If you have encountered them before then maybe you would have remembered them somehow but NO.

Your friend has cut the video call when she finds out how you are zoning out and her being overseas is not really possible to be on the call for too long because of the differ in time zone. You haven’t notice yet the blank screen before you as the screen turned black under being no use for more than thirty seconds. You turn to look outside the window, the wind blowing slowly but enough to wave your curtains and your locks dancing to the breeze. The evening was pretty nice and so you thought to have some time for yourself, the activities you like to do on your spare time. Well, when he spoke, the only sound you could hear was his and the shore was strangely silent.

“Huh?”

Giving you a soft smile, he gave you a paper. Taking the paper from his hand, you could see how beautifully painted was the view with a girl facing the sea under the sun in an afternoon. Just like you. The difference was only you were in a gloomy mood and the girl in the painting was somewhat happy.

“Do you like it?”

“Hm. This is so nice. Have you painted it?”

“Yes. Just now when you were lost in your thoughts.”

“Uh y-yeah. The girl in this picture seems so lively unlike me.”

“Nothing is there to be sad you know. We should leave behind the past and stay happy with the ones you are currently with. Like these blue waves always washing the shore and keeping it look so refreshing so let your sad thoughts flow away with these waves and lock your memories safe.”

He came closer to your form, palm resting on your cheek, fingers brushing the dried-up tears.

“Let someone guide you to the right path when you are needed. Blue represents hope and let these blue waves give you some hope to be cheerful always.”

With a last glance, he went away leaving the piece of paper with you. Glancing to the corner of the paper, there was a signature with a name ‘Renjun.’

You have a new memory and interest to come to seaside often. Well, surprisingly everyday you would find that the boy be painting there as if he waiting for your arrival. The blue waves must have some magic with hopes.

‘pretzel’ and ‘yoghurt shake’

Craving for snacks is a daily part of your life. Glancing at the clock you found out its already late night but it didn’t matter when the convenience store would be open whenever you would go there. So, just picking up your phone and wallet, you made up your mind to head out. Locking the door, you walked down the streets towards the store. The night was chilly unlike other days and you hugged yourself, also your heart suddenly racing for how unusually the place was quiet and dark a bit. Calming yourself, you hurriedly made your way when the neo signboard of the store was in your sight.

Quickly getting inside the store, the bell ringing alarming the person at counter of your arrival. She frowned while getting up as why you were breathing heavily. Asking you if you needed any help, you shook your head and waved your hands in front, laughing awkwardly and told that how everything was fine. You were well aware of the place that how it was so safe to roam around in late hours but still you felt that someone was following you and you couldn’t ignore how your heart was racing. Was it due to the fear or it was signalling something else? Shaking your doubts, you went towards your usual snack centre.

Eyes taking in all the products available and you could see how some things were out of stock and many were newly arrived. Some things were very new to you as you haven’t seen them before so you squinted your eyes to read the names as it was on a top shelf and the way light was falling on it, making it difficult to read.

“Dream Pretzel.”

You got startled when a husky and dark voice spoke behind you. Your back hit his chest and you quickly turned around hoping he would move away a bit before you could reply him. But no. He remained on his place and now you were looking up to his height and him towering you with a dark expression. You looked around you to see if anyone was watching you or not but thankfully you were alone with him. Thankfully? Alone? No, I should tell him to move.

“Can you please move back a bit? Thank you.”

His eyes scanning your face and you could feel he was not having any intention to move. Gulping you tried to push him, hands on his chest over his black t-shirt. He quickly took a hold of your wrist and gripped it tighter, you winced under his strong hold.

“I have to take the item from that shelf so its you who is blocking my way.”

Releasing a heavy breath, you made your attempt to move to the side but before you could, he raised his hands and pressed his body in front to grab a packet from the top shelf. You panicked and your eyes went wide due to his actions. Getting the item in his hold, he scooted backwards, giving you some space to breathe finally. You were frozen and mentally screaming what just happened right now. He stared at you intensely and under his gaze, you were feeling so exposed even when you were fully covered in hoodie and trouser. You avert your eyes away from him and with slow steps, you went to the other shelf.

Deciding on the item you wanted to pick for your craving, your view got blocked when suddenly a snack was placed in front of your eyes. Annoyedly, you craned to look who was the person. And. that boy again, but he was gesturing you to grab the item from his hand. You hesitantly held it and without speaking a word, he turned around. You looked down to the item and it was the pretzel.

“Thank you……”

“Jeno…..it’s nice….you will like the taste.”

A smile appeared on your face and with that you went towards the drink section. Oblivion to you, he was smiling all the way out of the store. Arriving to the drink section, to your disappointment, your favorite drink was not available so you decided to leave the drink for that day and just go back with hot sauce snack or maybe some other snacks. Satisfied with your decision, you grabbed some other things in your way to the counter, the cashier smiled at you. Scanning the items, you noticed how she kept the pretzel packet on the other side with a yoghurt shake. A frown appeared on your face and the cashier told you about the total cost.

“That pretzel?”

“Oh sure. Its yours but the boy came here before has already paid for it and another boy who was with him paid for the shake and asked me to give it you.”

“Another boy?”

“Hm. They were together and they bought these for themselves too. You must be close to them that they bought these for you and they come here often but I haven’t seen you with them anytime. Are you, their girlfriend?”

“What? No no. I- I don’t know them. We just met few minutes back….”

“Oh. Here is your item ma’am. Have a safe night ahead.”

After greeting each other goodbye, you made your way back on the same road which seems more-lonely than before. You felt that creepy feeling rising up your spines and goosebumps appearing on your skin when you felt eyes on you. Someone might be watching from the dark. But who? And why? Isn’t this place safe for the people but that feeling of being watched could not be ignored. Your attempt to run was interrupted when you felt a hand resting on your shoulder from behind.

“AAAAAAAHHH.”

“Shhh. Wow. You scream so loud.”

“W-who are you?”

A ghost? A kidnapper? A murderer? No no no. please why me? You just wanted to have some time for yourself with snacks and binge watch dramas but you didn’t think of getting yourself in such situation anyhow.

“I am not a ghost.” In a weird accent, the voice spoke up and you somehow hoped the person to be ghost.

