I hate how I feel like I have the right to miss them. I don't.

I can't remember them but I do. And I hate how if I had recorded dreams sooner I would remember them.

I remember raphs voice, it was like the show but gruffier.

I remember Donnie's mask having oil stains and how he had a special mask with goggles sewn on by raph.

I remember me and Mikey having matching bracelets and jewelry on our masks, a stupid thing he had convinced me to do as I watched space heroes.

I remember how me and Mikey would have some of the stupidest conversations over text sometimes.

I remember how me and raph used to just lay side by side on the nights when he was in pain and I was too.

I remember how the thunder sounded as the shredder pretty much put me into my coma.

I hate how that's all I remember. I hate how I can't remember anything else about what they looked like, my brain fills in gaps but I don't know they look like that. I hate it.

How can I even dare to miss them.

LOVE a ship that’s heavy on the unrequited love. It’s tragic of course, but it’s also so raw and beautiful and devoted and THATS the bit that gets me. It is unconditional love in its purest form. It’s the: “I will swallow the sickness at seeing you with another GLADLY if it means you’re happy. You don’t need to love me, you don’t even need to a knowledge me, I will love you all the same. Just let me be by your side, even if you’re not at mine.” The fact that it’s not even heartbreak, just resignation and eventual numbness. Stabs me in the gut every time, perf for when I need to feel something. Don’t get me wrong it’s nice to read fics where they end up together, but sometimes I like to just sit and marinate in the eternal pining of the canon.

I haven't gone through most of the gamefreak leaks but I find it odd that people are going bonkers over the typhlosion thing in such a gross way bc like

1) its clearly mythos/lore? Based on concepts they decided not to lean into.

It is Not Canon / Cut Content for a reason - the reason being that was not the direction they wanted to take the series since it is very very very specifically geared towards a teen audience.

Could a teen audience have handled the themes? I would argue yes - but they disagree, and so it was cut.

2) Even if we ignore everything else implied by that story - it is literally not that different from like. Normal furries...??? Like.

The typhlosion was communicating in human speech. It was taking on a humanoid form. It clearly understood humanoid needs and ties and emotions.

The ending directly said that the lesson they learned was that Typhlosion are more humanoid than initially suspected. This is leaning more into the "monster" / yokai aspect of pokemon that has Always been there.

3) These themes are really common in real world mythology in pretty much all places in the world, and they are typically used as teaching moments to warn (in this case...) Young Girls from wandering into the woods alone, lest a predator Of Some Kind take advantage of their isolation.

Another thing I find fascinating is that they didn't really do Away with some of these concepts - they just moved it onto Zoroark (and other pokemon) instead. Many canon pokemon still behave this way, just sith the more adult or worrying themes omitted.

From what I've seen and experienced with Pokemon growing up, there's always been the backbones of something darker and more "grimms tales" underneath. I just don't understand the Disgust and Surprise when realistically, the world has always had a pretty strong undercurrent and ties to Yokai, Demonology, Religion and Monsters - the notion that SOME lean more humanoid than others is the very reason we have a humanoid egg group to begin with, and why ditto, mew two, etc exist.

Also. Like. I get wishing we had more of those dark themes in the games. But us adults who grew up on Pokemon haaavvvree to remember that despite growing up and still loving the game series, us adults...are not their target demographic. At least we DEFINITELY weren't at the time mush of the Typhlosion stuff was being written. Whether we think thats stupid or not doesn't change that.

The changes they made are a direct result of going "okay guys maybe this is a little too much for 10 to 14 year olds..." And that's their narrative choices to make.

like yeah obviously misinformation surrounding DC comics is really big rn but have we considered that every time you yell at someone online for not knowing a story line, you’re actively dissuading them from learning more? i feel like new server members & viewers don't realize all the original eggs spoke english and spanish partially bc people don't explain the original intent of the egg event (pairing eng & esp speakers so they would interact more) nor do people realize the original eggs were randomly picked by their parents so they weren't assigned ahead of time (even cellbit for a while thought dapper didn't speak spanish because he thought he was just for bad and wouldn't have needed to, let alone far newer members)

So many shippers want to take stobin away from each other by either undermining their big friendship moments, especially the bathroom scene by either making Steve talk about someone else when he's describing how amazing Robin is or (as I've unfortunately seen) have Robin lie about liking Tammy (to cover her crush on Nancy) which makes the entire scene ingenuine and the basis of their solid friendship a falsehood, or by giving their dynamic to other characters like making Robin and Eddie best friends before scoops (when they probably didn't even know each other beyond going to the same school). Just. Why. Why must you separate them? Why do you feel the need to remove their big emotional moments of love and trust and give it to different characters?
