Curly and Ponys first Christmas living together where both of them are confused when Christmas decorations don't magically appear because somebody else always does it

•if u think these two r arguing over what vibe of christmas they want and u feel like pony is into a christmas where its one solid color, ur on THIN ice bc they BOTH would rather a colorful christmas and cant understand y anyone would go for that boring outlook on christmas,,,im watching u,,,

•however we can compromise!!! pony argues just going for the regular red and green while curlys arguing for just different colors PLUS the red and green, they both r too stubborn and now their christmas looks like a paintball gun shot up the place

•their tree was so pathetic, its in an awkward spot in the living room, its so small and kept tipping over so they gave up on it and its just kinda leaning on the wall and stacked up by ponys college books😭😭

so ever since i drew that lil thing of essek painting a frank stella inspired painting (or even before), ive been thinking of what kinds of art each of the m9 would do. essek ofc is inspired by a minimalist show that i went to here, all the big names from that movement were shown, but those really dark, sinkhole-like paintings are speaking to me. another artwork of boxes made of mirrors also seems like the thing he would do too

there's a kiln here that we visited which was huge, and surrounding it were artists' studios and some other ceramic sellers, i imagine the clay family having a place like this in the middle of nowhere amongst the trees, and caleb would do his work there

anyways because at heart im a shadowgast luver its centred around them,, they meet at an artist residency or something like that and its an incredibly slow burn that involves talking and not-talking and looking and not-looking. in the end i am but a simple wong kar wai fan so. that kinda vibes would definitely influence this, i would describe it as a quiet burning i guess?? time skipy and words that are not said

i think im gonna rant a bit more about their different mediums and styles so i'll keep it under the cut

i think caleb sculpts figures and portraits, but in a sad, kathe kollwitz charcoal vibe. maybe some funky looking animals, perhaps some pots and vases to look at the pretty glazes. he's interested in using fire to burn texture into different mediums, like ive seen it being used on shellac to make a really cool net of ink looking structure.. but yknow, just seeing the aftermath of glazed ceramic from the kiln is enough, and probably better for him to keep his distance anyways

the clay family produces most of the ceramic to sell, vases, pots, plates, cups, teapots, yknow just a whole array. and its really colourful too, depicting every family members different style. i think caduceus would do some matte glazes with a lot of different colours, theyre all a little wonky but theyre better off that way anyways. he does some really mean ink calligraphy and painting though

jester definitely does,, everything, whatever her heart desires kinda thang. she makes pastel textile installations and lighthearted cute paintings, but theyre always so contemplative and soothing. she gets m9 a lot of work cus her mom has connections, etc etc. i really love the idea of jester creating works that talk about the female body and femininity (definitely not projecting no)

beau is a printmaker and photographer who's really experimental, she loves cyanotypes and printing flowers (for yasha), idk she seems like she would put fabric and rocks into the washing machine to see what would happen. u would probably catch her in someone elses studio learning about what they do or in the library learning about what old people did

veth works in a museum as a curator, getting beau to help her sometimes with gathering artworks and artists etc. she probably organises community art projects for kids and public art installations. her house is full of m9's artworks and various other artists shes worked with.

yasha does bouquets as her post-retirement part time job, prior to that no one really knows what she did ("she probably murdered a bunch of people and is now hiding from the government"). fjord draws comics for fun but is also not a job for him, molly is a question mark for me. but these guys probably wont be in it as much anyways

im still not sure what format i wanna do this in, im actually having fun just writing it in my notebook now (digital does not facilitate the creative juices) but i do want to do some visuals like fake movie stills or storyboards. maybe they will work together well???? dunno. working on the other shadowgasty thing im doing made me realise how much easier it is to draw when there's a script already there, so im writing the script for myself

im definitely not as practiced in writing as i am in drawing, but idk im just gonna have some fun and see where that takes me, meanwhile try not to feel too bad that its fanart HAHA (very bad habit)

hi my name is kit, ive been hyperfixated on detco for almost 3 years now and im here to make an insanely long intro post because i wanna post stuff and the other detco artists here are so cool and i dont see them on any other platform (for the most part)

