sleepover weekend! chenford headcanons: pre-relationship, angst era, established relationship, break up, and a future one ♡
ooooh okay this is making my mind run wild!!
pre-relationship: lucy somehow rigs the shop radio (not their comms radio but their music station radio) to only play sir mix-a-lot, and tim tries his hardest to switch the channel or turn it off but it doesn’t work and he’s stuck with it the whole afternoon as payback after some particularly brutal tim test
angst era: one of them ABSOLUTELY says the other’s name during sex with their s/o (chris or ashley) at some point, I just can’t decide who I’d prefer it to be. the part of me that hates chris wants it to be lucy but I think realistically it would be tim because he somehow ends up being the messier one of the relationship. either way, it thankfully goes unnoticed by their partner but it’s like… enough to make them a bit sad and a bit freaked out
established relationship: tim has met lucy’s parents and they hate tim. tim actually stands up for lucy real good at one point and this doesn’t impress her father but it does impress her mother because a lot of tim’s rant to them is about letting lucy be free to make her own choices and lucy’s mom felt too restricted by lucy’s father and so seeing him actively advocate for her is like oh ok so maybe my therapy talk did work and my daughter can have a relationship where she’s seen and isn’t bored or neglected or controlled. maybe I did raise her right in this regard kind of thing. and so she slips tim a few recipes on the way out which is a big deal for her and lucy knows then that she fully approves.
breakup: tim has to put kojo on anxiety meds after the breakup because he keeps whining for lucy in the middle of the night and both of the boys struggle with sleep for a rough few weeks
future: I have so many for these tbh, like lucy gets tim’s name tattooed in mandarin on her inner thigh when they get back together (and yes I’m writing a fic about this), when they buy a house and move in together they make a studio above the garage in case tamara ever visits or needs a place to stay, they have a really hard time conceiving at first when they do eventually want kids and see a fertility specialist and it’s like a real rough patch, but also my happier headcanon for that is that once she does get pregnant you’d think they’d cool it on the sex after having to try so hard but NOPE the sex somehow gets hotter and more frequent, like pregnant lucy makes tim horny 100%

a quick message
hi, i wanted to bring something up real quick. i got a message in my inbox a few days ago that made me pretty uncomfortable, too uncomfortable to answer it in public, but i still wanted to say something after giving it some thought
regarding IMLY
i am pro choice. i always have been. and in no way shape or form did i want this fic to be some sort of pro-life symbol because that's not who i am. i am pro choice which means i believe that women have the right to decide what to do with their own bodies. if a woman wants to have her tubes tied, get an abortion, or get a hysterectomy, then that is HER decision. if a woman decides she wants to be child free, that is HER decision. and i am a huge advocate for that. being pro choice coincides with my feelings on adequate access to reproductive healthcare and education for women. these things go hand-in-hand to me.
i also wanted to bring up the subject of natural birth real quick. i do not think c-sections are "cheating." a c-section birth is just as much a birth as a "natural" (vaginal) one.
this fic is the ideal for ME, not the standard. i understand that most twins are born via c-section, and i understand that some women decide not to have children after undergoing miscarriages. these are all things that fall under the pro choice mindset. this fic came from a personal place for ME, and i just happened to share it on the internet
if i was put into the situation where my fertility treatment led me to having twins and the best course of action was a c-section, then i would chose the c-section, but that wouldn't be MY first choice. for some women, that IS their first choice. for some women, a vaginal birth is their ONLY choice. do you see what i'm getting at here?
also, im bisexual. i do not think that heterosexual marriages and families are the Societal Standard. lesbian women can have babies. gay men can have babies. trans men can have babies. no matter how one goes about having a child, it is POSSIBLE. if you have a uterus and the capacity to get pregnant, it is your body and your choice and your life to live.
im honestly a bit heartbroken. again, i'm not going to post this ask because it made me extremely uncomfortable, but i want to make all of this very, very clear, and i am very sorry if this fic left anyone with a sour taste. that wasn't my intention.
additionally, i am sorry about my silence as of late. i have been working frequent and long hours at my job and have switched back to drawing more frequently rather than writing, but i have been working on EVERY request that i have gotten since turning off my inbox asks. i haven't forgotten about any of them (i literally have them written down in multiple places to remind me). i've said it before, writing is not my full-time priority. it's a hobby, and the only reason it was more frequent throughout march, april, and may was because i was going through extreme art block. a part of me wishes i didn't open requests because i have a guilty conscious and operate like im running a drive-thru (which is also what i do for work tbh), but people have been super sweet and trusting me with your stories is an honor, and i PROMISE i have not forgotten about them
sorry about this long-winded post out of nowhere
take care, and i'll be back soon. i promise

more thoughts on getting screened for autism
I see my psychiatrist next Monday and my therapist next Wednesday, and I want to ask either or both about the process for getting screened. But I've read stories about mental health professionals outright refusing to help someone get screened. They either don't believe their patient is autistic because of X reasons, they think they know better, or don't believe it should matter in the first place. I don't know how to qualify for a screening, tbh. I don't know how it works. Does my insurance even cover it? I'm worried I'm going to have to work really hard to explain myself and my case for getting screened, and I'm going to fuck it up so badly. I'm notoriously TERRIBLE at advocating for myself, and I back down pretty quickly from arguments about myself because I can never find the words to say and I get too emotional. I'm going to stumble on words and my hands are going to shake and my throat is going to close up while I try to read aloud from my Notes app. I'm SO scared I'm going to be denied right from the beginning. I'm going to be told I don't "look" or "act" autistic and that everything I'm describing is because of depression and anxiety. I don't know where to turn if my psychiatrist and therapist deny me. Do I try my primary care doc who knows next to nothing about me beyond my physical health? All three of them are women, so I'm really hoping at least one of them will understand what I'm going through trying to get screened.
I truly just want to know. Even if the screening says I'm not autistic, I am desperately searching for answers about myself right now and I feel like it would help me either way. I've been thinking about this almost every day, and have been dipping my toes into the community. It's been helpful, but I don't know if a self-diagnosis is right for me.
