dearest triglycercule followers i have a dilemma i require your assistance in
i've been working on this multiverse called swapinverse (you may have seen some teaser posts from me recently :3 it's what i've been grinding out) and in this multiverse it's basically like one character does what another character does while keeping their own elements and having completely different reasons and backstories and stuff and rn i have 8 characters to be done:
savior (dust!killer), mania (horror!dust), paranoia (killer!horror), tint&shade (ink!dream & ink!nightmare), siphon (corrupt nightmare!ink), crash (error!cross)
AND FINALLY vice.SER. a CORE frisk!error. who i have no idea what i'm gonna do. i have a few ideas and i SERIOUSLY cannot pick so (even though i wanted to keep swapinverse a secret) im asking 4 ur help in deciding what i wanna do 😕😕 basically pick the best idea (THESE ARE JUST BASIC CONCEPTS WITH NO DEPTH I HAVE MORE DETAILS THAN THIS) and any suggestions
backstory idea 1: geno/error (unsure of which) falls into the core and gets scattered across spacetime like corefrisk does. this one has issues because corefrisk only exists because of the reset button and geno/error dont have reset despite having determination. also it feels a bit uncreative compared to the others that i have planned (oh the lore for swapinverse characters are SO INTERESTING AHAHAHAH)
backstory idea 2: geno is experimenting with determination and transports himself into the antivoid and his last thoughts before errorfying are something something along the lines of blaming the human (connects with goal idea 3)
goal idea 1: IF idea 1 happens then geno (i think this would be more geno deviating than error so is it REALLY corefrisk!error or just corefrisk!geno) helps other genocide survivors by bringing them to the antivoid/void/omega timeline IDK
goal idea 1.5: other possibility for idea 2 is instead of having pure intentions like idea 2 says, vice.SER is kinda like a villian and corrupting characters by glitching them out in the antivoid and then having that army kill all humans in the multiverse (THIS IS SO DRAMATIC but these are all just possible ideas)
goal idea 2: vice.SER is unpredictable and sometimes decides to be a humanitarian (helping people like in idea 2) and then other days he could be deciding to take over the multiverse. this ideas fun because im kinda struggling to decide if i want vice.SER to do good or bad things (and also the mst haven't met each other and aren't involved in the multiverse so i kinda want him to be the one to drag them into multiversal shenanigans)
idea 3: vice.SER is going around bringing geno survivors and timelines that have gone through genos (since geno has the ability to give back memories to people BUT i have to finish rereading aftertale to see if he keeps this power at the end) and reminding them of the genos theyve been though (for those that dont remember) and he's doing this all in the hopes of going against the players/creators and breaking free from the scripts and plots that we give them
so yeah those are my backstory/goal ideas for vice.SER so far :3 elements i wanna be SURE to keep is geno/error origins, bringing people into a space like CORE does (antivoid or void or omega timeline doesn't matter ill make it work) or if NOT bringing people to spaces then maybe omnisight/presence like CORE (but canon error already kinda has omnisight since he can see the scripts/codes and that's kinda like seeing the past/present/future like omnisight gives you
UGHHH this is so hard but pls i need helllppppp 😭😭

Tbh I've seen people compare the qsmp reset to hermitcraft and honestly I disagree? Like I think the reason that hermitcraft seasons work is because the hermits go into the season knowing that there is gonna be a reset, and also know months in advance around when the season is coming to an end
idk when the qsmp members were told there was going to be a reset (I've heard some people say that they were only told about it during the break but I don't know if that's true or not) but there's obviously a problem with communication between the admins and the players, I don't think it's inherently bad to keep secrets so that they'll be surprised but I think they should be told in advance when something is going to seriously affect gameplay/lore yknow?

Why…are you so angry about my little hehe-haha, not to be taken so seriously post? Name calling and all is quite unnecessary. It could have just been left as a “agree to disagree, have a nice day,” situation. You didn’t have to say anything to me at all. “Peak comedy” was the irony of seeing the two post practically back to back when both are at complete opposites of the spectrum, not your opinion.
Like, dude, bro, I don’t know you and you don’t know me, so why do you think you do? I lack the ability to understand complex characters? Some of my favorite characters in media are the villains, the anti-heroes, the side characters because they’re complex. Don’t know if you’re an anime watcher or not, but my pfp is Dabi from My Hero Academia, a very complex character. Loki is among one of my favorite characters in general because of how complex he and his story is. I could go on about Miguel O’Hara in Across the Spider-Verse and how he isn’t a villain and is tragically misunderstood by a lot of people who saw the movie, or Jason Todd, or Gojo and Toji in Jujutsu Kaisen, Levi in Attack on Titan, Zhongli in Genshin Impact and so many other characters. I do this to my friends pretty frequently.
My second favorite character in the franchise is Scorpion/Hanzo Hisashi, now Kuai Liang, which…is gonna take a lot of getting used to tbh. He’s gotta be just as complex as Bi-Han is. There’s a lot to understand about his story and character.
Astarion from BG3 and all of his actually morally grey and sometimes worse little gremlin ways is all I can think of as of late. But I don’t understand complex characters, mkaaaayyyyy.
I didn’t add my little post to yours because I just didn’t see the need to? No, I’m certainly not old enough to have played a vast majority of the MK games, doesn’t mean I’m not an enjoyer and don’t watch videos about the lore from people who know far more than I do. That’s why I didn’t reference any other game, just this one specifically and what it offers. As someone else replied, the game is a touch inconsistent. Largely, Bi-Han is a dick in this game. He has his own motives and wants, totally fine good for him, they just really don’t lay anywhere near morally good lol
And seeing as how MK1 is a complete reboot, he seems quite irredeemable, or at least has some very low lows. In this game, he’s a pretty shit son for letting his father die and then lying about it to his brothers. In this game, he’s pretty shit for siding with Shang Tsung even if he feels trapped by Liu Kang and wanted more freedom. In this game, he’s a pretty shit brother for threatening to kill his younger brother’s wife to his face. Did he show concern about Kuai Liang and Tomas’ safety when infiltrating the fortress? Of course, they are his family. He can show concern and remorse. I don’t think that’s off limits to characters I see as somewhat evil or at least super shitty. I also don’t think he’d change his actions if he had the chance. He has his vision for the Lin Kuei and that goes against what his father believed and what his brothers believe.
The timeline has reset; everything else means nothing now. Fujin said Noob was born as a good person? Past tense, for starters, and that was MK11. That timeline doesn’t exist anymore. Kuai Liang trying to find a way to turn Bi-Han good again in his MK11 ending? Means he wasn’t good and, again, that timeline is gone. You say Armageddon isn’t the canon timeline. Full stop right there. It ain’t canon. He can be good in it, sure, but that’s not the main timeline. That’s like saying Smoke is a cyborg. Sure, he was, but he isn’t now. That’s not canon anymore. This is a new man - this is a new Bi-Han, and again, I made it pretty clear I was only talking about his actions in MK1, so I really didn’t ask about the other games.
You misunderstood what I meant when I said peak comedy, which I can say is my fault and could have worded it slightly differently. But then you go and say I hit rock bottom, essentially say I’m a coward, brain dead, I’m immature…somehow, and lack the capability to understand complex characters? I’m assuming you’re older than me judging by your little “dig” in the tags. That’s all a touch immature but go off
Slight MK1 story spoilers involving the Lin Kuei
Peak comedy is me scrolling through tumblr’s version of my fyp and seeing someone say Bi-Han in MK1 isn’t a one dimensional character. Which is true, he’s very complex. He feels like he is being controlled by Liu Kang. He has to answer to him to a certain extent. He probably felt the same about his father, the former grandmaster of the Lin Kuei. Shang Tsung offered him more leadership, free to do essentially whatever he wants. Which isn’t true because, be real, it’s Shang Tsung and even he answers to someone else. But then saying he was right with siding with Shang Tsung and that he isn’t evil. Then two posts later, I see this
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His younger brother telling him to stay away from his wife and Bai-Han just going like “lol bffr do you know who I am?” Like, mans confessed to letting their father die just so he can take over, sides with Shang Tsung, is okay with the idea of Shang Tsung wiping out millions of lives, and then threatens to kill his brother’s wife. And we all know his threats are just promises he’s waiting to cash in.
But yeah, he totally isn’t evil

So here’s another tumblr rant:
*inhales* THIS ****LANDMARK**
Holy- just- as mark said, it’s too significant to just be called a “stepping stone”. And not just for mark, Eff, and Amy. For those who were involved with unnus annus- its just such and important event and time that the fandom has witnessed. This channel, mark and Ethan-have impacted so many people. With me being one of those people, i got into this fandom late and it still hit like a truck being a part of it. And I didn’t really get invested until like a few months ago but it’s just another thing that makes you think. How, it’s what they’ve been saying. It’s their message. We have so little time and once it starts running out you feel that pressure of being rushed even when you’ve had all that time.
Tbh, mark and Ethan were just regular youtubers to me before the start of the channel but once it came into existence, it just- they hit different. And I feel like it’s the same for a lot of people, it brought so many of us together and gave us all the same existential crisis, the same realization of time and death.
What the channel brought was such an significant message that has continuously been brought up throughout the year, not just by unnus annus but by the year itself. Momento mori, remember you will die. And it bothers me so much to hear people say it in such a grave way. Like it’s just some angst phrase. It means so much and the double meaning. Remember you will die. And remember to live. It makes us reflect so much on what we have and what we take for granted. The ending of unnus annus isn’t just the death of a channel, it’s a fucking rememinder to live our lives. Nothing is promised. And that’s great.
Their message was delivered so perfectly well and was such a big impact. It like- a literal New Years. There’s always that moment of realization during New Years that time is passing us by, and with those thoughts we set goals for ourselves. Saying we’ll do better, strive to improve ourselves. I know damn well rarely any one takes their New Years resolutions seriously.
But this channel- Mark,Ethan,Amy, everyone who put their passion into it. With so many of us begging for them to stop the clock, or reset, or just don’t delete the channel. It teaches us that nobody can stop it. We don’t have control. Same vibes as New Years, yet it just hits different. Cause it really does motivate us to accomplish those goals, It gives us those emotions of just loss and pain. We’ve physically seen how much can happen in one year, how quickly it went by, how crazy it was. The little moments, the big ones, the slightly cryptic lore ones. Making us want to actually improve ourselves and strive to be better because we know we really can.
I know I keep saying this but the way their message was delivered was so fucking beautiful, and it was in such a unique way that nobody can ever recreate. They can try, but it will always be different.
It makes you reflect on life, and just think.
Fuck I lost myself in this rant, I could go on about life and death for days. Anyways, memento mori. 🦕
Edit: fuck-what are we gonna watch and look forward to now. Unnus annus was my shampoo and conditioner. Iykyk

April Fools Special Review: Part 1
I had some ideas regarding this day. I initially was going to do a spoof review of a hypothetical Session 3 arc, but given that its looking that the Puppetmaster is gonna be a big wham arc, I think I’ll hold off because if I write say how Kana manages to deduce where Iroha’s family hideout is located and then she freaking dies, that kinda kills the joke. Then I was going to do a spoof review on why Oncoming Storm is the best arc ever, but then it would be too obvious that this was a joke. So instead, because I said I was going to do a new ‘style’ of reviewing, how about a test drive of that? After all reviews aren’t just about the Arcs overall, you can also do reviews on various characters.
