The Heiress, And The Twelve. Act I.
Episode IV: Courage, Is Not The Absence Of Fear.
Series: KPOP Girl Group: 이달의 소녀 (LOONA).
Pairing: OT12 & Mafia Heiress Female Reader.
Summary: The esteemed guests had finally paid the Y/L/N Family a visit, to which the members could have never expected the reason exactly as to why. But along with the confusion that their visitors had brought with them, was at the price of something shifting within Y/N at the situation she had been put up to.
[TRIGGER WARNING: VIOLENCE, INVOLVES MENTION OF BLOOD AND WEAPONRY. READ UNTIL 9’S PHONE CALL IF YOU ARE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THIS.]
“Have you ever heard of the story about felines predicting catastrophes before humans could even detect them?”
Hyunjin stared blankly at the man that walked in front of her with his hands held behind his back, a serene expression set on his features as his eyes gazed over to the blooming flowers that had surrounded his garden. At each exit of the field, several men in black suits had stood to guard them while the young girl with the oversized yellow cardigan tailed behind the tall man whom had graying strands on his hair, to which oddly made him seem much more wise than he was ought to be. But Hyunjin found that idea false, for the man that had stood in with his back turned to her had always spoke with a heavy tone in his voice—as if he had thoroughly picked through each of his sentences with extra thought, it was the exact reason why she’d allowed herself to become a part of their Family, after all.
“I’ve heard of it once, from Yves-unnie.. I think. When she was sitting by the courtyard.” the man hummed in response, stopping in his tracks and turning to face the thin tree that had stood next to him—eyes examining the flowers that had bloomed from them before smiling softly and looking down at Hyunjin.
“When I was around your age, my parents had always kept a few animals in the house—to the point of it looking almost like an animal sanctuary rather than a home to a Mafia Family,” Hyunjin’s eyes stayed locked on the tree as the man resumed his stroll, keeping enough distance to be able to listen to his story before she had rushed to follow after him, “it may sound odd—because what did you expect a house filled with hitmen roaming freely, fully armed at all times to look like—but you’d definitely not expect to find a deer to be standing by one of the ponds, drinking from it’s pool while a family of swans passes by and a butterfly sitting on top of one of it’s antlers..” the young girl tilted her head at the mention of the animals, feeling the weight that the memory had carried from how the man’s tone changed from simple reminiscing to the sudden somberness that had switched after he teased his Family’s lifestyle.
“One of my greatest friends, whom was also the Heir to his Family’s name always had this sparkle in his eyes whenever he’d visit, stating that how our Family had lived was so different compared to his—our home felt more of like a refuge than the active warzone that he had called his own,” Hyunjin’s lips pulled into a small smile just as the man peeked behind him to also smile at the girl, shrugging his shoulders before raising a hand to run his fingers through the flowers as the passed—something that Hyunjin followed as well but only by walking close to them and lifting her finger in an shy manner, “he’d always tell me that one day, he could only hope that he could build such peace with his Family—though he did wish that our Families had never split apart.”
“The separation between the Mun Family and Jin Family.” Hyunjin whispered, peeking over to catch a glimpse at the man as if he would confirm if her answer was correct—to which he did, nodding but pulling his hand back to rest behind him again as they strolled peacefully through the spring air.
“Our Families together ruled thousands of territories, commanded over millions of men—so much strength to which was soon overcome with overpowering ambition, the Jin Family never knew when to stop and so they brought it upon themselves to be left by another family whom had stayed true to their colors to this day.”
“Kim,” Hyunjin answered, more confidently this time. Her brows knitted in concentration as she recalled the notes that she had scattered all over her and Heejin’s bedroom floor, the older girl’s whining ringing in the back of her head as Hyunjin kept repeating keywords to herself as the other girl tried to sleep, “out of the three major Families, they’re the wealthiest when it comes to land and associates.”
“We don’t usually take sides, but if it comes to a war of some sort—they’d learn to lean on us, as we would to them.” the two then stopped in the middle of an empty pond, the only view from the structure was the flowing waterfall and several koi’s that had swam freely through the clear water.
“Before Jin had declared war against our Family—with Mother as the boss at the time—our home was attacked the night before, I was just about to go to bed after studying the entire day when this.. Yellow cat, a Maine Coon,” Hyunjin looked over to the man, finding his arms crossed but Hyunjin’s eyes locked onto the glimmering blue ring that was set in his finger—running a thumb on the gem as he looked at the pond as he recalled that night, “she had always sat on my Mother’s lap, but she’d always seem to have watched over me as I slept. And so on the night of the attack, she had woke me up by biting onto my finger until I had eventually awakened—with our people leading me out of my quarters just before I heard the gun shots start ringing.” the man turned to look down at the younger girl whom met his gaze half-way, the battered aura that the girl with wide eyes had usually carried was almost overshadowed by the amazement and curiosity that the girl had currently beheld.
“The yellow cat passed away just as I became boss, almost a year before my parents had passed due to old age. But those animals had aided me in my survival for my short-lived childhood, they were more of my allies than they were my parents’ pets.” Hyunjin tore her gaze away from the man to eye his ring that rested on his arm yet again, nodding in understanding before facing the pond with the man soon following after her.
“I see her in you, Kim Hyunjin,” the man couldn’t help but let out a hearty laugh at how odd it sounded, the personification of the animal and to the child he had just been introduced to within the year—but he knew it to himself that he had to let the younger girl know, “I believe that you have the same gift as she did—though you haven’t entirely shown signs of it yet—you have the same spirit inside of you just waiting to be awakened. You’re a special girl, I hope you don’t ever forget that.”
Hyunjin felt her heart hammering against her chest as her eyes snapped back to what was currently happening in front of her, the voices she managed to tune out after they've entered through the doors, exchanged pleasantries pierced through her bubble of sudden recollection of the conversation between her and the past boss a few years ago. She scanned the men that had stood by the bottom of the steps, surrounded by over a thousand of your people as a man with a prince-like aura to him smiled cunningly at Haseul—almost trying his best to appeal to her for them to carry on with whatever they had wished to plead.
"My name is Joshua, and here standing beside me are my members—Jihoon, Mingyu, Jeonghan, Wonwoo—and our Heir, Lee Chan," Joshua gestured to the suit-clad men that stood behind him before placing a hand on Lee Chan's shoulder, the weight of his hand seemingly heavy as Joshua practically pulled him from where he stood to almost offer him to the Leader—something which Sooyoung visibly winced at and Haseul could only eye the group for, "he had ordered us to search the city, for a particular friend of ours that had been left.. Unhinged."
"Unhinged..? What do you mean?!" Sooyoung's commanding voice made Joshua falter in his position and had the Heir taking a step back, as if he was already cowering in fear when he felt a more gentler hands rest on his shoulders this time—the man with the long hair named Jeonghan smiled up at Sooyoung whom looked furious compared to the different sets of expressions that had been plastered on her members' features.
"We're not looking for any trouble, we're just here for our friend. We've come here to inform you of that."
"And you didn't consult us.. On the first day of your search?" Haseul slowly dragged, eyes moving from one member to another as she now had placed a hand on her hip, to which the tallest of the bunch—Mingyu—let out a nervous laugh that echoed through the tense atmosphere before making eye contact with Joshua who's eye could only twitch at him. He then shut his mouth and inched himself closer to a stone-faced Wonwoo, eyes dead set on Heejin who had refused to meet his gaze since they've entered the courtyard.
"And this friend of yours—you're certain that he's in this city?" Mingyu couldn't seem to keep himself neutral, nodding in an almost child-like manner as Haseul questioned them. Chan lifted his head to look grimly at Haseul's pondering gaze, he swallowed sharply just before pulling himself away from Jeonghan's hands, getting down to his knees and bowing down completely to the Leader, leaving everyone in shock at the pitiful scene.
"Dino—"
"Please help us, Y/L/N Boss! I'm begging you!" he cried, continuing to plead with his forehead against the gravel and his members stunned as they stood behind him. The smile plastered on Joshua's face slowly fell into a contemptuous expression as he stared down at his boss before he got down on his knees to completely face the man, placing his hands on his arms in attempt of getting him back up on his feet but the boss pushed him back with tears falling freely from his eyes.
"No! They'll kill him, Hyung! He's lost his mind but we can't just—he's still my brother!" Chan shouted at his member who slowly fumed at his boss' words, which made Mingyu quickly spring into action and grab ahold of Joshua as the man thrashed in his hold.
"That's what I'm trying to stop—you idiot! You think I want him dead!? He's as much of a brother to me as he was to you—"
"Shut up!" Sooyoung's voice cut through the heated argument before the boss and his member, leaving the two silenced in their positions as they glared harshly at one another. Sooyoung pinched the bridge of her nose before turning to Haseul who could only stare at the commotion in thought before she slowly ascended the steps and got onto Chan's level, the boss almost cowering in fear but the small smile that had graced Haseul's features had offered a slight ease to the man.
"This.. Brother of yours, do you have any idea where he could be right now?"
"Hyunjin!? What—hey! Unnie, help!" Sooyoung rushed to the other side of the entrance to where Heejin had practically held her best friend up on her feet, the men that had surrounded the meeting had pulled out their pistols and had them pointed at the members of the Lee Family. Haseul stood from her spot as Heejin and Sooyoung practically carried Hyunjin back into the Mansion with the Leader motioning for the goons to put their guns down—turning to look back down at the Lee Family with a completely blank expression on her face, asking them to follow her inside and talk to her about it in the lounge.
"Yah! Kim Hyunjin! You're crazy—get a grip!" Heejin's alarmed tone rang through Hyunjin's ears as the two members sat her down in the infirmary, one of the nurses that had been Kahei's pupil quickly excused herself at the sight of the three, knowing well enough that they were all capable of the same practices as she'd learnt from the Fifth girl—but if any of the three would be an exception in the art of medicine, it would be Ha Sooyoung.
"No, no—This isn't normal, Yves-unnie," Sooyoung placed her fingers over the girl's pulse on her throat as her other hand worked on checking her temperature then gently tugging down on the bottom lid of her eye, "Yves-unnie you have to listen to me, something's wrong—" Heejin had placed a bucket right next to Hyunjin just the girl looked just about ready to pass out. Sooyoung then told Heejin to grab the girl some water as she firmly held Hyunjin in place, not wanting to make the girl any dizzier in her already rattled state.
"Hyunjin, you need to breathe."
"I am! But please, call Jinsoul-unnie. Call her right now, this is—they're in danger! Unnie—just listen to me!" Sooyoung's eyes scanned the pleading girl's teary eyes, failing to find a hint of any uncertainty and so once Heejin had returned to the room, Sooyoung quickly instructed the girl to watch over her best friend before leaving the room and taking her phone out to dial Jinsol's number.
"Sol."
"Are you in the school right now?" Jinsol furrowed her brows at the question, pulling her phone away from her ear to stare at the caller ID that had clearly shown the number '9' before she pressed it back against her ear, looking down at the sandwich in hand and then the fast food place that had almost felt as if it was inviting her to buy more. Jinsol couldn't help but shake her head at the thought before sighing to herself, pulling the door open to let herself inside the car and shut the door behind her.
