as for your first kiss with printer man (formerly printer boy before he got his glow up), it was really an accident at first. it had been a few days since you confessed your feelings for each other, and now you and him were working with the rest of the iluna gang to decorate for a school dance. kyo was hanging directions when he began to teeter off the stool he was standing on, causing you to run up behind him in case he fell. he turned around to say hi before the stool mysteriously fell (not like maria was standing right behind it and kicked it out from under him haha what are you talking about of course not). in true fanfiction written by a teenager fashion, he ended up on top of you with his lips on yours. it really was an accident. but when he pulled away, he simply looked in awe and asked, “can we do that again?”.

he’s a very passionate kisser. he doesn’t care where you are or how many people are allowed with your consent he’ll pull you close and kiss you like it was the last thing he’d ever do. of course our demon man loves just kissing your forehead or hands or cheek, literally anywhere lmao.

1. my favorite fic of yours is probably phantasmagoria (with sanemi’s “bundle of joy” and rengoku’s “tell me to stop” being very close second and third places). i loved the complexity of the characters, the unreliable narration, how there was no “black and white” so to speak, everyone in the story in some way or another wasn’t completely good or completely horrible (except d*uma ofc), everyone fucked up somewhat along the way (some more than others lmao); however i am also super excited as well for the great war and vow between man and star, and ofc the completion of netherwood lolol, and have no doubt you’ll crush those fics too!!

3. best character you’ve written for: honestly, i’m just gonna straight up say i love how you write ALL your characters. however (and i’ve talked about this to you before) i have never loved how someone writes kyojuro more than how you write him. i am not the biggest kyo girlie (gasp i know) BUT the way you write him??? god i’d marry your version of kyo in an instant. you make him so much more than just the over-enthusiastic characteristics that he possesses, and i love that about your writing of him.

of course, i loveeee how you write sanemi and giyuu as well (your sanemi is what turned me from thinking “oh this guy is kinda cute” to being a victim of sanemi brainrot), and ofc your characterization of giyuu is so on-point and ugh (can you tell that i love your writing LOL)

8. what i like the most about your writing: it’s so difficult to pick just a single thing lmao (i love your descriptions, your dialogue, your storytelling/plot delivery, everything really) but i think what i like most is your creativity. you think of the most interesting premises (take vow between man and star, i still don’t know how you thought up the storyline for that, and yet it’s one of my favorite premises that i’ve seen come out of that beautiful brain of yours; same with phantasmagoria, i loved how you wrote the story and the dynamics between characters and how you took into consideration how certain plot points would cause internal changes within the reader and sanemi, the foreshadowing, the narration, everything really.) your creativity is astounding to me, and i love every single idea you think up and share with us<3

↳ AUTHOR’S NOTES: AW YEAH MY FIRST DEMON SLAYER FIC BBY LET'S GOOOO, this is probably really bad lmao i'm sorry, but i wanted to go easy for my first one. dedicating to @dudeandduchess because mahal kita po <3 and i've been wanting to dedicate a rengoku fic to you for quite some time, love! hehe, i hope you like it.

Far beneath the horizon, Rengoku sat underneath the willow tree. Arms sprawled out, mind dazed into a mist. The stars seemed to be brighter tonight rather than usual. Rather so, it was uncanny to have him puzzled in his own tranquil state of mind—Rengoku was bold; brave, uptight in his own way though he was gentle with it in a swift manner. At least, only with your presence, and his ears perked up at the clanking noise of pans coming from the inside of your home.

Intrigued, he sits up, raising his eyebrows high. Fire lit in his heart—as typical, though he believed that it was more than the uproars that he’d bestow upon the other Hashira that he had grown accompanied to. At least, with the way you smiled at him, peeking into his eyes—watching the match light up within his pupils, his heart soared. In indescribable ways. And Rengoku watches you set the table up.

Bowls of rice decorate the mahogany wood nicely; matcha tea resting close near the edge. Fresh fish cooked to his liking, and he nearly salivates at the sight. He makes his presence known, bolstering out how your cooking always endeared him, and he frantically dives in quickly—allowing you to choke out laughs while attempting to pass over any sauces.

“As usual, Y/N, your cooking is outstanding!” He says loudly, twirling the chopsticks in his hands. “It’s always a pleasure to see you before I go out to do my assignments!”

“I’m glad you made it,” you say, swirling the tea in your hands. “I’m a bit concerned though, Kyo.”

“Why is that?” He asks, keeping a smile on his face; brows still raise in a matter of confusion.

“Something doesn’t feel right,” you admit, rolling your shoulders back in defeat. “Maybe I’m just worried that you won’t come back.”

He blinks at you mindlessly. Rengoku always understood your fear; irrational, yet he admitted to himself that it was normal for you to feel such a way. Out of all the Hashira, you remained the closest with him—though you managed to captivate him out of all people.

Rengoku eyes your look; displeased, filled with a tint of worry. A look he doesn’t typically like to see, but he works with it. Has to. For your sake; the connection he built with you was not meant to be broken.

Rengoku was a man true to his words; a kind, loud spirit, he was. The match lit in his heart was an obvious notice to his emotions—fiery blaze of reds; soon to die out into a swirl of pinks. Cherry blossoms, almost. Only you made him feel this way.

And he wasn’t going to remain in denial for so long. Truly, he was able to shout out his true nature to you. A scream of “I love you”s was an obvious act, but had you felt the same way? A Hashira; one that sacrifices his life to protect others—such as you—to be troubled with his own emotions, even for the tumultuous persona he illustrated?

“I’ll always come back to you, Y/N!” Rengoku responds, putting his bowl down. “Your food is tasty as always—of course, how could I not come back to such a beautiful talent in cooking?”