So, this is going to be a non-jokey review on an individual character. This is just a test run to see what general reception of these character reviews are. If you guys like them, I have a few characters lined up for this to sprinkle in if the Mod feels like they want a break at some point. If not well…you just get a one-shot character review and that’s that. With that out of the way who is going to get the honours of getting the character review treatment?
Let’s start things off with a strong one. It’s widely accepted that the best Arc overall is the Concert Arc, so naturally the focus should be on one of the Otonokoji Twins and because Kanade looks like she is still got more to bring to the table, lets focus on who’s had the best character development by far, the would have been Ultimate Vocalist, and Death herself; Hibiki Otonokoji!
Important Note: This review is factually accurate up to Connections. As Puppetmaster, the current Arc is still in progress I’m not counting that so if something big relating to Hibiki occurs there it won’t be included in this.
Shattering the Bird Cage
Out of all the SDRA2 characters, the character who got robbed the most in terms of development was Hibiki. I’m not happy with Nikei’s ultimate fate or the fact that Iroha got zero character development but overall, I do feel satisfied with their character arcs, and can see what LINUJ was trying to do. Hibiki never got that chance as she died in Chapter 3, y’know that one chapter which has a notorious reputation for robbing characters of their character developments? *Taka, Hiyoko and Tenko coughs* I already had bad feelings that something was gonna happen to the twins because I seriously thought LINUJ was going to kill one off, and then the other would be a survivor. And it could have worked both ways, Hibiki being offed and Kanade learns to be more assertive of herself, or Kanade dies and Hibiki realises she needs to mature as an individual. As the game progresses though, you get the sense there’s something wrong with the twins. Kanade seemed too calm and too useful and as I mentioned in a previous arc review, I thought that Kanade was lying about her talent as that’s a common occurrence in Danganronpa. But Chapter 3 changed all that. After realising the previous two murders were indirectly caused by her immaturity and that she needs to take responsibility for her actions, Hibiki starts to go through some character development and becomes more useful to the group overall. But then the motive videos and her bitch of a sister slam-dunked that.
Point is, Hibiki couldn’t break away from her sister even if she tried. Heck, the Otonokoji Twins share their FTEs so you CANNOT do Hibiki and Kanade individually. As I pointed out to the Mod, I understood from a lore perspective why this was done, but I still found it very frustrating. But one of the main goals of ASOOT is that characters who got little to no character development or were done dirty, got their redeeming chance. And by heck did we get it. Nikei may have been the first Another character to make an appearance, but he wasn’t the first Another character mentioned, heck he was only the 4th character, as the Twins and Kanata came before him! When Hajime was searching information on people who would get caught up in the Tragedy during the Practical Exams arc when recovering from his ankle injury, he came across information that the Otonokoji Twins as part of their nationwide tour, were planning to visit Tokyo on July 5th. After hearing from the Anons how much of a bitch Kanade was, he made notes to do something about it but nothing much came from it. But as we know the Practical Exams had a heck of a fallout as Hajime revealed his superhero persona Kasugano for the first time to the general public, and the fallout of his exposing the teachers’ abuse meant that a third of the facility staff got fired, including the school’s guidance councillor. This meant Hope’s Peak brought in more people, mainly alumni from previous classes, and among them was Yoruko Kabuga, the former Ultimate Hostess. She requested to see Hajime which seemed very unusual. Sure, Hajime had a bit of a reputation in Hope’s Peak at that point as his preventing of Natsumi and Sato from killing themselves was extremely well known in the school and he has a few friends from the Main Course, but a newcomer like Yoruko wouldn’t have known that, it’s got to be more than that. And when talking to Yoruko, she accidently slipped and called Hajime ‘Kamakura’, but she shouldn’t have known about Hajime and Izuru being linked. Firstly, knowledge on the Project shouldn’t be known to her, and secondly Hajime cancelled his participation in said project. The only way that Yoruko could have known is if she is like Hajime and came from the future. A quick trip to the Physics building and a scan from Umeko confirmed that yes, Hajime isn’t the only time traveller around and Yoruko is another fellow resident from the OG Timeline.
Yoruko now being a fellow time traveller, obviously meant she threw her lot in with Hajime and joined the Quantum Crew. With that Hajime was able to get more details about the Void Killing Game from her, trying to persuade her that Void CAN be redeemed, and said they are no different from him and his friends, who did more fucked up shit then they did. Yoruko was relucent but she did relent in the end. And with Yoruko, Hajime was able to get precise details and after hearing how deprived Kanade truly was and that Hibiki was the biggest victim in all of this, he decided to go to the concert for two reasons. Firstly, to expose to the world Kanade’s true nature and get her arrested, and secondly to rescue Hibiki.
Naturally things didn’t go to plan at first as Kanade showed precisely WHY she gotten away from killing for so long as she tricked Hajime and Chiaki into eating poisoned chocolate and they died slowly and painfully. But little did Kanade or Hajime know is that he had a special power. When bathing with his girlfriends, yes plural, they noticed that Hajime had 9 glowing dots on his back and they are emitting concentrated Tachyonic energy that Umeko couldn’t figure out why this was going on. But when Kanade killed Hajime, he suddenly found himself outside of the hotel with Chiaki and the twins a few hours earlier. He hastily changed his plans and once back at the hotel he looked in the mirror and saw that his once 9 dots are now 8, implying he has up to nine lives, and he used one up. It’s a cool mechanic and it makes sense because whatever power bestowed Hajime with this ability also knows that Junko is a very tough opponent to defeat. It also gives Hajime a bit of a safety net so if things go really wrong, he can just reset and try again.
But eventually Hajime and co succeeded in nailing Kanade and getting her arrested, and Hibiki’s worldview just shatters. Imagine if you are Hibiki for a second. Throughout your entire life your parents have neglected you and all you had was your twin little sister. You did a lot of activities together and eventually discovered you two are really good at music, and thus decide to put a band together, and it became so good and popular that you decided to hit the idol industry. Your band, Melody Rhythm, topped the charts and your nationwide tour is a huge success. Sure, there is that annoying ‘curse’ rumours about how everyone close to you disappeared or committed suicide, but those are dumb rumours by haters, you don’t let that bother you. Then in Tokyo, you meet up with some students from Hope’s Peak Academy and they are looking to scout you and your sister for the prestigious school that graduation guarantees success for life. Hajime, the Ultimate Detective, said that those ‘curse rumours’ aren’t mere rumours, there is in fact a stalker that is after you and your sister and they are responsible for all the disappearances and suicides that have plagued your life. That’s…worrying but surely with the Ultimate Detective on the case, the stalker will be caught, those nasty curse rumours will disappear and you have new friends in Hope’s Peak Academy, right? And you get along really well with him and his girlfriend Chiaki, the Ultimate Gamer. Then one day you and Chiaki are shopping and meet up with some of Chiaki’s friends, who also seem like nice people. You are a bit worried where Kanade is but Chiaki said she’s with Hajime so they will join up with you two shortly. And then Chiaki goes to the bathroom and suddenly, the speakers in the shopping mall come to life. A conversation between Hajime and Kanade is broadcasted across the entire mall, and the truth comes out. All those disappearances…all those suicides…all those accidents…all of them were caused by the one person you trusted above all else, and worst of all, she did it because she had an incestuous lust over you and would kill anyone who gets close to you in order to degrade your mind into a subservient ‘puppet state’ where you do EVERYTHING she asks for. And just like that life as you knew it was OVER.
Unsurprisely Hibiki does not take the news well, so badly she takes it she immediately turns into the ‘puppet state’ where in her catatonic state, Chiaki and Mikan had to carry her to Yoruko’s car, thankfully, Hibiki is a short and light girl so this task is a lot easier than it could have been. I mean if Iroha of all people was able to carry Kanade back to the Monocruise in SDRA2, then I’m sure the combined efforts of Chiaki and Mikan could cope. After Kanade is tied up having been beaten to near unconscious by Sonia, clearing up all evidence that Hajime was there, and Gundham having finished leaving the evidence behind for the police, everyone then heads back to Hope’s Peak, where Hibiki is brought before the psychologists of the school, Koroko and Miaya. Neither of them could make heads or tails of the ‘puppet state’ and for the first few days, Hibiki was stuck in the Puppet State, being fed IV drips to keep her alive. Despite all the best efforts of Koroko and Miaya, they couldn’t snap her out of it, or even figure out what it was. Yoruko though had an idea to restore Hibiki. According to Kanade, the Puppet State does wear off after a while but we don’t know what the time limit is at the moment, or if the shock of finding out her sister’s true nature regressed to into a permanent Puppet State. Yoruko then over the course of the next few days, went through various interviews that the Otonokoji Twins had and got some voice clips of Kanade together in order to digitally construct a command for Hibiki to wake up. Once she got it together, it worked and Hibiki was now awake, having been in the Puppet State for 3 days.
//And so it begins!

so i’d really like to finish my guardian takedown lore analysis, but honestly the game isn’t really fun to play at the moment anymore (even with the health debuffs they added) so I think im going to be taking a break for now because I’m just not having fun anymore.
this game has a lotta mechanical problems i think need to be addressed so im gonna summarize it as bullet points below. I’ll play the new dlc when it drops, but idk if i’ll be on more than that (grinding, end-game stuff) until they make some serious changes. I’ve been playing (near) daily since launch, followed the patch/hotfix notes every single week, and my patience has finally, FINALLY run dry, especially with that really disappointing Phase 1 Patch and then the hotfix this week not adding anything else. What is the balancing team doing??? 😩
tl;dr: FIX THE VAULT HUNTERS!!!!
anyway. That’s all I needed to get outta my system. I might log on to this blog every now and again to post some random shit that pops into my head (probably with regards to my AU), but I’m not going to be actively playing and posting for the time being. Goodbye (for now), and here’s hoping the new DLC is good!!
guardian takedown only problems:
there’s a lot of waiting around, and sometimes it’s not explicitly stated that you’re waiting for something, so you’ll be lost on what to do next (not sure if that’s a dialogue glitch or not)
the crystal charge insta-death is bull. just. what the hell. at least make it so you just have to start over. killing ur players for failing a “puzzle” that they then have to fight all the way back to is so infuriating.
dying because you fell off a platforming puzzle is also bull.
i remember playing the first DMC on my playstation in middle school and having a conniption over the part in the observatory(? it’s been a hot minute since I played DMC 1) with the disappearing/invisible platforms. I h a t e jumping puzzles. why are they in a section of the game where death is semi-permanent and a detriment to your teammates. i tried the takedown 2x with friends and both times one friend didn’t make the first big jump to the temple and had to wait for our inevitable deaths. that’s so unfair to them.
there’s absolutely no reason for a boss to have 12 fuckin immunity phases. 4 per health bar with 3 health bars? Who the fuck designed this? *pumps shotgun* i just wanna talk.
i appreciate a tasteful immunity phase every now and again (the ones in the Valkyrie fight are actually p reasonable), but christ. that is overkill. I don’t mind the main boss fight, since u can end those early through certain actions, but jesus. the mid-boss fight is annoying as hell. you spend more time running from the immunity phases and finding the damn boss than u do actually shooting it.
drop rates are crap, which I guess should be expected given what happened with the Maliwan Takedown and the handful of months it took for them to fix that, but also you think they’d have learned.
in the maliwan takedown there’s a sense of progression thru the facility after you kill each area’s batch of enemies, but in this one it’s... dampened by the crystal charging sequences. you kill all the enemies in an area, press a button, and now you have to kill 3x that number of enemies in the same area, expect you’re just standing there motionless. It’s not fun.
the crystal charging stuff is just not fun in general. standing in a square is not entertaining. it’s worse that it was clearly designed for 3+ players when a majority of people play/grind solo
i gotta admit the boss fights just aren’t as fun as the Maliwan Takedown fights overall. I felt like a real badass fighting Wotan for the first time, but the main boss for this Takedown is kind of a bitch. Wotan’s fight is chaos, there’s so much shit happening at once and you don’t really have time to process everything and I love it. This one is p meh...
