“dude are you already high, whats going on?” you laugh cautiously, genuinely a little worried but keeping it light hearted. he seems to snap out of it at your voice.

his eyes dart around for a second as he reenters his surroundings, chuckling when your word’s finally register, “no, yeah- sorry… really long day today,” his words fizzle out as he goes along. you cant help but feel bad, you dont know how he deals with streaming sometimes. you also feel weird about giving him a mind altering substance while he already seems spaced out.

setting the pieces down safely on the table, you look at him seriously before speaking, “are you sure you wanna do this? you’re kinda out of it,” you’re hard trying not to sound condescending, but you doubt he can read your tone that well right now anyway.

he smiles the most minuscule amount and looks away, but you see it. “yeah, im sure,” he sighs out gently before continuing, “i need to empty my brain,” he finishes by looking back to you with already tired eyes. you nod in understanding, relishing in knowing exactly how to fix his problem.

picking up the little glass bowl and a lighter, you hand both to him. they instantly look tiny in his hand and you’re not sure how he’s gonna actually do this. after realising you gave him green hit, you remind him to take a small hit. he just rolls his eyes sarcastically and scoffs, like of course he would, but you both know he would’ve blown a lung.

you watch him fumble with the glass, trying to get a good grip that covers the carb and wont burn his hand when he lights it

he eventually gets it and takes a little corner hit

a bit bigger than he was expecting tho so he does that thing where u cough the smoke out

breathing in deep, holding it for a second, and letting it go watching it escape into the open air

when he sees other people smoke it usually feels more rushed and energetic, like they were trying to ingest as much thc in as little time as possible

but you take your time. gathering everything and getting comfortable, settling into the ritual of the action. you take your time and let yourself feel it, you take your time and make sure he’s fully prepared before offering him anything

another thing i feel has deepend my hatred for totk is... how quickly people jump to defending it, as soon as there is any criticism at all, no matter how little or legit, anyone that expresses disappointment, even in the most tamest way possible, the comments are filled with excuses for it like nintendo can do no wrong

(saw someone express disappointment about a concept art in the totk book that they would have liked more than what we got, and the comments were filled with people making excuses for it-)

often the process of cool concepts getting less cool over the development cycle, especially in this modern gaming industry, isnt bc it just wasnt 'possible' or not the best choice, but bc it gets filtered through many layers of corporate "mass appeal" ideals for greater profit, "mass appeal" i think is always going to give you something more generic, losing its edge, its spark, you cant make soemthing that literally appeals to everyone, thats not how it works, but they certainly try anyway bc it promises greater profit in theory

of course, that doesnt mean that has to be the reason for whatever they decide to go for in the end, but they can do wrong, very questionable, and very much bad things, they have done that and ARE doing that, and you should be able to express disappointment about that without getting swarmed by a weird nintendo defense squad, in fact, it SHOULD be criticised, sometimes that can even be fun, sometimes mroe frustrating, but it should be done regardless, does it sound fun to jsut fully accept everything they throw in front of you without question??? does that sound like you will only get better things???

-You were the youngest of the Valkyries, not necessarily by age, as you were an adult, but you were the newest warrior to become a Valkyrie, so by default, you were the youngest Valkyrie.

-You were a complete and utter cupcake mixed with rainbows and sunshine- it was impossible for anyone to hate you or even be mean to you and if they did that was an invitation for an immediate ass beating by those who loved and cared about you.

-Many knew of you and knew of your beauty- you were one of the most highly sought after females in Valhalla and so many wanted to marry you and have you for your own.

-However, they also knew what an airhead you were- you had no idea who was a god and who was a human, being nice to anyone you came across, which many enjoyed, and they couldn’t help but laugh, seeing that you were such a ditz.

-However, despite your ditzy nature, you were still a Valkyrie, a battle maiden, so you knew how to fight, but you only ever fought if someone around you was being accosted or if you were hit on, as you hated hurting others.