Meanwhile my burnout is not getting any better, and I'm almost certain it was triggered by Zuko's emergency and recovery. Just like all the weeks since that happened, I did exactly zero relaxing things/hobbies/entertainment while on vacation last week. I could not focus. I could not relax. I could barely switch my brain on to go for a walk. I was pretty dang miserable and probably shouldn't have wasted the PTO days honestly.
Anyway, I'm going to write something concise in my Notes app to list off to my psychiatrist on Monday.

It’s sad seeing all the upsurge of hate CK6 is getting along with Johnny but tbh, I feel like it’s deserved. Daniel deserved better, so much better. I’ll die standing on that hill. I’m still watching it since I’ve watched everything else KK and CK, but I doubt I’ll like it. I’m honestly here for whatever Silverusso crumbs I can gather, if any, since I don’t care about anyone else. Oh well. I’ve been brutally disappointed in other shows and book series before, so this’ll just be another brutal disappointment. I’m sorry I invested several years of my life into this series. Daniel will always be special to me, and I do love Terry, Robby, and Sam too. Johnny and Kreese can both suck it. Well, at least there’s fanfic.
The first two seasons were good. Flawed, very much through the male gaze, but good. And then the third season showed these men's true colours: no. We're not going to take any responsibility. Johnny's is not going to grow at all. We're going to show Robby the right way of aggression in Juvie. Robby almost bested Miguel, who is some sort of karate prodigy, and we've seen Daniel get the better of several grown thugs using Miyagi-Do, but we're going to make it that, without any character motivation, Robby can't hold his own in Juvie. Against untrained kids. Because he has to learn to strike first.
Why S3 still grabbed me was that they'd promised a dark side about Daniel and Ralph delivered an in canon, in character reason: Daniel has always had a murder switch. As early as his first All Valley. And then they brought it out in CK. It was always there and you don't have to assassinate his character for it. Daniel could kill a man, with enough motivation. Isn't that what we wanted, Cobra Kai? And then Terry. OMG, what brilliance. Thomas and Ralph wrote Silverusso together and I am sure that Thomas sat these boys down and said: "You can't write Terry for shit. You will take my notes. No, I didn't stutter. I am a better tv writer than you." But Johnny also deserves better. They've erased his entire arc. If they'd wanted to tell the story of a Johnny who'd literally had the growth choked out of him by Kreese, that too would have been a brilliant story. A Johnny who was so drawn to Daniel because he represented Johnny's own good side he could no longer access. A Daniel that would have told him: Kreese is a monster and he hurt you. And he'd know because he himself had been deeply hurt by being taught Cobra Kai. He wouldn't say that to Johnny because that would be too vulnerable. But the seeds were there, it's a story they could have told, and Johnny's moment to shine could have been realising how terrible Cobra Kai was by witnessing Daniel's reaction to Terry after having seen what a positive impact Daniel had had on Robby. But they didn't go there. Their message was always that there is nothing wrong with Johnny, he never needed to grow up and their character assassination of Daniel was not due to incompetence - they just don't get him - but design. They do get him. They hate him. And now they're coming for Miyagi who they hate even more. And Ralph can play so much without words, mitigate the damage, advocate for Daniel. Billy and Marty advocated for Johnny. But Pat cannot defend Miyagi anymore. They're coming for him to rescue their own ego. Simply because these little boys in a grown man's body cannot accept that Johnny Lawrence and what he stood for was wrong, and the fact that Johnny is an interesting and ultimately good character is that when it really mattered, when it really utterly mattered, he understood that his sensei was wrong, that Bobby was right (something we subconsciously see in him naming his son after him - CK didn't do everything wrong) and that Daniel's victory was deserved. "You're alright, LaRusso!"
That is what made Johnny compelling. That is the first thing these writers came for. Don't blame Johnny. His character assassination was even worse than Daniel's. And Billy fought it. We know he fought it. We have the gag reels to show for it. And now they got him, and they got Daniel, and they're coming for Miyagi because like Kreese, they could never grapple with the simple truth that Johnny learnt: bullying is wrong and another way is possible. They're so hurt by a film that showed them they were being assholes that they have to destroy it. Because they can't do what Johnny did. Admit they were wrong. They have to kill a whole franchise that brought comfort to literally millions of people, because they need to kill the message that kindness is possible. Poison it, rather than admit to themselves they are wrong, and maybe stop being an asshole? It's never too late. But no!! Daniel made me feel bad!!! He has to be destroyed!!!!
Honestly they would have made Dutch the ultimate reformed tough guy if the actor had returned. Probably made him unearth the evidence of Miyagi stealing that medal of honor by beating Daniel in a fight.
And they're not even trying to hide it anymore. They are openly attacking the legacy of a dead man. Pat's most beloved character. Pat wasn't Miyagi, he certainly wasn't faultless, but he gifted the world something and they're coming for him to soothe their egos. Billy and Ralph had the chance to walk away. Not the obligation, but the chance. They haven't, maybe they can't for contractual reasons. But Pat has no choice, no influence, and they're coming for his legacy.
That's straight up evil. And they're boasting about it in print!

aurrr i spent the whole day thinking u ignored my ask or hadn’t gotten to it yet, but turns out it didn’t show up in my feed…hate this app fr 🙄 but yes yes i love infidelity, love triangles, and just any type of angst with another love interest. my irls who read books and all say they hate books with “the other woman” plot because the guy should be so obsessed he doesn’t look at anyone else. they also hate cheating. i get it, irl if a man cheats on you, DUMP HIS ASS!! 🗣️ BUT if it’s in books, i eat up that angst. if i don’t feel the angst in my stomach i don’t want it. can’t wait for the fic!!!
anyways hard thoughts about jay before i study for the next 4 hours 💔:
(also forgive me ik we see him as a switch on this blog but i am an advocate of the dom jay agenda)
(these are also not super crazy. i’m sorry if you wanted something more feral)
- him constantly buying you lingerie for you to model for him. he sits back in his chair, manspread as you do a little twirl for him in the matching black lace set he got you. when he really likes a set he will have you wear it again and fuck you in it. and that’s where those polaroids in his wallet come from 🫢
- he sets up a cute picnic being the romantic guy he is but it’s not very cute when all of a sudden you’re riding him on the blanket, his hand covering your mouth so no one hears. he treats being caught as a literal joke.
