IMPORTANT!!
iβm left heartbroken and disgusted by the events that take place in this world. it leaves me questioning the existence of beings. what hurts me more is seeing how quiet this community is on the issue. you have platforms with a 1,000+ followers and willingly choose to stay silent.
please educate yourselves and take a look at whatβs happening in palestine. i have friends with families who are fighting for their lives right now. these people have been fighting oppression for decades. use your privilege for something. use your platform for something. please iβm begging you. just because it isnβt directly effecting you doesnβt give you the excuse of staying silent.
a reminder that if you choose to stay silent in the face of oppression, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.
here are some resources:

π€π£π π‘ππ¨π© πππ§ππ¬ππ‘π‘ - attack on titan
*contains heavy spoilers for chapter 139 of the aot manga
mikasaβs pov
βββββββββΏββββββββ
she loved him
never once did her feelings falter
even when he blew those spiteful words, laced with the most agonising of poisons, into existence.
her faith in him prevailed through it all.
to her, he was still the same young boy who itched to seek justice and peace for him and his friends - even if that meant watching the world crumble under the weight of its sins. she watched as armin woefully lamented that eren hadn't been able to formulate an adequate argument for why he subjected humanity to the destruction of the rumbling.
he knew, all his comrades knew in the back of their consciences, that he didn't need to - his ambitions and values shaped his every action. even as he stumbled through his brief time on earth, he never stopped striving for the intangible concept of freedom despite realising that right from birth, his broken wings would forever remain clipped until the day that death left its mark on him, he was disabled from soaring in the sky as a being that wasn't confined by the twisted rules of society.
he insisted that he hated slaves even though he was the very thing which he looked down on with the utmost malice and disgust - his mere existence crafted just for the sake of repentance.
wrongly he was endowed with the title of 'humanity's last hope' instead he constructed the road for someone more befitting to become the 'saviour of the eldians'. the world was rid of the entity which plagued the minds of everyone, the things which scarred the eyes of many, seized the lives of innocence and brought immense discrimination to this already divided place in the universe.
whilst the existence of them may have been abolished - the memories still have an everlasting presence on those whose minds like to haunt them with taunting snippets of their lives.
their origins remain unanswered and are a question that some wonder, others try their best to forget as the titans are no longer needing to be a worry anymore - this was the start of a new era.
mikasa could never eliminate her times with him although that meant reliving the horrors of the war countless times. the precious boy who wrapped the scarf around her was worth fighting enemies to the end of the world and back.
if you told anyone who knew the pair that she would be the one to finish it all in one single, effortless slice - they would just scoff and call you a liar. it was unfathomable to believe that the girl who swore the boy whom she owed her life to, the exact same girl who had always put her own life on the line if that meant ensuring that his life wasn't treading the path of danger, would be the one to eradicate his presence.
every year without fail she comes to his grave and weeps silent tears, they tasted bitter-sweet as the world around her became more vibrant and alive since he left. the air felt lighter and warmer, with the gentle breeze cruising through, but it still didn't surmount enough to fill the gaping hole in her heart that only he could complete.
the birds chirped joyfully as the lady clutched her chest, heaving with aches of yearning. she hated him for leaving but was indebted for the things he did for the rest of the island. her neck bare and exposed for the wind, which had seemed pleasant before, to stroke her with an icy chill.
some days were better than others, in the day joy overtook her as she walks the street with those who had stayed through it all but when the moon came out and darkness overtook the sky - that's when the loneliness creeps in.
she missed him but she had never felt freer because of him. everyone was now freer.
if only he could experience this is what she thinks with a little smile.
when she closes her eyes sometimes her mind envisions his eyes from childhood which held a determined glow as he weaved between the streets, other times she likes to conjure up scenarios of what could have happened if he didn't have to go. would they have gone on walks by the sea? they would stay peacefully in a little cottage, happily growing old together or maybe they would have travelled beyond the water and discovered more about his father's unknown past?
whatever would have happened, she just knew that he would have finally been able to fly as high or low as he desired and for as long as he wished to.
as much as she dislikes to hold regrets within in her, selfishly she wishes that they could have had one last kiss where each other's feelings were reciprocated and he wasn't acting by the rules which he had laid out for himself, instead he let his raw emotions dictate his next move.
however, she leaps forward confidently, treasuring the little but thoughtful interactions which they had together throughout the years and she hopes that a time comes where she is able to let go and soar as he does now.
at least she can move on knowing that
he loved her too.

