so! i’ve recently finished this beautifully written novel by @bettsican​, and am anxiously anticipating for the second book in the trilogy! okay so this book was SO good, and so well written. like damn

aside from that horrible ending how could you do this to me

ok so first of i never watched gg as a show i was invested in w characters and ships because its a ridiculous teen drama and half the characters are. insane. also i just finished bingeing it so my memory is fresh so here’s a detailed explanation:

basically imo derena was cute the first time they dated. i didnt see any problems w the sweet first love thing they had going on. even the second time was like fine even though the stepsiblings thing was weird. what started concerning me was when they had dan fall in love with blair (a whole other ship i genuinely can’t make up my mind on lol because both characters are lowkey demons but also… worked together) he treated serena like shit and at the same time writers started peddling this “serena always loved dan watch her get hurt for 2+ seasons” which was… just not something im a fan of. 

im ngl i prefer serena to blair because blair was a weird elitist bully and serena at least tried to be kind, but i know serena had some major flaws too. the thing is serena got worse and worse as the show neared its end and 99% the awful things she did was because of her love for dan. like the writers were trying to push it as some epic love which was there all along while… dan used serena for his gossip girl expose and serena tricked him into having sex with her to upset blair dskhgkjhdsk they were horrible together in the end. and when she FINALLY got the fuck out and told him she’s done with him, he revealed he’s gg and???? serena’s reaction was literally melting and getting back together with him. it was crazy like i still can’t believe she defended him and didn’t care he lied to and manipulated her their whole relationship lol teen dramas really don’t care about the mental and physical wellbeing of its female characters 

now nate and serena just worked so well. there was no drama when they finally got together. nate was genuinely the best guy on gg even though he’s a dumbass he was the only character who acted mature and was never malicious towards any of his loved ones. and he was the only guy who treated serena right. it was pretty clear he loved her in season 1 and towards the end he still wasn’t over her which is so sad because he was rich and hot and noble and she chose that lying muppet dsjkfhjkdskhdshk but seriously the show starting with nate/serena ashamed of their relationship and dating other ppl and ending with these best friends finally together w nothing in their way and finally happy w their lives is 10000x better than the show being the story of how dan stalked and pursued serena, dated her, treated her like shit once he was over it and then turned out to be a sociopath who ruined her life since she was a kid and left her for the dead once, and still ended up with her.

I think a partner in crime sort of fic would be awesome! Like childhood friends that were always mischievous together, started this "dare game" where they dare eachother to do risky things. When they grow up the dares escalate into even more risky things which ends up getting them into trouble and they have to run from the law. And they fall for eachother. Kinda like a Joker and Harley Quinn relationship. (Just nothing too horrible like murder or anything like that but thrill seeking crimes)

Yay! I think the whole reason I had this idea is because I finally have a dentist that doesn't make me want to cry anymore. I was so traumatized growing up HATING the dentist. So I was bouncing back and forth between the beginning/middle/end putting pieces down that I don't even know if I'll use but I gotta include in case I need it. I'm currently REALLY attached to Honey still though (probs because I wrote it so quickly) so I'm lowkey struggling to write something else because I don't want to let them go 😭 It's like when I read a book that just hits and I'm like "I cannot leave them. They're my friends." It feels rude to move on.

I've been trying to donate more of my books! I'm out of room on my shelves! I usually leave them in the staff lounge. But I can't exactly bring my smut books into a school so I have to be strategic about which ones I bring in 😂 If I think I'm going to reread the book, or even just look at it, I always keep it. So there are MANY like that so I am struggling to clear space on my shelf. Plus I just keep buying more anyway 😂

Solid week overall and I'm hoping to be productive this weekend, but we will see. I want to put up fall decorations even though it's still like 80 degrees out. I know you don't like the cold much but I'm DYING for 50-60 fall breezes 😭

i feel like the itoshi parents weren’t horrible (they seem pretty chill according to sae’s egoist bible once he’s in spain) it just feel to me like they don’t really know what to do w their kids who are so into soccer ykwim…like they were given two relatively abnormal children and maybe w sae it was manageable as he seems to be pretty mature but with rin they just had 0 idea what to do and let sae handle it because it seemed like he could…and yeah i feel like most kids are lowkey freaks when they’re younger so itoshi dad wasn’t entirely wrong they just didn’t handle it well + rin is a special case because he never stopped being crazy 😭

Of all the songs on my On Repeat playlist, he chose the one that’s on there because of me repeating it when we were in our little weird/sad funk HAHA. Out of nowhere he said “I love Lauv” “Oh me too!” “I know I saw him on your On Repeat” *chooses it* “Wth did you go through my Spotify?” “Yeah” lol always going through my phone.
