Karst Stone Paper - journal review
Decided to try out a new brand of journal and thought I'd post a lil review. I didn't find one when I was ordering it, so maybe someone else will find this helpful (:
I bought a Karst A5 dot notebook. Mostly because it was the only really good color red notebook I would find and I was looking for red. Also though, I was really interested in it because the paper is not made from trees. It's made from sustainably recycled stone! I thought it was super cool and ya know, save the environment.
I did a light sketch using a Blackwing pearl pencil. Even with very light pressure, the pencil goes on suuuuper dark. Extremely smooth, zero drag. My pencil was super sharp, and you can tell. There's a lot of raised through on the other side of the page, though it does taper off later in the drawing as my pencil dulled, so if you don't go in with a freshly sharpened, or if you aren't a pencil person, you'd be alright.
Tumblr media
Now, my biggest complaint. (And probably a deal breaker for its intended purpose as my daily journal, still trying to decide.)
Tumblr media
I tried to erase my sketch to go over it in pen, and it will not erase. Not even with ole betsy Staedtler Mars. I eventually gave up trying and just started inking because I was like whelp might as well make this a test subject instead of a sketch in a journal I use every day, at this point.
Ink goes on really well. Honestly, surprisingly well given how much smeared lead it was going over. You can see the ink through the other side, but there is zero bleed through to the other side.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So if you're ink only, and don't care about being able to erase or use a sharp pencil, this could be the journal for you. But I wouldn't recommend it to a pencil artist or someone wanting to be able to edit their to-do list.

i love how every time i come onto your blog majima is judging me for not being forklift certified lmaooo
anywho- let's play the ask game! >:D i gotta basket a' questions for ya: A5, A13, B2, B4, C1, C6,C7, D7, E2, F7!!!
A5: Favorite final boss(es)?
sorry for being a predictable slut, but majima in y5. it was just. such an emotional and dramatic scene, when kurosawa brought him out in chains, beaten and bloody, and saejima was infuriated, and then it switched to confusion when they let majima go and gave him his tanto. and then when kurosawa told them to kill each other. the DRAMA. still confused on how he learned to do shadow clones, though.
A13: Favorite minigame(s)?
i love all of the rhythm based ones! karaoke, disco, dance battles, i love them!
B2: What’s a scene that never fails to make you cry?
GOD. so many. tachibana's death in y0, when majima chooses to walk away from makoto, majima and taiga's reunion in y4, the rooftop scene in y5 when majima says if its btwn him and taiga and haruka, they should die bc no one would miss them, just so many >.>
B4: Who would you like to post more about but you don’t? Why don’t you?
yasuko, i can never post abt yasuko enough. but my little pea brain mostly makes thoughts and connections based on stuff ive seen recently, and since i dont rlly see a ton of yasuko content i just dont achieve critical yasuko thought very often.
C1: What was the most infuriating moment?
when they killed yasuko. i was too mad to cry when she died, bc i wasnt even sad i was just angry.
C6: If you could revive any deceased character, who would it be and why?
YASUKO. she never should have died.
C7: Which character should have died but didn’t? (If that’s too harsh, who deserves to rot in prison?)
u know im not rlly sure. i cant think of any characters who from a thematic standpoint would have made more sense to die. i get where ppl are coming from when they say kiryu shouldve died at the end of y6, and ok yeah thematically that wouldve made the most sense but consider: i like him and it would have made me sad :(
D7: Who was the least engaging protagonist?
hmmmmmm...... i hated akiyama in y4. i actually didnt like him at ALL and when i got to his part in y5 i took a rlly long break bc i didnt wanna play as him. y5 made me like him a bit more, and now im fine w/ him, but i still like the other protags more lmao.
E2: Bops: Haruka Sawamura, T-Set or Dream Line?
haruka shouldve tiger dropped T-set for being so fucking rude ngl, but also. im sorry haruka, but i prefer T-set's singing voices to hers ;_;
7F: Who are you fighting on the Millennium Tower rooftop?
mmmmmm no one, im baby and id just cry if someone tried to fight me. that, said, i do think kiryu needed someone to knock some sense into him at a few key moments. sorry.
edit: forgot to answer b4... it is now answered....

