Once again a completely self indulgent post, sorry for the delay got a 40° fever and fell like 3 times during the making of this BUT IM FINE NOW! These yans really are out to kill me after all I've put em though lmfao

So imagine, somewhere after chap 5 where vil and you have gotten to know eachother way better since the VDC. You're all and up thinking about the music you loved back from your own home, wishing you just could hear it once again. You basically had everything memorised, but it's not just the same!!

So, taking the matter into your own hands, you contact vil about wanting to stage a musical and if he perhaps wanted to be the "main villian" (aka both the main character and your favorite character). Vil, for once, isn't upset about being the main villain, on the contrary he's ecstatic! He can barely keep his mask up as he tells you that he would LOVE more than ANYTHING to be Riliane...

You're quick to thank him and hug him, him of course savoring every second of it. You're quick to get to work to writing the script/lyrics from memory along with sewing vils dress for him (it's like several dates over at ramshackle for him because he gets to be in such close vicinity with you alone.

The play is an absolute success, vil gives his absolute ALL, just for you, and ONLY for you. He doesn't cate who else is seeing the damn musical, all he cares about at this point is your gave on him and your approval.

He feels your gaze on him for the entirety, too blissful about being the center of your attention to even hold up his social persona incase anyone is filming after the musical. He just can't function correctly when you look at him, when you smile at him, when you do anything really. He's smitten, down bad, in love and everything inbetween.

Ace and Deuce can't stand how Vil is blatantly flirting with you, resulting in them trying to drag you away after the show (only to be stopped by vil, he has charmed you during this performance, and of course he shows in that he has a gift for you back at his dorm.

The gift being smothering you in his love and kisses, almost some sort of cuteness aggression as he can't stop himself. The blood sweat an tears you put into this and how you chose him to be the main character almost moved him to tears after all, you had to be rewarded <3

Not long after the musical, people had sent their gossip photos around to several accounts on magicam as to get some juicy drama our of the megastar. But, at this point, vil is too smitten with you to even care about his social status anymore. He doesn't care about magicam or being better than niege liek he used to. He only cares about you and your approval.

Still a short post, but I hope you all enjoy! I love love LOVE the musical, and recommend yall give it a litsen! The evillious chronicles on YouTube, especially the newer one (Karen aka the girl who plays riliane is just so much more vil coded imo). Anyway hope yall enjoy :P

I was just writing a fic, ya know, as you do, when I started having Harry describe the houses to Draco instead of the other way around because plot reasons and as I was writing I like... paused, looked at the houses in Hogwarts, and realized they made no god damn sense.

From a thematic standpoint, Slytherins were always going to be ostracized and vilified from the base design. Like if you actually think about the houses what do you see at first? 4 predators. Okay, so far so good. Until you realize two are mammals, one is avian, and the last is a reptile. First problem: why are there two mammals and two completely different animals? It would make more sense if it was two v two, not two v one v one. Not only that but all the other 3 house animals could literally kill a snake. There is nothing a snake could actually do against a lion, a badger, or an eagle. In fact badgers and eagles literally eat snakes!

if JK wanted to have like an actual interesting dichotomy while still having different animals, she could have picked another bird like the burrowing owl. plus owls fit the idea of cunning more than snakes do (snakes believe it or not are not that smart, have you seen the tiny snake trying to eat a toad situation?)

I know part of the reason she actually picked the snake was cause "oooo snakes eeeeeevil" and also biblical bullshit (which i stupid and extremely western because everywhere else in the world they are seen as healers) but she could have been more interesting with the house mascot picking. like why not 4 mammals? or one of each type of animal? (birds, mammals, reptile, and fish, this would have worked just as well with the whole "dorm underground" thing too with one dorm being partially under the lake)

In snakes' defense, a highly venomous snake could definitely take on any of those other 3 animals with deadly results (woot slytherin pride). But yeah. I definitely think she went with snake bc of the biblical connection with evil - and also the fact that reptiles tend to be associated with traits that are more cold/calculating. The problem is she kinda undercuts herself bc she makes Slyther in the Out Group that is outnumbered by the In Group and kinda treated unfairly so it makes them seem more liek sympathetic underdogs than she intended.

