Netflix, in a total Netflix move, canceled The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself.

Was anyone surprised?

I sure as hell wasn't. It's disappointing, obviously, but not at all surprising. This was a show that was not only almost universally praised by both fans and critics but was centered around a black, queer character. Did anyone actually think they were actually going to move forward with it?

I mean, this is how Netflix has operated for years now. Get people hyped up with the possibility of something different and new only to cancel it so that they can pursue a the cheap, easy option.

Netflix wonders why it's losing subscribers.

Why would they expect people to continue to pay for a streaming service that cancels the shows they signed up to watch in the first place.

Teen Wolf : The Movie and Wolf Pack.

I’m too old for this shit.

That’s it. That’s the review.

No, but in all honesty, if I have to be absolutely honest here: the movie isn’t bad. But it is passé. Maybe 10 years ago it would have been relevant, but today it just feels old.

Teen Wolf relied on two things: the ability to connect to kids by presenting their “reality” in the screen and the ability to connect to what they wished they were. In a way, Jeff Davis alliance with Sarah Michelle Gellar for Wolf Pack makes sense, because in Teen Wolf, Davis was following the formula that made Buffy so perfect: metaphorize the inner turmoil of growing up as supernatural fears. But it differed from the Buffy formula by making everyone special and distinct. That way the thing that you are afraid is also the thing that empowers you, a social discourse that we needed back in the 10s when the push for social equality and justice was more than needed.

But in a world post-Euphoria, what can you possibly show that makes us not cynical?

Because that is the problem. Series like Élite and Euphoria (and to a muuuuuch lesser degree Riverdale) show how fragile and dark are teenagers nowadays. Or maybe we have always been like that but our 90s cynism, the 00s hopeful future and the 10s desire for perfection never really let us be as authentic as we were. A thing that Gen Z is actually doing right.

And that is the problem. Scott’s story is irrelevant, the characters are struggling and yet, we never see them suffer that struggle. Which makes their plight feel un-interesting and boring. Again, a glamorized version of how we are meant to deal with our pain.

In that regard, it’s one of the things that I praised Rosewell, New Mexico and that not very few managed to understand. It really showed what we as young adults/adults have to deal with when we go through a pressured adolescence, the traumas we deal with, the fears that have sunk so deep and the disenchantment with the dream that everything was going to make sense when we were adults. All weaved through a tale of alienism that Teen Wolf seem to just... not be aware of it. Or even care about it. And that had the potential.

It is also very... clumsy on it’s execution. There are scenes that are missing and you can tell and then there are unused Chekov’s guns. So what use had all the silver that Parrish and Malia brought? Where was Malia’s tomahawk in the final battle? Why Jackson keeps talking about his claws and tails and never once turns? So, Liam and his best friend are not friends at all anymore or why do they act like they are complete strangers? It conveniently forgets it’s own lore when it’s needed (like the fact that Scott could potentially gave Allyson all of her memories back or that the freaking Kanima was bullet proof). I’ll give them that the main antagonist is a good call back, though not one surprising. (The second they said that they used chemical accelerant for a series of fires provoked I knew who was the mysterious man... though again, it makes no sense.)

And my final complain: they had to get rid of Derek. Just because.

One of the few great things of your saga and you shit on it.

I will admit that while Derek as a character had it’s flaws during TW’s run, looking at the whole arch, it made sense. He is a man who was raised into the idea of toxic masculinity. He represented the Gen X that we knew and the one that we didn’t want to turn into. Little by little, Derek realizes of his short comings and that anger is not a solution to everything. He develops other emotions and seeing him being a caring dad it’s the cherry on top: he made it! He pushed back against the idea that your nature defines you (a good discourse to have in the era where we are challenging gender stereotypes and finding new masculinities) and pulled out of the whole idea that men can only feel anger. Only to be unnecessarily killed in the end: if the Nogitsune needed to be held for Parrish to burn him, he could always push him down he’s a cop, he certainly knows how to restrain him. If the problem is that he could run they all had guns and knives to cut his limbs or damage them. Like, honestly... why did we need to have Derek there?

So, yeah... two hours of a large episode of Teen Wolf that was... meh if I want to feel generous.

And don’t get me started on Wolf Pack which is a thing that is boring and... absolute garbage. One complete hour where the plot advances so insignificantly and redundantly that it’s boring. With a cinematography that is mid at best and a cast of of actors who are more worried about looking god than actually acting. I’m sorry SMG, I freaking love you but... Ringer had more potential than this (because all the intrigue and drama could have served well in the original GG era) and you cut it’s throat. Hope you do the same for this one.

So, in general, there you have it. I would not recommend watching.

Anyways, they were supposed to film it this year, but they had busy schedules. Current plan is next year. Also Paul was hanging out with the director last month, so maybe something’s cooking. 4. Glitter & Doom - described as a summer romance musical feature told with the iconic tunes of folk duo Indigo Girls. Film follows a musician who wears charisma as camouflage and a carefree guy about to run away with the circus as they fall in love at first sight. Sounds fun. 3. Nuovo Olimpo - any Ferzan Özpetek fans? Any Manuel from Un professore fans? Well, looks like we won. Period drama set in Italy, following two men who have a chance encounter and then fall deeply in love, and then are torn apart. Directed by Andrew Haigh (Weekend, HBO’s Looking). Word on the street is that their characters will be romantically involved since Mescal's character corresponds to a woman who has a romance with the protagonist (Scott) in the original novel. We will be tuning in. 1. Bonus Track - film set in 2006, follows a small-town boy with dreams of being a gifted musician. When the son of an iconic musical duo enrols at his school, a powerful bond between the boys begins to grow. Based on an original story by Josh O'Connor (yes, him) and Michael Gilbert.

Anyways, that is it. There are a lot of movies that weren’t released THIS year yet, and I’m looking forward to them (Punch, Aristotle and Dante, Spoiler Alert,...). But I would be just repeating myself, so I’m not gonna talk about that.

I respectfully disagree with your last post (as an author). I’ve been in this fandom for 6 years and noticed it’s a little bit toxic when it comes to certain issues that should be normal and obvious to anyone.

I don’t get the “I choose the people I want to take criticism from” part. Ok, so why posting your work on a public page for independent writers where every subscriber will be able to read it and comment on it? Just send it to the people whose opinion matters to you and have a discussion about your work with them. If you post your work on a public page made specifically for independent writers, you are automatically posting it for everyone on that site. And every person has opinions on things and feels invited to express it if that particular thing is public and comments are open (I’m talking about respectful opinions, not slurs and offending someone).

If it was only for you and the people you actually want to get feedback from then wouldn’t it be easier to create an “élite” group where you read your work and then discuss it together? Because your post sends a very negative and exclusionary message to people that are reading your work for the first time or without knowing you as an author. It really seems like you are saying “dear readers, your opinion doesn’t matter to me so unless it’s positive I don’t want to hear it because this fanfic was written for me and this list of people.” Then don’t post it. But why making people feel excluded or bad because they did something normal just because they didn’t know it wasn’t written “for them” as you said in your post. And constructive criticism is just an opinion too as long as it doesn’t contain vulgarities, you don’t have to listen to it. Other’s opinion shouldn’t change the way you feel about your work but you also shouldn’t make them feel uncomfortable and bad for expressing it in a respectful way on a public page.