chapter 5 : fate
Β· β’ ββ Ω β€ Ω ββ β’ Β·
the air was suffocating.
like a thick blanket, it wrapped around you and was intertwining with your mouth; bubbling with putrid sensations. it trapped your airway shut preventing oxygen from entering the complex system of the lungs. you failed to breathe, your hands bound by ragged pieces of fabric that surprisingly halted every move you made.
every second ticked by, every second you grew weaker.
your eyelids felt heavy again, feeling dejected you submitted into the devil's wishes and let slumber sweep you into another fantasy. a world where the circumstances were different and life upheld its joyful status.
fate is a humorous thing, some are blessed with a fate that brings them glory and delight but every once in a while the jokester that is fate plays practical jokes on the lesser people. fate shrouded them with despair. you had accepted that you were simply one of these lesser people, like the sky; death seemed to be looming over your head at every corner you turned.
your poisoned fate was cemented; no escape could be seen so whatever was to befall your way in these fleeting moments - you would accept it with clenched teeth and slap a false smile on.
a rather powerful strike to the face is what gave you a rude awakening. your eyes springing open at the sensation of throbbing, only to view unfamiliar faces peering at you with disgust.
your eyes shot to the perpetrator of the slap, the guilty man made no effort to disguise himself as the bald man had his hand still raised in the air.
his hand had blushed with red colour as an aftereffect of waking you. silence sat on his lips; no words were needed as the frown he displayed spoke all the words for him.
"k-kageyama do you think she can hear us?"
to the left of the dingy room were two juvenile looking boys. one of which had an orange flame for hair and tentatively clung to the taller boy whom you assumed to be the aforementioned 'kageyama'. the young boy was evidently discomposed by your presence which was ironic since they were the one who captured you in the first place.
"idiot, she's awake of course she can. i thought you were dumb but i didn't realise you were this dumb."
"kageyama, you shouldn't say things like that to your friends and you aren't exactly the brightest star in the world either."
"you aren't even making sense right now? at least i'm not some crazy maniac who bounces off the walls all day, every day-"
"do you guys ever shut up? you are both as dumb as one another and that's final. you both are freaks who deserve each other."
a blonde boy with glasses interrupted the bickering pair, clearly bored at their antics as he wore a displeased scowl on his face.
"everyone please calm down, we have a guest present. we should at least be courteous and introduce ourselves."
the three students fell silent at the older man's stern voice and you did too. terror coursed through your veins causing you to freeze. one quick glance and these boys seemed harmless however if there was anything that you have learnt in the previous days is that there is always more than what meets the eye.
*cough* oikawa *cough*
the man spoke with such conviction that a small child could cry upon hearing his voice.
suddenly it clicked.
they appeared to be around the same age as you and caught you on your way to meeting up with another gang. when entering the gymnasium, it was like a ghost town. tumbleweed might as well have rolled along the slippery floor.
the aoba johsai volleyball team had been played with.
these boys were karasuno, the gang you were supposed to have had a peaceful and hassle-free transaction with.
"i guess there's no need to introduce ourselves then. you seemed to have figured it out yourself, smart girl you are."
when preparing for the transaction, a first-year called kunimi who you had gotten to know in the short space of time had written a profile on each of the members of karasuno. Iwaizumi ensured that you had it memorised like a second language.
it all came rushing back to you and these unfamiliar faces became clearer than they were a few seconds ago. the man who spoke to you held the same position as oikawa as the leader of the group, he was no other than sawamura daichi.
you were never able to grasp the ability to mask your emotions, daichi must have been able to pick up your abrupt hostility as a reaction to the epiphany.
