Various things made the situation kind of annoying for me but the actual show was super fun and I'm glad I went. So I just wanted to note what I can remember, mostly for my own records but also because I know other fans often like to hear about the events they can't attend.

So first, I guess they showed the episode but I missed half of it lmao. It was the final one of the season and it was very funny, but I truly think the audience atmosphere made it much funnier than it would otherwise be. After, the guys came out with Lizzie as the moderator.

- In reference to the ep, they had Shane act out a bidet (Shane Bidet, Ryan joked) and Ryan act out a "titilated KFC". While he was doing the KFC thing, Shane touched his shoulder and Ryan got creepy about it lmao. I think he was saying "Ooh you're touching me, the colonel likes that"?? - I can't remember how it came up but Shane said he does the show basically because he loves us, the audience, and also Ryan is his friend. Ryan was like "so you don't love me...because you said you love them-" and Shane joked how he's just a colleague/co-worker - Lizzie asked what ghost/spooky thing they would've liked to see outside the house they visited in the ep. Shane (I think) was like "let's say it at the same time" and they both said "GNOMES". Shane said he'd have liked to see them all stacked up on top of each other. I would love a compilation of all the times these two simultaneously gave the same answer to a question, just like this. Estes Method:

They did a little performance with the Estes thing. Apparently the theater we were in had a man die in it, so they tried to call out to him. Shane was the mouthpiece for the ghouls and Ryan was the asker - He asked the ghost to say his name and/or the name of the man who died. He was getting nothing after several tries, so used a new tactic - ask while pretending he doesn't care about the answer. He finally got a response, the name Logan (or Locan or smth). - He was asking Logan various things but what I remember is he asked what Logan thinks of the guy in the red light (Shane) to which "Logan" responded "love". So then Ryan asks what he thinks of Ryan - "lost" lmao. - At some point during the convo Shane/Logan says the name Elizabeth and Ryan was like whooaa and pointed to Lizzie who looked a little freaked out. I can't remember but I think at this point Shane/Logan mentioned food or doordash? So when it was over Lizzie said that maybe the ghost is mad they hadn't ordered dinner yet like they usually do lol. They had a portion where they showed evidence submitted by audience members and we voted for the best one. 1) A door opening on it's own after the submitter closed the door. The submitter was recording it cuz they were in the house with other friends who were all noticing the doors and lights opening/closing on their own. 2) The submitter referred to it as an orb but it looked more like a stream of smoke shooting through a hall and up the stairs on a cctv at some apartment. A figure appeared in the mirror as the stream moved. Even Shane was interested in this one. Okay Part 2! For some reason, i forgot to mention the new Gypsy casting with both girls in the Notebook as sisters! It's so exciting and I'm glad the cast is going into more shows since it's now closing, with John Cardoza going back to Moulin Rouge too. Interested to hear if Mama was Married now but I think all of the casting is good too with Danny Burstein as Herbie. They just announced Jordan Fisher in Urinetown too but I'm not really familiar with that show. But fun fact I have a book on my shelf with the play lol but I wanted to find a bootleg first I guess..idk lol. Are you familiar with it? Should I just listen to the cast album or wait for clips from Jordan Fisher and this cast?

If you want to know my ranking of bootlegs I watched for comparison, it would be Gatsby, Lempicka and then Gutenberg. However I missed the end of Gatsby, found Lempicka okay but somewhat hard to follow for some reason and dont remember many songs. Gutenberg didn't really have songs and a silly humor but I enjoy both actors a lot and think their humor together is great. However Book of Mormon is not really one of my favorites, so if you don't enjoy that, you probably wouldnt like this. It also took us days to watch but I think it picked up a lot in Act Two and got more bizarre and funnier. But it was also hard to follow since they kept switching characters and the plot isn't supposed to make sense anyway. I also didn't have a chance to listen to these cast albums yet or again besides Gatsby though. I also found a Merrily bootleg and I'm so excited to watch it but have to wait until I can be fully into it and not too tired I've also never listened to all of it except a few songs so I'm excited to see what I'll think of it and I'm a big fan of the revival cast. I've been into a Sondheim mood lately too and his shows always make me so emotional. So at some point I will listen to these along with the Merrily one when i watch it. I'm so excited cuz you love it so much as well!!! I also found Joy Woods and Jeremy in Little Shop that I might watch at some point..maybe closer to Halloween. It's such a different role from the Notebook too even voice wise so I do want to check it out at some point.