a5 on the chart? whichever characters you want!
A5- Accidental G/T
Ok. Not gonna lie, forgot I had posted this for a minute. But hell yeah ive needed to write. LETS GO! SHORT STORY TIME!!
Vore under the cut (duh) :3
Being small had its ups and downs. An up being you could hide almost anywhere and not be seen! A down being you could hide almost anywhere and not be seen.
Race hadn’t thought of that.
In his defense, when running from the Delanceys at a height of four inches no one really had time to think of anything. Not to mention that, according to the others, he didn’t think at all. He certainly didn’t when he jumped from a windowsill into a bowl of soup.
A bowl that belonged to a tired, hungry beanpole of a teenager.
Now he had intended to jump right out. He intended to keep running despite being now soaked to the bone in chicken soup. When the brothers rounded the corner those plans changed quicker then the speed of light.
He ducked back down into the bowl, trying to remain as hidden as possible as the footsteps pass. Problem: they don’t pass.
He lost sleep thanks to Les last night, missed breakfast, and didn’t want to deal with anyone at the moment before he had go back out to the streets to sell. Especially the god forsaken Delancey Brothers. Alas, that’s where Davey was. Getting his lunch interrupted by the two who despised him more then before thanks to what he could do.
“What?” He grumbles, setting his spoon back into his bowl. It was a beautiful day and he just wanted to enjoy a good meal in peace. Too much to ask? He didn’t think so.
“Where th’ fuck did ya hide th’ dumbass?” Oscar growls. It’s a lot easier not to be afraid of the boy when they were his size. Though it was noticeable how they kept distance. A small detail that makes Davey suppress a chuckle. They really did fear him. Good. Then the lessons were starting to get across.
“Who?” Great. It could be any of his boy with the way they were talking.
“The one who makes bets and smokes.”
“Oh. Race.” Well shit.
Was....Was Davey not even surprised it was him?! Ok. Ouch. That kind of hurt. No, that really hurt! Still, Race stayed hidden.
“Yeah. Him. Racer or whateve’a. Where th’ hell is he?”
Davey gives them the best look he can that just shows how done he felt. An eyebrow raised, eyes narrowed, and his mouth in a small frown. He groaned, scrubbing a hand down his face. “You really think that I know where Race is when I didn’t even know it was Race you were looking for to begin with?”
“You can act!”
Davey rolled his eyes, dipping the spoon into his soup and bringing a spoonful to his mouth. He needed to eat. “Listen.”
Race felt his heart drop as something smooth and cold slid under him. What the- he was lifted out of the bowl, a good bit of broth and a noodle or two staying on with him. Panicking big time, his gaze flashes between Davey and the Delanceys. They seemed mad. Fuck. To make matters worse, Davey didn’t even seem to know he was there! He could either jump and run or try and get Davey’s attention. As he thinks, frozen in fear, he’s given another option. One he’s forced to pick.
What can he do when he’s slipped into Davey’s mouth, anyway?
Soon, the spoon slips out from under him as he’s transferred to sit, frozen, on the squishy muscle he’s only come into contact with a few times. He only a little about what this is like, but he knows doesn’t like it. Try as he might to squirm or fight his body doesn’t move. He’s trapped. For one of the few times he does, Race prays. He prays Davey’ll notice it’s him before-
Gulp.
Sending his mouthful of soup down with a simple gulp, Davey lets his tongue slip over his lips. He could swear he tasted....smoked Bacon? Ha. How funny. His mind immediately went to Race. Oh boy. Now he was tasting things. Feeling things too as something seemed to squirm down his throat. Geez, maybe he should tuck Jack away tonight for his own sanity. Remind himself what it was actually like. Or maybe laying off the whole ‘eating people’ thing for a bit would work better. Hmm.... “As I was say- what is up with you two?”