This would be fine and I’d 100% not care that much if there weren’t all these OTHER problems
General Issues with the Game
There’s no endgame stuff to play outside of the takedowns.
I assume they’re working on the first raid given some stuff I found in the Guardian Takedown files, but I really wish they’d keep the seasonal events/areas. They give us the option to disable/enable them while they’re ‘active’, just give us the ability to do it whenever we want.
when i hop on i either run through Athenas (my favorite map), or farm a boss or two. I have all the loot i really need from the maliwan takedown/elsewhere, and the guardian takedown just... isn’t fun atm, so i have nothing to do.
I’ve reset my playthru multiple times to play the main story at m10, but u can only play it (and the dlc) so many times
Mayhem levels and modifiers are a hot m e s s
a majority of the modifiers just aren’t fun to play with
they incorporated like 2-3 fun modifiers (from the community), then added a bunch that straight-up aren’t. I’m fine with the game being more difficult, but at least give us modifiers that make it more entertaining to play at a higher level instead of more annoying. I like the ones that have trade-offs or add new ‘enemies’, but I hate the ones that just straight up reduce your damage output.
a majority of the weapons with the mayhem 10 anointment (scaling) do not work on mayhem 10 (we’ll go more in-depth with this later)
Player Characters (Vault Hunters!!!) are also a hot mess and a lot of problems plaguing them haven’t been fixed SINCE LAUNCH
theyre literally the basis of the game and its balance. why havent you guys fixed them yet. stop adding new content until they’re fixed. no new skill trees until the base 3 trees work ON EVERY CHARACTER.
seriously. Why is amara p much limited to using Phasegrasp. Why does Iron Bear not matter to Moze except to proc anointments. MAKE ALL ACTION SKILLS EQUAL AND HAVE HEFT.
i wrote an essay here about it bc i feel that strongly about this
SERIOUSLY FIXING UR VAULT HUNTERS WILL MAKE BALANCING SO MUCH EASIER PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU THEY ARE THE BASE OF UR BALANCING WOES
ZANE IS STILL UNUSABLE WITHOUT THE SEEIN’ DEAD CLASS MOD!!!!!!!!!!!
MOZE IS SCREWED BC HER DAMAGE IS TOO RELIANT ON ASE ANOINTMENTS!!
AMARA DOESN’T HAVE A FUCKING MELEE BUILD AS THE ADVERTISED MELEE CHARACTER???
FL4K’S HEADCOUNT SKILL IS S T I L L BROKEN EVER SINCE THE RELEASE OF THE MALIWAN TAKEDOWN
ARE YOU GUYS LISTENING TO THE COMMUNITY *PLEASEEEEEEE*
BUFF AND FIX THE GODDAMN VAULT HUNTERS
Anointments were a mistake. Damage end-game is wayyyy too reliant on them
anoints should have a maximum of, like, a 20% damage bonus. the damage necessary to kill enemies *should be coming from the VHs themselves*. i don’t care if you have to revamp every single Vault Hunter’s skill trees and buff them all by 9000%. THEY DESERVE IT AT THIS POINT
at the moment in m10 there really isn’t much build diversity *even between Vault Hunters*. We’re all using the same 5 guns (OPQ System. Kaoson. idk. fuckin brainstormer? is that still a thing? jesus fuck) with the same 3 anointments (100% on ASE, cryo while SNTL, and 300% while 90%).
you want to diversify builds like you said during the gameplay reveal???? you want our choice in Vault Hunter to actually fuckin matter???? FIX THEM!!!! THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO DEAL DAMAGE WITHOUT STUPID POWERFUL LEGENDARIES AND ANOINTMENTS!!!
Anoints also shouldn’t be common. At all. They should be, like, Pearl rarity. To let that happen, their damage needs to be tuned way the fuck down (again, 20ish % bonus MAX) and ALL ANOINTS NEED TO BE USEFUL IN SOME WAY
NOBODY IS GOING TO USE THE AIRBORNE OR SLIDING ANOINTMENTS JUST REMOVE THEM ALREADY AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
obviously these changes can’t happen because they fucked up and buckled down with everything being anointed in m10, but still
imagine a world where the VHs actually did damage on their own without anointments and the damage buff from them was just an incentive to grind for the 100% perfect weapon and NOT A REQUIREMENT TO DEAL DAMAGE
>:(
A majority of gear is borderline worthless at M10
I’m fine with the difficulty of M10, i should let it be known. The enemy health isn’t really the problem IF ALL GUNS ACTED THE SAME AS THE OPQ SYSTEM
ffs.
you know, if you fixed ur vault hunters so they all did damage with just purple weapons (abt the same damage as legendaries w/o special effects) and removed the anointment requirement from late-game play, balancing your guns would be sooo much easier. you know. just saying.
right now only 10% (im being generous) of guns in the game are viable. 90% are worthless. We need AT LEAST 60-70% viable at M10. WHERE IS MY BUILD DIVERSITY. WHY ARE ALL LEGENDARIES NOW JUST “HEY THIS GUN IS STRONGER THAN THE LAST 4 WE RELEASED. HAVE FUN”
how to fix this problem? do as above: BUFF YOUR PLAYER CHARACTERS. MAKE ANOINTMENTS LESS STRONG.
then, at least the 10% already strong weapons would be stupid strong and OP as fuck, BUT AT LEAST WE COULD HAVE BUILD VARIETY!!! I don’t care if other people are dummy strong one-shotting everything in sight. I don’t! so long as they don’t play with me, I couldn’t care less!!! I want to be able to play with the unique, interesting legendaries. instead of the OPQ System. which, by the way, I dislike compared to the normal Q-System. let me use the frozen heart shield and the infiltrator mod. I don’t wanna be chained to the Seein’ Dead anymore :(
honestly at this point im starting to think removing slag was a mistake bc then at least we could use guns that aren’t solely damage-based guns. you know how fucked up you’ve got me that im thinking maybe slag wouldn’t be so bad this time around??? YOU GOT ME FUCKED UP B A D.
FIX THE GAME
IM TAKING A BREAK
MAYBE I’LL BE LESS UPSET WHEN I COME BACK FOR THE DLC BUT HOT. DIGGITY. SHIT.

Transformers: War for Cybertron (Siege)
It takes guts to make something like this, a hard reset into Transformers, going deep into the lore and doing what the original fans would want, I'm not sure if they asked for it, but I can tell that this was made for them. It really is the toys come to life, all the designs are in their original state, no modernism, no hybrids, no new designs or characters. Maybe you're a fan of that new stuff, I know I was but I have to respect exactly how this series came to be and how loyal it is to the originals while also being a little bit of a darker take while still being child friendly. Ladies and Gentlemen, this...is Gen 1.
Tumblr media
I heard that it's the start, that things are just now kicking off such as Megatron just building up to his bad self. They're taking their time with this but I know that this is a "trilogy" of seasons and there will be payoff, making those mainstays feel earned, that it's doing all this for a reason, a definitive experience if you will, in order to reignite and re-interest fans of Transformers. You'll understand what I mean if you try it. That first episode tells you everything you need to know, just how dark it is, what it's going to cover, and who it's being targeted at.
When I heard that this was the vision, I knew I wanted to check it out. Then learning that it was being handled by Rooster Teeth as a Netflix series, I knew it was going to be something good especially after seeing a lot of people coming out of the woodwork to review it when plenty of other series have come out over the years and not a peep.
Now what KIND of fan am I? Am I even a fan? I wouldn't consider myself under that title, considering how much people adored this series before a lot of it got screwed with and bland. I hear people talking about their first entry into the series (surprisingly enough a bunch have said Beast Wars) but I actually don't remember where I started, I remember the toys, I remember some of the cartoons, but not where I started. I was there watching the first Bay film in theaters as a kid, I enjoyed it, I still do. I can't say I enjoyed any of the other movies though. Transformers Animated came out and I'm saving my opinion on that for a later review but I'll sweeten it up and say I loved it. I played one of the online games with my friends before it got shut down as well as the Revenge of the Fallen video game and while those weren't the best games, I still had fun.
Tumblr media
I saw Dark of the Moon in theaters because I was still hyped and I was underwhelmed, confused and bored with it. I stopped going to theaters and saw Age of Extinction on dvd, I was excited (transforming robot dinosaurs for crying out loud!) but after that I decided that I liked the movies for the effects but everything else was pretty dumb. I didn't even watch the Last Knight (Nazis and the Round-table? Seriously? That's what you came up with?) I heard it got even worse beyond that too. Bumblebee came out, this time it was a different director, a new vision, but a bit of mix of styles. I was very much down for the idea and when I saw the opening on Cybertron, I was in awe, heck I'm still in awe when I watch the clip on Youtube but I can't help but feel that the rest of the movie was cheesy and a little bit unnecessary, I suppose if it 'was' the first film, then it definitely works, it is one of the better films, just not 'great' per say. (Hailee Steinfeld is great though, just saying) So now here we are, I left Transformers in the dust, I didn't really care for its cultural influence anymore (toys are cool though). I actually have an Optimus Prime shirt that came in a Loot Crate from years ago, it didn't react well with the medicine I was using on my back so it became discolored so I put it away. I was worn out on Transformers.
Tumblr media
(It’s this one but mine looks a bit purplish with splotches now)
I had a dream one night about Transformers the movie so I checked it out and it's as cheesy 80's as you can get...but at the same time, this series came out, so I gave that a shot. This was my last huzzah, my last reflection on Transformers, and I think this series knew that was for a good amount of fans. So, once again, I got hyped. I brought that shirt back out for this series. I watched the first episode and I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't impressed, yeah it was slow but I respected it and decided to try something else. A little while went by and I kept hearing about it which caused me to think about it more and more, so I gave it another shot, not to binge but maybe one episode a night, just to see what happens.
So, I gotta mention the visuals. I wanna lick 'em. Look at that shine and scuff on Megatron. Then the way Wheeljack's ears light up when he talks, the models look so gorgeous, as I said, toys come to life (and no not Skylanders). What I am sad about though, is the cinematography. It could be a bit better towards the start but it does get better as it goes on, it does get more interesting too and I think that's going to be the whole series, which is pretty noble. I'd say it can only get better from here, giving us a preview of its potential. Seeing these characters like this is crazy for me because I don't know a lot of these characters so I have to hold on to who I already know and when I do see somebody, it's cool, like "Hey, I know you. Haven't seen you in a while." in a completely different design than what I'm used to, but it's the original, it's kind of refreshing. The two things I will complain about is Sideswipe, he was one of my favorites, and while I didn't see all the versions of him (not even gen 1) I don't like this version of his character. The other thing is that I would've liked more of a fight between Starscream and Jetfire. I think it actually would’ve been a really good cliffhanger if Megatron got the Allspark then fled through the portal himself, destroying Cybertron after everything the series built up to...but that’s just me.
I'm up for the next two seasons and I'm happy to see a fanbase along with it. I recommend it, it’s only 6 episodes so try it out!

Problems with the different Fallout games
Fallout 1: Forcing the timer on you at the start of the game. It isn’t too much of a complaint, but it forces you to do things a certain way at game start for a bit unless you want an auto game over
Fallout 2: I have no problems besides maybe that Frank is arbitrarily too powerful. 10 in all S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats is a bit off-putting.