 ( for context , this was originally a comment on this post but i tend to be long winded / i could tell it was gonna get long so i decided to just maek my own post bsdjhgfkjdhgja . also abuse discussion tw for tha following + tha post i linked to , as well as spoilers for Princess Tutu )  

 ive made my peace with rue and fakir-- well , not 100% completely absolutely , but ive come a long long way from where i was when i first watched tha show , where i hated fakir SO much , and i had more sympathy for rue but wasn't fond of her either . in fact , where before i was adamant that i hated fakir , i can say i actually liek him now . didnt think i would ever get to this point lol . and i liek rue as well , though her turn around came easier for me          

 i feel like i would have warmed up to them a lot faster if liek . they got ANY consequences for their actions . im not talking about either of them being sad / having other troubles , im not talking about cosmic punishment / karma , i mean direct consequences for the way that they treated mytho . ive heard people argue that " well mytho doesnt have feelings so it doesnt matter how they treated him " , but that argument falls flat fast when you point to tha fact that they both KNEW mytho was getting his feelings back , and they did absolutely nothing to change their behavior . hell , they might have even treated him worse , because of the stress of tha situation or whatever . fakir pushed mytho's face against the mirror and said " look at this repulsive face thats regained the feeling of loneliness " . rue backed away unsettled when she saw mytho smile . there is no argument of " well he didn't feel anything " or " well they didn't realize " . they knew what they were doing   

 and they kind of just ... get away with it . they dont really have to acknowledge the way that they treated him past an almost throwaway line from fakir in the end where hes liek " damn i was kinda mean huh "         

 i would probably be moar forgiving about it if they got ANY sort of consequences ( narratively or through fandom perception ) for their actions , but most ppl dont really care enough about mytho for that . and seeing his situation be largely ignored made me defensive and bitter towards them [ fakir and rue ] . as a trauma survivor myself ( who heavily relates to mytho ) it was a really high hurdle for me to look at them , fakir especially , in a positive light , regardless of whether or not i could recognize their own traumas / understand why they did som of tha things they did .  

  and yeah ppl change n whatever . wounds can heal , relationships can be mended . but fakir never even tried to mend theirs . mytho never got any closure or an apology or anything and it just sucks so much . i mean yeah he got to tell fakir off as r!mytho during that one battle . but most of him being all * evil laughter * at fakir wasnt even him , you can see he doesnt even consider himself that person when hes staggering back to his dorm clutching his heart going “ what are you , who are you , whats goin on ” . mytho got to be a lil scoundrel to fakir as r!mytho but thats not tha saem as any meaningful acknowledgement / apology on fakir’s part      

 and im just . idk . im hesitant to put this in any tags , i dont think i will . bc i know ppl love fakir . but liek . please . can we at least acknowledge what he did . or are we going to keep pretending that his worst offense is being abrasive / grumpy . im sorry to have to tell you this but fakir’s ( and rue’s * ) behaviour towards mytho is literal actual textbook abuse . they isolate him , control him , berate him , lock him up , get in his face and yell at him , manhandle him , tell him who he can talk to , tell him what he can read , tell him that he has to listen to them and no one else . liek . hello . i know you dont want to hear this about ur fave characters but theyre abusers . its not even subtext its just THE text    

 the fact that fakir grows softer after meeting ahiru is irrelevant . him treating ahiru better as the series goes on does not mean that he is treating mytho better as the series goes on . him softening up and growing into a better person is not equal to an apology or any kind of closure or comfort for mytho  

 and dont even get me started on how mytho and rue should not have ended up together . no piece of media is perfect , i do have some things is disliek about PT , and one of them is definitely the ending unfortunately . but thats another post . and its purrobably not even for tha reasons you might think i have    

 also , this is not to say that i think fakir or rue are evil , or that they dont care / never cared about mytho . i dont think its as black and white as that . fakir and rue arent such one dimensional characters , silhouettes laughing evilly to themselves as they take joy in hurting him . i dont think that the fact that fakir abused mytho means he was never worried about him or didnt care about him . i dont think tha fact that rue abused mytho means that she never cared about him either . its messy . they were all put into a very straining situation . ive talked in other posts acknowledging the strain fakir was under , and ive talked at length with friends about why rue felt the need to act the way she did , too . but that doesnt make what they did okay . and i just wish that mytho got any sort of apology , closure , or comfort . instead of everyone going “ well glad thats over !! lets move on with our lives while pretending we all [ sans ahiru ] didnt just abuse mytho this entire show “       

 anyways this post isnt very organized and i purrobably didnt maek any sense . i was just rambling i guess . this is something that ive thought about a lot    

