You talk about food sometimes and it makes me so hungry (and a little envious of your skills). Do you wanna share some recipes with me?

aawww i wanna make a meal for u so bad one day !!!!! 🧡

my arfid's really bad these days, so theres only two or three items i can eat rn, so im suuuper exhausted from not getting proper food 😔👊🏼 it usually comes and goes in waves, so im hoping itll be easier with safe foods again asap !!!! 🧡

but one recipe ill share today is a really easy way to cheat some veggies inside the tummy without having to eat them bland!! its mostly a side dish i eat with rice and some tofu/meat (fried chicken and rice is rly good with this).

take any frozen veggies you like (theyre soo good to always have a stock of vegs). i usually go with like a mix of broccoli, cauliflower and carrots bcos they come in like, the same mixed bag (i dont like cauliflower except in this). i also often add green beans and then sometimes a mixed bag of root veggies like celeriac, beets, yams and turnips but i dont have those around often so literally. mix and match whatever u want/have in stock !!!

put them in a pan where you turn the heat on low to let them thaw. when theyre semi-thawed i like to take a scissor and cut them into smaller bites but thats just preference! (tho making sure theyre all of similar-ish sizes ensures even cooking) then when theyre all thawed, i take a ton of butter onto the pan and then medium-ish heat, pushing it around once in a while

while that cooks slowly, i start chopping an onion and like. 8-9 cloves of garlic !! (lmao, dont come for me i love garlic)

then take a measuring cup and mix soy sauce, thyme, chili (as little or as much as youd like), garlic powder, onion powder, paprika (any kind is fine) and some pepper. also add a sort of sweetener that you can handle! my friend uses oyster sauce but im allergic so i use sugar or honey. if youre feeling fancy, add a little sesame oil and some roasted sesame seeds, and then finally half of the garlic you chopped up.

by now the veggies should be throughougly warm and semi cooked, so you can turn up the heat just a little to let excess water evaporate if theres any left. add the onions and the rest of the garlic and mix around.

finally, pour half of the sauce into the pan and mix, let it cook a little and then add the final half of the sauce a few minutes before serving. and ur done!!!!!

the longest part is thawing it up. but i always make a giant portion of this, and then freeze it in dinner portions that i can just reheat on a pan or microwave another day. it takes me around 15-20mins total with the slow dethawing. a little longer if im also cooking something else and shifting my focus !!

Just gonna speak as someone who's been an avid shipper of Colly since the early days of this story it was actually the Tree Princess chapter where I started to getting a sense they'd be good for each other, but I was also of the mindset that they could be good friends. Then that one scene between Cup and Holly in Heela City happened and I changed my mind immediately and it's been like that ever since.

Their relationship is one of those where you can view them as platonic or romantic in nature and it really wouldn't change the dynamic between the characters that much which I appreciate.

I do feel like a lot of it was very subtle, and if you compare Cuphead's very blatant outward crush on Fanny to him getting hit with a 2-ton truck of realization of his love for Holly, it can feel a little like it's out of the blue. In Holly's case it really isn't, she had a brief crush on Cuphead actually before she got with Finley, but most people wouldn't know it unless the read through Inky Extras; which means that Holly's attraction towards Cup is overlooked because it wasn't in the main story so people were rightfully blindsided by it. I myself was actually taken aback too, because when I first got into IM I was still an avid Bendystraw shipper then and I didn't really care for Cupanny by any metric (and reading the comic made it worse lol) and then I read Inky Extras cause I was bored and I guess then it became a bit more obvious to me.

Though the whole Colly thing really cemented itself with me during the Labyrinth arc when they entered Cup's dream, because genuinely?? I was not expecting him to latch onto her like that, and if the gala chapters hadn't happened I think I would have eventually let that detail slide, but it did happen so I feel vindicated a bit lmao. Either way that moment was great, as well as the moment in TalentTown where Alice and Holly are talking and Alice points out how Cup is incredibly attentive to Holly, and then to get basically confirmation of that later when the Questers enter his dream? Ugh

Though I'm mostly talking about the ways that Cup being with Holly benefits him, it's the same with Holly. Before the whole...gala incident, he was kind of her rock, I think they both inherently trusted each other a little more than the others for comfort. Of course they had the others they talked to, but my honest opinion I feel like they gravitated towards each other a lot, and tended to be in tune with the other a lot more as well. Easily confiding in the other about things going on inside that they weren't sure how to talk about.