"what do you want?"
the bitter-tone rolling naturally off your tongue, you kept your guard up.
the information on these men was limited as they were a slowly rising gang. with the various member changes, it was a frustration trying to gather knowledge on the fallen crows.
"we don't really want anything. only for the district to know that we are back."
the words were dripping in venom, you could tell that daichi enjoyed watching you squirm.
the toxicity being emitted by room was overriding your senses and it was taking everything in your will-power to maintain your composure in front of the gang.
"but why this way?"
"where's the fun in just assassinating people for power's sake? the most pleasurable way is to take an object so precious to someone that they are forced to do whatever you want. that's how you gain leverage."
bile steadily crept up in your throat, ready to make its exit if daichi were to utter one more syllable. subconsciously you had placed all your bets onto oikawa, hoping that he would storm in and rescue you.
"god that's sick and twisted. i hope karma slaps you in the face before i do. "
"oh sweetheart~"
hearing the nickname was like a punching bag to stomach. it disgusted you at how sickly sweet it sounded, at how easily he said it. behind the smirk he held was a sadistic and warped shell of a man who made you feel nauseated to the stomach.
"you have no idea who you have gotten yourself involved with. we are merely the tip of the iceberg, once you fall down this rabbit hole there is no crawling out of it. consider this experience a warning."
"i know what i have signed up for. since i have met you, i have met the worst already. there's not much more which the world could throw my way."
"you can try and fool me with your tough girl act-"
you could feel the hot breath of daichi fanning your face as he lowered his stance to your height. his sly gaze pierced right through you, creating an even more uncomfortable atmosphere. you turned your head as he spoke, not wanting your brain to endure the pain of even looking at the corrupt man.
"-but i see right through it."
droplets of spit took refuge on your hair as his words were accompanied by saliva escaping his dirty mouth.
then you realised,
you were a lesser person. fate did not want to treat you like you were royalty. instead, it thought of you as a dismal teenager whose life could easily be disposed of.
you were a damsel in distress with no prince charming coming to protect you and fight in your honour. no matter how hard you tried to fool yourself into believing that you were not alone. the reality was more genuine than the empty words which oikawa had spoken to you.
you were tired. this whole night had been incredibly taxing on your brain and regrettably, Daichi was right, you were afraid.
so afraid and fragile.
you were just going to shut your eyes and put your mind at ease. in time you would surely meet your demise...
it was as if lightning had struck the door,
an ear-splitting thud was heard from the mouldy door and a cloud of smoke had been created as a consequence of the intrusion. the silhouettes who were the cause of the disruption stood concealed by the fine, yellow dust.
maybe,
just maybe,
fate had allowed you a little more time.

Levi, one of the best written characters in manga history
At the end of attack on titan, Levi solidified the fact that he's humanity's strongest not only in the aot world, but also in the entirety of manga world.
Levi's first introduced in chapter 9.5, and as soon as we see him we're presented to one of his most memorable quirks: being a clean freak. Levi's very indifferent to his title as humanity's strongest and seems to go as far as to feel embarrassed by it at times, since it makes all eyes go on him when the sc is passing by.
Later in the chapter, when one of his comrades Is about to die, we see Levi go against his aversion to dirt by holding his dying friend's hand. It is then that we are presented to my favorite personality trait of Levi's: he's extremely caring with those he loves.
Levi's care is shown in the ACWRN spin off in its crudest form, in a Levi in his 20s that still hadn't learned how to control his impulses, that would do anything to protect the first friends he ever made in his life.
The complexity of Levi's relationship with violence is insane, because while he despises those that enjoy violence, despises those that think blood should be spilt for fun,
He also doesn't mind becoming a monster to achieve a greater goal for humanity.