“Please…let me go…I want to go home.”

“I wont hurt you. I just want to say you something.”

You slowly turned around to meet the voice. You stared to the smiling face and his shining eyes under the streetlight, he looking so cute with that smile. You nodded to tell him to proceed whatever he wants to tell you. He glanced at your hand which was holding the items you bought previously.

“Drink that shake. It is a rare one and I know that you will like it.”

You glanced at the plastic bag in your hand and in confusion, you look towards him. You were still thinking how he knew about the shake as it was not visible from outside then it’s only possible if he was stalking you. The eyes watching you all these times must be him. Oh wait. This shake was given by someone then maybe he is that person but why he is approaching you like a creep. He could have offered you in that store in person and not mentioning about it here in the lonely streets. Well, lonely…his presence was no more making you feel alone rather you were at ease and feeling…safe. I should not feel this right now.

“Are you the person who bought me this?”

His smile widened and he was grinning towards you like a little boy who got his candy after whining for too long. He nodded and pinched your nose.

“That’s a gift for you. We are neighbours and I thought I should start our friendship like this.”

“Oh thanks.” You offered a kind smile to him. “But you could have given me before then we would have been friends then and there.”

“well, I was scared of the rejection and I’m kind of shy and also my friend was in hurry for something.”

“Okay.”

You nodded on his words. Suddenly, he came closer to you than before and you became cautious of the situation and scooted back. He noticed your action and a hurt expression appeared on his face but quickly he showed you his sweet smile. You awkwardly mimicked the smile when he offered his hand for a shake. Your mind recalled the situation with mark and a thought came across your mind that after that event how you are meeting so many new people in your life. Maybe, without your friend in the town, you are finally socializing with people. Unlike before, you gladly accepted his hand and shook with a shy and awkward smile.

“We are friends now. Myself Jaemin.”

“Nice to meet you Jaemin. This is Y/N.”

His grip tightened and he closed his eyes with a sly smile resting on his face. He was memorizing how you sweet voice voiced out his name and he could never be happier than hearing his name from you. Opening his eyes, he brought your hands up to his lips to press a soft kiss on your knuckles. You were lost in admiring his features that you didn’t notice his actions until you felt his cold lips against your skin. Shy? He is a damn flirt.

“Let’s head back home. Its pretty late. Even if the place is safe, you don’t know what mysteries are hiding behind the dark.”

Agreeing with him, you both went back to your way. Then, you noticed how he really was your neighbour but you didn’t come across with each other’s path before.

After that day, you somehow felt an eagerness to pass through the convenience store everyday after having the skating lesson with Mark in the park. On arriving everyday to the store, you could see Jaemin drinking a yoghurt milk and grinningly waiting for you and also, Jeno stealing glances from the side while being busy playing games on his phone. The must be very close with each other that they always being together.

‘Poison’

Waiting. That’s what you were literally doing for past fifteen minutes but still not seeing any sight of the person. It’s quite a late afternoon and you were so happy today. Why? Just because you nowadays feel happy after coming from your daily tour from the seaside. And today, you spent a bit more time with that blue wave guy. You chuckled on your own thought as what a silly nickname you have given him. With a little pout, you shrink in your seat. He usually comes running to you when he would see you sitting there. You casted a glance to your skateboard and well you could see the teddy bear sticker on it and that was what Mark had sticked on it last day.

“So, who is that lucky person you are thinking about?”

Craning your neck, you could see a guy chewing a gum and giving you a teasing smirk and shielding his eyes with a sunglass. With striking a pose, he brushed his hairs backward and when he felt your eyes on him, his smirk became wide. With a striking walk, he came beside you and sat on the empty place.

“Who are you?”

“You don’t know me? That’s so bad.”

He asked you and fake gasped when you shook your head. He was reacting as if it’s your fault in not being aware of his status. A frown appeared on your face and your expressions were totally how you were judging his over dramatic self.

“Why is it important to know?”

Clearing his throat, he turned his body towards your direction, placing a hand on head of the seat and placing the leg over another, striking a sassy pose. You pressed your lips just to prevent yourself showing your annoyance to him and being rude on your first meeting.

“Everyone in this colony knows about me and I’m honestly surprised that you don’t know me.”

“Okay?”

“Yah! Why are you so casual about it? Don’t I stand out among all the boys here.”

Honestly, he stands out. It was because you haven’t encountered any other boy with such a unique personality who acts like this on their first meeting even with a girl. Every guy tries to be formal or shy when interacting but this boy was totally over confident about himself and somewhere deep inside you were enjoying his company while waiting for Mark. You laughed lightly at his annoyed expression but quickly regained your composure when you saw him taking off his sunglasses and glaring at you.

“So how was your little ride from seaside?”

“What?”

How does he know about you? You were literally scared when he asked it and you thought that he might be some kind of stalker who was acting dumb in front of you.

“I’m not a stalker. That’s a very cheap name for me. Haechan is my name. I’m friends with Renjun and Mark so I know you.”

“oh.” So, they have talked about me among themselves. Why? They haven’t mentioned about being known to each other. Oh wait. You haven’t told them about each other then why they will tell you. But this boy is telling that they have talked about you then they must know now.

“Take this, you are overthinking too much. It looks like you don’t interact with people that much and that’s how you think about all the worst possibilities of everything.”

You watched how he took out a gum strip from a small pocket sized box and offered you to take it. You stared at that.

“What if it’s poison and then you might kidnap me?”

“That’s true. But to your luck, I don’t carry those cheap and useless stuffs in my precious and luxury jacket’s pocket. You are the poison to my mind you know. When they talk about you, after that you are stuck in my head and it’s so relaxing to see the angel in person.”

Again, that damn smirk reappeared on his face.

“Also, I would not attempt to pull out such a stunt in front of these much of people, right my Y/N?”

Gesturing with his open palm to all the people spread across the park. He pointed with his chin to take the gum and you accepted it. Satisfied with you, he gave you a teasing grin and eyes scanned your form.

“Haechan. What are you doing here? And.... oh Y/N?”

“I was waiting for you Mark.” you smiled.

“And me being a gentleman was accompanying her unlike you who kept her waiting here for so long.”