"No? It's my break time."
"Jinsoul—do you even know what the time is!?" the dark haired girl winced at Sooyoung's bitter tone as she started the engine and pairing her phone to the speakers, carelessly tossing it onto the empty passenger seat next to her before leaning back and unwrapping her meal.
"Isn’t it Y/N's third period? She's literally right across the hall from Gowon. She has it covered."
"That was over an hour ago! She's in the middle of fourth period right now!" Jinsol stared down at her meal for a moment before glancing at the clock on the dashboard that clearly said 11:12 instead of what she'd seen as 9:26 a few moments ago. The girl was slightly alarmed for a moment, only to remember that it basically meant you were in the middle of class—surrounded by civilians.
They wouldn’t pick a fight with you there.. Right?
Jinsol quickly wrapped her sandwich before chucking it next to her phone and preparing to exit the driveway when Sooyoung told her that she was also on her way before she dropped the call.
Back in the school, Son Hyejoo was currently thinking about how she completely despised her Math teacher. Not only did the old lady had told her to stand in the back of the class when she asked Yerim if they had the same answers, but she also hated the woman for not letting her slide—not even once—about leaving her book behind when it was time for her class. Hyejoo could only walk down the halls of Blockberry High and make her way over to the lot, in hopes that her book was there—even if she didn't even do the damned assignment—just so she could continue sitting next to Yerim and watch the girl effortlessly solve the given problems, because watching the girl’s eyes light up was more entertaining than standing outside the hall until the class was dismissed.
The book had apparently manage to slide itself under her seat, most likely slipping out of her backpack that had always sat next to Yerim in the backseat—and though Hyejoo wouldn't call herself associated to any religion of some sort, she silently thanked whoever was watching her from up above as she shut the door of her car and started to make her way back to class.
And that's where she heard your voice.
“What do you want!?” you hissed harshly which made Hyejoo quickly duck against one of the cars closest to her, eyes setting on your fuming expression standing by the bench next to the vending machine as a tall figure wearing all black seemed to have took a slight step back, making him release your wrist that he had seemed to be holding as you clutched your arm to your chest, glaring at him. The man tilted his head to himself before looking back at you with an equally confused expression.
“What do.. I want?” he repeated slowly, furrowing his brows to himself as you stood there—not exactly knowing whether you should run or even attempt at a swing at the taller man—but you stood your ground, wanting to make sure he was gone before any of your members had caught up to what was happening and have the man even dare bring harm to any of them.
“I want power, of course. Enough for me and my members—and to command over fifty-thousand people..?”
“You’re stupid if you think killing a boss would mean you get to take over their Family.” you hissed as he looked at you like a kicked puppy, making him glance down—at what seemed to be a ring in his little finger that even Hyejoo can see from her hiding spot—before his expression snapped yet again to glare at you.
“You don’t know that! God, you all sound the same. You, Chan—I was the one that convinced them to let us go independent! Look where we are now!” his aggravated voice boomed through the lot, making you tense on your spot and take a cautious step back. Your eyes scanning the area for your members, finding Jungeun and Hyejoo’s cars that sat parked a few feet ahead of you which brought you an odd sense of comfort.
But it soon dissipated once it dawned into you that the owners were nowhere to be found.
One of them actually were, however.
“Alright then, I’ll take the lead.” your heart dropped the second your eyes followed the man's hand that had pulled a simple black pistol from behind him, his lips downturned as he popped the magazine to check if he had any bullets—giving you enough time to start running for your life—but instead, you stood there glued to your spot as he rolled his shoulders, smiling brightly at you and letting the nozzle rest in the middle of your temple.
“Now, be a good girl and take me to your members—” a blur of dark hair suddenly appeared from behind the unnamed man, the gun that was held against your forehead was quickly released into the air as the towering man flipped in his spot—falling head first onto the concrete behind him and was completely knocked unconscious before the gun slid a few feet away from him, with your eyes moving to settle on a familiar figure in front of you, eyes locked on the unconscious man with her hand gently holding onto your forearm as you stood there in shock.
"Hyejoo..? When did you..?" you barely even locked eyes with the younger girl when she was suddenly tackled onto the ground, the impact staggering you back in the process until you fell on your behind, watching the battle happening in front of you as you sat frozen in your spot. The supposed-to-be unconscious man had seemed to be aiming to grab ahold of Hyejoo by the neck, using his weight to keep the girl on the ground while his hands were being resisted by your member as she writhed under him. Your eyes quickly scanned for anything to help your member with—anything to knock the large figure that could’ve already ended the shorter girl under him if she weren’t trained—but as you did, your eyes kept flitting over to the pistol that had slipped from the man’s hold from earlier, your ears practically blocked out as the only thing you could clearly hear was the thudding of your heart in your chest.
"No! Y/N—look for Gowon-unnie! Gowon!" Hyejoo cried from her spot—as if the older girl was supposed to just appear out of nowhere once she called—when the man's fist had aggressively pulled back to swing itself onto the girl, aiming to hit her on the face but she managed to move her head the second it was supposed to land. His blood trickled down from his knuckles for them to meet Hyejoo’s cheek as she let out a piercing screech before starting to swing right back at him—landing a few solid strikes straight onto his dumbfounded state. You felt your heart falter at the possibility that the impact of his fist could've landed on the younger girl, making something inside of you snap and clambered to grab the pistol from the ground and stagger closer them, your hands shaking as you point pointed the weapon directly at the assailant with both hands supporting the weapon.
"Let go of her, or I swear—I will shoot." he stopped to look up at you from his position, the punches that Hyejoo had seemed to land on his face was evident at his busted brow and bloodied teeth as smiled ridiculously at you. Hyejoo had attempted another swing just as you had distracted him but he caught her fist without even looking down at her, continuing to maintain eye-contact with you in his bloodied state as he slowly started to laugh at the sight of you standing before him—hands shaking as you aimed his own weapon against him.
"You couldn't even move when I pointed a gun at you earlier—and you're telling me you'll shoot me? Go ahead, child, shoot me!” you swallowed thickly, clenching your jaw to will yourself into keeping the gun aimed at him but you couldn’t seem to ignore the sound of Hyejoo’s aggrieved grunts as she tried to get her hands out of his grip and the sight of her continued attempts at wriggling out of his weight.
“Hyejoo, I’ll get you out of there—”
“Shoot me or I swear—she’ll be unrecognizable by the time I’m done!” the last thing that had crossed your mind before you pulled the trigger was the members in your living room, the image of Sooyoung the first time she had told you that you could trust the members with your life—even though you’ve just met them. You could barely even feel the coldness of the weapon in your hands when several flashes of the members’ reassuring smiles directed to your clueless state when a bloodcurdling scream pierced through your senses, your eyes snapping over to the man you had managed to shoot just between his shoulder and his arm who had scrambled off of your member—panic setting in his features as he continuously muttered “no, no—I can’t die like this!” as he pressed a hand in his wound, shaken up by the sight of his own blood pooling across the sidewalk as he slowly seemed to be losing his consciousness in his spot.
"..Hey." your eyes snapped to the sight of a your bloodied member, the young girl eyeing you careful as you felt slight tug on the weapon you seemed to have kept in a tight grip. You let Hyejoo slip the weapon off your hands before watching the girl walk over to the frightened man—who raised a hand to beg for mercy—when the younger girl held the gun by the barrel to deliver a final blow through his insensible state, supposedly leaving him unconscious but it didn’t seem to be enough as he caught himself before he could fall on his front. Hyejoo then delivered a swift kick to his head that was surely enough knock him out for good just as a familiar blue car had just pulled over by the entrance of the school, the familiar figure of another one of your dark haired members quickly rushing over to the both of you with wide eyes as the pool of blood slowly spreading across the pavement.
"You're both.. Okay." Jinsol breathed in relief, a concerned expression on her face as Hyejoo wiped the drying blood stains on her cheek before turning to you and placing a hand on your forearm—cutting you out of your dazed state to look back at Jinsol’s uneasy gaze. You barely could move your head to nod in response but it seemed that the older girl got the idea, to which she just turned to face the unconscious man and reached over to grab his bloodstained hand— staring down at the ring in his finger with a indecipherable expression on her features before to whispering something under her breath just as several rushed footsteps made their way towards your group. You felt a hand pull you back and a figure quickly blocked you from the body in front of you, the blonde hair was enough for you to recognize that it was Jungeun as Jiwoo had seemed to have followed closely behind, turning to look at Hyejoo who wasn’t even looking at the the members—eyes directly trained on your still figure.
"Who did this!? Was it him!? Give me the gun Son Hyejoo!"
"No, Unnie—we're fine." the older girl moved to reach for Hyejoo’s face before deciding against it and pulling you in a tight embrace instead, the older girl cradling you at your motionless state. Chaewon, Yerim, and Yeojin had soon followed behind—the eldest of the three quickly grabbing ahold of Hyejoo by the shoulders to scan her for any injuries as the younger girl stood there with a pensive look on her face as she continued to stare at you.
"I don't understand—Hyejoo wasn't supposed to be here, if Hyejoo wasn't here.." Chaewon started, a gentle hand remained on Hyejoo's forearm before she turned to look at you with panic slowly settling in her features when Yerim gasped at the image that was set in front of you, her eyes moving to the gun that Hyejoo continued to hold by the barrel and piecing it together. She felt a slight tug on her shirt before turning to a guilt-ridden expression that had been on the youngest member’s state as she looked over to the vacant look that had set on your face as Jiwoo continued to hold you in her arms and tell you that you were alright.
"All of you, get yourselves back in Eden. Yves and I will get him medical attention when she gets here." Jinsol ordered from her spot, eyes moving to scan you and your members just as a familiar burgundy red sports car parked right next to Jinsol's at the front of the building. Sooyoung didn’t even shut her door before she had rushed over to where you stood in Jiwoo’s arms, the red-haired girl quickly taking you into her own as Jiwoo spotted her figure nearing the two of you. The older girl didn’t hesitate in reaching over and pulling Hyejoo in her other arm as well, just when her eyes started to tear up to which the younger girl couldn't help but groan at—slipping out of the older girl’s hold as you continued to be locked in Sooyoung's grip just as she had started to bawl her eyes out.
"Yves, he's bleeding out—we need to go."
"We'll be at Eden, Unnie. We'll be safe there! Please stop crying.." Jiwoo said from behind you, trying to console the older girl as she continued to stain your shoulder with her tears. Your arms gently reached over to pat the girl's back, your eyes finally willing themselves to take in your surroundings again as you watched Hyejoo and Chaewon walk over to Jinsol briefly—speaking to the woman whom had now held a hand against her forehead—before they nodding and making their way over to Hyejoo's car with Yerim and Yeojin. The two who you had just realized had been there the entire time held a disturbed expression in both of their faces, Yeojin looked just about as ready to leave with Hyejoo and the others.