- sugar daddy jay who’s the head of some big company and keeps you pushed up against the window of his office, fucking into you from behind everytime you visit. let’s just say you try to see him at the office at least 2-3 times a week.
-💗
oh oh oh, you may have misread me. When i write infidelity fics, you're not the one being cheated on usually. You're the one cheating tho, because if there's anything better than one possessive man, it's two possessive men.
I would never in my life condone cheating in real life, but in fantasy? I can have whatever i want and if i wanna date jake, then notice his hot taller friend sunghoon eyeing me, imma date him too, and then if i notice jay in the corner with a boner? bam, third boyfriend idc.
also, u misread me again possibly. i don't think u know how rare it is for me to write men as dominant, or to see them as switches considering i prefer to be the more dominant party lol, i 100% see jay as someone who can and will take control. me seeing him as a switch is just like, a base level feeling. i just don't like to be dominated by men that pretty tbh (but im lying, i do like it and that's why I'm writing more of that here)
the second thought sticks with me more than the others tho. public sex bc either you or him are too desperate to wait? mannnnn, even better if you're poking, pushing his buttons, trying to tease him and be a brat because you know he won't fuck you right there, on the blanket in the park.
and by the point he's actually pissed, you freeze when he's like "what, you think I won't?" all while pulling you into his lap, pulling it out, stuffing you full, and holding your mouth. "you really thought I wouldn't, didn't you?"
>:D
#ask#💗 anon#i like ur asks so i will always answer them when i have the time and energy !#.hard hours#.jay#hardthots

not to play devils advocate but joji hatedddd his fans for years both before and after quitting ff (and i don’t blame him tbh), its only recently (last 2ish years) that hes been letting himself be funny and acknowledging pink guy. it’s like him and ian switched in the worst way where ian always ends up worse
no i agree, you're definitely right. i think it speaks much more to the way the two of them diverged and how they've matured over the years. it was kind of crucial for george to break away from the cancer that had seeped through his fanbase, but he is finally returning and calling back to something that people loved and really resonated with, because a lot of people who still support him didn't just see him as a fad and a weapon to use to be painfully retarded online. and i think he definitely knows that now. people who connected with his comedy and commentary for what it was and didn't mistake it for the very thing it was attempted to criticize are important to him i think. it was really frustrating to listen to some earlier music (i think of no fun and why am i still in la pretty often) and how it kind of felt like a massive middle finger, but, like you and i are saying, things have changed. and for the better!!
on the flipside, ian hasn't matured at all. he's still a sniveling smug coward who makes shitty lame jokes and hides behind big culturally relevant words and uses people for profit and personal gain. he can no longer use subversive or offensive language as a crutch because he's too scared to lose any and all relevance, so he has to chase trends like youtuber boxing and do washed-out buzzfeed-tier commentary videos. but in order to integrate himself into those publicly liberal spaces, he has to appear Kind and Respectful and Socially Aware. he's a snake. i would love for him to actually, genuinely grow up and maybe just get off the internet or something because it would probably improve his life tremendously, but i can't ever see that happening. working for a living is hard!
#ballads 1 is still an incredible album and i listen to it all the time#but no fun is like. a major skip for me#i know it's not literal because most of his work isn't but it Feels too on the nose#ccposting#bunnyaskz

can i just say right off the bat that i’m so appreciative of your posting pace??? this is by no means trying to pressure u into writing faster or anything, i just love to know that u are excited about writing this as much as we are excited to read it!!
him calling her his wife was just him manifesting in my opinion hahaha, but it was a really cute moment. i was surprised that she invited him to bed with her and that she made so many moves?? she has been really disciplined and stubborn until now, so this all was kinda new lol. i can comprehend why, but idk i don’t like seeing my girl acting desperate. maybe he fucked her up so bad that she can’t help herself anymore 🥺
i guess there’s gonna be a love triangle between him and kai?? i don’t think that kai is that bad tbh, i mean he’s obviously not gojo but he hasn’t been an asshole yet. him telling her to rethink her career choices is understandable and realistic, and if she gets a better camera because of him then all is good 🫱🏼🫲🏾 i just hope that gojo doesn’t get jealous again when he sees then together and starts acting like a dickhead, i feel like that would be so hurtful, like you don’t want to be with me but you can’t let me build a relationship with anyone else either?? him realizing and confessing his feelings not out of jealousy would be more impactful in my opinion, but i don’t know anything lolz so even if u want to write it like that i’m sure u would make it make sense
are there going to be some chapters where they’re together and in love or is it going to be pull and push the whole time? btw i can’t wait for his point of view
thank u so much for writing and sharing it with us 💞
hi deaaaar thank you i was enjoying the time i had to write for the past month bc im actually gonna be a lot more busy the next few months 😅🤣 i still AM very excited ab writing it and bringing the story to you all though 🫶🏼💕 and thank you sm for this ask!!
yes! i totally hear ya, reader in ch6&7 and just in general has been really strong in setting boundaries and advocating for herself, so her behavior in ch8 was a switch-up for sure. i know a lot of my readers were expecting gojo to chase after her following ch7, but i had the opposite planned for ch8 since the beginning LOL so it was a bit nerve-racking to release but i really wanted to include that scene because while i'd like to continue to write her as a strong character, i think moments of weakness especially for matters of the heart are unavoidable at times and i wanted to include that aspect of heartbreak. i imagine it was just the intimacy of the situation that got to her. you’re totally right though, i think she’s in it a bit deeper w her feelings w gojo than she had originally thought :(
thank you for sharing your take on kai’s character i see a lot of split opinions so far which is nice, i was hoping to come off ambiguous w him! and yes, very nuanced take there, i think gojo is more of an idealist when it comes to reader’s career goals while kai is more of a realist, and i don’t necessarily think there’s fault in either of those approaches.
and very interestingg 👀 i think you’ll have that take answered/addressed in ch9, but i’ll say for sure that i agree w you! jealous dickhead gojo isn’t really on my radar to write anymore either, since ch7 he’s had a bit of emotional growth in dealing w how he acts w reader. haha that’s all i’ll say without spoiling anything
and there’s only four chapters left for the story, but once again to not spoil much, the last two are very fluffy! we’re just in the angst era rn
i’m glad you’re looking forward to more and thank you for sharing your opinions n engaging w the chapter i rly appreciate it 💕

I'm maybe a bit late to the party, but I do think there's been some important American-specific context missing from the larger conversation about the Taylor Swift and Matty Healy stuff, and the fan response to it. I'm not saying the context changes the larger discussion about what politics is and what people should be trying to do, but I think it does have explanatory value for what people are thinking about, what references they might have in their head.
