I have so many!!! I definitely can't name every single one but heres a few that have been extremely influential to me!! This took me 2 hours to write i am SO sorry lmao

Puyo Puyo (Specifially Fever, Quest, and Tetris)

CUTESY BRIGHT BRIGHT COLORS!!!!!! Thats everything I love!!!!!! I'm pretty sure I talked about this when I first got into puyo puyo but I for SURE instantly decided that yep Im steering my style in this direction sorryyyyyy!!! I just think its so fun and silly and cute and rahhh it makes me so happy.

Especially for the work I do most often, which is character portraits without backgrounds, I will often look at puyo puyo posing just to get ideas!! (I've drawn Arle's dumbfounded pose 100000000 times becus I love it so much). The puyo puyo anatomy has very noodly arms and legs but with big ass shoes and accessories which is probably my favorite design thing in the world....

I seriously recommend just looking through the Puyo Puyo Nexus wiki for pose ideas (if you want something cute/silly of course) because every single one is just perfect. I am trying to get out of some dumb art habits of my own right now, but hopefully in the future you'll be able to see more goofy poses with sillier effects :3

Muse Dash Again I want you to look at the COLORS. Its so bright and this time you can really tell where I took my shading style from. I dont want my shadows to be dark I want them to be PINK or PURPLE. thank you. For my own art, I really try to make it so the darkest "black" is actually a deep purple or blue, and as I keep making art that dark color keeps getting just a bit lighter haha...

This is also the reason I color my lineart the way I do. I just really want to add as many colors as possible into the image. And if the image looks a bit more pink after that then thats just an extra perk!!

I also need to bring up the animation because they're just so bouncy and alive!!! This is like an instant stunlock for me, I have to look at them, theyre so BOUNCYYY!!!!!! I don't do much animation but every other week I get the sudden urge to try tweening again just to eventually get to the point I can make something similar to these for my own ocs lol

Great Pretender This show has some of the most gorgeous art ive ever seen. All the backgrounds are so bright and colorful. I dont usually draw art with backgrounds anymore sadly, but when I used to I really tried to study these for them. And I hope in the future I can make more art and show how far I've come.

Though I;ve changed to a more chibi style in recent times (thanks puyo puyo), this was still one of the first times I had ever watched a show and said "Oh my god I love this artstyle I need to get better at art" and Its always in my mind for that reason.

you talking about the routes in this game being a metaphor for college and purposes in life reminds me of what playing pqr has meant for me personally. i first found this game when jade's route was still being worked on (the "anticlimatic" update specifically) and its really so strange to see how much of my life has changed. a couple days after i started playing pqr i realized that i was going to have to move and it basically uprooted my life (realization not brought on by pqr just happened to be at around the same time). most of my plans for how i wanted to spend my life, seeing my friends, my career paths, kinda felt like they got eviscerated because of stuff out of my control. but i just like. ignored it and didnt really think about it :) at least until the move happened and it all came crashing down. im sorta better now, but still going through it. and. just seeing jade talk to kanaya and talk about not knowing where to go next or who exactly you are now plus the jade theme music playing in the background that i had listened to constantly while playing, replaying, and rereplaying jade's route. actually made me want to bawl my eyes out (in like a good way though lol). this game is so special to me. its been one of the main things in my life right now thats been keeping me going through it all. i love to go back to it and replay it comparing the older routes to the newer routes and see what references i missed. everytime i play it, it feels like a find something new. and i think even years after now and even if homestuck becomes a smaller part of my life, this game is going to stick with me forever. thank you so so so much.

continuing the theme of friendship i guess I think fl4k and moze are good friends. fl4k is not a machine built for combat so i think moze helps them if they need repairs after a long day and they kind of just became closer over time (im kind of biased because i played through bl3 as fl4k with my friend who played as moze. but still) personally i think the possibilities for interpersonal vault hunter relationships r quite literally endless and they need to be explored more I got a little off track but w/e

anyways back to fl4kzer0 this one is sillier but i think they use eachothers titles as terms of endearment. like "assassin" or "beastmaster" or just "vault hunter"

hi there and dw, im always up to talk about my scosage art or scosage in general😁!

about the gargoyles au im sure i had some ideas back when i first drew that piece a while ago but i never wrote anything down. What little i can remember is that it used the empires cast. Unlike Elisa in the show Scott is not a detective but a journalist and thats how he ends up meeting Sausage after hearing some rumors about a billionaire putting a medieval castle on his skyscrpper and deciding to be nosy about it.

Scott and Sausage start dating way faster than the hell of a slowburn Goliath and Elisa have. Scott just saw this silly hunk of a gargoyle and decided he wanted a piece of that XD, Sausage also didnt have a mate from 1000 years ago nor as much inhibitions about a human/gargoyle relationship as Goliath.