“Oh me. I’m sorry. I was just stuck in an important work and couldn’t make it on time.”

Haechan made a ‘tsk’ sound and stared at him to which the latter glared at him and it was of no effect on him because he smiled back to him.

“it’s okay Mark. I was….enjoying his company.”

Damn. His smug face was mocking his friend whose coming late was up to his satisfaction that he got to spend time with you.

“I’m sorry Y/N but I cant spend time with you today as I have to go somewhere and I thought you must be here so I came running here to tell you.” He awkwardly smiled to you and shuffled his hairs and honestly you found it too attractive.

“it’s okay. I can understand.”

Hanging his arm around Haechan’s neck, he bid you goodbye and your eyes followed how they were fighting and bickering jokingly while making their way out of the park. Looking down to the gum in your hand, your eyes widen when a paper folded into tiny folds was attached to it. On unfolding it, you found out the scribbles on it and you giggled.

‘This is my number below. If he makes you wait again, call me and I will tell you about his whereabout. Save the number, ~Haechan.’

‘Broken Melodies’

Suddenly today you are feeling to go through the confession page of your office. One might wonder as if why you were suddenly wanting to go through that site when you are never really interested in those stuffs. Well, the real matter was that you heard a rumor that one of your mangers has proposed his employee and everyone was fangirling over the fact. Surprisingly, even you. You were not expecting something like that for you but was really curious on the fact that how does that page look like. How people actually confess there? As far as You heard, the manager was an anonymous character there then how come everyone knows about it? Did that girl inform them?

You took your laptop and sat comfortably leaning to the headboard with it on your lap. You remembered the name of the page and typed in your Instagram account. The account popped up and you quickly clicked on it. You opened the first post and read the confession. You giggled on the cute message. Eyes reading all the posts when suddenly a particular post made you stop. The person had mentioned his name, well only his account name on Instagram ‘Broken melodies’.

I fell in love again, with her...again. I tried everyday to teach me how to unlove someone. Looking up to the sky, I have told myself countable times that I am capable of leaving her there. But… I cant get her out of my mind even if I hate her. I hate when I see those eyes staring back at me as if I am a stranger and we never knew each other. Whenever she comes near to me, those memories come across my mind along with her presence. Huh! Then only I can realize how I have treasured every moment spend together. Maybe we have made some mistakes back then and I should keep in mind not to repeat them again when she is close to me again. Again, in my life. I want to keep her with me. She is my everything but I’m just a stranger to her. I want to spend my every seven days of a week with you. Can we turn it back again?

I want to sing to her and see her smile again. Those admiration for me in her eyes, I miss them. My songs were the most melodious tunes with her but they are just the broken melodies without her.

“Oh damn. Who is this? I want her to get back to him. I don’t want him to sing alone, she should see this. But I haven’t heard any break up story in our work place.”

Thinking on the gossips you heard all in the past and recently, you tried to remember any story like this. Oh wait. Then this person has a lover from outside the work place.

Smiling, you like the post and commented.

‘You will get her soon.’

Within two minutes, you got a notification from Instagram and it was of someone liked your comment and when you opened the banner, it was from ‘Broken Melodies’.

Somewhere in a cold room, a smiling boy smiling and staring at his phone in his hand on reading a comment. He quickly liked it and sent a follow request to the account. Found it. He shook his head when he realised how he was smiling like a fool, maybe a fool in love.

“Chenle…Why are you smiling at the screen? What’s there so interesting that you couldn’t hear me calling out your name?”

“I have found her profile.”

“Whose?”

“Y/N.”

The latter boy just shook his head but not because he thought his friend was silly but he was going to ask him for the profile and the owner of that account later that night.

“Are you coming?”

“YES. HAECHAN!”

“You didn’t have to scream so loud. Aish, my ears will bleed soon.”

Chenle started laughing on seeing his friend’s dramatic attempt to press his palms over his ears and fake crying that he couldn’t hear anything anymore.

You accepted the profile when you thought he must be another worker from your office as all other employees you know were already friends with him. This is how the story begins with the pages being turned over to the initial.

‘Starry night’

“Have you ever wondered if anybody is looking back to from up there?”

You turned to your supposed to be high school classmate. He was already staring at the sky and was attempting to count the stars. Your thoughtful expression glanced at him and avert your eyes back to the sky.

Is there?

“I don’t know….”

“There is someone or should say some people.”

His eyes taking in the view, how the moonlight falling over you and you were still managing to glow. To some other eyes, you might be a common person standing to the side leaning against the pillar on the bridge with your boyfriend but to him you were the most shining star under the night sky at that moment. He met you at the bus stand few days back when you were returning from your work and he was so happy to meet you after so many years. You were confused when he first introduced himself but you then realised that he was the quiet and nerdy boy in your class.

It was Sunday evening when you both decided to have a meet up to chat and relive those old school memories. He was still a shy boy but you saw how he has gained so much confidence unlike before because of which he could approach you that day.

“You are telling it the way as if you are sure and can prove it if possible.”

“I can.”

“huh?’

“There are many things you still don’t know, Y/N.”

“And you know?”

“Perhaps yes.”

“Jisung?”

“Hm…”

“Have you lost someone to up there?”

Silence. That's what you got in return after you asked the question to him. You casted a worried glance towards him to see if you have crossed your boundaries and asked any question that might be too sensitive to him in some ways. When you were about to apologize to him, he turned around and cupped your face and you watched how a tear fell sliding through his cheeks, the end of tear line reflecting the moonlight.

“Yes. A very precious one.”

“Can’t you………get back them again?”

“I have got her back again. Very close to my heart and the person will be there with me all night long under this starry blanket of the night sky.”

“That’s really nice.”

……………………..

Your hands went up to touch your cheeks and felt tears falling, similarly the way you had seen on Jisung’s face. Why are you crying? It was not you who lost someone except your parents but the way he was saying those words while staring directly to your eyes felt so real like as if he was directing the words to you.

You glanced at the clock and it was already so late and you looked at the snacks kept on the table which you bought from the store before calling your friend. When the clock shows how late you were and the nest day you need to wake up early for your work, you realised you were zoning out for too long, thinking about the encounters with these seven boys. The encounters were like a dream occurring in the reality.

