OKAY well it’s mostly just random doodles I did in class in a sketchbook (and a very small mob doodle I later stole for designing him as Spidermobbu)

BUT ANYWAYS the idea was mostly that Reigen used to run a superhero consultation business when he met Serizawa who was a supervillain working for claw and Serizawa ended up defecting and getting with Reigen shortly before the ban or whatever. And now Reigen’s changed gears to a *psychic* agency (loophole moment) and is floating by while he and Seri are raising Teru who also has powers and abuses them when he can get away with it + Tome who both resents being a non super and really wants them even though supers have to hide them. And mob’s coming by too and helping Reigen out on the sly even tho Reigen’s very conflicted about having him do that.

Reigen in general is also sort of in a specific situation because he both wants to shield the kids from anything, keep the livelihood afloat, deal with the fact that there is a law against supers and his husband is sort of on a goverment watch list, and also the fact he doesn’t have powers

And then Seri gets wrapped back into claw when he gets a “nanny” job to help them make ends meet taking care of Shou and then he gets dragged back into everything because toichioru is taking advantage of everything to get claw off the ground again

I didn’t really develop any plot further since these were things I came up with while I was bored in lecture hall lol but I did have some ideas for powers

Serizawa has electric manipulation powers, Teru has mimicry powers (if he sees someone use an ability he can mimic it and mess with that ability), mob’s is energy manipulation i think butit’s not very well defined because he represses himself so much, shou’s is invisibility, ritsu’s is telekinesis, Toichirou is the manipulation of other supers powers, etc

Also Mitsuura is like a mix between that Winston guy from the second movie and Edna or whatever. I thought it would be funny lol

WIP Wednesday

From Tomorrow’s a Long Way Off (warning for discussion of “Down from Dover,” Dolly Parton’s horribly sad song about a stillbirth):

That was when Jonathan realized what was off. He’d grabbed the wrong tape. This wasn’t his punk mix or the new tape that Eric’s girlfriend’s roommate had gotten in the mail from her English pen pal. It was his mom’s country-and-western mix, the one he’d made for her birthday. It was Dolly Parton, singing about a poor pregnant girl whose boyfriend had abandoned her forever.

The hot black room faded away. Suddenly it was easier to breathe, to open his eyes and lift his head. He tried to recall if his mom had played the tape in the house recently, ignoring his and Will’s groans of protest. Maybe he’d listened to the English tape in her car, but he didn’t think so. He remembered her standing in the doorway of his bedroom, trying to place which girl group sang “Wounded.” She’d figured out that it was the Cookies, but only after guessing so many other groups that Will had chimed in with his own absurd suggestions: the Girdles, the Crustaceans, the Exorcists, the Ronalds.

Now Dolly Parton was on the last verse, the one where the baby was born dead and the girl finally realized that her boyfriend never would come down from Dover. Jonathan had general rules for putting together all mixtapes, like saving the two best songs for first and last, but he’d done something unusual for this one, mostly to entertain himself. He’d ranked the songs from saddest to happiest, and put them on the tape in that order. “Down from Dover” was the saddest, of course, so it was first. The last song was “Light of a Clear Blue Morning,” also by Dolly Parton. That was cheating a little, because “The Happiest Girl in the Whole U.S.A.” by Donna Fargo was definitely happier, but he’d wanted the symmetry. Plus, the point of the tape was catharsis, and “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” was way more dramatic.

But the tape had barely started. Bobbie Gentry was singing “Fancy,” which was only a little happier than “Down from Dover.” Yet the songs had already cleared a little space in Jonathan’s mind: a strange, tiny miracle, but he’d take it.

For some reason it irritates me a lot less in old comics when the bad guys underestimate the girls than when it happens in modern comics. Granted I've read very few modern comics and the old ones i'm reading are Teen Titans 1966 and some random issues of Batman 1940 so I don't have That much material to compare but still