Detective conan fans/the people ive adopted as my mutuals even tho theyre not ! (i follow them, they dont follow back, but i interact with the detco content they post so much that i might as well be that one guy in the corner watching the rest of the mutuals talk) HELLO- some of you have probs seen me in ur rbs/tags (depending on who sees this) , and i dont really ever post my Own things, but i do draw ! a lot ! ive done a lot of things and i want more fans to see bc everyone here is so cool 😭 this isnt an interest post more just a "hey whos out there thatll see what i post" kinda deal- ill attach some art under the cut but pretty much what im trying to say is,, (literally choose whatever speaks to ur heart)

these vary in recent-ness,, im in school and im left with very little time to draw, so some of these are from a month or two ago ;; but i only picked what i think still looks good ^^ some are quick doodles, others are unfinished, or even just drawings to test techniques (like the colored shinichi one)- and the second drawing isnt even detco LMAO

the 3rd and 7th doodles are from my project sekai au, thats an explanation for a different post,, and the last 2 are APTX!Heiji doodles !! the last ones part of a mini comic i made a bit back about him first waking up shrunk, which i can make a post with the whole thing later (maybe- it looks a little wonky)

So the fact that Crunch only has the second season should have deterred me from even starting it, but I guess I didn’t want to watch anymore IMas Side M, so here we are.

I also did not look beforehand if there was any seiyuu I know in it, but this seems like the type of show that has Nobodies. Anyway, I’ve done this before with Futsal Boys, so I can handle this.

So if I thought UniteUp felt like a sports anime, this would be the more generic, played up straight up sports anime of idols. It’s preeetty much Futsal Boys but with idols. In terms of it selling something that doesn’t quite line up exactly for the target audience? I’ve never seen any of the Puri (not Cure) series or Aikatsu, but I’m assuming those are also “magical” transforming idols using cards? The most I’ve been exposed to costume changing cards is Happiness Charge Precure, which, I’m assuming was inspired by series like that. I’m not a fan of it, but I get what vibe it’s supposed to be. So like, sentai toys, but with idols. 

Anyway, not gonna lie, I binged the first three episodes straight up because it was entertaining enough. It’s not as deep as I would have liked, where Blue’s tragic backstory was Not the “I watched someone I care about commit suicide” that I thought it was gonna be, but I guess that was semi traumatizing for a kid. I can’t say the characters are necessarily deep, as Kanade’s reason for dropping soccer kind of pisses me off, and we could have gotten a little more something from Keigo before he left for the 20:32 train. (Why was this the make or break role? Was there an on going rivalry between Keigo and Shin before?) 

The pacing of the series is too fast but at the same time doesn’t really give information. I feel like it really is targeted towards 5-8 year olds with the way the story is written. (Why the characters kept dredging up 2032’s lyrics and talking about it like that. It just felt like it was written sooo simple-y.) Also the semi-repetitive lines/gags from ep 1 and 2, mostly episode 1? Felt like they were dragging for time at some point (a minute too much of Kanade handing out balloons, a minute too much of Kanade and Yellow competing)

Also, I love transformation sequences IF THEYRE NICE TO LOOK AT. The boy’s Dorika henshins are way too samey, so yeah I’m gonna be bored at them. I get it's so they have a generic enough pose so they can CG slap the DoriKa outfits on. The landing pose, dorika catch animations are nice and fun, but iunno, I guess I like my smooth 2D henshins where they are fun to look at.

I complained about IChu’s performances but I see that DF is going to try to cram a performance into each episode. I get it I get it. I think it works for DF though, even if I think the performances themselves are kinda goofy. I like the face model for the guys, but the rest of the body feels a little wonky. (Their hands look under rendered and blobby sometimes I don’t know.) Hold the Phone, this was from 2016, which was also around the time I7 came out. And these guys look leagues better than the first MonGen MV, sooooo I think I know who is winning in this category. 

I guess I can get to talking about the characters now? …I uh, I think Kanade is cute ngl. I like the ponytail and even though his seiyuu sounds unrefined in terms of vocal range/acting, I like the boyish tone. Everyone is generic as hell though, but I was semi pleasantly surprised that Kanade (Red) was butting heads with Yellow (Junya, if I feel like remembering it) instead of the usual Red vs Blue. 

Speaking of Blue, I can’t really say that Kanade’s reason for wanting Shin to stay was super developed but ngl man that chase scene and “I dont want to not see you” etc etc, that shit got to me. See, the tone could have been more serious, if Shin’s tragic backstory was about suicide, so Kanade chasing him thinking that Shin would have followed the same path because of the scandal, etc etc etc. Anyway I’m already writing fic about them in my head while watching the episode skldjflkslfk

Also ngl, Mikami grabbing Kanade and throwing him into the car saying he wanted him Sure Was A Way to Sell to Fujoshis. It’s me, I’m the Bitches. Mikami is supposed to be the fun old star, I guess, I like him, he’s fun. The DF president is also cute! Anyway, I’m looking forward to meeting the other veterans of Sankishi.

