Holly hums. “Oh? Thank you, father,” they respond, taking the gift from Crysanthus’ hands, holding it in their own with a light touch.

Carefully, they peeled away the glimmering wrappings covering the box they held, and with a sharp claw, sliced through the sealant holding the cards together. Something silver and metallic shone within.

With gentle hands, they removed the metal from its casing, holding it with their wooden prosthetic, and studied what was revealed.

A crown, made seemingly of Pale Ore, glinted in the sunlight. Three spikes jutted from its top, one fell from the bottom, likely to hook onto the front of their mask, and two prongs held either side, presumably to grip on their horns to prevent the garment from falling. It took a moment for them to properly process what they now owned.

“A crown?”

“Yes, of course. You’re truly a part of this family, now, and as the Heir… you deserve something that shows your status. Your place in our family.”

Holly blinks back tears. They could hardly fathom the kindness their father showed them — after so many years of negligence and abuse, he was gifting them things, calling them his child.

How come you don't understand satire? When Redkatherine drew her OC as a witch boiling trans ppl, her spellbook was a biology textbook. Grow up. You want to be a victim so bad.

actually, i do understand satire. the thing about satire is that, for it to work, you have to be punching upwards, i.e., making fun of someone who is better off than you, not worse off than you, and because she didn’t specify that the people in the pot were trans women, who she views as the patriarchy, you can’t argue that she was punching upwards.

secondly, for satire to work, it was to clearly be satire. in the post about the witch boiling people alive, it’s really not clear that it’s satire. no part of it indicates to me that it’s satire. it’s just her boiling trans people alive using a biology textbook. and one of the hands isn’t even wearing a real flag, so it’s kind of sad that redkatherinee couldn’t even be bothered to look up “gender flag” and just slapped some colors on and called it a day. 

which leads me nicely into my third point: it’s not satire, it’s hyperbole of her viewpoints. satire is meant to be ironic; it’s an exaggeration of someone ELSE’S viewpoints to point out the flaws in them. a fantastic example of satire is the work “a modest proposal,” in which johnathan swift satirically suggests that the irish could solve all their problems if they just ate their own babies. after all, the english thought that the irish needed a can-do spirit and to stop having so many damn babies! swift thought this was stupid, and did not agree with the english, so he made a work in which he took their beliefs and stretched them to the logical extreme to mock how heartless and cruel the english were to the poor irishmen. 

so, lets look at the picture in question.

 if a trans person were to make that same exact picture, but instead caption it, “this is how terfs think of themselves lol,” THAT would be satire. not very good satire, but it would be satire. if redkatherineee were to make an image of, i dunno, trans people handcuffing lesbians to trans women so they’d have sex, that would be satire. again, poor satire, but satire nonetheless, and you would be able to say that it’s satire.

because it does technically meet the qualifications of satire! redkatherinee believes she’s punching up, and, to her credit, she makes the trans woman white and the woman who i’m guessing is supposed to be the cis lesbian black, giving at least a granule of substance to the notion of the trans woman being the oppressor. she’s also exaggerating the opponent’s points instead of her own, which is what you’re supposed to do in satire. but this one still falls into the trap i mentioned before: it’s not clear whether or not it’s satire. hell, i’m still not entirely sure if it’s meant to be satire or not.

god, so many things are wrong with this. 

i’ll start simple. again, she’s not punching up. the way she’s framed this, the trans woman isn’t the person in power, it’s the radfem police officer. she’s in a position of authority not only as a police officer, but in the way the art itself is framed. 

again, it’s not fucking clear that it’s satire! i’m not even sure WHAT she’s supposed to be satirizing. i’ll get into more detail about this later, but for now, let’s move on. 

just like with the witch post, redkatherinee isn’t exaggerating things she disagrees with (i think. again, getting into that later.) she appears to be exaggerating her own points in an attempt to pull off the whole “lol this is what the gendershits think we want!!!” thing i talked about earlier, which will always be unsuccessful, but is downright disasterous when you don’t even make it clear that it’s supposed to be satire.

onto the biggest issue with this. god, i really didn’t think i had to say this, but satire has to be hyperbolic to work. i thought we had covered that at the bit about eating babies! this is not hyperbolic in the slightest.

the LGBT community has a long history of substance abuse due to the fact that historically, the only places they could meet up were bars. even today, a large portion of LGBT spots to meet up in person are bars. the LGBT community has a long history of illegal substance abuse due to the fact that a.) the mafia was entangled with gay bars, b.) when being gay is illegal, you can’t effectively keep illegal drugs out of gay meetups since the meetup itself is illegal, and c.) because, in short, LGBT people are more likely to get the shit end of the stick, which in turn makes people more likely to seek drugs out of desperation. so, already, the drug metaphor is really insensitive.

