there's a lot of reasons I wish we could have gotten our hands on the kittens earlier BUT I am very grateful that my bro and his roommates laid really good groundwork re: 1) they like (or don't mind) being picked up and messed with 2) they're not especially skittish about noises or people 3) they don't think my human flesh is for clawing and biting

#especially the latter because it's easy to do the first two just incidentally by being 24 #and having a house with a lot of people and animals including loud dogs coming and going at weird hours #but it is ALSO very easy to accidentally ENCOURAGE rough play when kittens are teeny tiny #they don't NEVER do this but so far it's mostly just-- you know-- if you stick your hand nearby when they're already feisty #and they're very gentle about it which probably comes mostly from living with siblings and mom for long enough to learn good play manners #but they [knock on wood] don't attack feet and they don't go for hands except when they clearly think YOU were initiating something #and they're very gentle and they stop right away and take redirection readily #thanks bro (and friends) for not preloading them with Favorite Game: Killing And Biting #about me #this has been kitty talk