Uh oh, I accidentally looked at the seiyuu casting and I guess there actually Are notable seiyuu in here. That’s fine though, I like when they give newbies a chance, but it’s too detached when I know Nobody. (Futsal Boys.) 

Anyway, I guess I’m looking forward to Purple Sweets Shota and his maybe not so tragic backstory with the Black other Shota that might be his Twin, because we love twins. (Not me.) Also, I couldn’t tell if Keigo was also an idol in the opening or if it was someone else? Will also look forward to finding out.

theres julie's old design she looked more like a monster muppet this time i like the design. she and frank are icing a triple layered cake theres a clock i like with big eyes half lided at the top then you notice how where 12, theres a closed eye at 3 theres a half open eye at 6 its fully open and at 9 its 3/4 closed reminds me of moon phases i dont expect everything to mean something like some deep meaning but things can still have meaning and deep personal meaning to me.

i think her hair is part of what makes her her.im not sure what she has in her hand its not a worm but kinda looks like one like that striped puppet one. the cake candles say NEW and the quote at the bottom of the page says What a wonderful Merry Day! in relation to that id say theyre celebrating a new day. thers pink striped wall paper two shades maybe this is julies house

a thing at the top of the fridge thats probably part of the fridge says something with a D and 197somethinng what number looks like a sideways capital M like a backwards or maybe a different looking seven idk. on the clock the the dots between a given eye where number should be are deliciously different very nice when zoomed in also i can notice a crack in the wallpaer julie's very fuzzy hand. there are sprinkles on julies side theres also a picture of someone on the fridge hung upside down with a flower magnet as a digital page it looks brownish like a page out of an old book interesting julie does look straight out of something like that. frank is trying to be consistent with his design and has dressed / is dressing the bottom layer and biggest in an organized way whilst the rest is random julie stuffing candles on the sides of it which is very cartoony.

so is the favorite color = eye color. Yellows eyes go green when he gets new batteries. In the big boy room, the big red has blue eyes and duck has kind of brownish red eyes. notice how duck and red have traits of each other's favorite color. ducks eyes are brown (another fav color of red is medium brown as seen in the it's nice that interview)

so true fancy clothes are a autism nightmare.. slimey slippy fabric and stiff clothes. bleh. hmhmm im gonna go with modern au bc thats easier - fjord dresses in peak Just A Dude clothes, like he sees a 5 pack of stripy tshirts in various colours and he's like Oh win. - beau wears basically only athleisure wear when she's not wearing straight up sports clothes. occaisionally she might borrow a silly patterned shirt fjord found somewhere. perhaps everyone thinks its funny to give fjord tropical shirts lol - caleb has autism momence of wear like the same 5 items all year round, all the same colours. also his heavy coat. theyre the good ol trusty clothing items. its all jumpers and corduroy and shirts, mostly second hand and stolen socks. - i think cad has lots of sensory problems with clothes being too tight in the wrong place so he sticks to flowy trousers and certain things he does like (which are all hand-me-downs, second-hand or handmade) . . he doesnt like brand new clothes or how underwear or structured trousers feels at all. also likes sewing wonky things and hand-dyeing and tie-dyeing things :-3 he has a big ragged comfy cardigan (maybe similar design and colours as the official merch one) he found in a donation bin and he adores it - i think molly smells like a musty old charity/vintage clothes shop. he's a jumble of random things from all these places, covered in sequins and jewellery. has a denim jacket absolutely covered in junk, like bits of silk scarves and pins. maybe has turned curtains into a shirt. will wear uncomfy things for the Fashion. looks very funny next to yasha who wears only black cargo trousers and ancient parkas and flannels. she’s dressed like she’s travelling always. - oo o hmm. .. i think veth would have a fun time making her clothes. she loves fabric shops and buying scraps and buttons and things. has a button collection for sure. also crochets and makes polymer clay jewellery and wears lots of fun things.. fave colour is yellow of course. lots of mustard and honey tones. - jes makes polymer clay things with veth ! she's rich and kinda buys too much silly stuff without thinking about it (oh dear...). however she does redistribute the wealth (/hj) via helping her friends get things if they need them, like winter boots n things. she has lots of different stuff. i feel like jes would try out a bunch of stuff.. but she likes dresses and skirts and dungarees because theres pockets for art stuff. she likes fun cardigans/jumpers with patterns and art on them. also has a fancy coat with a big fuzzy hood. also likes patterned tights! and socks, she has so many socks and matching pj sets. ok thats all for now :'-3

