I was gonna post smth like "uwaaa are eye color headcanons still cool... would anyone wanna see..." but then remembered I do what I want! So

Scout: Blue eyes I'm sorry. I think "people with blue eyes waiting for you to comment on their blue eyes" memes work for him. Also I think Jerma's got blue eyes and they're the same guy so it works

Soldier: Really any eye color goes for him bc visible eyes aren't really part of his design, but I think that kinda muddy brown-green color would work. Mostly just bc I think it'd be funny if this guy specifically had basically camo-colored eyes. His army green orbs

Demo: This is like the only guy whose canon eye color I care about. Demo's eye is BROWN it is not green or gold or yellow or whatever, it's brown. I have honestly gotten to a point where I think any insistence that it's another color or that it would be "cooler" if it were another color is offensive

Heavy: Blue, but I like to differentiate them from Scout's blue by making them Very pale. I think it works with his whole Large Foreboding Siberian Man thing. The kind of eye color really best described as "icy"

Engie: Another one I don't really think too much about bc his eyes are always obscured, but I think especially if he's blond they should be brown. Lighter brown eyes with dark blond hair look nice, it looks nice in the New Mexican desert and it looks nice surrounded by glowing yellow Australium machines. He seems like a warm colors kinda guy

Medic: Blue again sorry. There has never been a man who better encapsulates the "blue-eyed husky stare" thing. Absolutely terrifying. I like to differentiate his from Scout's and Heavy's by making the color very bright. Bc yknow. Medic? Bright? Cheery? Giggly? It works

Sniper: I am a brown-eyes Sniper tf2 truther and will be until the day I die. It works! And they're dark too, basically black. You can't really see it behind the colored glasses, so I always like to make someone noticing his eye color a very intimate thing. It's fun

Spy: It seems So obvious to me that Spy should have brown eyes, especially with the duller and darker reds of his design. It just looks nicer, in my opinion

Pauling: I like the green eyes but I also think brown eyes would be nice. Maybe gray. Blue is a no-no

Admin: I think the green eyes work! They feel sharp and distinct within her mostly purple, pink, and red color palette. She feels like she should have eyes that stick out. Yellow is another good option

Hale: He barely has a canon eye color but I think a brown so light it's almost orange or yellow would work for him. Maybe straight-up yellow eyes, I do love that visual Australium effect

OKAY SO. there are a few things at play here so im just gonna go through them one by one

for jace:

jace's love of fine things. this is practically canon to me. he loves his expensive green velvet couch, his cashmere maroon sweater, his veuve clicquot brut yellow label champagne, etc etc he is soooo into the finer things in life. hence, lingerie. lots of lace and silk and ribbons. LOVES the texture and the way they feel against his skin.

jace's desire to be desired. have you seen that quote from robber bride by margaret atwood? jace read that and said "but that's good actually??" he likes knowing other people, ESPECIALLY porter, find him attractive, that they Want him, that they're watching him put on the show of a lifetime. and lingerie is a way to make himself more enticing to watch

jace genderfuckery hours. i think @zukkacore did something to my brain with dyke jace and now its all i can think about. what IF he got to dress up a little bit.

my theory of jace's sexuality includes him using sex as a tool to get what he wants and well. playing into porter's whole masculinity neuroses where he's this Big Strong Man who is Conquering and Ravishing the Weak Pretty Sex Object is a great way to manipulate him into things. the amount of presents he's wrung out of porter by asking for them in a post-coital afterglow is insane.

It had been a while since she had seen the angel. Perhaps he felt bad about what he did, and disappeared. But that couldn’t be the case; no matter where she went, she couldn’t shake the feeling of eyes staring at the back of her head. Maybe she was just paranoid, she was, she had to be, being by herself in a small apartment.

At least she thought she was by herself, before she had opened the door to said room. She was exhausted, waiting in line at a grocery store with low social battery was not helping her mood. Her mood shifted from exasperated to terrified as she heard humming coming from her bedroom. She set the groceries on the floor, and silently crept towards the bedroom.

Her hair was standing on end, she could feel a pit forming in her stomach; she crept too close before realizing that she didn’t grab anything that could be used as a weapon. The humming stopped, and she froze dead her tracks; breath hitched. She didn’t know whether to run or hide so she remained frozen.

“What’re you doing?” A deep voice spoke from behind. She whipped around, eyes wide with fear. The voice came from a man, dark skinned. His pale blue hair covering his eyes. A navy blue leather jacket and blue jeans, his hands in his pockets. He was hunched over, staring at her, so tall he barely didn’t touch the ceiling.