First, I think there are two distinct issues that have been unfortunately blurred by the broader discourse, largely because of an accident of timing. Matty Healy first appeared at Taylor's concerts in Nashville, seemingly confirming the relationship that had been reported in the tabloids (because they'd also said he'd be there). At the same time, a lot of fans who had been disappointed in Taylor's lack of explicit statement about anti-LGBTQ legislation in several of the states on her tour created an expectation or hope for themselves that Taylor would say something in Nashville about the TN drag ban, because in the past she's centered her political statements as a citizen of Tennessee. And obviously, Taylor did not say anything, and so I think you have these two largely separate things - Matty Healy and her silence on these bills - being mixed into the same conversation in ways that aren't very productive. (Tbh I personally don't find celebrities speaking out on bills like this to be very politically useful, but I also think if Taylor felt that way she probably shouldn't have publicly said the phrase 'I promise to always advocate' for protections for LBGTQ people. Like, questions of political efficacy aside, I do think there's very valid space for fan disappointment.)
So, that said, I think some part of the fan backlash Taylor is receiving is about her silence on these bills, not fans wanting her to dump Matty Healy (and some people have been very good about separating these threads of argument, some people have been deliberately combining them into a larger statement, some people have just been blurring them completely). And while I don't really think yelling at celebrities on the internet to speak up about terrible legislation is effective politics at all, I do think I kind of see where it comes from, which is where the context comes in. To make an extremely complicated story much shorter, one of the early waves of the current anti-trans panic resulted in an anti-trans bill passed in North Carolina in 2016. For complicated and largely racial reasons, organizing political action in NC is extremely difficult (also in 2016, a UNC democratization researcher declared that NC technically couldn't be considered a democracy. it hasn't gotten much better, an abortion ban was passed there just last week after an elected representative who was elected as a Democrat explicitly on a platform of protecting abortion rights abruptly switched party affiliation last month and voted for the bill, giving Republicans a veto-proof majority - it's a wild and deeply unsettling story.) However, what did happen in the wake of the 2016 bill was a massive cultural backlash - concerts in the state were cancelled, TV and film projects were moved, businesses pulled out of the state, the NCAA refused to consider the state as a potential venue for the incredibly lucrative men's basketball tournament while the law was still on the books - and ultimately the worst parts of the law were repealed in 2017 in response. A lot of young Americans at that time experienced that as a major soft power/cultural rebuke that led to actual political change, and so I think calling on cultural figures with a lot of soft power like Taylor Swift to at least say something is an attempt, if clumsy (the economic harm was much more effective than the cultural rebuke), at recreating that moment, especially as more and worse bills are being passed with nothing like that 2016 consensus response. Like I said, I don't think it substantially changes the substantive points you've been making about what is and isn't politics, but I do think it's useful for understanding the reference points young Americans may be holding in their heads (consciously or unconsciously).
Thanks for this ask anon - I found your thoughts and perspective really interesting.
You made me realise that I haven't been very curious about the calls from fans for Taylor Swift to speak about politics. It's a response to the world that combines putting a lot of emphasis on the political importance of speech acts and also really expressing desires to control what other people do - both of which I find very annoying. But this is a good reminder that even (or maybe especially) things that annoying to me are worth being curious about.
I had known a little bit about the laws in North Carolina and the backlash, but I hadn't realised that this was the lesson that at least some people had taken from it.
America is a terrifying place to be right now and the question of how to fight is a live and active one. And what really matters is that people are fighting collectively. People learn so much from trying to change the world alongside other people - and the idea that we're stronger together than we are alone is true of developing strategies as well as anything else.
I also totally get having an emotional reaction and a desire for something from the celebrities you follow. If you check my posts in the lead up to the Irish repeal referendum, or the 2019 British election - I really wanted 1D members to say 'Vote Repeal' and 'choose socialism over barbarism'. That feeling is a really normal part of being a fan and was there even though that I learned who Harry Styles was as I learned that we had nothing in common politically.
But the reason I write this is because I think it's so important that people don't let that feeling drive their political analysis (and what you say suggests that it might be).
I had an anon that said that the reason that they wanted a 1D member to speak out is that the 1D members voice was so much more powerful theirs. And that's what worries me - that people are ignoring the potential of building collective power - and instead hoping that someone who already has power will make change. And there's just no evidence that that works (quite the opposite).
There was lots of useful celebrity contributions to the American Civil Rights Movement of the 50s, 60s, and 70s. But it was fundamentally the same contribution that hundreds of thousands of people played across the US. Celebrities often had more money, and could sometimes reach particular audiences and create iconic issues. I'd never deny the impact that Aretha Franklin, or Muhammad Ali, or Tommie Smith and John Carlos. But there was work to be done in every single city and town across the US - and people did it. The actions those people took only had power within the context of hte wider movement they were connected to.
I do think it's worth at this moment looking at history and seeing how people have resisted in the past and what they've managed to do. And I think that shows how much it takes to change, and that any one person's voice can only be a tiny part of something bigger, even if they have a massive amplification system.
If I was going to sum up what I'm trying to say - there's nothing wrong with wanting Taylor to say something, but to think that whether or not Taylor says anything is politically important to the cause - is denying your own power.
#I had a side track#about what yelling at people on twitter can and can't do#based on this week's peak NZ news story#involving a Florida Zoo and a kiwi#but I think it distracts from the main point#Which is that lots of people have to come together collectively#to make change#those who already have power aren't going to do it by themselves

The Contortionist
My biggest feat this month is not DNFing this.