How are you so good at drawing eyes? Every time I draw eyes the pupils are uneven so the person looks like they’re looking in two different directions!

okay im not the best at explaining things but ill try

one thing to keep in mind is that eyes have shape and form on the face. a common mistake i used to make (or still make sometimes) is that my eyes are pretty... flat on the face i draw. my face could be at a 3/4ths angle but my eyes are more or less the same shape as if they were mirrored against each other and if you arent doing a head on angle id highly advise against that! it makes the anatomy look real wonky

for example looking at this post of a redraw i did last year.

back in 2017 (right) you can see that janes eyes are pretty much a copy paste. theyre the same shape which Isnt Bad its just that i intended her to be drawn from a 3/4th angle! however i drew her nose back then would not do much as long as i drew her eyes that way, because the eyes are flat and not conforming to the shape of her face. now w 2019 (left) janes eyes are. okay still kinda identical in shape ill admit but they do follow a curve in her face, which helps her face overall look more harmonious. just remember to keep in mind your style and how the eyes conform to the face regarding that. also i just realized this wasnt what you were asking for ANYWAY now look at this doodle i say as i pretend to know shit

i usually draw people looking to the side bc i also have the same fear of their pupils not being aligned lmao but what i do do that seems to help me is by drawing a little circle for a focal point and then drawing lines to the closest bottom edge of the eye, which should help you determine where the pupil should be. one thing i learned is that you have to look at both of the eyes when youre drawing the pupils- doing it one by one can lead to the problem of them looking in diff directions, but if youre considering them both its a lot easier to place the pupil. idk if that makes sense but i tried lmao hope that helps

- also in general: i do understand why some ppl think some of the show is getting, like, increasingly gimmicky. it is like that a lot of the time. like literally when they asked for busts of celebrities made out of cake in week 1.... like ok. gimmicky and unneccessary and should be more of a last week thing. but like i dont think them branching into stuff like japanese week & 1980s week and whatnot is THAT bad . like i do think it needs to be changed and it needs to branch out over the years (like if the show just stood... at a standstill it would not be a show any more. literally like if it had jsut stayed on the bbc with all the OGs it would not be AROUND in 2020)  and i do think tht like.... stuff like this, where they’re kinda changing what theyre making, but not making them do stupid extra shit that’s just pushing them to fuck up . i think its a nice balance

man, people are just so talented. i wanna share the good reads with all of ya’ll, so im making a lil rec list! i’ve included rating, main ship (but many are not ship-centric), any aplicable TWs, title, author, and what i liked :) these are all bnha, but i will make a non-bnha list soon too

★ A Demolition boy & his Cryptid BF - kewltie (T | bakudeku) ngl i was kinda iffy to read this at first. the idea just didn’t appeal to me as i don’t usually like youtuber AUs. but BOY am i glad i read this!! it’s so freaking funny and cute, and also super well formatted. that last thing is mega important because i cant STAND badly formatted social media fics, but this was so clean looking and streamlined. i just super loved it 

★ Sonata for Two - Ohiknowlotsofthings10 (G | tododeku) OH MY GOD. this really just hit all the spots mmm it was so incredible! i absolutely adore music AUs because im a musician, but i’ve literally never seen anything about classical or instrumental/orchestral music. i absolutely love all the description and detail in this. also the dynamics are fucking spot on. basically its cute, well written, and emotional. this was SO GOOD!!

★ Kids - ReminiscentRevelry (NR | no ships) wow this was like the cUTEST THING EVER- ugh, baby class 1A just hits super different. there’s not much else for me to say except that this is absolutely adorable and i may or may not have literally cried from cuteness overload after i read it. dadzawa reigns supreme!

★ a fairytale with a few plot holes - anonymous (E | todobaku | rape/non-con, parent/child incest, child neglect, psychological trauma) this is one of the darkest things ive read in a long time. it’s so incredibly fucked up, but SO incredibly good. like, its obviously very trauma/angst heavy because young shouto is literally getting raped by his dad, but i love angst so... yeah. very fucked up. once we get to the todobaku, i... beyond words. beyond. words. it’s not rushed at all, they have to take their time and work each other through trauma. it’s very beautiful and just... damn. so well written and engaging.

★ lights up and they know who you are - futurehearts (T | kiribaku | non-graphic suicide attempt, discussion of suicide) VERYVERYVERYEVRYEVRYGOOOOOOOOD!! if you’re in the mood for a really, really fucking good future fic, this is like one of my go-tos. i’ve read this so many times - its very engaging. like, once you start reading, you physically can’t stop until it’s done. i so rarely see a well done vulnerable bakugo, but this fic absolutely NAILED IT on the head. marvelous work, beautiful, awesome, lovely.