Pearl and fWhip are both gargoyles. fWhip is Sausage's rookery brothers in a similar way to Goliath and Coldstone, while Pearl came from the next hatching. fWhip adapted really well to the modern day, instantly taking an interest in machines and technology, Pearl is just glad there are still baddies for her to punch.

I was really indecisive about Gem tho. I love me the roseblings but gargoyle twins are impossible unless they somehow hatched from the same egg and having them being different ages idk is missing something. So in the end i decided to make Gem an human and be friends with Scott in a similar way to Matt Bluestone with Elisa (tho idk what her profession could be, she could be a co-worker of Scott's or be a detective who helps Scott and the gargoyles), and just know i thought like Matt maybe she is interested in proving something is real but instead of illuminatis she is trying to prove magic is real. Eventually she meets the gargoyles and becomes really close to fWhip in a familial way.

Jimmy is also a human and Scott's ex but they are in good terms. He is part of law enforcement (something something sheriff? XD) and is trying to figure out if the gargoyles are risky or not (not because he wants but because of his job, he's never seen them do anything bad so he doesnt think they are a menace), and Scott has quite some fun leading him to dead ends.

The rest of the empires crew im not so sure about.

Shubble could take a role like Angela, being a younger gargoyle from the Avalon clan, raised there with the other eggs from Sausage, Pearl and fWhip's clan before the massacre and wanting to see the modern world (but not she is not related to Sausage).

Katherine could be a child or even a grandchild of Oberon.

Pix could perhaps be Scott or Jimmy's boss. Or he could be a gargoyle and the leader of Sausage's group.

Lizzie and Joel idk beyond being Jimmy's sister and Jimmy's brother-in-law, so human but thats it.

And Joey im drawing absolute blanks😅. (he could be the billionare in question, lol would be fun if the equivalent of Fox in this au were Xornoth and Scott no likey his brother marrying some rich fuck)

As for the plot i dont have any concrete story beyond the basic plot of Gargoyles but sillier. So Sausage, fWhip and Pearl (and maybe Pix) were gargoyles living in a medieval castle 1000 years ago but they were betrayed and 98% of their clan was massacred and they were put in a stone sleep until their castle was put on a skyscraper by some billionaire and the spell was broken, now they need to learn to navigate this strange new world, making new friends and allies along the way

there are many characters I wish I could watch an AU where they lived, but am generally not torn up that they had to die to move the plot forward because I thought the final story was compelling. but there is one character I really did not like seeing die for many reasons, and that was Jill :(

11) Thoughts on Saw VII

Saw 3D they cant make me hate you. i dont often dislike movies at all, actually. in most films, even widely hated ones, i like trying to find the positive. i can usually list at least one aspect i enjoyed & Saw 3D was no different.

I know theres some argument about how in-character some people were, but i dont like getting into that sort of thing. I dont want to dig into writers and script n shit that much, that reminds me too much of how I used to fandom. ugh, barf. thats taking things way too seriously for my taste now. Going into it, I had no idea about any of that, I was just thinking about how things progressed from the last film, right?

so whatever characters do, thats canon now. i just gotta deal w it and adapt my characterization accordingly whether i like it or not

so I explain things like Hoffman and Lawrence's behavior as simply losing what little humanity they had left. Listen. Like, the guys have been though an absolute hell of an experience in different ways, and spent a significant amount of time drinking John's kool-aid. He had a way with words and was a master manipulator.

Hoffman just spent the last four movies slowly spiraling further down and down into the hole he was digging himself in, i had no problem with him going full terminator in the end. He was off the deep end and his penchant for revenge reared its ugly head once again, and he couldn't be stopped. he was blinded by his own bad decisions and nobody could stop him- he killed them all. He was drunk with power and behaved at times like a cornered animal that snapped.

his slasher rampage made me fall in love with him, after all. it opened my eyes to him being more than just "boring cop jigsaw" (though my tune was starting to change by Saw VI)

Lawrence was recruited during likely another vulnerable position in his life, recovering from the trauma of the trap, likely also dealing with a divorce and more. Him returning to be an apprentice was fanfiction, but what can I say? I dont hate fanfiction movies. I like what apprentice!Lawrence has brought to the table in the grand scheme.