I know that authors on AO3 aren’t paid and that’s just for fun, but that’s what every page like AO3 is about: putting your work out there for other people to read with the possibility to express their personal opinion in a respectful way (I mean, you CAN disable the comments). Why making it public and then complaining and making other people feel bad for expressing their opinion on it? It’s not a diary or a personal Instagram profile.

So, first off, thank you for saying you respectfully disagree with me. I appreciate that you’re trying to be polite. 

There are many different ways I can answer this ask, because there’s a lot to discuss here, however, I’m exhausted by this conversation and have tackled it many times before, so I’ll link things when I see fit and get straight to the point.

My question for you is this: What is the purpose of you posting negative  (even though well-worded, polite, and tactful) unsolicited comments on a person’s fanfic? Why do you do it?

That’s not a rhetorical question, I really want you to think about the answer, because, for something to be called “constructive criticism” (which is specifically what we’re discussing here, versus the opposite “destructive” criticism) there has to be a point beyond just the fact that “it’s a public forum” and therefore, you feel entitled to express your opinion, whatever it may be. (That reasoning, btw, is called entitlement. No one said you weren’t allowed to have an opinion, but if you’re saying it to the author with no constructive, bettering purpose behind it, then at worst, your intent is to hurt them, which is just mean, no matter how politely you word it, and at best, you’re saying your opinions and preference take precedent over the author’s own.)

There are three reasons that I assume one can have when posting constructive criticism on work/art:

1. You want to help make them be a better writer, both now and in the future. 

I, and other fellow authors, explain why this doesn’t work here and here, and there are more posts about it like this one, if you need to hear it from voices that are not from the Larry fandom (which I assume you do, since you said this is a little bit toxic here particularly.) 

I encourage you to read all those posts, to get a better explanation in context, but the gist of them is this: for something to be truly constructive (synonym: helpful), the source, the timing, and the tact is key. Let me demonstrate: There is a difference between telling a friend while shopping, “I wouldn’t buy that dress, it’s not the most flattering on you,” and saying, while you’re out at a club, “Oh, that dress isn’t the most flattering on you, I wouldn’t wear it again.” -- Both are honest, worded politely, and both will achieve the same outcome: she will not wear the dress again -- but only one of them will cause undue stress, embarrassment, and self-consciousness (under the guise of being helpful), and that is all due to tact and timing. At the store, she can change into something else, and won’t assume you think she looks awful the entire day while you’re out. At the club, the damage is done, there is nothing she can do to change it, and you’ve just ruined her night.

The same goes for writing. I have seen people gracefully and willingly rewrite their entire first drafts based on astute and even harsh comments on their work, by their betas. I have never seen someone take down a fic and edit it based on a piece of constructive criticism given by a stranger on AO3. What I have seen based on that scenario, is people taking that criticism to heart and reflecting on whether or not they ever want to write again, because when they made themselves vulnerable, some people looked at it as an opportunity to ask for what would cater best to their own tastes, instead of appreciating the work as a true product of the author’s personal feelings and experiences. That results in less writers for the fandom, less content, and a whole lot of undue discouragement which is not something we want (nor is it actually constructive).

2. You want to engage the author in a deeper discussion of their work.

This is in direct answer to this part of your ask:

It really seems like you are saying “dear readers, your opinion doesn’t matter to me so unless it’s positive I don’t want to hear it because this fanfic was written for me and this list of people.”

You feel passionate (both positively and negatively) about my work? That’s lovely. I say, start a discussion with me. Ask me questions. Learn why I made those decisions. A discussion starts with an invitation to have a conversation (two ways, you say something, I say something, rinse repeat). It doesn’t start with “I didn’t like” or “This could have been better if”, and it certainly doesn’t start in a public forum, like the comments on AO3, where the writer runs the risk of looking like a defensive asshole. 

But India, you say, what if I don’t have the means to have a private conversation/the writer doesn’t have tumblr/they’ve long since been inactive in the fandom? The answers are, respectively: leave a polite comment asking if they’re willing to discuss, if they are willing to discuss, leave a polite comment asking how to contact them, and if they’re no longer active, find other friends with which to discuss your feelings in private.

But India, that seems like so much work. It is, flat out. But if you really felt that strongly about something I wrote, you would make that effort to understand it. Otherwise, why not just walk away?

3. You don’t know better.

I found this part of your ask extremely interesting:

The reason I found it interesting is because it means that there are people who assume that all work that is public was made for them, to suit their tastes, which is, frankly, a bizarre way to consume art. I do not go into The Louvre, look at the Mona Lisa and say “I don’t see the hype, it’s not something I would hang in my living room.” I look at it and think “What does this piece say about Da Vinci and his life? What has this brought to the world? How has this helped people/art/culture?”

(No, I am in no way comparing my talents to Da Vinci, I am not delusional. But, I don’t think my work deserves any less thought than that of a professional artist, simply because I’m an amateur and it’s on the internet and not in a gallery, and you have the superpower of anonymity.) You asked me what the point was in posting my work publicly if I didn’t want to hear every single person’s personal (negative) take on it, and the answer is this: I post what I write publicly, because I hope it helps someone. I hope my thoughts, feelings, experiences, loneliness validate someone, entertain them, help them through a tough time, bring them comfort. I post because I want to invite people to lose themselves alongside me, heal alongside me, dream alongside me. 

(Notice how I said “someone” and not “everyone”. How I said “someone” and not “an élite group that discusses my work”, because yes, I do hope that my work positively impacts someone outside of my betas, my friend group. Does that mean someone can leave negative comments on my work? Yes. But should they? That’s a different question.)

I know my work won’t be a positive experience for every single person, but my goal was never to be relevant to every single person. So, my question is, if I’m not relevant to you personally -- if my work doesn’t touch you personally, heal you personally, entertain you personally, why not just walk away and find something that does? Who does your negative opinion really help? How is it constructive? What is its purpose? Why do you do it?

I will apologize for this, though: I spoke on behalf of all writers, and maybe I shouldn’t have. Maybe I should have been clear that though many writers feel this way, not all do. There are some, such as, I assume, yourself, who do view negative comments on AO3 as constructive, whether or not they are solicited, and I’m sorry to have spoken on behalf of you. However, I do still stand by this, though: it is much better to be kind than be right, and that definitely goes for comments on fic.

Chapter Four:

In the dream, a pair of lustful green eyes glare at me from the dark...

The obnoxious sound my phone's alarm clock rings in my ear. I rub and open my eyes, the alarm of my phone notifying me consistently to wake up and prepare myself for the day. The first day. Work officially begins and I must be on the top my heels with everything. From managing the mansion's staff, to cleaning, as well and looking after the house. It shouldn't be too hard. Right?

I get out my outfit for today which is thankfully more casual than the others who mandatorily must wear suits and or maid dresses. I am privileged to wear more causal clothing, a white button up blouse, a black skirt, and my navy blue Toms. I put on reading glasses and braid my hair into a short pony tail before wrapping a silky and shiny baby blue hijab around my head. Of course I dabble my face with a little make up, eyeliner, and brown lipstick, so I can at least look slightly more fashionable. Honestly, I look like an assistant rather than someone who cleans and manages a mansion.

I enter into the living room of the suite and the girls are nowhere in sight, probably already starting to help the kitchen staff with breakfast for the boys. I open the door, about to enter the hallway when I pump into a what felt like a wall. He's a few inches taller than me and devilishly handsome.

