the weather’s giving me whiplash lol

it finally got cold and started to fell like fall and then all of a sudden yesterday it felt like summer again, i was sweating, I put my kids in jackets when we went outside but it was immediately clear they didn’t need them xD

and tomorrow it’s supposed to be 23!!! and then drop down to 11 during the week... what

I already changed out all my summer things too...

But I can’t find my ratty do-nothing day shirt... so I’m still wearing a tank top.

yeeeah that was a week.

every single day we were understaffed, more often than not a lot understaffed. It was just bad timing. A bunch of my coworkers got sick with something pretty nasty (my one coworker took two and a half days off to get over it and said she’s never done that before in 9 years working... she is the definition of Japanese “gaman” spirit so I totally believe this was The Nastiest Of Colds)

So she was out Mon and Wed and half of Tues. Two other workers were out three days, a fourth was out the whole week (the teacher with burn-out from last week is taking a second week), and a fifth got sick on Fri and was out. Our admin assistant was out sick on Thurs as well, only relevant because 1) sadly she has to not do her own job to help in our classrooms when there’s no one else and 2) if she’s not here we teachers have to somehow man the front desk while watching over our classes... which are in a separate area with closed doors... >_>

On Mon all classes were missing one teacher xD

Also, my other co-teacher was out two days because a relative passed away unexpectedly and she had to go to the funeral.

So it was just all things that can’t be controlled, everyone doing their best... just horrible timing when they all happened at once x’D Those of us who were well just had to do our best. We juggled schedules and even kids (because we have to maintain 1:6 ratio but some days we didn’t have enough teachers in some classes, so we send kids from those classes to other classes for the day). Our saving grace was that often, if teachers are out sick, so are kids... so we didn’t have full classes. Even so, we were so nervous what to do about the babies, because they really need all hands on deck.

And on Fri I had to send one my own students to a diff class because my co-teacher went to help an understaffed class so my other co-teacher and I could only have 12 kids. And that was so hard because he cried when I took him to the other class, even though he knows those teachers and students and likes them, and I explained that i would come and get him and it wasn’t forever... but of course he was surprised and confused, he’s only 3. We picked him because he’s one of the most mature and easiest kids in our class (also he’s a particular favorite with the teacher who was going to look after him that day xD) but naturally he didn’t like having his usual routine disrupted and he’s too young to really understand what it’s happening too. I felt so bad and I missed him :( But he did calm down and had a great time. It was also really cute how the other kids in my class kept asking about him and whenever they saw him in the hall/outside they would call to him excitedly <3

Also when teachers are out the rest of us have to cover both their teaching duties, classroom duties, supervision duties, and cleaning duties. And on the day that both my coworkers were out, I had to do three people’s worth of cleaning T_T I actually had to trade off time with my coworker so I would have enough time to get it done before going back on duty.

So Mon-Tues-Wed I didn’t get a break. I mean, on paper, I had break time, but I mean I couldn’t use it to take a break. I had too much to do. On Thurs, I could take a half hour break to eat yakiimo from don quijote. (Actually I meant to do paperwork while eating it but I got nettori kind and it was sooooooooooo wet x’D I couldn’t touch anything else, my fngers were so slimy. but delicious. I still prefer fluffy kind (hokuhoku).

Fri tho once again, no break since four teachers were out T_T soooo busyyyy

oh and this prob goes without saying but yeah we couldn’t ever get the sub. thats why we had to use office staff (who tried really hard, seriously, kudos to them) and even teachers from another school to make ratio. and juggle classes etc.

and parents kept sending sick kids to school! i get it, i really do, but even so, pleeeease keep your sick kids at home... I know you can’t keep them home for every runny nose or cough, but when they’re so congested they can’t breathe while napping etc then it’s really too much...

We had a kid who was coughing and coughing but her mom insisted she was fine and the next day sad “i went to the doctor and he said she’s fine too and she never coughed at home.” But that very day not only did the kid cough a lot, she even vomited at lunch. So we sent her home, but guess what, mom still tried to bring her in the next day. I don’t get iiiiiit. We couldn’t send her home but my boss was very persuasive and did manage to convince mom to keep her home that day. Of course, she came the next day :P but she seemed a lot better so.