They've most likely never experienced combat in a real setting before, just like you.
"Yeah, yeah—just give me a second," Sooyoung breathed deeply before pulling herself together, sniffling as her hands rested firmly on your shoulders—with you eyeing the distraught girl that looked as if she was going through an inner turmoil about the situation—making you reach over to fix her hair and give her what you could have only hoped was a small smile through your emotionless state, with a reassuring hand placed on her arm in front of you, "we'll settle this, so don't worry about it. Alright, Y/N?" you nodded in reply, not finding it in you to speak at all.
Sooyoung pulled away from you to face Jinsol, rubbing her nose with the back of her hand and wiping the tears in attempt to stop the continuous flow down her cheeks, completely turned away from you just as you felt a hand interlace with you—finding the usual bright smile wiped clean from Jiwoo's face, only to be replaced with a careful look as if sensing your delicate state. Your two older members lead you to Jungeun's car, with Jiwoo slipping herself with you in the backseat to just take you in her arms as Jungeun pulled out of the lot—with your eyes stuck on the image of Sooyoung and Jinsol quickly lifting the man by his arms to bring him to Jinsol's car just before they disappeared from your view.
You could barely feel a thing since the man had caught you by surprise, the image of his menacing smile stuck on a loop in your head as he pressed the nozzle against your forehead—the sound of the air being knocked out of Hyejoo's lungs when he tackled her down, the shot ringing through the lot just before Hyejoo pulled the gun away from you. Something has shifted just from the bloodied encounter, something you had somehow knew that you were going to stumble upon since you’ve joined the group—but you didn’t expect it to be so soon, for the situation to put you in such a spot that you could barely process fast enough what was happening in front of you. You didn’t know what came onto you, what made you even dare point a gun at a man just when he threatened a person you barely even knew.
But you’ve seen it, the way the members would lay their own lives in your stead—even Hyejoo whom you’ve never really exchanged a word with—something inside of you just clicked, a subconscious promise to offer your own life in also protecting theirs just as they would do to you.
For now, you’re free to feel the heavy burden of your shattered morals.
For now, you’re allowed to grieve the loss of justified actions and put the safety of your members above all else.
For now, you mourn the death of Ha Y/N and fully embrace who you truly were.
Y/N Y/L/N, The Heiress.
Hi,
Any Carats following along with this series? I was a Carat way back in 2018 and I was juggling between Seventeen and Blackpink at the time. Actually searching up the members’ names was trippy because it’s just something you’d think that would stick with you for years. I think I liked them just when Oh My just came out—I’m sure that they’re my first big member group.
Wonwoo was my bias but before I left my boy-group agenda, I’ve been into DK. I’m proud of where they are now, and I’m honestly contemplating going back but I’m just so into LOONA that I don’t know how I’ll cope if I even miss a single release from them—even news from some TV program Chuu gets invited to lmao (we love a booked and busy queen though).
Anyways, where are the other members of the Lee Family? And how exactly will this play out with this crazed lunatic that tackled Hyejoo once he gets sent back to the Mansion? I have a few ideas already in mind~ And if I finish Act I before this month finishes.. Then what?
It’s getting crazier and crazier~
Oh, and Hyunhye FOTM today—I was writing this so I completely missed it but I read from orrery-nim for translations anyways, but I feel more pumped to write after that, oh boy..
This update was meant for tomorrow, but since Hyunjin breathed today I'll keep writing lmao the grip~
Laters,
JJ.

Don’t lie
Seventeen 14th member
Hayun’s masterlist
“Hayun during Going Seventeen, based on this episode”
a/n: Feel free to let me know your thoughts as well as send me some requests💙. Ask box is also open to random chats.
“Hello” Hayun bowed to the producer after closing the small room’s door and sitting in front of her.
They were currently shooting an episode for Going Seventeen, and the producer was giving them their roles for the mafia game that was going to happen. Quickly reading over the rules, she declared Hayun’s role “You’re one of the police. You’ll get to meet your partner when the interrogation part happens”
Thanking the producer, Hayun left the room and waited around the couch where the boys were hanging out.
“Are you the mafia?” Wonwoo asked as soon as she joined them making her roll her eyes and poke his side.
“Why? Because I stole your heart?” She smirked at him making a couple of the boys laugh and Wonwoo sigh in defeat.
After a few more minutes, the director organized them and started recording, firstly giving them the general rules of looking for the money hidden by the mafias and then voting to kill someone off the game. Starting the search part, Hayun quickly got up and went to the kitchen following DK.
Rumming through the empty cabinets, she heard a quick wow from her left, making her assume Seokmin had found the prize.
“Already?” She looked at him with wide eyes and a big smile, now all she had to do was keep him safe and the money would be theirs.
“No” He smirked at her showing the wrapper of a candy “But it’s the one you like if it’s any consolation” Handing her one, he started laughing at the face she had made “At least I know you’re not a mafia. The face you made was pure excitement, you literally went °o°”
“I really thought we had won” Hayun smiled as well and left the kitchen, without any idea of where to look, she decided to just go where the most of them were and look for weird behaviors, she was one of the cops after all.
Speaking of weird behaviors, the girl mentally cringed as soon as she stepped out of the main house and saw Seungkwan rummaging through the trash. “My Boo, what are you doing there son?” she stopped her tracks and stared at him.
“Noona, there’s a light here,” He said pointing to the bright thing “Why would the put a light if the prize wasn’t here?”
“I don’t know, to be able to film when we’re moving” She stated the obvious making the boy look at her dumbfounded. “Really, get out of there and go wash your hands,”
Walking to the next house, she spent the last few minutes walking around the plants and checking under the tables to hopefully find anything. The timer went off pretty quickly and they all moved back to the couch in the living room.
“No one found the prize” The producer called out and they all sighed. Hayun wanted to laugh at the fact that three of them were just pretending to be upset, but she pushed it away and focused on their task of finding the mafia.
Sitting between Jun and Dino, she placed her arm on the backrest of the younger’s chair and unconsciously played with the hair on the back of his head.
“We’re voting Jun, right?” someone said after the long minutes they spent talking, no one had suspected of Hayun so she was just watching them talk, occasionally speaking about how Hoshi was more quiet than usual.
“Really, it isn’t me” Jun laughed but they had to keep going otherwise there would be no end to the game
“I’ll miss you” Hayun fake cried on his shoulders as everyone voted to kill him off.
“Citizen Jun has been killed,” The robotic voice of the producer told them and the boy left the circle of chairs/ couch to sit on the side. “The night has come, mafias will lift their heads and pick one of the citizens to remove from the game”.
Sitting with her head towards the floor, Hayun closed her eyes and waited for that part to be over. The doctor went up next, and if she wasn’t already sure it was Joshua, the noise from his shirt as he pointed to someone gave it away to her. She made a mental note of talking to him later and get him to protect her.
“The police will lift their heads up and check the identity of a contestant,” The robotic voice said making the girl raise her head carefully and immediately make eye contact with Seungkwan.
She had to fight back the urge to laugh since the image of him going through the trash was still stuck on her mind. He pointed to Woozi but the girl mouthed a no to him, pointing to Hoshi instead.
Shaking his head as furious as possible without making a noise, Seunkwan mouthed “WOOZI” to her making her roll her eyes. “The police is having some kind of disagreement right now,” Jun said from his chair Hayun looked at him with narrowed eyes. Taking her distraction as an opportunity, Seungkwan pointed to Woozi and the producer told them he was a citizen.
Lowering her head once again, she waited for a few seconds before the producer told them to wake up. “The doctor saved an innocent citizen” he declared making everyone jump from the surprise since the odds of saving the right person weren’t exactly in their favor.
After playing a game of Jenga to see if they would get more time for the search, Hayun noticed Mingyu whispering something on Seungkwan’s ear, and as soon as the time started both of them went together.
Mingling around the couch, she kneeled on the ground to look under the furniture and waited for him to stop talking to the other boys, before grabbing him by the arm and dragging him to the kitchen.
“I talked to Mingyu and it isn’t him either, we were speaking and you might be up to something about Hoshi, also I told Woozi I know it isn’t him and we agreed that Jeonghan is being kind of weird as well” He whispered to her leaning against the sink and Hayun slapped his arm.
“Why would you speak to them about that?” She angrily whispered to him “Are you really that gullible, I’m your partner, aka the only people you should trust. Maybe trust Shua and Woozi as well, since we know who they are”
“Sorry Noona, but Mingyu really isn’t the mafia either, I trust him,” He said and smiled mischievously “Are you jealous of me?”
“Arg, idiot, I’m trying to keep undercover, if you want to tell everyone what your part is, feel free to do so, just don’t drag me with you” She rolled her eyes smiling and left for the house with the plants.
Walking inside, she saw Wonwoo and Jeonghan looking under some plant pots making her laugh at the extent they had gone.
“This is the most desperate I’ve ever seen you two being” she commented approaching the counter.
Seeing her movements, Jeonghan placed the vase back on the ground and walked calmly towards her, as if there was nothing going on, but Hayun noticed his sudden change of interest.
“Why would we not be? it’s money we’re talking about,” He said nonchalantly while leaning on the small decorative table. Wonwoo seemed to have lost interest in the talk and was walking around still looking for the prize.
“Yoon Jeonghan, it would make sense for them to put you as mafia since you always cheat so much” Hayun pondered out loud and Jeonghan didn’t move from his spot.
“Ahh, Hayun-ah, stop thinking nonsense” He smiled making the girl narrow her eyes and leave without saying anything.
Hayun went straight to Joshua, who was just leaving the interrogation room, and pushed him back in “Please protect me next round” she whined making him laugh.
“First Seungkwan pleading when it was time for me to choose and now you when we’re just searching for money, what is up with you guys?” He smiled and she sighed, of course, Seungkwan had asked him to save his ass.
“Because we’re both cops,” She told him after making sure no one was around, thinking of herself as a hypocrite for getting mad at the younger boy for doing the same thing “And I’m pretty sure Jeonghan is going to come after me next, so pretty please help me” She pouted interlocking her hands together and Joshua sighed.
“Okay, okay,” He said with fake annoyance “You turn into a doctor and everyone wants a favor from you”
The time they had for searching ended and they all moved back to their spots. This time Hayun sat at the edge of the semi-circle, next to Wonwoo.
“Vernon, you’re looking like those blind mice from Shrek” the girl pointed out while waiting for the rest of them to sit.
“It’s my concept for today” He said with a blank face staring straight ahead.
“Let’s start” Someone said and they began accusing each other.
“Hayun, you start and we’ll go around the group”
“I think is Jeonghan” she deadpanned and Wonwoo agreed with her, making the older nod his head and try to keep a blank face. The rest voted and at the end, he had the most votes.
“Let’s go with Jeonghan then” “Time to vote”
“Mafia Jeonghan has failed” The robotic voice called out making the girl jump from her chair
“I KNEW IT”
“We all suspected it, calm down” Woozi laughed at her excitement, but he was happy as well.