Seeing the Delanceys speechless, what’s more frozen, was a feat. He didn’t even do anything! So what in the world had them so spooked? Did....did him just eating scare them that much? Ok. That was kind of funny.
“Ok,” he starts, sighing. “You two can either leave or join my lunch. The choice is yours.”
He doesn’t need to say anything else for them to go running. He shrugs, going back to his lunch. He got his soup and intended to enjoy it. No one was going to take a good meal from him after the day he’s had. End of story.
Landing in Davey’s stomach was bad enough. He could hear the thumping heartbeat and the soft woosh of breathing all around him along with each gurgle or growl from the hot, wet organ he was stuck in. Stuck. He could....he could take that. Yeah. He could take being in here for a minute or two so Davey could scare off the Delanceys. Maybe Davey noticed his squirming! Then he’d be spit out!
His hope crumbled when it started to rain noodles, chicken, and broth.
Did....Did Dave not notice?? He had to have. He wasn’t being digested after all. Though he wasn’t making any moves to spit him up. What could that mean? Maybe...maybe he noticed his taste and subconsciously turned off digestion? Whatever he did, thank god.
When it finally stopped raining chicken noodle soup he felt the room squish around him with a stretch from the boy holding him captive. A content sigh sounded above while the room around him gurgled and churned. Everything jolted one way then the other. Then a soft sway became constant. Like a weird fleshy hammock. Davey was...walking now? Ok. That’s fine. But now a new problem surfaced.
How’s he going to get him to let him out?

If you’re a regular on the SWLing Post, you’ll certainly know our contributor, Robert Gulley.
Robert is a wonderful friend and one of the biggest ambassadors for radio I know. Robert has mentored a countless number of ham radio operators and radio listeners–his enthusiasm is infectious.
This time, Robert could really use our help.
His wife Jennifer has Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (MS)–a disease that has progressed to the point she needs 24/7 care. Finances are tight, so when a home equity loan taken out over 15 years ago recently ballooned, Robert and Jennifer have struggled to make these payments and stay afloat.
They’ve explored refinancing and even selling their home, but the numbers simply don’t work in their favor.
I, along with a number of Robert’s close friends, have encouraged him to start a GoFundMe campaign to try to raise some funds to pay down the home equity loan.
Robert isn’t the sort of guy that ever asks for help, indeed he’s always the one giving help. This is why I’m asking you to consider supporting his GoFundMe campaign if you have the means to do so. You can read more about his situation on the GoFundMe page.
Any amount will help as it will be dropped on the principle of their loan and thus shorten the term or even make a refinance possible.
Click here to support Robert’s GoFundMe campaign.
GoFundMe is a reputable organization to raise funds and they don’t take a large cut like some other platforms do, but if you would rather support Robert outside of GoFundMe (directly, by check for example) feel free to contact him.
Thank you!

PACIFIC (DXPEDITION) TOUR ALMOST DID NOT HAPPENED (Update). Heli, DD0VR,
(along with XYL Bigi, DE3BWR) informed OPDX on Monday that their Fiji
“DXpedition ends here.” Heli explains that after two visits to the Fiji
Customs Bureau, and having endless discussions, the couple was told that
they would have to pay three times 1540 Fijian dollars (700 USDs) for
their transmitters & amp in order to take their equipment into the three
islands they planned to operate from (Fiji, Samoa and Tonga). So Heli/
DD0VR and XYL Bigi/DE3BWR then decided to make their trip a “normal
holiday” and pick-up their equipment on the way back to Germany. At
this point, they were very disappointed. However, on Wednesday, thanks
from some help by Tevita Navila (Telecommunications Authority of Fiji),
Tony/3D2AG and Bernie/W3UR of The Daily DX, Heli was able to retrieve
his equipment and was able to be active as 3D2VR from Fiji for a few days.
By the time you read this, Heli (along with his XYL) will be heading
to Samoa and should be active as 5W0VR from Samoa sometime between Sep-
tember 9-16th. Activity will be on various HF bands and modes. QSL via
DD0VR. Next stop will be Tonga, Heli will be signing as A35JY between
September 16-21st.