i also enjoy some of the campier sillier moments. Horsepower trap, my beloved

i dont love all of it. but idk. im forgiving w "bad films". very few are completely without any intriguing moments

my hypothesis was RIGHT they are using a material thats more like the beanie buddys than the beanie babies, im not sure if its the Same bc my patti beanie buddy is a bit older so the softness feels different just bc ive had her for a couple years and her life in a cardboard box atm but visually they look identical to me (beanie buddy pattis beak is def a different material tho or its just dirty lol i need to give her a bath)

my girl patti 2 is shorter and is a lot more rounded out/less of a distinct shape like ms patti. its ep noticable in the head shape and the butt where 2 has more of a rounded hill while 1 is more two hills. i think theyre just going more towards the plush designs a lot of more modern plushes go for these days design and material wise, but keeping the general idea of a beanie baby in mind. id also compare them more to the beanie buddys in the design but it still feels different bc beanie buddys have a different purpose in the world than the anniversary patti. 1 and 2s eyes are different too with 1s eyes being closer together and being more prominent while 2s are farther

the tag designs on the outside r p similiar besides the text calling it a beanie official baby but that always fluctuates, its the thin tezt design theyve been doing for awhile. the poem is the same as pattis 1s so nothing to add there, i vastly prefer 1sts pattys tag design bc it feels very 'theres no design that weve worked to death on over the years' so they could do whatever. but i womt take a pic bc its similiar to any new ty tag. her birthday is july 6th though :)

i think its really cool the way the company isnt just making the exact same thing but mixing whats popular now with what weve had before. it does make me a little sad just bc i do prefer the older designs bc they feel a lot sillier and i like that they arent perfectly round yknow. pattis 1 beak jolts out of her head in a funny but distinct way and 2s is just there. not to say i dont like 2 i think shes adorable but its just different. overall im really happy with her and im glad theyre doing this for the 30th anniversary :') i think pattis happy with it too

The fem vox is the title I gave one of my drawning after saving it for the first time at 1am, after 2h of work haha. It is a fanart of @/blackblood-tonic's desighn. i was REAAAAALLLY into life is strange in the fall of 2021... hold on post on hold i can't believe its coming up to 2 years since i first watched my friend stream it. fuuuuuuuck. anyway. i had this life is strange in the fire emblem three houses universe AU gdgjnf like. the LIS charas were in FE3H and were in the diff houses and stuff. i didnt have too much of it fleshed out but i had this idea for rachel and max with rachel basically taking the role of sothis and oiiuggh i still love the idea so much

also had a danganronpa in a fire emblem three houses universe and vice versa... and for these i had more ideas for the DR in the FE3H universe AU for some reason. i think coming up w/ classes and backstory was easier for me idk. i remember having this whole thing written out.... i actually have a whole doc if anyonne is interested.... its real old and bad though so i probably wont share it publicly but 🤷 we'll see. came up w/ most of the ultimates / talents for the FE3H guys... didnt come up w/ much more than that however. i think coming up w/ whos gonna kill who + motives + murder details was too much for me to handle. hence why i dont have tooooo much w/ this AU. i really do want to go back to these one day though

First impression: *looking up Jaden's yugipedia page two years ago* "I'm sorry what the hell is this about him fusing with a Duel Monster??? HELLO?? HI????"

Impression now: YUBEEEL i like them a lot, moreso now that I did right after finishing GX...season 3 of gx is kind of a mess in a lot of ways but it's not really their fault. I'm not rly someone who enjoys "soul fusion with your soulmate" much as concept personally and I'm not terribly big on what s3 had to do to jaden's character to make that endgame possible, so that's not really my favorite thing surrounding Yubel, but theyre such a genuinely interesting and engaging character and yugioh villain. Also lbr her design fucking kicks ass. I wish she got to be a little sillier, a little goofier!! The GX character birthright!!!

Favorite moment: Yubel!Jesse vs. Zane duel, full stop. Still genuinely one of the greatest duels I have seen in yugioh thus far. tfw GX had a color and lighting budget for like 3 episodes and it slapped like absolute hell.

Idea for a story: im very fond of my College AU Yubel, very love the idea of them having to write an essay that Jaden slacked on and then they actually get really into it. Compiling knowledge of the Baroque period they have zero use for but find interesting nonetheless...

Unpopular opinion: I've talked about it a couple times before but I don't really go to jaden/yubel as a romantic ship; I personally enjoy it much more as a platonic soulmates read (like. idk. if they didnt have the element of "yubel has been looking out for jaden Since He Was a Little Kid" i'd be more into it i think. just not really my favorite, that point. and again just not big on soulfusion. but im aro dont listen to me fjdgsg)

Favorite relationship: that being said i Do really like the potential of jaden and yubel's dynamic and it's unfortunate s4 Is so short so you only really get a small glimpse of it. they can play off each other really well and there IS so much love there! i wanna see things play with their little individual habits driving each other insane. Yubels gonna reach into jay's jacket pocket and get a handful of crumbs and I think he's gonna be a little "damn bitch you live like this?" THATS my favorite jaden n yoob dynamic.