Main thing for me was just being so tired. I just couldn’t get a break, I was moving nonstop. I am on my feet all day on normal days and this was even more than that. On Thurs I almost cried because I was supposed to have 15 min in the morning and it was gone. But we got less kids in the morning that day so I was able to sneak away thanks to my coworker since we were still in ratio without me. I didn’t take a break lol, I was still playing catch up.

really all I wanted to do every day was lie down and nap with the kids lol. I would get home and have no energy to do anything. Fell asleep with the lights on three times.

Then on Fri, after such a week, my train line went down RIGHT at rush hour ;_; usually this clears up after a short time, but it’s plenty long enough for tonsssss of people to amass waiting and waiting. Unfortunately for me, there is only one train that goes to my town so I can’t even transfer to a different line. If the train had stayed down I’d have had to take a taxi (expensive!) or figure out if there’s a bus route (no idea, I was still several train stops away from my town). BF said I could crash at his but I would have had no clothes or anything...

The train did get going again, but only after almost an hour. Then if you’ve ever seen those videos of people in Tokyo cramming on the trains and getting pushed on by other passengers/train staff... well that’s what happened then xD Osaka is very busy, especially my train line, and in rush hour I’m used to being crushed. But this was waaay more than usual. More like Tokyo I think based on the few times I’ve been on the train there. You didn’t even need to hold onto the strap because there were too many people to fall over x’D

But then! lo and behold, after a few stops a seat opened up right in front of me. It was miraculous. I actually got to sit after being on my feet all day at work + standing on the platform for an hour waiting for the train x’D I sat for seven whole minutes hahahaha

finally got home and my whole body hurrrrrt

still hurt this morning too... but I had a funny feeling... went and checked YEPPP, I’m on my period. Sometimes it’s not bad but this is one of those “someone is punching me in the uterus” weeks. The pain and bloating usually goes away after a day or two at least.

At least I got to sleep and I feel slightly more human again. Ordered uber eats for dinner bc I was determined not to go out at all today. The poor guy got lost though x’D

Tues Mar 21 Abs and shopping. I went home after work to get my car so that I could drive to trainings the next two days, but went out to Target as soon as I got home, cause duh. Stupid idea to try on like real clothes tho, my self-conscious ass was like ohhhhh no way you need to tighten up those saddle bags and that back fat before you get any of this. So. I got a crop sweatshirt and athletic leggings, felt bad about myself but hadn’t had dinner, so I went to Wawa. Woof.

Wed Mar 22 Run on the trail after this horrific training class in which I was literally the only student for an all day session. And I had to go back the next day 😩 went to Marshall’s before my run to see if I could find any cold weather gear bc I only had my sweatshirt, gloves, wool earwarmers, and thin leggings. Didn’t find any of that, but got those AMAZING NEON PINK LEGGINGS IN THAT ONE PICTURE and some other ones too. You know me, can’t stay away from that athleisure ish.

It was hella freezing and took me so long to warm up once I started on the trail. Fortunately it was so picturesque and my music was bangin so. I survived.

Thurs Mar 23 6 x 200m sprints on the trail. Bless up, convinced my instructor to finish early bc tbh he was not really all that helpful once I started following the book that was included, so I went to the mall and got some more athleisure (deh), cheap sunglasses, athletic ear warmers for $.50 each, a VERY cute lightweight rain jacket, and (!!!!!) these black leather slip-on sneakers I’ve been looking for for like 6 months. I just caved and got the name brand ones but stILl omg I’m so excited about them I finally found them.

Started the sprints in the cotton leggins I was wearing, then after like maybe 9 or 10 strides I was like oh FUCk no they suddenly lost all their elasticity and I was having to pull them up for my life. So after completely embarrassing myself hoisting those mothereffers up for my first sprint, I jumped in the car and changed into spandex pants, then zoomed back to the trail start and actually did my workout. Good thing my house is only 8 minutes away from that part of the trail.

I think I may have mis-read what my Nike app was telling me to do, but I’m pretty sure it said to do 6 x 200m sprints with 4:45 min in between. So that’s essentially what I did, I sprinted for the 200m and ran / jogged in between. Although the app only recorded the distance for the sprints, I wanna say I did a little more than the day before, since I went further on the trail. I hate that you can’t go back and check what it told you to do; you only see how you actually ran according to the app. Lame af. Though I was proud, I increased my sprint speed at almost every length except the 3rd.