Quality is never guaranteed with anything, but even then, I didn't see this coming. To be fair, it hasn’t been trending on Booktok at all—I don’t think I’ve ever seen it on there, tbh—I knew of it mainly because of Reddit. All I can say is that that subreddit has taken a huge hit on their credibility (I’m half-joking).
This reads in some part like an edgy thirteen-year-old wrote this. There is so much telling, not showing. It feels… I don’t know how to explain it, but like I’m reading a high school composition / essay. I am constantly told things, like how “insane” Simon is, like how close the main character is to Trent, but I’m never really shown that, especially the latter.
Let’s talk about Trent, her gay best friend and the driving force of most of the story. He’s supposed to be dearest pal and the person she wants to protect, and I’m like… Why? He acts nothing like a friend. He’s just a selfish, conceited person who only cares about his own interests. She tells him she was molested, and this—this monstrosity—is what he says:
I… I don’t even know what to say about this. Firstly, what kind of friend advocates for fucking sexual assault? Secondly, this is a horrific caricature of how a gay person is portrayed. It's an insult to gay people. All this character thinks about is fucking hot men. The heroine, Cora, his best friend, is very clearly distraught because of the circus but he has never once noticed—never once cared beyond going there to get dick from someone at the circus:
And then later, when he’s in danger, she thinks:
Ah, right. The good old flashbacks. Because other than flashbacks to remind us how supposedly close these two people are (which are just shoe-horned in and not convincing at all), Trent has never done anything worth risking her life to save him.
Anyways, enough about Trent. Let’s talk about Simon, whose characterisation makes me puke.
I’ll start with the obvious—he’s insane. Don’t worry, you won’t forget this, because he reminds you of this every chapter. He’s insane. His smile “reeks” of insanity, whatever that means! He lost his sanity a long time ago! He is bonkers! (These are phrases all written in the book)
This is the cheapest way to describe a crazy person to me. My petty pet peeve is that I hate an overload of adjectives—show me he’s unhinged through his actions. And him constantly thinking to himself that he is insane made me cringe; can he… not? I have nothing against crazy people in fiction (if anything, they’re hella interesting if done right) but reminding me over and over again as if ‘crazy’ or 'evil' is his main personality trait is... a choice. And if he’s not reminding you of this, his circus co-workers are:
I... laughed, and I think I wasn't supposed to laugh. This story is supposed to be about a creepy, spooky circus, but other than Simon, everyone else just acts like normal people, save for the barker, who was creepy at first then had a personality transplant and became a normal, decent guy the next day. And them calling him “a dangerous, murderous piece of shit” had me in pieces.
I have to add that I read the “Unseelie Prince” by the same author and DNFed it, and it confirms to me that she writes the same type of male lead that is not for me. Why is he constantly cackling? Once or twice is… fine, I guess, but every time he cackles I envision a crazy witch-hag. And he gives big granny vibes too because he keeps calling the main character “cupcake”. No, I'm not kidding:
(Of course, we gotta be reminded that he is a psychopath. Can’t forget the reminder!) Also, he'll sometimes go on long rants when he’s angry, and the abrupt switch and the way the dialogue is written is... not done well. It's hard to put a finger on it and say exactly why, other than it didn't work for me.
There’s a lot more issues with this book that I don’t care to go into, because I’m not continuing this nonsense. Cora constantly going back to the circus when she’s traumatised by it yet and yet again makes no sense, and the horrible characterisation of everyone is another step down. Even “Hide” by Kiersten White did a better job setting an eerie atmosphere for a circus than this book did. I think a part of me did compare this book to “Hide”, and it falls awfully short.
Buried underneath this bilge is a plot that could actually work with the right execution. The puppet thing is honestly kind of interesting, but with their puppeteer being some man that talks like an edgy grandma, it is just not working for me. Goodbye, and good riddance. I've decided to write this author off once and for all.

So I read your post and the post you were referring to and honestly i'm confused as to why OP thought that website was a good resource for anything tbh. Like, from my research so far, most articles barely give ANY info about what's going on and the one that OP listed is by far the only one with as much info, but at the same time the entire article is chock full of anti-palestinian dog whistles.
That being said, while typing this, I just realized that the article attached to that OP is dated from June 10, 2021. So like, this makes things super confusing. The attached tweet is so misleading, making it seem like this is recent in relation to the current genocide and it's literally not. The article was updated on June 16 of that year though, and considering that the heading online says this: Israeli, Palestine Conflict: Rob Siegel of NJ is advocate of Hamas - which, besides even more blatant anti-palestinian sentiment, the article switched from calling Siegel Rob to Rich? Wild...
Safe to say that article is untrustworthy and considering they can't decide on a name to call Siegel, it's likely that they willfully misinterpreted his words to discredit him as a jewish man. Personally, I'd delete the post because as much as I am for Palestinian freedom and resistance, inaccurate and outdated information is not going to help the cause.
Yeah I re-read the article a couple of times and eventually just deleted the post, you're right, it was not worth having that on my blog regardless of whether or not there was useful information in the rest of the post.
It seems to me like the protest dates plus Siegel's statement that was recorded on video were the only recent pieces of information, and since one of them is Siegel's exact words straight from his mouth, and the other has dates based directly off of information he has given that are very easy to fact check, they seem pretty trustworthy to me. The article is outdated, which wouldn't necessarily make it completely irrelevant aside from the fact that it uses incredibly dubious language, which is even more apparent now that I've read the whole thing several times rather than just the section pasted into the post. Based on what you pointed out I definitely believe that they are trying to twist his words in that article either to make him look irrational or to use him as a scapegoat for other weird claims written in it, especially since other quotes from Siegel himself in the same article describe his experience with extreme antisemitism in a way that I cannot see why he would say Jews are responsible for it. Ridiculous shit, honestly, and I feel silly for not spotting it and looking into it sooner, but I'm glad I did now. Thanks for looking into this with me, I appreciate it!