“The night has come” After the whole process of mafias and the doctor, Seungkwan and Hayun raise their head together, mouthing Hoshi to each other and then the producer. “Mafia” the producer mouths back to them and they smile victoriously.
“Citizen Seungkwan has been killed” The robotic voice tells them and Hayun widens her eyes at the boy.
“I can only save a person once, so I can’t save you again the next round, Joshua tells her after they started looking. This time the search was faster, taken that Jeonghan kept walking around and giving fake hints to people.
Back to the couch, she squeezed herself between Seungcheol and Joshua and waited for them to start.
“It’s over when they ask did you find it? did you not find it?” Hoshi told someone after they asked if time was over and Scoups’ head shot up from the girl’s shoulder.
“No, they ask you who you suspect” He said and everyone started laughing.
“He made a mistake” Dino pointed at Hoshi smiling and Hayun had to fight back a laugh, at least she didn’t have to go through the trouble of convincing people he was one of the mafias.
“If this is the last night, shouldn’t the police come forward and tell us what they found out?” Wonwoo asked once the debating time started.
“I’m the cop, and I found out one of the mafias, but since I don’t know the other one I rather not say anything” Mingyu said from his chair and Hayun frowned.
“Okay, the other one it’s Mingyu, She said from her sport “The police was me and Seungkwan, and we investigated Woozi and Hoshi, who is, in fact, one of the mafia”
“Woozi too?” DK shouted from her right
“NO, no” Hayun shook her hands in front of her “Just Hoshi, Woozi is clear. But Mingyu kept talking to Seungkwan and getting information, so I think he’s the third mafia”
“Wait, there were two cops?” The tall boy looked over to the director and some of the members, Seungkwan included, started laughing.
“Mingyu-ah, why are you acting so suspicious out of nowhere” She smiled at him making him shake his head in defense.
“No, no. I was next to Seungkwan the whole time, so I asked him to check Woozi”
“I was next to Seungkwan last round” DK intervened making Hayun raise an eyebrow.
“Before that one” He waved him off “And he told me what he knew, so when he died, I decided to play his role, but I had no idea Noona was a cop as well”
“First of all, that’s not how mafia games work?” Hayun pointed out while crossing her arms “Also, since the beginning, you stuck next to Seungkwan and got him to trust you, which makes me wonder if you heard him while we were choosing someone to interrogate and decided it would be a good idea to have him on your side”
“I suspected Jeonghan and Mingyu from the start too” Woozi pointed out “Because during the first round when became day and no one had been eliminated the two of them were just shocked”
Joshua came forward to say who he had saved the other rounds and people started to put pieced together.
“Can I just say that it was kind of obvious to everyone that Seungkwan was the cop, so he asked for the doctor to save him since he felt that people might want to take him down first. And Hayun being the cop as well makes sense, since the way you were acting I knew you weren’t just a civilian, and the way you reacted earlier when you thought I had found the prize was very honest” Seokmin explained making some people hum in agreement.
“Am I really in danger now?” Mingyu pointed to himself in disbelief and Dino burst out laughing next to Hoshi.
The group began discussing who out of the two suspects they should kill first since there wasn’t another chance to keep going and they needed to find the money. Some people started saying they should kill Hoshi, since they were more sure of him than of Mingyu, while others thought they should find out if Mingyu was or not the mafia by killing him soon.
“Look, I’m the mafia” Hoshi got up the couch confessing “I’m a certain choice right? Eliminate me in the next round and get him first. He betrayed me!” He exclaimed while pointing fingers, which made Hayun fall back on the couch with laughter.
“Are you the mafia?” DK asked as if he didn’t already know that and Hayun clapped still laughing as the older confirmed.
“He threw me out just to get your trust, get him now” He screamed and fell back on the couch making her laugh even harder.
“If I’m a civilian, he’s tricking you right now and another mafia is still going to make it out alive” Mingyu tried convincing he was one of the good guys but Seungcheol cut him off.
“We can’t eliminate two mafias at once, we need to choose but either way, the only way we get the money is if we find it”
The debate kept going for a while and while everyone was trying to find some sort of smart decision, Hayun kept laughing at their weak arguments and clapping her hands every time Hoshi outed Mingyu for betrayal.
“Tell me where the money is and we’ll let you live, Scoups said at some point making the girl shed a tear from enjoyment.
“Vote for Hoshi” Everyone got up to vote for him but Mingyu intervened to say something Hayun wasn’t even following anymore.
Falling back on the couch, she covered her face and laughed at their weird train of thoughts while waiting for someone to chose who should be eliminated.
“Vote for Mingyu, one, two, three” Someone finally screamed and they all voted him out, turning to the producers and waiting for her to declare if they were right.
“Innocent civilian Mingyu is out” The electronic voice said making Hayun’s jaw drop.
“You’re a freaking amazing actor” She turned to Hoshi laughing and he smirked at her.
The night part started and she could hear Hoshi talking and walking around the room, occasionally asking different members if he should kill them. She was still giggling even though she probably would be the one taken out.
“The police can wake up and investigate someone” The robotic voice said making Hayun raise her head and stare at Soonyoung.
“Who is it?” she mouthed to him but all he did was shrug his shoulders and wink at her.
Looking around the room, she pointed to Minghao and the producer mouthed a “Mafia” to her, making her excited to have figured out who the mafias were, even though she killed Mingyu in the meanwhile.
“The day has arrived. Innocent civilian Hayun is out” The producer told them making her roll her eyes and get up from the chair.
“The best part about this” Hoshi said leaning back on the couch and placing his feet on the coffee table “It’s that she found out who the third mafia is and she can’t tell you anything”
“It’s okay, it’s okay, let’s focus on finding the prize even if we know all of them we wouldn’t be able to win” Seungcheol said getting up calmly, and in the blink of an eye he tackled Dino “ARE YOU THE OTHER ONE?”
Dragging a chair to where the people eliminated where sitting, she placed it next to Jun and sat down leaning her head on his shoulder.
“Noona,” Seungkwan leaned forward to see her “As cops, make an amazing audience”
Smiling at him she turned to Jeonghan “Where did you hide it by the way?”
“Under that small table in the next room, the one with the flowers on top” He explained to her since she couldn’t say anything to the others. “That’s why when you went there I was leaning against it the whole time”

Thirteen Princes Masterlist
Inspired by a post @dahyunmingyu made about Seungkwan being Mrs. Potts and Chan being Chip
Hello, reader. I'm the narrator, you may call me The Bookkeeper. I'm here to tell you the stories of 13 boys, all of whom I witnessed firsthand. I'll be by your side as you read about the story of each prince, no matter how twistedly heartbreaking, how teeth-melting fluffy, how virigious smutty or terrifying horrific it gets. I remember each story like it was yesterday. The thirteen princes of Pledis Kingdom are famous for being a tightly knit group, they're rarely seen in a group less than 4. Each prince has his own cut of the land and their families are known throughout the island for their synchronization when it comes to wars and battles. Each prince has his own story to tell, maybe a story never told, one you saw in a theatre or one you used to be read at night. You may be used to seeing the colorful images, hearing the vivid songs, but some may be more, how you say, dramatic or violent. The thirteen princes are eager to tell their stories and here's where you begin.
Fluff - 🧁
Angst - 🙁
Smut - 😳
Horror - 👻
Seungcheol (Robin Hood)
The eldest prince has a secret, he's the vigilante the resident head of knights is after. He's been taking a small portion of the goods and money that had been seized by the knights and giving it back to the poor, the children and the ones who struggle from time to time. To hoard this gold and not help the village pissed him off. When he starts to fall for a maiden, he's torn between his feelings and her safety. A smut/angst loosely based on Robin Hood.
Seungcheol is the first in line for the throne, a good prince. Maybe he should be careful of his little secret.
Jeonghan (Beauty and the Beast)
A horrible curse was placed on the prince of the Yoon kingdom. One cold night, a witch attempts to tricks the young Jeonghan to letting her in the castle. He rejected as he didn't know who was standing in front of him. Feeling hurt and betrayed by the so-called nice, charming prince Yoon, she cursed him to look like a unlovable beast until someone loved him for true or when the last petal fell of a rose colored blue. No one dared to go near the castle until the local inventor is kidnapped and the town blames the beast who may not even exist. The daughter of the inventor decides to investigate herself and meets the beast and his way of living. A horror story based on Beauty and the Beast.
Joshua (Snow White)
A hunter who was sent on a mission by the queen to kill a girl, the queen's envy of her beauty the cause of the heinous crime. But when he came back empty-handed, the queen sent her son, Joshua, to kill the girl, to toughen him up, teach him the world is cruel and unfair. When the two meet, it was love at first sight and Joshua helps the girl hide until his mother catches wind of the girl being seen on the outskirts of town. Clearly the rule "don't take candy from a stranger" doesn't exist in the Pledis kingdom as the girl is soon kidnapped after eating a poisoned apple. An angst/smut based on Snow White.
Jun (Sleeping Beauty)
The section of Pledis ran by the Wen family falls under a deep sleep when the curse placed upon Prince Jun when he was born finally comes true. A mysterious girl sent by her mother bearing gifts soon finds the ghost town, vacant of life, any bodies to be seen were in a death-like sleep. Her heart too fragile to experience the destruction finds the prince, a familiar face she thinks, and tries to awaken him. A horror/smut story based on Sleeping Beauty.
Hoshi (Cinderella)
The dance was supposed to bring everyone together, not tear them apart. A shoe found by the prince, a show belonging to the girl he danced with, the girl who would become his princess and eventually his queen. Families tore apart because their daughter's foot wouldn't fit, daughters disowned because they're not the next queen, girls cutting off their heels and toes to impress Prince Hoshi. All the girls in the kingdom are accounted for, except one who is known by her family as Cinderella, but she hasn't been seen in years. Hoshi feels this is his future wife and he's determined to find where she is and what her family is covering. A horror story based on Cinderella.
Wonwoo (Tangled)
Prince Wonwoo has been meeting a girl in a tower for years, ever since they were children. He never knew her name for she doesn't have one, at least she think she doesn't have one. One day, while they were playing, her caretaker called out for her, Wonwoo hiding under the bed, seeing the girl with magical hair helping the woman through the window. The woman started to beat the little girl, Wonwoo struggling to keep his anger back. As the woman left, he came out, telling his friend that he will rescue her one day and they'll go to the Lantern festival held by the Pledis kingdom every year. An angst based on Tangled/Rapunzel.
Woozi (Atlantis)
Only rivaled by Wonwoo as the kingdom's booknerd, the determined prince is ready to find a hidden city, long believed to be lost. He reads stories of Queen Kahi and the Pristin Princesses, fascinated by how an entire city can just vanish. His friends think he is foolish, except for the aforementioned Wonwoo, but he is convinced that there is a surviving kingdom under their very own. His expedition drags him and his 12 friends into a wild adventure. A mashup of all 4 genres, most likely a multi-part.
You know this story is a mash-up of everything, it may not be contained to just one story, there's simply too much to his adventures and misdeeds.