Fallout 3: *deep breath* The plot holes (how can people be surviving in the Capital Wasteland if there is no clean water that animals can survive on? How do animals survive?) the morality system being beaten and bruised, the gunplay, the lack of an ending after broken steel came out, the lack of “ending” options (who’s gonna walk into the room and will you use the FEV? that’s all), the Brotherhood of Steel trying to shoulder supplying clean water to the entire wasteland, asking for nothing in return, and being surprised later that “uh hey, this isn’t really working.” Harold should’ve been more talkative too. I love the vaults tho, good shit. Super Duper Marts shouldn’t still have shit after 200 years of scavenging. Transitioning to 3d could’ve gone worse.
Fallout New Vegas: Alright, I’ll be honest, this is my favorite, but there is a problem. The Courier. Specifically their backstory. The character initially seems like a blank slate for you to project on to, but your character does have a backstory as told in Lonesome Road. While you can spend the whole DLC telling the creep that he’s got the wrong guy, he doesn’t sound like he does. Creating a background that would’ve affected starting gear or even reputations would’ve been nice, but I’m sure that Obsidian would have done something of the sort if they didn’t have those nasty time constraints they were given.
Fallout 4: A lot. I like the Children of Atom evolving. I like the way the Brotherhood has somewhat gone back to their old ways but still retaining changes from 3. I love the gunplay. I like the changes made to power armor (BESIDES FOR THE HEALTH OF IT, JFC, THIS COULDN’T SURVIVE BEING USED TO TAKE A PLAYGROUND LET ALONE ANCHORAGE). I like how some of the crafting works, and I like the changes in the functionality of Jet (not the lore fucking part). I like how there’s no good ending to far harbor, something must be lost. That’s uh... that’s it. The game was fun to play, but that’s... that’s all I like of it really, the rest I have issues with in some ways
supermutants are supposed to just be sterile, not junkless. Jet was made around the time of Fallout 2. I can accept T-60 having been developed just before the war but after Anchorage, but X-01 is right out. Fuck X-01 man. That shit was made by the Enclave, it’s clearly meant to be the Advanced Power Armor, a loading screen hints at it too. They made that shit after the war. Deathclaws should not be fought at the start of the game to try to hype them and power armor up. Also, everyone in the Commonwealth seems to have undergone power armor training. Hardly any of the settlements have any character because they’re designed to be near-blank canvases for you to use the settlement building system on. Where do all the infinite raiders come from? How are there infinite supermutants? Like seriously, how many people were kidnapped for infinite supermutants? Where did all these people live before? Not the settlements, they’re a few piles of twigs with mattresses on the floor. Not the buildings, they’re barren. Not outside the commonwealth, because the institute can’t reach that far. Are the raiders synths? Actually I think that makes the most sense. Companion affinity sucks. I can sit in a super duper mart with piper for a month and get her to max affinity by picking a lock, using a computer to reset the lock, and picking it again a couple hours waited later. After sitting in this mall for a month, she will tell me that she’s really glad I’m making a difference out here. 10/10 companion interaction guys. And my biggest problem of all THIS WASTELAND IS BARELY A WASTELAND. Like FUCK. You would think looking around that the bombs dropped a week ago, not 210 years ago. That car over there still has its finish ffs! flags outside haven’t been bleached by the sun, and trinity tower is still standing without any maintenance. The statement I made before about super duper marts is WORSE now. “but it’s only been 10 more years!” Yeah, 10 years after Moira wrote a book saying “there’s shit in the malls still guys” which you can find in the commonwealth, I mean fuck.

2017 End-of-the-Year Q&A Extravaganza Blog! #5
It’s time for our last Q&A blog of the year. It’s been a fun time answering all these questions--you guys had some seriously good ones!--but now it is time for us to chill out and celebrate 2018. Hopefully we can give you guys good reasons to celebrate 2018, too!
For our final Q&A blog, we have answers from:
Ken Berry, Executive Vice President / Team Leader John Wheeler, Assistant Localization Manager Ryan Graff, Localization Lead Liz Rita, QA Tester Nick Colucci, Localization Editor Brittany Avery, Localization Producer Thomas Lipschultz, Localization Producer
Tumblr media
Question: Does working on a game affect your enjoyment of it in any way? Do you anticipate playing the full package after it is done or do you play through it beforehand anyway? Have you ever been spoiled on a game through work and if yes how severe was it? - @MizuUnNamed
Brittany: It definitely does. It's like the difference between babysitting a kid over the summer vs. giving birth to that kid and raising them till they leave the house. Even the most frustrating things about a game will somehow become something you love in a weird way, because it’s your kid and it's your responsibility to raise it right. When you're localizing a game, you're choosing every single word, and every single decision you make for that game will shape the experience for the thousands of people who play it. Characters I'd normally hate as a player become characters I love because figuring out their dialogue is a joy, and stuff I never thought about in localization are now very particular to me because I want my kid to go out into the world looking its best.
I will always play the games I work on. Sometimes I play them in Japanese beforehand, but there are days where I edit a file while playing line-by-line just so I can look at a character's expression and match the line written to the face. Then I replay it a few time as the English builds come in, tweaking it bit by bit, because it feels different to see the English on a sheet compared to seeing it in-game. It takes a ton of time, but I'd rather have a final product I can be proud of than to give up because something requires extra work.
Liz: When I started working here the first thing I tested was Corpse Party PC. I played it for like 200 hours and that game is much shorter than that haha. I loved every second of it, and recently got to test it again for the Linux + SteamOS release. Oh boy, that was a treat <3 I also got to work on Cold Steel II and at the time I didn't have the consoles the first released for, so I just watched playthroughs online... bless Cold Steel PC! I don't think I've ever been spoiled on a game through work before.... except maybe for Book of Shadows? But I don't even remember that spoiler so does it really count?
Nick: This is going to vary widely from person to person. For me...admittedly yes, working on a game does impact the enjoyment I’m able to derive from that game as a finished product. I understand, going in, that simply by virtue of working on a game, I will know its plot from beginning to end, see all the character development (including optional stuff that you might not even be able to view in a single playthrough), and in general become a subject matter expert on its world and lore. I’ll have knowledge of all the optional events and the items it’s possible to get – and sometimes, even a few that exist but were never implemented.
Tumblr media
Working on a game is usually a months-long endeavor, during which we often end up playing the game in various stages of beta (or even alpha) readiness. We experience bugs we hope you never will; all the times text isn’t displaying correctly, voice or music isn’t playing right, or the battle system is falling over foaming at the mouth. By the time a game is ready to be sold, we’ve spent more time with it than would probably be considered healthy from a consumer perspective.
Outside of post-launch support/tweaking I’ve done for games like Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection, I’ve never picked up a game I’ve worked on here after it launched. They’re good games, and I’ve been proud of each project I’ve worked on so far – it’s just that I’m someone with a low tolerance for repetition. You know – the sort who would get sick of even my favorite movies if I watched them every day for a week straight. As cool a game as Trails of Cold Steel might be, I’m in no hurry to sink 80 hours into an RPG that I focused all my attention on for the better part of an entire year.
While it IS perhaps a bit regrettable that I “ruin” my ability to enjoy a game in a normal-player context by working on them, I feel it’s a small price to pay if I can help deliver something that players will really enjoy their time with.
Question: When you brought over Rune Factory 4 to Europe, what difficulties did you encounter? How was the process? - @Marower
Brittany: Hey! This is perfect for me! We really wanted to bring RF4 to Europe, but with the developer now shut down, it wasn't possible. We spent ages looking for a programming team who would be willing to help us that also had Marvelous Japan’s blessing, and then it became my little pet project. I had zero experience with the process, so it was a lot of learning and guidance from my boss, Ken. We were able to update the text a bit to fix typos, but because we would never be as familiar with it as the original team, we wanted to touch the game's code as little as possible since we didn't want to risk breaking the game.
Tumblr media
I tried to reproduce this one rare bug that causes the game to crash at the end of arc 2 (this is present in the Japanese, too, so it wasn't introduced in English), but it was impossible. I started the EU version from scratch and went up to that point. There were rumors that soft resetting the game caused the issue since it really wasn't programmed to handle soft resets too much, so I did that as often as I could. Nothing. Oh, man... I wish I could've found the pattern that caused such a weird crash. It's rare, but no one wants a crash in their game.
NA only has one rating, but Europe requires several different ratings, so that's an interesting process. The store pages all require various languages, too, depending on the region. I learned that because you could palette-swap character models to simulate gay marriage that the game had to be 18+ in Russia. 18+! For a Rune Factory game! All of the processes take a bit longer, but it was mostly a lot of communication, paperwork, confirmations and such. All worth it to finally get that game out there!
Question: What process leads to additional content in localized releases? Things like additional voices for Trails of Cold Steel on PC. How do you decide which titles get "a little bit extra"? - @Baust528
Brittany:
Me (messaging programmer on Skype: hey are you up Sara (programmer): Yeah. What's up? Me: lmao wouldn't it be awesome if we could put x in the game Sara (ten minutes later): It's in the game.
That happens a lot. As a more serious answer, since we try to localize games we're personally passionate about, it's easy for us to see what we'd want as a fan, too. So we'll sit around and go, "Wouldn't this feature be nice?", and we'll see if it's doable. If it is, we'll do it.
The extra voice acting in Cold Steel PC came about because we wanted to do it for PS3/Vita, but it wasn't possible. I asked if we could put the games on PC one day, the boss worked out the numbers, and we realized that avenue was perfectly possible. We thought adding new voices would be great, because the English cast was very well received in English. Turbo Mode and ultra widescreen were both Durante, though. Those were awesome.
Generally, if our programmers have an idea they'd like to add to the game, we allow it. They're programmers! They know if it's possible, and if it makes the game better, who are we to say no? That's how the Sky games have gotten so many improvements over the years, too. We're incredibly fortunate to have Sara as a programmer, because she takes each project very personally and still finds ways to improve them years after launch.
Tumblr media
Tom: There are a lot of factors that go into things like this, but one that's come up a couple times now has definitely been our inability to license the Japanese voices. We figured, if we can't offer dual voice to players, why not use whatever budget we may have set aside for that to give them something a little extra? It may not be exactly what they want, but it's at least something we can offer them to show that we truly did put our best foot forward with this release
Nick: As weird as it may sound, it starts with just someone asking, “Hey, could we do this?” Sometimes, what we’ll want to do is evident due to what’s perceived as a shortcoming in a game. Trails of Cold Steel had a lot of voice acting, but weirdly left protagonist Rean silent in a number of scenes where all the other characters were voiced. That was the initial impetus for us wanting to get back into the studio for the PC release and record all the voicework we couldn’t for the PS3 release (in which we could only supply voices for lines that were voiced in the Japanese version).
Similarly, when I was planning out the recording for Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection, I thought, “We’re having people in to record these battle voices and we’re gonna pay them a minimum session fee anyway, so...why not add some story scenes onto that?” So in the end, we managed to include a solid amount of voice acting in there for a game that, in its original version, had very little.
Question: Have you ever considered localizing otome games? It would be nice if you can bring us some handsome boys. (*^^*) - @NymphNayade
Brittany: Hmm.