I do feel like being around Cup helped bring Holly out of her shell more. Which isn't to say the other questers aren't playing a role in that either tbc, but I do think he's a part of that more than the others. I'm not sure how to quantify it rn though, maybe it's just his energy she loves being around that's helped. But it's something about their dynamic I enjoy.

I wanted to rant more but I'm very tired and hungry now but I think this suffice for now lol

Woke up over 2 hours ago, walked the dogs, had water, using the cyclette rn. At this point Im really tired of being super positive every fucking morning and ruin everything in the evening. So idk, the plan for today is 460kcal but who knows what the hell my brain will push me to eat. I really had a bad breakdown last night, because I did really good until after dinner. But whats the point olin spending hours exercising, buying safe foods and cry over one biscuit if I do this? I keep going up and down the same 2kgs, and Im tired. Really tired.

honestly didn’t pay much attention to this show until halfway through season two—  always liked maya and was glad that they gave her more to do. going into season 3, i was excited for more character development &stronger storylines. however, by the end of  301 the dip in quality was glaringly obvious. a quick google search revealed that there was a new showrunner and, well, it showed. 

while the show had been going in a really good direction with balancing the screen time between andy and the other regulars, this season, the plot was all over the place. it was uber dramatic and just. so much happened just to happen? seemed like every other episode had a major event(deaths alone; ryan,rigo,pruitt?!!?). they were so frequent, it was hard to process. it was also hard to get invested as the characters themselves moved on(or were shown to have moved on, extremely quickly!) 

i enjoy the show for what it is and i have no delusions about broadcast tv shows (or shondaland productions, for that matter)but the suspension of disbelief.... i mean: a stabbing, a robbery, a shooting and a car crash? all in one episode? please! lmaooooo. drama for dramas sake is always boring and weakens the story.  

& as for the characters... .

everyone felt like a hollow version of themselves this season and it was hard to watch sometimes, actually. characters switched motivations /personalities for the sake of the current episode and i know this show is very ‘monster/emergency of the week’ but. some consistency! please! like—

maya: she’s always been determined and focused but they went so far with it this season, it was almost cartoonish. her competitiveness was hinted at in season 2 but she was always portrayed as self aware. ‘the beast,’ as she dubbed it to andy, was something she knew of and tried to contain, because she knew it could get out of hand. 

yet, in season 3 she suddenly forgets this and just. becomes the most power hungry/singularly focused person, ever. she goes after the captain position behind andy’s back, (citing andy’s emotional state, because of the death of her best friend as a reason she shouldn’t get the job?? huh. since when is maya this purely callous??!) she just doesn’t give af, suddenly, about andy at all, and goes for a job that she is hardly qualified for(she was lieutenant for like, a few months?)

and then after she gets the position, she just. loses all sense of reality? literally she was so unhinged(fun to watch but so much) and it was like. um?? maya has never been the uptight one (they've mentioned and depicted andy as being the one like this, multiple times!) and we know she knows how to have fun, so, for her to all of a sudden just. not know how to read the room? yeah okay. to make her so intense and severe, especially w the drills and training was, a choice. a bad one, on the writers part. like, i get that they needed her start as captain to be dramatic or whatever,  but there were ways to do that. and even the animosity with the team and her went so far, i just think that whole storyline was amazingly lazy, honestly.  

and the friendships!! andy and maya’s friendship is just, a mess. at this point they've spent more time at odds, and the idea that they're supposed to be best friends with this super close bond? yeah, i just... i dont buy it tbh. if they'd spent more time building up their connections and making us understand why they would be friends and showing them being there for each other past a few scattered scenes her and there? maybe. but so far, that hasn't been the case.  making that bond real, solidifying that friendship, would have made this conflict have more of an emotional impact. but doing it now? making maya ‘turn’ on andy, this soon and this drastically just. it made her seem like she was extremely jealous and had been waiting to pull the rug out from under andy all along. and also, why would they stay friends when, so far, maya has showed, time and time again, that she’s willing to let her wants/ambitions leech on her loyalty to andy? (jack thing, job thing, etc). although, it’s not like andy’s a good friend to maya either, she’s selfish and seems to like it when maya is in her corner but isnt always there for her. they went so far with the idea that maya was this coldly calculating asshole that she was almost a villain?? it was so silly to me.