PJ4, BONAIRE (Reminder). Randy, K5SL, should now be active as PJ4/K5SL
from Bonaire (SA-006) until September 14th. Activity will be on 40/30/
20/17 meters using mainly CW, but possibly some 17 meters SSB. QSL via
his home callsign.

S79GJ SEYCHELLES DXPEDITION (Update). Lance, W7GJ, will be active as S79GJ
from La Digue Island (AF-024, WW Loc. LI75vp), Seychelles, between September
20th and October 5th. Lance informs OPDX this past week of the following:
“All the equipment has been set up and checked and then packed up to go
on the plane with me to S79. This is primarily a 6m EME DXpedition, but
I have packed a 20m dipole and may also get on 20m FT8 during the first
few days of October. Full details are on my website:
http://www.bigskyspaces.com/w7gj/Seychelles%202019.htm
Although the CP1GJ 6m EME DXpedition in May was a big success, I am
especially excited about S79GJ because nobody from NA has ever contacted
S79 before on 6m. This is especially well suited to NA horizon-only
stations during their moonrise…. GL and VY 73, Lance”

Thanks for your Spectre HC you just posted, I love reading people's thoughts on him! Do you have any other thoughts about his character?
I have a lot of thoughts, actually. here are my other Spectre metas that you might be interested in (earth ignis!Spectre) and (water ignis!Spectre)
And I’ve also got a lot of unpublished fics involving him. Some of these are unpublished because its not the right time (stupid rare pair week being in December and not now) and others are unpublished because they’re unfinished (more earth ignis!Spectre and some naughty stuff)
my main philosophy with characterising Spectre, and I admittedly have a lot to perfect, comes from reading Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro and that is, Spectre is the inverse of the titular character. He is Neuro, if Neuro was a masochist.
also, i’m a huge revspec shipper so revspec is implied below frequently, I am also intrigued by polyamorous shipping with him and all the lost kids because i feel like its inevitable (like in a5 with the yu-boys and b-girls, its a similar sort of thing. lost kids squad need to bond ok).
but i do dislike some ships involving him (him and pl.aymaker as well as him and sou.lburner but the former is slightly bettered by a threesome solution involving revolver) and then I loathe some ships involving him (him and bl.ue an.gel)
So here is like the comprehensive list of things I think about him either in general or in tandem with other characters
fluffy/general
The best art tropes are when he’s portrayed with long hair (like waist length) or with earrings (specifically Ryoken’s)
he is a huge green thumb; his room is just overflowing with plants. that being said, it is rather messy because he absolutely can’t prune to the level that is needed
he likes classical musical and instrumental covers of heavy metal music best
of the lost children, i think he was the eldest. looking at how yusaku and takeru are portrayed as children, spectre looks closer to how ryoken was portrayed. so i think he was 8 at the time of the incident; not to mention, when he first appeared, I thought he was 20+
loves androgynous fashion and is open to dressing femininely but chooses not to because he’s worried it looks unprofessional
he makes the best teas and cakes. he also cooks a lot and is very good at it. he’s very, very domestic in general.
i love… precocious kid Spectre and dumb childhood friends to lovers tropes like “I’m going to be the one who marries you when we grow up” and pinkie promises type thing (though, if spectre broke a pinkie promise, i’m certain he’d break his pinkie finger too)
he’s also quite affectionate due to being touch starved which is really at odds with the fact that he hates people and he wants to maintain a level of professionalism with the one person he does (or had a history of) want to be affectionate with
spectre has a photographic memory and remembers every single detail of every single day, however, he is (more or less) lying about remembering those things from infancy; those’re coping daydreams. they did happen/similar things happened but he’s dreamt up most the details
angsty
He needs a therapist really, really badly and I’m of the hopeful belief that he will eventually get the opportunity to work through his issues in a professional environment
he often wonders how different his life may have been had he been born either a) a girl or b) a more ‘attractive’ child.