-Adam- your adoptive father and Brunnhilde taught you- since you were an airhead, that if anyone ever asked you to marry them, to bitch slap them and run to one of them or Eve and they would handle it from there.

born into an unpredictable line of half blood wizards, erwin was expecting to be a squib or a normal muggle until his magic manifested in the worst way possible when he was around 7

i think he's always had a very straightforward and headstrong mindset about him that caused a lot of problems growing up

to the point where the idea of going to Hogwarts ended up being the most exciting thing to happen to him after his dad died

(coincidentally around the same time as his magic manifesting)

his dad was a wizard and he'd gone to Hogwarts when he was younger — his dad had been in Ravenclaw, which is what erwin was aiming for until the hat persuaded him against it, charming him towards the sea of green

the choice the hat made to put erwin in Slytherin was met with head scratches and puzzled sounds; those in Slytherin always feel like erwin's a little out of place (even though they all love him)

but as he gets older, they start to see just what on earth the hat saw going on in erwin's head and quickly understand why he's donning Slytherin robes and no other house

he's definitely a team player — not so much a quidditch player as he is a fan of it, he likes to go to the games when he can, but he's a mean competitor in chess (always beats zeke) and absolutely rules the debate club

although he can look a bit unapproachable, i think a lot of Slytherins love erwin because of how to-the-point he is

he's very no nonsense

if you want help with your homework, of course he'll try, but it can't be a regular thing because he's just got other things taking precedence

So the past few days I've been working on the world map again and I. Welll I've run into a problem. A big problem

See. Theres a big crater.

And ummm. errr. I never really considered something important. How big the thing hitting it is.

That box you might be able to see is 'another planet'. In order to fit the size of the crater it has to be. fucking. huge. Like possibly ten times the size huge. However the fact things squash i assume the crater wouldn't be perfectly round so it would maybe be wierd and flat.

However either way this is so. So much. How is gravity affected? Tectonically a lot of time is implied to have passed so what would even happen then.

However i like the idea of enormous deep crater because as sloppily modelled in the second pic, i had an idea. Marianas trench is what, 10 km deep? Imagine the depth of this thing being even 1% of the planets diameter (its a bit smaller than earth) and therefore. Imagine the insane pressure.

And therefore what is at the bottom.

I need to show this to some reddit nerds for them to tell me 100 reasons this wouldn't work and is completely ridiculous

Anyway that's cool and all. but it gets cooler. or maybe hotter. Since the crater is coincidentally on the bright side of this tidally locked system (Its a moon so it still has day and night but largely only one side gets most of the sunlight) and the way the seasons on it work is that it has an elliptical orbit that gets further and closer to the sun every 'year'.... What if the difference in sunlight and heat... melts the giant ice spot every year. causing a seasonal tide system where its real high in summer and low in winter. oh yeah. think about it. seaside towns at water level in summer and high on cliffs in winter.... seasonal islands and paths... ooouuurgghhh....

Though it wouldn't actually work I'm pretty sure. Because the pressure would make it stay ice anyway. BUT. Its reasonable sounding enough right? You'd believe it and think I understand science if I put this in my worldbuilding right. You also think plausible seasonal ice spot tide is more important than full realism. Yes you do.

Anyway probably the bigger problem is that I've envisioned the like, lowland of the crater being a flat, wet jungle that has a delta on one point of it. And ummm. Errr. I dont think the edge of the crater is flat. Not at this scale at all.

I was having trouble visualising this from an individual perspective though. What would it look like to actually be on the crater? How would the curvature work? So of course I used the finest tech to envision this.

Winds of Change - Chapter 7: Winds of Change - Part One

“Most everything we know about ourselves and our world—it tends to be based on gut instinct,” Dracmon continues with a huff. “Anything else is whatever partial information we’ve managed to glean and put together on our own. Sometimes it’s both, and sometimes the damn pieces are upside down or backwards.

“That sounds like…” Shuuji can’t even begin to wrap his mind around it. He supposes that’s exactly the problem. “…a very confusing way to live.”

“It’s all we really know,” says Dracmon plainly, “Bits and pieces, scattered between memory and instinct. But even though I don’t know what goes where or which way’s up, I’ve still got a bit of a sense of what it’s all supposed to look like, somehow.”

Desperate to not be left in the dark, Shuuji seeks answers. But those answers only raise more questions, and it turns out that there's so much about this world that he does not understand—far more than he could have ever possibly imagined.