Fighting back a cough, you turn away. “You aren’t afraid to speak out your thoughts, Kyo. Really.”

Rengoku purses his lips. ‘Well…’ his mind wanders into a thought. At least, even for one moment, he allows himself to cherish his time with you—only in case the night before he leaves would be his last. His heart quickens its beat, nearly enough to have him choke on his bite of rice before he restrains himself.

“There’s something on your mind,” you chuckle, reaching for your mug. “What is it, Kyo?”

“Nothing at all, Y/N!” He says loudly, taking in bits of his rice. “You don’t need to worry about me so much. I’m honored, but your heart is filled with so much kind spirit.”

“Of course I care. I get concerned…” your voice trails off, “I wonder if there’ll be a night where you won’t come visit anymore and something must’ve happened to you.”

Clear night sky; the faint ambient noise of the wind sings from the outside. Field quiet behind the both of you. Even the warmth of his cheeks would’ve been enough to keep Rengoku cool.

The whole dinner was an exchange of conversations. A typical bit of his talk about working with the pillars—with a new occurrence of a newbie and her demon sister. An usual uprising, though Rengoku pondered on about it throughout the course of the meal.

Eyes so hollow from exhaustion. Only Rengoku could stare into your dilated pupils and note how you were feeling from overworking yourself with the crops on the daily. Though, even for the moment when the color was shallow, he noted the dust of gold across the match in his heart—a bright flame, enough to cause his cheeks to flush.

Love; Uzui scoffed at him at one point that he needed someone to hold.

“M’sorry, Kyo…” your lips purse slowly, voice fading out to a fog. “I’m very exhausted…”

Rengoku’s eyes widen, watching your tired figure nearly tumble on the table. Quickly, he rises to a halt and catches your body. A warm embrace, with your chest close to his beating heart. Not one moment did he find regret in it, and he allowed himself to carry you to the bedroom.

“It’s time for you to sleep, Y/N,” Rengoku says, fighting back a laugh. “You overwork yourself too much.”

“Shh,” you sigh, wailing a hand. “I don’t know what you mean.”

“I’m positive you do, but you might be too overwhelmed to think right now.”

“It’s too early for bed.”

Rengoku laughs. “At least, rest. You know you need it.”

Tucking you beneath the covers, he takes the opportunity to sit close to the futon. Rengoku watches you stir underneath the whites; hand intertwining with his.

He opens his mouth, debating on speaking a word, though he decides not to.

Instead, a gentle smile rises—brightening eyes softening to low saturation, and he leans in. Lips connecting into one; you melt into his touch, not thinking once about how caught off guard you were. Heart flutters to an endless rhythm, just as he anticipated—only for his heart to burn for yours.

And you notice his smile rising against the kiss, where his large hand pets your neck softly. Tender. As if one movement could shatter you—but Rengoku knew himself better than anyone. A man so deep to dedication and brawny determination. He believed he was meant to share his waking moments of understanding this funny thing called love with you, so with the given chance, why not take it? Much as he did.

“I love you,” his tone dies down to a compassionate melody. “Very much.”

You blink. “You… what?”

“And I will return to you once I’ve fulfilled my duty,” he murmurs right before his lips press against your forehead. “I look forward to having you safe in my arms, Y/N. It’s my strong motivation. So, please, don’t work yourself too hard.”

“You want to leave so soon?”

“I have a job to do, my love,” Rengoku responds. “Focus on your rest.”

He pulls away, trailing his finger across your tired face once more before sending off a wide grin. That exuberant spirit returned at last. And his body raced into an adrenaline high, right for the given moment of exiting the small home you owned.

The night is bright; the wing rings; and Rengoku’s heart is set to a soaring flame.

He turns back, grin not escaping his face once.

“Don’t worry, my love,” he says. “Once my mission with the Mugen Train is a success, then I will come right back to you.”

“Things might be a bit tense.” Oh, I’m sure. I don’t think it’s all going to be sunshine and daisies. Akito may be behaving a hell of a lot better and changed her ways, but there’s still a lot of pain here, pain that she directly caused. I’m interested to see how this is going to go.

I love that they’re not all awkward around each other. It just goes to show that a lot of their genuine personalities poked through even among the curse. They all do have a bond, curse or no curse. And it’s very nice to see Kyo being actually included in that bond.

Yeaaah, this is what I’m worried about with Akigure as a ship. Akito’s better, but she still has a tendency to fly off the handle if she thinks she’s being slighted, and it makes me worried about how they would handle dispites and arguments without getting physical like that, you know? I’d hope that she’d do it less and less as time goes on. 

“All of you are free. And this may come too late, but for everything... I’m...” Oh my god. Is she trying to apologize? 

She can’t, though. It won’t come out. I bet she probably feels like sorry isn’t enough, in some ways. How do you apologize for a lifetime of suffering that you’ve caused, the trauma inflicted on other people? 

I guess Akigure are official, lol. I mean, I’m glad that Akito’s getting a somewhat happy ending. Shigure, I still don’t like him but he’s a fantastic character. 

Akito’s gonna stay at the estate and be the head without keeping anyone shackled to her. That’s as good of an ending as I could’ve anticipated for her. I’ll be honest: I still feel like she got off a little easy. She should’ve faced some legal consequences, at least. But I don’t dislike her like I used to. She’s definitely come around and I’ve partially forgiven her. 

I’ll talk more about my feelings about Akito and everything once I’ve finished, but that’s where I am right now.

Oh, Isuzu, my poor girl. 