 * if youve noticed im leaning harder into fakir rn , its purrobably bc ppl are moar willing to acknowledge rue’s behaviour . shes loved as an evil gal girlboss or whatevar , even if its often joaky ppl are moare ready to go “ yeah lol rue was so fucked up “ , and have made a lot of serious fanart about the toxicity of her relationship with mytho too . but for tha moast part ppl shy away from putting fakir in any serious negative light . aside from a few posts ive seen ( that were a breath of fresh air honestly ) that talked about his actions , moast ppl portray fakir as someone whos grumpy and abrasive , kind of a jerk , maybe even a “ tsundere “ , but ultimately harmless . so i guess im harder on fakir for that . because im frustrated that ppl only care about shipping him with ahiru , and are more than ready to downplay how horrible he was to mytho so that they can pretend its all sunshine and rainbows with him or something . again it goes back to them receiving no direct consequences for their actions , narratively OR through fandom perception . rue is at least acknowledged as someone that doesnt have a totally great track record , in tha fandom

i mean i never really liked cole :/ like he was fine in the beginning but i was never big on phole which was his big thing and then of course they tanked him so :|. like whatcha gonna do. i can respect the concept tho n julian does have some really good moments. i also don't like kyle bc he bugs the shit outta me but also i find him like So Fascinating like. like he's so interesting just the way he interacts with people like it's so. i personally have a headcanon that he really has trouble like connecting with people / like reading emotions or social cues which is why you know like he dropped that magic bomb with darryl and sheridan and had like no qualms about it and he has like this. it's not quite charm but he has like this. god i can't describe it but you know this kind of light playful tone with an underlying malice that he tends to present with most people upon first meeting but in like relationships he has skin in he's just like a lot more stiff i personally think there's not the same swagger that we see initially Which I Think is because again i don't think he can read people well and his early attitude is actually his impression of like. the leader of the evil kid gang he fell in when he was younger. someone who was a cool sauve leader who was afraid of nothing but people were afraid of him something that a young kyle who was like still like really afraid reeling from the trauma of the death of him parents really kind of worshipped as the perfect mask of strength and masculinity that then proceeded to really sail him through law enforcement you know so it is like his most comfortable mask but it is at the end of the day just some impression of a school bully. but of course this is just my own lil brain in canon kyle's like a bitch

ST: The Next Generation S3 Watchthrough Episodes 14-17

A Matter of Perspective: So we have Riker being accused of murder and Picard and the others having to piece together the events to find the true story. We have a bit of a unique way of accomplishing this as they use the Holodeck to recreate the various accounts… which causes a problem. Not everyone’s accounts line up. They may feel like they’re telling the truth, but may be remembering things wrong, going off second-hand information, misunderstanding wich affects the testimony, and all that fun stuff. Now we know that while Riker can kill if he has to, he likely didn’t commit murder (or do anything like force himself on a woman like the one recreation protrayed), or if he did there would be a reason for it. It sucks to see Riker int his situaiton and Picard wanting to believe his First Officer but having to follow his duty as Captain and with the evidence mounting against Riker… yeah.. So it was fine. Nothing to really complasin about, but nothing to really praise eiher. I guess it shows how messy it can be to get to the truth with so many people believing different things which causes so many muddled up accounts. We never get the true story (though Riker’s is probably the closest to the truth), but we get enough to prove Riker innocent so yay~! Just a solid episode all in all. 3/5.

Yesterday’s Enterprise: YAR! OH MY GOD!!! So in this episode, we end up in an alternate timeline where I guess the Bad Ending of The Undiscovered Country occurred and Starfleet is at war with the Klingons. Only Guinan can tell that something’s out of place. Yar is alive, Troi and Worf are gone, Wesley’s an actual officer, and they have found the believed to be destroyed Enterprise-C. They even bring back the movie-era red uniforms for the Enterprise-C crew. Yar pretty much gets far, far more material to work with than she did in her one season which I guess is how they convinced Denise Crosby to come back for it since I think that’s why she quit in the first place. I still feel very conflicted about her death in Skin of Evil. The senselessness cetianly added to the cruel reality, but left me upset to see her character thrown away like that. Here she will die again no matter what, but this time she decides to let it be on her terms and do something that will at least matter. The whole episode is darker than usual due to the war, allowing them to get away with killing characters and the Enterprise-C’s lose-lose situation is just… it’s just depressing. All while Guinan is trying to convince Picard that this whole reality is wrong, and he’s understandably struggling with being told that what he knows is his reality and life is fake. Guinan watching Yar, knowing that her being alive is wrong, also added ott he unease and lets Yar piece together that she didn’t survive in the true timeline. Seriosuly, Whoppi Goldberg is always awesome, but she was amazing in this episode. The only real downside is because this is an alternate timeline that essentially gets wiped out of existence, the impact is minimal and while Yar got a much better sendoff … it doens’t change that the real Yar is dead and her death was empty (though Guinan asking Geordi about Yar to know more about her was an excellent end note). It holds me back from giving this a perfect score, but this was still an excellent episode and at least shows that even in death, even in another reality, Yar was very much a part of the Enterprise and that she mattered. Clearly the writers realized that they made a mistake and did what they could to make some form of ammends, and I can respect that. 4.5/5.