His hair is dark, short, and wavy, and I can smell the nice smelling aftershave on his smooth face. He looks at me and I've never seen such a friendlier smile. His golden brown eyes are like ice, so cold and sharp, but everything about him is warm. He's dressed in a dark blue blazer with a black shirt underneath and ripped jeans.

"I'm sorry, I didn't see you there, miss...?" his Spaniard accent is strong, and I notice that both his hands still rest on my shoulders. After a few awkward seconds his cheeks heat up red and he quickly releases me from his grip.

I clear my throat.

"It's okay, um," I clear my throat again. "Who are you?" I ask sincerely. I must know who this stranger is. I didn't see him last night at dinner. Is he a brother? No, probably not, although he looks the part. But he is definitely more casual.

"I'm Samuel. Nice to meet you," he says and I shake his hand. "I am here to assist you. Mister Crisanto put you in charge of the staff. He put me to assistant alongside you in any way that I can make things easier for you." Samuel smiles. It's a warm and inviting smile. I nod my head slowly.

"I didn't know I'd be having an assistant."

"You'll need all the help you can get, I'm afraid." Samuel chuckles softly.

"I'm thankful. And I'm sure I'll need it. Well, how about breakfast...?" I tell him and he's just staring at me with his lips still stuck in a smile. After a few moments I guess my words have entered his ears and his eyes go wide.

"Oh, right! " he says, starting now towards the stairs. "Shall we?" he says.

"Of course." I walk towards him and we stroll down the stairs together.

"So how'd you get this job?" Samuel asks me as we walk down the hallway on our way towards the kitchen.

"Well, a professor of mine recommended me to take this high opportunity job, and I needed a high paying job and experience like this, so I took the chance. The benefits are spectacular. I've never been to London, and well...here I am." I smile to myself.

Samuel looks at me with much amazement. Silence creeps in and I decide to disrupt it.

"What about you? How'd you end up here?" I ask him and he shoves his hands into his pockets, his smile revealing his perfect white teeth.

"I'm a friend of the family, actually," says Samuel. "We're all just trying to make a living."  he finishes.

"Isn't that the truth." I huff.

After a few more minutes of walking, we near the kitchen, which is before the dining hall.

"Well, I'll see what's up in the kitchen and you check out the dining hall in preparation for set up." Samuel instructs and I oblige. He disappears into the kitchen and I walk further towards the dining hall, finally entering, and is soon disturbed because of the sight in front of me.

Half naked and clothed only in a matte black designer house-robe is, Guzmán. His naked chest bare with a thin gold necklace draped around his neck and laying on his large pecs, his perfect peachy skin glistening from the invading morning light. He sits in the chair inappropriately like a child. The trim of his boxers showing beneath his bellybutton, as his grey sweatpants that shape his legs are slouched down by an inch to display the brand of his boxers. Which are Calvin Klein...

His eyes snap up at me and a smirk grows on his face. He takes a green apple from the fruit bowl in front of him and slowly bites into it. The loud crunch is taunting and obnoxious, making me cringe. I'm sure the crunch could be heard all over the mansion. He munches on the apple while holding his gaze upon me. His lips are now plump, wet, and a deeper shade of pink. I bite my tongue and clench my fist, trying to grip onto the first thing to say that comes to mind.

"What are you doing?" is the only thing my brain could come with, and it's an incredibly stupid question.

"As you know, this is my home," Guzmán smirks. "And I'm eating an apple." he takes another bite out of the apple and his smirk grows to deride me.

Let me try firing a better question...

"I mean what are you doing sitting here half naked at the table? It's..."

"Obnoxious?" Guzmán adds.

"Even better." I reply.

"Abhorrent?" Guzmán continues while standing from the chair. I cross my arms and stand my ground.

"I couldn't agree more." I challenge him, my hands are on my hips now, and Guzmán inches himself closer to me.

"Repugnant?" he continues, getting closer. "Intolerable?" he's even closer, and I back away slightly but there is a wall behind me, meaning I'm trapped.

"Unpleasant?" he says, now standing in front of me. He's so much taller than me that I have to look up.

"Most definitely." I breathe, looking away. Guzmán leans closer to me.

"Dis-taste-ful?" he whispers into my ear, his breath on my neck. Why am I even allowing this?

"Are you finished, Mister Blanco?" I ask him and I hear him chuckle under his breath. "What's so funny?" I ask as he backs away from me, restoring my personal space.

"Mister Blanco is my father. You can call me, Guzmán, baby girl." he winks and my mouth hangs open.

"Excuse me?" I glare at him but it amuses him further.

"Or daddy, if you'd like." Guzmán winks again with a grin.

"Excu—, Why I...!" I scoff. Thankfully, before he could say anything, waiters and waitresses bring out plates of food and fancy eating utensils to spread on the table blanketed in white.

"Breakfast is served!" Carla, who is dressed cutely in her cleaning outfit, shouts and rings a bell as the staff sets up the food on the table. Guzmán's brothers enter the room, selecting their seats. Guzmán sits at the head of the table where his father sat last night, still sitting obnoxiously and munching on his apple, his green gaze still focused on me, trying to get beneath my skin.

"Everything alright?" I hear Samuel's voice and I turn around to see his friendly face, which immediately brightens my mood.

"Yes, of course," I give him an assuring smile and look back at Guzmán and his brothers as they all begin to eat breakfast.

LATER ON, THE DAY has become evening, and my first day was a success for the most part. Breakfast went surprisingly smooth as the rest of the day was a complete and utter day of bland. There wasn't much to do, but it felt like a lifetime of doing so. Floors needed to be swept, mopped, and waxed, the rooms dusted, books organized—things like that. Of course I took care of all of those things on my behalf. Managing the other staff to do lawn work and clean the pool and other parts of the house wasn't an easy fix either. As well as figuring out the meal plan. Crisanto seems to have a very distinct diet for him and his sons, so I want to make sure we live up to his dietary expectations.

It's about a quarter to seven when I am relieved from my duty and I head upstairs to my room. The other girls sought to go sight seeing in the city and shop around before we are to do dinner. I'm just going to get lost in a novel and probably go to sleep. I'll have plenty of time to check out the city of London during my stay here.

The house is silent as I walk through the eldritch hall. Not a soul to be seen or a sound to be heard, other than the sound of my shoes sliding against the smooth floor. Suddenly, a wave of laughter and squeaky shoes on the freshly waxed floors disrupts the silence and I stop, knowing exactly who it is.

The brothers.

Guzmán and his shirtless brothers are dressed in their basketball gear (by gear I mean shirtless and only wearing their sneakers and shorts), entering into the hall childishly. Their skin is glistening and sweaty, hair drenched and dripping. The brother, Ander, even uses his water bottle to pour water all over himself, drenching his curly hair further. I watch in annoyance as it slides down his chest like a waterfall. His brothers snicker and he sighs in relief at the surely cool sensation of his ice cold drinking water that is now all over the floor. I don't know what to be pissed about more, seeing Guzmán smirk at me menacingly, or the fact that Ander is wasting perfectly good water to pour onto himself, and making a puddle on the freshly cleaned floors that the staff and I worked hard on cleaning!

"Um, excuse me!" I storm towards the boys who are way taller than me and they look at me like I'm a lost child.

"Your highness?" Guzmán smirks and Ander and Polo poorly hide their grins. Valerio smirks, which is dark and seductive and honestly, a bit unsettling. Everything is just a game to them it seems.

"Maybe you don't care, but the staff and I worked very hard to clean the floors of this house. Maybe show a little respect by not pouring water onto it?" I try to make my voice as kind as possible.

