If i was recommending someone trying to get into the fnaf games exclusively through many hours of youtube videos, it would really have to be:

• Markiplier's playthroughs of all the mainline games (really the perfect mix of the feeling of all of them coming out from nowhere and becoming a phenomenon, a performer really groking how to play and expressing the terror of playing in a way that was actually pretty rare among first plays I've seen, and lots of entertaining bits that cut the tension)

• Dawko's Revisited series (a nice mix of skilled let's play and connecting a lot of the commonly accepted lore as it crops up in the game, with a lot of love for the series that i think really expresses the appreciation and bugbears that the current fandom has. Includes fanf world, an interesting failure that turns out to be surprisingly tonally in line with the later canon)

• Sagan Hawkes' Retrospective series (a collection of essay style recaps of not only the in-game universe, but the fan reactions and community stuff, with very good production value)

• Scruffy's two videos about the sound design in fnaf and how it builds and maintains tension, which are very beautifully animated and can and should be watched even by people who don't care about fnaf

• Pim Is Online's "FNaF 4 is a Horror Masterpiece" essay (includes a nice amount of history to set the table, and is a very nice argument in favor of the series in general and of the game that began the big wave of backlash towards the series in particular)

• Bonus Rec (Secret Sixth Night) - Andiematronic's "How to Make Your Own Spring Bonnie Suit" video (not really about the lore or anything, but an extremely good video that's both a cosplay tutorial and a semi-in character performance based on the events of Help Wanted, so it's a nice dessert after experiencing the game)

any jerma playthroughs you would recommend for someone who's never watched jerma streams before? :3c

in terms of more recent streams, yesterday’s spore stream is good, as well as most of the horror and VR stuff from October. Black Masses was a wild ride too. overall i also recommend his dark souls 3 or sekiro streams, house flipper and viscera: cleanup detail. there are edited highlights on the 2ndjerma channel as well as unedited vods on the jerma stream archive. 

also you say you’ve never watched jerma streams but if you also haven’t watched his videos i highly recommend some of his more classic vids from the old Jerma985 youtube days like Grab that Auto 5, 700,000 games, Castle Griffinsteed, Extreme Body Sliders and Raven’s Cry. and of course rat movie if you havent seen it

1. adult animations, big mouth on netflix- the absolute best adult animation i have ever seen in my life (tbh, it was my first adult animation so,,) okay but nick kroll and john mulaney and maya rudolph absolutely killed it. its basically a bunch of clueless af teenagers and preteens and their adventure with puberty, hormones and everything that comes along!

2. reality shows on netflix (coz im a sucker for em)- next in fashion, interior design matters, sugar rush, queer eye, love on the spectrum, rupaul’s drag race  season 11. a++ content, super bingewatcheable and i totally loved all of em

3. bandish bandits on amazon prime- an absolute show stopper, hriday stealer, extremely well made, perfectly casted and wonderfully created show. i have nothing but appreciation for this show. it has this excellent blend of everything you love and is an absolute must watch. 

4. schurverse- ie shows made by michael schur,, the office, brooklyn nine nine, parks and rec, the good place. i mean, !!!!!,, ekdum must watch, very well written, extremely hilarious and my absolute favourite shows of all time. if youve already watched them, i see no reason to not rewatch and if you havent watched them, i see no excuse to not watch. im kidding,, im not threatening y’all but the best healthy relationships i can ever look upto, the most complex yet relatable characters i vibe with, everything’s a yes yes 

5. fleabag- i am extrememely newbie to this fandom and it won my heart within the first 20 seconds,, such a freaking mindblowing show god!!

(i accidentally put it in the cage next to it and i am literally the luckiest fucking person in the world that the group i put it in with were healthy and relatively the same size because fuckkkkkkkkkk)

this is SO gross but to make a long fuckin story short a minimal but still significant amount of baby raccoon diarrhea got in my hair and like. i’m never going to question whether i like. “love” animals enough to be a vet again bc a fucking raccoon pooped in my hair and i did not quit on the spot

i now understand why rabbits have so many damn ass babies and it’s because they are the most fragile lil creatures on the planet. a construction guy was jackhammering nearby for maybe two days and we probably lost 1/3rd to half of our ~75ish baby buns just from the stress of the noise. nature’s really just playin the numbers game with em

baby opossums perfectly occupy that niche of “would kill you if given the chance but too small to do any real damage” and i utterly adore them 

the two saddest types of animal deaths for me, tbh, are 1) ones which are explicitly in bad shape because of us rehabbers making a mistake, and 2) the ones which go from being perfectly healthy to being perfectly dead with absolutely no explanation. it’s just rough