This might change later on, but as of right now, I don’t fully forgive Akito, either. There’s just too much that she did to too many people. Like Rin, like Yuki, like Kyo. Even Hatori. I’m generally a forgiving person, but I have a hard time with abusive characters. Maybe it’s from my own past, being a survivor of abuse. Being around it and knowing how they are just impacts you differently, I guess. I don’t know if it’s right to say that maybe people who haven’t experienced abuse are able to forgive easier. 

I haven’t forgiven my abuser, and I never will. Do I still understand why they did it, why they are who they are, and do I still empathize? YES. I feel a lot for people. I feel a lot for Akito on a positive note, and I’m so proud of her progression. She’s a hurt woman who deserved better and who hurt people because she was in so much pain herself. She hasn’t been able to break free of her abuser or heal yet. She needs a safe space to do that, and she’s beginning to learn to be better and be a sweeter person. Tohru showed her that. 

But like Rin, I can’t fully forgive her. If Tohru hadn’t done what she did, hadn’t reached out to Akito, Akito never would’ve changed. She would’ve continued to be horrible and not feel regret for the things she’s done. I appreciate that she was trying to apologize, though. And there are things that I’ve forgiven her for. It’s the worst indiscretions that I can’t. How she treated Rin and Yuki, specifically. I know that she was projecting with Rin. But Rin was a child and an abuse victim herself. Out of all of them, Akito could’ve related to her. Akito knew. She used that instead to hurt Rin, and that is the one thing that I’ll never be okay with. 

“They’ll need time. A whole lot.” Yes. And even then, it may not be enough. Some scars run so fucking deep that even time doesn’t help. I’ve healed from my trauma. It doesn’t impact me anymore. I’ve learned how to cope and move on and now utilize those skills to help others. I think time will help, though, and it may allow others to forgive Akito later. 

Distance is the key here, I think. If they’re not around her, maybe forgiveness will come easier. 

Wow, Akito taking what she learned from Tohru and reaching out to the maid? We love to see it.

There’s so much to talk about this episode!

Yuki’s true feelings are finally revealed!

There were also just some really cool and depressing shots of Yuki. They really did a good job making you feel Yuki’s loneliness & isolation.

This scene just hit me a lot harder than the manga in certain ways. Like the harsh interaction between them has always been a memorable moment in the manga to me, but what really stood out here is that Yuki not only felt bad for Kyo, but was probably thinking “oh this kids alone just like me maybe we can be friends and be not alone anymore” 😭😭😭

I just thought this sequence was beautiful and tragic. Just everything I wanted from this. Kyo obviously has his own trauma, but the fact that Kyo has some of these things Yuki desperately wants just slapped me in the face all over again.

This scene caused me to be the angriest with Akito I think I’ve ever been. The way he’s just casually (or maliciously tbh) talking about death and suicide while juggling hackysacks I cannot.

The way the anime showed him running and stopping and waiting for her to follow and then his bby rat tears UGHH MY HEART 😭😭😭

One of my issues with this episode is that it kind of sucks to break up the flow of this whole thing between Yuki and Kakeru. I feel like moments between them aren’t going to hit as hard because their interactions around the confession are broken up into 3 different episodes, but I mean what can you do 🤷🏼‍♀️ I also think something about the “like a mother” line didn’t hit quite hard enough for me. To me it just sounded like Tohru’s character is motherly rather than the big reveal that Yuki really sees her as having filled that void in his life of needing a parent’s love. I think it might have been better to skip the internal dialogue and just have the line be “She accepted me time and time again just like a real mother”. But of course that’s just me!

And if we weren’t already excited for next week (one of my top 3 favorite Yuki lines is coming!!) the VA delivery of next’s week’s episode title has me extra hyped haha

Tour19 This Way to Self-Destruction Kanazawa & Fukuoka ♡

金沢市文化ホール

Kanazawa was a day of reunions and meetings with many precious people so it’s a day that will always stand out in my memory. Kanazawa Bunka Hall is a lovely venue but felt a little odd for a rock concert. Due to various circumstances I ended up with a front row seat in this hall, dead in front of Shinya and Die. I was extremely excited about it but it also felt quite odd, because the circumstances that led to me getting this ticket were really unfortunate. Anyway. 

The edge of the stage was barely over an arms length away and there was this hilarious little rope on the ground at our feet for the ‘barrier’. I think they only raised it during the encore? I was concerned I’d be going head first into the stage when headbanging, but thankfully it wasn’t a problem and I quickly realised we’d have to be far more careful of the photographers crawling around in front of us trying to get  their pics of the guys 😂 Thankfully they were very accomodating of our enthusiasm and we were no trouble to them 😂 I hope. Although I think during one song a guy may have got whipped by my hair. I’m sorry bro. So yes, DEAD IN FRONT of Shinya and Die…It was Bliss…I think this is probably the deepest engagement I’ve ever been able to have during a live because there were just no mitigating factors…the stage was right there and there was no one in front of me or crushing me or hindering me in any way. Unbelievable. The stage in Bunka Hall was pretty large and not just wide but quite deep. Kyo’s box was placed way further back than usual, like easily a good few steps between it and the stage edge.

I believe that both the SE and the SE footage used on this tour are the same as in TIW spring tour. There maaay be some variation in the footage but overall the impression is exactly the same. I was surprised by that because I had thought that this being such an extensive tour with a new single at the helm that they might develop the visuals a bit more, and mix things up a bit, but this tour is no different to TIW tour aesthetically speaking. It’s also a less varied setlist, which surprised me at first, but now makes complete sense due to the nature of The World of Mercy.