I did watch the Death Becomes Her movie last night and am now trying to imagine the upcoming musical. Have you watched it? I do think they are younger compared to the movie when age and looking younger is a big part of it. I also don't know how they would do some of the stunts or fake deaths so maybe they changed some stuff. But I liked it and think it has potential for a musical although I don't know what kind of music would work. Pop doesn't really make sense..idk. what do you think? I love Megan Hilty and think its great casting but that's basically all I know so far. Also the taste music video makes a bit more sense now lol.

I saw a few clips of performances the other day on Twitter and it just looks really fun and she put thought into some of the sets and transitions too but idk if you saw or want to be surprised. Juno would be sooo fun live. When's your show? I hope you have a great time! I tried and failed to get Zayn tickets for his SF show in a month but he has never toured so it sold out. Not sure if I will as the show gets closer since it's less than a month now. But I am planning to go to Wicked in the next few weeks if I can. After that is Hamilton and also Kimberly Akimbo and Some Like it Hot is in January. I wanna go to all of these but they're so close together and it depends if I can get rush tickets, but the other shows I haven't listened or seen at all which is why I wanted to go and it seems fun going in somewhat blind but we will see.

I'm hoping to get back into reading more. I'm excited for Sally Rooney's new book but I also never read Beautiful World so maybe I will read that too. How is it so far? I only read the synopsis once I think. Also I'm excited for Jandy Nelsons new book that just came out. I loved the snippet I read but not sure when I will read it. I will go back to reading I'll Give you the Sun at the same time probably so I am excited for that.

I was listening to all of Katy Perry's music before her album and then the new album. Unfortunately I did not like it as much but it's growing on me. It reminds me of Dua's album sort of if you liked that and go in not expecting much..but my sister loved it and now I'm just accepting it as it is. It is not as bad as people said in my opinion and pretty similar to her other albums. Anyway now Lady Gaga just released a short album with a few new songs and covers from the new Joker movie. I feel like it's perfect timing cuz I always pair them together and grew up with following their careers. This is not her new album though..apparently that's coming in February. I know it's not really a musical, more like a jukebox musical with more classic type songs which I don't mind. I did watch the first one anyway so I will probably watch it and she will make it better and also with the songs. I remember they played send in the clowns at the end of the first one so I hope it could be similar to that. I also loved her in Star is Born but this movie will show the more campy Gaga style but the songs are almost similar to her singing with Tony Bennett since they're classics. I'm just a fan of her though and like that she can sing different styles. I do really love her new song with Bruno Mars that almost reminds me of a Broadway duet with a classic type of sound so if it's like that, I'll enjoy it. I'm listening to it later today and can tell you what I think.

Also one of my favorite bands The Cure announced a new song and a album coming out the week after Soccer Mommy! Both of their music really saved me these last few years and it totally shocked me. Their new song is so good and you should give it a listen to see if you like it since it's the same as my favorite type of songs from them lol but they do have more upbeat songs too. If you like it, I recommend their album Disintegration or Wish for more upbeat stuff lol and any Soccer Mommy album. Anyway since you mentioned musical recommendations, I recommend The Violet Hour with Jeremy, Santino Fontana and Erika from Mean Girls. I listened to it after Gatsby and thought it went well. The title song is so beautiful. I hope you like it. I hope you're doing well and have a good weekend! I went to six flags last weekend and might go again in October. i'm so so excited for joy and jordan! i wasn't the most keen on jordan when i saw her in the notebook in chicago (saw an understudy — juliette (who i adored) but i've grown to like jordan more through listening to her on the cast recording. but joy... i cannot wait to see her shine. i'm so excited for joy woods world domination. i want her in everything. and i'm really excited for the new cast too, like anna zavelson who was in the recent NYCC piazza that i enjoyed, and i've heard benji santiago was delightful in the muny in the heights, and aisha jackson is deeply beloved too! i am also really intrigued to see who they'll cast for the tour. and i think john cardoza should play middle noah next (just because i want to hear him sing leave the light on, it's not easy, forever, etc.) but also really want him to do other things (would love him to be orpheus in hadestown, or guy in once, or ... so many other lovely roles). it's just been a while i've seen someone as talented and charming and charismatic and sweet.