Question: Can you comment on the difficulty in trying to get Japanese developers to support same-sex couples/marriage in games like Story of Season or Rune Factory? - @atelier_michi
Brittany: XSEED's always been very openly supportive of adding that. I don't know what difficulties there would be in Japan, but I try to think of how much progress we've made to be able to openly ask for same-sex couples/marriage in games. It wasn't long ago that the idea was ludicrous. I remember when Ellen DeGeneres came out in the '90s and it affected me very strongly, especially since my parents would actively tell me, “Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.” So even if it's not in the current SoS games, I'll ask for the feature every time I visit Japan, because I think being open about it is an important factor to making progress on that front. Nothing will happen if you don’t fight for it.
I'd really like a whole variety of relationships in the SoS. Gays, lesbians, bisexuals, pansexuals, or even a unique relationship outside of sexuality like dating a single parent or supporting your partner as they transition. It's that sort of variety that makes life interesting and great, and I think introducing these concepts in a series as darling as SoS normalizes them and helps children to perceive them as innocently as heterosexual relationships and concepts. It's very educational. Normalizing it more would teach people to ask more questions, too, instead of rejecting any type of orientation or relationship that seems foreign to them.
I remember for the first SoS game we published, Hashimoto-san said he had animals die in the game because he wanted children to be introduced to the natural process of life and death. It wasn't meant to be a bad thing, but something we should be comfortable with because that's part of what it means to be alive. Something to that, lol. Anyway, I'd like for just as much heart to be taken to represent more kinds of people in life, too.
Question: A rumor is going around that you guys are avoiding publishing fanservicey games outside of Senran Kagura. This came in wake of you guys seemingly passing on Valkyrie Drive. Is there any validity to this rumor, and if so, why? - @WaywardChili11
Brittany: did people forget we did a game with literal strawberries and a banana as a costume
Tumblr media
That's a weird rumor. It’s also dumb. We've done fanservice games in the past, and we'll decide on whether or not to do them on a game-by-game basis. We're not necessarily passing on them because of fanservice, but I also don't think fanservice is core to the XSEED brand, so it shouldn't be a given for us to do fanservice titles just because we’ve done them in the past. Many of us enjoyed Onechanbara and we have some SENRAN KAGURA fans in the office, so we published those because we originally liked them as games that happened to contain fanservice.
We’re also not big on censoring games, so I’d rather pass on a game than work on it after it’s been censored. If I were to localize a title and actually choose to censor it, I’d piss of people who don’t like the fanservice content, I’d piss off the people who want that content, and then I’d be pissed off because if I felt something was so horrible that it needed to be censored, then I probably didn’t want to work on the game.
That doesn’t mean every fanservice game is off the table for me, but I would need to evaluate it to see if the game is for me, as I would any other genre. Like, Lord of Magna is overall a super-cute game, but it also has an out-of-nowhere hot springs scene. I felt that scene detracted from the game because the rest of the game was adorable and innocent. That said, I didn’t remove the scene, and I still loved working the game. It’s a game with fanservice I would still happily play again.
Meanwhile, SENRAN KAGURA sells on fanservice, but the gameplay is pretty good. I admit that I prefer the older titles for DS/3DS which were more ridiculous titillation with a good story than the more overt modern titles, but again, that just means the series is no longer for me, and that’s fine. We still have SK fans in the office, and they enjoy working on the series.
Another factor is gaming trends and our overall rep as a company. Fanservice games weren’t always as hot as they are now, and XSEED started off with a variety of genres, with our niche eventually falling to RPGs and such. Every trend has a rise and fall, and if we pick up every fanservice game regardless of quality just because it’s hot now, we’re alienating the audiences that love us for action, RPGs, and so on. We may even alienate retailers or future marketing opportunities for the games we license outside of that genre. We’ll have shot ourselves in the foot if the fanservice trend falls when we made it our bread and butter. I like having a job.
Tom: We certainly don't have any problems with fanservice, as I think we've proven quite thoroughly at this point. But we also don't ever back a game simply BECAUSE of its fanservice. When we release a game, we do so because (1) we like it, and/or (2) we see some really good potential in it. If it happens to have fanservice, great! If not, also great.
On the flipside, we also turn down games for a variety of reasons. Maybe we hated the story. Maybe we hated the gameplay. Maybe we felt it took its themes a bit too far, or that it had a lot of wasted potential that it never quite lived up to. Maybe we put in an offer on it but were outbid, or the developer appended unusual terms to the license that we weren't willing or able to accept. Maybe the developer simply didn't want to work with us for some reason, or we didn't want to work with them. Maybe we didn't have time to work on that title, or maybe we simply felt someone else would be able to do a better job with it. Tl;dr version, there are a LOT of factors that go into licensing decisions!
Our reasons for turning down a game aren't really something we can ever outright tell you guys, due to the NDAs we all signed when we got hired. But suffice it to say, it's never simply because of fanservice. Fanservice may potentially contribute to a larger tapestry of reasons for passing on a title in extreme cases (though they'd have to be pretty extreme!), but rest assured, we'll never say no to a game simply because it shows a lot of skin. Good games are more than skin deep, after all!
Nick: Here’s the Nick take: Most of us here don’t mind fanservice. It’s fun, it’s saucy, and folks can have a good time with it. If you look at our lineup, you can see we don’t shy away from games that have fanservice (Oneechanbara!), and games that push the boundaries, as Senran Kagura sometimes does, certainly aren’t out of the realm of consideration. A boob, a bulge; it’s all fair game here.
Tumblr media
But here’s the thing. The games a company releases become part of their oeuvre. We have a reputation for quirky Japanese games because we’ve released enough of them that it’s a noticeable trend. The same would happen if we opened our gates to every fanservice-laden game that came knocking. Speaking personally, I don’t want us to have a reputation as a publisher whose stock in trade is mainly cheesecakey fanservice or smutty games. That kind of pigeonholing doesn’t help us as a company, and at worst, might even preclude some future licensing opportunities.
I think a lot of people get the impression that we turn down fanservice-laden games for some sort of censorious or moral reason, but that’s not especially true. There ARE cases where we might think, “If we licensed this, the ESRB wouldn’t let it through without forcing us to censor enough that the primary audience we were licensing it for in the first place would be upset,” and there are times when a game might simply be in bad taste and we decide we don’t like how it handles sexuality.
Sometimes, iffy material gets through in spite of all that. The SENRAN KAGURA series has done well for us, so we continue to publish those games even though a number of us in the office have concerns about how each new game seems to push the boundaries further and further in terms of what’s allowable (either by the ESRB or by common decency). We keep a close watch on that, and we’ve communicated our feelings to Takaki-san and his team. We strongly dislike having to alter content in this way, so if a game is so stridently sexual that we think we’d probably be forced to do so by the ESRB (as was a going concern with Valkyrie Drive, iirc), that factors into our decision-making process.
More often, the mundane truth is that we’ll turn down a game of this type because our evaluation play-tests show it to not be very fun to play. It’s not uncommon for games in this vein to just focus on piquing prurient interests or trading in tawdry titillation while the actual game underneath feels janky to play, or has no depth once you get past ogling your favorite waifu. That’s something that can’t be conveyed through a screenshot or even game video, which leaves hopeful players confusedly thinking we passed on a game for reasons more related to its content.
There’s a solid balance to be struck between acknowledging and publishing content for a mature audience and turning down projects that don’t jive with us, and I want you guys to know that we DO put a lot of thought into keeping this balance healthy.
Ken: When we first published SENRAN KAGURA Burst in late 2013, it was a much stricter retail environment so we had to approach the title with caution. We needed to see if there was a market for the series in the West, and even if there was the absolute worst thing that could happen would be to start manufacturing only to hear that retailers suddenly don't want them or want to return their units because of a complaint they got. Due to the success of the digital-only release of SENRAN KAGURA Burst we were able to release the next few games in the series physically at retail (so the "no physical no buy" people really need to thank their digital-buying colleagues), but that doesn't mean that we get a free pass to release anything in the future. As each new iteration seems to push the envelope further and further, we need to be careful exactly how far we push - at some point if we push too far and the whole levee breaks, it could have repercussions for games that have already previously been released.
Question: Who is best girl and boy? - @MizuUnNamed
Brittany: Can I get Crow Armbrust and Crow Armbrust for $500?
Tom: Narcia and Pietro, of course. But only for each other.
Liz: Rottytops and Ludus! What did we do to deserve them?
That’s all, folks! It’s been a wild ride, but hopefully we answered your questions well enough.

Sans in Opentale is a little complicated so I decided to make a post detailing everything about him and his er...’clones’ (their not really clones at all.)
Both Sans and Papayrus have a ‘husk’ or an ‘outline’ of their LIFE- the rest was split into different vessels and put into different AUs, differentiating on human soul traits.  You can see more about Opentale Lore and LIFE here Originally it was just Sans who split himself up- the guy could barely hold it together as he is, a bunch of new souls and voices inside his head would break him.  So he split himself up and sent his other selves to different AUs.  He can still summon and merge with them all to use all his LIFE powers, it just puts a HEAVY strain on him and the other sans aren’t too happy about it.
Each of the AU sans have their own personality and are like separate people in their own right- its hard to believe they all came from one original person. Each one has a slightly different personality than the original sans thanks to their determination- each are different depending on the traits that influence them. Heres a breakdown.
1. Orange, or Brave Sans - A little more brave than normal sans, he tends to actually bring his guts together and do things, usually thats getting into fights.  He has a scar from a previous fallen human. - He also regrets it a lot bc he spends a lot of energy. - Hes still hella depressed.  Hes just more frustrated and shows it in pure ANGER, rather than moping around like normal sans. - His scarf and hat are used for comfort.  Papayrus made the scarf for him.
2. Cyan, or Patience Sans - Patience is lazier than normal sans - He waits everything out and only is awake when he has to be, everything about him is a mess.  I don’t think his clothes have ever been washed. - He wouldn’t even fight you genocide run, he would just kill you in your sleep.
3. Integrity, or Blue Sans - Hes real honest, if he notices his humans doing a genocide route he’ll just spill the truth as soon as he notices - He’ll also probably fight the human to try and stop them, not killing them until judgement time - hes also cooler than normal sans somehow
4. Kindness, or Green Sans - More kinder than the normal sans.  Hes a bit of a healer, and despite being able to see timelines he tries his best to steer his human in the right direction - during the Genocide fight he spares you unlike the other sans, he still highly encourages you to reset.
5. Perseverance, or Purple Sans - Can see, feel and basically experiences all timelines at once - He always feels like he’s dying, the purple ‘blood’ is actually made from his magic...as he always feels LIKE hes hurt when hes not.  Its sort of a subconscious thing - Hes always a nervous wreck, but he always pulls through somehow - Hes always sweating and seems freaked out
6. Justice, or Yellow Sans - Aware of the genocide route, he somehow always has the determination to get better and switch up his battle routine - he WANTS justice for Papyrus and all the other monsters, he’s fueled with it - Aware of the genocide route, he looks to papyrus as his inspiration for being a ‘hero’ so he tries to take confidence lessons and whatnot from him - Thats also why he wears clothes similar to his bro, sadly hes still lazy and unmotivated, but hey at least hes trying. - In a pacifist ending he would learn to push his depression aside completely, although he still has it he can live with it more easily.
Some notes on Normal Opentale - His jacketfluff doesn’t always look like wings, it sort of ‘grows’ when he temporarily absorbs the other sans. - the ‘wings’ hide the little life motif he has on the back - Normal Opentale can’t use any coloured attacks unless he has that sans absorbed, the other sans can’t use coloured attacks but their own.  For example Patience sans can’t use karma, because it belongs to Preservance sans. - This was already mentioned but normal sans can’t handle all the others in his head.  Seriously.  His battle wouldn’t last nearly as long even if he has god powers.