@surviveweek WOW DIGISURVIVE WEEK!!! it's my first time participating. it felt a little like... cheating, maybe, to post a chapter of a fic i was already working on, but it turns out the prompt for day 1 fit this chapter pretty well.

as usual, link is in the source so that tumblr doesnt kick me from the tags, and extended post-chapter notes are under the cut!!!

part of me is really glad i split this chapter in half. like i said, the original edit would have been close to 10k words, and there are so many ups and downs in the combined chapter that i was giving myself whiplash rereading it. the good news is, the second part is already mostly edited, and with it being survive week, i am going to try my best to accelerate the rest of the editing and get at least chapter 8 out this week.

i got really lucky that today's theme for survive week matched up with today's chapter. i was really struggling with how to interpret "a new world", because that's the entire game, isn't it? how was i going to choose just 1 thing about this new world to talk about? ultimately, the way i interpreted the prompt was in the realization that shuuji has, that this world is confusing not just for himself, but for the creatures that call it home. from the way dracmon describes it, it's just as harsh and dangerous to the kemonogami as it is to the humans.

on the topic of dracmon--he's my favorite to write. back when i was outlining this fic, it was already solidly in place that dracmon would be doing a lot of heavy-lifting in terms of lore. why dracmon? i'll keep that to myself for now. all in good time (:

i had such a fantastic time writing shuuji and dracmon interacting. on one hand, he's good at recognizing shuuji's sudden bursts of anxiety - kaito's anxiety manifests in a way that is much more explosive and angry than shuuji's, but it's still a powerful emotion that he's dealt with before. that said, obviously the way dracmon navigates kaito's emotions is not going to fit shuuji, and it was fun writing dracmon trying to get a feel for what kind of response does or does not work for him.

i also think lopmon would be SOOOOO INTERESTING as kaito's partner. you've got this timid little guy who is SO completely different from kaito, but would be able to tell that there's a gentle side to him that's buried super deep down. kaito would absolutely frighten him with his outbursts, though, and i wonder if seeing the direct consequences of his anger would help him understand its full impact. on a more cheerful note, i think kaito would not know what to do when lopmon says saccharine, kind things about him that are undeniably true, and i think that this would be very cute!!! it's almost as confrontational as the way dracmon interacts with kaito - lopmon wouldn't be snarky or bluntly honest with kaito the way dracmon is, but i think the sweet, innocent flavor of honesty that lopmon would use instead would hit him just as hard. much to think about.

this is going to be a much shorter extended authors notes this time, because the bulk of what i have to say is about lore stuff, and the rest of that is in part 2.

my answers for reader questions!

do you think dracmon is the most knowledgeable of the main digis about how the kemonogami world works?

as i mentioned on ao3, my answer is no, but i won't say why. however! i CAN say that i think the kind of knowledge varies super widely from digi to digi. dracmon may know a lot about what happens when digimon get destroyed, but i dont think he's got the more, social, i guess??? knowledge that agumon has, where he seems really familiar so many other digimon, knowing them by name despite never having met them before.

what do you think the superpower pineapple tastes like?

i think it never tastes the same! one could be sweet and another could be salty, but it's always really good. the texture is like chewing on drywall though.

-beanie animals: these are fun because unlike a lot of squishy animals they have a semi realistic look to them,, just have a hedgehog or something. Feels kinda like a stress ball (the ones I’m talking about are on smythstoys but you can find them other places)

-sand slug: if you really want a slug but don’t like the noise they do just make sand filled ones, not the same fidget feeling but hey, slug

-your standard fidget cube was always my go to while I was in class, there’s a lot of sound making bits but none of them are too loud and it’s got silent buttons + a lil joystick too so (there’s a lot of variations like fidget pads and puzzle toys but I find fidget cubes the most reliable, others are sometimes clicky and weird)

-those popit things are popular for a reason, but if you get one get one that’s rubbery all over and not with the white frame because the white frame ones are louder

-if you want something slime-esque but less eugh, you could try kinetic sand or just straight up play doh would probably be the cleanest option. Also if the visual is part of it for you get a water snake,, all the goop none of the having it on your hands. Sometimes there’s fish in there

-maybe a spinner ring? They’re nice to just push back and forth and it doesn’t really make noise that way

-I’m realising as I look into my favourites that really your best options for noiseless and soft are gonna be various squishy animals, but also the pea pod one is recommended for compulsive skin pickers so definitely try it out!!