"Oh you mean like this?" Guzmán opens his water bottle and pours the remainder of his drink on to the floor while looking directly into my eyes. His brothers look at one another, finding amusement in my shocked expression.

"We work hard for your house you know! You can't just mess up the floors when people worked hard to manage it!" I bark at Guzmán, who is rather entertained by this tribulation.

"You're right, this is my house," Guzmán chuckles, taking a step closer to me. "Which means I can do whatever the fuck I want," He is in front of me now, eyes aglow under the pristine lighting of the hall, staring deep into my soul. I flinch and he holds a deathly glare, but I can see the delight dancing around in his eyes and lips. "And you know what else is mine? You and everyone else who works for me. Meaning whatever mess I make, you have to clean it the fuck up." Guzmán drops his empty water bottle on the ground and walks away with his brothers following after him. "Have fun!" he laughs while walking away, his brothers following after him, and also tossing their empty bottles on the ground. All except Valerio...

I stand there for a moment fighting back the tears. I bend down to retrieve the water bottles, cleaned up the mess, and ran straight into my room. Never have I felt so disrespected and humiliated in my entire life, and even worse, defeated. I'm not used to biting my tongue, but I have to if I want to make my earnings and leave a desirable impression. Just when I have gotten comfortable and about to start reading my favorite novel, The Secret History, my phone rings.

"Hello?" I croak into the phone.

"Hey, Nadia! How are you honey? Is the job going well?" It's dad. What do I tell him? That everything is going great? Or I just got madly degraded by a really attractive prick of a rich boy? Of course I go with the first option. "Everything is going fine, baba. The house is beautiful." I tell him.

"That's really good Nadia, me and your brother miss you. Omar is here, would you like to speak to him?" I think for a moment. Hearing Omar's voice would really make my day. "Yes of course, put him on the phone!" I tell him and a few seconds later I hear him.

"Hey doofus." the rough and familiar voice of Omar makes me smile.

"Hey weasel," I tease him with the nickname he detests and I hear his soft chuckles over the phone.

"I told you never to call me that," he laughs and I imagine his bright smile. I've been gone a day and I already miss my brother and baba so much.

There's a few moments of silence, nothing but our soft breathing.

"Is everything alright, Nadia?" he finally says and I wipe tears from my eyes, not allowing them to consume me.

"I'm already missing home." I admit to him.

"Give it some time, sis, you'll do great. Don't let those rich assholes best you down. You're a Shanaa. A bad bitch. You got this." Omar says and I instantly feel better.

"You're right," I wipe more tears away and exhale. "I got this."

"And," Omar lowers his voice. "Ring me up if there's any cute boys available."

"Will do," I half laugh. I guess I'll talk to you later, yeah?" I say.

"Yeah sis, I'll talk to you later. Just be cool." he says and we both hang up the phone.

I toss my phone to the side and bury my face into my book, drifting off until I finally fall asleep.

a/n: someone asked for this, I hope I didn’t let you down. I honestly don’t know where that came from. I have a strange mind and even stranger imagination. So, enjoy! 🌿

Arón Piper x reader 🌿

There are so many things going on in the world right now that you can’t even keep the step up with them. First, Italy confronts with this virus-thing and then you heard numbers too big for you to understand. More than nine hundred of deaths in one day in Italy, those news gave you goosebumps. Then you heard the news about Spain having a bad situation as well. You’ve been carefully every time, but this couldn’t keep you inside for more than four days, otherwise you’d go nuts. So when your best friend, Miguel, called and said that he and some friends wanted a gathering to watch together the new season of Élite, you accepted immediately. Inside Jorge’s apartament in Madrid were nine people and a cat, and the place was almost overcrowded. Two episodes and thirteen songs later, the news about a total lockdown and Spain being closed, gathered you in front of the TV. You are not allowed to leave the house , except for emergencies so even if you tried, you couldn’t reached your apartament, is like in the opposite side of Madrid.

“It’s not a big deal, right? We can get over this together.” Jorge told you and it was an subtle invitation to stay over. And you did stayed. The truth is, you were afraid of this situation and you didn’t want to get through this alone. You weren’t the only one thinking like that so you decided to manage this situation together. Danna was supposed to fly back in Mexic to be with her family, but the flight was cancelled. 

 Though you knew this people before, staying so many days together, you got to know them even better, for example how are they in their private space. A few days later, you finished the last season of Élite and all the food in the apartament. Day five of quarantine bring a bore bigger than the Empire State Building. You slept almost all day and ate, ghosting here and there. Danna let you borrow some clothes from her luggage but today you only could find dresses and fancy clothes. 

“Can somebody borrow me a t-shirt or something?” Ester just washed the laundry and now you need to wait them to dry. You weren’t the only one who wasn’t prepared for so many days away from home, you packed, just in case, for three days. Miguel, Omar and Álvaro weren’t prepared as well, but gladely they could count on Jorge and Arón. The latter was supposed to go visit his father’s family in Germany, but his flight was cancelled as well so he got stuck with you.

“I think I still have some clean ones in my baggage. You can look and take anything you like.” Arón responded from the window frame. He smokes too much when he is bored. And drinks. It’s already the third beer and the night just started. But you don’t want to say anything because it’s none of your business. You must addmit he is the one that caught your attention since the day one. You stalked him on Instagram a few days ago, trying to find something about him, maybe some pictures with a girlfriend or anything, but it´s nothing much. He keeps his life privately and that’s a thing you admire most at him. 

Surprisingly, he has an ordonate luggage and you find rapidly a t-shirt. He had many from expensive brands. You loved one shirt from Monclair, and said “why not?”, he said you could take anything you like. You screamed “Gracias, Arón!” and went for a shower.

After a warm shower, the anxiety started to spread from your body. When you dressed Arón’s t-shirt, a strage feeling attacked you and made you stare at the image in the mirror. You are wearing a shirt that isn’t yours, is a hot boy’s shirt, which fits you strangely perfect. And this smell... the smell of his cologne haunted you these days, but now is closer than ever and you can enjoy it without raising question marks from anyone. However you wished you could smell it from Arón while he is hugging you. “Nonsense, I am getting nuts!” you thought. But this handsome man would help your fantasies only growing day by day. You shooked your head and walked out of the bathroom, just to found everyone sitting round the coffee table.   

“Finally, we thought you died inside and we were just tossing a coin to see who had to rescue you.”  Miguel laughed and made some space for you to sit next to him.

“Good choice, that one is my favourite!” Arón winked at you and took a sip from a cocktail. 

“Ah, lo siento, I didn’t knew! I can change it if you want.” you said quickly, panicked. He smiled at you and waved his hand as in “keep it”.

“So, the rules are simple. Truth or dare. You don’t make any of them, you receive a punishment, alright?” they decided to play this game to animate a little this flat. All day you almost ignored each other and it wasn’t a wise movement. The depression started to fill in and Jorge, because it was his idea to keep all of you there, was feeling responsable for you bad mood. You played Poker three nights in a row, then “Uno” and even “Activity”. You won at Poker and made Arón kinda mad, but unfortunately lost at the other ones. You and Miguel are not a good pair for games. Jorge spinned the empty beer bottle which pointed Álvaro.

“Aye, amigo, truth or dare?” Jorge smiled wickedly.

“Truth.” Álvaro’s response came and everyone mumbled “chicken” at him. He rolled his eyes and waited for a question.

“What scene did you like filming the most?”