and the traumatic home life plot they gave to maya was clearly their attempt at some adding nuance to her character and trying to explain why she would act the way she did, but to me? it fell flat. it was rushed, and they went from zero to 100(why did her mother come to talk about her divorce/abuse at maya’s job? like she was literally working? idgi. no boundaries lmaoo) 

and i actually relate and sympathize w maya a lot. and while i liked that they were exploring the many ways abuse can present itself, it was very... hm, ham-fisted. just super rushed and then wrapped up so quickly. they have, i think, written themselves into this dark place i fear they have no intention of exploring. 

and while i understand it, i hated how far they let maya go, especially because i don't feel they’ll adequately address it. they move on so quickly( maya was deaf for like half a season and then. she just. wasn't) and i hate the idea of her just being ‘fixed’. a relationship and an apology doesn't undo years of abuse, idc. also will they ever address maya’s um, thoughts about death??? because that was super heavy and not just something someone gets over? going to need for her to get actual professional help. that isn’t her girlfriend, like. asap. 

speaking of carina, i do like her and maya together a lot. big part of why i watch, ngl. but i need their relationship to be a lot more reciprocal. like, lets dial it back on the codependency, maybe. carina cant (and shouldn't have to) hold her up so much ! that’s not love. also maya needs to start being a good girlfriend. they started off that way, i know they can get back there. but like, we hardly got to see them settle into it, we got those cute 30sec clips of sweetness then maya was lashing out and cheating and it was like. wait a minute! what??? 

for s4, i want to see them working at reconciling—im talking, groveling, awkward in-between moments where carina isnt sure she can trust her. okay, tough conversations, hell, even jealousy because let's be real. maya working with jack is a lot for carina to just. take? i know i absolutely would not be happy about that, but i also wouldnt take maya back so... anyway! brushing over that would not just be a missed storytelling opportunity, but it would also be super unfair to carina and do a huge disservice to their relationship as a whole. as cute as they are, having cute moments with no real depth would get very old, very quickly.

carina: what can i say but-perfect, amazing, fantastic, WOW

seriously, carina is almost unrealistically perfect. she takes a lot and has been through the most (can they be nice 2 her this season? like just for fun) going forward, im going to need her to be more than a plot device to calm and soothe maya. i get that she was introduced as a love interest, but in season 4(as a season!!regular!!) that cant be all she is.

speaking of, it was really weird to me that she was promoted to station 19 and not greys because... what is a gynecologist going to do at a fire station? the general consensus seems to be that she’ll join warren’s PRT but like. she’s not a general surgeon so that’s a reach but, i want her around so ill buy it. i just want better and more for her tbh. not just screen-time, but also character development and depth! also friends! tired of carina being isolated, they did it on greys which. a waste! i meaaan, amelia was RIGHT. THERE. just look at the material! for s19, i want her, vic and travis to be friends or even just her and vic, like yesplease! i also want to know more about her and im tired of her being treated badly. like, i think society had progressed past carina being shitted on, thanks!

vic: my fave!!! they did so lazy by her this season ugh. she’s so charismatic and charming and just so good!! yet, her storyline was all over the place. we hardly got to see her sit with her grief  (spontaneous crying aside; barrett doss is so good!) she was just kind of... around. and that relationship w jackson. lol. it was so obviously for crossover potential and well. i didnt hate it or like it. actually, i was mostly indifferent. bored, even when they were onscreen together. i just didn't care and wanted more of vic, not vic and whoever. i know they're up in the air rn but i wouldn’t be torn up if he doesn’t come back. 

