I feel like I'm gonna lit someone's ass with this (god have mercy on me I don't wanna start a discourse haha) but I honestly don't understand what's the problem with being "proshipper" or something lmao. like. ofc the fiction has its impact on reality and romanticizing Bad Things™ is never okay but it's still art!!!!! and the art is a reflection of reality and sometimes reality is just full of shit. there should be a place for everything in art because it's just the life as it is and real problems won't go anywhere if you try to stop writing and drawing about them. I personally think that as long as you don't hurt anyone in real world you can create anything you want even if it's "problematic". I used to write about sexual assaults (yes, even about childhood ones) because you know what? I'm a csa survivor and I'm severely traumatized and it was a way for me to cope with it!!!! art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable, and it's one of my favorite quotes ever. so yeah. I don't see a problem in "problematic" content as long as it doesn't hurt anyone irl. it's just that simple. and wishing people death bc they drew an art with a "wrong" ship is never okay bc you know. it hurts real people :)

Part of why I hate this fandom's take on Autobots vs Decepticons is ppl (mainly 'con fans honestly) who can't have any nuance of the situation whatsoever and love to write plots like "oh the humans are racist and abusive towards Cybertronians so this is how Megatron is right" no actually I don't think colonialism/imperialism and racism are justified so long as you can point the finger and say "they were the aggressors first" or "their hands are no cleaner than ours bc their society sucks too" sorry. everyone knows how the kotlc economy is messed up but i know how to fix it without really changing cannon, by assuming Della and Fitz are unreliable narrators when it comes to how their world works because they grew up in noblity

only nobles get birth funds, but they tell themselves and their kids that everyone does so they don’t feel guilty, and because Della was the one to tell us about the birth funds it was just her brain washing from growing up in nobility talking

Nobles are the only ones with Gnomes living at their houses, otherwise they work at or own their own shops in the lost cities

nobles lose their birth funds by getting a bad match/match fail, or by being talentless, on top of that children of bad matches/match fails never get birth funds even if they join noblity, or are directly descendants discouraging those things more than they where already

there is a working class (the nobles just like to pretend it does exist) that works in mysterum and they live in neighborhoods outside of the city that the council likes to pretend don’t exist as well so they are very rundown

Working class families still discourage getting bad matches because if they marry someone from a noble family, weather that person works for the council or not they will still will have access to their birth fund

on top of that bad matches have to worry about medical malpractice, fake reports of crimes, and being the scape goat for nobles mistakes, which most working class families don’t have to deal with.

working class kids don’t get a birth fund even if they do join nobility, unless strings are pulled, but if they marry a good match and their spouse is also a noble their child will get a birth fund

both the working class and the nobility get taxed, because no society can function without taxes, and the taxes are very high to pay for the birth funds* which keeps the working class poor and the nobility rich

the working class can’t afford the same fancy things and houses that the nobility can, and while the working class tends to make the products the nobility can buy, they can’t afford that much themselves, they need cheaper products to buy and rely on.

there are factories in the neutral territories that the banished can work at for exchange for necessities, the working environment is awful but so are all the other options for getting necessities in the neutral territories so they have a large supply of workers,

the products the factories produce go to the shops that the working class buy from because they are cheaper, even though they know that the factories are mistreating their workers, they don’t have a choice because there’s no other option for them. them working class makes the products the noble use and so on and so fourth

I know when a ship is MY ship when I phisically can not take any angst about it without getting AT LEAST the exact same amount of fluff afterwards.

For example: Whenever I read creek fanfiction and It has the angst tag on it I NEED to check for a hurt/comfort tag AND assure it is between them. My ass is NOT reading anything without them having a somehow happy ending. I would kill myself.

Oh yeah Stan spends almost half his life unrequitedly in love w Kyle until he accepts it won't ever happen and gives it up, distancing himself from Kyle to help himself forget about him. Except that it's not really unrequited, and Kyle finds out about his own 10 ten year old and still growing crush on his best friend when said best friend isn't around anymore. It's too late now, so he just lets the growing apart thing go it's course and hope that maybe, one day, he'll forget about Stan. Mattmac's acting in TD will never not be insane to me, bcs its probably the only acting that genuinely fully made me think, yeah he completely escaped into the role. It's not that there's not any other actors out there that I think are amazing, but it's still often hard for me for the most part to separate the actor and their roles, especially if I've seen a lot of their work. Meanwhile, even just looking at a still of Rust, it's so hard for me to perceive, oh wait that's not a real guy?? Rust isn't out there???