The Offspring: Data’s a daddy! I thought this sounded kind of silly when I read the description… but Dear Lord this broke my heart. I just wanted to hug Lal through this entire episode. She was just created and experiencing life and already has her own feelings and thoughts, like not liking the other children treating her as different. Data is trying his best and overall I think that he was as good of a parent as he could be. He genuinely wanted to raise Lal, he educated her and even enrolled her in school, went to Crusher for parenting advice, and I think that he truly loved her as any good parent would for their child. It makes the ending just utterly heartbreaking and how the admiral who comes to check things out being just feels so God awful. Hell the fact that they consider taking what is essentially a young child away from her parent without taking her feelings into account just because she’s an android already exceeding Data’s funcitons essentially because of prejudice and claiming to know better than the parent/father who is clealry not abusive or anything like that… yeah, the allegory hits hard. Data having to say goodbye to Lal as she died… yeah that hit me hard. I cried. That was just… God I don’t even know how to describe it, but it hurt. The episode has it’s issues. Like while I do like that Lal was allowed to choose her own gender, it’s a painful reminder that no one could even consider non-binary an option. I also felt like Picard was off in the first half since while he does ultimately defend Data against the admiral and I understand his concerns about Data not telling anyone and how Starfleet will react, him acting like Data even able to fathom wanting a child or if Lal even counts as a child just feels… horribly dickish. At least Troi was on Data’s side, and liek I said Picard did ultimateley defend Data and his and Lal’s rights so that’s good. And while I get that Data views himself as unable to feel… he clearly did love Lal and I need to keep reminding myself that we didn’t have the understanding of neurodivergence or the like back then, but I legit cannot tell what the show is triyng to say concerning Data’s ability to feel. Can he? Or can he not? They only allow one or the other. Still, the episode was sweet in a lot of ways and just brutal/sad in others and just a painful reminder of the prejudice against Data/androids that The Measure of a Man illustrated. Hopefully, happier things for Data are on the horizon. 4/5.

Sins of the Father: So after that heartbreaker, lets do more father-related stuff but time with the Klingons! This time we have a Klingon, Kurn, working on the Enterprise as an acting FIrst Officer and not only does it turn out that he’s Worf’s unknown brother… but that Worf’s father was accused of treason and thus he and his family are facing dishonor, hence why Kurn is there. Until that revelation it looked like we were getting the reverse of A Matter of Honor, but when that twist comes in? Ho boy… As the oldest son, Worf has to face the challenge that will either clear his family or end in his execution and of course Worf feels bound to do so. This certainly was something. We get to see the Klingon homeworld, we plunge straight into Klingon politics, and damn is it intense from the moment we warp to the planet to the very end. While we sort out that Worf's father wasn’t a traitor… unfortunately the one whose family was is in a high position of power who tries everything possible to keep the truth from coming out. It’s a whole conspiracy and Worf is forced to accept the dishonor just to prevent the planet from plunging into Civil War. It’s clear that no one, not even the other Klingons like this and knows that it’s wrong… but they turn their backs on him anyways. Worf even forces Kurn to do so so that he won’t have to suffer the same fate when the truth about his identity becomes known. It reflects on Worf’s character, his honor and devotion to his family despite them being either dead or only just finding out that he had a brother at all. Not to mention to the Klingon Empire since he’s also allowing it to save them from war. But it’s also just so cruel that he and his family got scapegoated all because of one asshole to cover his own family’s dishonor, especially since we’d watched Worf trying so hard to uphold the Klingon ideals and beliefs despite having grown up among humans. Now he’s been shamed by his people and viewed as a non-entity, which may be even worst than mere dishonor. IDK if this plot will continue in TNG or when he joins DS9, but I hope it does because Worf didn’t at all deserve this. It makes me respect his character so much more though and Picard was freakin’ badass as well. At least in the meantime, he has the Enterprise crew standing by him. 4/5.