Seeing Zetsuentai up that close for the first time was incredibly moving, and then the transition right into Keigaku created this most hypnotic atmosphere. It was a really nice opening pair especially for a seated venue, it let the atmosphere really blossom before jumping into the more energetic songs. They started Downfall and I lost it, I think the only song I was looking forward to hearing again MORE from The Insulted World was Ningen. I cannot believe I was meh about Downfall until I experienced it live! On record, at first I thought it just sounded choppy and a bit generic, but live it just explodes with emotional intensity and I am absolutely crazy about the bridge. Major highlight was Die coming right up to the edge of the stage at literal arms-length away and just rocked out there for a moment while I threw down my SPINE. He was wearing these glittering wide-leg trousers that really caught my eye when he was right there…And his hair is magnificent 💞 And then IN DEVOTE Kaoru came over from shimote during the second verse and stood in the same place…right over me and Britti and, made his rock star face…pretty sure I lost control of my entire face and possibly shouted “TO DIE IN” right at him, RIP…I cannot fully remember but he was, enthused. Oh my god…I love him. So I have very little memory of Kyo from Downfall > Ningen due to the fabulous antics of Die and Kaoru, but Kyo’s wonderful dancing in Celebrate obviously always stands out. He does this irresistible jerky dance with his hips and arms and flops his head around during the main riff and like, it’s impossible to NOT move watching him do this. This song is so much FUN live.

Every time I hear those opening chords of Ningen I experience, like, a physical anticipation and pleasure that is pretty much unique to this song. No other song gives me a physical sensation like this one, I just find it really, really intensely emotional. And I know this song is sooommmewhat derivative and hardly like groudbreaking-ly original or anything like that and I DON’T. CARE. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Stanning 人間 till DEATH, bye. Also during the second interlude, after Ningen (I think) we were calling out for Shinya, which I do not do ENOUGH. I mean I was standing RIGHT in front of him, I had no excuse not to stan. Called for Kyo as well bc he was sitting on the drum stand like RIGHT THERE and I was like “oh fuck 🤡”

ALSO one important tidbit I don’t want to forget about, is a friend telling me she could see Die glancing at my hair all the time while I was headbanging 😂 the thought of this makes me feel all glowy

I have only the vaguest memory of Aka…I was thinking about it as I was looking at the setlist and trying to remember each song and I could barely conjure Aka at all. It just didn’t stand out especially tonight which is weird for me, because last spring it was paired with undecided. Played as a ‘pair’, those two songs created an unforgettable and incredibly distinct moment in the set each night…on this tour Aka is somewhat marooned, alone in the middle with all the really energetic songs. I do recall Kyo creating his loop out of the mic chord and dragging it around his neck during the guitar solo, and watching Die’s passion at various moments. And I do so so so love being called on to sing during this song…I love singing Aka so much, the melody is so smooth and melancholy and the words just flow off the tongue so beautifully…I love it

After Aka we smashed into Merciless Cult and I have a lot of trouble remembering anything from Merciless > Values with any cognisance. Kyo moved around a LOT during Rubbish Heap and Values and I think Die and Kaoru also did. Kyo was energetic and interactive during this part of the set and he was demanding MORE from the audience. I wish I had seen more of Toshiya tonight but I honestly barely saw him, he did not visit our side at all or move to the front much and a lot of the time Kyo obscured him from my line of vision. Bby! I was able to see Kaoru most of the time but I only turned to him at select times bc, guys. Die was RIGHT in front of me and I love him. As if I’m going to treat him so poorly?

Then it was time for Ranunculus & The World of Mercy. I have listened to The World of Mercy incessantly since it’s release, but for me, the effect of it’s ‘pairing’ with Ranunculus in this set, almost as a Part 2 of that song was just…after the experiences and emotions of Ranunculus on the previous two tours… in a way it was deeply heartbreaking.  Kyo was extremely emotional during Ranunculus today, but it felt different…I couldn’t put my finger on it until we talked about it afterwards, but it was rattling. I couldn’t tell if he was weeping, but he screamed, and tore at his clothing and thrashed his body around and then at the end of the song, he fell and bent into the foetal position. Delay was used on the mic as they transitioned out of Ranunculus into the soft open of Mercy. He began making these desperate, abstract sounds that immediately reminded me of his inward screams. Perhaps he was using words but to me it sounded like wordless pleading murmuring and gurgling and breath. I could clearly see his face on the floor while he was doing this and it was unpleasant to watch…it’s hard to describe at all. He sounded like he was crying, but I don’t know if there were tears. He sat up slowly, cradling the mic and then began laughing horribly. Letting out these hopeless forced cackles as he sat there looking crumpled, and that was how he vocalised the first lines of Mercy.

It was difficult to watch. I wanted to cry but also wanted to hide. I did not feel this horrible hopelessness in Mercy at the following 3 lives I attended, which is not to say that it wasn’t there, but perhaps was more poetic and contained, and less raw than it was tonight. The following 3 shows also had a far greater sense of intimacy and rapport between the band and the audience imho. When Mercy came to an end the hall was just engulfed in dead silence. The backdrop went black, and then glowed with DIR EN GREY + the tour title in bright red text. I almost completely burst into tears. The members all left quietly and applause broke out, and then the call for encore went up. I collapsed momentarily to drink some water but then had to stand back up bc lol if I’d stayed seated it would have all been OVER for me.

The encore was LIT, but it was a bit odd having Followers right in the middle of all the rowdy songs. Hydra 666 mates…mates UGGGHHHHH IT’S JUST SO FUCKIN LIT ugghhh the mask experience is insane and seeing Kyo projected on the backdrop like THAT…in THAT song. Epic iconic immortal ugh this influence this legacy. I almost FELL head first into the stage during Kigan, it was a CLOSE CALL. New Age was absolutely manic, Kyo was running everywhere and I’m pretty sure it was on his way back from kamite here that he gestured at us as he danced past hahaha I was too close to the stage to see anything he was doing on his adventures, and I think Kaoru came over again and Die visited shimote 💞At the end of the song Kyo was right at the edge in the centre, and he was grimacing with his effort not to smile. He failed and smiled hugely for a moment with his face turned on side.