i am not very familiar with urinetown! i know like two songs, but i've been meaning to check it out very soon — maybe that'll be my cast recording for next week and then we can discuss? 👀 i have no idea if i should hunt for a bootleg either but i've heard people are quite intrigued by the cast.

i haven't seen bootlegs of gatsby or gutenberg, but my friend who loves lempicka sat me down and had me watch it with her. i wasn't charmed by it. i do not particularly care for book of mormon (have never seen it live, but watched a bootleg back in the day, and have listened to the cast recording before) but they have done a wonderful job of casting talented people (a lot of whom i adore) over the years. i hope you love the merrily boot; this production of merrily is just phenomenal. i have not seen the joy/jeremy little shop boot but 👀 i have actually also never seen little shop 😭 you'll have to let me know what you think of it!

12-year-old brother played through 999 recently. some notes on the experience

* he picked it up because we were both bored as fuck and 999 was one of like 3 games I had on my phone. for a while initially he had to borrow my phone (up until he got his first ending/I was able to set up retroarch on some lucky-not-to-be-ewaste laptop). which I would class as an 'ipad kid arrangement'

* he had some vague awareness of the funyarinpa going in so whenever it showed up ingame we shouted FUNYARINPA!!! FUNYARINPA!!! back and forth

* "this game is yap central. I mean I guess it's interesting, but like..." - quote from his first go at door 4

* after safe end (but before true end kicked in) he guessed akane might be zero. when asked to elaborate he replied "cuz zero's been with you the whole time... otherwise it doesn't make sense". his more confident guess around this time was santa (naturally)

* he didn't like clover very much I think. said clover was mostly kinda stupid which corroborates my thought about clover just not having a lot to do in VLR moreso than being flanderized into stupidity

* ending order was coffin (per my recommendation) -> sub -> axe -> knife -> safe -> true. I tend towards coffin as the first ending because it's what hooked me and the setup/payoff with the morphogenetic field is good and makes the plot make more sense but he thought it was a "boring" end & only really got excited once he got sub end... I guess if I ever get anyone else to play this game I'll recommend sub end first. also I was like "hmm you can maybe skip knife cus you don't learn anything that doesn't come up in other routes" but he wanted to see everything so he went ahead and I think it paid off. there are some interesting discrepancies in door 8 & door 6 if you pick door 4 first, and apparently the "red/white/black santa" rant is knife end-exclusive? I'd forgotten about that

* related to the last bullet point he was pretty insistent on taking it slow and rereading dialogue, for the most part. when he was en route to safe end he ffw'ed through a bunch of repeat dialogue but that was about it

* favorite escape room was door 7, he liked the puzzle where you add up the atoms in each compound listed

* I did not get to watch his live reaction to the elevator scene. but at one point he approached me and said "ummm... if you say 'she was afraid of being locked up with a boy' you get some weird dialogue". which is imo funnier

* he MIGHT play VLR. he's about an hour in now and he hasn't been nearly as into it as he was with 999 partially because VLR's opening act is vastly less intriguing than 999's but also just because he has more stuff to do now. like watching bluey and playing fortnite. I guess

also we're using the same dogshit laptop to play VLR and it only barely runs the PC port. you have to crank the resolution down if you don't want the game to lag and the CPU to run crazy hot when ~3 or more models are on screen at once, lol. maybe I'll drop the pretense and just replay VLR on my own...

Randy has an interest in the performing arts! Specifically theatre, but he also dabbles in close up magic tricks (his last name is a pun on Hat Trick after all lmao).

Randy’s character was inspired by Swiper from Dora the Explorer and Pete in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. They both tend to play antagonistic, even villainous roles, but aren’t actually evil, and will actually help the main characters out every so often. Though, in Randy’s case, it takes him a bit to get to that point.

CatNap is the only one of the critters that Randy never really becomes friends with. They might have moments of mutual understanding, but in general, the best they get to is being willing to work together towards a common goal. Like, if someone was being mean to their friend, they’d work together to beat the shit out of that guy.

Randy’s favorite food is pasta. It’s also the only food he knows how to cook, for some reason.