“Get out,” she spoke slowly. “Before I call the cops.” She tried to sound stern and threatening, but the man just scoffed and stared at her; as if he hadn’t heard her at all.

“Y’dont gotta be all serious, y’know? B’sides, ya’d look real stupid calling’ the cops on yer roommate, girlie.”

“How did you-“

“I can read yknow, I saw yer listin’. If ya wanna know how I got into yer place it’s real simple,”

He leaned in closer, and whispered in her ear, “Ya don’t become a shoulder demon without learning shrink magic.”

A demon. She felt her heart drop, and her head get fuzzy. She stared up at the demon, as he got further away and everything faded to black.

“Nice of you ta finally wake up, shortstack!”

The demon’s voice boomed. She yelped as she covered her ears and flinched. Where was she? The last thing she did was black out staring at his face… she looked up.. and up, up, up.

Panic set in at the sight of an impossibly huge man, no, demon, staring down at her; eyes pure yellow with black slit pupils eyeing her form. She stumbled backwards, barely registering his black platform boots being inches from where she stood.

“Where ya goin’, shortstack? I haven’t even introduced myself yet!”

His sudden speaking made her fall on her butt, he either didn’t know how loud he sounded to her, or likely didn’t care. She didn’t have time to think about it, however, as a giant hand came towards her faster than she expected.

He snatched her up easily, his right hand keeping her in his fist while his left hand remained in his pocket.

The rapid change in height did nothing to calm her nerves, everything got farther away before she was hovered uncomfortably close to his face. All she could see was dark skin, those yellow cat-like eyes staring at her, and a playful grin forming on his face.

He was having fun, staring at her form that was shaking like a leaf in his fist. Humans were always so shocked meeting demons, and shrinking them down a notch was always a fun pastime.

“I don’t believe we’ve been acquainted quite yet,” he spoke. It was softer, only because he wasn’t actively yelling. “The name’s Remulus, but you can jus’ call me Rem. I’ll be your shoulder demon, bringer of temptation, from this day forward, shortstack.”

“Precious,” she spoke.

“My name is Precious. Don’t call me shortstack.”

She tried and failed not to waver her voice as she spoke.

Rem snorted, and then chuckled, and then laughed, throwing his hands up, Precious included. She let out a scream she was mentally holding back as she was thrown directly into the air, almost onto the ceiling, and came crashing down onto a soft surface. The wind was knocked out of her, she was shaking as she gripped the palm of Rem’s hand for dear life.

She glared at him, the fear she felt replaced with anger.

“What the hell is wrong with you?!”

“Sorry shortst- ahem- ‘Precious’, but you humans are so funny when you’re so small and try to act tough! As if I already didn’t smell your fear before you came in the room~”

He paused for a second, then brought her closer to his mouth.

“Your fear smells delicious by the way. Makes me wonder what it would taste like.”

Precious felt her blood run cold. He wouldn’t. He wouldn’t do exactly what she had feared would happen since the day she met that angel.

Her world shifted in the blink of an eye. Suddenly staring down a dark abyss of blue flesh and drool, she did the only thing she could do; freeze up and fall face first onto Rem’s tongue. It took her another second to register what was happening, and then immediately begin fighting the fleshy muscle away.

She had also registered that was less light, because he was closing his mouth. She scrambled, trying to run but it was no use. He pinned her to the roof of his palette, licking his lips and sealing her in. She fell back onto the ‘floor’ with a splat. Crying in desperation, she kicked his tongue as it tried to keep licking her

“LET ME OUT YOU BASTARD!! I’ll FUCKING — MMPH!!”

Her shouts muffled as he pinned her to the roof of mouth again.

She once again landed on his tongue, and she was suddenly lurched backwards. He’s swallowing, he’s actually going to eat me. Desperately trying to grip any surface, but it was no use.

Her mind felt fuzzy again, was she in another free fall? Maybe this wouldn’t be that bad, maybe should would wake up in a grassy field again. She tried to reassure herself as everything faded to black again..

Everything smelled like rain. The sound of rain pattering against a window woke her up. She was soaked. It was pouring. She stumbled to her feet. She saw a small building in the distance, and didn’t hesitate to sprint towards it.

Getting closer, the building was more like a tiny cabin in the middle of the woods. She didn’t have time to think about the faint smell of rotting wood or hint glimpse of cobweb.

It was cold, but being in any shelter was better than being out in the storm.

This is his stomach, she thought.