“That sex scene in the pool with you and Georgina.” the answer came and the laughs didn’t waited to burst. Then Álvaro had to dare Mina. “Drink that beer from one sip.” And Mina didn’t think twice before she grabbed the bottle.

“Easy with the beers, alright? There are not many left!” Arón attentioned all of you.

“Sure, we ran out of food and you are worried about the beers.” you like very much to provoke him. Arón looked at you menacing. When Mina spinned, Omar picked the truth.

“What is the funniest memory you have from the set?”

“From season 3?” he asked and Mina approved. “Maybe the one when I was supposed to mime a blowjob and he couldn’t stop laughing. I was bouncing my head up and down for a damn take until I’ve literally got dizzy.” he pointed at Arón and laughed while accepted the middle finger. You tought for a minute, that middle finger is like a signature for him, is one of the many specific things for him. 

“You blame me for laughing but you made some funny sucking noises!” Arón defended himself and you laughed even louder. Despite the noises, Omar could hear Miguel when he chose dare and it wasn’t a great idea.

“Mime a sex scene with anyone in this room.” Omar spoken out the final verdict. Miguel picked you up, despite the fact that you refused to do that with him. You wear some kind of short jeans, but they looked more like underwear, so when Miguel made you bend on one of the countertops, you looked like you were naked. He put his hands on your waist and mimed the “in and out” move behind your back.

“Come on, (y/n), you have to moan to make it credible!” Miguel pinched your arm and that made you sceam. “Well, that wasn’t really a moan, but it was better than nothing!” you could hear everyone laughing behind your back. When the torture finally ended, you faced Miguel with anger.

“I hate you for this!” you said, but he just laughed and passed you so he can also spin the bottle. Arón had a strange look on his face. You didn’t know if it was embarrassment or anger or any other feeling, but something bothered him. The bottle stopped in front of Arón and he choses truth. “What are your top three turn-ons?” Miguel looked at you after he spoke and winked. “Puta mierda!” you thought. Now everyone would know something is going on with you. The truth is you have a crush on Arón and Miguel kinda figured it out. The way he smiles, the way he moves, the way he smokes, everything is so perfect at him. Beside the amazing look, he have a good heart too, he’s a funny one and you find yourself some things in common with him.

“Wearing matching lingerie, playing with my hair and maybe the smell of food cooking.” he answered and it heard some of them whistling while and you almost turned red like a tomato. You are a shy one and dirty stuff made you turn red like a tomato every time.

When the bottle pointed you, almost frozed. Someone out there hates you for some reason, you thought. Arón is the last person you would have wanted to ask you. He smiled wickedly at you, licked his lips and made you pick truth or dare. You choose truth, obviously. “Who here would you most like to make out with?” he asked. ¡Joder!, he’s good at it.

“Pure curiosity or you have something in mind?” you challenged him, smiling like a devil.

“Are you gonna answer that or you want to let me find the answer by myself?” he’s not yielding either.

“I’ll wait to see how long would it take you to find out.”

“Fine, dare. Let two people give you a wet willy at the same time.” you crossed the nose.

“¡Joder!, that is gross! No, absolutely not!” you shooked your head.

“Then you need a punishment, (y/n).” someone finally interrupted the stare contest you and Arón unknowingly held. You found out it was Jorge.

“A punishment given by whom?” you hoped from the bottom of your heart not to hear Arón’s name. Not this time.

“Arón. And you are not allowed to reject this one.” ¡Joder!, it was like the game was against you.

You were convinced that he doesn’t stand you a bit, and now he’s asking you to lockup with him seven minutes to what? Maybe he wanted to tell you to go home. You haven’t really talked to him much and you didn’t know him, but you can say, watching him from distance, he is a great man. And that “bad ass” face and attitude he always shows up, it’s just a mask. You thought he is the sweetest person inside there, because he let you somehow see a little of that side. But you had so many question marks. For something you were sure, you had his attention like he got yours. You couldn’t get him off of your head and that drives you crazy.

“Fine, seven minutes in hell. Ah, perdona me, I wanted to say heaven.” you played pretend because you didn’t had any clue what the hell he have in that beautiful head and just at the thought about staying seven minutes only with him, in a small place, made your stomach hurt in a way it never did before. You followed him into the bathroom and then he locked the door behind you. You wasn’t expecting the bathroom to be this small, but him with his big worked out body, occupies a lot of space. Your mouth was dry and you literally couldn’t help but stare at his lips. If you were uncertain about the answer to that question he asked you, now you are a hundred percent sure he’s the one that turns you on.

“You know, I think I found the answer to that question.” maybe he figured out on his own, because maybe you didn’t know how to play pretend, or maybe around him you can’t control yourself.

“Oh yeah, what’s the answer then?” you looked him bravely in his beautiful brown eyes.

Two completely unrelated questions:

1. how do you feel about the new season of Gossip Girl, idk but it comes off as a little stale to me

2. Do you like living in London? Everyone in the states romanticizes it and it’s my dream city but I want a real perspective from someone who lives there

ohhh, two very different topics that I have lots of opinions on! 1. I think the GG reboot sucks, mostly. I think all of the characters, so far, are almost identical and they took away the most interesting aspect of it all: rich people being unapologetically selfish and shitty. I don't want self-aware #woke rich teens who are super PC and aware of their privilege. That's BORING! That said, I am somewhat intrigued by the poly couple, an idea they obviously stole from Élite and other recent teen shows but hey, the actors have chemistry. And there's nothing else on TV, so, yolo. 2. London was always my "dream" city too! I've only lived here for 2.5 years but I don't regret the move at all. I think the reality of the city is a bit different to the glossy picture you see as a tourist but overall I really love it and don't see myself moving for a while. pros - literally so international, I feel culture shock every time I leave London and go to other English cities because I'm like huh this place is so white and English

- there's ALWAYS something to do (when there isn't a global pandemic) and I promise you will absolutely always find someone who's up for a drink/a yoga class/a walk/whatever the fuck cool thing you wanna do

- London's insanely convenient. Basically a smaller New York with better public transport. Also super well positioned for international and domestic travel. Having 4-5 airports around that you can easily reach in less than an hour is amazing.

- the vibe is impeccable. no, I will not elaborate on this point but... the vibe checks out.

cons (this list looks long but isn't, I just like complaining)

- I tend to forget about this (read: I'm in denial) but it's expensive. Rent is intense, many people live with roommates until they're in their 30s. (though check con #2 for a possible reason other than saving money) You'll be able to afford a decent lifestyle in most careers because salaries are similarly high, though. IDK, as a city brat I'm used to dropping absurd amounts of money on grocery deliveries and all that. IMO the expensiveness is overhyped, I don't feel it much and I'm not making super *insane* amounts of money in my corporate BS job.

- It can be really hard to make friends and will take a while to establish a real circle of friends. It's a big city, so even some of my friends who I knew before moving here live an hour away aka all the way across town. People are busy with their careers and dating like 300 strangers at once (I will never get that) - meaningful connections are hard to come by. This is 100% why so many adults choose to live with roommates even though they could afford to live on their own. This is a bit easier if you work with cool people, and many people will meet their friends through work.

- SO MANY FUCKING PEOPLE EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME. I am currently seeing the resurgence of this, with Covid mandates running out and people feeling more comfortable out in public again, and I don't wanna know what it'll be like once tourists are back. Expect lines for virtually all popular bars, restaurants, activities, whatever and lots of very uncomfortable train rides where you feel like you can't move or breathe.