#everything else Ive seen Siegel say directly in videos has been stuff that makes sense#so I think I will mostly rely on that information to judge his views.#roscoe rambles#asks

i think one of the biggest struggles of Shitty and Lardo's relationship longterm is the fact that only one of them wants to have kids while the other just hates the idea
#omgcp#shardo#honestly I think it would be one of the reasons they did start dating for so long#bc they both knew the other's opinion on the subject#but they both also knew that if they started dating it would be serious and longterm so you cant go into it knowing youre on different paths#right off the bat I want to say Shitty is the one who wants kids but I could also see it switched#Shitty had such a shit childhood and doesn't want to have kids and risk continuing the cycle of abuse from his dad#vs Lardo who doesn't want to physically HAVE kids (I cant see Lardo wanting to be pregnant tbh) but wants to have a badass family and stuff#(and she really REALLY loves the idea of Shitty being a dad and knows he would be great at it)#eventually they figure it out tho and I really think theyd foster teenagers from shitty backgrounds and they'd be great :)#like my one post about Shitty being a lawyer and looking after some of the kids he's advocated for

Ma’am! I ask politely for a Part 2 of “what consoles do you think the mha guys game on?” Please and thank you!!! ( If you may involve Shinsou, Kaminari, Sero… maybe Iida but I think he prefers the OG gameboy and plays the Pokémon Yellow Game or he plays Candy Crush on his phone when he is stressed and beats all the moms playing the game and he is in 1st place of Candy Crush and has beef with the previous winner which is an elder lady at the local retirement home and you see her riding her electric wheelchair to Iida’s Hero Agency is located since he uses his Hero name as his user name for Candy Crush).
(part one here!)
ANYTHING FOR U LEGEND, and how abt we start with Iida because you are so right on all accounts!!!
-
Tenya Iida - ???
This man absolutely thinks he's the shit for getting to play Tensei's old gameboy...
Not realizing that it was only given to him because his brother started playing newer stuff
And that being good at older games doesn't automatically make you good at current ones, either
Is an absolute Pokemon snob... who refuses to even go near some of the newer generations
And yeah... you can and will find this man having in-depth conversations about Candy Crush with (old) people...
Even if he is a Soda Saga advocate </3
Hitoshi Shinso - Xbox turned PC
Honestly... he definitely played some kind of console before switching to PC after taking an interest in building his own
He's not against shooters, but prefers RPGS like Skyrim and/or Dragon Age
He just like fantasy character creators, tbh
Absolutely tries to mansplain why Fallout New Vegas is better than Fallout 4 to you at some point
You log onto the computer at any time and it always says he's online
Active Discord user, too </3
Denki Kaminari - Anything
He most likely has an Xbox at home but enjoys playing anything and everything
Probably because his quirk made it so that he was always invited to video game hangouts
Has a knack for shooters... always ranking mid-diamond tier and upward
LMFAO you go to his house and his console is 100 degrees Celcius and is just fucking... screaming at you
(Probably because it's ancient and he's tried to do home surgery on it with his quirk multiple times)
100% plays those weird RPG-things on his phone
And admittedly will spend money on them </3
Hanta Sero - PS4
Sports games are his specialty but he's not too terrible at other stuff, either
(See: also Overwatch... to which he plays as a tank or Lucio)
Genuinely enjoys gaming but prefers doing it with friends
Which is why he definitely has a handful of online groups he plays with a lot, too
Absolutely incredible at Mario Kart for no reason... and extremely competitive about it since he KNOWS he's good
And thinks it's cute when you try to play with him (and then lose)
Comforting you is like a reward..........
Has a gaming chair and a big ass headset

An interview with Måneskin: “It's not about out bodies, it's about our music”
Heyo, I'm back with another translation. This time the article is from the German Rolling Stone website who met with Måneskin after their TikTok performance at the Schwuz, Berlin, and posted the interview yesterday. Again there were some interesting questions asked (and the pictures they added to the article are quite nice, though severely lacking some Ethan content, but check it out!).
Again, I hope that no one has already gone through the effort and translated it or is currently working on a translation. Also this is an official invitation, if you stumble across any articles or video interviews in German that you would like to have translated just message me and I'll get to it! (or if you just wanna chat about Måneskin, my inbox is always open :))
Have a great day everyone!
Full article under the cut.
-----------------------------
An interview with Måneskin: “It's not about out bodies, it's about our music”
Jose-Luis Amsler
July 6, 2021
Måneskin are just what this generation has been missing. Passionate, corny, and full-on honest. In an interview with Rolling Stones, the ESC winners explain to us why they would never work in a normal job and why the hype for their appearance is sometimes going too far.
Damiano, Victoria, Thomas and Ethan are entering the nearly deserted dance hall, before they wait on stage in a red-blue spotlight. They are wearing glittering fish net tops, black tape across their nipples, leather pants, heels and make up. The camera men who are filming in portrait format (9:16) suitable for TikTok are whirling up the haze of the fog machine.
Måneskin are [in] Berlin to give a TikTok concert. A TikTok livestream of this scale has not been done often – tension is in the air. The four Italians don't know at this point that due to the stream the few people present are not allowed to clap or cheer. In complete silence and with slight uncertainty the four are crossing Neukölln's club Schwuz. A few puzzled glances are exchanged. Finally, Måneskin are striking the first chord.
Then the rich sound of Ethan's bass drum is tearing through the silence. It's almost as if someone has flicked a switch somewhere. There it is, the rock star presence that is hovering over everything they do, with an ounce of arrogance (in the best sense of the word). Singer Damiano is dancing lasciviously on his heels, and during an especially ecstatic solo guitarist Thomas is throwing himself down on the floor in a way it can only be done by a passionate 20-year-old musician who had never had to worry about the looming doom of an artificial knee joint [for 'passionate' the interview is using the term 'besessen' which means 'possessed', and although I think it's rather supposed to describe the way Thomas is 'possessed / obsessed' with the music, thus passionate for the music, you never know if they didn't mean to say that the way he dances looks 'possessed' … I mean, they might be on to something here ;)]. Around half an hour and about 120 decibel later, Damiano says their goodbyes with an almost shy-sounding “Okay, bye.” After the performance, we do our interview in the Schwuz.
Rolling Stone: It was a little bit weird, right, when you went on stage today?
Damiano: Yeah, that was really strange (laughs). They only told us after the performance that the audience was instructed to stay silent for the stream.
Vic: But at least they weren't silent because we were shit (all laughing). We are slowly getting used to playing without a live audience. I mean we are doing this now for more than a year.