★ Starlight - gliteringeva (T | dabi(touya)hawks) THIS. THIS RIGHT HERE! this is the fic that got me balls fuckin deep into the actor AU. i feel like its SUCH a hard AU to really do well, and this fic absolutely does that. it’s very, very detailed, but not to the point where it feels like a ‘how to act’ manual instead of a fic. does a greeeeat service to the ‘secret relationships’ trope. it really showcases how complicated that can make a relationship, how it can fuck things up, but that is possible to fix it. just very, very good. like one of my ALL time fave fics EVER. jeez i cant even verbalize it. just... read it. like now. go on. shoo. (also ALL of eva’s dabihawks is just... ugh it has me absolutely gagged. go read it all.)

★ Lessons Learned - Sif (T | familial Best Jeanist and Bakugou | child abuse) yes, this is another one that made me cry. i ABSOLUTELY had zero idea that dadjeans was even a thing. like, no clue. but now im addicted. this is one of the most unexpectedly good reads i’ve ever had - not because i didnt expect to like the writing, but because i didnt expect to like the whole concept lmao. but oh BOY was i proved wrong. this made me feel so many things... i also usually despise the ‘abusive mitsuki’ hc for many, many reasons, but... i couldnt bring myself to hate it here. it was very well done. this fic is just very good, and emotional, and wholesome. if you like family/found family fics this should be at the top of your list.

★ Thus With a Kiss, I Die - DomineeringScarves (T | shinkami) this was the book that inspired me to write how to get a bf. jeez man, idk where to start. this book is so well done. im an absolute feen for Shakespeare and id just gotten into shinkami when i found it, so this was like hitting gold. jeezzzzz. just... so well done. beautiful characterization, wonderful writing, accurate ass dynamics, romance that made me go OH MY GOD... this book has it all. like ALL. (also absolutely read Caged too. a+ dabihawks) (also??? the tumblr cursor on their blog drops FUCKING SPARKLES???)

★ I Would Understand - deafmic (T | familial Aizawa and Shinsou | child abuse/neglect) AHHHHHHHHHHHH. that’s the opener to this review. i absolutely adore anything and everything deafmic puts out, and this was no exception. Shinson and Dadzawa are, like, one of my favorite bnha dynamics ever, and this does them SO MUCH JUSTICE!!!! this fic made my cry and smile repeatedly so fast i think my face is deformed. very good fic if you want to Feel Things. shows just how much Shinsou idolizes Aizawa and how in turn Aizawa really cares a lot about him. one of my favorite Shinsou-centric fics of all time.

★ Written in the Stars - Ichesmia (M | shinkami) A Really Very Good band AU. again, im a sucker for well executed music/band AUs, and this was some good ass food. like GOOD ass food. obviously im a sucker for shinkami, and this is the fic that put the nail in the coffin for me. also incredible dynamics, both in and out of relationships. the whole band feels like a big family and it just makes me wahhhhh. i seriously laughed my ass off, cried my eyes out, shit my pants, swooned, sighed, and did everything else while reading this. one of the best shinkami ANYTHING ive ever gotten my hands on. absoLUTELY read it if youre looking for bakusquad as well - the friendship is real in this one.

12 ‘Unpopular’ Viddy Game Opinions

I’ve seen this topic floating around a lot, but didn’t think I had enough ‘unpopular but maybe not’ opinions about games to make a post. Turns out I do! So if you see this and I say something blasphemous, remember it’s just my opinion and my personal experiences with the games I list. Hope you enjoy or hey, maybe even agree with some of this!

Note: Can’t stress enough. This is just me. Also, spoilers under the cut!

12. The opening of Kingdom Hearts II isn’t as terrible as everyone says

Okay, so it’s not brilliant, but at the same time, I don’t think it’s the worst. For those not in the know, KH2′s opening is a basically a massive slog where you play as a character you don’t know or care about with seemingly no real link to the events of the previous game. The general consensus is that there’s some interesting stuff in here, but it’s buried among endless dialogue that really doesn’t mean much. And they’re right, but I really think there’s some great stuff here that people tend to gloss over. The music and the motif of Twilight Town is atmospheric, there’s some genuinely intriguing plot elements that are woven into Roxas’ story and believe it or not, the stuff that happens here is intrinsic to the rest of the game. So yeah, it drags on a little, but I don’t think KH2 would be miles better without this opening.