just in general, animals are really fucking weird re: dying. i’ve been expecting this one really rough-lookin opossum who got separated from his litter-mates because they were, uh, not being nice to him, and he’s gone from barely not being able to stand to slowly moving around! meanwhile one of the racs we have went from acting the like an above-average raccoon level of hyper to randomly dying in the span of 24 hours. it’s just weird

hereditary and get out were the most refreshing horror movies to me that i’ve seen lately. i love horror but ive seen so muhch that most horror movies are formulaic and ive been getting bored with the genre. these movies went deeper than surface level horror tho and thats the shit i love. i havent seen us yet but im super hyped for that too.

@thesnowyswan Rae, where do I even begin? If you start typing on my computer www.archi it auto fills to her page on Ao3. I spent an hour staring at my computer trying to work up the courage to send her my first drawing I did for her. And then we started talking and it turns out? She’s smart and funny and a little dirty and SO good at feedback. She is a dream collaborator, and also just a fucking cool person. @sugdendingleaddict is someone who just managed to suddenly be an amazing friend. When I’m freaking out over something or flailing about robron she is RIGHT there with me. I think 90% of our messages are in all caps and laughter. She loves butts, and is an ambassador to the world on behalf of Ryan’s behind. She’s a fierce friend and protector, and I fucking love our chats. Five stars. Would friend again. 

@getyourfaceoutofmyface is the best kind of nerd. She will nerd out with you about Robron and other things and THAT RULES. She’s kind and thoughtful and funny. She and I created a whole second robron child concept from a typo. A TYPO. She agrees with me that Danny is an absolute fox and gives me all the snuggle head canons for my instagrams. If you have ever thought a thing of mine was cute that’s Shauna’s cute brain. Not mine.

@howellobrien is one of the sunniest and kindest people I have ever met on the internet. Holly is the anti-troll. If you ever wonder… is the internet a place full of good? Go look at Holly’s page and you will be certain it’s the best. She loves to spread happiness, and we should all let her.

@littlelooneyluna is one of those authors that gives you a headcanon that sticks with you. Like, I genuinely sometimes catch myself wondering how great little skateboarding future Seb is going to be because of how she writes him. That’s absurd. He’s a baby! Also, her tags are fucking great. 

@letthebluerain convinced me to love Pete. PETE. He’s a farmer who is dating a snore, but WHAT NOW I LOVE PETE. And Blue tells me about the world and has 100% correct opinions about Robert’s great arms, and all outfit choices pretty much, and makes up weird little scenes about wedding seating charts with me. Also, anytime anything good happens in this fandom it is because Blue is unable to watch TV. So, they are a god send.

@drawlallvowels supports my drinking and I love it. I swear Tina may have a chart that she refers to when I draw something and guesses if that piece was inspired by rum or vodka. She is a fucking hilarious tagger and a damn good writer of Robert the prostitute. Also she is the best at writing little backstories for drawings. I swear she knows more about them than I do!

@vckaarrob rocks my socks. She’s an absurdly amazing writer, she is correct in all ways about both Robert and Aaron’s grooming (hair and beard) and she’s crazy good at inspiration. this is petty and i KNOW movies dont have to follow the comics like. i know that and sometimes its a very good thing, but with marvel they wanna take parts from the comics, sometimes GOOD parts and they wanna fuck it all up and force it to fit into their shitty narrative. like. civil war for example.. had a PURPOSE in comics. it was a genuine grey area and, well written, it could've been a nuanced scenario about how different types of people might have benefited or suffered from it (re: mutants etc). in the mcu, civil war was uuuuuh wendy blew up some people and she used to be a nazi but we’re all gonna defend her because im steve rogers and i do what the fuck i like regardless of literally everything else. 

they based the mcu on the ultimates universe???? TAKE THE GOOD BITS THEN!!!! like take miles morales instead of just giving peter his life and his friends

the general need marvel has to own all of their properties. homecoming was a good movie, but did we need it??? like really???? people have seen so many spider man movies but no one had seen a black panther or captain marvel movie and they both got shoved back to accommodate the 3rd peter parker ive seen in my lifetime

mostly what it comes down to with me though is that marvel literally does not have to make good movies. they can make any old shit and make literally millions of dollars. barely anyone gave a fuck about ant man or doctor strange, and if you didn't read comics, you likely wouldn't have even KNOWN who they were but everyone went to see them because they had marvel on the posters. and thats pretty much marvel’s entire deal. ALL they do is get credit for things they havent done