RS: What do you think about these new kinds of concerts such as the TikTok livestream today?
Damiano: Well, at the moment it is the only option to perform anyway, so it's alright. But of course you cannot compare this to a proper concert.
Thomas: But it's pretty cool that so many people can experience our concert live.
Vic: Also we're gonna start touring again soon. Right now we are arranging some festival and gigs. In December we will be touring Italy and afterwards we are planning to go on tour through Europe. But we don't have anything fixed yet, there is just a lot going on at the moment.
“A lot going on”. Quite an understatement considering the recent journey Måneskin has made through the past weeks after their ESC win. Their singles “Beggin'” and “I Wanna Be Your Slave” went through the roof (also thanks to Social Media) and are currently dominating the international charts – lately they were also number one in Germany. There is barely a radio station that isn't playing the band on heavy rotation [would love to know what stations they listen to, have never heard Måneskin played in German radio tbh :( ], and everyone opening Instagram or TikTok these days is flooded by Måneskin content. Every second a new fanpage with the name of 'maneskin_obsession' or 'damianos_slut' is springing up like a (virtual) mushroom. It sounds like a cliche, but Damiano, Vic, Thomas and Ethan became international stars over night.
“Of course it's nice to get compliments. But sometimes they definitely cross a line.” – Damiano David
RS: How has your life as a band changed since your win at the ESC in Rotterdam?
Vic: I think we don't even notice a lot of what's happening. Right after the ESC we went to a studio in the countryside where we made music the whole day long. So at first we didn't realise that so many things were happening all around us – and that we had so many new fans. We're just now beginning to learn what's going on. We were at Sony yesterday, there were so many fans waiting for us. That was crazy.
RS: A large part of the attention you are getting now is about your outer appearance, your style, your attractiveness. Is that getting a little too much sometimes?
Damiano: Of course it's nice to get compliments (laughs). But sometimes they definitely cross a line. Especially when we just talk about our music or about a social or political topic that we care about. In those moments it's just completely inappropriate to reduce us to our appearance. Sure – when I'm posting a half-naked picture of myself on Instagram I know that I will get these kind of comments. And then it's totally fine, I mean in the end I'm posting the picture to show myself. But sometimes it's not the right place for it.
RS: And also you should be allowed to wear what you want without being sexualised, right?
Vic: Yes, absolutely. We are wearing these outfits because we feel good in them, not to put the focus on our bodies. And in general it shouldn't always only be about how you dress. We are musicians – so first and foremost it should be about our music. But I think it will still be a long way until we will reach that point.
“That the boys are wearing make up does not tell you what gender they are attracted to. Those things should never be equated with each other.” – Victoria De Angelis
RS: But still you are sending a message with your style against stereotypical gender roles. I guess it's also not only coincidence that we are in the Schwuz today, which is normally a party location and safe space for the LGBTQ community.
Vic: Yes, that is all part of the positive message that we try to send. We want to give our audience the feeling that they are free. Free to wear whatever they want to wear, be how they want to be and love whom they want to love. It's unbelievable that there is still so much intolerance in our times. That has always been really important to us so we try to talk about these topics. We also believe that the narrow-mindedness of society is an educational problem. When you grow up with people all around you telling you how you should be, you will never feel completely free. The more people are talking about it, the sooner things will change.
RS: Some artists who are advocating for these topics are accused of 'queerbaiting', that they are only pretending to be a certain way to gain more support from the queer community. Have you also been faced with those allegations?
Vic: Yes, a few times. But of course we never pretended to be anything. Some people accuse of us queerbaiting because we look and act the way we do. But that's flawed thinking. We don't believe that clothes are connected to a person's sexuality. That the boys are wearing make up does not tell you what gender they are attracted to. Those two things should never be equated with each other.
RS: This courage for free self expression that you are conveying is mainly lived by our (young) generation through Instagram and the like. What is your relationship to social media?
Damiano: For me it was almost scary at first. The more we grew, the more people were trying to twist all of my words. But over time you start to understand that with more fame you also get more criticism. The happier you look the more hate you will get. It's not only like that for celebrities. If you are brave enough to show the things that make you happy there will always be people that support you, but they are also those that envy you. Of course, this should never lead anyone to not express themselves openly but that's easier said than done.
Vic: We are also trying not to spend too much time on social media. In the end we just try to be honest with our fans and to avoid negativity.
[caption under the picture of Damiano: 'Is already being compared to icons such as David Bowie']
It's actually surprising how little power a win at the ESC holds in most cases. Almost 200 million people are watching this shining spectacle every year – and still, a few months afterwards it is hard to remember who those people were that got covered in confetti during the award ceremony. It's the well-known curse of a casting show that rests on the winning bands. When just next year a new sensation will come to marvel at, how much impact does a win have then? There are exceptions of course, like Lena who is until this day, 10 years after her win in Oslo, a part of the more famous music scene of German pop music. With their charisma, their unusual sound at least for our modern standards, and their contemporary message Måneskin could become such an exception, too.
It's likely also helpful that the band already had a standing in the Italian music scene prior to their ESC participation. Their first album 'Il ballo della vita' already achieved platinum in 2018, three years prior to Sanremo and the ESC. And then there is also the long way that led the four schoolmates to this point that helped them gain the necessary persistence. Because contrary to what some people might want to believe Måneskin are not a phenomenon that has just been deliberately bred to be this way by the entertainment industry for Eurovision.
“I have worked [in a 'normal' job] for a whole month in my entire life – it didn't really end well.” – Damiano David
RS: You were all raised in Rome, the capital of the catholic church. What was it like to start as a young progressive band in such a conservative environment?
Damiano: In the beginning, when we started as buskers, no one gave a damn about us anyways (all laughing). But of course … Once we got a bit bigger there were a few people who had a problem with us. For example when we went to Sanremo, there were quite many people who thought that the way we looked and acted we shouldn't be allowed to represent Italy. They didn't even want to listen to our music first.
Vic: Especially when it comes to appearance and sexuality, Italy is a little more backward than other countries. The church probably also has an influence there. They are often quite conservative of course, so many people grew up with such a [conservative] mindset.
RS: You once said that the song 'In Nome Del Padre' is an answer to exactly those people. What does the song mean to you?