Levi was born in violence. He was raised in it, practiced it, and still, he was able to maintain the kernel of his heart intact. Levi has seen and done horrible things. He's an abnormal, and one of the most human characters in the whole series.
A moment where we're able to see Levi's pain shine through is when he kills Zeke. Levi spent years readying himself for that moment. He spent years waiting for the day he'd finally follow through with his promise to Erwin, waited so he could save humanity. And then, when he finally does it, he feels nothing but pain. Because Levi was born in violence, raised in it, practiced it, but was still aversed by it. At the end of the moment, when his promise was fullfilled, when his goal was achieved, he felt pained that this.... This is what it all came down to.
Levi doesn't say "i love you" conventionally. Instead he says "thank you", because that's the way he feels love. Levi feels love in the form of gratitude, because its in those people -his friends- that he's able to find fhe strength to fight. Levi isn't strong because he's an Ackerman, or because he's just unbelievably skilled. Levi's strong because of the love he feels for those around him.
The way Levi sees the world...
And the way he interacts with it...
All come from love, in its purest form.
Now in his 40s, Levi's the only person in all of humanity that lived the world of the walls in its crudest, most violent form. Levi's the only one that knows the stories, the faces and the names of those that made their win possible. Levi's the only one that lived every bit of it, from humanity's worst moments of dispair to its most glorious days of victory. Levi's the golden stem that connects the past and the future. He's a product of all the love there is in this world. And I'm so thankful that, even after so much loss, he's not alone in the end.
Levi's not humanity's strongest because of his speed, his agility, or his last name. Levi's humanity's strongest because even in death, he was able to find love, and move on. And I know living is a choice he doesn't regret.

attack on titan au
inspired by 'see you in my 19th life' webtoon
author's note ; eunji is the 18th life name whilst hyejin is her general name :)
intro : sweet summer day
ββββββββ±βΏβ°βββββββ
memories are strange entities. they lay dormant in the cave we call the mind until all of a sudden - something as minuscule as a waft of a scent walks by, triggering a forgotten incident from decades ago.
as humans, we wonder about the memories of our previous lives which remain with our souls eternally. we ask questions about: who were we? how did our past selves use to act? perhaps they were delinquents who wreaked havoc on the neighbourhood or perhaps they were a pair of goody-two-shoes who could do no wrong.
maybe we even had a significant other whose love used to fill our days with boundless bliss?
it all seemed like a classified secret which the brain could never gain access to no matter how hard it racked all its neurones in an attempt to search for all the answers.
however, hyejin ban must have been a glitch in the system.
when her first life occurred, she didn't think much of it and lived it to the fullest as much as a working-class girl could in the 1800s (society was something of a different nature in those time). she grew up with plenty of friends and siblings, fell in love with a boy who had lived next door and worked as an average house-wife whilst the husband provided the money required to live comfortably with not much to worry about except for disease.
to say that hyejin was surprised when every detail of her previous self came flooding back to her would be an understatement. there is no word in the english dictionary to describe the shock which devoured her.
she had heard conspiracies of those who claimed to remember fragments of their past lives in her village before however she never thought them to be a thing of truth. it was as if all the memories had been transferred onto a hard drive and inserted into her new body, making her age at least 80 years as her 'life' flashed right before her juvenile eyes.
nonetheless, she tolerated having two sets worth of memories and had a rather quiet, peaceful existence with only her family to bid her a farewell as she silently passed. she watched as the 19th century came to an end and the world transitioned into a new one, marking an end of an era.
flash forward a few more lives and her soul had endured more than anyone could ever comprehend. each body presenting a new perspective on the mixed bag of earth. each body which she took on was distinctly different from the last as all her lives came in all different shapes and sizes as well as randomising which gender she was. from world wars to famine to milestones such as the first man walking on the moon, hyejin's mind remembered it all. only to leave it behind as the never-ending cycle of death and reincarnation continued.
some lives were shorter than others as unfortunate environments cut the thread of life much too soon, leaving much of the life to fall to the pits of hell. sometimes hyejin was treat unfairly as she suffered the struggles of poverty and faced many of the evils which the world had to offer. yet instead of living filled with resentment and agony, she took these as opportunities to grow wiser as a being. eventually, school became repetitive as the knowledge taught had already been ingrained within her.
as hyejin became used to her circumstances and gained a better understanding of what was happening, she set rules to live by. one of which was to let go of any burdens and troubles of past lives which could mental strain to her present and subsequent self.