TLDR: If you get the opportunity to visit London or move over, take it! I think it's a really cool experience, and having lived in European countries that were cool but where I didn't speak the language, it helps that it's English speaking - you'll have an easier time with bureaucracy and making friends.

Everyone fights with each other because they're unable to advocate for one marginalized/oppressed group’s rights without ignoring another of those groups and/or labeling as "infiltrators" and "traitors" to a third group; they compare their own system -fundamentally corrupt, murderous and bloodsucking- with the mostly better and still largely "salvageable" systems that rule the rest of the world’s countries, and after drugging themselves into oblivion to ease the pain of living in their s***hole country (without ever considering the option of packing their bags and seeking asylum at an embassy or just GETTING THE F*** OUTTA THERE AND START A NEW LIFE SOMEWHERE BETTER), they begin to shout their neo-hippie delusions: that Democracy per se is and has always been a fraud since the ancient Greeks invented it; that participating in Politics will corrupt you no matter how upright you are or how strong your convictions are; that the only alternative is a half-Anarchist half-Bolshevik revolution (you can tell they never heard of Peronism, which would give them better ideas on how to create a better United States); that the only valid method of changing the world is to go protest, beat up a random cop and resign yourself to merely trying to survive while the elites they're supposed to fight are still laughing at them from the balconies of Wall Street; that today's world is nothing more than a dystopian hellscape where corporations have owned absolutely everything for a long, long time; that the very concepts of gender, heterosexuality and conforming to the gender assigned at birth are Heresy, and that we have to live in pathetic villages, work the land with our own hands, give up technology and everything material, have orgies, sacrifice our personal ambitions and suppress our nature for fear of corrupting ourselves and creating yet another “capitalist dystopia”, only because a thousand people out of a total of at least 7 billion had the idea of manipulating capitalist ideas and human nature to use them as instruments to literally become absolutist kings of the Earth and casually that thousand of motherf***ers were heterosexual, cisgender & neurotypical.

*sigh* I'm back. Everything is fine. I was really in dire need of venting some stuff. Anyway...

Now I'm giving Tumblr a try for the third time. I’ll probably create a "secondary blog" where I’ll put everything political (if I ever do), while using this blog (the main one, I guess) for everything else: posting my own art, literature, story ideas, headcanons and opinions on all kinds of things, and reblogging art and things I may find interesting, curious or just funny/hilarious.

Estadounidenses y algunos canadienses y británicos poniéndome de los nervios cuando se ponen a hablar de Política. Ahora estoy probando con Tumblr por tercera vez. Probablemente crearé un “blog hermano” donde meteré todo lo político (si es que alguna vez lo hago), y usaré este blog (el principal, supongo) para todo lo demás: postear mi propio arte, literatura, ideas para historias, headcanons y opiniones sobre todo tipo de cosas, y rebloguear arte y cosas que me parezcan interesantes, curiosas o simplemente graciosas.

30 Days of Élite Fic ♛ Day 8: Friend Pairing: Rebe x Carla Rating: E Notes: Because in this fandom we have to make our own wlw! Smut but missing the best parts (...it would take very little to persuade me to continue, wink wink). 

Rebe doesn’t know how they ended up together in the back room of the club. 

It’s a room she’s been in plenty of times before, taking advantage of its seclusion and dim lighting. She’s no stranger to escaping to that room for a fleeting act of passion, all grasping and sweating and panting until they dressed themselves again, checked their reflections in the floor-to-ceiling mirror, and parted ways into the sea of dancing bodies.

She knows Carla has done the same. Even with the boy she used to daydream of kissing, as lame as it sounds. But right now, Samuel is the last thing on their minds. 

Carla has ended up perched on the edge of the counter, out of breath, Rebe standing between her legs. Rebe can tell it makes her uncomfortable to be in this position, and she relishes it: Carla is used to being the one to order her partners around, to get her way and always be in control. Rebe supposes it’s that way in every aspect of her life. 

She smirks, taking a moment to look the smaller woman in the eyes. Carla’s pupils are dilated, the black almost obscuring the crystal blue irises. 

Carla has never had anyone to challenge her. Until now. 

Rebe’s hand slides up Carla’s spine, giving her chills, and comes to rest at the nape of Carla’s neck. She takes hold of a fistful of Carla’s hair, not pulling hard enough to hurt, but just so she gets an idea of how things are going to work. 

Carla doesn’t react, just looks expectantly up at Rebe with a sweet, innocent look in her eyes. It pisses Rebe off almost as much as it turns her on. 

“We’re not going to tell anybody about this, right?” Rebe says, leaning in to smell Carla’s intoxicatingly luxurious scent. 

“I’m no stranger to keeping secrets,” Carla replies suavely. 

Rebe shifts her leg so that it brushes between Carla’s thighs, and Carla tries but fails to conceal the jolt of pleasure that shoots through her, making Rebe chuckle. 

Rebe is the kind of girl that Carla never thought she’d end up in this position with. Not that she ever really thought she’d end up in this position with a girl, but that’s beside the point. Rebe is heedless, she’s rebellious, she’s fierce. She’s everything that Carla has rarely been exposed to in her cultured, proper life. And as much as she doesn’t want to, she finds that hot. 

But she doesn’t want to let her have control. 

Despite the restriction of Rebe’s fingers entangled in her hair, Carla buries her face in the taller girl’s neck, smoothing over her pale skin with her tongue before beginning to kiss and nibble at the area fervently. Rebe gasps, taken aback by Carla’s sudden eagerness, and the momentary lapse of attention is sufficient for Carla to free herself from her grip enough to stand up and spin them around. 

“Well played,” Rebe says. “What are you going to do now?” 

Carla weighs her options for a moment, taking in all of the tall, ridiculously fit body before her. But when Rebe licks her lips, Carla is left without a choice. 

She slams her mouth against Rebe’s, wasting no time in opening her mouth to deepen the kiss. Their tongues wind around each other in a frenzy as they let the heat take over their bodies. Rebe’s kisses are like none Carla has ever experienced before: insistent, passionate, but with the characteristic softness only a woman could possess. 

Losing themselves in the kiss, their hands explore each other’s bodies. Palms slide over slim waists, daring to edge down toward hips or up toward the tantalizing curve of the other’s breasts. Neither of them are holding back anymore. 

They fumble with each other’s clothes, suddenly frustrated by the layers of fabric that are still in their way. Carla manages to push Rebe’s top up, and as luck would have it, she has nothing underneath. Without hesitating, Carla takes one of Rebe’s nipples into her mouth, circling it with her tongue while massaging the other breast with her hand. She does all the things she knows she likes herself, hoping they have the same effect on Rebe, and from the soft moans coming from above her, it seems to be working. 

Rebe isn’t a passive lover, however, far from it. She hikes up Carla’s skirt, running her hands all over her thighs and creeping toward her core. They stumble around, too drunk on pleasure to keep their balance, until Carla’s back hits the cold wall, her head jerking up to look Rebe in the eye again.

Rebe laughs too, shoving her in the shoulder. “Is that what you say to someone who just made you cum like that?” she teases. “I should’ve known to expect that from you.” 

Having fixed their outfits and their hair enough to be presentable, both girls step toward the door. But Carla pauses for a moment, then in one quick motion, pulls Rebe in by the waist and presses their lips together one last time. 

“I’ll see you around,” Carla says, smiling, and she opens the door to rejoin the party. 