Hello! So I got a new crestie a week ago and at night he's kind of just been in the same spot he was during the day, like he'll move but then he'll stay there for a lot longer than I'd expect [for example say he sticks to the back wall behind his plant at 7pm then I'll wake up the next morning at around 6am and he'll still be there] at first I didn't question it because my first crestie was the same on his first night but I'm a little worried since he was slightly active 4 ish days ago and I'm worried he won't get up to get food [yes I've been feeding him, it's mainly been crickets like every two days because he has a really high prey drive and I'm trying to get him to like/eat the pangea formula since he seems a little uninterested in it right now] and I'd just like him to be active and move. Should I just wait and see? And if its still the same in a few days should I try to handle him at night and hope it wakes him up a bit more, because im pretty sure he is awake because he looks fired up yet he just doesnt move. It sounds like you possibly just have a more nervous crestie, but it’s only been a week and sometimes it can take some reptiles a couple of weeks to a month to feel comfortable enough to explore, or he may have a specific sleeping place that he goes back to when you’re asleep. It could be worth getting one of those night vision cameras to see if he’s moving around at night or not 😊

Most of our cresties are fairly active at night but sometimes Biscoff will stay in a hide for a couple of days and won’t even come out for food, and Teacake often wont move if we’re awake too late and she’ll just stay in the same place because she’s a very anxious girl.

A couple of things to maybe consider to see if it’s just an anxious baby or if he need’s something:

Double check that his temperatures and humidity are okay. Some cresties may like it more/less humid or warm than others! If you know the conditions he was kept in before and they’re different now then it could be adjustment of a totally new environment, both in look and feeling. But it may be worth seeing if adjusting temps and humidity for different times of day have any impact.

How much clutter does he have in the enclosure? We’ve found that nervous cresties especially need a lot more cover, but we always make sure they have several branches to climb, plants to hide behind, hides to go into, bridges to use and ledges to jump or sit on. In general we’ve found that arboreal geckos really love and appreciate a ton of clutter that allows them to sneak around with little/no detection and having that option will usually make them more likely to feel comfortable coming out more often and being visible since they have a safety net.

Are you handling him? If so I wouldn’t handle him for a week or two so he can get used to his enclosure better without feeling a possible threat. Sometimes handling a reptile before they’re settled can cause brain or physical problems for them because of the stress, so we always leave it at least a week but usually a bit longer before we handle any animal when they first come home.

How many Pangea flavours have you tried? We always feed a variety, some flavours are less liked than others so sometimes some will skip a meal or two until a favourite is offered. I recommend having at least 3 flavours to alternate between and then only offer bugs once a week (about every 3-4 feeds). This gets him used to a routine and also isn’t giving in to a bugs only diet which would be unhealthy for him. Repashy are also pretty good but also very hit and miss with whether geckos enjoy them, we’ve tried Repashy a few times and none of ours touch it but other geckos love it. For Pangea with a gecko that seems to love bugs I’d recommend the “with insects” flavours since that sometimes entices them more 😊

I hope this helps and gives you some ideas to try! If none of these change anything then you may just have a more anxious animal that will be more active when you aren’t awake.

Friend, I'm curious: do you also have writer's blocks? Or with organizing and planning, this is not a problem for you? I ask you because I'm just feeling kinda creative again after a whole month, and I don't know how to feel about it. How long does it last for you when (if) you have it?

Yes, i have had writers block numerous times. Sometimes its the result of long mental exhaustion, sometimes it just jump at you and dont let you go for a while. Its not the most predictable thing and its not always the easier to deal with especially if you have something to work on. The best solution is always to take a longer break (even a few weeks if its that severe) and get yourself into reading (one book, a bunch of novellas, anything that is complex, not written in a simple way however contains a lot of art and complex solutions through the words and storyline. So, mostly classics). Of course it is advised on its own to sometimes get away from writing to pretty much have your creativity and mind "resynthesize" the resources (often writers block, when you keep your mind away from it, this is what it brings out, so its not all that bad and stuff...at least from my experience), but reading (maybe a lot) can speed up the process of returning significantly. I still dont like it overall, however, it can easily lead you at the end to a much more fulfilling creation journey and allows you to unleash even more good stuff and happiness inside. So in most cases its 100% worth the struggle.