DK (The Little Mermaid)
He would always sing to anyone who would listen, children, elderly, even animals that passed by. His favorite place was the pier behind the kingdom, hidden in the forest. He liked to think the fish below the surface could hear and enjoy his music, and it was true. A mermaid started to leave him little gifts and notes as trinkets from under the sea. He has only caught a glimpse of her face, but he remembers the tail vividly, rose quartz, a pale pink representing love and healing and a light blue the kingdom dubbed Serenity. Unfortunately, he also attracted the worst type of sea creature. The sea witch, Ursula, wanted his voice as her own, so she tricked into being her own personal singer in hopes that he will find the girl. With time running low, what can Dokyeom do with no voice? A horror/fluff story based on the Little Mermaid.
Mingyu (Aladdin)
Growing up, Mingyu had to do some things he wasn't proud of. Steal a loaf of bread here, stab this man over there, yeet that guard to the kingdom over, you know... normal boy stuff. When Mingyu finds a lamp and is given a chance to impress the one girl he has had his eyes on for years, he discovers that maybe it's not your past or how you present yourself, but maybe it's what's on the inside that counts. A fluff/angst story loosely based on Aladdin
Minghao (Mulan)
When his father discovers that Minghao refuses to teach a local townsgirl because his admittedly sexist views, he tells the young prince the story of two lovers who were thrown for a whirlwind when a sudden war threatens to destroy the kingdom. An angst/fluff story based on Mulan
Seungkwan (Emperor's New Groove)
Cocky, brash, aggressive, flamboyant, loud, all these words can describe Boo Seungkwan. He has that type of personality that can make you love him or will make you want to rip his throat out. The villagers get fed up, and when one deranged kingdom workers attempts to poison him and he goes missing, no one seems to notice. It's not until a local girl, Y/N, finds a lost llama in the wild that Seungkwan realizes that maybe he is a bit too much. An angst based on Emperor's New Groove.
Vernon (The Princess and The Frog)
You would think the first time Vernon almost got cursed, he would stop asking strange people for his fortune, but no. The 2nd youngest prince asked for his future from a voodoo doctor and was transformed into a frog, the curse only to be broken by a kiss from a princess. When he convinced a girl who he thought was a princess to kiss him, the two are dragged into a trip where they must figure out how to get cured and avoid being found by the voodoo doctor. An angst/fluff based on The Princess and The Frog.
Dino (Frozen)
The youngest prince had a brother, it's rumored that the brother is dead or a traitor to the Pledis Kingdom. The truth is much more heartbreaking. The boy was locked up after accidentally injuring Dino with his ice powers. Dino was confused as to why his brother was locked up, so he constantly visited the door his brother was held captive behind, trying to talk to him, day after day, month after month, year after year. When the town is submerged into an endless winter, Dino has to figure out the cause with the help of a strange townsgirl before his brother is killed or the town is destroyed. A horror/angst based on Frozen.

Woozi~Soulmate
So I’ve decided to make a soulmate series for seventeen. I’ve read some other people’s and it’s given me the inspo to wright my own :). Anyways, I hope you like this, it’ll be one of my first Tumblr AU’s. :)))
(You can request these if you want :) )
(( your soulmate’s thoughts play in your head as a song. This also tells you their mood depending on the tone of the song. When you meet your minds both play the same song))
~~~~~
Your POV
You were currently sitting in a comfy feeling coffee house, studying for finals that are less than a week away. Although the comfy atmosphere helps, the stress and anxiety radiating off of you is making it slightly less cozy. You’ve drinken way to many cups of coffee to even count, causing your hands to shake slightly. You sigh frustrated, and place your things in your bag. It’s getting late and you should probably call it a night before you accidentally kill yourself before finals.
Suddenly you thought of your family back home in the states, and how you left them to live in Seongnam, South Korea. You decided to take a scholarship into a fine arts college. Luckily it’s your last year. You’re taking classes on how to become a music producer, or something along those lines. You honestly don’t even know what you want to do with the degree you’re getting, but you know you want music to be apart of your life.
As you were placing the last couple of things in your bag you began to hear a very faint cheerful sounding song. It sounded almost like the piano, which is what it usually sounds like. You smile a little to yourself, knowing somewhere in the world your soulmate is at least happy. You start dancing a little to the song, causing a couple of curious eyes to stare at you. You didn’t give a damn though.
You place the straps of your bag over your shoulder and walk outside. You didn’t realize it was raining and you cursed to yourself for not bringing an umbrella. You quickly pulled your hood on and sprinted as far as you could, which wants very far.
“Damn when did I get so out of shape?” You asked yourself under your breath.
You kept walking and you noticed you were passing by a music and dance studio. You look at how gorgeous the building was, and wish that you could someday work in a place like this, doing what you love.
You weren’t looking where you were going and fell into a huge puddle, the cold water seeping into your clothes immediately, causing you to gasp. You were almost frozen on the spot when you see a group of about 13 or so guys walk out of the studio. They looked at you and you kinda just awkwardly got up and tried to pretend that you didn’t just fall in a puddle.
Your face began to flush when they all rushed over to you asking if you were ok. For strangers they’re pretty nice.
“Are you ok?”
“Omg what happened?”
“You must be freezing!?”
You were suddenly bombarded with questions and you were just shaking you head.
“I’m fine really.” You say, but your body decided to betray you, and you started shivering.
“Here let’s get you inside.” One of the guys said. He was around your height, and suddenly you realized how tall everyone was compared to you two. A song started playing quite loudly in your head surprisingly when he grabbed your arm gently. You didn’t know how to describe it but it was beautiful.
You were taking mental notes of the song, hoping to turn it into something when he gently pulled you into the building you were just gawking at, and told you to sit on the couch. You did as told, but couldn’t help noticing everyone’s eyes on you. You blushed and this I think made everyone realize how rude they were being.
“Sorry.” They all said at the same time. You just shook your head laughing a little.
“So do you all work here or something?” You asked curiously. You regretted your choice of words already. What if they’re just… idk hanging out? Idk. ‘Stop being so awkward’! You thought to your self.
“Yeah kinda. We’re a part of a band called seventeen! And we practice and produce music here.” One of the taller boys said.
You start staring at them with wide eyes, confused as to how you got so lucky to meet a bunch of idols on a depressing day like this.
“Oh! That’s amazing! Wow… ok” you said stuttering to yourself. Trying to calm your red face.
“Uh, I make my own music too. Although, I’ve never actually showed anyone other than my teacher.” You said shyly, looking down at your hands.
“Well, if you’re comfortable with it, we’d all love to hear some.” Someone said.
All you heard were a bunch of “yeas”, and you were being pressured enough that you had your phone in your hand and were about to press play on a song you’ve been working on for a while. It’s a song that often plays in your head, and you’re pretty sure it’s your soulmates go to song or something.
When you press play, the guy from earlier came rushing into the room with some clothes for you to change into. He heard the song that was playing and kind of just stared at your phone weirdly.
You didn’t know what to think so you let it play out fully, and everyone clapped except for that one guy. And you didn’t know why, all you knew was that he was frozen still, and that song in your head kept playing louder and louder the longer you stared at him.
“Wow, that’s amazing! I love the lyrics, it really speaks to me.” One of them said. This is when you realized you don’t know any of them, and you just shared a really personal song to all of them.
“Hey, uh, just so I can tell who I’m talking to.. hi I’m (y/n) , what are your names?” You asked kinda awkwardly.
“Right sorry! I’m Hoshi!” Hoshi said giving you a wide smile, he’s the one that’s been talking the most you realized.
“I’m Vernon” Vernon said smirking slightly.
“Wonwoo”
“Dino”
“Jun”
“The8 or Minghao”
You heard a lot of names that you basically forgot all of there names the second they finished. The one that stood out the most was 'woozi’ . You’re not sure why, but hearing his name made your heart flutter in a weird way you’re not used to.
“Well it’s nice to meet all of you” you smile politely to all of them, they return the favor but instead of smiling they give you a big group hug. Dang these bois are nice.
“Oh here’s your clothes.” Woozi says, his ears turning red. You take them thanking him and look around for the nearest bathroom.
~
Woozi’s pov
Damn she’s cute. Like wow. I just met her but I already think I like her. Something about her just… speaks to me.
I sit on the couch with the rest of the boys and quietly wait for (y/n) to get out of the bathroom. I managed to find some spare sweatpants and a t-shirt from our wardrobe room that I thought might fit her well enough.
DAMN THAT SONG WONT STOP.
All you’ve been hearing is that one song ever since she walked in the door, it’s like she caused it or something.
…. then it hit you.
'What if… what if she’s my soulmate? ’
'No it couldn’t be.’
You argued with your self in you head, blushing at the thought that some perfect stranger could be your soulmate.But I’ve read about this happening.. it’s possible.
There’s only one way to find out. I’ll just hum the song and see how she reacts.
Suddenly she walked out of the bathroom, wearing the clothes you gave her, and you must admit, you think she looks even cuter now.
“Hey, do you want to hang out with us at the coffee house down the street? I mean, if you’re not busy you know.” Hoshi says, being the go getter he is.
She suddenly laughs and everyone is confused.
“Sorry, it’s just.. I just came from there and I’ve had so much coffee today that I think I officially have permanent muscle spasms now.” She said, causing everyone to laugh.
“Oh ok. Well we were just going to go get some coffee and come back, if you want you can watch us practice after.” I suggest. This is probably really weird for her, having strangers ask to hang out.
“Uh, yeah sure ok. Sounds good.” She smiles.
“Here, we’ll have woozi, Vernon, and Joshua stay here with you while we leave.” Hoshi says deciding the rest will go to the coffee shop.
You smirk to yourself and have the perfect plan.
Once the guys leave,you walk them up to the dance studio, and you three begin practicing your part. (Y/n) looks so impressed, and you can tell by the way her eyes lit up like a million fireworks when she saw you dance.
When you finished your first song she clapped and said,“ wow… I’m speechless. That was amazing.” You blushed and said “you really think so?”
“I do.” She said smiling.
Here’s where the plan comes in.
“Yeah, it’s just.. I’ve had this song stuck in my head for a while, and it’s been making it hard for me to dance properly.” I said.
“Oh yeah I hate when that happens. Of coarse I don’t dance, but it annoys me when I’m studying or something.” She says casually.
“How does yours go?” I asked hoping this was going to be real.
~
Your POV
You started humming to the song and his eyes got wide as hell, it almost scared you. You suddenly stopped, but then he started humming the rest.
What. The. Fuuuuckkkk.
How… how does he know that? It’s a soulmate song…only me soulmate would know it.. oh. OH. Ok.
“Wait… you’re my…”
“Soulmate?” He said chuckling and turning bright red.
“I guess so.” He said walking closer to you.
You both suddenly start humming the song really loudly and Vernon, and Joshua just kinda stare at you two and smile like little gushy children.
Joshua and Vernon start dancing in the background of the song you were humming and you both start laughing. “We need to make that a song. Like an actual one with lyrics or something!” Vernon said amazed.