11. I loved Breath of the Wild’s final boss

One of the problems I see talked about with Breath of the Wild is that the boss fights are fairly mediocre, especially the very last one, Dark Beast Ganon. And I couldn’t disagree more. I think every boss in the game is wonderfully crafted, intense, challenging and great for testing you on what you’ve learned throughout the game by encouraging you to make creative use of your slate powers and the flurry rush technique. And while Mr. Pig Man at the end here is sort of easy and short, it serves as a brilliantly epic finale to damn near perfect game. While the difficulty is mostly gone after the mammoth fight with Calamity Ganon, it’s still just as intense as you frantically fire off arrows into the massive beast in front of you. Plus, the design of this thing is one of the best looking monsters in the game, so I really don’t understand the dislike for this ending.

10. I really like Crash of the Titans

Okay, so maybe childhood nostalgia has something to do with this pick, but every Crash fan I’m aware of seems to hate this game. But I don’t really know where the hate comes from! I played the PS2 version of this and I thought it was a genuinely fun 3D platformer with a variety of locations, good visuals, well-designed boss battles and even a vague story you can sort of follow! The game’s main gameplay feature is also brilliantly integrated, as using Aku Aku to possess various monsters throughout the game keeps everything interesting. One thing I will say though, that tiger dude you have to fight about halfway through is the most annoying thing I’ve ever had to endure in a game.

9. Life Is Strange: Before the Storm is BAD

I loved Life Is Strange when it first dropped, so I was beyond excited when they announced a prequel from Chloe’s perspective. But I really think they dropped the ball and they dropped it hard. But everyone else seems to adore this game! For me, this wasn’t a touch on the original. For a start, they dropped out one of the main mechanics of the first game, the time travel, which they then replaced with a much less interesting ‘Backtalk’ feature, which was then only used about twice throughout the game. Instead of interesting, developed characters reacting to genuinely dangerous or heartfelt situations, it felt to me like a bunch of one-dimensional teenagers who are edgy for the sake of being edgy. Chloe spends the majority of the game being a dick to her mother and bunking off class to spend time with Rachel, who she has literally known for like a day and their sudden relationship drops out of nowhere. Not that I didn’t enjoy the emotional moments of their relationship, it just didn’t feel like it stemmed from anywhere, unlike Max and Chloe from the first game. And the game’s attempts at villains were also rubbish compared to the first, with Damien (random scary knife guy who doesn’t really tie into the plot that much) and Eliot (who doesn’t appear for the whole game and suddenly goes full incel on Chloe when she breaks into Rachel’s house). Yeah I think you can tell I had some problems with this one.

8. Dishonored: Death of the Outsider was also a hot mess

I LOVE the Dishonored series. The first game and its DLCs are amazing, the second game was arguably even better. And then this happened. In this one, you play as Billie Lurk, a character I love, and Daud comes back, a character I also love. But both of them are incredibly badly written and it doesn’t feel like there’s any development to them or even much reason for them to do what they’re doing. This entry took the mystery surrounding the Outsider and basically did a big poo on it, giving us the revelation that he was apparently HUMAN this whole time. I think that was the nail in the coffin that made me sort of think this was a bit rubbish. While the combat and side missions were as brilliant as ever, the level designs felt less creative than other entries in the series and lacked variety or colour, all the side characters were entirely forgettable and to wrap it all up, they killed Daud offscreen. Out of nowhere, they just killed him, mentioned it offhand in a cutscene and that was that. If you like this game, fair enough, but it kind of baffles me that more people don’t see this in the game.

7. Mario Galaxy 2 is good. It’s just sort of good

Some people cite this as being one of the best 3D platformers of all time, and that’s fair enough, but I just kind of see this one as ‘good’. Sure, it has a good, satisfying control scheme for the most part, the level design is creative and the bosses and puzzles are pretty standard for a Mario title, but still enjoyable. However, sometimes, the floaty physics and weird knockback effect from jumping into walls led to quite a lot of unfair deaths, especially if I’d been punished for messing up already by losing a life, only to then immediately be punished again by falling into the void. Plus, I found Yoshi near impossible to control at some points with the motion controls. So yeah, this one is genuinely enjoyable, but I don’t think I’d personally put it with the best of all time.

