Nischa Oneshot - Getting together drabble lol

keep in mind this is definitely not beta read and was thrown together in like half an hour! enjoy!!

Noel was sitting alone on a bench in the schoolyard when he first realized he had feelings for his best friend.

It was late, a cool breeze was starting to get through his sweater vest. The transition from summer to fall was beginning, very early on in the school year. Noel was dreading the walk home, He was dreading being alone with his thoughts.

He was dreading being alone with him. The one boy whose opinions mattered most to him. Mischa Bachinski.

Noel waited, everyday like clockwork after choir practice, until Mischa came out to greet him. Sometimes they’d walk out together and sit, talk for a few minutes then walk home together. He felt like he was holding Mischa back. Mischa was sweet, honourable even, always looking out for Noel, getting into way too many fist fights with catholic hockey boys.

He was Noel’s hero.

Mischa lived a few streets down from Noel, with his neglectful foster parents. Noel despised them, with a burning passion. Mischa didn’t like going home either, yet, the best part of the day was, according to him, going home. Noel didn’t really understand why at first.

Noel would stand with Mischa at the end to his own street, give Mischa a good farewell fist bump as Mischa looked at him with the saddest puppy dog eyes. He looked like he wanted to say something but really couldn’t.

Until one day he finally gathered the courage. Mischa asked Noel a very simple question.

“Poet.” Mischa called him that as a term of endearment, they were standing together at the end of Noel’s street like always.

“Can I stay at your home? Just for this night.”

Noel felt frozen, it was like his heart stopped whenever Mischa made eye contact with him, his guts felt like molten chocolate.

“I mean- maybe my mom is out for a little vacation, I’ve been home alone for the past couple days. I don’t know how she’d feel about me having someone over.” He looked at the cement beneath their feet, trying to think about something, anything else.

“My parents had fight over something stupid, I do not want to get in middle of that again.” Mischa seemed to mumble. He was noticeably softer with Noel, everyone felt it. Including them.

“You know what sure. It’ll be fine. I think I have some pyjamas you can borrow. Might be a little small but.” Noel said, a smile appearing on his face. Mischa wanted to stay the night with him, as friends, nothing else.

“You are the very best, Poet.” He pulled into Noel into a very sudden hug, which Noel awkwardly soothed him through, then they made their way to Noel’s house down the street.

When they both walked inside, Noel started to heat up a frozen pizza for the both of them, Mischa flopped down on Noel’s mom’s expensive couch with a hard thud. After setting a timer for the pizza, Noel sat with Mischa, Mischa had pulled out his phone and was very wrapped up in it, with a concerned expression.

“What is it? Do your parents need you home?” Noel asked with a small amount of concern in his voice.

“No, they really do not care. It is my Talia, she is saying she is wanting to- open relationship? She says she met a girl she likes.” Mischa looked at Noel, less with an expression of pain but confusion. “What does this mean?”

“Well- opening a relationship is like saying you’re allowed to date other people while also dating each other? It’s different for everybody. If you feel comfortable with that then go for it!” Noel said, he offered the best advice he could to Mischa when prompted. They didn’t call him the most romantic boy for nothing.

“Okay. I shall tell her this.” Mischa was on his phone for a bit before shoving it into the pocket of his baggy jeans.

“Gotcha. Now what do you want to watch Misch?”

Mischa smirked at Noel, like he’d just came up with the most evil idea in some sort of lame comic book. “Why don’t we watch the movie you like, Blue Angel person.”

“Oh that’s a great idea! I’d love to!” Noel put on the movie, plated up their frozen pizza and they ate in silence, there was occasional commentary from Noel while Mischa nodded while shoving his face with pizza.

Eventually the movie was over, and they were just sitting on the couch. They were co-existing, and it was peaceful. Noel wondered how he’d gotten so lucky, to befriend the angriest boy in town.

Noel broke the silence before Mischa could. “So where are you going to sleep?”

“Couch is fine.”

“I’d feel bad… do you want my bed? I can stay on the couch if you want Misch.”

“What if we just stay on bed together?”

“What?”

“…what?”

Suddenly the room felt small, Noel’s chest was pounding and he felt blood rush to his ears in a fierce blush. Mischa was also bright red, Noel didn’t exactly know why.

“It is solution! We share bed, then no one fights about it.” Mischa said, trying to manoeuvre his way out of a difficult situation.