i want more for vic past just romantic entanglements. i know we’ve gotten a bit of her past, but i would like to see more! also, what about employment accomplishments? her artsy theatre friends? her family? just. more vic, please!!

she’s so fun and cool and when they let her, she shines. they need to let her! 

jack: my boy! so dumb, but i love him sm. he def needs like. major help, though lmao. and maybe it’s just me but im tired of his sex addict plot. like, we get it, but can we move on now? kthanks. they need to let him work on himself especially, the constant self sabotage. it's getting old. for ALL of them, actually, seriously, how many times can they all get in their own way.

andy: don’t really think about her. the mom storyline seems like it would be wonderfully dramatic, im intrigued. she and sullivan are cute, i guess. hope they make it.

ben: no major issues w his storyline, hardly remember it honestly. i liked the rapport he was building w vic and want them to explore that relationship more, its cute. 

travis: so funny and adorable, let him do more.

dean: loved him in all his entitled first born African son glory. i didnt so much love the baby plot but that always bores me. his sudden love for vic though. lol. since when? it def, came out of no where and while i really enjoy their friendship, to me, there is zero romantic chemistry there so i would prefer it if they just. stopped. lmao. also. the way he treated her because he could get a handle on his emotions? ridiculous. has humanity not like, gotten past the ‘he’s mean bc he likes you’ thing?? like grow up maybe?

and this isnt just about dean but like. are there not more single young people in seattle? why do they all have to sleep with the same 5 people. ik for the sake of plot, workplace relationships are easier but still. i think they should branch out. really. 

overall, i want better for all of them, and i think if the writers would just. take a moment and stop trying to tell so many stories in such little time, they could do better! also, whoever’s out there. please, enough w the crossovers! dont want to be forced to watch greys just to know what’s happening on 19. i get that they're in the same universe. it’s only mentioned every other episode. we. get, it. i liked what they did with private practice, it was like once every few seasons. and i know they won’t do that, but maybe, two a season. 

this is so much. but this how does have a ton of potential and i just really want it . like, get there.

two, maybe that ONE GIRL he tried to fuck with at the beginning of his career. while he knows he’s always been attracted to men, i think he would’ve convinced himself to at least try it out with a woman to make sure he wasn’t also interested in them, too. he’s a MASSIVE flirt and sweet talker, definitely made her feel special, but like... it never really went anywhere because... he just wasn’t into it, but didn’t wanna make her mad lmao. clearly ended up in a break-up and it could be both an ugly or pretty ending imo idk.

three, i’d DIE if other muses in famed were super into skating, or anime, or really any of his interests, too, and they’ve formed a “club” of sorts? just your local band o’ dirtbags who get together and fuck shit up a little bit here and there. i feel like this could be open to anyone who shares any of his interests tbh ??? maybe closer to his age is preferred, but honestly, i’m here to discuss whatever! i’m all for compromises and shit tbh.

five, a dance partner or two would be pretty cool tbh! he’s not a dancer first, so he likes to dance with other people who are passionate about it to learn from ‘em. he can handle his own with choreography, but doesn’t have his own distinct style, so he’d really appreciate all the help he can get in becoming better ig? all in the name of work!

six, maybe a person who fucking HAAAATES him because they find him really annoying and super douchey, so they just... avoid him at all costs. however, he kinda picks up on the fact that they avoid him, so he pesters them even worse, which doesn’t end well... ever. this is definitely more open to anyone tbh and we can plan as we go!

What is your physical and digital workspace like when you’re working on your story?

LOL it really depends on what stage I'm in of the process - My storyboarding space is at home, as comfortable as I can be, a beer and some food at the ready and pure silence. The cats have to be freshly fed, otherwise I'll be harassed and lose my headspace entirely LOL. I usually work on my story boards digitally, just at a very small scale, with my script/outline on my computer and working on my ipad! The double screen helps a LOT, although i would just print out the script if I had access to a printer, haha. When I'm working on the actual page itself, it's a very different story. I usually just try and work on it in tiny little batches during the day when I'm stuck at home, and usually work around the animals as best i can, lmao. Truthfully, I really prefer to be in a coffee shop when I'm working on finishing pages, it makes me so much more productive than i am in this house with so many things to take care of right in front of me, but, obviously, that's a bit difficult to do these days. ;; I usually reserve food and drink until after I pass a milestone in inking/sketching to help motivate me to keep going for as much as I can before taking a break, and I need some kind of music or video playing in the background to keep myself from being absolutely bored out of my mind. My shading process, since it's in black and white, is very easy and i can finish it in one setting, easy, no matter what I'm working with. I also work digitally for my pages, of course, although I don't need more than my ipad and clip studio for it!

