playing a roulette every time i bring up my writing in society between whether it is going to be one of the best things that ever happened to me or whether it is going to be a marvellous social blunder

AuDHD is so funny sometimes like what do you mean my hyperfixations/special interests will last for years on end or possibly forever but they will cycle out every month or two with absolutely no transitional period or warning. like i will think about the same topic every day obsessively for 46 days in a row and on the 47th day with no visible cause adhd brain goes "ok! bored of that now" and autism brain goes "dw i got something queued up for ya" and i blast into full blown obsession on some other topic whose mental file folders haven't opened in 9 months. brain's out here treating hyperfixations like a crop rotation. once the dopamine runs out it cycles in another one but once something's in the rotation it never ever leaves. last summer we brought in one from when i was 11. it's so funny to me but frustrating too bc like. i cannot stress enough my inability to predict or control this. or how completely abrupt and random it can be

HEAD IN HANDS,,,, Just realized the profound realization that at Knight of Dawn and Meleanor's fight, I know they'll never talk it out... But I just realized that the story even expresses that fact visually....

throughout their fight and even until their death, they stayed at their "masked" form.

So, in Knight of Dawn's view, Meleanor was just a dragon and why the story makes it seem like he's just "insensitive" to the fact she's a living person too, because in that fight, he viewed her a monstrous dragon because Meleanor fought him as that. And, Dawn as a human, can't possibly interpret Meleanor's language as a dragon, much like how Humans are inept in fae language and why humans are still having a difficult time understanding faes and their morals.

The same thing with Meleanor, Knight of Dawn was in full armor in that time, so in Meleanor's point of view, Knight of Dawn was just "a piece of metals". (Like how Malleus viewed Ortho as just a "metallic technology"). Additionally, Knight of Dawn was a person who seem to want to say many things but never did(?), so Meleanor never heard him—

So their resistance, in giving up their role was expressed in the narrative decision that Meleanor fights as a dragon and Knight of Dawn will fight her in full armor and also he's a person who doesn't speak much especially in battles (much like a "metal").

Dawn was only "understood" somewhat when he crashed to Lilia, causing his head armor to fall off.... causing his "mask" to fall off

Its the little things to me OKAYY 🥹🥹😭😭

Sometimes I feel like a lot of people focus so much on the most dramatically angsty points of Dick and Bruce's relationship that they forget that these guys actually get along and genuinely like each other most of the time.

Like!! It's the fact that they HAVE gotten along like a house on fire for so LONG that makes the angst so incredibly intense when it happens. Dick hasn't spent the majority of his life secretly hating Bruce or whatever.

#even at their worst they're always back on decent terms by the end of the story #i'd say concerningly quickly sometimes but these are superhero comics #expecting *too* much emotional depth from your superhero comics is setting yourself up for disappointment #also something something bruce's coldification #that's a whole other issue #but even coldified he's still not as cold as some fans seem to think he is #once again none of this is to say that he's always great or anything #just that the lack of nuance (in either the good or bad direction) leaves me going blegh #vintagerobin.txt