Rebe just stands there for a long moment, trying to process everything that just happened. Had she and Carla really just…? She smiles to herself, shaking her head in disbelief. 

It’s only then that Samu crosses her mind, and the irony isn’t lost on her. If only he knew what he’d missed out on.

As 2020 is nearing, it’s time to see what 2019 has brought us when it comes to gay representation in tv shows and movies. Below ‘read more’, there’s a whole list of tv shows/ships/movies (with pictures and basic description) which include/are about gay (used as an umbrella term) men and couples (so basically have gay storylines and at least one gay person is a main character of the show/movie).

Since I’m a gay man, I keep up mostly with mlm, if I included wlw as well, I don’t think the list would be complete with my lack of knowledge, so sorry about that. I’m pretty sure there are more competent people who can do that instead of me.

TV SHOWS

TV SHOWS WITH TITULAR/CENTRAL GAY CHARACTERS/SHIPS

The Other Two: the funniest most-relatable show centered around three siblings – one of them is gay (left). A must-watch for sure. He’s pretty much the hugest part of the show, there are some love storyline (...and they were roomates), some self-loving moments and iconic lines. Just watch it, you won’t regret it.

Sex Education: show about two best friends, one of them (right) is gay. His name is Eric and he gets involved with his enemy Adam (left). Amazing show.

Special: show about a gay man Ryan (right) with mild cerebral palsy, who wants to live his life as an independent person to the fullest. Easy and short show to watch.

Druck (German SKAM Remake): if you don’t know SKAM, it’s pretty much a show where each season is devoted to one character. Third season of German SKAM aired this year and it was revolved around a gay guy (left). For the first time in SKAM history, the main character’s love interest is a trans guy (right).

Skam France (French SKAM Remake): the French version of SKAM had a gay season this year as well. 

WTFock (Belgian SKAM Remake): Belgium has a season focused on the main gay character this year as well.

El corazón nunca se equivoca: I’m pretty sure you’ve heard of Aristemo from ‘Mi marido tiene más familia’. Well, they’d already aired the first season of the new spin-off centered around their lives in college (I think).

Merlí: Sapere Aude: Bruno (left) and Pol (right) fans, it’s time to make some noise. Brunol is coming back because Pol is getting a spin-off which will be taking place in university. Bruno will be in it as well. First episode airs on 5th of December this year.

Pose: second season of Ryan Murphy’s popular show with main transgender and gay characters has aired this year.

The Politician: another show from Ryan Murphy was created. The main protagonist of the show (right) is played by Ben Platt and he’s gay. The show contains many LGBT+ main characters.

Tales of the City: the revival of the Tales of the City sequence of miniseries aired this year. The show includes many LGBT+ storylines.

The L Word: Generation Q: the revival of The L Word show will air on 8th of December this year. The show is mainly about lesbians, but based on trailer, there will be a gay couple included as well.

Years and Years: very futuristic show with a political message. Includes both mlm and wlw as main characters.

The Red Line: the plot of this show involves a white cop in Chicago who mistakenly shoots and kills a black doctor named Harrison. Harrison had a husband (left) and daughter (right). The show deals with the consequences of the event.

Now Apocalypse: all I’m gonna say is that Beck from Victorious got to make out with Scott from Teen Wolf, Matty from Awkward and Jake from Glee. The show was renewed for second season and later this statement was taken back and it got cancelled – which I guess says enough about the show.

This Close: the show is about two best friends who are deaf. One of them (left) is gay and has a storyline and spicy scenes with the guy on the right and some other guys as well. 

Schitt’s Creek: David (right) and Patrick (left) aka the cutest softest couple of all time. The last season of the show will air next air. Watch the show if you wanna laugh and watch the healthiest gay couple on tv. They also got engaged this year, which was beautiful.

NEW TV SHOWS (1 SEASON) WITH MAIN GAY CHARACTERS/SHIPS

Daybreak: both main characters and basically on different sides of the battles. Who wouldn’t want to watch enemies being in love Romeo & Juliet style.

El Juego de las Llaves (The Game of Keys): very interesting and fun show to follow, the one on the right is the main character. He’s closeted, has a girlfriend and gradually realizes there’s something else out there. Nice kissing scenes, plus one very spicy scene. Doesn’t hurt that the guy on the left he will be involved with looks like a dollar store Chris Evans if you squint hard enough.

Five Bedrooms: 5 strangers moves in. The guy in the middle is gay. His mom is a very traditional Indian woman who just wants grandchildren. The whole show is heart-warming and sad at times. The guy gets fair share of screentime and some love interests including a cop from the neighbourhood.

Made In Heaven: Indian show that follows the lives of Tara and Karan (left), two wedding planners in Delhi running an agency named Made in Heaven. Karan is gay. Very progressive show with spicy gay scenes.

What/If: haven’t seen the show yet but friends said these two have a nice storyline in the show. Threesome included.

Bonding: show about two best friends Pete (left) and Tiff (right). Pete is gay. They basically... do freaky shit for work... umm. Just watch trailer or something.

Osmosis: I have no idea what the show is about but the guy on the left is set to betrying to find a soulmate or something. I think I remember seeing some spicy scenes.

Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists: basically some gay romance with the guy on the right and someone else. The one on the left dies the first episode so I did not even bother after that. But you can be the judge of it.

Doom Patrol: Larry (left) is a superhero, kinda. There’s something haunting his past, though. Something that involves being gay.

The Umbrella Academy: Klaus (left) my favorite character. He’s kind of a hero along with his other siblings. There’s a deep gay storyling along the way.

Weird City: anyways... all I’m gonna say is that Dylan O’Brien played a gay for one episode in a show. Wish there wasn’t this huge ugly age difference.

Roswell, New Mexico: cowboys, aliens, bisexuality, homosexuality and all that. Didn’t really see the show but there’s a lot of content with these two.

Good Trouble: never saw the sow but the guy on the picture is a main bisexual characters. There are some mlm scenes.

The Society: Grizz (right) and Sam (left) literally the highlight of the show. Just watch it, it is worth to see it for both of them. Sam is also deaf. The show is basically about a bunch of teenagers getting stuck in a town with no one else in or around.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series: The High School Musical tv show has just started airing on Disney+. Carlos (left) is confirmed to be gay and to be getting a nice development this season which will probably involve Seb (right) as well.

The Heights: Australian tv show. Sully (left) is gay. Got a thing for Ash (right) at the start. Then things were messy. Then they suddenly kissed. And the things are messy again.

El Club (The Club): very interesting show. The gave these two really (like REALLY) spicy scenes. Some romantic stuff. But there’s really not much depth in my option. Check and see.

Volevo fare la rockstar: didn’t see it but it’s an Italian show and there’s a romantic storyline between these two.

No Good Nick: Jeremy (right) came out this year on this sitcom. Nice and very weid sitcom. Unfortunately it was cancelled, but the way they handled his gay storyline was rather nice.

World on Fire: follows lives of ordinary people from Britain, Poland, France, Germany and the USA during World War II. Two of them are gay. And yeah one of those two is Will from sense8.

TV SHOWS (1 SEASON+) WITH MAIN GAY CHARACTERS/SHIPS 

Andi Mack: the show that made history. Andi Mack is a Disney Channel show and for the first time in Disney Channel history, Cyrus (right) came out using the word ‘gay’ and made it official with the recurring character TJ (left) this year. The two-season slow-burn was really worth it.

Shadowhunters: Malec got married this year. Yay.