Dr Kogami would not approve of Spectre having romantic feelings for his son
Spectre had so many mixed feelings about the death of Dr Kogami
the Kogami family situation is so fucked from this perspective because Ryoken is so loyal and his father is Like That
I think there was at least one couple who attempted to get to know Spectre; maybe he was the most physically similar child to them or they were intrigued by how intelligent he was and he probably scarred them for life.
other
Spectre doesn’t wear a mask. All the other members of Hanoi wear masks but Spectre doesn’t. I still don’t quite know what to make of this but it does, I think, speak to how low he might perceive himself since he is so subservient to The Cause
I really hope he gets a re-design. I think, other than Ryoken, he is probably the most pressing character who needs a redemption arc. after all, he is a Lost Child. but also because he has a kinda boring design?? like, it isn’t as eye catching as the others, you know?
related to the one above, I think that if any character gets a more permanent death, especially of the lost kids, it’s Spectre with his head closest to the chopping block unless he gets redeemed - unless death is redeeming but fingers crossed he’s still alive by the final episode otherwise I might go into some hardcore denial
also ya girl is a dumbass because she incorrectly thought that Spectre and Go’s orphanage was the same one but no, they’re different places altogether lol
his English VA is spot the fuck on. I really, really enjoy his dubbed voice
I am certain that Spectre will recruit his Ignis and he won’t kill it. I think his Ignis is Earth but I kind of really want it to be Aqua too purely because mixed gender Ignis/Origin pairs intrigue me and the fact that the silhouette of the girl from the lost incident is shown having twin tails ending up with Earth is hilarious
I hope we get more Spectre backstory because its one of my favourites in all of yugioh tbh because it’s just so balls to the walls with W H A T
i’d love to write more gen fic of him but he just pushes the right effing buttons for me so nsfw under the cut jsyk
smutty
bondage, collars & leashes, tentacles, dendrophilia, body worship (if he’s doing it to someone else), sadism/masochism play: all things he absolutely enjoys.
he’s probably down to try anything so long as it’s like hygienic or whatever
has accidentally (or not so accidentally) called his s/o mummy during sex
he is a VERSE. stop erasing his identity people. this man is a switch and proud
he’s one of those people who doesn’t talk about sex but you can absolutely tell from a mile or a million away what he is high key into and that is rather far from ‘vanilla’
his biggest kink is being loved and appreciated and making his s/o feel the same though, lbr
revspec smut fics i wanna write
bonus category because i wanna talk about the kinky things i wanna write involving him
dungeons and dragons inspired au where he’s a dryad and instead of having conventional genitalia, he has a flower Ryoken can penetrate but there are also tentacles and a lot of nectar which kinda acts like nice tasting cum and aphrodisiacs are a Thing too
post-canon or mundane au fic where he and rev more or less get married, Spectre brings the wedding bouquet into the bedroom and either a) puts on a ‘show’ for Ryoken involving it or b) Spectre takes it up the ass from Ryoken whilst masturbating/humping it
another dnd/fantasy world au with dragon!Revolver and human sacrifice!Spectre. you can probably tell where that’s going. Spectre gets devoured in ways he hadn’t expected :eyes:
ok this fic won’t ever happen but it still came to me in a dark, dark time: post canon fic where he and rev have outdoor sex in the presence of Spectre’s tree mother;
either a fic where ryoken threesomes with irl!spectre and vrains!spectre or spectre foursomes with irl!ryoken, s1!revolver, and s2!revolver because I’m a slut for surreal sex like that
i feel like i’m forgetting something bUT YEAH

I have visited Sector 2814 around 80 solar revolutions ago, otherwise known as "Earth" by its inhabitants, and I have been mesmerized by a unique oscillation of air pressure, otherwise known as "jazz music". I then embarked on a long journey to return to the overseer and report my observations, bringing with a "Dave Brubeck jazz record and vinyl player". They had listened to the unique air pressure oscillations and was appeased. The overseer asked for more. Now I have returned not more than a few planetary rotations ago, and they have invented a new sort of communication, called the "Internet". It brought forth great things: for one I could now opt to listen to unique air pressure oscillations from anywhere in the globe, but there too exists a grave threat to Sector 2814's inhabitants called the "lolicon furry hentai". This profligacy must not spread around the planet, for it has corrupted the minds of its inhabitants. Sincerely, ⟟⏃⋔☌⏃⊬.