Randy is very genre savvy. If he recognizes a common trope in a situation he’ll lampshade the hell out of it.

Clever has a tendency to refer to people by their last name instead of their first name, out of a desire to seem more “proper.” The closer she is to someone, the more likely she is to call them by their first name.

Goby struggled with walking when he first arrived on land. Even after learning to walk, he’s still very clumsy, often tripping over nothing. He’s much more nimble underwater.

you blink slowly and press your lips together, quietly contemplating his words. you do have a tendency to stay in your head, preferring to keep certain thoughts and opinions to yourself — a troubling habit you picked up over the years out of necessity — although, with him you’re much more willingly to share. law commands that sort of honesty, and you give it freely; much to the chagrin of a particular member of your crew. one who insists on inserting himself in your life whenever possible.

a question floats around his mouth, one that he’s been toying with for a few days now; it slides down his tongue, heavy with implication. he knows that if he asks it now, you might not be able to look at him the same way, so he’s careful with which words he handpicks, and as he readies himself, a hand grips his shoulder from behind.

really, law should blame you for distracting him, for dulling his senses — for always making him feel more relaxed than he normally feels — but he knows that this time it’s his fault. since he intentionally sought you out tonight, when he knew — or, he thought he knew, anyway — that everyone else would be asleep.

leave it to sanji to always defy his expectations.

the sigh he lets out is one built out of frustration and equal parts annoyance. “what is it now?” a clipped response from the captain of the heart pirates, one that sanji does not appreciate one bit.

“excuse you, but what are you doing with y/n this late at night?”

you pinch the space above the bridge of your nose, close your eyes, and count to ten slowly. maybe this is all a terrible, terrible dream. but, as their voices elevate, as sanji keeps insisting that law is somehow trying to corrupt you — for the umpteenth time since the sunny left punk hazard — your tolerance diminishes. law barely hears a word sanji says, even though the latter gets in his face and restarts the same argument they were having before dinner.

“sanji,” you call out sternly, your voice carrying his name forcefully in the air, prompting the curly-browed cook to look over at you. his eyes widen a bit at the severity in your tone.

“i’m only looking out for you.” it’s the dejected look that seals the deal for you. it’s possible you’re much too soft-hearted to be a pirate, but you tug on sanji’s arm and half-drag him away from law. sanji is sputtering nonsense about how law is actually more devious than you realize, how there’s something off about the way he always manages to get you alone — and you listen, or you try to, but you can’t help but feel that sanji’s overprotectiveness is misguided in this instance.

and, no matter how many times you try to convince him otherwise, sanji won’t budge on his position.

it’s not like law can stop the cook from acting that way towards you; from what he’s gathered, you’re a runaway that found a home with the straw hats. your devil fruit power is fascinating, as are your medical skills — and as a surgeon, he’s impressed with your ingenuity — but he’d be lying if he admitted to those being the only reasons why he’s interested in you.

just like you, he has a tendency to keep things to himself; this, he tells himself later on, is an absolute necessity. one that he needs in order to safely navigate the mysteries surrounding your existence.

what initially starts as awkward, tense moments, quickly morphs into relaxed conversations, prolonged glances, and inside jokes. it’s a surprise, really; law isn’t the sort to easily let his walls down without putting up a fight, but you make it easy. it would be suspicious if he was being smarter about things; but he’s not, unfortunately.

during this time, his relationship with sanji takes a turn for the worse; to the point that the other members of your crew take notice and try to break them up whenever possible. it’s always the same argument, one that you’ve memorized and spit back at sanji in retaliation.

“you’re not listening, he’s a despicable man, y/n, really!” sanji’s concern does come off as genuine, even as he pulls out another cigarette to smoke, his agitation eating up any residual tranquility lingering in his body.