I didn’t know that they could create buildings.

“Of course I can create buildings! It’s my body after all!”

She jumped.

“How.. how can you-?”

“Ha! Humans are so easily impressed! It’s a lot easier to hear you through telekinesis, shortstack. And before ya ask no, I’m not lettin’ ya out. I gotta confirm somethin’ first..”

coming to this blog every now and then, something that always intrigued me was your small design choices in these characters.

like Scourge's eyes for instance, this ethereal blue that has these drops of yellow in them. Reminds me of these pale rays of the sun glistening upon a crystal blue lake. They are also constantly in slits, unlike the other Sonic characters. Why?

Then there's King Sonic, who looks more composed and orderly than the other Scourge counterparts except for that one quill sticking out. If one were to try to pluck it out — figuratively speaking— I can see something unraveling underneath that almost solid image he’s crafted for himself. Or is merely a subtle way to say to himself and his kingdom, he’s Sonic, not his father?

THIS IS FEEDING MEEEEEEE IM SO GLAD U THINK MY DESIGN CHOICES ARE INTERESTING.. that means a lot bc jesus christ i studied character design for 10 years so im glad at least some of that ended up paying off lmfao

to answer ur questions:

my design choices boil down to headcanons basically! for example, i give scourge a bit of yellow-green in his eyes to reflect the chaos energy he absorbed from the master emerald--same thing with his sclera, if you look closely theyre not white and theyre also a yellow-green :) and i gave him slitted pupils because i guess i wanted his post-master-emerald-transformation look to have a slightly more unhinged look to it--after all, it gave him shark teeth, so why wouldnt it give him something like that as well?

as for the quill on king sonic, it was partially bc i wanted to still connect him to the regular scourge design i have with all the messy quills--just to show thats still the same guy, yknow? but also youre right, in terms of reflection of his character personality, it shows that while he is an orderly king, theres a small part of him that maybe isnt so put together

originally i had him be... Yknow... a normal pale grey tabby (like sunfish but tabby) but lincoln has an orange shirt so i wanted to somehow work ginger into his pelt aswell (considering his sisters follow their canon color codes as well as cat pelts can do - lisa, leni and lynn sr, all green in some way, are silver with greenish tint, lynn is dark ginger for her red color, luan is golden since she's yellow, etc)

Description: Harsh and Prideful ginger tabby she-cat. She has lost everything, but still keeps going. Rumors among apprentices say that she used to be mates with Flightwing, but he left her when Flufftuft joined the clan.

Side Story:

Leaf-bare was a cursed season. If it werent for the shelter of trees above, she certainly would've been buried in snow. Next to her belly was a squirming kit, nestling away in her fur and falling into a deep slumber.

"How in starclan's name am I going to explain this..." Owlclaw hissed to herself, "Breezefur is a thunderclan cat, and if..."

She trailed off and uncurled a bit, looking at the patchy orange-furred kit at her side. The she-kit let out a frustrated mewl at the movement and tried nestling further into her fur.

"If Breezefur brought Hawkkit back to thunderclan camp, theres a risk of Icestar killing her." Her heart sunk at the thought. "But if I show up with a kit, I'll be bombarded with questions or told to leave for having relations with another clan."

She trembled from the cold and from hunger. How long had she laid in the snow now? It was nearly sundown.

Pawsteps crunched in the snow nearby. With a tense glance, she spotted a blue-gray pelt, followed by a pale yellow one. Ones that she knew belonged to her clanmates.

"Hurry up, slowpoke!" Flufftuft's meow was boisterous enough that it could probably be heard all the way back in the old territories.

"Fluffffyyyyy!" Flightwing dragged out her name, only to pause, sniff the air, and narrow his eyes. "Do... do you smell that?"

Her mentor was Daisytail(minako tomori) and she earned her warrior name for her perserverance and courage.

She met breezefur at the gathering when they were apprentices, but they would often see each other on border patrols as well.

Design notes; orange :3. Also, while it doesnt show in her WCUE design, she has really fluffy and curly fur. Like the typical overdramatic wc design fur, the fur between her ears is longer and spills over her face.

For the homies who haven't followed for a long time, why the quest for swampweed milkweek seeds?

So I’m currently at the library so if this answer is lame I may go into more detail once I get home but the long and the short of it is Swamp Milkweed Pretty Pink Color. Long version below.