“Yeah- yeah I guess but…”

“But what poet? You know you can tell me anything.”

“Isn’t it weird because I’m-“

“I told you poet, I am not homophobic. Macklemore.” Mischa had in fact told him, in fact it had become a joke of theirs to say Macklemore at anything remotely gay.

“No it’s not that. Mischa- I think- I like you.” Noel closed his eyes and braced, waiting for Mischa to slap him or something. At least now he could be rejected and not pine for weeks.

“I like you too. You are my best friend, poet.”

“No Misch it’s a little more than that, like I have feelings for you.”

“Oh.”

“Oh?”

“I think I do as well.”

Noel looked up at Mischa shocked, adjusting himself on the couch to face Mischa a little more.

“Is that okay, poet?”

“Yeah actually- that’s great.” Noel brushed his hair out of his eyes, a gesture to try and ground himself.

“Can I- can I kiss you poet?” Mischa sounded slightly unsure, like he was trying to diffuse a bomb.

“…mhm.” Noel said after a little bit of debating, he locked eyes with Mischa and slowly closed them as he felt chapped, rough lips chafe against his. It was slow and sweet.

“Do you want to go out? Like on actual date?” Mischa said, after pulling away.

“Yes! Yes I think I’d really like that.” Noel said, giggling to himself like a preteen girl.

The next day at school Ocean could tell something was up, she was eyeing them like a bird of prey, and not the fun Harley Quinn kind.

Choir practice went as normal, and Mischa started walking home as well as spending most nights at Noel’s, after a proper first date to an ice cream parlour of course. They’d share, thoughts, feelings, opinions until it grew too late to keep their eyelids open.

Then they rode the cyclone, relationship still kept very secret. It was new and private, neither of them wanted to spoil that. They’d tell people when they were ready.

Noel’s mom never got to see the happiness he found with Mischa, but somewhere, deep down she knew he was safe.

Safe in the arms of the angriest boy in town.

what do you think of Mischa x Noel?

Ay thanks for the question!

My personal interpretation of them is that they are ride or die (lol) best friends. They GET each other, and they support each other. Mischa probably befriended Noel trying to defend him from some bullies but realized that Noel is strong enough to defend himself, which Mischa admires a LOT. They both talk shit about Ocean together, Noel lets Mischa talk about Ukraine/Talia all he wants, lets him plays him his music, probably has featured on a track. Mischa lets Noel be himself, lets him talk about drag race, poetry, old movies, etc.

I honestly do think in a sense that they are soul mates (it’s my belief personally that everyone has multiple in different ways; some romantic, some platonic, some familial)- however where my opinion tends to drift from some others is that I don’t think there’s anything other than fierce platonic love going on there. Maybe some feelings coming from Noel -> Mischa, it’s absolutely possible, I mean he chose Mischa to be his tango partner in his number, so there’s gotta be something to that. But as for my personal interpretation of Mischa, he is head over heels in love with his fiancé; she is his entire world, and I think Noel knows and respects that. So I don’t SHIP Noel X Mischa myself, but I do love their dynamic and I do think they genuinely love each other. Sort of the dynamic duo of Uranium City.

(Also I just wanted to add, no disrespect if y’all ship Nischa, trust me I have my fair share of ships, it’s just not my personal interpretation)

How do I feel about this character?: I love the guy!!! There's a lot of layers to him and I think he totally deserves all the love he gets!

Romantic OTP: WHATEVER THE SHIP NAME FOR TALIA AND MISCHA IS <333

Non-romantic OTP: Nischa and HEAR ME OUT!!! PUT DOWN YOUR PITCHFORKS FOR TWO SECONDS AND LISTEN!!! I do not HATE the Nischa ship! I completely understand why people ship them together and I can still get behind them being shipped/a couple, even though i don't ship it myself. There's some adorable fan content with them and it's impossible not to find it charming! The only thing is that I just can't see them together. Mischa sings an entire song about how much he misses and loves Talia, it's even a common interpretation that his opening monologue was his wedding vows! He truly admired her and i just can't see him leaving Talia behind for Noel. I get why people can see their interactions as romantic (and I can totally get behind the ship as I said!!!), I just don't see it myself. They're more like brothers to me.

1. I think a lot of the fandom is guilty of seeing constance as just the “ sweet nice wholesome mom friend of the group” when (to me at least) the whole point of Constance was that people thought she was this, was because the never bothered to get to know her past that .