Ok I think that wraps things up- If you wanna know about Opentale heres Lore, Character references (im gonna update sans in a bit), and a Q+A

Hi ! So, huh (first post ever on tumblr, YAY !), and I have a bunch of - completely useless - questions, like, 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 maybe… 14… it seems… ? Some other people seem to have already mentionned some of these questions. Others are mine (especially the dumb ones). So here are some :
Save Note:
I’m gonna be putting my responses in like this, and also putting all the questions and answers under the cut, here!
1) Tapes in the True Lab : it is quite clear that the first three tapes were just a game. But, what about the two others ? Why were they recorded ? Especially the fact that every recording is on a different tape.
Save Note:
It’s hard to say … Though I suppose it’s equally important to just realize that, the biggest reason these tapes and laid down like this is because Toby needed to show this to us.
Perhaps there was a morbid wish to reserve their child on film in the last moments they had together. Perhaps Chara wanted to record it for posterity. Or perhaps there’s no good explanation, and this was just the best possible way to display what Toby wanted to show us.
2) Flowey did absorb six souls. Wasn’t he traumatized enough about having absorbing Chara’s soul ? Something must have let him believe that, this time, he would have been in control, right ?
Save Note:
It’s hard to say and we may never really know the answer. Perhaps there is a difference between absorbing a SOUL you wish to dominate and absorbing a SOUL that you want to hang out with you.
On the other hand … Perhaps absorbing the SOULs was the only thing that Asriel could do. He wanted godlike power, to reassume his form and unmake the world. Whether he would be stable or not, or totally in control or not … Maybe that was just never the important part.
Perhaps his desire to become whole was more important to him than anything else.
3) If the 2)’s answer is what I – kind of – think, then, I’m pretty unsure about why the fallen child lost control. Could it be because Asriel didn’t force them to stop ? Perhaps did he use… a softer way…
Save Note
Impossible to say! Perhaps Asriel was still mostly in control of his body with a power to ‘seize control,’ and simply allowed Chara to move it as they wished, being best friends and all. Or perhaps it’s easier to send control of the body into confusion than ‘take control.’ Perhaps Asriel won in a battle of wills. Or perhaps Chara didn’t fight back that hard, and was instead disheartened because the Asriel who said he believed in him turned away.
Unless we hear more about it–and unless Chara tells us I don’t think we will–this is all we have.
4) Still related to 2), about Flowey and the six souls… What happened ?
Save Note
Let’s remember not to judge Flowey too harshly for thinking this would work. Because remember … It did work. It worked. For a while.
Their powers belonged to him, and they were subservient to his cruel and terrible will. It was only when Frisk ‘woke them up’ that they began to rebel, and even that took a while.
And remember: Omega Flowey is playing with you. He sees himself as being in a position of ABSOLUTE power. Because he HAS absolute power. If he wanted to kill Frisk, he could. He DOES. Hundreds and thousands of times. The SAVE file has been wrested from Frisks’ control, and now belongs to Omega Flowey! He may not be the god of this world, but he’s so close there’s no difference!
If Omega Flowey had thought obtaining Frisks’ SOUL was more important than toying, or maybe ‘playing’ with them–depending on whether you really believe Flowey’s end goal was to kill them–Flowey could have simply killed Frisk, taken their SOUL, become god and unmade the world. He could do that. He choose a roundabout way which ultimately allowed Frisk tos top him.
I kind of believe that Frisks’ SOUL wasn’t even that important to Flowey in the end. I think the LAST thing he wants to do is destroy a playmate who’s has, finally, been able to play with him across different timelines.
5) Alphys’ chronology about determination experiments and the previous royal scientist, Doctor W.D. Gaster. Someone (camilaart tumblr) already talked about this strange chronology with Shyren’s sister, and despite this, Alphys states that she was the one who extracted determination. Unless, finally, it wasn’t such a long time that the previous scientist disappeared, if you take resets in account (and in that case, he was pretty old, to have seen the first golden flower bloom in a garden, just before the queen left)… Does that mean the three guys are not affected by resets ? Or does that mean Gaster’s situation looks like what the Goner Kid described ?
Save Notes
I’ve written about this actually, I think, at length. If this is the same theory that I think you’re referencing, then I disagree with it at a base level.
tl;dr: The determination progression in the notes is actually entirely an alphys production. I’ve responded to camilaa’s Gaster/Alphys theories before. But to condense it down: we know that there was a long gap between Gaster’s tenure as royal scientist and Alphys’. And since Alphys earned her prestige by working on an unrelated project, she was not involved at all with the Lab or any experiments about it beforehand!
The entries we can read in the lab are ALL penned by Alphys’ hand. We know very little about Gaster and his experiments–I personally believe the results of their research may have converged on similar points, but that even if both somehow discovered DETERMINATION, they must have done so without realizing the other had done it.
Whatever Gaster got up to, I’d suggest that’s a thoroughly pre-alphys time, and that we’e never heard anything explicitly about it in-game except from the Gaster Followers.
6) Suzy, by herself. How is she related to Gaster and Sans ? She lives in New Home, and this was where Sans and Papyrus have lived before moving to Snowdin. But then ? I think you’ve already dealt with this subject (Frisk, Chara, Asriel, Papyrus, Sans, Undyne, Alphys, Toriel, Asgore, Blooky, Mettaton, everyone actually… still much mysteries ! Guess everyone has such a DEEP HISTORY !)
Save Note
Hang on. Let’s take some time to sketch this out. Where are sans and PAPYRUS from?
But no seriously let’s think about this. Do we know where they came from? We don’t, actually. The bunny shopkeeper says they just ‘showed up one day and asserted themselves.’ Could that mean they immigrated from the city? I mean, it’s entirely possible!
But let’s remember, that sans is really sore about not being able to go ‘back,’ worrying that even if you could, it wouldn’t be ‘worth it.’ And this place he wants to go back too, is it the surface? Nah, actually, it’s not. Because we hear him talk about how ‘I gave up on getting back long ago. And going to the surface doesn’t appeal either.’
And he can just walk back to the city, right? It’s overcrowded, but he can visit. He can see them again. So. What’s up? Where’s sans (and likely PAPYRUS) from? The city? Or … Is there something stranger that we don’t know about, yet?
As far as Suzy, I tried to condense everything we knew about her into a post once. I haven’t felt a need to amend it since. It’s not much, but it’s interesting.
7) undertale tumblr already talked about Shyren’s lower body… Why ? I mean, I’ve already seen it in the theory mentionned in 5), but still…
Save Notes
I know the literal answer, though I’m not sure what the significance of Shyren’s lower body is in the larger theme of Undertale lore and what it implies as so far as secrets, if in deed there are secrets to be gleaned from it.
See, Shyren’s lower body doesn’t dissolve when Shyren is killed. This suggests to us that the lower body isn’t part of Shyren! Because it’s not! That ‘lower body’ is actually Shyren’s agent, an entirely different monster who appears to have a lot of similarities to Aaron, at least in body shape. We can find ‘agent’ in the list of monsters in datamining, here.
Tumblr media
What does that imply? Heck if I know! But that’s what’s up with Shyren’s lower body. Perhaps it says something about the way that we sometimes perceive two characters as one character, when our perspective is a little messed up, or something about not forgetting the little details on monsters, or how even people who don’t talk can still be characters.
Or maybe it’s just a little detail that Toby thought would be fun to share with us.
8) How many dogs are there ??? Sorry, I mean : seriously, isn’t Chara a bit colorblind ? I mean, the cylinder in Undyne’s house appears blue, right…? And there was a patch colorblind-friendly, so…
Save Note
I’m confused by the question. The colorblind change was to make the blue attacks more distinct from the white attacks, so that colorblind people could see them more clearly. I don’t think there’s any other meaning than creating accessibility for more players.
9) Chara described how they came back at the very beginning, with a power (determination, probably). Asriel emits the hypothesis that his call has waken them up. What I want to know is that why Chara is able to see Flowey on a black screen, at the end of neutral/pacifist run ? Especially neutral ? Plus, we never hear their voice, even in their memories. Does that mean that everything we see is from their perspective ?
Save Note
We also don’t hear Frisk’s voice. And, one thing to remember is that there is a popular theory that most, if not all flavor text is actually just Chara talking to our Frisky business.
But that’s not your main question. What’s the significance of the black screen? Well, we actually see that kind of perspective all the time! PAPYRUS’ date, the powow near the end of pacifist, every single fight that we have … the black screen, most of the time, simply says ‘we are in a first person perspective right now.’
I don’t think there’s any more importance to that; that we are simply looking at Flowey in the way that we might look at him from a first person perspective.
10) About the save powers : there are 10 files in the datas. Ten ? But I thought there were eight children and Flowey ? Do you have an explanation ?
Save Note
Could you give me more context for this question?
11) If we take the fact that Chara may have had save powers in account, why Chara didn’t reset ? Perhaps they couldn’t ?
Save Note
You have my thoughts. I think they were prevented, or simply lost the determination to keep going.
12) And also, what happens with GAME OVER ? A soul that shatters ? I thought monsters were supposed to take it ? Or perhaps it doesn’t shatter, but it’s quite unclear for me actually.
Save Note
It’s hard to say whether the SOUL shattering is just the depiction of death that Toby chose to go with, or whether it’s literally what happens. If so it implies something interesting about the nature of Frisks’ SOUL, or perhaps LOADing. Perhaps Frisks’ SOUL is unusually weak, or doesn’t hold together well. PErhaps that’s what happens when someone loads! Or perhaps the SOUL shattering is just the most useful depiction we have for death, and we’re all thinking about this way too much.
Unless I hear otherwise, I’m going to assume it’s a stylistic choice that Toby made in the beginning, and didn’t feel like changing. I won’t be surprised if it turns out to mean something, but if it’s just how things turned out … I won’t be disappointed.
13) Where did Chara get that power of destroying the whole world in, like, 2 seconds ? I mean, knowing the definition of LV and EXP. I don’t know why, but perhaps have they much control since the very beginning. Also, wonder it it is Chara’s soul in the machine in True Lab(radory).
Save Note
We don’t know!
Which is weird, I know, but … We have no reason to believe that Chara has the power to destroy the world at the end of that. I don’t THINK we absorbed any monster SOULs, so I don’t think that we have become the kind of creature which can absorb the other six human SOULs … And wouldn’t that be depicted?
It’s weird, because it implies that there is something about the cosmic layout of the world which we just don’t know about. An angle and power that we have no context for … Was it LOVE that let them kill the world? How? Because we know how LOVE makes monsters more fragile, but we have no reason to believe that the world cares how much you want it dead.
Is there something special about Frisk? Something special about Chara? Something we just don’t see? It has to be one of those three things, but we can’t know more about it yet. We just don’t have the tools!
As for the machine, whether Chara’s SOUL is in there or not, it’s certainly no coincidence that it has that big smile and red heart on it. There’s something of Chara involved in that. I don’t know if it’s their SOUL, or their DT, or their power … But I believe this isn’t the first time they’ve been in the True Lab.
Call it a hunch.
14) Why is Chara’s speech so different from the flavor texts, in Japanese and in English ? Like, almost no contractions (more than Toriel though), or almost no agressivity ?
Save Note
It’s a very different kind of talk. I think that’s most of what’s happening. The speech is meant to sound threatening, disjointed, and disconnected from the rest of the experience.