Summer ~2015 (I think): volunteering at the zoo, making and selling seed bombs to raise money for conservation projects. Some Karen sasses at me for encouraging people to make butterfly gardens/plant butterfly friendly plants (??????) and basically says ‘You probably don’t even so how dare you imply I, a mother of 3, should.’ I take that as a challenge.

Fall and Winter 2015: start collecting seeds and stuff from whatever stores sold them cheap for a butterfly garden. Start learning about how important milkweed is for monarchs. Goal to obtain Any Milkweed is a go.

Spring 2016ish (I think): I find milkweed for sale at garden stores! This is Tropical Milkweed (Asclepias curassavica), and most of it is red and orange. While googling I find a Really Nice All Yellow Variety and my goal becomes Obtaining Yellow Milkweed.

Spring 2017ish: obtain yellow milkweed. At this point I have like 7ish tropical milkweed plants in my garden.

Spring either 2019 and 2020: at this point I have been growing milkweed and other flowers pollinators like for awhile when I learn that UH OH. Tropical Milkweed is invasive in my area! And I really shouldn’t be growing it! (One could argue the greenhouses in my area shouldn’t be selling it in the first place and I’d agree but I digress.) In my quest to figure out what species of milkweed ARENT invasive in my state—native, even—I find swamp milkweed and its the prettiest plant I’ve ever seen. Fuck yellow tropical milkweed, this plant is BRIGHT bright pink, beloved by caterpillars, beloved by pollinators, and smells like VANILLA? I want it now.

Thus begins the quest to grow it (and other species but mostly swamp milkweed) from seed. It never works out.

Spring 2020: accidentally steps on seedlings. Fatality.

Spring 2021: seeds were cold stratifying in the fridge but were left out of the fridge too long, sprouted in the bag for three days, and were weak as hell when I finally put them in. Forgot to water. Fatality.

Spring 2022: seeds are left in cups for way too long, forgot to water because Senior Project, cold stratification of next batch doesnt go well. Fatality.

Spring 2023: seeds mold while cold stratifying, germination rate is ‘one out of 21’ and then that one dies because I forget to water. Fatality.

During that whole while I’m thinking to myself ‘ok I suck at growing these from seed maybe they sell them in greenhouses and plant stores?’ And no they don’t. Until earlier this year when I finally find them being sold at native plant festivals (wherein which I arrive too late to my town’s once-yearly native plant festival and they’re sold out of milkweeds before the 30 minute mark of a 5 hour event YES I’m still mad about that) and other gardening festivals (shout out to the lady selling swamp milkweed at the zoo’s garden festival AND the honeybee festival) and ONE garden store near my friend’s house by the beach called Earthworks.

There are other milkweeds I am questing after now because there’s like 21-22 native milkweeds in Florida and my goal is to grow as many different varieties as possible (which is HARD because NO ONE SELLS THEM except for at this once a year plant sale and they don’t have enough to last THIRTY MINUTES YES IM STILL MAD). Currently I’ve also got my eyes set on sandhill milkweed (Asclepias humistrata) and Redring milkweed (whos latin name I don’t remember right now). Also trying to figure out why pictures of swamp milkweed are Bright Ass Vibrant Pink but all the ones I’ve gotten and that my garden server has are pale ass strawberry milk pink but yknow.

Since I’m trying to start a career in animation I’ll likely end up moving to Southern California sooner or later, and all my knowledge about swamp milkweed will be Fucking Useless. But worry not! I have another milkweed to obsess over that grows in Cali! Heartleaf Milkweed (which might be Asclepias cordifolia but I could be remembering that wrong) is GORGEOUS and it has the growth habit like Sandhill in a sense but the flowers are droopy and VELVETY PURPLE and the leaves are HEART SHAPED (kinda) so yknow. Vibes.

hmm so the bag is brown right but sometimes he draws on it for no reason (like blush or angry eyebrows or he puts stickers on it skdjksf)

and then the shorts are also like light brown and he wears pretty tall socks that change but are most likely mismatched.

and then the shoes are just some basic shoes idk but they light up yknow. so he can run around and be funky if he so prefers.

and then. i’m kinda undecided on the shirt?? it’s very baggy probably yellow but like soft yellow not like bright yellow or maybe some pretty green like light sage green. he is sometimes also weird about his hands. so most of the time. they’re in his sleeves. i’ve never actually tried to colour him in this is just like my vision.

and he is very pale and his knees are bruised so it’s like a pop of colour almost. the band aid on his knee is probably also some fun bandaid most of the time.

anyway so he’s like kinda soft? like lowkey neutral but in a pretty way with bright socks and lit up shoes