Arranging everything as per your routine before bed, you went on to have a sleep to rest your mind and body after having your little trips to different places.

You have to arrange the pieces to the puzzle of your life. These boys seem like the missing puzzle pieces and are to fix your life into a final piece.

RADIO SILENCE ,, chap 06 — mark lee

synopsis. hwang y/n and park sunghoon do not like each other. end of story. god knows why (well actually, niki is the only one who knows why). but when they’re put as co-hosts on a radio show, they’re bound to bond.

the song outro faded and sunghoon looked over at you. you were squirming in your seat, leg bouncing up and down. the sign on air switched and as you took a breath to calm down, you caught eye contact with your co-host. when you see the shit eating grin on his face, you know you’re doomed.

“y/n, you seem nervous today” sunghoon chuckled, earning a scoff from you

“ah… well… i do have the one and only nct dream in front of me right now so…” you hesitate, sending a shy smile in return “and mark lee”

“and mark lee” mark himself repeated, giggling and fixing his headphones “don’t be nervous, dude!”

it was a reason why you were acting like that today. but also, you didn’t feel too good. maybe it’s the stress connected with your upcoming comeback, maybe it’s the pressure and messily planned photoshoot that you had yesterday until late hours. or the cover you’ll be filming after this. oooor maybe it was the undercooked noodles you ate for dinner…?

“i’m… trying not to be” you let out a scoff, earning a worried look from jaemin “but, let’s focus on you! congratulations on your latest comeback, istj! our listeners will hear the title song in a while but in the meantime, tell us about your mbtis!”

“well–“ jaemin started, mischievous glint in his eye

“if you say your mbti is sexy i will throw my shoe at you” you cut in, causing his friends to laugh, sunghoon too

“well… tell me about your mbti first then, miss” jaemin huffed, clearly bothered you exposed his joke

“dpmo” you grinned, pretending to lean down to take off your shoe.

“huh?” sunghoon cooed, shaking his head.

“don’t piss me off” you grunted, earning another giggle from mark.

“that’s a good one dude” he said and you smiled wildly, bowing your head.

“ha, mark lee complimented my joke” you poked sunghoon’s arm in teasing manner, jaemin side eyeing you. realisation hit you, causing you to shift away from the boy. clearing your throat, sunghoon took over.

“coming back to the mbti… did you take a test recently?” he asked, glancing at the paper sheet “because it’s known mbti tends to change over the years, sometimes months...”

the rest of the interview went smoothly, jaemin kicking your leg every time you stole his joke. you were glad your friend was here. and because two people that knew you really well were in the room, they could tell something was off.

“–no?” sunghoon asked mark, to which he just nodded. you blinked, not realising when the time even passed. looking at the time, you knew you have to do the closing.

“okay, can i tell one last joke?” you spoke up, smiling. jaemin looked at you suspiciously, gesturing you to do on.

“i hope it won’t be as lame as the one you told last time” sunghoon murmured. you just scoffed; he didn’t realise he just insulted jaemin with that too.

“uhm, okay… knock knock” you turned to sunghoon, fighting a smile.

“who’s there?” he asked, frowning.

“tank”

“tank who?” sunghoon asked and realised that it sounded like thank you.

“you’re welcome” you grinned, jaemin bursting out with laughter. leaning in over the table to high five with him, the room got a little dizzy.

“ah” your co-host grunted, blinking slowly “well, i believe our listers will be relieved to know that we’ll be playing istj now, and your awful joke teller will be gone for the rest of the day”

“pff…” you scoffed, sitting back. black spots appeared in front of your eyes, dang you stood up to quickly. or maybe it’s the closed window, it’s really stuffy here “welp, thank you for listening! today with you it was jaemin and mark of nct dream, along with me, y/n–”

“–hoon” sunghoon cut in, the red sign turning off.

you smiled, standing up.

“i’ll be back in a second” you announced, leaving the room hurriedly. the weird sensation in your body overtook you and you knew you need to catch some fresh air, maybe some water too.

opening a random window in the hallway you leaned in, taking a deep breath and closing your eyes. embraced in the feeling, you failed to notice someone approaching.

“hey, y/n? everything alright?”

you nodded weakly upon hearing sunghoon’s voice.

“i brought you some water, you looked pale” he mumbled, placing the bottle in front of you “do you need anything?”

you curled your arms, your head plopping down. sunghoon hesitated and looked around. no one was nearby.

he placed a hand on your back, patting it soothingly. and your tensed body started to relax.

“just be careful because the water–“ he started but too late; wanting to support your chin on your hands, you knocked something over.

your eyes shot open and you only noticed the water bottle rolling out of the window.

“shit!” you yelled out. both of you leaned over the window, looking at the bottle falling – luckily – straight into an open garbage bin. sunghoon pointed at a guy who turned around, startled because of the noise. looking his way, he saw you and started cussing you out.

you turned around and looked at each other at the same time, which caused you to start laughing; sunghoon’s vampire-alike fangs poking out. the laugh was tender, sincere.

“i’ll bring you a new one” he said softly, shaking his head with a smile “don’t fall out yourself”

you nodded, and caught yourself subconsciously smiling.

Also, some questions refer to the Choose-Your-Own-Adventure game I made, so to avoid spoilers for those of you who haven't played it, I put those asks all the way at the bottom. If you haven't played my game yet, please go play it!

PERSONAL ASKS

Anon asked: E-vay may i ask which tablet mark do you use for your drawings?

And dreamylumi-art asked: Was wondering what is your favorite brushes In Procreate? Your drawings look so fun and bouncy that I’m interested in your process!

A: I use an iPad and I do all my drawings in Procreate now. I like to experiment with brushes, but the primary brushes I use come standard with Procreate. I use the "Procreate Pencil" for my sketches and the "Technical Pen" for linework :)

Anon asked: How are u and ur family doing? ❤️

A: You are so very sweet for asking ❤️ We're all doing really good right now. My dad's surgery went great and he's cancer free and fully healed. My mom is on medication that's helped her a lot. Things are also looking up for my younger sister (she even got engaged this Christmas!). I'm stressed but for good reasons hahaha I'm very thankful and counting my blessings right now.