They closed out with Utafumi which I can honestly never remember well, like the song is just too hectic and always ends with me bent over bashing my brain against my skull. At the end Shinya was being EXTREMELY PASSIONATE with the drums, it was RATTLING my whole body and Toshiya was like…. .. .. . . . … .. . . …. . .. . (are u done???) lajsndflkas 💞At the end Kyo stood on his crate and briefly took in the hall with an unreadable expression, he clapped and then departed. The other guys threw a few goodies, and then also departed. None of them seemed displeased, and from my vantage they all seemed to have had a good live but I was told the audience was rather stoic so they weren’t excessive with their gifts at the end of the night. I have a very distinct memory of Kaoru doing his thing…standing DEAD in front of me hardcore ignoring us 😂 Die and Toshiya did the same but they are like, not so deliberate about it. They just like, cruise along while Kaoru deliberately stands there with that smirk like. hahahaa….ur not getting one alskjdnflaksjd. It makes me LAUGH 😂 The backdrop was emblazoned with the band’s name and tour title again, and Kaoru was the last to leave. He left with smiles and waves and gestured strongly at the backdrop which got an additional cheer. Then he left! And I immediately became a boneless blob…I think my muscles took a whole week to recover from this show.

Zepp Fukuoka 

This is a VERY Kyo centric report I am sorry for all the things that ESCAPED ME!

So this show made me never, ever want to miss a Dir live in Fukuoka ever again. Tonight was so emotional!! This is the third time I’ve seen Dir in Fukuoka and the second time I’ve seen them at the Zepp, although I believe it  has been completely re-done and is a different venue to the time I saw them there in 2015. To get inside the hall we had to go down two flights of stairs and inside it felt very intimate. I had a good number and had a nice spot just at the back of the pit in front of the first rail which is where I love to be. I was right between Toshiya and Kyo, and it was such a good spot.

Kyo’s outfit tonight I absolutely LOVED, he was wearing the HELL out of a calf-length pleated black skirt with his tabi boots and a white dress shirt done up at the neck with a black ribbon, plus a slim black harness over the shirt as well. There were several times where I was just completely transfixed by his silhouette, and the ‘flow’ this long skirt gave his body and movements.

Zetsuentai had a BIGGER impact tonight and honestly there were a couple of moments for me where tears came on…when he broke into ”aa, damashi au koto de dare…” my heart felt like it was being squeezed and tears just came out…the second one, after “kono sekai mienakereba jibun no mama de ireru”, was even worse..and then when he broke into “shinjite mireba…” I was practically gasping for air…not due to heavy crying, because i wasn’t, but I was just overcome with emotion that couldn’t find it’s way out in tears…my whole body felt like a prison and I just wanted to scream. So Zetsuentai was…amazing tonight, it was only topped by the second night in Okinawa. Because that night, it was mid-set… I was VISIBLY not the only person having an emotional breakdown.

The final riff in Zetsuentai ground to a halt and the hall erupted in feral screaming, completely drowning out the final notes of the track and then oh my god…we slid into Ningen and I experienced extreme catharsis lmao oh my god…Kyo spoke as those opening chords sounded and we roared at him and that’s all I can remember except for headbanging and singing my heart out…it was Bliss. At the end of Ningen there was an break and Kyo sat on the drum stand and just looked at the crowd, and Toshiya left the stage. They did this during every break this evening. The screaming was deafening, just absolutely amazing. Growling. It drew to an end we had Downfall, Devote, Celebrate and Merciless. I just can’t…Fukuoka  LOVED Downfall, we were singing the FUCK outta that bridge well before the section that Kyo gives to us and he LOVED it, and then Devote started and Kyo was moving all over the place and did the whole song basically right at the edge of the stage, pointing and gesturing and making faces. Celebrate was a DANCE, we had some BOPS. There was this super passionate guy right next to me who just got down SO HARD for this song as well, we had the SPACE to dance and bop so we just did it and I just lajskdnflaksjd the Toshiya fangirls to my front-left were also just having the BEST fucking time. I kept hearing this girl sing out “Toshiyaaaaaa” in this really quite melodious voice all night laksjdnlf. Kyo’s dancing was also wonderful, his long skirt accentuated his hip movements uhuhu 😭

Merciless Cult is a blur, I could DIE. At the start Kyo snarled “掛かって来い!!!” at us and there was a lot of shrieking and oh my god that mosh…Kaoru and Die were LOVING it and Kyo was shaking his entire body at us as we screamed “GASP” and oh my god oh my god… Kyo just wordlessly howled at us to sing “kurikaeshi tsuranuku…aaaa, doko ka, kowarete yuku” and people SCREAMED with Kyo as he broke out at the end of the line and threw ourselves back into the riff….I am honestly shaking just thinking about it.