“uh huh,” you say, flipping through a dense textbook, the font small but legible. “you’ve yet to give me a reason, big brother.” you smile to yourself when sanji huffs and focuses on smoking for a moment. he loves pulling the surrogate, self-proclaimed older brother card at his leisure, but when you do it, it’s a problem.

not that he means anything by it; sanji is quite fond of you, in a way that he isn’t with the others. when you first join the straw hats, he recognized the grief that you carried on your shoulders — it mirrored his, in a way. so he sort of adopted you; it’s a sweet gesture that you’ve always appreciated. after leaving home, you miss having a family — and he cherishes you in a way your parents never did. 

that warmth will never leave you, no matter how much time passes.

after his third drink, sanji points a finger at law accusingly. “you’re ill-bred,” he declares, cheeks flushed as he narrows his eyes at the pirate in question. he promised earlier to not start any trouble, but that all went out the window when he saw the two of you together — laughing, smiling, fingers touching more than necessary.

all he can think about is how he can’t fathom the idea that you might actually like law — and that the feelings might also be reciprocated.

law, having foreseen this conversation, but not doing a damned thing to prevent it from occurring, simply asks, “don’t you get tired of saying that?” because he certainly is. it’s not unusual for someone to be overprotective of their younger sibling, however you are also a functioning adult that is more than capable of making decisions for herself. no matter the consequence.

“i’ll say it as many damn times as i need to.”

the argument is a circular one, but because law’s in a good mood, he entertains it. “you’re being ridiculous.” the amount of energy the blond pirate puts into defending your honor is absurd, and has law pouring himself another drink.

“i’m warning you,” sanji jabs a finger against law’s chest, “i’ll kill you before you hurt her.”

at that, law snaps. “what the hell is your problem? i’m not trying to kill her.” if anything, law would reason that you’re the one killing him. he’s never been this enamored with someone before, so the uncomfortable, awkward feelings that swarm through him routinely are enough to scramble his thoughts. which only makes him more susceptible to sanji’s bullshit.

with narrowed eyes, sanji frowns deeply. “i don’t believe you,” he pauses when he catches you watching them from across the room, so he lowers his voice, “and one day y/n will see right through you, too.” he’d make sure of it. 

while sanji busies himself with plotting against the allied pirate captain, you busy yourself with prying answers out of law. it’s not that he wants to keep things from you, but he doesn’t think confronting sanji will solve a thing. still, it’d be unfair if he kept you completely in the dark, so he feeds you bits of the conversation, enough that you get the picture. it’s not your fault, you know that, but you apologize to law anyway, and decide to talk to sanji again in the morning. maybe after the festivities are over, he’ll regain some of his common sense.

Since you recently finished watching it, how would you improve class of titans?

WELL I think the show suffered really badly from having to stick to the status quo. Things couldn't significantly or noticably change til the end of the series which really doesn't work for a show like this - like, I'm still confused about what happened with Cronus in the middle of season 2. They captured him but then no they didn't and he's out? I felt like I'd missed an episode or two somewhere lol

So overall writing a coherent story for the show to follow would've been nice. Also more consistency on how the Gods are portrayed. I liked Theresa's anger in the finale but it came out of nowhere, it would've been really easy to build up to it. Everytime they have to fight a gods battle because of a terrible thing the gods did in the past, they should be upset about it, y'know? Who wants to fight someone else's battles.

Also I love that they had fun with the gods but I'm disappointed that they gave Zeus and Hera a cutesy romantic moment near the end. In the Christmas ep maybe? Anyway Hera should hate his cheating ass it's funnier for me

Cronus is a fun villain but what made me like him so much at the beginning was that he was charming and polite lol later on in the show he got meaner and maybe that's intentional but it just felt like they lost track of his personality

(which reminds me - the ep where everyone except Neil got amnesia? Probably the best ep of S2. I would've made that a double ep and continued the amnesia shenanigans for an excessively long time)

I would also redesign a lot of characters. Whoever did the character designs for this show seems to think all the Greek gods and their descendents have red hair. Like. There's less than 10 dark haired characters in the show, and I'm including every side character. That's stupid. The obsession with making everyone redheads or blondes is annoying.

Romance-wise, I think Jay and Theresa are fine but they could've had some more fun stories. I also sometimes felt like they were already dating and sometimes it seemed like she just had a one sided crush on him?

Archie and Atlanta were a nightmare ship for me. Everything I hate in a ship thrown together into a ball of bad writing. In the first ep where they talk about his crush, I 100% thought it was gonna stay one sided and Atlanta would be Without A Man since that's how shows portrayed lesbians back then lol (one of the characters said something like 'i don't think any guy has a chance with Atlanta' so I was hoping it'd be like the lesbian from Fred's Head) but noooo. Goddddddd they were so painful to watch. I would've gotten rid of that 'romance' and let Atlanta be gay (also Neil, though based on his midas touch ep I think it's possible that the writers were headed that way).