A: I can't say that I have, I'm sorry! My Tiktok FYP is very niche so I don't see many things about movies on there.

A: I had not known about this before you told me! I just listened to it and I really loved it. It has that beautiful, 60's-Beatles feel to me. Thank you so much for point it out to me!

Anon asked: What's your creative process when going into writing / planning for a comic? Apologies if this has been asked before.

A: I normally start by just jotting down any super rough concepts/quotes in my notes app. If the piece I'm doing involves stuff I don't know by heart (renaissance clothing or certain landscapes or anything like that) I'll work on gathering a TON of resource images. That way I'm not interrupting my drawing process by repeatedly stopping to look up references. I try to do it all up front and have it saved somewhere I can easily access.

Once I have more time, I'll write out the script in a Google Doc. I break up the script by each panel. I won't always have all the elements ready in my head, and sometimes I'll combine panels or separate them more, but I can always adjust:

Once I have a basic script, I can start to rough out the drawings/panels. These are just gestural drawings; I'm not looking to do anything too detailed here. I'm trying to figure out what best captures the emotions/energy of the scene and determine the natural flow of where your eyes will want to read the art and word bubbles:

Then I move on to the "pencils." This is my opportunity to nail down the expressions and flow. Sometimes I'll realize the page is imbalanced so I will redesign the panels so it has more even weight distribution or make it more dynamic/emotional. I always draw the characters in different colors so it can help me make sure I know what lines belong to which character:

Then it's on to all the fun stuff: Lines, coloring, shading and adding text!

A: I'm sorry, I've never seen it! I don't watch much anime anymore.

Anon asked: Can you make different characters(aka people sonic characters/oc) in your own style

A: When I'm open for commissions, yes! I am not open for commissions at the moment but I plan on doing that this year.

MISC SONIC ASKS

chrismantike asked: What’re your thoughts on longclaw (the owl from the sonic movie) does she exist in your AU as Sonic’s mom?

A: I liked the relationship we saw between Longclaw and baby Sonic in the movie, but I consider the movie as something entirely separate from the game/comic canon. I don't include any of the movie elements as part of my AU.

essycogany asked: What do you like most about Prime!Sonic?

A: Hmm, I think my favorite thing about him is how open he is with his emotions. In this show, he's very verbal about how much he cares about his friends and he doesn't hide it when he's sad or upset about something. In other media, Sonic has a habit of masking his emotions. I get that that's part of his personality, but it's nice to see this different side of him. (I also like how he showed more emotions in Frontiers, too!)

juli071023 asked: e-vay, what motivates you a lot about Sonic these years, why do you love it a lot, what motivates you about that character?

A: In the words of Young Neil, 'that's kind of a big question' haha. Simply put, the franchise just fuels me with excitement and joy and love! The character Sonic represents happiness and freedom and living in the moment and loving life to the fullest and I think that's such a great outlook to have. From a meta standpoint, I love how good the Sonic Team is to us fans. They engage with us regularly and put out SO MUCH CONTENT for us, more than any other franchise I'm aware of! I mean there are plenty of other great IPs out there, but you don't get the bombardment of games and shows and comics and social media engagement (etc) that you get with Sonic. I just think that's so cool! The fans love Sonic so much and the creators know that and reward us for our commitment. It's awesome.

Anon asked: So who do you think would win in a fight between Mario and Sonic

A: I gotta go with my boy Sonic! But of course it's better when they team up :D

Anon asked: How do you feel about the Dadow theory/au? As in Shadow being Silvers Dad. I honestly like it a lot.

A: If they're related, I think it makes more sense for Shadow to be Silver's grandpa or great grandparent. I think there are plot holes to say that he's directly his dad but I'm definitely open to them being related. Plus I think people can headcanon/au just about whatever they want, so I'm not against that theory :)

Anon asked: Hi e-vay, I hope you’re having a great day!! My question is: if there were to be a Sonic movie that’s only about Sonic and the guys but they were all being played by human actors, which actors do you think would suit them best?

A: Thank you so much, I hope you are too! Oh man this was so difficult but I put a ton of thought into it. And I'm sure there are still tons of actors I'm not thinking of who would be better, but here's what my gut tells me: Older Sonic: Max Greenfield [x] [x] or Jack Quaid [x] [x]. They're so witty and handsome and are built like runners! Younger Sonic: Jack Dylan Grazer Older Amy: Alison Brie. Even if it wasn't a live action movie, I so desperately wish that Alison Brie could be Amy's voice actor. I'm actually working on an animation where Amy is paired with some Alison Brie lines because I think it's such a perfect fit. She's sweet and funny and strong and sexy. She's on the petite side but she has that confidence that just commands a room. Ugh, Amy and Alison are my dream women 💖 Younger Amy: McKenna Grace Older Tails: Justice Smith or Cole Sprouse Younger Tails: Noah Jupe or Jacob Tremblay. Sorry, I don't know many young actors but I think they're both great! Anon asked: How old are the sonic boom characters in your opinion?

A: Firstly, I've said this before but I don't think Mobian age works the same as human age. I consider the Sonic Boom characters as all being what we'd consider as late teens or young adults. They all act like me and my friends did when were were college age haha

Anon asked: What do u think tails looked/acted during puberty🙂

A: That's what Tall!Tails is all about! I think he shot up in height and outgrew Sonic immediately. Maybe he got a bit more snarky and might mutter about how annoying it is that Sonic doesn't think things through before acting, but Tails is a sweetheart and I think he'd overall still be nice even while he's in that awkward stage of life.

A: Thank you so much! No, they aren't aware of any other versions of them out there. Ruff would probably be most hopeful to meet other versions of himself since he's into comic books and would love the concept of the multiverse.

A: I have too many OCs to do all of them lol But I'll do it for Aurora and CC. As Aurora, the results from the test were: "ENFP-T Campaigner" As CC, the results from the test were: "INTJ-A Architect"

Anon asked: Question, how is Aurora able to glow ?

A: Aurora has photokinesis, which gives her the ability to manipulate light. This results in a lot of things she's able to do that involve light, but glowing is the easiest thing for her to do (and is the hardest for her to suppress lol). She was born with these abilities but they didn't manifest until she was about preteen age.

charlieangel345 asked: You know everytime I saw Aurora glow up, her photokinesis power changes color. It made me wonder if she feel happy, angry, or sad, her light power might change colors. I can imagine she can create rainbow light.