2. In her monologue it’s heavily hinted at that Constance was suffering with depression leading up to the cyclone.

A. Ontop of this we can see throughout musical she was self deprecating “Lost her virginity in a crap box in a crappy town, why of course she did.” you should always laugh at guys jokes otherwise they’ll think your a cow” AND PEOPLE DONT TALK ABOUT THSI ENOUGH

3. Also I dont get the “mom of the group” thing. Like she was nice to everyone and ocean mentioned that she baked but that’s about it

4. I don’t thinks it’s acknowledged enough that Constance was SAd. I don’t care if she wanted to loose her virginity, shes under aged and by Constance’s own emissions the carny was in his 30s

But That being said I’ve seen a lot of rp accounts bleed over into non rp post/ videos, while this is normally fine I’ve seen quite a few accounts pushing their head cannons on other non rp accounts as if their facts or an authority on the matter. Again nothing wrong with rp accounts / sharing your head cannons, just time and place guys

3. Look I get it plenty of the actors/ actresses that have been in rtc are attractive but some of y’all need to remember the characters themselves ARE CHILDREN

4. On the topic of the actors/ actresses some of y’all need to learn what boundaries are

1. Real Ukrainian war footage in Talia

A. It feels in very poor taste at best and just strange up gross at worst to the situation at hand. I get it Mischa’s Ukrainian and that’s a very important part to his character but that doesn’t mean you need to throw real war footage to the end of the song.

B. Talia and mischa story as a whole is tragic enough as is. You don’t need to add in the fact that on top of Talia possibly not even being real we’re now throwing in the possibility that she died in the war? It just seems like over kill to me.

2: Ricky’s disability being written out of the script was really gross. Like I get it they wanted to avoid another yannick situation but this like the worst possible way to go about it

Look, I'll be honest with you but you're being too harsh and toxic to yourself to the point that every time I see your posts in my feed, I start to question what happened in your life to make you this miserable.

You're knocking yourself down every time there's an opportunity for you to be finally happy and content with something you enjoy. -they just love each other so much, Mischa is absolutely on his knees, in love, with this woman. Also the funny detail that Talia leaves him “mostly” positive feedback, she’s very rough and tough and won’t hesitate to tell him if his song fucking sucks and he’ll be like “whatever you say babe <3”

Other Nischa one, but I feel like realistically if they hadn’t died, they wouldn’t have ended up forming the same type of relationship/connection because of how paranoid Noel is about Mischa judging him, and how distant Mischa keeps himself from everybody

-it’s not as sweet and fluffy as everybody seems to write it as. They have so many issues and it’s not just heather being suicidal and Veronica having major ptsd, they have issues with each other. Veronica ignored her while her boyfriend assaulted her and left her alone with two drunk guy, and killed her best friend. I want ANGST

Perfectdolls is honestly so underrated. I think having an emotionally unstable, ginger ball of anxiety paired with tall, calm, shy blondie is so cute. Many people say that they wouldn’t work because of the way ocean acted towards Jane in the musical but if you look really closely you can see the small things that make it feel like it could work! Oceans canonically a jerk to everybody, she was even mean to her “best friend” Constance so it’s not just ocean targeting Jane. Ocean also begins to see how awful she was being and takes it upon herself to create and entire new song for Jane, voted for Jane, comforted her before Jane was brought back to life, and genuinely seemed to care for Jane near the end. I think they could have a lovely dynamic if more people enjoyed this ship but sadly many don’t. A lot of people see PerfectDolls as a toxic relationship but honestly that’s for almost every ship with Ocean just because of how she is. My personal ships are nischa, sugarspace, and perfectdolls but as always, it’s completely up to peoples opinions❤️

- I used to feel that a lot of people hated tinimmy from bob’s burgers. In 2021 (when I was 17), I got anon hate messages because I vaguely mentioned them and how I thought they were cute! The anon told me that I shouldn’t date and that it’s a good thing that I’m aroace bc I would be a horrible and toxic partner (bro??). I hesitated to post about them for a while. Thankfully, I found a community of tinimmy ppl who have taste

- I can’t really say that I hate a ship, I guess? Not unless it’s morally wrong. Oh! I don’t like reylo from star wars. Idk :/ I think they could’ve had an interesting relationship as siblings, seeing as Han and Leia most likely saw Rey as a daughter. - I think Thorfinn & Flower from ghosts on cbs are super underrated!!