Grey’s Anatomy: Levi and Nico still going strong.

La Casa de las Flores (The House of Flowers): despite the first season making it seem like it was the end for Diego and Julián, that’s not the case. In season 2, they’re stronger than ever, the scenes are spicier than ever and the show is gayer than ever.

Baby: first season was mostly focused on Fabio (face on right) realizing he’s gay. The second season has shockingly showed us that Brando (face on left) is gay as well. Very toxic ship so if you enjoy Gallavich this is probably for you.

Élite: Omar and Ander continuing their journey.

Shameless: Ian (up) and Mickey (down) came back to Shameless season 10 as main characters. About time.

Station 19: new love interest (left, a deaf character portrayed by a deaf actor) was introduced for Travis (right) in the season 2 finale. Let’s see what happens in season 3, which airs in 2020.

Ackley Bridge: they pretty much baited us with Cory (left) and Naveed (right) this season. They stayed just friends, but Naveed found a love interest, so that’s nice.

Find Me In Paris: Never saw the show, but Jeff (on the picture) is gay and his love interest Isaac gets introduced in second season that aired this year.

13 Reasons Why: Tony and Caleb going strong. It was also revealed that Monty (right) is a closeted gay and had a storyline with Winston (left). There’s probably more to come with them in next season. 

Insatiable: unfortunately they didn’t serve much Bob (right) & Bob this year. But they introduced detective Rudy (left) and there were some scenes and twists and turns. Whatever.

Riverdale: I don’t care. Kevin (left) is still there. There are some gay charcters based on wiki, but yeah. Crumbs, I bet. Whatever.

Charité: second season (which has the two main gay characters) takes place in Berlin in 1943. You don’t need to watch the first season at all, to understand the second one with them, it’s basically a stand-alone.

Animal Kingdom: Deran and Adrian’s story coming to an end?

The Magicians: Well, they killed off the central bi character Quentin (on the picture), so fuck them. 

How to Get Away With Murder: Connor (left) and Oliver (right) still there.

Dear White People: haven’t seen it, but Lionel (on the picture) is still there and he’s gay.

Zoe Valentine: there’s this web series and these two have a storyline in second season that aired this year.

SOAP OPERAS AND TELENOVELAS

Sturm der Liebe: Boris (left) and Tobias (right) are married and lived happily ever after. Really cute and sometimes dramatic storyline overall. Check it out.

Malhação: Vidas Brasileiras: Santiago (left) and Michael (right) had a gay storyline but the show ended this year.

Malhação: Toda Forma de Amar: Guga (right) and Serginho (left) have a gay storyline in the show.

Eastenders: Ben (left) and Callum’s (right) storyline has begun this year.

Neighbours: David (right) and Aaron (left) aka husbands still in the soap.

REALITY SHOWS

Queer Eye: five gay guys helping others. Season 3, 4 and a special have aired this year.

Are You the One?: for the first time in the show’s history, season 8 of this dating reality show had an all-sexually fluid cast this year. Which means mlm and wlw and anything else. Really fun show.

MOVIES

Benjamin: don’t even remember what the movie was about but I rec because it was cute and I mean hello Merlin.

Boy Erased: homosexuality and religion. Has a Troye Sivan in it. Very decent movie.

And Then We Danced: my favorite gay movie of this year. All the things they had to do to be able to film this in homophobic Georgia (the country)... just wow. It’s a must-watch.

Who Would You Take to a Deserted Island?: didn’t know what to expect from this movie. It is based on a play and it shows. Watch and be the judge of it. The acting was really highlight of the movie.

This Is Not Berlin: hasn’t seen it yet since it was just officially released. But it is included in an LGBT+ section so... hopefully they didn’ lie.

Rocketman: movie about Elton John with Taron Egerton and Richard Madden... I mean, phew.

Un Rubio (The Blonde One): gonna watch this, apparently it’s amazing based on what some of my mutuals have said.

The Death and Life of John F. Donovan: Jon Snow being gay and kissing Chris Zylka. Made by Xavier Dolan. A literal tripple threat. Genuinely enjoyed the movie and the soundtrack.

Ranchlands: haven’t seen this but my friend said it’s amazing.

Steam Room Stories: this movie was something... Eating Out levels of ‘I-’ but without all the sex. I guess watch this if you are bored.

Posledice (Consequences): very spicy and intriguing movie. Slovenia snapped with this one.

Papi Chulo: didn’t like this movie and the concept of it but... you can check out and see for yourself.

Dolor y gloria (Pain and Glory): Antonio Banderas kissing a man. Hopefully it really is a gay-related movie because I haven’t seen it yet.

Die Stropers (The Harvesters): brilliant cinematography but I expected much more from the movie.

Giant Little Ones: what happens when you’re into your best friend’s sister but the best friend gives you a BJ. Well... watch and see.

Kanarie (Canary): a war musical about a small town boy who gets chosen to serve his compulsory two year military training in the South African Defence Force Choir and Concert. Loved the involvement of the Boy George music, aesthetic and story. One of my favorites this year. 

Luciérnagas (Fireflies): haven’t seen it yet but the description says that the main gay character (right) “flees from persecution in Iran and ends up living in the tropical town of Veracruz.”

El Angel: haven’t seen it but apparently there are some implications it was lowkey gay... so yeah.

Dear Ex: from wiki “San Lian was devastated when she discovered her late ex-husband left his insurance payout to his male partner Ah Jie. She decided to bring her son to fight for their rights, but her son instead chose to stand on the other person's side.” Will watch this soon, sounds interesting.

Sauvage: one of the best gay movies this year. Don’t know how to describe it so let me copy paste the description “ Léo is a sex worker who uses drugs whilst longing for love.”

Sócrates: haven’t seen it yet as it was just released.

Marilyn: story about a farm worker who discovers his sexuality in a hostile environment. Didn’t see it since someone has told me there are some scenes that are really HARD to stomach and I ain’t about that life.

Les Crevettes pailletées (The Shiny Shrimps): the movie is about an Olympic swimming champion who makes a homophobic comment in a television interview, and is disciplined by the national swim team with the responsibility of coaching a gay water polo team who aspire to compete in the Gay Games. Sounds and looks like an amazing comedy and can’t wait to watch it when I will be able to.

Fin de siglo (End of the Century): it’s not out yet as far as I know, but it’s about two men who meet in Barcelona and realize they have met already 20 years ago.

Matthias et Maxime: another excellence by Xavier Dolan. Story about life-long friends who question their sexual identities after they kiss. Looks amazing and I can’t wait for it to get released finally.

The Goldfinch: not a gay movie, but I’ve seen many people considering it as LGBT+ cinema because of the book and you know what, they kissed after all so you can perceive it beyond friendship if you want. If not, then just skip it. I feel like it is worth mentioning it tho.

Mapplethorpe: movie is about the life of photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. Didn’t see it but Doctor Who plays him so there’s that.

9-1-1: Lone Star: The spin-off of a popular show 9-1-1 by Ryan Murphy is premiering 19th of January 2020. It’s confirmed that the main character TK (a firefighter, left) will be romantically involved with the main character Carlos (a police officer, right). The show will also have a main trans man.

Love, Simon: The Series: A Disney+ Love, Simon spin-off is on its way and will premiere in 2020. The series will follow Victor (right) and his coming-out story at the same high school where Love, Simon took place. Didn’t find a photo with his love interest. The guy on the left will most likely be his enemy.