Favorite headcanon: I really love transfem Any Pronouns yubel. Also I know in my heart of hearts they'd be a complete metalhead, but like, also for music from two thousand years ago. Yubel is a very Iron Maiden T-Shirt coded character to me I will not be elaborating.

oh! on that note! the entirety of 'You Don't Know'! I actually loved it!!

of course i do wish there was a song entirely dedicated to either taka or his and mondo's relationship, i do love the blending of that song!! im always weak for chorus and overlaying parts in musicals and that song scratched such an itch for that stuff with the dangan cast. with the whole ~bro~ tension combined with chihiro's struggle, some totally gal pal times with hina and sakura, celeste and hifumi's whole deal AND kyoko's struggles? in one song? YES. plus the ending with the entire cast sort of singing to the audience honestly gave me goosebumps.

backtracking a little tho, one thing that i wish was included and might expand on separately was the dead joining in as chorus. especially during trials! it would add such a third dimension to the intensity of those debates to hear a sort of haunting chorus in the background from those who died. and those guys deserved more screen time anyway!!! The ultimate pop sensation and ultimate soundcloud rehead barely getting any song space is criminal :(

again, these are small things and this musical as a whole was a miracle. so many talented people putting their efforts into creating and singing for it was amazing to hear!!! also the UDG musical is in the works (to my knowledge) because theater kids never rest!!!

“You Don’t Know” is starting to grow on me on re-listen. It wasn’t my favorite at first because I went into it thinking it was going to be THE sauna battle duet song, and then was kind of disappointed when I found out that the actual sauna battle part was only regulated to one verse and chorus. I was like, “dang, that’s it?” But now that I know that, I’m starting to appreciate the song as a whole, outside of the stuff having to do with the ishimondos. There’s still a lot going on in that song, but having all the parts come together for the climax of the song is really good. It’s a good song.

And YES, having the dead come back as the chorus is still a good idea. There’s technically nothing saying that they aren’t part of the chorus, sense the background singers could still very much be the dead students.

I think it would’ve been neat to have a song where Makoto has to deal with the inner struggles of carrying the weight of the dead students on his shoulders. Like a song where they all come back to sort of haunt him, with Sayaka kind of being the one leading the song because she’s the one Makoto’s most guilty about. It’d just be neat to have, especially since the closing number of the whole show is about the survivors carrying the memories of the dead students and using their chance at life to remember and honor them. It’d just make more sense as a closer if it’s established earlier on that Makoto sort of feels guilty for the deaths of the others.

and an ishida song would’ve made me go feral. It could’ve been a deeper song about his dependence on alter ego to keep him afloat, or a sillier song just establishing him as a little weirdo. Either way, I would’ve been fine with it.

And I’m glad to hear that they’re working on making musicals for the other installments. I have no idea how a UDG musical would go, but I’m excited to find out!

This is a kind of silly one BUT like havd this cringe weird au where like cartman has another kid in post covid (I called her jane cuz she reminds me of rtc jane doe for her personality) and for some reason I see her sm with kyle's daughter (aubrey) kinda like menorah and eli and it would be so funny like cartman realizing that both of his kids are dating/have a crush on his rival's/enemie's kids but aside from that I see jane totally like freaking aubrey out and aubrey being kinda scared of her at first because she literally appeared out of nowhere all the time spooking everyone even if she doesn't mean to I feel she got curious about aubrey because observing a bit she realized they didn't seemed as bad as her dad told her,so she tries like get closer to her but accidentally spooks her a lot at first

personally i see aubrey as being cautious towards jane bc her and moisha do not get along at all, and in gen the rivalry is a family wide thing, so while she's polite to the other members of the cartman family that don't bother her (totally on her own volition bc she's such a mature child and not bc her dad has severely reprimanded her for severely injuring moisha in multiple fights, no sir!) they're all on thin ice really.

REALLY hard for me to share, despite how much I do try to talk about it publicly (or at least update my toyhouse as much as possible when i feel like doing that), there's always that sense of. people either boiling my characters down to Tropes/who's the Bad one and who's the Good One. whos the character thats meant to be a personal attack on someone (none of them are) n whos the character that is meant to be relatable (none of them are PURPOSELY written to be that way) n it just. really goddamn sucks sometimes. i could talk about specifics with my main trio specifically, over the course of time that i've had Hue, Magni, and Clyde, theyve all been weirdly misunderstood in their own way that i have gotten to the point of having to reevaluate those folks n look inward into seeing if that perception of themselves can be weaved into the plot. but honestly i think ill catch myself in a bad mood atm if i think about it too hard. tldr on that; i try to microdose my story when sharing it to others, n even then i get really nervous about the idea that my story wont be valued/understood as a whole, which is partially of my own doing as well bc i do have a tendency to Put a Lot into characters once i get super attached to them. ..so nowadays im too burned out to do that :"P once i make that pitch bible, it probably still wont fix that, but its still a project im committing to nonetheless! 🧅 [ONION] What is surefire to make your OC cry?