A: Absolutely! Her powers are severely influenced by her emotions, so the color of her glow would definitely change based on her feelings. I have her inhibitors glow green naturally, but she could do any color under the light spectrum.

freshcreationgarden asked: I like to think Aurora's favorite fairytale growing up was beauty and the beast. Something about a handsome prince who hides beneath a rough exterior who believes they are not worthy of love who is bound to a "Rose"

A: Oh that is just too sweet! That metaphor is very perfect for what I write for her romantic future ;) I have said in a previous ask that Thumbelina is her favorite fairytale, but I like your headcanon too!

Anon asked: Hi, something randomly popped in my head about like the comics of aurora and I wondered, has aurora ever gotten sick?

A: Of course! She's just a regularly lady so she gets sick like average people do. I see her as the type that doesn't get sick often, but when she does it LAAAASTS. (That's how I am and it sucks!)

Anon asked: I know this might be a weird question, but can it be possible if Aurora can do chaos control with a chaos emerald like Sonic and Shadow.

A: I'll be honest, because we don't know much about Chaos Emeralds, I don't know who is capable of using them or not. But because Sonic is capable of using Chaos Control, I'm going to say yes Aurora should be able to as well. I don't think it's a technique either of them can master like Shadow does. Chaos Control seems second nature to Shadow.

Anon asked: if we go by sonic underground lore imagine Aurora finding out that she's technically a princess/duchess. Like sonic always call her princess because that's what dad's typically call their daughters, but then she finds out and her mind just explodes.

A: Honestly, I'm not a Sonic Underground fan. I know a lot of people love it for the nostalgia, but I didn't watch it growing up so I don't have any ties to it and I am not a fan of the story. I'm okay if people want to headcanon tying it in, but it's not for me.

A: Thank you so much, I'm so happy to be back! Yeah, Rouge really knew what she was talking about 😆 I bet she told Shadow the same thing when they were expecting!

Anon asked: Does aroura ever run into her ex again?

A: Aurora spends most of her life in a small bubble, rarely leaving her home town, so she would have run into him now and then. Again though, they were kids when they were "boyfriend/girlfriend" and you can hardly even call them that (Imagine like in the Barbie movie, how Ken and Barbie don't know what it means to be Girlfriend-Boyfriend) so it's not awkward running into each other. It's more of a "Hey there's that person I used to know"

prophecyhyper asked: When Aurora was born and Amy said "She's more perfect than I imagined" What did she imagine of Aurora looking like?

A: She didn't have an exact image in mind when she said that. It was more like an amorphous concept. You know somehow the baby will look like you and your partner, but there are so many different outcomes. So she would have daydreamed about all the possibilities: the baby looking more like Sonic, the baby looking more like her, maybe the baby having elements of their grandparents.

Anon asked: Will Sage exist in your AU?

A: Yes! I adore Sage!

A: This was a great question and I'm so sorry I missed it before the holidays! This is all in fun, none of them got punished: Piper: Nice but ONLY after Santa had to give her a lecture on how she needs to not be a smartass and boss around her siblings Zane: Naughty (He did too many stunts indoors!) Nova: Nice Aster: Naughty (He and Blitz plotted to kidnap Santa) Blitz: Naughty (She finds it a point of pride) Diamond: Nice Cinder: Nice (He's scared of Santa) Boon: NICE! A: Aw I'm so happy you liked it! Yes, learning to spin dash is vital to a hedgehog's upbringing ;) She'd teach them very young but then immediately regret it because they'd be spindashing all over the house. Now she knows why Sonic was so hesitant to teach her when she was little!

A: Hahaha I loved this question! First of all, Spooky Season is never over for me! ↜(ˈ╰ •ω•)╯ψ So bring on all your Halloweeny ideas! CC would not be fun to watch horror movies with. She would be overly analytical, not only of the actions that the victims are doing but how unrealistic the injuries/gore/battles are haha. I see Tails as someone who originally was afraid of scary movies, but watching them with CC has actually helped him to be less afraid of them. Now he spots the same flaws she does and they like to roast them together! Just to clarify -- CC does get scared of things, just not horror movies.

Anon asked: Hey, I rediscovered your art recently and almost forgot how much I loved it! I love CC and was wondering if you had any small head cannon kinda things you have for her and Tails you would share that you haven't already?

A: Well welcome back and thank you so very much! This question was not related to the previous question, but the previous question sparked an idea for me so I'm going to expand on it here. When Tails and CC first started watching horror movies together, CC noticed that Tails was super on edge. To help relax him, she'd take his tails into her lap and pet them to calm him down. He's not as scared of movies anymore, but he always has her stroke his tails while they watch shows together now :) Also, CC is still getting used to Mobian mannerisms and nuances. They've made a nightly routine where during dinner, she debriefs Tails on all the new conversations and interactions she's had with people and Tails scores her on how well she's adjusting. She likes the challenge and strives for a better "score" every day!

SHIPPING ASKS

essycogany asked: How are you feeling about the new Sonamy material from this and last year? Things are really starting to become more obvious as the years go on.

A: It does my shriveled little heart so much good! I don't know that they'll ever cross that line in canon, but I love how much their relationship has evolved compared to years ago. It means the world to me that Sonic considers Amy as one of his best friends and as someone he can depend on (and is even willing to think about dating ((in reference to that cut dialog line from Frontiers)). And I love that Amy has proven that her feelings for Sonic are more than just a fan-crush; she genuinely loves him for who he is and will always be there for him. UGH IT MAKES ME FEEL SO ALIVE!

Anon asked: I just wanted to say that I love love love your sonamy works! :D Absolutely adorable (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ Also, only if you want to answer ofc, what are your thoughts on the ship Metamy (Metal Sonic and Amy)? Thank you for the lovely food you bring and have a wonderful day!