You could argue that this simply means that Chara has never talked to us. But Chara has clearly talked to us through the narration, through ‘it’s me,’ and ‘my bed’ and ‘my drawing’ before. So I don’t think it’s potent enough to dismiss narrachara at all.
And finally… WOULD YOU SMOOCH A GHOST ?  %  =)  (have some ghost’s faces !) I’ve added this question because I’m a dirty liar ! (sorry)
Save Note
HECK YEAH!
Thanks for reading ! (or at least reading the last line…?). And sorry for this.

Darkness cut scene/fight
Is that you Aqua? I ask like I know any lore
Her new outfit is pretty cool
They run on water by putting the power of light/ darkness on the soles of their feet
That new keyblade is pretty
It was unnecessary to let her sink in the water again
Welp I guess I was wrong and he was sincere
I wonder who Demyx has a crush on
I love how Demyx just casually walks into the lab with a body over his shoulder, seriously all he needed was shades to complete the look
I have a feeling the vessel is actually going to be for Namine because he seemed more upset about her than Roxas
Aqua is showing up 20yrs late with a Starbucks and some friends
The unlocking of the area is cool
Vanitas sitting on top of the throne made me laugh
Why the he’ll didn’t Sora run around the dome to Ventus
/Always/ keeping you safe? Did you forget the time Sora turned into a heartless?
Also I Love Lea, he is such a mood
Yeah let’s share stories, Aqua’s will be depressing in the darkness & Ventus’ was dreaming the whole time and is likely to forget all his dreams soon
Oh No who is coming
That interaction with Saix was unexpected? Though I enjoyed it.
How are there 2 broken Riku BTW?
Time to himself is one way to put it I guess
Ghosts of Kingdom Hearts villains Past, Present and Yet to come are here to throw hands; they feel a bit out numbered though so they invited a few friends.
The frame rate absolutely dies with so many enemies
Where did everyone go?
I was expecting Terra to be more a doll than anything but I should have expected this
Also like how they don’t all try to attack at once after they see Terra basically teleport between them and bunt Ventus out into left field. “Yeah Sora’s got this”
What did Sora think hugging Kairi was going to do? Did he not just see Lea have a head on collision with a wall? I mean at least tuck and roll with her?!
And Kairi I had more faith in you what the hell was the point of all that keyblade training if all you’re gonna do is stand there? I mean I know it was pretty damn shocking but damn it girl at least defend yourself!
Sora and Kairi you are so damn lucky that Goofy came in with the clutch. (I honestly didn’t know his shield could defend against keyblades)
Holy shit Donald’s attack is awesome!
Not worth the cost of all his energy but awesome
How did Lea move, he was splattered fly on the wall?
How did Riku know he had snap Sora out of despair?
A bit disappointed that it’s Sora, Riku and Aqua for the big fight, I was hoping that Kairi would finally step up (Totally admit Aqua is cooler but it’s more about the Destiny Island Trio)
Welp guess I was wrong then, everyone is taking a ride on the heartless express
Okay so the light went to a previous reset point?
I recognize Chirithy’s voice actress
Hey a lucky emblem in his sadness
Why the hell is he on Mount Olympus?
Is everyone on a different world?
Who the hell is you?
Also Sora was literally going to let everything play out again where they got their asses handed to them and not say/do anything? (I’m assuming he knows because he went through all the worlds, Kairi might know too because she came out whole)
Someone went fishing and caught a keyblade
I like how delayed a reaction Xehanort has to the massive cannon pointed at him
Who the fuck is you? (I’m guessing from one of the previous games?)
Pretty neat with those names (I’m assuming they are are actual people’s screen names)
Is that fucking Maleificent?! Oh it’s Yen Sid
Flying V formation like the Mighty Ducks!
LPer I’m watching this from made a very good point. If someone/ all of them didn’t come technically he wouldn’t be able to summon anything (Admittedly they could just abduct them)
What happened to Marluxia and Larxene during Luxord’s Cut scene? Also why does he think the wild card will survive his death?
Is it just me or was Marluxia’s cutscene odd? His personality seemed off
That was sweet of Riku2.0 to give up the possibility of a vessel, but why not wait around let them study it so they can make another (they have one for Roxas that Demyx brought) and get one then?
Xigbar’s backstory is interesting, also dramatic fall
Terra was just shaking the chains he wasn’t smashing them against anything
Ooooo are you a heartless Terra!
All I could think of when Heartless!Terra tried and tore off the bandages was of Billy Butcherson from Hocus Pocus doing the same thing basically
Is that who I think it is? Is that Xion?
I love how it’s news to Riku that Kairi is in trouble (I mean he had no real reason to think she was but it is par course)
He just got another key that’s why he’s laughing
Where are the other combatants during these cut scenes?
Now they are out of breath? What about in the previous cutscene?
If she’s already dead what’s the point? How is this incentive? There is more incentive with a live hostage, everyone knows this
“Za Worldo!”
The world is ending, Riku and King Mickey are frozen in air and Goofy and Donald just walk up calmly like whatever
Oh look it’s the whole gang (-Kairi)
I thought Lea’s Keyblade was destroyed
Also just realized if Kairi was killed doesn’t that automatically kill Namine too (I thought Namine was in Kairi’s heart like Roxas & Ventus was in Sora’s)
Mmmmm Whatcha Saaay
Shadow Clone Jutsu
Well that escalated quickly
I guess the Final World wasn’t the final one?
Inception or Doctor Strange?
Go kick that old man while he’s down
Just have your backs to the main villain it’s cool
Liked the orchestral of Simple and Clean they snuck in there
Why is Kairi there but Sora not?
Btw was there any music or dialogue during the credits? The LPer had to mute it due to copyright
Well don’t you look majestic
Wait a minute you died, or did you just abandon your guns
I saw the black box but completely ignored it until they focused on it. I just didn’t register it
Big Hero 6 world?
Why is Riku here too?
Oh my god why the fuck are they in the video game?!
Watching a KH3 Lets Play
Things that have entertained me story wise about it
When Mickey and Riku come back from back from the darkness Sora was so excited to see King Mickey and not Riku his best friend since forever
Hercules level:
They talk just so relaxed as Thebes burns in the background
Did they not get Danny Devito to come back as a voice actor for Phil? I was disappointed when he had no lines
When the child screamed I honestly was expecting to see Pain or Panic being ‘saved’
None of the ingredients are destroyed in the the destruction of the city.
Lol Achilles Heel
Rapunzel level:
They don’t tell Rapunzel her ‘mom’ is looking for her (I mean ‘we’ know Gotzell is evil, but she is just a little bitchy to the Sora crew, I don’t understand why they automatically consider her evil)
Super odd mini game of haveing the birds following Sora to Rapunzel
When Flynn is dying you have at least 2 people in the window possibly with potions who know cure spells
Toy Story level:
The heartless were nice enough to shrink to toy size
Love the Lolita Rabbit doll
Also nice way to get Hamm out of the dialogue as you lost his voice actor
The building blocks became a Cactaur and it’s completion made FF victory music
How do they know about the change in Buzz modes if (because I’m assuming they’re referencing the 3 movie) they are still ‘Andy’s Toys’?
Will include more later

Hi, Ben!  Hope you had a good day, or at least a calm one!  I think your tree is adorable, and I love your tree topper!  It’s so pretty!  Also, my congrats if Mo leaves it alone.  Most of the kitty parents I know are full of horror stories about their cats climbing the tree/trying to eat the tree/trying to eat things off the tree/etc.  XD  One friend’s cat earned herself the nickname Monkey because the very first thing she did the night they brought her home was go right up the tree.  I’m pretty sure that was at least a decade ago, and the only person who ever calls her by her actual name at this point is probably my friend’s dad.  Another friend complains every year that she can’t use tinsel on her tree anymore because her cats will try to eat it.
And omg, that Disney/TW thing was terrible.  Most of them seemed to only be using the most shallow, surface level reading of the characters, as usual they seemed to forget that Disney made animated films before the early 90s, and also as usual, Noah and Melissa got left out, despite having been there the full run of the show.  I think I usually headcanon Peter more CN than anything else, but I can see the logic behind some NE being mixed in there, too.  Some of that could be because I tend to see his apparent desire for power as more of a trauma-based need for control than just purely for its own sake.  (It might have helped if they’d been a bit more consistent with his character…)
It’s probably because I was out of the fandom for a while, but most stuff I’ve seen that addresses it typically has the Hales being of British Isles descent.  I think that’s mainly because the name itself is English (I think?), and it helps to explain the abundance of Celtic mythology/imagery if it’s something they brought with them when settling the town.  I’m not particularly bothered either way, though, and always enjoy a chance to learn about other culture’s customs.  :D  And I love how everyone just agrees that Peter is the type to just casually speak like a dozen languages, just because he can.  XD  Also, I’m now picturing a springerle rolling pin that’s nothing but wolf images, a quite literally hand-carved hand-me-down (that I’m going to pretend was stored in the vault.)
And yeah, I figured the other kids would adapt pretty well, but I definitely foresee an issue with Jax.  I feel like it’s going to come down to one of his siblings having to step in, probably either Malia (because he actually likes her) being like “Hey, could you maybe try not being such an obnoxious douche-nozzle to my dad before I punch you in the throat?  Do I treat your dad that way?”, or Ben just being like “Why are you so mean to Poppa?” and then Jackson will have to face the full effect of the sad puppy face that got sprung on Stiles.  XD
I feel like it would make sense for it to take a few full moons for a turned wolf to achieve a full shift, especially if there’s no genetic component.  Almost all the wolves we see turned in the show have a rough enough time adapting at first without throwing in something like that.  I definitely think it makes more sense for born wolves to have an easier/quicker time of it, especially at first.
I love both of the recent previews.  I seriously have been ferally screaming over the pinned one all day.  XD  The swagger.  The mountain ash.  The “goddammit Peter, he’s not afraid of you, he’s afraid for you” of it all.  And the section when he’s first shifting is good, too (no matter when it was written.)  That’s going to be freaky as hell, even if you’re expecting it.  And the whole thing with the way his bones are cracking and such just feels like it emphasizes how warped and wrong it all is, at least to me, because as best I remember, the few times we see a full shift in the show, it just sort of seems to flow from one to the other.  Also, it just occurred to me that his alpha form was almost like a perfect balance of the American Werewolf in London and Underworld versions of full shift.  I’m curious to see if he maintains that version or if the presence of his mates/pack help him heal to a more normal version.  Part of me wants to see him get better because I don’t like seeing them hurt, part of me really wants to see his beast form tackle hug Noah and Chris and try to cuddle in their laps.  XD
And oh, man, those window seats just made me want them to have one in the rebuilt Hale house, maybe in like a loft or an upper floor, that’s big enough for the three of them to cram into, or the kids, or assorted combos thereof, in whatever forms they choose.  Especially for like during storms and stuff.  Just, all the cuddles, and reading stories to the littles, and taking random naps in the sunshine, and everything.