I have to tell you though, its pretty normal to have a wavering tendency in writing or in any kind of creation form. Any kind of attitude is possible since the focus is not always on art and the case is heavily influenced by things and problems in life, hormones, diet etc.. So overall you dont always feel like you can do it, very little or almost nothing comes to mind, then one day you wake up and you run to the keyboard to spend your whole day typing your ideas. Its again, sometimes unpredictable, reading can help it too, but not immediately. Thats why it is normal too to live like this. Can you imagine doing nothing but writing? Like 8-10 and even more hours a day? I know, it sounds fun at first, but when a block hits or you just run out of ideas (or the "connection thickens" with the art, its another problem that occurs when you overwork on something), you can easily fall into a shorter or longer regression period that brings creation to nowhere. It always depends on what you work on, how complex it is or/and how many thoughts you put into it. I know authors who almost never or rarely have these problems since they either do something else (not really reading, but the idea is not so bad after all, so if you feel like you are even more lost than should be, i recommend this method also for possible gaining) or what they create is so simple, even the editing is left out so in the end the mental exhaustion is less likely to hit them. But at the same time, i know writers who had the issues or even blocks for months and years! Well, its truly something.

In my case, blocks usually last a few days, maybe a week so during those i quickly move on to something (reading is obvious to at least keep up so the return in the end is much easier but the other hobbies help a lot too) or i just have my story "take a nap" in my head 😂😂. I remember the most serious lasted like 6 months, back in 2016-2017 when i was in high school (it was not long after i started writing in a "professional way"). It wasnt fun (its like running to a brick wall and again and again but it doesnt bother), however, it made me realize, prevention is much more important and on its own actually cheaply accomplishable even if you sometimes wish to overwork out of joy (im talking about doing writing longer than 10-12 hours), day after days.

So what i do usually?

As i said, having your artpiece sometimes sent out to relax is actually very useful. You leave it alone for a few days when you feel like, its good enough/almost finished and after that, with fresh thoughts, you return back to it. It not only reduces the change of the block, but allows you to see the writing in a different perspective. Its easier to spot mistakes, rewrite things that are not matching well, implement new ideas, etc. Thats why i like to say, writing is an art of patience where you can never let your focus go and at the same time, you have to have the ability to feel where things belong in your creation from place to time, though purpose. Oh boy, now i totally sound like somebody who lives by the zen 😂😂😂

Make a list, a list, a list, a list (okay not this many). Have your phone or/and a notebook around and write down immediately what pops in your mind (that is good enough in your opinion). If you even have the opportunity take your time and open up the thing: make points in connection with it, expand it as your imagination allows it, create another list within in it if necessary. This usually doesnt take that long in time, however, it initiates 2 things: its more likely to start writing from there and when you need ideas or the "spirit/essence" is lacking (it sadly happens), you can always read them out to have a little bit of aid (or a lot, because i think it works well). If you feel like you wanna be just as crazy as me (lol 😂😂), you can take your list and type it in. Its not only for preserving and having everything together but adds another opportunity to work on your ideas even more. These lists on their own can be very small or huge like in my case (26 pages long and pending, god dammit 😂😂). I highly recommend this method too when you dont really have the time to write, but would like to do some minimal work to "go somewhere". Its very inspiring too when you take a look at your list and see how many things are there to count on. This can make you start writing too, trust me

Today is november 7th 2023, im 19 and everyday to me seems like a completely different color. I have a job now, well, technically, as a journalist, i go on dates sometimes, i receive nice messages time to time and meet new people. I dream about telescopes and people throwing glass plates all around. I constantly want to vomit, and feel like my day-to-day living is not fulfilling enough.

This will sound funny, but i think i happen to be an alcoholic. Ive been drinking everyday for a couple weeks, and i cant stand the feeling of being sober. In fact, its tuesday. I just came back from my workday and im here again drinking wine. I dont feel so good about my decisions lately.

Its strange. Im typing this whilst being drunk, but it was so easy to despise others for their addictions. Like what do you mean you enjoy drinking something that doesnt even taste right every single day. But now i understand.

I cant imagine facing the world sober ever again, as if im getting raw-dogged with reality. To me, everything seems lucid right now. I can barely see. Isnt that very much concerning hahahhaha. OK that, but the fact that i enjoy it is not right. I understand the problem. But there is not much i can do about it. I mean i can, but i dont want to.

oh boy I finished (citation needed) a new game time to add to the veedia tag again

metal: hellsinger (ps4)

this game is Lovely. this game is so fun. I cannot aim to save my god damn life. metal hellsinger accomplished a major feat in having the only possible setup in the entire world to encourage me to play a first person shooter (being, really good metal and rhythm mechanics) and to that I applaud it because I consider fpses to be sort of my mortal enemy? right next to mmos and fighters? im gonna go into it more let me not take up ur entire dash.