not really. she might have meant it that way, but that’s not how it comes off. for starters, the drug thing affects the WHOLE LGBT community, not just the T. also, drag queens were also a huge part of the community historically, and thus subject to the same substance abuse issues. drag queens are usually men in dresses, and redkatherinee thinks trans women are just men in dresses. here’s the thing, though. redkatherinee never makes the disclaimer that “oh, drag queens are fine, just don’t try and call yourself a woman :))))).” this image makes no such subtle distinctions. it’s merely the distorted projections of redkatherinee’s views, a man in a dress we’re meant to gawk at and laugh in disgust at. the bulging eyes, the disheveled, dyed hair with horribly glaring roots, the protruding forehead, the faux breasts which clash against the skin, the angled nose and jutted chin dotted with a five o’clock shadow, the fat, lolling, tongue, uncanilly wide smile, the dripping sweat. we aren’t supposed to sympathize with this person. we aren’t supposed to look at them and laugh at how the gendershits think they’re oppressed and overreacting. i daresay we aren’t even supposed to feel pity. we’re supposed to feel disgust. and by trying to evoke that disgust at trans women, at “men in dresses”, redkatherinee alienates drag queens, who were and still are a cornerstone of the LGBT community, and yes, still fall under that category of “more vunderable to substance abuse” which makes this piece oh-so-insensitive, and the drug imagery not hyperbolic enough to fall into the realm of satire. 

so, we’ve established that the drug aspect of this piece cannot be considered satire, whether you view trans women as women or just men in dresses, since both trans women and drag queens, as part of the LGBT community, are at higher risk for drug abuse.

like i said earlier, substance abuse is an issue for all of the lgbt community, so by trying to use drug abuse as a metaphor like this, redkatherinee really just shooting herself in the foot.

so, pansexuals, lesbians, and gays. i’m sure even terfs can agree those are all part of the LGBT community. guess what that means! they have to fight off substance abuse too! so, hooray! redkatherinee, a lesbian, has actually shot herself in the foot now!

since you clearly don’t know what it is, i’ll give you a helpful tip; that right there was satire. redkatherinee is a lesbian, of course she doesn’t think lesbians are bad. but in a bid to hurt trans women as much as possible, that’s the point that she’s made. 

but oh, redkatherinee couldn’t make her art insensitive enough. no, no, she had to go above and be-fucking-yond. her radfem character arresting her trans caricature is a police officer. 

since being gay was illegal in the US until the 1960s, the relationship between the LGBT community and the police is strained, to say the least.

 so between that and the substance abuse problem, depicting a police officer arresting a trans person for drug usage is, um, how do you say, bad.

for real though. this is the point where, even if you don’t think trans women are real women, redkatherinee goes from bad, to downright monsterous. 

in the recent past, being trans was, technically, illegal. now, none of these laws said, “transes are to be arrested on the spot!” but “wearing dress of the opposite sex” was illegal. even worse, many of these laws were much more agressive towards “biological males,” as redkatherinee would put it, and these crossdressing laws continued well into the 80′s. hell, the “immoral dress code law” of Oakland, California was only amended in 2010. 

so this? this isn’t satire at all. it isn’t hyperbole at all. there’s no exaggeration here. you can’t claim satire when depicting something that actually happened. and i hope you don’t forget that the trans woman being arrested is also holding gay, lesbian, and pansexual drugs. and you know. “homosexual activites” were also illegal. if you changed the cop to a human, took out the winky face, and removed reference to radical feminism, this would be nigh indistinguishable from propaganda against “degenerate activity.”

alright, first things first: ive heard so many people say that, after episode 1, the entire season goes downhill and the thing is?? with doctor who... i literally never know when to trust ppl or not, bc 50% of the time theyre RIGHT and it does get worse, and 50% of the time they literally just tank everything as soon as ANYTHING that can be misconstrued as an “agenda” pops up and yeah. YEAH, ITS DEFINITELY THE LATTER.

undoubtedly.... i think its picking up a lot more, as series usually do, with time. every shift tends to be experimental; most doctors, have rocky first seasons. i think, in comparison to others’ first runs, its doing quite fine!

however, see: most of the good episodes, have those slants that realy make the gross fanboys go off their SHITS. rosa, demons of punjab, kerblam (although prsonally... im still thinking over some of the messages, and i cant tell if imisinterpreted or What)   and witchfinders (the last epi i fully watched; fell asleep during it takes u away, so idk what to make of that just now)  are all. GOOD. like theyre GOOD fuckn episodes, but ... INCIDENTIALLY, THOSE EPISODES ARE ALSO  ALL. VERY “”POLITICAL””  HENCE WHY. ITS FINE if two people dont know each other that much but it jus t feels....  disconnected? as in, they dont feel as connected together because its hard to o intto eeach and every dynamic- what instead feels like the case, is that graham&ryan are operating as their own thing, with the doctor on the sidelines somewhee and with yaz also . ion the sideleines but even MORE so. ALTHOUGH i was never that fond of amy, what worked so well for the amy/rory/doctor  stretch was that each of them had a fulfilling interaction with each othe, yo uknow?   

