There’s a guy at work named Mohammad and I was hoping he would maybe see me and think I’m a normal Muslim woman but I had a meeting with him yesterday and he called me “man” the whole time.

#not in a derogatory way ofc. just like ‘how’s it going man’ ‘that’s nice man’ etc #it’s like a year and a bit into this job I should give up #its not the kind of workplace where people put pronouns in their email signature or anything like that #and I feel it would be weirder after all this time to try to correct people #I know I’m not gonna get anyone to use they/them for me #so I’d rather be seen as a woman #but instead despite wearing a niqab and earrings and jewelry. I’m seen as a man.#I know it’s probably my voice but I like having a deep voice it’s what I’ve always wanted