A: Oh gosh, thank you so much! You just made my day wonderful by this sweet message! I do ship Metamy! After all, I believe in my heart of hearts that Sonic has feelings for Amy and Metal Sonic is supposed to be the same as him... ^_~ I think despite his transgressions, Amy has a special place in her heart for Metal. He's one of the reasons she even met Sonic in the first place! But what I'd prefer most is for Metal Sonic to have a Metal Amy. That way everybody wins 💕

Anon asked: Hi e-vay I love ur dr who art!! Question, do tenrose remind you of sonamy? Or do any characters or couples from the whoverse remind you of any sonic character or couples?

A: Ahhh thank you so much! I always thought my Doctor Who art got lost in the void so I'm so glad you found it! TenRose is my favorite DoctorWho ship, so I think by law I have to relate them to sonamy haha. But honestly I think RoryXAmyPond suits sonamy more if you reverse the roles. Rory's absolute dedication to AmyPond--regardless of death--was the definition of love, and that's how I feel Amy Rose is for Sonic. I can't think of any other ships that are good parallels. River Song reminds me of Rouge just that she's savvy and flirty. Forgive me, I stopped watching after Eleven regenerated so I'm not up to date on anything. If you don't like the Shadora ship then don't click this link, but I have drawn Aurora and Shadow as Ten and Rose before :)

A: Thank you so much! And I'm so relieved you still like my stuff even after all this time :) Aurora loves pop music and so yeah I could see her being a Taylor fan for sure. Although I don't take Swifty!Shadow as canon (lol) it is still fun to think they could bond over that music together!

Anon asked: what was the shadora confession like? Cause I like to imagine that it was shadow who confessed and that he did it in the most dramatic way possible, cause he's our drama king.

A: I don't want to reveal too much until I've properly drawn it, but yes for my stories Shadow would confess his love first. He's technically loved her longer since he met her when she traveled back in time to save him so once they've "re-met" I don't think he'd be willing to hide his feelings too long. It's Shadow so of course it has to be so romantic and dreamy~!

ASKS RE: MY GAME

Anon asked: How did you make the Trick Or Sweet Halloween Game, can you show me what you used or did to make it? If you can do a step by step that would be helpful or just tell me how you did it that would be helpful:))

A: Oh man... Honestly, it was way too complicated of a project to explain in just one answer. And I won't be able to explain any of the technical/coding side. I watched so many tutorials but I just couldn't grasp it, so my husband had to code it for me and I have no idea how he managed it. From a non-technical standpoint, I had to first write out the script for it. That means writing out all the dialog and also writing out every option possible. Even though my game was fairly linear, this was still complicated to write. What helped me was using icons and colors to help me know which actions would lead to which outcomes:

Then came the longest part, the drawing! I had to draw a variety of sprites and backgrounds and objects. Also, some of the actions you take make certain items go away, so I had to remember to hide them depending on the path you took. Once I had all the elements, I assembled them in a Slides presentation to test it out. If you're not doing anything too complicated, you could probably get away with making your game entirely in Google Slides. Mine was too complicated and I wouldn't be able to publish it to my website but it was good for testing. When it was ready for build, I had to make a comprehensive guide for Ryan showing what clicks lead to where, what sound effects should be played when, when the music tracks should switch, etc:

He programmed it in Adobe Animate. I don't know how he did it, other than he's just a brilliant babe and I thank god for him lol

Anon asked: Just at a curiosity though, whatever happened to everyone (especially Sonic & Amy) AFTER your truth serum wore off from your ‘Trick or Sweet Adventure’? Also how about Shadow & Rouge? Did they get affected as well?

A: They lived happily ever after, of course! If the two just told each other how they felt then they'd be happy (in my opinion) so they just needed a little magical kick in the butt haha. I didn't have any plans for Shadow or Rouge, but if I could cast a spell to make them happy then I would give Rouge a throne of diamonds and Shadow the chance to ease the pain in his heart (Ｔ▽Ｔ)

The Perilla Leaf | 18+

Summary: Jungkook is a possessive boyfriend, this is something you’ve always known. So what happens when that jealousy is put to the test?

Author’s Note: This story came to me after watching the MBTI video on YouTube with BTS. A very jealous Jungkook adamantly said he would never let his girlfriend peel a perilla leaf. He seemed so annoyed at the scenario, he couldn’t even control his foot tapping on the ground, replying No many times in pout to the members. So naturally I had to write a story about what might happen if you did just that. This is just a quickie drabble, so excuse any bad writing!

Jimin, Taehyung and yourself were seated around a table, smoke drifting up from the grill between you as you watched the meat sizzle. Jungkook should be here soon, he had to get in a workout of course before joining for drinks.

You glanced around the practically empty restaurant, this was one of the few places you could go without being bombarded by paparazzi, and even then we had to go late at night.

You tapped your phone awake, 11:26… he was supposed to be here by 11. No doubt he got wrapped up yet again working on that delicious body you had had the pleasure of being intertwined with last night.

“I’m hungry!” Taehyung whined, fingers itching towards the meat, chopsticks in hand. You knocked his hand away causing Jimin to bust out laughing, “Jk will be here any minute!” Taehyung sat back with a pout, arms crossed on his chest.

Jimin wrapped an arm around your shoulder squeezing you against his side, “I’m sure he’s just running late, don’t worry!” Could he tell the worry was starting to eat at you a little, you’d had one too many run ins with the paparazzi to feel totally comfortable being outside the safety of Jungkook’s house.

On cue Jungkook ran through the front door, tucking his wet hair back into a black cap. He sent a wide smile your way, as he slid into the seat next to you. Ruffling your hair affectionately, he pressed a soft kiss to your forehead. “Sorry I’m late, let’s eat! I’m starving!”

He grabbed the beer in front of him you thought to order ahead for him about, oh, 40 minutes ago, it was probably warm by now you thought. Downing about half of it in one go before slamming it back down on the table in satisfaction.

“Ahh, Nothing like a beer after a hard workout!” Jimin and Taehyung raised theirs glasses to drink along with him.

“Now you can eat Tae.” Jimin nudged Taehyung in the ribs jokingly as Taehyung exclaimed joyfully digging into the food like man starved. You shook your head grabbing the perilla leaves to make yourself something.

Of course all the leaves were stuck to each other like always, peeling away the first leaf you placed it on your plate along with some meat and kimchi, making a little sandwich.