οΉβ’β’β’οΉ
hyejin was rebirthed for the 18th time as 'eunji yun' and quickly she learnt that she had been born with a silver spoon in her mouth. she grew up surrounded by maids ready to cater for her every wish and need, it was a life where money would never be an issue and her family showered her more love than she had ever encountered before.Β at the age of 6, her family brought a younger sister into the world who not before long began to mean the absolute world to <> and she took it upon herself to fill the other half of the parental figures that was left empty by her hard-working father.
the sun was shining brightly when hyejin's mother guided her to the family car, telling her vaguely that she had business with another mother at another household not too dissimilar from theirs. the girl let her curiosity get the better of her and asked why she had to come along - her mother just turned to look at her with a mischievous glint in her eye and replied with a face plastered with a simple smile that held no information. hyejin despite being wise beyond her years reacted with a childish sigh and dramatic slump in her seat as the car started to drive away.
soon a house in the distance came into view, the car slowing down as the wheels entered the extensive drive. hyejin thought her house had been grand however this house was the epitome of luxury even the air had the distinct smell of the rich. on the journey, she had been told this was the residence of a wealthy chairman whose son was of a similar age to her.
upon walking in she couldn't help but gasp from the grandiose of it all, the chandeliers hung on the ceiling twinkling away as the striking staircase sat in the centre of the foyer. her awe was shattered as she heard a chuckle infused with honey from a woman whose aura held as much awe as the impressive atmosphere of the interior did.
'you must be miss eunji yun, what a pleasure to meet you. i'm carla jeager.'
'pleased to make your acquaintance, thank you for inviting my mother and i to your household.'
all the etiquette lessons were quickly put into action as hyejin's voice uttered the stock response which she had practised numerous times growing up.
carla found the amusement in this textbook conversation and responded with another sweet chuckle
'no need to be so formal, your mother and i are very good friends, please make yourself at home.'
she spoke with such a heart-warming tone that felt so down to earth, it was like listening to melodic tunes of birds chirping - you wouldn't believe that her family was one with the highest status and wealth.
'carla, should we brew a pot of tea?'
her mother interjected whilst handing over her faux fur jacket to the maid who had discreetly made their way beside hyejin in the foyer. she had not even noticed that she had already slipped off her diamond-encrusted heels.
'ah, what a good idea! let's move to the kitchen'
eagerly the pair of mothers walked side by side already engrossed in a different conversation it was clear that they had much to catch up on.
swiftly after pulling her sneakers off, hyejin started to take a few steps before carla turned around, halting her,
'there's no need to follow us, i'm sure you would have a far more entertaining time with my son who you will find in the library up the stairs. will you be able to find your way?'
hyejin hadn't noticed the glow which consumed her eyes as she smiled at her, there was an extremely low probability that she wouldn't do what carla had asked of her.
'of course ma'am, don't worry too much about me and please proceed with your intended business.'
as hyejin heard the receding the steps of the mothers she couldn't quite help but catch wisps of their conversation.
'she conducts and speaks so eloquently for a 12-year-old.'
'sometimes i forget that she's even a child at all.'
holding onto the handrails, she looked back with a knowing smile as she began her descent up the stairs. following carla's instructions, the library was easily found. the walls filled to brim with all types of books from fairytales to encyclopedias on insects and ladders at every corner to aid with the books at the very top shelf that was too high for even the tallest of humans. the centre of the room held plush sofas and chairs clearly carefully chosen for the purpose of being able to read enjoyably.
hyejin's eyes fixed themselves onto a figure, not much taller than the 3rd shelf, desperately trying to grab at a book that was just out of his reach. his tiptoes only doing so much to increase his height, the girl scoffed in amusement at the sight in front of her and strolled over to the black-haired boy.