and also, whilst we’re on the topic: i similarly do still think two companions are better than one, bc in my opinion...  there’s only been one or two cases in new who, where a single companion has worked supe well in new who- DONNA was just... amazing for that,and bill was quite good alone too, and i think thats because? both relationships never got too... LIKE TOO MUCH, and didnt need a third party to lighten them ror offer a breather and they were both interesting enough (... no offence) to handle it on their own??

yaz is absolutely getting hthe short end of the stick and i kind of just wish she wasnt there. does that make sense? i adore her, and i adore her conceptually, but- i think the graham/ryan dynamic is just so rich , and she’s so disconnected to them both, and quite often during episodes she’s the one who doesnt get explored as deeply as the others and.... HONESTLY, its just not fair on her because she’s WONDERFUL annd her actrress is too and i thin k what would be moreappropriate was if she had her own series with the doctor and ryan, maybe?

WHAT I THINK WOULD HAVE WORKED BETTER, was if she wasdropped back off, early in the season  and graham and ryan continued to travel with her (given they have a stronger reason to) then, maybe, graham decided to step back off and yaz came in again and her and ryan got go go around with the doctor for a season whilst still popping into see graham every so often (like once o twice in a season). LIKE I JSUT THINK that- she isnt... getting the love she so desereves, quite like with the doctor, and i really want her to. HONESTLY, a lot of the focus does feel... in terms of EMOTIONS to be weighing on graham and ryan, and im not mad at that at all like. our second black companion in a row?? wand not only that, but a disabled black man, who explores more sensitive subjects- THAT IS GOOD, AND PLEASE DONT TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME, BUt. LIKE ITS A LOT... FROM ALL SIDES, and just.... NEXT TIME IT WOULD JUST BE BETTER if it wasnt so many ppl then like. they could aall... just be happy. you know.

Haha you are really not a sporty person, aren’t you babe!😽 Back in my uni, (I’m in graduate school now) the campus was sooo big that I had to have a electric bike to take me where I wanted to go or it would take too much time. I miss the days when I would ride on my electric bike at night time, juts enjoying the gentle breeze and the humid air. Good old days!

I dont have any pets right now😢 but my dream is to have one. I haven’t decided on what would I keep tho. Little doggie like chihuahua and corgi is so cute, just looking at them makes me forget any worries. but bigger doggie like golden retriever is sooo warm and can bring some much comfort 🥺 aaaand kitty🥺 if I can never met Louis in my life, I’d better have a kitten as a substitute for loulou, right? They are the same! Cute and cuddly, incredibly intelligent, sometimes bratty and playful, makes ppl wanna kneel down and call them queen. I just wish when I have my own house and am financially stable to keep pets, I would be able to have abundant of time and energy to take good care of them. Otherwise its just irresponsible. I actually answered a similar question a while ago! But I can’t find it so I guess to sum it up I mostly think at some point it’d just become something both of them have talked about throught the years enough times that by then it’ll just be something they are gonna do, sooner or later, and when it’ll happen it’ll be more like “we have a stable income and a house and a dog and a cat and are p much already married we should really do this already” - in a scenario like that either of the two works, for me haha

Thank you so much for liking my kids!!!! ;O; and sadly I can’t tell you too much about them cause their story is a bit still up in the air as far as details go, but in general they used to be best friends back when they were kids, then the accident that gave Leo his scars happened and for reason they lost track of each other for a long while - they met again recently, tho! Leo’s been in love with Max since they were babies and being able to talk to him and interact with him again makes him incredibly happy/mushy/soft but also absurdly and unreasonably overprotective since he’s really, really scared of losing him again - Max… because of plot-related reasons hasn’t realized that Leo is the kid he used to know back when he was super young, so his falling in love with him happens as the story progresses. He finds the overprotectiveness silly and unecessary, but he doesn’t exactly mind it? He has a feeling it helps Leo more than it helps him, so he lets him do his thing. All in all, maybe Max takes more care of Leo than Leo of Max. Welp, their story is kind of a mess haha