StereoSpace6 years agoBit of trivia...Dave Brubeck assigned everyone to compose some original music. To spark creativity, he gave different time signatures to each person 3 (3/4), 4 (4/4) and so forth. Paul Desmond was told take 5 (5/4) time. Paul wrote 'take 5' on his notepad as a reminder. Later he decided that was a good name.

hey mary! i know you're super busy with your final year at university, so don't feel pressured to answer! i'm curious as to what planner you're going to use in 2017! i can't really decide whether to buy one or make my own! i admire you for your organisational skills, so i'd really appreciate an insight into how you're going to organise stuff in the next year! thank you very much in advance and good luck with uni!
hey, don’t worry about it!! for now i’m absolutely not busy as i’m home on christmas break woho. i’ll still definitely use a bullet journal because tbh i have been so so so content with how its been working over the past semester. i literally don’t even want to change my system and it’s been a full semester and i am shook.
however, as a bit of a treat to myself for goddamn surviving i’m v likely gonna buy an a5 soft cover dotted leuchtturm1917 once i get back to the uk, to replace the moleskine one i’m currently using. the one i’m currently using have been used off and on in different periods and i just feel the need to do a bit of a cleanse and start fresh. embrace the new year spirit and appreciate how much i’ve changed since i started using this notebook. idk it’s not even that deep lol but that’s the plan. once i do get one and get it set up, you bet there’s gonna be a video about it!!
as for a bit of a preliminary how i’m setting it up, and what i’ve been doing that really worked for me this year:
february - may future log (inspired by @baby-gloom as per literally always her stuff is amazing)
jan - may chore tracker (as per this)
semester overview (also as per this lol)
january monthly (as per this, but possibly split over two pages w/personal on the left and academics on the right)
weekly spreads (as per all the ones in this video i love them a lot)
february monthly (again as per this)
and it goes on. then in the back of my journal i’m gonna have dissertation / meeting / any random notes, and any collections i suddenly feel the need for (spoiler: probably none, i’m one of those bullet journal people that just have no collections lol)
but ya, that’s what i’m going and i am hoping it is gonna be good !! also if any of you are doing something cool, def tag me in your posts or message me about it or we !! i love chatting about planner stuff ngl xx

So I’m kinda meh about vr//ains????
Like I’m kinda disappointed that Yus//aku won the duel??? Like Zxl and a5 were so refreshing cause I could take Kai//to and Rei//ji seriously as rivals. (Don’t get me wrong I like the characters themselves but I never once doubted that the protag wouldn’t win for dm-5 ds).
I got so annoyed at Yu//sei (still love him tho) because he won every duel and after just finishing a5 and binge watching zxl seeing Yu//saku being Mr. Perfect is kinda disappointing to me. Let him lose and have flaws. Even if you’re determine to win you can still lose (ie Yu//ma v Kai//to and Yu///ya v Rei///ji). Like Yu//saku’s rage blind him and make a fatal error and lose a duel!
And holy shit I’m so done with everyone saying that this is the darkest and plot heaviest and greatest ygo to date.
Like ‘darkest?’ Ju//dai went through depression and committed genocide.
5 ds literally takes place in most Apocalypse world.
Zxl showed six people being unfairly killed and it manga showed Fakers decomposing body.
A5 had a god damn card game war.
Those people in ep one of vr that were ‘burned alive’ were just logged out. And Re/volver losing his arm, it was brought back in like ten minutes cause its virtual.
Like Vr is like hypothetically doing ‘dark stuff’ but is like ‘its okay because it’s easily restable and no one really gets hurt.
Yea ygo tends to do that but claiming this one is the darkest? nuh-uh, not yet at least.
Speaking of consequences being fake outs, is Ao//i thing in ep 7 gonna mean anything? Like yea it was pretty and dramatic, but bitch lost her wings. She fell. I want to see her struggles and get back up, a grow. Please don’t let that thing just be for show esp since its suppose 2 b da bestest epuode in yaers!