I work almost entirely in the corner of my IKEA couch at home I used to work at a proper desk with a Cintiq, but when I switched to Procreate on an iPad, I migrated to the couch and surrounded myself with a nest of clothes and blankets and books and... here I am, bein' cozy. With terrible posture But when I was between jobs last year, I did rent a little coworking space down the street so I could get out of my pajamas and go get comic stuff done there. It was a godsend. I like drawing at my favorite coffee shop every so often too, but I tend to hide my work while I draw, and there, everyone can look over my shoulder The coworking space had a tall artist desk that was rarely used, so I often grabbed that one. Not cheap, but to stave off cabin fever, heck yes, worth it.

My old workspace was in the basement of my home in canada and it was always perpetually freezing even in the summer and i was frequently visited by spiders so my current workspace is a huge improvement in that regard. I do miss my old ergonomic desk chair though. I'm definitely not the kind of person who can draw in bed or on the couch. I need to be in workmode and having a designated space just for that is necessary for me to get in the right headspace for that.

Depends. I have a Cintiq Mobile Studio, so I can draw pretty much every where and sometimes in the oddest position, but most of the time I am on my desk with the cintiq hooked up to a second monitor so I don't have to look down so much.(edited)

For Wayfinders: Thumbnails are somewhere cozy and the only physical work. Me and Q sit and plan them out together. The rest of wayfinders are made on Photoshop, and flat colors in clip paint studio. In the world I would love a nice studio place in an office with others. During corentine I have been working from home, and I am not that good at it, being quite the extrovert. Before corentine I was in a artist residency where I worked on Wayfinders which had a workstation and all the programs we could need. It is so nice and me and Q are going to return there when it opens up again!

my current space is uh.... a bit better than my last one. I used to work on an old writers desk for a decade and I did most of my comic work sitting there cramped up with my desktop taking most of the space. Now I have an L shaped desk where I have my desktop on the shorter end. The longer end it's my pen, pencils, and watercolor stuff. my display tablet occupy the space at times so switching from digital and traditional without worrying about setup hassle is a lot better than what I dealt with before lol.

I'm glad the days I had to curl up and draw with no privacy are long gone now

I’ve got a little drafting table where I draw all my comic pages. I’m messy with my pens so they’re kind of strewn about until I start to lose them. Then I put them back. I’m not particularly neat. I spend most of the comic process off the computer, so most of my digital work is just on an iPad where I can sit anywhere. I try to keep good lighting around my drafting table and there’s always loose eraser shavings all over.

The top of the desk is a mess of mostly old bottles and cans, pencils, incense ash, and my old tarot deck. I love this setup dearly. This is the first time I've ever had my own desk space, much less a space I can decorate or leave as messy as I want. Got my own art up on the walls with sticky tack and all! Also the cat's scratching post is directly behind me, because we've learned the cat won't use it unless it's as in the way as possible. What can ya do, lol.

I got spoiled with an adjustable desk. It is six feet long, and has a whiteboard top for noodling with dry erase markers

my main computer is set up on an adjustable stand so it floats over the desk, and then I have my cintiq, which we tried to mount on a similar stand but then it was just too heavy

I keep my dice collection nearby because fidgeting helps think things through sometimes

and rolling to make odd decisions never hurts

lately during the quarantine I've been sharing the office with my spouse so we've had to establish rules over when it's okay to bug each other(edited)

oh yeah and we also have a whiteboard installed in the office, and it rules!(edited)

Mine is pretty simple: I have a laptop that's long stopped being portable and is now mostly just sitting at my desk at all times and a 19 inch Ugee as my display. I usually keep a lot of stuff on top of my desk, but it's mostly just a mess because I have been using it for work too for a while now