And then Keigaku came after the second interlude with a lot more feral screaming and oh. my. god. This Keigaku is INCOMPARABLE and probably my FAVOURITE performance that I have ever witnessed of this song. Kyo sighed creepily into the mic at the start, making these sinuous movements with his body and voice that were just COMPLETELY captivating and then slid into those obscure words…before each heavy riff he just HOWLED, it was like his body was taken over by the song completely. During the thrash sections the crowd went WILD and I don’t mean just movement I mean people were screaming, i was losing my mind. By the time the second verse sidled up we were so hypnotised it felt like everyone there was swaying in sync and we drew into that riff again, Kyo was singing COMPLETELY different lyrics and in that small empty space before Kaoru crashes in he CACKLED into the mic and then just shrieked…oh my god oh mygod. He sang “me o mukeyou to wa shinai, sou made shite itsuwarita…” with such a sensual quality like he was winding in on himself… then as it ended he uttered those omitted (?) words…はやく死ね (“fucking die quickly”; personally i feel like the sentiment is very like “i hope you drop dead” but that’s my impression)… 

and those words led straight into Aka, which left a MUCH bigger impression than in Kanazawa because god following Keigaku… In the second verse he sang different lyrics and then called on us to sing…it felt very subdued and hopeless. Kyo looped the chord around and around again… ugh. And then Rubbish Heap ohhhhh my god. Kyo went straight to kamite at the start of Rubbish Heap and held his fist up and SHOOK it at us, and I saw more people than USUAL make fists lmao. Me and old mate next to me were jump-punching the air with every “FIST” and Kyo gestured in our direction and I know Die saw us 😂 Keibetsu and Values are just…a blur of adrenaline. I know the guys moved around during Values but I was too busy dancing to remember ljhgkhgkj.

Ranunculus was so incredibly soft tonight…At the start Kyo was breathing into the mic and the opening verse was so beautiful and during the second he became teary…he beat himself with the mic and screamed three times before the final chorus … ;_______; As it ended Kyo kept repeating “わたし…一人で…” with delay on the mic again and then just lapsed into silence. He sang those first lines of Mercy almost with a kind of lethargy…like he’d just woken up. His body looked limp as well…he started moving the mic around so his voice was smaller and more distant…and when it reached “majiwaru ima…” he just wailed it and screamed out as Shinya broke in…I was absolutely beside myself and was just standing there crying…he vocalised “mada minu mirai de kusarou” in this desperate elongated wail that is probably the most vivd memory I have from the entire concert. As he repeats “yuugi…yuugi…yuugi…” he turns and slowly draws his arm around in circles…he uses his whole body to make this shape though, using his hips to create this undulating motion that is completely hypnotic.

During the interlude after the first heavy section Kyo gnaws on his wrist. He did this in Kanazawa as well, but tonight it was rather more intense for me I think because I was more directly in front of him and he was making extremely erotic moaning and sighing and sucking sounds into the mic. >.< In Kanazawa this part was slightly alarming bc it looked like he was really BITING his wrist, but after seeing it a few times there is far more tongue than tooth action and it can be appreciated as a more ritualistic/symbolic performance. After gnawing he holds his wrist over his cupped hand as though collecting blood in it, then scoops with his fingers and smears it across his lips and eyes…all you can hear is piano and his breathing. Then he wailed “majiwaru ima…” and I immediately started crying again, as I already felt quite FRAGILE watching this. >.<

The encore was a blast. Wake + Followers was an absolute pleasure and then THEY PLAYED GAIKA and I’m pretty sure I fuckin astral projected because I can’t remember a GOD DAMN THING that might have happened!! New Age is a DIFFERENT STORY during New Age Kyo made fish-hooking gestures in his mouth with his pinky finger, dragging one side of his mouth up into a deranged smile before flinging his hand out, I remember him doing this both at kamite and in the centre, dancing around and pointing and eyeballing people. And it was during the breakdown in this song where Kyo was right in the middle and he bent forward and started doing this STOMP DANCE in time with the riffs and it was SO FUCKING DOPE UGGGHHH his expression and posture were so ON POINT it’s literally one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. Kaoru also came to the middle and I absolutely screamed and shook my fist at him like a lunatic and he just jutted his chin lmfao. I cannot remember a thing from Utafumi either, it is hopeless.

Kyo stayed at the end longer than he did in Kanazawa, it was kinda sweet, with each show I attended he stayed a bit longer. He clapped and fox-kissed us and waved bye-bye and then left. the other guys stayed longer as well and threw MUCH more stuff than they did in Kanazawa. And everyone left GLOWING. Band and fans. Everyone looked so full and pleased, it was wonderful. I feel like the whole band and everyone in the crowd had a wonderful night. ❤️

10th: Riki Yanase ♡ [Love Letter from Thief X]

Riki is one of the guys I've been very addicted to.  I would spend my days (if I'm not at school) and nights reading his stories. He kinds of come out as an arrogant guy but he's really sweet and loving and passionate about the people he loves. He would always make them happy and safe and would put them and their happiness first. 

9th: Huedhaut ♡ [Star Crossed Myth]

When I first saw the summary or the preview for Hue’s story, I knew that I had to read it and I wasn’t wrong. This guy is a snarky hot and smart guy which rules the Zodiac sign Aquarius. He makes the best wines and all but he’s broken and refused to acknowledge love again after losing you, the previous goddess of fate, the love of his life. He sacrificed one of the stars in his life to make sure that you live. His sarcastic and funny comments would make you laugh, his painful past with the goddess of fate would make you cry, but his sweet and flowery words and gestures would definitely make you swoon. I swear.

8th: Ryota Mochizuki ♡ [Our Private Homeroom]

Before I played this story I had reservations about playing this game. Since I wasn't fond of teacher-student relationships and only went for student-student and teacher-teacher types, but boy did this story proved me wrong. I was practically smitten with him for being such a cutie and A MATH TEACHER. HE LOVES MATH AND SO DO I. We instantly clicked y’know? What’s better is that he’s kind to all of his students and cheers them on and just shows how damn good of a teach he is. Then he can like see and recognize your hard work and would totally cheer you on when you’re losing faith on yourself. He would also prioritize you, your dreams and your happiness above anything and would sacrifice his job that he loves and fight for you.