Also, now I’m picturing Noah and Chris singing shit like “You Make It Feel Like Christmas” and “Cuddle Up, Cozy Down Christmas”, or like that “Peace On Earth/Little Drummer Boy” thing Bing Crosby and David Bowie did, while trying to make Peter a surprise breakfast, and it’s adorable.  And I’ve been listening to way too much Straight No Chaser holiday music to deal with the idea of them all singing together in anything approaching a rational manner.  And is he not supposed to look at them like they’re part of the menu?  I’m pretty sure if Peter was given the option of what he’d like to eat first…well.  XD
Those poor teachers.  They probably thought they’d lucked out with this one after Stiles and Malia, and then the holidays came around…  (Just wait until they get the next round of Haleargentski children…)  XD
And I’m going to hold you to that promise of romance XD (not really, if it doesn’t work out that way, don’t worry.)  I would say “my body is ready”, but that feels like it might come across somewhat awkward.  XD  Although it did occur to me that given how he is about the whole “your all’s shirts are way too tight to share” thing, when it gets to that point, Noah’s probably also going to have one of those “it’s been a hot minute, so some things aren’t quite what they used to be” type moments like Chris had with Peter at the motel, though I think he’d be more likely to try and joke it off, and Peter’s just going to be like “Gods, you two really are as bad as each other sometimes”, while happily reassuring both of them, because he can, and he enjoys it.
And wow, I’ve rambled on so much longer than I meant to given that I have an early shift tomorrow (or today, really…  ’>.> )  So, I hope you got some decent rest, and your meds are helping like they should, and that you are happy with what you got done on the chapter.  I hope that today goes well, too, and that you find some good candy at post-holiday discount prices, if that is a thing they do there (or will that not happen until after Christmas?)  Anyway, I hope you have a good day, whatever else happens.  Take care!  *Hugs!*
Hey hey, I honestly had a pretty good day yesterday, a little busy because of last minute store runs and an uncooperating phone. (oh joy, had to reset the bastard twice) but other than that, pretty good.
Treated myself to a new game for Sinterklaas. It’s the Spiderman Game of the Year edition, I didn’t have that game yet and it was on sale for like 28 bucks and people left really good reviews. Maybe if I get some money for Christmas I might also get me the Miles Morales one, the new one. But I’m also getting Cyberpunk cause I pre-ordered it back in April, so we’ll see. I might just wait until Miles Morales goes on sale too in a couple of months. Still have to finish Valhalla first though XD.
And you’re not gonna believe it, but Mo left my Christmas tree completely alone. He does not care about the Christmas tree. He does not care about plants. He does not care about BOXES. I honestly think my cat is broken, but then again, I am typing this while he is sleeping in my lap and purring, so who cares.
And Omg XD I am eternally grateful Mo didn’t do that but I love Monkey and can see why they got that nickname XD What a rascal!
I mostly included NE for Peter because apparently that’s what Ian Bohen considers Peter’s Alignement to be. I personally think he’s more CN too (though I am probably basing that on his trauma.)
I actually made a personal alignment chart for the characters in Once Upon A Time here. (Though I forgot to include three characters namely the Nurse, John,  and Danny. I think Danny would fall under either NG or LN and he would probably tell someone if someone’s shoe laces were untied, and the nurse more under LE I guess, considering her background, though I feel like she’s not evil for evil’s sake she more or less was driven to it and as such has a strong need for revenge regardless of whom she hurts, though she tries to redeem herself later. (and that’s all I will say due to spoilers). And she would probably tie the person’s shoe laces for them, old habits die hard.) John I feel like would be CG or LN and he’d be the person to untie his own shoes in solidarity. (kinda like his grandchildren Stiles and Malia, where do you think they got that one from?)
But yeah I’m still not sure how to feel about the Disney one. I can kinda see with some of them where they were coming from but none of it feels ‘flawless’ or particularly right to me? Idk. I honestly feel like Kuzco and maybe Pocahontas were the two biggest Nopes for me. I mean Scar kinda fits, Elsa, I can see that, but none of it I truly identify these characters with. Idk.
And I feel like Peter or John probably had the foresight to store some of their most prized family heirlooms in that vault. Such as a copy of the family photo, Peter’s triskelion necklace piece, a springerle with wolf inscriptions,  some video tapes of the family, personal artifacts of each family member, and Talia and John’s claws, family recipes, some gifts John made for his grandchildren, and John’s journal about the family history, werewolf lore, and lots of dirt on both Elias Stilinski and Gerard Argent.
I feel like Peter speaking lots of languages also just makes sense. He seems to be the type to have connections everywhere and to have little birds everywhere listening in for him. He would also be the type of person to either have connections to or keep an eye on the Russian and Italian Maffia, he learned French and Polish for Chris and Noah, Spanish is just a useful language to learn because it's vast. And German and Dutch were taught to him from a young age, probably some Latin too. So I can see why many people would headcanon Peter as mutli-lingual, it just makes sense for his character.
Malia and Ben ganging up on Jackson is my new favorite image. Can you imagine what the combined power of those two will be? Also just any of the teenagers realizing they can deploy the younger sibling to be absolutely adorable and people will do anything for that face, no matter what the teenagers are asking.
As for Peter’s wolf, why not both? There’s no reason why he can’t act like an overgrown puppy as a beast and still heal and slowly revert back to his original form over the course of a couple of full moons as his mind heals from the trauma.
They’re definitely getting a windowseat big enough to seat three adults, four teenagers and a couple of little ones. Surrounded by books, a few curtains and lots of pillows. it needs to happen.
And you guessed it, there’s gonna be a shy moment where both Chris and Noah get self conscious about their bodies. Noah because, well, he gained some weight, got a bit older, has some stretch marks although he’s still goddamn fit considering what he does and he tries to play it off as a joke, Peter will show him just how sexy he is, really. And Chris has another moment because he had another baby, so more pudge, more stretch marks and due to his humanity, more scars. I think I’ll let Noah handle that one first and then Peter helps. Chris of course also worships Noah’s body, because holy shit, none of them is exactly in bad shape, but Noah’s definitely been hiding way more. Also Noah’s tall now, so Chris just sort of melts when the taller man sweeps him off his feet. We also need some Omega/Omega love in this story.
And wow, now I’ve been rambling XD. I’m gonna make me some late breakfast (it’s 1 pm) and grab some coffee and then start writing.

This is a lesser known but I think great game. Frankly I have seen far worse get several games. The slight twist being that in almost every game you play, goblins are the bad guys. Well in this one not only do you get to play them, you are the good guys! So lets dive into this.
Plot: The plot is, shall we say straight forward. We start with the beginning explaining that a mage greeted the goblins. Originally there were only 5, each with their own characteristics and personality. But as time went on there were hundreds and still growing. Each fell in line under one of the original 5, forming separate clans. You start out one day doing your usual work helping the master build the 'great machine.' When suddenly something goes wrong and the cave starts to fall down on the stone crusher clan, lead by Grommel. As you escape the master teleports out mortally wounded and when Grommel asks who did this, all he says is "brother" before dying. So nice beginning, suspicion of betrayal. However some red hellfire goblins are spying and see the dead master. The stone crusher clan moves to bring these ill tidings to Grax, leader of the hellfire and they are attacked when they get close. Turns out that they suspect Grommel of killing the master. Grax does not believe any of your protests of innocence so when you battle your way to the confrontation where you find Grax has laid a trap for Grommel, in the form of a room filled with gunpowder and igniting it himself. It fails and with no leader the Hellfire clan joins them. Basically the same thing happens with each group as you add them to your team. Up until the last group. That is where you find out that the last leader, Nassus, who I might add is the most evil looking and sounding goblin ever, is surprise surprise the one who tricked the other goblins against Grommel and Killed the master. However it is so obvious is almost impossible not to know this. The reason he did so was apparently the mage had a bit of a god complex. The 'great machine' was actually a soul bomb, a device that would kill and harvest all the souls of every living thing in the world, save for the one who uses it. Basically it would give the user the power of a hard reset to the world, to remake the entire world in the users image because they would have unlimited souls and the power to make all the living things to their choosing. Sort of how he used souls to make the goblins. The game ends with Nassus going into a portal vowing to just build a new one and try again, while Grommel throws his hammer at his head while he does. The game ends with even Grommel wondering if he is dead or not. I will just say that leaving your ending open is the best way to end a game. Gonna make a sequel? Perfect, leave people speculating. Just going to do one game? Still works and leaves the fans chomping at the bit for something new, or making up their own fan fiction.
Sound: Music is alright, nothing that will blow you away. They use fake speak to simulate goblin language, frankly I find this is an underrated method. For example, people HATE Starfox Adventures because they mixed up the letters for a legitimate way to change the language to both be usable and sound alien yet still be functional if you know how it works. This game uses half the effort and just has certain voices saying gibberish it. However the sounds are recycled so much you can tell they only have about 3 sound clips for each. So nothing to write home about but they tried.
Gameplay: Your usual game mechanics. Souls and gold are currency. Souls for making units, gold for buying upgrades, new units or defense towers. However they change up the style of each clan to have its own unique sort of ability's. For example, the stone crushers have the only healing unit and are well balanced with bonus armor. Hellfire have the most ranged units, most range and most sight. You almost always want them. Storm bringers use magic, have the most possible health and can have magic armor that acts as a health buffer. Plaugespitters have the most speed, can move through obstacles with ease and have acid. Over time the enemy loses a steady amount of hp for each hits. Meaning a small amount can do more damage to a large group. Finally the Nighthorde. pretty much death is their theme. They are melee focused but they loot more souls from battle, can actually generate gold from kills and can kill things with a single hit. you can only have a max of 3 clans so they play off each other, changing how you play against your enemy.
World: Not to lore heavy but the world is fleshed out. I already explained the difference but the units have very different looks and designs. I have to say that this is one game that does goblins right. Even as the good guys you solve problems the goblin way. Is the enemy using a thick forest for cover while they shoot you? Burn it down. Is somebody using some device to rain destruction down on your units? Bust it up. Very simple problem solving skills. No thinking about the aftermath or ecological repercussions. There is a ham-fisted charm to it. Anyone who just likes getting right down to the fisticuffs and does not want a story heavy plot getting in the way of the fun will love it. I have played through several times over and each level's sort of gimmick still gives it a unique play.
Characters: I have already gone over this but basically I will just sum these characters up in a goblin way.
Gromel: Big strong viking like leader of tough grey goblins. They work hard and strong good rocks. Frax: Boss of red gobbies. Make things go boom boom. Even own troops. Faine: Ruler of the Blue Stormbringers, master mage and commands the lighting as he wills. Few can match his wit and ingenuity. Syst: Great leader of the green clan that roams the hills. His will shapes the vines and bramble, twisting the very jungle in his favor. Nassus: Leader of purple nighthoarde, keeper of sssouls, maker of death and massster of lisssspsss. Pretty much mossst evil guy around.
Monsters: Just the goblins here, although I suppose the legendary units count too. Unless you count sheep and lava slimes.
Final thoughts: Overall this is what I would call a fun game that doesn't take itself too seriously. Not everything fun has to be complicated, time consuming or difficult. In fact I would say difficulty scales with fun. If a games controls are very specific, or requires pinpoint timing and mistakes are punished with fatality, you are robbing the game of enjoyment. Which do you think is more fun? Memorizing all the moves a character has and then carefully practicing them so you can do them on cue or having a button that does the activated move, halving the time to master a character? Would you rather just do the thing that makes you feel awesome, or would you like to earn it over a long time? Now I know some people will say you should work for it, or earn it. But are games really about "Earning the fun" through Work? Or are they supposed to be the reward themselves? Good questions to think about, till next time.

TieTuesday- Speaking of fun, here is someone to take a look at. Do you like watching good games, bad games or an adult playing games meant for little kids? Then he is the guy for you. This guy loves to be good at really bad games. In fact I think he placed second in worlds fasted playthrough of Sonic 06. Great sense of humor and even a few old references for nerdy peeps. Check him out here https://www.youtube.com/user/TieTuesdaySA and I know for a fact he has done the best lets plays of Super Godzilla and Mission impossible.