I suppose I'll talk about my setup too :) My main setup is where I do digital art. I share an office with my SO, so we both have workspaces on opposite walls from each other. I work on a corner desk that holds my beefy computer, two monitors, and a Huion Kamvas GT-191. That's where I draw my comic and pretty much everything else done digitally. Ngl, it's a mess right now. I have comic notes and location floor plans in sketchbooks and DnD character sheets spread out all over the surface, and random pens and sticky notes. In the corner of the room, we have a nice large-format printer where I produce prints for conventions. I actually sketch my pages on an iPad pro in Procreate, so during the sketch phase, sometimes I'll just bundle up on my couch and do it, or before quarantine, sometimes I'd sketch on the go. My other workspace (which hasn't gotten much love as of late tbh) is a drafting table in the corner of our living room. I keep a tabletop easel on it and my Copic markers, as well as whatever I'm working on at the moment. (RN it's some ink washes.) The drawers hold all my ink, pencils, erasers, etc. Next to the drafting table is where I keep all my large charcoal, graphite, and oil pastel drawings (mostly school projects), and my large paintings. Other than that, I have a nifty little cart where I keep painting supplies :) I will say, this setup is by far an enormous improvement from my previous setups.

i mean, in general, it’s just good strategy to try to learn not to compare yourself to anyone else / not compare your life to theirs. b/c you can’t!! there’s no valid point of comparison and mostly it’s gonna make u feel bad abt some shit so just. don’t compare. but realistically sometimes you can’t help it and sometimes ppl talking abt how they have something you don’t, like a good mood or money or something good happening to them, is gonna bum you out just cuz its a Reminder. smh

like there’s a lot of Positive Year End Memes going on today about “what good shit happened to you this year” and “what good shit is gonna happen to you next year” and like, as someone who’s just livin that depression life and has had some fuckin crap years since two thousand whenever and is rn specifically expecting some real rough shit from 2019 and im trying not to think too much abt it thanks....it’s just not the most totally pleasant experience having it on my tl. it’s not horrible either!! i’m weirdly okay today!!! but it’s a bit :/// at times

and like even when im having a bad day? i do like to know cool things are happening to cool people. it can both be happy And a bummer lmao like. it does cheer me up knowing things are going right for some people even if not for me!!! i like that shit. and sometimes i’m the one posting in a Good Mood way when i see other ppl are having a bad time. and like, you know it can be weird, there’s not really a Real Answer since no platform has “mood filters” ppl can use lol, you gotta feel free to talk abt Good Moods and Bad Moods alike.

like im never like “eegh the internet is destructive and social media is unhealthy” like—it’s just different and has different strengths / failings / framework etc!!! Sarcasm doesnt always work in text like it would in person coz you don’t have tone of voice, but we make up other ways to convey tone thru Net Grammar. and in person if someone was sad you wouldn’t go up to them and start talking about how great YOU’RE feeling, but when u do Good News announcements in social media text / email text / letter text, sometimes it might make someone temporarily sadder and thats not a failing on your part, it just Happens. just a thing!!

like hell im in the xmas haters club, i dont care about the day of, i had a decent time on the 25th just fuckin around online!! but i also Feel why xmas depresses ppl coz like. i don’t like my parents and my siblings are basically more of Friendly Acquaintances and i don’t consider myself having a family & the best thing in my life is NOT having to be around that, but as an abstract concept its like hmm yeah wish i Did have a cool family i got to spend time with!! sucks to suck i guess. wish i was eating a lot today and shit. oh well

like!! yknow!! i’ve been hungry enough at several points that even seeing pix of food felt awful enough to make me cry a bit. did i think ppl were at fault for posting hq pix of wedge cut fries!! no. did i wish they Hadn’t posted it, yes. did i Know that the problem was that i wasn’t able to eat enough and not that other ppl were and that them Not posting abt food wasn’t gonna help? obvs!! etc etc. not a perfect 1:1 point of comparison, but sometimes You’re Painfully Underfed and you just can’t avoid being a lil upset by someone’s food content.