And most plot heavy? Hoe this is just the most plot shown, it little amount of time. The others were just kept in the dark (A//tem and As//tral not having their plot relevant memories, Ju//dai and Yu//ya not remembering their past lives, Yu///sei being an orphan in the satellite away from everyone that knows whats going on).
I don’t mean to sound anti. I still like vr and love  the cards (esp barreload dragon, my baby). But I hate this mentality the vocal fandom is getting about this being the best. I saw a little when 5 ds aired and every spin off since. People say this all the time and then get disappointed when what they want doesn’t happen.
Also it might be the fandom fading a5 while praising vr has left me some bitter feelings toward the show (like how I was bitter when I watch zxl but now I’m fine with it).
Maybe Vr will be the best ygo to date and I eat all these words, but it’s too early for peopling for making these claims and I want them to shhh so I can enjoy the show properly.

How about #29 with Alec x Rose. Or if you prefer, Ten x Rose!
If you love me, let me know, before its too late.
Alec blinked, staring at the scrap of paper taped to his kettle. It was, unmistakably, Rose’s handwriting, the words written on a torn piece of lined A5 paper. His heart sped up as he processed the words. What did she mean? Was something wrong? Where was she?
Already, his phone was out, and he thumbed through his contacts before finding Rose’s name. He pressed dial, pressed the phone to his ear, and paced his small kitchen nervously. In the wake of the Trish Winterman case, he didn’t want to take any chances on Rose’s safety.
The phone rang.
And rang.
And rang.
“Bloody hell,” he muttered under his breath, chancing a glance at the clock on the wall. it was nearly 11 at night. “Pick up the bloody phone, Rose.”
Finally, finally, she answered.
“Yeah?” she asked, and she sounded groggy. “Alec?”
“Did I wake you?”
“I... Yeah, but it doesn’t matter.” She still sounded half asleep.
Alec swallowed. “I got your note.”
There was a long pause. “Oh,” Rose managed finally. “Right. I didn’t mean for it to sound so urgent.”
He choked out a laugh then. “How can it not be urgent, Rose? You left me a note on my bloody kettle saying ‘if you love me, let me know, before its too late’. How is that not urgent?”
There was another long pause. “Wha’?” Rose asked in confusion. “Alec, that’s not what I put.”
“Yes it is!” he responded, growing annoyed. “I’m bloody staring at it, Rose!”
“That’s only half of what I wrote,” came Rose’s response. “It said ‘let me know before it’s too late if you can definitely get the time of work for my cousin’s wedding. I’d really appreciate you coming with me to fend off my Gran.’. Remember? You said you’d see about booking the time off to come to my cousin Chantelle’s wedding next month.”
Alec blinked at that. “Did you not write it on half a bit of A5?” he asked slowly.
“No, it was a whole sheet,” Rose responded. “Tore it out of a notebook I had in my bag. Daisy must’ve ripped half of it off to write something on it. When I popped in yours to leave the note she was looking for some paper for something.”
“Oh.”
He heard Rose yawn at the other end of the phone. “Is that it, Alec? ‘Cause I’ve gotta open up the shop tomorrow for Mr Simons, so I’ve gotta be up early.”
“I... Yeah, that’s all,” he told her. “And I’ll see about booking that holiday time tomorrow, if you text me the date.”
“Brilliant,” Rose told him, and she sounded like she was stifling another yawn. “I’ll speak to ya tomorrow then.”
“Alright,” Alec said, rubbing at his tired eyes.
“Night,” Rose said.
“Night.” He went to hang up, but suddenly remembered something. “And Rose?”
“Yeah?”
“I love you.”
send me a number and a pairing and I’ll write you a short fic.

Hello fellow studyblrs! I’ve been living in Singapore for almost 7 years now, and stationery has always been my absolute favourite stuff. Even though Singapore is quite a small island, you can easily find some good quality stationery if you know where to look. Here’s my quick guide on where to splurge on pens and notebooks according to your needs.