The Runaways

Sirius had had quite the adventure; his description of the events made my heart simultaneously stop then speed up to the point of acute pain. Just as I had seen, Pettigrew bad gotten away. Tho the fact infuriated Sirius, there was an overwhelming joy that painted every sentence he spoke. He suddenly seemed youthful, exuberant, albeit furious and anxious. He was a wanted man. A fugitive. Again. All we had hoped for, tho not lost, was indefinitely delayed. As upsetting as that fact was, Sirius couldn’t get over his godson. “And, you’ll never believe this, Gilda, HIS PATRONUS TAKES ON THE FORM JAMES USED TO TAKE WHEN HE’D TRANSFORM!” He gestured wildly, which wasn’t the wisest choice, since we were legions above the ground on back of a winged creature with no restraints holding us on. “Yes, yes, that’s incredible, Sirius, but please… could you hold on?” I chuckled nervously. I had no idea where it was we were headed to. All I knew was wedding been flying for the better part of two days, stopping only to sleep under the cover of trees and to steal food from muggles villages along the way. The layout of Britain was much different than anything I was used to. It made for a quiet, lonely travel; basically, everything a wanted man and his lover could ask for. We travelled further and further south. There came a point where the weather was warming to the point that Sirius asked me to shave the dreaded mess on his head off. “Too hot,” he muttered, catching dreads as I casted them off. Holding up a broken piece of glass for him to catch his reflection, his lower lip jutted out as he nodded his head in approval. “How good are you at transfiguration?” Waves crossed upon the sand; the sound of the rushing water dragging the grains of sand woke me so gently, I wasn’t quite sure if I were still dreaming. Shaking the sleep from my Eyes, I glanced around me. It was still an unfamiliar sensation, living care free and as new ppl on the uninhabitable side of the island. Buckbeak, who we now referred to as Witherwings, snored gently the left of me. Sirius wasn’t within sight, but it didn’t worry me. This was the end of our first month on the island, and we had fallen in love with our life here. We had stopped in several towns in or way down, where Sirius had found a wand in front of a Wizarding pub. Tho it knew Sirius wasn’t it’s master, it none the less did the simple commands he asked it; it had built us a shack and dropped coconuts from trees so that we could drink and use the flakes for seasoning. I, personally, prepared our meals and made sure our disguises stayed true to form. My once flowing, elbow length hair had been chopped to just below my chin. Everyday, I turned it various shades of blonde, red, black or brunette. Sirius had had his cut to the scalp; in no time flat, it had grown out to almost exactly the same length as mine, which tickled him pink. I made sure his changed hue daily as well. Stretching, I got up and went to the side of the Shack, where a make shift shower stood. Collected rain water hung in a sack, awaiting to cleanse us. This was my favorite part of the island; bathing. Soap bars I made from a charm my mother taught me that I perfected on my days on the road. When I stepped out of the shower, allowing the ocean breeze to caress my naked skin, cooling on the places that water turned to dew. The salt tickled my nostrils and I held onto the moment as tightly as I could, tucking it into the recesses of my heart. I knew all too well how short the good times last and it had become habit to hide whatever little joy I’d experienced inside my spirit to recall when times got tough, as they surely would. Amongst these thoughts, I kept the first time I felt Sirius’s lips on my own…. As if by cue, a pair of arms wrapped around me, blocking the cooling wind from its gentle tickle. “Where’d you go?” I asked, kissing his forearm and knowing the answer; regardless, the sound of his voice felt as velvet around my mind and I liked how it sounded. “Wrote Harry; found a bird to send him. Not a big deal,” he muttered it all into my shoulder blades. Sirius looked forward to seeing the snowy white owl. Harry had gone back to his aunt and uncles and hated it; according to him, the fact that his godfather was still a believed serial killer worked to his benefit. They had begun to treat him with a certain level of apathy, which was a vast improvement. “You sent him the cake I made?” I again mouthed into his forearm. I felt a smile upon my back and felt his chin rub up and down, in the affirmative. “He’ll enjoy that!” I turned, taking Sirius’s face into my hands. I held him tightly, afraid that if I loosened my grip, I’d lose him for good. Sirius grabbed my hands with his own and we stood. “I don’t know how I’d do this without you,” he finally broke the silence. I needn’t respond, for I’d told him time and again that where ever he went, I’d follow, so long as it would help and not hinder. Instead, I kissed him lightly. Suddenly, my vision became tunneled and I started Seeing. “We will be headed back to Britain soon enough.” My voice was a croak. I heard it and felt it but it wasn’t thru my own cognizance that it came forth. Visions of snakes and a maze and Harry Potter, that poor harry potter and….. “Lupin!” I gasped.

In my home country, I did not even think about car insurance cost when I bought a car. It was just a small amount of money. In UK, when I try to buy a cheap secondhand car, the insurance cost higher than the car price. 2002 Nissan Primera cost 900 pounds while insurance quoted me 1169 pounds for that car. Why insurance cost more than the car price? I am not intending to claim by knowing the amount of excess money (higher than the car price) I have to pay in the first place if I want to claim.""