the gameplay is Lovely. i did play on easy mode but ough the. shotgun cocking effects to the beat of a good metal song. there is Nothing Like It. the difficulty is Honestly Not Bad ** given some practice time and its very much a delight to play. well. save for one part but ill get to that. its a darkly lit game which is a problem but all of the enemies are color coded, glow, and have their own sounds and that alleviates it a bit.

i will say that the game is. Not Optimized to PS4? it is. Quite Glitchy and while I don't mind most of them i know some people do and there were a few that very much got in my way (i posted the acheron boss glitch a couple hours ago). also sometimes enemies just get stuck in the floor and youre waiting for them to pop up so you can move on. thats fun. also the bug enemies suck. the shield enemies also suck. those arent glitches i just hate them.

as for plot uh. this game was not made for plot. i accept this. its kinda Just Okay but it doesnt really need to be more than that. you play a scary demon lady who wants nothing more than to rip the devil limb from limb. whats better than that. youve got a troy baker skull. the plot there is admittedly pretty cute especially if you try to analyze the lyrics but i am also very much a sap and it hit a specific genre of Relationship In Media That Is So (Kinda Just There) Its Not Even A Subplot which is one of the few genres i can actually stand. i will say i feel i got a bit beauty and the beasted at the ending but like. eh. it wasnt that much. anyway. next point

theres no bad songs in here. my favorite is this devastation easily. ost introduced me to arch enemy which is a band you can all tell I'm normal about. the lyrics only kick in when youre at max multiplier so being able to hear a good drop is a good motive to get decent and not get hit. i think my ranking of songs is this devastation - no tomorrow - burial at night/stygia - dissolution and then everything else is kind of at the bottom in no particular order. not to say i dont like them but theyre all the same level of like. also serj tankian is there. he is lovely. he does the final boss theme (no tomorrow) that I wish I could fucking hear him over damage sound effects and myself swearing. yeah now we get to that

** The Final Boss Is Bad. yeah my main problem (and kinda only Real Problem) with this game is uh. i dont think i can actually finish it? there is an Enormous difficulty spike at the final boss to the point where my first run of lasted a solid Two Minutes if that and i am on easy mode. my friend described it as (game is touhou now) and yeah i can see it. first person touhou. nobody wants to play first person touhou. i dont want to play first person touhou. i didnt actually beat the game i just watched the ending and resolved to get back to it when i feel like it (never) and do better things with my time. like draw unknown in little outfits.

anyway thats My Thoughts. its a good game and i will probably keep playing the levels over n over. for people who dont replay these games over n over it is definitely not worth the money as you can pretty easily slash through all the levels in one sitting if you know what youre doing but i am easily entertained and love rhythm games. stay tuned for doodles of the unknown with my general fashion sense. listen to the two best tunes also. maybe listen to the whole ost after if u like it.

okay, bc i have seen this argument alot now (and it also seems to be the view point of aonuma himself..) is that "zelda cant do everything link does bc whats the point then"

and i take personal offense on that bc its a stupid argument (in. my. very. personal. opinion.- not judging people for liking it. its a ME thing)

whats the point? its that its her. its still a different character, different in story, background, personality, but i WANT to play zelda and she can do everything link does, why does she have to be so restricted and be bend over backwards to find some new way to make her 'useful' when link gets to do basically everything no questions asked (the only thing thats hers is like .. sealing power and sacrificial maiden, which i find a little underwhelming to say the least), if theres no point to it why are there always modders that model swap link with someone else, and in that case it has even less impact bc its an artificial model swap with no changes to the story (which can and should still be different when its the vanilla game with a different protagonist... its still a different character), clearly theres joy in just the model being a different one- and that isnt even to mention the story possibilities, since, again, its stil a different character

if we ever (never ... i know who we are talking about here) get to play as ganondorf i want to him to be just as versatile and active as link is, if we got a point and click adventure game for him instead bc 'whats the point' id be disappointed too- you can find any sort of excuse/explanation for zelda to be singled out but the fact remains it tracks with how female characters are often treated, and that hits a very sore spot for me

i guess i am unfortunately one of those annoying people that want to see female characters be treated exactly the same as male characters, possibly bc i am myself afab but identify as agender and have a deeply personal dislike for anything 'traditional' feminine bc i cannot and never will be able to truly live as myself in real life, it influences all of my work, my work is as just as much as my opinion on this, very personal