7th: Kyohei Rikudoh ♡ [Scandal in the Spotlight]

BBY KYO ❤ THIS GUY MAKES THE ABSOLUTE BEST FRIED RICE APPARENTLY HEHE JUST A FUN FACT. It was love at first sight with this guy. He’s the sexiest man alive I think? Well that’s true for me at least hihi. Kyohei loves to tease you and do sweet things for you. He would sacrifice everything for you and always put you and your happiness first. He loves seeing you blush and smile and make all those “cute expressions”. He would protect, care, love and cherish those important to him. He’s strict with work but that’s because Revance is really important to him. He’s hot and he knows it. He loves spending time with you especially alone times hihi 😉 He may come off as arrogant to other people but really, he’s just a handsome and easily jealous cutie pie. ❤

6th: Toma Kiriya ♡ [Irresistible Mistakes]

HERE COMES ONE OF MY SNARKIEST MOST SARCASTIC BUT LOVING AND SWEET AND UNDERSTANDING AND SUPPORTIVE CUTIE. He loves sugary drinks tbh he says it gives his brain the energy it needs. He loves to work and he’s good at what he does, usually handpicked for big projects. He’s unstoppable with MC beside him hihi. He’s so cute when he blush like he’s such a cutie pie. He’s probably the best guy to have a conversation with, like literally he cracks me up every time and makes me happy every time I see his face. I’m in love hihi. WHY CAN’T TOMA EXIST IN REAL LIFE?! HE’S JUST SO PERFECT.

5th: Tsumugu Kido ♡ [Our Two Bedroom Story]

Here comes my awkwardly cute, blushes easily when he says or does something sweet or bold or when MC does the same, king of tightwads. He’s what you would call stingy but it’s just because of how hard it was for them in the past. He’s good with his work and has a “split-personality” hehe when he’s at work and at home. He loves the MC so much and knows how hard she works as well as how good she is at work but would never openly admit it in normal times. He’s such a cutie pie who loves strawberries and HIS SIBLINGS ARE SO CUTE AND PRETTY, sazuku being the cute and sakura and mizuki being the pretty ones. I love his puns and jokes. He loves seeing you happy and would be happy knowing that you are. HE’S SUCH A CUTIE I SWEAR BRO.  

4th: Izaac Martin ♥ [Gossip Girl Party]

YOU GUYS, DO YOU PEOPLE EVEN KNOW OR REMEMBER GOSSIP GIRL PARTY? BECAUSE I CERTAINLY DO. THIS GAME IS STILL AND WILL FOREVER BE IN MY HEART AND MIND AND NOTHING CAN EVER MAKE ME FORGET THIS ESPECIALLY MY BABY IZAAC. Y’KNOW SEEING THE FAREWELL MESSAGES THEY GAVE US WAS DEFINITELY HEARTBREAKING. I WAS FREAKING CRYING THE WHOLE ASJAKDDGDSNVKDJBVUD TIMES I READ THAT MESSAGE. WHY DID VOLTAGE HAVE TO REMOVE IT FROM GOOGLE PLAY? WHY CAN’T WE JUST KEEP THEM EVEN IF THEY WON’T UPDATE IT ANYMORE? 😭💔 But okay let me just say that Izaac is my forever babe even if I hated one of his stories that led me to uninstalling the app and reinstalling it again right away hehe. He’s like perfect. He would tease you with his words but would also say and do the sweetest things. He loves you so much and knows you so well. 3rd: My Forevs Inspiration and Smexiest Cool Baby, Kiyohito Shirakami ♥ [Kings of Paradise]

OMG BABY KIYO OKAY HERE IT GOES WE’RE DOWN TO MY TOP 3. Kiyo is what would seem to be cold and indifferent. He would also be considered as strict and is like a robot who constantly works and doesn’t feel or show feelings at all. That’s what I thought at first too but his harsh words are actually very sweet in his own ways because he believes in you. He doesn’t want you to be sad and wants you to regain the confidence you lost. His story has inspired me to overcome my anxiety and do my best in the things I thought I couldn’t do. He would tell MC to decide on her own and he would grade her as well as to go beyond because she can. The story doesn’t just revolve around sweet stuffs tbh it also includes growth in both Kiyo and MC and it’s one of the best y’know. Kiyo also loves it when MC is being honest with him and is greedy with him as well. His ways have truly changed MC and you guys his story is really meaningful. And bro age doesn’t really matter here. I even forgot that Kiyo is younger than MC. hihi. 

2nd: My Precious Hot Ninja, Saizo Kirigakure ♥ [Samurai Love Ballad Party]

OKAY LAST TWO WOHOO HERE COMES MY BABE SAIZO!!!!! Okay so this guy is one of the best. He freaking write smuts HAHAHAHAHAHA kidding aside you guys saizo would seem like a cold, heartless killing machine but that’s because he was trained to be like that. He was trained in Iga to be a fearless killing machine that would carry out missions without feeling anything. But HAVE YOU GUYS EVER READ HIS POVS?!?!?!?! BRO THAT IS NOT HOW AN EMOTIONLESS KILLING MACHINE IS BRO HE’S SO SWEET AND PRECIOUS AND WOULD GIVE AWAY HIS LIFE FOR MC EVEN IF OFC WE DON’T WANT THAT! 1st and would probably be always my first, the King, Eisuke Ichinomiya ♥ [Kissed by The Baddest Bidder]