BUT okay so the main character of this book is will!!!! he is an orphan that lives in redmont castle (? i think itz called that but i haven’t read the bookz in like 7 nearly 8 years lol) n so he is with a bunch of other orphans n then there is one, horace, who bullies him. hez a dick atm but genuienly by the end of the book hez one of ur fav characterz

SO they have this whole thing at 15 where the like. important people come in and they tel them what job they want ? like one wants to be a courier, one wants to be a chef, n horace wants to be a knight. so they tell them that but then will:[ he wants to he a knight bc he knows his father was one but they’re like ‘lol no’ so hez sad BUT..... a ranger appears :ooooo and he handz the baron a note n itz about will so will is like ‘i am going to read that letter tonight’

SO when everyone is ~asleep~ he sneaks out and hides and climbs his way up the wall to the barons room n getz in AND THE FUCKER ISNT ASLEEP!!!!! AND THE RANGER IS THERE!!!!! (his name is halt btw) n then the baron is like ‘well we should let him at least read the note’ n it’s like ‘i will take will on as my apprentice for him to be a ranger’

SO!!!!!! i think the next day or smth? will leaves n goes with halt and he starts training and stuff n itz just. cool!!! n there’s also a whole thing where he gets a horse who will only respond to him + a word itz cool skfhjd.

meanwhile horace is at the knight school n now HE is getting bullied!! by these boys a year above him and hez like ‘oh fuck now i know what it feels like n i feel bad’

(now at this point a couple things might be out of order bc idk which happened first)

SO willz been training yknow hez gonna be a RANGER bc they r. vv cool they have bows they shoot with and they are Silent they have cloaks that blend in to the nature so that they can Sneak and Hide!!!!

and so halt takes him to this whole rnager camp thingy where all the rnagerz meet up at But on the way there he gets will to hide because his former apprentice tries to sneak up on him every year and he wantz will to shoot an arrow near him to show that hez there so will is hiding n then the former apprentice, gilan comes up (i love him soso much btw) n hez like ‘oh i got u halt!!!! i got u good!!!’ n then halt is talking and will is pulling back his bow and then halt says smth about having two horses n gilan Realizes and as he turns to look will shoots the arrow n it hitz the tree beside gilan!!!

so then they get to the camp n there is Bad Thingz happening so they leave to go back to their home

and so then therez a scene where all of the orphans are hanging out on this like rlly happy day but then horace is a fucking DICK so it getz ruined but u know what? whatever

so then another scene is where therez a wild boar thatz running around, so everyone tries to hunt it, right? and so therez halt and will wirh the knights and stuff and i think will kills the boar? but then he goes a tiny bit away and then therez horace there and i think they’re gonna argue when THEREZ ANOTHER NOAR!!!! and then willz horse tries to get the boar away and he’s like ‘TUG MO’ but then soon the boar is coming at them

and will puts out his knife (? idk if thatz the right word) hoping that at least he can kill it before it can hurt horace AND THEN!!!! an arrow comes flying n KILLS the boar!!!!! and i have screenshots for this i just Need to share

ok so remenber the fact that horace is getting bullied? those fuckerz think hez gonna tell will (or think he told will) so after they beat horace up theyre loke ‘letz go teach his friend a lesson’ n horace is like FUCK so even tho hez hurt he gets up and follows them and then when they arrive and EILL is there they fucking hurt him??! but then horace arrives and hez like ‘you fucking fuckers, stop hurting my friend’ BUT THEN!!!!! HALT ARRIVES!!!!!

n hez liek. a Scary Ranger okay! hez known across the land bc hez so good but these boys see him being like 5 foot 4 so they’re like ‘oh we can take him’

(also there was a scene some point in the book where the whole knight teacher dude noticed horace doing stuff during their training and he realizes horace is unconsciously adding a swipe to the thing hez learning for fighting which will fucking Kill whoever hez fighting so the dude is like ‘damn. he smort’)

okay okay so the end of the book. therez this whole Evil Dude that u slowly learn about throughout the book but he has an army of these ducking like. night creature thingz! itz rlly weird they r covered in fur and see best at night and can only be killed by fire but the thing is that once they have a scent to track. they will not stop tracking until either them or the person they’re hunting is dead

and remember how i said halt is like a Scary Ranger? itz bc hez known for defeating the Evil Dude in this war. so guess who the evil dude sendz those monsterz after.....

and they dont know this yet, so like. halt sendz eill back to the castle to get the baron n the knight leader dude and will genuiwnly doesnt stop until he arrives and theyre like ‘woah what the duck’ n he frantically tells them and so they’re like ‘fuck u need sleep’ n hez like ‘NO HALT COULD BE DYING’ but they. Make him sleep for a few minutes n then they all head back but when they arrive they hear the creatures like hunting call and they know that they r hunting for halt

BUT halt has killed one already so therez one left so hez weak and then one of them nearly kills the knight dude (and i can’t remember what happened to the baron but hez still alive) but will putz stuff on his arrow and then dips it into the fire and it lightz on fire and it burns his hands but the holds the arrow back and points or at the creature and then firez it and kills the fucker so for now. everyone is safe

(n then therez a whole scene where the king expresses his gratitude blah blah n then it endz)