and in line with my point about modding, i see theres joy in just beign able to play as her even if its like this, i get that, i also get it for the creative aspect (though that mechanic worries me even more for the future bc it really seems to be the path now that -freedom = good, linear anything = bad-) it is a different idea and its not like i cant see that value- im not trying be "right" either, just bc i have that opinion doesnt mean i need everyone to agree, its a very personal thing, if you like it good for you! not for me though, and i think both of that is equally valid

also that 8mm video camera i was using finally crapped out -_- my family had taken it with them on vacation and over there it started dying and doesnt work anymore T-T its totally natural since its super super old but i was just getting into recording stuff w/ it >_< anyways its raining p hard oh ya also tomorrow i wanna take some cute selfies in my room -_- and try on shorts and shirt combos for funsies but i might go to bed soon and listen to an album b4 tho probably kraftwerk 2 again its starting to grow on me. i like atem a lot like its just breathing but if u take it as just a sound and not like the act of breathing llike if u can decontextualize it which isnt v hard to do since its so heavily altered its just more of that real simple beauty that kraftwerk excels at. also listened to tour de france soundtracks while shaving and its been a while since i last listened to it in full so i expected some of the later tracks to feel dragged out but like its really great all around. it makes me so happy they like have an album in that later style like the same style of the expo 2000 single and the mtv non stop bumpers. it sounds so sleek and futuristic while also very early 2000s its fkn great. only problem i think is that the closing track pales in comparison to the original tour de france single like the main problem is the percussion is nowhere near as punchy. and just it being a recreation is like nice they put it there especially given that tour de france isnt exactly readily available for most ppl at the time but the album is already so great it wouldve kinda been awesome and kinda a brave choice if they had just not even included the og tour de france on it at all lol. like just had it be obv tour de france still but not actually include the tour de france song. tho also having that as the closer is really cool and i especially liek how the one on that album is noticably influenced by the francoise k remix of tour de france so thats like p cool. tho in a perfect universe i think it wouldve been cool if they had like some other closer that was equally as good as the rest of the tracks on the album and then released like a legit greatest hits album that same year and include like all the rare single mixes like autobahn n stuff and include tour de france on there.

okay . things ive noticed about myself through interacting with technology/video games. maybe these are normal and i wouldnt be surprised if they were. i guess im curious if anyone else has dealt with stuff like this

i seem to have rlly low,, visual acuity ? when it comes to like. video games. when things are dark in video games it immediately gets overwhelming for me and my brain turns off. my monitor brightness is as bright as it can go already so sometimes i have to turn off the lights in my room to cope with this. this becomes less of a problem when im used to a game. in games with very fast visuals i have a hard time keeping up because i cant parse whats going on. if those games work you up to going fast, its usually easier for me, but if you throw me into something that STARTS fast and its not like. very easy to parse visually,, theres no way ill be able to keep up

if there are a lot of weird sounds at once in a game, my brain explodes

i have a super difficult time learning video game controls because i literally cant remember things. a lot of times ill misremember buttons. if there are too many buttons to learn that im not used to using i will literally just keymash or start hitting buttons that arent even used. this essentially makes it impossible for me to learn fighting games because how am i supposed to learn COMBINATIONS of buttons when i cant even remember how to dash.

if im learning a game i usually dont notice the words/instructions and i get confused because of it. its not like im not trying to pay attention but when i do read the stuff it doesnt stick with me ): there are certain games that implement words and instructions better (sea of thieves is specifically great for instructions) but a lot of the times ill get really confused because of it.

im bad at figuring out games that arent self explanatory . i will try really hard but if things arent clear i just get frustrated. this gets a little aggravated by the fact that this is something my gf is very good at, so sometimes theyll be like "oh this is what youre looking for" without properly explaining what im looking for or just do it for me . which isnt their fault at all but ill just get sick of not knowing whats happening and just go explore and die a bunch

less gamery, when i type i often switch words for similar sounding words and sometimes swap tenses without noticing at first. id assume this is normal but it happens a lot and its kind of annoying. while im not the most eloquent speaker, i at least dont make mistakes like that when i talk

so. conclusions. audiovisual clarity and games with easy controls and good instructions are nice. i continue to wonder if i have autism, but i know there are autistic people who dont have these problems, so maybe im just not used to video games?