6. I LOVE Dragon Quest IX TO DEATH

This is a game in a legendary franchise that consistently almost always see ranked at the very bottom of the pile in the series. But I really don’t understand how or why. Okay so your protagonist and party are basically silent and don’t have a lot of character, but I don’t see this as a reason to totally write off the game! The side characters, villains and story are all amazing and well-developed, the world is huge, colourful and interesting, the monsters are brilliantly creative and Dragon Quest’s signature lame sense of humour is gratefully carried through the whole game. The music is always brilliant and atmospheric and the bosses are just as memorable as each character you meet. What was everyone’s problem?? This is genuinely one of the best RPGs I’ve ever played and if you haven’t had a chance to pick it up, it is so, so worth it.

5. Sonic Adventure is a broken mess

So before I kick this one off, I’m not someone who hates Sonic and I’m not here to slate the whole franchise, but considering this game is often considered to be one of the best in the series, I thought it was definitely worth addressing. When I first played this, I literally couldn’t believe this was made in 1998, AFTER Mario 64 and yet it’s so broken! The physics and control scheme are totally wonky and hard to control, the unending amount of glitches make a fair amount of the stages almost unplayable, the voice acting and facial animation is cringey and oddly broken and yet, this was all on the Dreamcast. The most powerful console of the time. And I don’t think I even need to mention how boring some of the later stages get, with Big the Cat’s fishing section being the main offender. I can’t vouch for Adventure 2 as I haven’t had a chance to play yet, but I really hope it isn’t like this.

4. Dragon Age Origins is the best Dragon Age

Dragon Age has always been a popular RPG series, but I think it properly shot to fame once Inquisition dropped in 2014. And don’t get me wrong, I liked Inquisition! The world was colourful and expansive and the characters were fairly memorable, but I still think the best experience you can get is in the series’ first entry, Origins. While it’s pretty easy to see that it’s slightly dated considering it’s ten years old now, the best characters and story in the series I think is here. Each companion you recruit is varied and developed and the story wraps up brilliantly in the end with each companion and army you meet playing a different role in the final battle. Plus, I kind of can’t forgive Inquisition for making Leliana lose her sense of humour and making her kinda boring.

3. Oblivion is better than Skyrim

Okay so I’m not sure exactly how unpopular this is, but I just thought Oblivion was miles better than Skyrim ended up being. Just to clear it up, I still love Skyrim and I thought it built on the series’ combat system and variety of enemies really well and still provided an enjoyable experience. But Oblivion feels like more of an adventure you feel at home in. The story is dense and full of twists and turns. The soundtrack has some of the most atmospheric music I’ve ever heard, the world is full of bright colours, each city is vastly different and has its own lore and I found some of this to be absent from Skyrim. I’d go into more detail, but I think the simple fact is that Oblivion had so much more I liked than Skyrim.

2. I don’t think The Witcher III is all that amazing (in some regards)

This by no means says that I don’t like the game, because I do, but I think it has more flaws than people let on. Now, don’t get me wrong, a lot of the stuff people praise about this game is true, the quests are in-depth and masterfully crafted, the characters, especially Geralt, are extremely memorable. In fact, Geralt is one of my favourite game protagonists. But most of the problems I had were in terms of the gameplay. The combat, while fast-paced and satisfying, can sometimes feel a little finicky, so a lot of precision is needed. However, I felt that the world itself didn’t particularly interest me and the music is often ambient but outside of combat, isn’t anything special. Mostly though, the leveling system I found to be a bit wonky. I did absolutely everything I could in the first area of the game; all the side quests, treasure hunts, killed a whole bunch of monsters etc. And then I arrive in the second area and find I’m too underleveled to do literally anything. The majority of the quests have too high a level cap, a lot of the monsters kill me very quickly. And because the bulk of EXP farming is in the quests, I’m sort of stuck in an endless loop of constantly not being strong enough to do anything. On top of that, all my equipment keeps breaking and I’m finding that repair kits are extremely few and far between and that makes me even WEAKER. It’s something I’m gonna need to persevere with I think, but hey, this is just my experience with it.

1. Ocarina of Time, as amazing as it is, may have overstayed its welcome as best game of all time

I reckon this might be the most controversial, so it’s number 1. Let me preface this by saying I really like Ocarina and I agree that it was innovative for the RPG genre at the time. There’s a hell of a lot in this game that we have to thank for the games we have today. But considering how far the gaming industry has come since then and the sheer amount of high quality games we’ve been getting year after year, is still fair to call this the best game ever? When more recent games have taken what Ocarina started and built upon it? Games like Breath of the Wild, Horizon Zero Dawn, Red Dead Redemption II, God of War all gave us expansive, beautiful worlds and a story you can really get stuck into. And all the time, more and more games of this caliber are coming out. So yes, of course Ocarina of Time deserves a place in the hall of fame, it was revolutionary and still holds up really well today! I just can’t help but think there have been plenty of games since then, as flawed as some of them may be, that have improved upon the formula tenfold since Ocarina’s release.