Popular
Best for: if you need basic materials for school or uni, or need to quickly buy pens or paper because you ran out of them
Price range: 💸
Popular is definitely the go-to stationery shop for students in Singapore. You can find really good deals of note taking blocs or bundles of pens. I usually go there when my pen ran out of ink, but I feel like although Popular sells good basic materials, it’s missing a certain edge of quality. That being said, if you are a student on a budget, Popular is definitely your best stationery destination.
The good thing about Popular is that they also sell books, so after choosing my stationery, I can stroll around the YA bookshelves and see what’s new ^^ For Singaporean students, and students sitting the A-Levels or GCSE, they also have a wide selection of textbooks and study guides.
Recommended Popular shop: the one in Bras Basah Complex
Muji
Best for: minimalist stationery lovers
Price range: 💸
Ah, Muji. The pinacle of Studyblr stationery. The hype is real, guys. I buy all my paper-based supplies there. The quality of their notebooks and hole punched papers is ah-mazing. This Japanese store that strives to sell goods not for the brand label but for its quality is doing a great job. A lot of their notebooks are in B5 because that's the norm in Japan, but you can also find them in A4, A5 and even A6.
You won't find cute stationery in Muji because it's a minimalist store, but the quality of their products is still amazing. Personally I buy my squared hole-punched paper there, and only use that for my notes. I don't particularly find their pens amazing, but they are still of good quality. They mostly have .38 and .5 pens, and some .7.
The amazing thing about notebooks in muji is that they have a simple paper cover, so you can decorate it however you like it for those DIY-loving students.
Recommended Muji store: the one in B4 in Ion Orchard
Tokyu Hands, Orchard Central Level B1
Best for: Japanese stationery lovers, visual perfectionists
Price range: 💸💸💸
Tokyu Hands is a Japanese lifestyle store that has absolutely anything Japanese, including stationery. The store retailers have arranged the shelves so well, they look so neat and prefect!! They have a really wide range of colours for each brand of pens, such as Pilot Juice or Sarasa (in every freaking colour) and so on. They also sell those genius tools made in Japan such as the no staples stapler lmao Seriously just going to the store is so satisfying because it's really bright and wide.
They also sell some files and clear folders, but same thing as in Kinokuniya (see below), they are on the expensive side compared to those cheap ones you can get in Popular or Daiso. Overall I just love going to Tokyu Hands because it reminds me of stationery stores in Japan, which is my motherland ^^
Kinokuniya, Ngee Ann City Level 4
Best for: Japanese stationery lovers
Price Range: 💸💸💸
Kinokuniya is a Japanese bookstore, and the one in Ngee Ann City has a modest-size stationery corner right next to the manga section. They mostly sell Japanese brands so if you are specifically looking for those, you will be served. This corner is good if you just want to buy the cute pens and buy some basic paper stuff. But Kinokuniya is first and foremost a bookstore, so there isn't much of a wide selection in their stationery products. If you like strolling around bookstores and also like Japanese products, first of all, you are officially my friend :P and Kinokuniya is hence perfect for you.
Be careful though, don't buy your back to school supplies here unless you have a high budget. You can definitely find decent folders in popular instead of the high tech and expensive Japanese ones.
Art Friend
Best for: art students or amateurs
Price range: 💸💸
Art friend is great for those who need quality art supplies. Even though the store is not well organised, if you have specific needs of art supplies you will definitely find them there. I’m not an artist myself, so I haven’t much been to Art Friend, but my friend who takes art classes always goes there if she needs anything art related. Beware of the price tags though: as the quality of the supply rises, so will the price. If you are just a student who needs basic stationery, I don’t recommend Art Friend.
Recommended Art Friend shop: the one in Bras Basah Complex (again)

REBEL DX GROUP NEWS. Tack, JE1CKA, announced on Twitter this past week:
“T33T #Banaba has been postponed to next year. I will do my best to 3Y0I.
I think the details will be announced around October.”
QSL via his home callsign direct.