'need a hand?'
she hadn't meant for there to be a snarky tone however the words which tumbled out appeared as condescending when in reality she had just wanted the tiny boy who had yet to have a growth spurt.
'who are you? i don't need any help.'
his brows were furrowed together and his voice filled with defensiveness - hyejin thought to herself that it would be entertaining to watch this stuck up boy act in a childish manner.
going against the prideful boy's wishes, she reached over his head to slide the book that he wanted out of the bookshelf.
it wasn't long before reams and reams of disgruntled refusals came flowing out his mouth.
'get out of my way'
well, he was certainly direct with the way he spoke and with his words.
'you're in the way-'
the exasperated boy did not get to finish his second rude remark before being smacked on the face by the book which he had so urgently wanted.
this is what you most definitely call karma.
'you should mind your manners kiddo'.
it barely took a second before an ear-splitting screech encompassed the whole house.

*contains spoilers for chp 138
βββββββββΏββββββββ
heartbreak wasn't something new for eren.
from a young age, he had been forced to fend for himself, living with regrets and the choices that he didn't make. if only he hadn't been so weak, maybe his mum wouldn't be up in heavens feigning a glare of disgust.
his father continued to live on his mind, frequently snapshots of his previous life play in his mind as he sat in a movie theatre with a bucket full of popcorn. not shortly after, the bucket would always begin to wriggle and eventually tip over as worms spilt out over the side finding refuge on the musty floor, replacing the buttery and warm popcorn that once used to reside within the container.
a hole burned in the centre of the screen and rapidly spread outwards, eating away at the memories of grisha. leaving only char and the smell of smoke behind. a black screen just stared back at eren. there was no film left to play yet he still sat there in desperation/hungrily for more. the story couldn't end like this.
genocide or total abandonment.
those were the two options. ironic how they were the polar opposites of each other but both left a section of humanity scarred.
what a decision to rest on a 19-year-old's shoulders, all he had done was a vow to take revenge on the monsters that took away his mother, his childhood, his hometown. never in a million year did the possibility that he was a said monster ever strike him until that fateful day, where the predicament he had been in, shone a light on his true self.
there had been many others like him but the stark difference was that they set out to work against him, pursuing different beliefs to his.
he wasn't sure when things started to become less interesting. the more he fought for freedom, the heavier he began to feel like the weight of the world around him came crashing down onto him, suffocating him.
he didn't scream nor did he complain. instead, he took on the role of the villain, he's the reason for everyone's pain, call him a scumbag, the most detestable man alive.
it's always easy to deflect the truth onto something as easy as a lie. it's effortless to make everyone loathe him and push those closest to him away. in order to make the loss of his presence go unnoticed when it was his time to fade away. there's no gap to fill if there was never one in the first place.
he only had 4 years left. those who held him dearly in their hearts had a countless amount of time which they couldn't spend mourning over a wilted flower that wouldn't rise again. no matter how many tears they flood the carcass of a plant with.
4 years to make everything right, those years were best used crafting a world suitable for his loved ones and one where many generations after him could prosper life in the beautiful landscape which earth had to offer.
armin free to frolic the oceans as he pleases, mikasa no longer tied down by the dying wishes of his parent to protect the boy. historia able to user her ability to reign as the powerful leader which resided within her.
the calm after the storm was coming soon, just a little longer. everyone just needed to survive just a little longer.
continue battling against the villain eren, who held the situation in his hands, able to manipulate the situation into anything he willed of it.
the day for freedom would come, maybe he wouldn't live to see it but he wouldn't die without trying. otherwise, all would be in vain. he had been deemed as humanity's last hope after all.