You heard what he said, but all you could think about was the boy in front of you. You stared into his eyes, and couldn’t help the smile that creapt onto your face. You suddenly hugged him so tight that you couldn’t breathe.
It suddenly hit you, that this is the boy you’re going to spend the rest or your life with. And he’s one damn good one at that. How did you get so lucky?
When you let go, he was blushing so hard that you wanted to kiss him. But you didn’t because you were too shy.
“I can’t believe your my soulmate. I never thought I’d see the day where I’d meet you.” He said making you smile so hard you could die.
He suddenly leaned into you and you felt your lips connect in a passionate kiss. So much for being shy. You melted in his arms and you heard squirming and squealing behind you and when you pulled apart all you could see was Vernon and Joshua hugging and fangirling at you two.
“You’re too cute!” They screamed. Causing you two to laugh.
You look back at woozi, and can’t wait to experience all the amazing moments to come with him, your one and only soulmate. Who knew… that all it took to find him was way to much coffee, and a huge, annoying ass puddle.
The universe works in mysterious ways.
I hope you all enjoyed this! I had fun writing this, and let me know if you want a part two, or if you have a request for another member or something. Sorry this was kinda long, and confusing, and kinda sucky, but yeah :)
Break Up Songs
kind of like this fic
S. Coups: feeling are fatal by mxmtoon
Seungcheol was happy for you, he really was. He loved seeing your smile when he texted you, he loved seeing that little twinkle in your eyes when he would randomly visit your house (the twinkle wasn’t there when Seungcheol visited), and he was more than happy to help you shop for him. Seungcheol was the type to do whatever other people wanted him to. He was really, truly, happy for you, he decided that sprawled out on his bed with this song playing distantly, but he was almost certain that if only he could have told you how he felt when he had the chance, he would have been much happier.
Jeonghan: Tokyo Girl by Yozoh
Jeonghan really thought he was over you. But as soon as he saw you again he remembered everything that he had tried so hard to forget: how you could always make him smile even if you weren’t trying, how your upper lip curved into the most delicate smile, your laugh as it bubbled out of your mouth like a glass of sparkling cider. He had so much he had wanted to say to you, but he couldn’t muster up the courage and instead shoved his earbuds in and played this song. He had spent so long trying to convince himself he was over you, but it only took a second of seeing you to realize just how wrong he was. And now he was breaking all over again.
Joshua: over u by keshi
Joshua left you another voicemail, again. You stopped picking up a while ago, but for some reason he continued to call. He actually knew why, he loved you still and even though he was the one who broke up with you he was having the most trouble getting over the relationship. He would probably call again, say something about how he hasn’t felt whole since he drunkenly broke up with you, say something about how he can’t taste sweet things anymore, how everything tastes like sand. Then he’ll probably hang up and call again. If you ever listened to a voicemail before blocking him, under the sound of his quiet sobs (which you heard from time to time) you would hear this song on repeat.
Jun: I Hate You by Urban Zakapa
It’s the worst feeling in the world when you fall deeper into love with somebody while they only push you away. That’s what happened to Jun, when you started to push away and he started putting his all into the relationship. He would do his best to love you as wholly as he could so when you told him you didn’t love him and that it was over, it completely crushed him. He had tried so hard to get you to stay, where did he go wrong? Now he was driving to no place in particular, his head never fully grounded to what was going on, with this stupid song playing on the radio. He hated you, how you crushed him like that. He had to hate you, because he couldn’t go on hating himself.
Hoshi: たばこ by コレサワ
It had been almost exactly 24 hours since you and Hoshi’s fight last evening. When people would tell Hoshi that love hurts he didn’t know he it was actually true, because there he was; his bones ached too much to stand up so instead he laid on the hardwood floor with the uncomfortable material pressing against his back. This song he didn’t quite understand the words to played in the room as he kept his eyes shut thinking about you. It was all the things that didn’t matter that came to his head, like your favorite brand of candy and what you ordered at the cafe you went to every week. He did his best to remember these things because he knew he was never going to use this information again, they would only be memories of what was important when he was happy.
Wonwoo: Yumetourou (Acoustic) by RADWIMPS
Wonwoo always thought he was better than hopelessly feeling an unrequited love. So instead of believing that it was unrequited, he selfishly believed that at one point you had to have felt something for him. Maybe it was only his heart that fluttered when you touched him, maybe he was the only one who got excited when your paths crossed, and maybe it was dumb to make a mixtape for a person who was already dating someone else. But even with the dull ache in his chest and the runny feeling in his nose he still wanted to make you something that included this song. He would tell himself that if it was a different time you would be in love, but he knew he was really just a dumb kid in love with someone with a boyfriend.
Woozi: Where’s My Love (Acoustic) by SYML
The relationship between you and Woozi wasn’t healthy and it hadn’t been for a long time. Some nights both of you would yell until your throats were raw, some days you would get more annoyed with one another than either of you ever thought possible. But Woozi couldn’t remember those parts of the relationship anymore, he could only think of how you got him to believe in soul mates, how now that his soul mate had left him he didn’t want to do anything anymore besides cry. So that’s what he did, he would cry until he was out of tears every night as this song lulled him into a false sense of security that came with sleep.
DK: Talking To The Moon by KREAM
The long distance relationship that tore you and DK apart was relentless and neither of you were prepared. And DK knew that breakups hurt, but he didn’t realize how impulsively he loved you until every night come and suddenly he was staring at the moon wondering exactly where you were. Did you still love him too, or was he the only one who felt this broken? He had done everything he could think of to try and get through the night without thinking of you, but no matter what he did his head skipped back to you like a broken record and suddenly this song was playing through another night. Every night was sleepless and every morning was numb.
Mingyu: 춤 by offonoff
Mingyu had begun to feel like a burden when he continued to tell people he was still sad over you. So he begun to hold it in, he would smile until his cheeks stung, but he never told people that he could only get himself to smile if he thought of you. Mingyu didn’t enjoy much since your break up, everything felt like protocol just to reach the next day, and that included his drives. He would drive until his gas light came on, sometimes until he had to pull over and call a friend to pick him up (even though he had always wanted you to pick him up). When moments of clarity came to him, moments where he didn’t feel numb he was always driving and listening to music like this.
The8: You Loved Me You Killed Me by Odina
The hardest thing Minghao ever did was let you go. For months he would put all his efforts into breaking down your walls only to realize in the process you had built up more. Minghao didn’t have the most delicate of hands and sometimes he would hurt where he wanted to mend and because of that he let you go. You loved him, and he loved you, but something would always feel out of place and Minghao would always blame himself. Through tears one day he found this song and now whenever he thought of you the daydreams were accompanied by this song, and tears.
Seungkwan: Love Is a Losing Game by Amy Winehouse
The worst part about your breakup is that at the time Seungkwan was so sure that things between you were perfect. When you broke up with him with no explanation his mind went through the entire relationship and began to nitpick every thing he might have done wrong. If only he had loved you harder, if only he told you more, if only he wasn’t so thick at the time, if only he could do anything besides blame himself. Every sleepless night where he thought about you was accompanied by this song and constant thoughts of “if only”.
Vernon: Please Be Mine by Molly Burch
As to why Vernon broke up with you, he was not really sure. And every day after that he was either telling himself he did the right thing or that he was never going to be happy again, and honestly he didn’t know which one was true anymore. It’s difficult to break up with someone you love, and it’s even more difficult when you aren’t sure why you did it in the first place. Vernon tried not to think about it anymore because what’s done is done, but some days it's all he could think about. Sometimes he would look at your social media and see how you were smiling, he didn’t know to even fake smile at this point. Then he would think of this one song you showed his while you were together, it had no meaning at the time.
Dino: Ohio by Hyukoh
Dino got stuck in the past too often. And it seemed like every time he thought he was finally done living in the past he would shuffle his music or turn on the radio and there was this song, mocking him. He told himself when he broke up with you that he wasn’t going to cry, that his heart wouldn’t ache for too long, but the only person that Dino couldn’t lie to was himself. And no matter how much he pretended to be okay he would only get drawn back into the moment where he broke your heart. Dino never wanted to hurt you, but in the end he did. Only he ended up hurting himself more, but none of that mattered because he would take all your pain in a second.
The person they love is in love with someone else
[I’d just like to say that I don’t do angst, I’m not good at angst, I do not believe in angst, I do not support angst in any way. But I did this post because Jae (lover and supporter of angst) had other requests to do. Forgive me in advance for low quality angst. ~ Hae]
*The request was altered slightly so that all 13 members didn’t end up with the exact same scenario.
Chan / Dino
He’d never been in love before and Chan hadn’t known it feel like this. It was always described as butterflies and rainbows, but he’d never felt so much pain before. Besides an aching heart, his grief seemed to manifest as a physical, crippling pain that had him grimacing at the very thought of you. Unable to bear it any longer, Chan cut off all contact with you. He made excuses but he knew you didn’t believe him, and that it hurt you to suddenly lose such a close friend. He tried to convince himself he was doing what was best for you, but in reality he was very selfishly thinking of only his own aching heart.
Hansol / Vernon
He’d always known it would end up this way, but still the heartbreak was unavoidable. You were ten years older, have been in a steady relationship for years, and saw Vernon as just another idol to style. You never knew that he spent sleepless nights thinking of you, never knew that your hands straightening his collar or adjusting a sleeve would send his heart into a whirlwind, never knew that he hung around so often just because he loved your voice. When he’d shown up as usual only to find you flipping through white fabric swatches and wedding books, you’d never understood what had made his smile fade as you broke the news, and his heart. You didn’t know how much that first love had hurt his pure young soul, and Vernon was careful to make sure that you’d never find out.
Seungkwan
Seungkwan couldn’t accept the news. He wouldn’t. Sure you two had never actually dated, never rightly even met, but it hurt him just the same. “Why him?!” He demanded of his members, as if they would know the secrets of your heart. “He has money, status, and a comes from a good family. He has it all.” “That’s quantity, but what about quality? What about meeee?” Seungkwan left the room in a huff, annoyed by everyone’s teasing. It might seem silly and irrational to others, but he was genuinely upset by the news.
Minghao / The8
Tries to grit his teeth and bear it. He’s your friend, it’s his job to be happy for you. But Minghao can’t do it. You were his biggest weakness, and every time you meet up is a struggle. Constantly on the verge of confessing and begging you not to be with anyone else, he decided that it was best if you didn’t hang out so often. To keep himself from slipping up and spilling everything, he slowly distances himself from you. Not being your man was hard enough, and losing your friendship nearly killed him, but he had to do what was necessary.
Mingyu
He’d always been your close friend, “A better, cooler, braver version of a brother” you said. So Mingyu had been brave today. He’d smiled while handing you away, while listening to the vows he’d helped you write, while dancing and drinking and being generally merry with the rest of the wedding goers. It wasn’t until much later, when he’d left everyone inside for dancing and singing and speeches, that Mingyu let his smile slip. You were safe in the arms of someone else now, there was no reason for him to be brave anymore.