“Could you hand me the perilla leaves please Y/N?” Jimin asked, motioning to the leaves you had just sat back down on the table.

“Oh yah of course!”

You went to hand him the plate of leaves, suddenly remembering the leaves were all stuck together. “Ah, wait! Let me get that for you Oppa.” Peeling off the first couple leaves that were stuck together, you handed one to Jimin. “Do you want one Tae?” He nodded, mouth too full of food to speak. You handed one over to him as well before setting the plate down on the table.

Jungkook tensed suddenly going quiet beside you, a light tapping noise resounded through the restaurant. You of course hadn’t taken any notice of Jungkooks change of mood, too engrossed in eating the meat from the grill before the boys devoured it all. You still wondered where the hell they put it? If you ate as much as them you’d surely be as big as a cow!

The plates on the table started tapping lightly against the wood, as the tapping noise increased. Jimin and Taehyung stilling as they regarded the hopping plates curiously, looking at each other and then over to Jungkook who had gone quiet.

You reached out to steady a plate before it leaped off the table, your gaze shooting to Jungkook. “Um, baby? Your gonna break all the plates if you don’t stop tapping your foot.”

The tapping stopped, Jungkook started fidgeting with the skin on his neck. He still wouldn’t meet your gaze. You gave him a soft nudge in the side whispering under your breathe as Jimin and Taehyung went back to eating.

“What’s wrong? You’re obviously upset about something..”

He shook his head a bit too aggressively, busan satoori lacing his voice, “No.”

“Excuse me?” You couldn’t help the slight laugh that escaped you. He sounded so pouty, what the heck was wrong with him. His accent had even come out so you knew something was up.

“Try again Kookie.” You prodded his side playfully.

He peeked slightly over at you, lips set in a straight line. “No, No.” He moved on to picking at the skin on his arm, his tongue peeking out to prod his lip ring.

You heaved an exasperated sigh looping your arm though his as your tugged him up from his seat. “Excuse me boys, I’ve got a pouty bunny to deal with.”

You heard Tae and Jimin laughing as you pulled a stubborn Jungkook towards the back where the bathrooms were for some privacy.

“Alright, spill it Jk. Something is obviously bothering you.” You waited patiently for him to speak, crossing your arms to show your annoyance.

“You peeled the perilla leaves.. for both of them..” He spoke so softly you almost didn’t hear him at first.

“I did what now?” Suddenly you were very confused, he was upset you had helped Jimin and Tae with the perilla leaves that had been stuck together?

“You helped Jimin and Taehyung with peeling their perilla leaves.” He spoke a bit firmer now, his dark gaze finally meeting yours.

“Wow, okay. What’s wrong with helping them? They’re our friends aren’t they, I was being considerate.”

He shook his head angrily, “No!” His foot kicking out at the wall behind him slightly. Was he seriously throwing a tantrum right now over a leaf?

“Seriously Jungkook?” An exasperated sigh left you as you rubbed at the bridge of your nose. You knew your boyfriend was the jealous type but this was rather extreme.

“Next thing you know you’ll be holding their hands. Falling in love. Getting married!” He raises his voice slightly, you could see the tips of his ears turning red.

Okay, you didn’t know why this was upsetting him so much, but you didn’t want your boyfriend so mad over such a silly situation.

You took his face in your hands, placing a gentle kiss to the tip of his nose before rubbing your own against it. “Oppa, you watch way too many dramas.” You sighed as you wrapped your arms around his neck pulling him down for a hug.

He released a giant sigh, pulling you against him tightly, practically crushing you. He tucked his face against your neck, nuzzing you gently.

“I know…” he whispered defeated, “But your mine, and I won’t share you with anyone.”

Your heart flipped in your chest, melting at his words, “Like you could get rid of me that easily.” You laughed, nipping at his earlobe.

Suddenly his lips were mashed against yours, kissing you passionately. All thoughts of food and perilla leaves gone as he spun you around to slam you back against the wall. He gripped the back of your thigh tugging your leg up around him as he rolled his hips into yours. Your core throbbed with need as you felt him ready against you.

His mouth left yours, peppering kisses along your jawline and down your neck, leaving love marks in his wake. You were lost to his possessive touch, his fingers kneading your skin gently as his hand crept higher towards your ass.

You brought his mouth back to yours, you could never get enough of his lips. Nipping gently at his lower lip, you tugged on his lip ring with your teeth. He groaned in response, delving back into your mouth as he shoved his hips hard against your pelvis.

A loud crash in the restaurant permeated your desire, eyes opening wide as you remembered your surroundings. You shoved at his chest, which of course didn’t do much, the brick wall he was.

“Jungkook! We’re in public!” You hissed in his ear as he ducked back down to nuzzle your neck again. You did the only thing you could think of to get his attention, biting down firmly on his ear to get through to him.

He jumped backwith a yelp grabbing at his ear, “What the hell Y/N!”

You gestured around as if it was obvious, “Hello? Public. Restaurant.” You pointed out before motioning between you guys to signify this was not the time or place.

He rubbed at the back of his neck bashfully, “Oops?” You both burst out laughing simultaneously.

“I’m sure the guys are wondering where the hell we went.. we should head back.” You turned to head back to rejoin the group, just as you reached the table you were suddenly hoisted up and over Jungkooks shoulder causing you to let out a shriek. You would be embarrassed if you weren’t already used to Jungkooks antics. Instead you proceeded to give his firm ass a prompt smack.

“I gotta teach this woman who she belongs to!” He saluted them, giving a firm smack to your ass in kind that was sure to leave a mark. Jimin and Taehyung burst out laughing, a crash ringing out as Jimin fell to the ground.

Ah, the adventure of Jimin and chairs continues you thought to yourself. You didn’t even need to see what the noise was, everyone knew. “I’m okay!”

Jungkook made his way out to the parked car, setting you down to open the door and usher you inside. As he made his way to the drivers seat, buckling his seatbelt he glanced over at you.

You thought you might combust right there at the look he gave you, “I hope you didn’t plan on going anywhere tomorrow, cause you won’t be able to walk.” He smirked starting the car, this was the cocky playboy you had come to know.

Oh boy, you were in trouble.
