I understand people got mad at Ghost Game because it didn't have any plot and kind of punished the viewers for being invested. I understand, I really do. I mourn what Ghost Game could have been as much as the next person.

But like... can we collectively as a fandom stop leaving comments on art and fics that say "I like this art but hate Ghost Game"? Like I get it. People are frustrated with it. But the person making the art... probably likes Ghost Game and doesn't need the negativity. They know Ghost game wasn't ideal, they don't need others to tell them. That's just rude.

It's serving the passive aggressive "I hate this ship but like the art" comments from back in the day.

For people that absolutely positively HAVE to say something negative about Ghost Game, make your own post. Complain about it as much as your heart desires on your own blog... but please stop dragging down people just having fun with your negativity.

there's a lot of chronically ill people who have had much different experiences than I have being disabled and doing work (which is what my og post was based on, like what I'm living through right now) and I think that is actually really interesting, especially with a character like remus lupin where there's so many different interpretations of how he could be. I lovveee hearing different people's thoughts and experiences because.. idk I think it's important!

people who think rjl would have really good grades have never been chronically ill and had to miss school consistently because of it. I'm sure he was smart! The main reasons I block people are gif reposting, nasty & unwanted tag commentary (which I get to decide if it is btw) bot icons: please customise them if you're not a bot that responsibility is on you not me to check if you're legit and the most important: simply because I think you're goddamn annoying.

Fyi, I get hundreds of bots in my notes daily and sometimes human error can occur and people get accidentally blocked. I've had many people instead of sending me abuse, send me a dm and say 'oh btw I realised you blocked me & I don't know why? I'm a fan of your blog etc would consider unblocking me?'

We've then spoken and unless it's something I really do not want to unblock them for or can't remember why I did, I give them the benefit of the doubt and unblock and all is well.

Maybe, just maybe, if you had come to me in a kinder manner it would have been a different outcome but alas you chose violence instead.

As much as I hate the type of super religious people that are like- “you can’t watch spongebob, it’s satanic” -I also really hate the type of atheists that feel the need to prove every religious person wrong.

Like I just saw a video where the topic was that, if G-d exists, why doesn’t he stop bad things from happening? I personally struggled with the same question a while back and i found a good answer in a book called “When Bad Things Happen to Good People” by Rabbi Harold Kushner, which got recommended to me when I first started looking into converting to Judaism, so I just commented something along the lines of:

"Only partially related, but if you're struggling with this subject but still want to have faith/follow a religion, [Kushner's book] puts forward the idea that G-d is loving but not necessarily 'all powerful' how we think of it---he can't interfere with rules that he's already put in place, like gravity and free will. I'm not explaining it very well, but it's a good read and I recommend it if you're interested in the subject."

I just figured that the book recommendation could help someone the way it helped me, but no one had to interact with my comment if they didn't want to---so it was harmless, right?

Then some random girl starts commenting under my recommendation, basically trying to debate me on what I said and whether or not G-d is real based on what I said about him not necessarily being all powerful, just based on the ideas put forth in Kushner's book. Saying random shit like- "did he or did he not preform miracles in the old testament?" -and- "oh so you think him parting the red sea was a metaphor?" -to try and have some "gotcha" moment on me.

I even told her that I wasn't explaining the book very well and that, if she wanted to, she could give it a read if she was actually interested in the subject---but I impressed upon her that she 100% didn't have to read it or believe the same things I did or believe in G-d at all, it was her choice and none of my business.

Still, this girl was adamant about arguing with me and kept being like really smartass passive aggressive, like the type where they act like you're stupid, and I just...I genuinely don't know what the fuck her problem was. I tried asking her why she felt the need to "debate me" and be rude under a comment she could've just ignored, but she just responded with- "you people will find any excuse" -and like??? What???

People just need to mind their own business, frankly.

If you're only commenting on a fic to ask for an update or worse, to be passive-aggressive about wanting an update, then please do both yourself and the writer a favor and don't comment at all.

Saying things like "Can't wait for the next update!" as part of a comment about how you enjoyed the chapter is one thing, but just going into the comments and being like "Where's the update?" or "You haven't finished writing the next chapter yet?" or something similar is not only rude, but also I ASSURE you it only serves to make the writer anxious about writing at all.

Fic writers are not content creators. We're not robots. We're real people with careers, families, and other irl responsibilities. Writing is something I do in my thirty minutes before I go to bed to wind down from the day. Whatever I want to write that evening is what ends up getting written.

So by making me anxious and putting pressure on me to update a fic, especially in that passive-aggressive way that so many people do, all you've ensured is that when I open up my folder that evening to see what I feel like writing, my eyes will completely skip over that WIP that I got the rude comment on that day because I Feel Bad about it and now I don't want to even look at it.

So please, just follow the golden rule of "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

the comics are hard to get into because it's hard to know where to start, and there's so much content that people are able to fill themselves in by reading fanfic or watching something on tiktok or seeing posts about it on here. perhaps instead of telling people they're stupid for not realizing your favorite character is being mishandled by others, you could write up a list of your favorite comics and/or how, if you could read them for the first time again, you would order your favorite comics to get the best reading experience. and also write your own fanfiction and draw your own fanart or make a passionate post, answer questions politely

Hello! I love all your AU's, and wanted to know if you still take animorph au ideas? I figured that you most likely have a big backlog of them and didn't want to add to it if they aren't wanted

Oh lord, I don't know. I guess? Like, the backlog thing is spot-on. As is the fact that I think I answer about 1% of the AU requests I receive, just because I get so many and so many of them are outside my expertise. So I haven't explicitly closed my askbox to AU requests, but I do have 6 in progress and want to try to finish at least 3 of those before I start any others.

Also: I think most people know this, but it takes me a long freaking time to write those AUs. I think my fastest-ever turnaround was about a week for the controller-Naomi one, and the slowest was over six years (!!!) for the Maximum Ride crossover. Most AU requests gotta stew for a couple months before I have an answer I like.

So like, if in the span of a month I get asks like "what if the Animorphs were in a world with no shrimp?" then "I guess my idea sucked, but I was wondering about an AU without shrimp" then "Sorry for bothering you but I had this idea about no-shrimp Animorphs" I will ctrl+F "shrimp" and delete every instance from my inbox. And then delete any half-drafts I might've started. Because that crap is demoralizing as hell. And it'd suck every iota of joy out of writing fan fiction if it could.