AND HERE WE ARE TO MY FOREVER BABE EVER SINCE IT WAS RELEASED. Yes you read it right, I just fell in love with him before the game was released because at that time I thought that game was too mature for my age when I based it off their trailer. But I still tried it hehe Eisuke is known as the “King”. He owns the Tres Spades Hotel and the head of the Ichinomiya Group. He’s aloof, bossy and isn’t the type to be full on honest but he has a kind heart. He’s DEFINITELY HANDSOME and is a great leader and businessman. Despite his heartless facade, women would always surround him and beg for his attention even if he wouldn’t pay attention to them. He’s easy to misunderstand for being cruel and ruthless, but don’t be fooled, he’s doing things for a good reason.During his first season tho, he thought of you as a pawn, just something that he owns to be used, but the character development after passing through that phase was definitely tear-jerking and heart melting, all in a good way of course.  Another thing that I love about Eisuke is how his stories understands and helps solving one of the social problems in the world, shaming people, both physically, emotionally and also mentally. It has helped not only me, but many other people out there to love and accept who they are and that they don’t need to change and just be themselves. I’m really glad that I got to meet and fall in love with Eisuke for this long. He has and will always have a special place in my heart. The moon is beautiful, Eisuke and it will always be. ❤

KIRI BABE ILY TOO!! You know I’m gonna slap down some Kyo breakdowns for you. -- (SHIO DON’T READ THIS YOU’RE NOT CAUGHT UP YET).

From Chapter 18 (Winter 2003, Part 3): 

“Kyo! Calm down! What’s wrong with you?!”

“Let me go!”

“What’s wrong?!”

Kyo struggled and struggled and struggled and, “EVERYTHING.”

He went limp.

And it was enough for the dam to break lose behind his eyelids.

Rough, raw, and jagged sobs pulled themselves out of Kyo that sounded more like screams than cries. He went limp in Kazuma’s arms, and could feel his knees seeping in the snow as Kazuma clung to him as if he were fine china.

They fell together, as Kyo collapsed from the inside out, the cemented wall he kept in front of his eyes and in front of his teeth crumbling into dust and powder and Kyo had never, never been so angry with himself as he was right now in this moment.

“Kyo,” Kazuma said, worried and careful and desperate all in one, “What’s wrong? Please. Please, I’m here. I’m right here.”

And Kyo wanted to say it was because he was getting locked up. He wanted to say it was because his “bright” and “full” future was getting cut off. He wanted to say what Kazuma wanted to hear. He wanted to give Kazuma the problem he wanted to solve. But he couldn’t.

With a mouth full of rubble and a stomach full of sand, Kyo couldn’t say anything else but the truth around a sick sob.

“I’m gay.”

This was absolutely one of my favorite moments to write. 

Yuki has always been a lot easier to write for me for whatever reason. Pursuit is mainly through his POV, and a good portion of it is his internalized emotions. When I write Yuki I always feel like I know exactly what’s going on. I know what he wants to say, how he wants to say it, and where the conversation will lead. 

But I don’t have that same ease with Kyo. He’s a lot more difficult for me to write. When something doesn’t feel “right” when I’m writing a scene with him, I can never really seem to pinpoint why. A weird balance gets created sometimes -- where Yuki I can always plan, but Kyo always tends to be my wildcard that sort of does whatever he wants, lol.  It makes writing Pursuit fun because I feel like even I don’t know everything that’s going on all the time, and am discovering things as I go (despite the fact that all the other main plot points have been planned out for ages). 

This is all a really longwinded way of saying that I didn’t know that Kyo was going to come out at the end of the scene. Tbh? I wasn’t even sure he was gay. I wrote this and the fight scene altogether. I always knew that fight was going to happen (I had planned it for AGES) and I was so hyped up on writing it but the scene wouldn’t end because Kyo skdjfh had something to SAY. Something was building up in him and I was writing kind of frantically as if trying to hear what it was. 

I know I probably sound insane, but this is one of my favorite scenes because it just felt completely overtaken by the character, and I got,,, real lost in creating it. After I had written it, I also kind of had to have a moment with Kyo -- sort of like sitting down and listening to him with Kazuma. What happened that you already knew this about yourself? What happened that this isn’t something you’re discovering -- this is something you’ve already been hurt by?

After thinking of all of that, that’s how Nameless got created. He wasn’t someone I had planned to write at all. He came to be literally after writing this chapter -- so I kind of just went with my instinct and fleshed out that part of Kyo’s story. And I’m really glad I did! Kyo’s past relationship with The Kid is one of my favorite things I got to write!

Hello,Jen! Hope you are doing well! I want to ask your opinion. Do not you think it was truly unfair to Kyo of being fighting with Akaza all alone even without mark? I know that it was how Gotoge-san decided but in the end almost all Upper Moons got beaten by at least 3 slayers ( and in most cases they had marks). Kyo almost defeated Akaza even without mark and all alone. He is just superhero! So I can not stop thinking about it. Sorry if I bother you by it.

Ooooh, bby. Biz and I have talked about this before. 🤔 So I’ll just try to rehash all the points that she reminded me of earlier. 😂

I’m extremely sad since Kyō was the one who was chosen as the sacrificial lamb to further the story. His death added more drama, and more of a drive for revenge, so that’s why it happened.

IMO, Kyō is the strongest pillar, since he almost killed Akaza by himself. And his breathing style is more for offense than defense, so that really helped with forming my opinion. (I swear it’s not bc I love him more than life itself 😂)

The match between him and Akaza was really tipped in Akaza’s favor, since Kyō was protecting so many people from getting hurt— not just himself.

Even Akaza said it himself, Kyō had close to the perfect form; so a little more refining and he would have been an even greater Hashira.

That and leaving Kyō alive wouldn’t have pushed Tanjirō to get better.

And if not for Kyō’s death, then the ball wouldn’t have started rolling. So the Training Arc wouldn’t have happened and all that; since a fire wouldn’t have been lit under everyone’s feet.