Damiano: Back in the beginning [of our career] we had to deal with a lot of problems. They didn't want to let us play in clubs because we would take too much space as a band or because they didn't like our (fashion) style or because they didn't want to pay us. Italy isn't a good place for bands. Our musical style was also criticised a lot. Many people were telling us: Don't do that [rock music], you won't get popular with that in Italy, you will never achieve anything with it. Of course those comments were hurtful but they were also a good reason for us to continue with what we did. And we turned our sadness into anger. With that song we wanted to tell those people from back then: Fuck off and look at us, we did it!
RS: Did you ever consider working in a nine-to-five job and live a 'normal' life?
Damiano: Nah, not really. For one month in my life I worked [in a 'normal' job] – it didn't end well (all laughing).
Vic: We all made music since we were kids. It's a huge part of us, that we couldn't just ignore. And the most important thing is that you do something that makes you happy. At least that's what we believe. So we started from a young age to put all our time and energy into music.
Thomas: Yeah, exactly. Ever since we were in school together we always made music. That has always been our main focus and it is until today. We play and play and play because it is the only thing that …
Ethan: … we live for.
Damiano: Music has also something very therapeutic for us. Even when we are in a bad mood or fight with each other – yeah, that happens, too – then all of that is gone the moment we enter the stage. Maybe that's the beautiful thing about music – that it allows you to forget everything else. You're just standing on stage, having fun with your friends.
From most bands you wouldn't buy such a corny love letter to music. Mostly it just sounds like an empty phrase, a well-practiced quotable line. But when there is something that defines Måneskin and that becomes more and more evident during our conversation it's their uncompromising honesty. The four of them are definitely not lacking a sense of humour but they take their music very seriously. Which should not be taken for granted in a generation that has mainly produced sarcastic cloud rappers and has made cynical twitter comedy a national sport. And maybe Måneskin are exactly what this generation was lacking all along.
Still, the four musicians, all in the age of 20 to 22, are also prone to the constant need for self-expression, that has become an intrinsic part of today's life. This does not only reflect in the outfits of the band (always 'on fleek') and their Instagram profiles, but also in their lyrics. Their latest record 'Teatra D'Ira – Vol. 1' shows a clear theme: The album is an ode to individuality, accentuated by fast and hard sounds.
Sometimes this message fitting for a Disney movie [really? guess I have been watching the wrong Disney movies my whole life …] is wrapped in a contrasting loud and forceful packaging, but never so much that it becomes inauthentic or self-caricaturing [note: I'm honestly not entirely sure what they wanted to say with this sentence since it uses a lot of rhetorical devices that could be interpreted in different ways, but I'd say this sounds the most plausible]. And in the end, the thing that makes Måneskin so interesting is their unification of the spirit of this time – between TikTok hedonism and an omnipresent political statement – with the music of past generations.
“When you are twenty, you start to think about what the future will hold.” – Damiano David
RS: Your musical style is often described as classical 70s rock, but in fact there are many different influences in your music. Sometimes you groove almost into funk, sometimes it's more rapping than singing. How did this mixture come to be?
Thomas: It's just that we all have our own individual influences and then we meet somewhere in the middle. And we always try to stay open for experiments.
Ethan: Yes, we are very experimental in our song writing process.
Vic: We also don't want to limit ourselves to what is regarded as typical rock music. If rap fits better at some point then we just add that in. It just happens naturally without us thinking too much about it.
RS: So why was it still rock music in the end?
Vic: Because it's the style that we feel most represented by. But actually we just play the music that we enjoy playing. That's really important to us so that we can show something real on stage. We don't want to pretend to be something that we aren't or mock those people that really enjoy our music. You should always be proud of what you're doing and never fake anything just to sell more records.
RS: Is there something like an Italian rock music scene?
Vic: There are quite a lot of bands – but the most of them are much older than us or they are more going in the direction Indie rock. There isn't really a young rock scene, which we think is a pity. But ever since we got more famous people are telling us that they started listening to rock music because of us or that they bought their first guitar and such. That's incredibly nice!
RS: So you're saying that you also want to show this style of music to a younger generation. And you capture this contrast quite well in the song 'Vent'anni', which is a typical rock ballad but lyrically portrays the thoughts of today's youth. Where did the motivation come from to write that song?
Damiano: With the song I wanted to show that I'm just a normal guy, a really typical 20-year-old. I experience the same things that other people in my age are experiencing, I'm just doing another job than them. Also I wanted to describe this age as a whole because I think it's a really special age. At 20 you start to think about what the future will hold. I think it's one of the most important stages of your life. Since we (the four of us) are all in the same age, I then started to mix our experiences together. In the end the song shows what it means to us to be 20. There is a lot of good things – you are quite carefree and are looking at life enthusiastically. But on the other hand you're too young to do certain things and too old to do others. Some people are treating you like a full-grown adult, but …
Vic: … not entirely.
Damiano: Exactly. It can get pretty frustrating at times. We wanted to show our audience: Hey, we're also just 20 years old, and we're going through the same things as you. We understand you.
RS: Except that you are the ones who are becoming a world-wide phenomenon right now. How do you want to maintain this honesty?
Damiano: I think that we could just reach this point because we have always been authentic – for better or for worse. Also we are just trying to have fun with what we're doing together. That's something special that we don't want to lose. In the end we're just four friends who started to live their dream. It's actually pretty simple. Of course – we go on stage, we get a lot of attention, we give interviews – but when we come back home we're just four friends.

I feel like I'm the only one that prefers Kacchako over Izuocha!! Tbh i rather see deku and uraraka as friends
Hey there!
You are not alone, a lot of people have the same preference, or obsession in my case 😂, I don't hate Izuocha I think if given to the right people they could have something good but all I'm seeing just seems so forced and I'm not an advocate of the girl pining for MC throughout the series and him being completely oblivious 😤🤦🏻♀️I think they could be really close friends but nothing more
But kacchako is just..ugh I love it so much that I switched from Izuocha to kacchako so fast and I never looked back my Twitter feed is all kacchako😂💗💗💗🍡💥
By the way this is my first ask ever on tumblr you have made my day💖💖💖💖💖💖