Archie as a whole needed an attitude adjustment. At first he was interesting and then they just had him get in fights with everyone on the team. Like...why is he in conflict with every single character? Maybe there should be an ep exploring his anger issues instead of making fun of his fear of water all the time. I think he suffered from Status Quo stuff cuz he could've been an interesting character. Nothing wrong with the angry guy who doesn’t trust anyone but his characterization was so inconsistent it was hard to keep up

That being said, a lot of the characters were inconsistent. Neil and Jay were the most consistent (except for Neil randomly bullying Odie in that S2 ep with the sphinx, i don’t remember Neil being a huge awful bully in any other ep?) but everyone else would occasionally just be all over the place. I think this is definitely due to the Status Quo problem...most of the problems in the show can be tied to the inability to develop your characters properly. 

Also back to character designs: there's no reason why Odie had to be the only character of color in the main cast. We're going back thousands of years and you're telling me only one of these kids ancestors ever had a baby with someone who wasn't white? Bad. Dumb. Also it's lame that none of the kids were Greek immigrants imo I know Jays mom is but why couldn't Jay be an immigrant too? Give him a lil accent and have him be fluent in Greek. Obv it’s not necessary but I think it would've been nice.

Okay I'm getting off track but that covers a lot of stuff I'd change. I really did enjoy S1 of the show and I felt like it had a lot of promise but then it just fell off the wagon. S2 had a lot of episodes that I struggled to get through 😔

So something u might not know about me is that I'm very passionate about height difference and get unreasonably angry whenever it's drawn incorrectly (even tho I don't draw it correctly either lol). I also regularly look at the galactik football species cuz i think they r very cool and interesting and something i realized is that the shadow natives are apparently 3 METRES TALL. 300CM. DO YOU KNOW HOW TALL THAT IS?? And more importantly…do u know how funny i found it after i realized sinedd is in the same team as them?

So here we have how the shadows are usually drawn in comparison to humans which isnt correct (according to the wiki Sinedd is 185cm or 6'1 which would make the shadow drawn here around 213cm or 7' which, don't get me wrong,is still really tall,taller than most humans on the planet but it is NOWHERE CLOSE to 3m). Now,i get why they did this,it would probably be hard to draw the actual height difference and maybe they decided it was 3m AFTER they already started drawing them like this

But then i got the idea to compare the actual heights and…omg

LOOK AT HOW TINY SINEDD IS (also please ignore how crudely i drew him it's just for comparisons sake). He looks like a little kid😭. This is so funny to me. You know those shots during matches where the shadows are staring and walking menacingly towards the camera? Can u imagine how funny that would be with the actual height difference?(if i could edit,i would)

Also look at this from the perspective of the shadows for a moment, you have a new coach and you're looking for a new striker. Suddenly your coach Artegor brings in this little kid sized ball of spite and abandonment issues and goes "yea this is ur new striker,be nice" and you just have to go "yeah ok sure coach :)))" when on the inside you're probably going "what the fuck what the fuck what the fuuuck" cuz this little shit apparently just abandoned his old team and doesn't even know how to use the smog yet

I think it's even funnier from Sinedd's perspective,cuz while sinedd has obviously seen the shadows on tv,i doubt he's met one in person before since he grew up on akillian and no one wants to go to akillian if they didn't grow up there. So he just left his old team on a whim to go with this shady ass man to a new team who he's never met before,goes to their planet and meets them and he has to literally LOOK UP to meet their eyes, which i imagine is kind of intimidating and his new coach Artegor just goes "yea this is ur new team,be nice" and he has to go "yeah ok coach :)))👍" and he is just questioning his life choices on the inside.

Also,to put the shadows' height into perspective, they are 9'10. The tallest human ever was 8'11. The tallest current living man is 8'2 and the tallest living woman is 7'. So yeah the shadows are kinda intimidating,,

Also here's a doodle of Sinedd getting teased about his height because i like to imagine (at least from what we've seen in the series) that he and the shadows became friends (i mean,i imagine you'd have to be friendly if you constantly train and play together with someone)