Seokmin / Dokyeom / DK
For seemingly the first time in forever, Seokmin was not smiling. He couldn’t smile, laugh, joke, or do any of the things you liked best about him. Not only was he losing his heart, he felt as if he was losing his best friend. How could he continue to be by your side and pretend to be happy, while you were building a life that didn’t include him? He couldn’t, it was impossible. His happiness had abandoned him, and it really seemed as if it would never return.
Jihoon / Woozi
You’d always been the inspiration behind his music. Whether you made him angry, flustered, ecstatic, he always took that emotion to the studio. One day, the music turned dark, the melody was heavy, the keys on the piano seemed to weep and moan. But then it was quiet. His muse was gone, bound ‘Til Death’ to another man. Silence was the piano’s only companion for a long while, until one day a prick of light seemed to enter Jihoon’s heart. You were where you wanted to be, he’d finally realized. Slowly, slowly, he allowed music to soothe his heart, constantly reminding himself that he could endure it as long as you were happy.
Wonwoo
Not once in all his years of life did Wonwoo see this coming. It was supposed to be like in the romance novels, where two quiet people fall for each other’s small mannerisms and oddities without actually speaking much. You went together beautifully, there was an instant connection. It was a friendship fit for the storybooks. This plot twist took him by surprise and he couldn’t do anything but sit quietly, in awe of his own blindness. Wonwoo hadn’t even realized that while he was falling in love with you, you were falling in love with someone else. “Straight from a fairytale.” Was how you described your new beau. It was like a fairytale for Wonwoo too, only this was one without a happy ending.
Soonyoung / Hoshi
It was a missed opportunity. Both of you had been waiting for the other to make the first move. But in an odd turn of events, you turned out to be the impatient one. You had moved on from your childhood crush and found someone that you truly loved. You and Soonyoung drifted apart over the years, as people are apt to do when they have a budding career and a new marriage and family between them. But you’d always consider him a dear friend. It was during a rare coffee date between old pals, that you recalled and mentioned how smitten you had been so long ago. With a smile that didn’t meet his eyes, Soonyoung laughingly confessed that he’d been quite in love as well. But of course he’d not been able to say that his feelings had never truly faded, or how much he envied the one you had chosen in the end. Instead you shared a laugh, a pastry, a hug for a former schoolmate, and went your separate ways once again.
Junhui / Jun
Junhui was angry. Angry with you for loving someone else. Angry with himself for falling for you. Angry with his casting agent for ever getting him this part. It was so cliche, co-stars possibly falling in love on set and being a rumored couple onscreen and off. He should’ve known it was too good to be true. While it might have been real for Jun, you were simply playing the part for the cameras. When shooting and promotions ended, you casually introduced Jun to your fiancee. With Oscar worthy acting on his side, Jun smiled and laughed and went along as if his heart hadn’t just been broken. He’d wanted to be the real life love interest, but it turned out he was just another co-worker.
Joshua / Jisoo
His brain had known she would move on, but Joshua’s heart was convinced that she’d wait, that they would be together again someday. But his faith was shattered by your phonecall. It was quick, to the point, and ended with an empty whisper of “Congratulations.” The next few days were filled with more calls, texts, emails; from his brother, his mother, old friends, even a neighbor or two. All checking up on him, to ‘see how he was holding up.’ They used gentle words and treated him as if he were in mourning, each offering their condolences. Condolences for a wedding struck his numb mind as odd, but his heart saw it fitting. After all, you and your new husband had killed his dream.
Jeonghan
A real relationship, she’d claimed to want. Jeonghan surprised her by confessing that he was willing to be whatever she needed. He’d offered anything, everything, tossed aside his pride to beg that she change her mind about leaving. “If you want more, I can be more. We can be more.” When she could no longer blame it on Jeonghan, when she had no more wild excuses, she’d been forced to tell the truth. There was already someone else. She did want more, just not with him. When she left the apartment, Jeonghan didn’t remember. He had wanted to be calm. He’d wanted to stay in his right mind and get through this, but she had always been the one to drive him to a point of madness. When Jeonghan had come to, he was sitting on the bed they’d shared for so many years. Beside him was the velvet box he’d kept hidden but always ready for The Perfect Moment. In his palm was the circlet of gold that he’d once dreamed would grace her finger. But his eyes would remain dry. He would rather have died than shed a tear over her.
Seungcheol / S.Coups / Scoops
As a leader, Seungcheol felt that is was his duty to keep up a strong front for his boys. They all knew about your relationship, and were aware of some falling out between the two of you. Months passed things seemingly went back to normal. Seungcheol seemed fine, so surely it was an amicable breakup. He never let his members see him cry, not even those he usually confided in. This was a misery he kept to himself as he carried on as usual. Seungcheol stayed strong and brave not for himself, or for you, but for his members. Because what kind of leader would he be to burden his own group?
Could Be Fun
Request: 16 and S.Coups!!
16) A party with your bias group ends with a game of seven minutes in heaven
Member: Seventeen’s S.Coups x Y/N
Type: Fluff
You clutched to the red solo cup Hoshi had pressed into your palm nearly two hours ago. You stirred the clear liquid within by flicking your wrist, watching the bubbles swirl with your every movement. You hated the way it smelled, but you sipped on it nonchalantly, trying to keep your mouth busy so you wouldn’t have to speak.
Or do anything else with it.
You heard a collective cheer sound from the living area as two more names were drawn from the jar Mingyu was holding. He and Jun had spent the better part of the evening scrawling guests’ names onto tiny slips of paper and depositing them into the jar, prepping for what they described to be “the most epic” game of seven minutes in heaven anyone had ever seen.
You tilted your head, leaning up on your tiptoes to see Jeonghan being shoved toward the small closet where the boys’ kept their coats. A gaggle of girls floated behind him dragging a girl with a mint green pixie cut. Both were pushed into the closet where the door was promptly closed. Hoshi, the master of ceremonies, leaned against the door and signaled the time beginning for this round.
You turned back around and leaned against the kitchen counter, taking a deep breath before you drank another swig from your cup. You looked up to the ceiling and closed your eyes, trying to remember exactly why you had agreed to show up to this party. Mingyu had blown up your phone, occasionally peppered in with a passive aggressive text from Wonwoo every now and again, but it was the call from Seventeen’s leader that really sold you.
You had known Seungcheol almost as soon as you had moved to Korea. You had attended some of the same classes in university and grew close as you had similar senses of humor and interests. It was only natural that you would become close with his members as well since they were constant pillars in his life. He was a devoted and busy leader to his group so you had grown apart at various points of your friendship, but you were always close with one member or another during the time in between. You were the group’s unofficial noona (as the spot of eomma was already taken.)
When Seungcheol’s name had appeared on your phone’s lock screen, he had insisted that the party wouldn’t be a true party unless you had plans to attend. Somehow with his simple request, he had struck a chord within you that you weren’t even aware was there.
And here you were.
You opened your eyes again just as you felt a small nudge against your arm. You looked down to see Dino breezing past you, a bag of chips in hand.
“Sorry,” he hummed, his eyes wide. “Vernon and I needed snacks.”
“Where have you guys been?” you questioned, taking another sip from your cup. “I’ve been here all day and haven’t noticed you at all.”
“Playing monopoly,” Dino sighed, chewing on his lip. “With Joshua hyung...”
“He doesn’t approve of this, does he?” you chuckled, waving around at the party pulsing around you.
“It’s not the party that bothers him,” he continued. “It’s the closet kissing game.”
You tried to stifle your laughter at Dino’s name for Seven Minutes in Heaven. “Ah, I see.”
“He wanted Seungkwan to play with us,” he hummed. “But you know how he is when the members pull out the karaoke machine.”
You looked over to the dining room where Jun had set up the karaoke station. Come to think of it, every time you had glanced in that direction, Seungkwan had been holding the mic and singing his heart out. Various party goers had come and gone, but one thing remained the same. Diva Boo was not giving up his spotlight.
You turned back around as Dino gave a small wave and tiptoed back down the hallway, disappearing into one of the bedrooms where you heard a distinct click of a lock. You shook your head and laughed, pulling yourself up to slide onto the counter top. Maybe if you knocked, the boys could leave you a spot for the next round of Monopoly.
You kicked your feet as you looked around the kitchen, eying up the snack selection. If it’s one thing the Seventeen boys knew how to do, it was to provide an impressive snack display.
“Want a carrot?” Jihoon muttered as he stepped in front of you, picking at a vegetable plate. He chewed idly on a piece of broccoli before spinning around. “Maybe some celery?”
“You know me, I go to parties for the vegetable selection,” you grinned. “Having fun, Woozi?”
“Hardly,” he grumbled. “If you didn’t hear, I was the first one to get shoved in that closet. Ignoring the fact that it smells like a hamster’s cage, the girl I was paired with wouldn’t detach from my neck.”
He adjusted his turtleneck to show a large, dark, purple hickey glowing on his fairly pale skin. “My manager is going to kill me. And it’s not like it even felt good. I know she was nervous, but I would have been content with playing rock, paper, scissors for seven minutes to be honest. No one asked her to morph into an octopus and attack me.”
“Who was it?” you asked, wide eyed.
“She didn’t even tell me her name,” Woozi sighed. “And she disappeared quickly thereafter. Probably to avoid assault charges.”
You laughed and leaned forward, reaching around Woozi to grab a carrot. “The night could always become more exciting.”
“Seven minutes is up!” Hoshi shouted, pounding on the door. He tugged it open to reveal a smirking Jeonghan and a blushing female. “How’d it go?”
“I don’t kiss and tell,” Jeonghan said smoothly as he sauntered out of the closet. The girl with the mint hair groaned as she shuffled off into the opposite direction, her hands covering her face.
“Yah, what a showoff,” Woozi clucked from beside you, shaking his head. He scrambled to sit on the countertop as well and began gnawing on a piece of celery. “Have you been chosen yet?”
“I didn’t let Mingyu put my name in,” you nodded. “He knows I would kill him.”
“Really? I could have sworn I saw-” Woozi began as Mingyu began to shout for everyone to quiet down.
“Alright people,” MIngyu called out. “Let’s get one last couple in before we call it a night....we have...oh! Another Seventeen member! Please step up...our fearless leader, Choi Seungcheol!”
A deep groan erupted from the corner of the room as Seungcheol was pulled to his feet and thrust in the direction of the closet Jeonghan had just emerged from.
“And...Y/N!”
You gasped as your head snapped around. Your pupils shook as you attempted to focus on Mingyu and give him the best death glare you could manage.
“I thought you said you weren’t going to put my name in that stupid jar!” you argued just as Jun turned the corner and grasped your arm.
“Mingyu may have said that, but I did not,” Jun chuckled. “Next time, get it on paper.”
“Yeah, and then you’d argue that I didn’t get it notarized,” you grumbled. You looked over to Coups, his cheeks bright as cherries. You didn’t want to make it seem as if you were displeased at the idea of being locked into the closet with him because that wasn’t the case. You were displeased by the idea of being locked in a closet in general, especially as a form of entertainment for the partygoers around you. Seungcheol’s comfort shouldn’t have to be compromised to make the party atmosphere more interesting.