Man i feel like i can actually FEEL the teeth in my lower jaw starting to move back into proper alignment to fill the gaps where the wisdom teeth got taken out. Its so weird its like sideways ache? Like theyre being pushed out? Just makes me realize wow how tight and awful they were before. Makes sense that this whole thing caused my front teeth to shatter even though its a back teeth problem. They just got pushed so tight they overlapped like bologna and then snapped in half and got all gross plaque infection in the cracks. Now they got rid of the asshole wisdom teeth and they also did reconstructive surgery on those bologna teeth so now they look EVEN BETTER THAN THEY DID IN THE FIRST PLACE!! Srsly lol they had no frame of reference for what they really looked like so the replacement caps ended up being perfectly sized and straight instead of the big wonky ones they used to be. I actually like my smile for the first time in years!! But man its so worrying to think all these teeth were pushed halfway out of their sockets from all the pressure of the wisdom teeth, and now it looks like i have big gaps where the wisdom teeth used to be but theyve already started closing in just two days since the surgery. Wiggly wiggly sideways back into where youre supposed to be! Teeth are so weird i never knew anything about how teeth works!!!

Also the weirdest side effect of anesthetic is it apparantly gives you problems peeing for 24 hours. Even after all the head fuzzyness was gone and i didnt feel tired or anything, it was like i constantly had to pee but nothing was happening. Had to sit there for ten minutes at a weird angle to get gravitational support lol. I guess that means the muscles in your urinary tract continue being paralyzed longer than the rest of you that got knocked out? I also wasnt able to crap until just now, who would have friggin expected that tooth drugs could mess up your ass? XD Wonder if theres any other parts of your body that the anesthetic wears off more slowly but you dont notice cos its less vital? Like did my ability to smell asparagus go away? Did my spleen temporarily take a nap? Was i unable to wiggle my ears but id just never know cos i couldnt do that anyway? ITS SO WEIRD

Oh also for some reaosn it took quite a while for the tooth pain to kick in at all, and the worst pain has been in my throat. Apparantly they had to hook me up to breathing apparatus during the surgery and the tubes in your throat often leave it feeling scratched afterwards. It just bugged me so much more than the teeth cos it made it hard to drink anything to rehydrate like they wanted me to. And heath hospital does THE BEST MOST FAMOUS HOSPITAL TOAST and it was soooo hard to swallow it with my throat but i had to cos it was amaaaazing~! All the nurses were so nice so i couldnt say no even when the salty crustyness of delicious was destroying my windpipe. It would have been a noble death!

Also odd is that i have a bit of an ache lower down my neck, like a muscle lower near my diaphram and also one under my chin kinda? Thats the same one that was hurting when the wisdom tooth was in there so it makes sense, but the lower neck muscle is weird. I guess maybe i just stretched it bad at a weird angle while i was unconcious and didnt notice til the anesthetic totally wore off

Also like i dont remember ANYTHING about it? It somehow gave me amnesia of stuff before the injection? Is that normal? Ijust renember sittibg on the bed and them saying "hey were gonna wheel you over to surgery now" and then i was waking up in my recovery room three hours later. Dont remember the bed wheelies or getting the injection or the count backwards from ten or anything! I guess thats good cos i was so worried i was gonna say or do something embarassing while i was groggy and now i guess i'll never know. But i feel like the doctors wouodnt have been so nice to me if i had said something stupid, right? And then after i woke up i didnt have any of that comical goofyness either i just felt totally sane but sleepy and dizzy whenever i tried to stand up. And a bit of amplified anxiety but not as bad as i was expecting, i just panicked a bit to the doctor and needed to know a bunch of questions about the surgery to know 100% for sure that it all went right. I was worried that i'd ptsd flashbacks of my childhood or something and embarass myself.

It all ended up going a lot better than expected and i didnt die and i didnt embarassment and all the doctors were SO NICE and just basically i was so scared of my first time going to hospital and it went so well that now im way less scared if i ever need to have surgery again someday! And i can face it with a fabulous looking smile!!

liohart our world was in chaos when we played the game. our ruler, the caesar, died long ago... and no one took his place. alternia was in turmoil. things were so much worse. we played the game, we destroyed efurrything, and when we rebuilt it, he staged a takeover. he's trying to pull it back together... he doesn't furget us. he still talks to us. he helped me get into the cavalreapurrs, or at least to be strong enough to try.