But you couldn’t get that argument out as Jun tugged you along and shoved you into the dark and damp closet.
Coups was thrown in after you, the wood door slamming with a fair amount of strength. He stumbled forward, knocking you into the thick coats behind you. You were both breathing heavily, a mix of nerves and adrenaline, as you stood chest to chest. You were very aware of his body heat and heart pounding just a few inches from yours.
“Am I standing on top of shoes?” you whispered.
“Hold on,” Coups sighed. You could hear shuffling noises as he fumbled around in the darkness. Finally you heard the click of him tugging on the pull string to the lamp. “Yes, those are shoes.”
“You had to confirm?” you chuckled. “Don’t you live here?”
“Not in the closet,” he muttered, looking around with a wince.
Your eyes traced across Seungcheol’s jaw slowly, across his cheekbones and down his nose. Your breathing grew more shallow as you continued to look at him. He really was handsome. It was amazing how when forced into situations like these, you started subconsciously seeing people differently.
You chewed on your lip as you continued to look at him, curious if he saw you as a sister or as a friend...or if there was anything more. He kept his eyes averted, busy counting the coats behind you.
“Are you having fun?” you asked after a few moments of silence.
“Right now or in general?” he chuckled, a warm smile on his face. His eyes finally lowered, meeting yours for the first time.
“We hear an awful lot of talking in there!” Mingyu shouted, pounding his fist on the opposite side of the door.
“Aigoo, won’t you be quiet,” Coups shouted back, giving a half hearted knock on your side. He turned back to you and shook his head. “I’m sorry about them. I knew you wanted to keep your name out of this.”
“And you did too,” you whispered. “I heard you pull Jun aside.”
“Mingyu told me I should’ve gotten the agreement in writing,” Coups clucked. “I can’t wait to get that beanstalk in the practice room tomorrow. He’s going to dance until his knee caps fall off.”
“That’s an interesting body part to fall off,” you giggled. “I surely thought his feet would go first.”
“He’s got weak knees,” Seungcheol muttered. “You should try getting a piggyback ride from him sometime. Falls right over.”
You chuckled, leaning back into the coats. Your foot slipped as you moved, your ankle bending around one of the boots you were precariously teetering on. Bouncing from the coats behind you and attempting to regain your footing, you fell forward, placing your hands on Seungcheol’s chest to steady yourself.
“Are you alright?” he whispered, patting down a stray hair now at his eye level. You nodded as you pushed from him, but he kept you held close. “We only have a few more minutes in here...um...we should probably you know...at least mess up our hair or something? Make it look like something happened?”
“Why play into it?” you hummed, your face only inches from his. “You’ve never been one to give into pressure.”
“Well...it’s kind of fun,” he nodded. “Throw away your inhibitions and kiss someone because the universe happened to match up your names randomly.”
“I’d hardly call Mingyu the universe,” you chuckled with a wink.
Aigoo,” he groaned, rolling his eyes. “You know what I mean.”
“So what you’re saying is...it would be fun if we kissed...because you believe fate made MIngyu pick our names out?” you asked, lifting your brows.
“When you say it like that...” Coups grumbled, looking down to his feet. You instinctively placed your fingers on his jaw, lifting up his face to force him to look at you again.
“It could be fun,” you whispered carefully with a small nod. Seungcheol’s eyes snapped forward to stare into yours, a slow smile pulling at the corner of his lips.
“You think?” he hummed, his voice barely louder than a breath.
“I think,” you nodded. Seungcheol’s lips hovered before yours for a moment before he placed them cautiously on yours. His movements were tender and sweet, filled with a rawness you weren’t prepared for. He reached up slowly, cupping your face in his long fingers, keeping you still. You felt your cheeks growing hot as he held you, letting his lips tell you more than he ever really had.
“Times up!” Hoshi shouted, yanking the door open. Coups quickly dropped his hands from your face and sprung backward.
“You two...you two were kissing...?” Mingyu trailed off, his eyes wide as he looked back and forth between you and Coups.
“Well, seeing as how you couldn’t see through this door,” Coups whispered, looking over to you with a wink. “Sounds like gossip to me.”
You closed your eyes, trying to hide the chuckle desperately trying to escape your mouth. You opened them again to focus on Seungcheol’s lips.
“My previous ability to see aside,” MIngyu continued, furrowing his brows. “I can see perfectly fine now and I’m pretty sure Y/N’s lipstick isn’t your shade...so why is it on your lips?”
Seungcheol’s eyes grew wide as he looked to you and touched his lips gingerly. Mingyu grinned and leaned forward, patting Coups on the shoulder. “Nice try though.”
↳ hanahaki au
◇ pairing: jun | reader
◇ genre:
◇ word count: 1,398
◇ disclaimer: I do not own thehanahaki disease concept.
The first thing she saw when she opened her eyes after vomitingwasn’t at all what she had expected, what was once simply Jonquil flowerstaunting her they were now covered with blood, as suffering from it was enoughit was going to kill her. She rememberedrolling her eyes when one of her friends told her about the disease scoffingthat it wasn’t really a thing and that her friend had just skipped a week ofschool because she felt like it, oh how irony worked. The next week when sherealized she was hopelessly in love with her very best friend. She realized itwhen he was up on stage kissing another girl for a show, it was then that sherealized she wanted everything with him. She wanted the hand holding and makingout somewhere in the university library, she wanted to wake up next to himafter a night of making love, she wanted him and it was fucking terrifying.
She slowly got up from squatting on her knees and made herway to the sink, she eyed her appearance, her once pinned back locks nowfrazzled with sweat and her once perfected winged liner smudged from the tearsthat fell. She washed her hands and made sure to leave no trace of flowersanywhere where her best friend could find, she wasn’t going to confess to him,being his friend was simply enough. Shealso knew that this was killing her and she was letting it, for getting the surgeryto remove them and remove her feelings for the boy outside the bathroom doorwas unacceptable.
“Are you feeling okay?” She jumped when she was met with hisbody after shutting the door, she was expecting him to still be sitting on thecouch in the living room where their textbooks lay and some random anime playin the background; she should have known he would’ve been outside the lockedbathroom door when she stopped laughing at one of his jokes and nearly brokedown the door as she lost the contents once settled in her stomach.
“I’m fine Junhui, it was probably a bad batch” she whisperedher throat lingered with petals causing a tickle to induce her to coughing. Hesimply nodded his head and wrapped an arm around her waist.
She couldn’t help but think of telling him right then andthere as they cuddled on his couch and cracked more jokes as they studied, ifanything she’s read about this was also true wouldn’t she peal of the Band-Aidsooner than allow herself to die? But then if he didn’t like her back wouldn’tshe die anyway? She looked up from the crook of his neck and saw him completelyenchanted by the movie on the tv, she had forgotten he had even put the moviein. She loved him when he was bare faced, his skin showing the results ofwearing stage make-up for the shows he was a part of, she loved how his skinshowed off his dedication to being an actor, he was one of the very best ontheir campus, she was positive he was going to end up going to Hollywood oneday and she hoped that she would be there with him. His coffee colored locksparted down the middle, she remembers when he snapped his new color to her whenshe was in the library with Wonwoo. Their close friend Mingyu had colored andcut it due to Jun’s request and it was then that she decided there wasabsolutely nothing more ethereal than Wen Junhui.
She slowly got out of his embrace and cleaned up her trashmaking sure to return the room how she entered it, completely clean but stillwith a Junhui touch. She was crashing in his apartment due to her dorm beingpre-occupied with lust from her roommate and a willing and completely eagerSeungcheol, that same friend who told her about the disease had confessed andher feelings were reciprocated and nothing was going to stop them from provingit to one another. It made her absolutely sick.
She grabbed her keys and made her way back to the sleepingboy and dipped her head to his cheek where she lingered a bit before peckinghim goodbye.
The next morning and another night of flowers later theyfinally met up again, he was with his dance team now and the members adoredher.
“You look like shit noona,” Minghao said as he greeted herwith a hug
“Wow thanks Minghao you sure do know how to make a girl feelstunning” she retorted as she playfully punched him in the shoulder after they separated.
“In all seriousness what happened? Did you and Jun finallyconfess to one another and you two had a laugh because of how idiotic thiswhole thing was?” she was stunned at the sophomore dance majors exclamation asif she forgot how the boys talked, it meant a chance with him but she couldn’thelp but assume he was teasing her, knowing very well that she was sick, sickand afraid of unrequited love.
Meanwhile across the studio Jun and Soonyoung watched thetwo playfully interact, Soonyoung couldn’t help but look at his friend indisappointment.
“You should tell her you know”
“Oh yes, I should say I’m completely and utterly in lovewith you and I’m fucking terrified you don’t feel the same!”
“What’s wrong with confessing?”
“Rejection and three years of friendship down the drain”
“You know what’s not worth it?” Soonyoung spoke quietly,startling Jun from the contrast of the conversation beforehand
“What is it?”
“Losing her altogether, Seungcheol texted me earlier duringclass and said Rose found her kneeled over in the rest room coughing upflowers, she has the disease, she loves someone and doesn’t realize he lovesher just as much”
“She could love anyone, she’s close with Jeonghan for all weknow it’s him”
“Junhui get your head out of your ass and confess!”
Soonyoung pushed the male towards where she was stilltalking with Minghao and an eager freshman who went by the name Dino.
“Hao, Chan can I steal her for a minute?” she stoppedexplaining her disease when he pulled her by her arm, as if she was going to bescolded.
“Listen, Hosh said something and I need to know okay so don’tlie to me” she simply nodded, her head down as if she were counting thescratches that littered the wooden floor.
“Are you spitting up bloodied flowers?”
“Who told you” her voice was now small, she wrapped her armsaround her body as if she were now naked in front of him, she suddenly feltinsecure, yes she was puking up her feelings but he didn’t need to know aboutit, she was taking care of it well she was.
“I am”
“Why?”
“Junhui don’t bullshit me you know why” she respondedfinally looking up from the ground and looking straight into his gorgeous honeyeyes. His eyes were painted with so much concern and a look she couldn’t decipher.
“Tell me a secret”
“I’m in love with you and I’m terrified, I’m terrified youdon’t love me back and I’m going to die by the power of Jonquil flowerstaunting me and tearing me apart”
“What if I told you I loved you back? I loved you just asmuch and I’m also terrified I’m going to lose you?”
“You do?”
“I’ve loved you since the first day of class, you walked inwith a know it all attitude and you had the guts to talk back to me when Iassumed I had it all figured out, how could I not love you”
He was suddenly closer now, she noted how his body wasnearly pressing up against hers, his leg between her thighs, If she were tokiss him now she could. His lips were up against her ear and if she turned justslightly she could meet him halfway.
As if he read her mind he wrapped a strong arm around herwaist and pulled her to his welcoming lips.
“I love you I love you I love you”