Fri Mar 24 No real workout here, since I had to leave work early to take the train back to le Nova for Palooza. I scarfed down a Snap pizza (the classic spot) right before the show, and somehow stayed away from the dangers of late night college food. Though I did get all my steps in my showing one of our friends’ home friend around campus, and apparently that little tour counted for a nice brisk walk. Obvi the Snovas killed it, as a great opener for what my friends and I dubbed AcaWeekend. Saturday they’d be competing at ICCA regional semifinals #pitchperfect for the first time ever, which was so exciting. Palooza the day before was just their warmup, but fortunately we got to see two new songs from them. It kinda sucked for them though bc they went first out of the seven groups and the sound guys always need a few groups to warm up before they actually refine the balance, and they just sounded muddled. Womp. Oh well. Everyone knows they’re/we’re the best anyway. Proud alum.

Sat Mar 25 Run in the morning before the day’s festivities. This was a quick workout before most of the humans who stayed in my apartment became humans, a brief mile ish to the waterfront and back. I realized I’d been wearing a blueish shirt and black leggings in literally all of my pics lately so I spiced it up with these fun stripey ones. Lol.

We adventured to brunch, where I had a yummy spinach and goat cheese salad with fig dressing, and wandered around the city for the afternoon before we had to head to semis. I splurged on Hunger Burger at RTM because I told myself that this was my indulgence for the weekend, and I wasn’t going to be drinking anymore for the next few months (it’s not like I do it that often anyway, I just want to try it to see how it helps my training/weight loss, if at all), so I got a specialty thin mint shake. Woops. Honestly, it was so worth it though, and I didn’t even end up eating most of the fries anyway, so it wasn’t the worst I could’ve done.

At semis, there were literally so many good groups and we were all like oh shit how are they going to stack up?? But Snovas SLAYED even better than they did last time and ENDED UP IN THIRD PLACE WHICH IS THE CRAZIEST BEST HONOR WE’VE EVER GOTTEN AND IT’S JUST SO COOL!!!!! A cappella is the shit, guys, I swear. I’m so proud of those kiddos, and they get to submit a wildcard video for a chance at Finals in NYC which is like legitimately insane. They’re somewhere in the top 18-27 groups in the country right now, and coming from a school where we legit don’t have music majors and a joke of a music activities staff / support, this coulD NOT be cooler. They murdered it. And so did all the other groups at semis, like damn. We weren’t even sure anything was gonna happen for them, but they clearly did some things right. Ugh so obvi we celebrated when we got back to Philly, going to a few bars and ending up at Frankford, where we got some amazing soft pretzels and other snacks. Best day ever.

Sun Mar 26 Long ish run and relaxing. Got up and was worried about the weather forecast for Monday because I was supposed to be doing my long run for next week then, and it was going to be torrentially downpouring all day, so I was hoping to switch my days because the weather was decent enough that I could’ve done it on Sunday. But then I updated my app and A, it changed my schedule for this week anyway, and B, I remember I could’ve moved it anyway if I wanted to. So instead I went and did that 5K Sunday challenge thing that it introduced. And I ran back from there, so it actually was closer to the 5 miles I had wanted to do anyway. So ya.

I felt a little subconscious in these leggings because, though they are a spectacularly bright and amazing color, they also show my cellulite on the back of my legs… but I thought, fuck it, people will see me, and if they give me a look, I’ll just push harder and show them that cellulite means nothing if you’re fast and capable and strong. So. I used it to empower me, I guess.

Spent the rest of the day relaxing and watching ICCA videos, still hyped up on the Snovas victory. Legit it’s still coming to me in waves, it’s actually incredible.

Mon Mar 27 Full body circuit and a benchmark run. Work is starting to bore me so much lol on Monday I think I may have done approximately 2 work related things all day, otherwise I was just distracted. I decided to do a NTC workout and then my benchmark, so I chose Body Flexor 2.0, which worked a lot of different areas and was pretty fun. Then I ran on the treadmill for my benchmark for the first time, which was weird knowing my exact speed at certain times and being able to force myself to a certain pace. If I have to do it that way again, next time I’ll just cover the numbers and just focus on how it feels to push hard. The picture up there is me literally dying because of how sweaty I was. Plus fun leggings from Marshall’s.

Tues Mar 28 Abs / some arms, plus 20 minutes on the elliptical. I was an idiot today, and not only forgot a hair tie after my shower, but I left my phone at home, which I realized too late in the elevator on the way to work. Nice. So I had to go without both all day, though Kelly let me borrow a hair tie so I could work out thank GoD cause I was looking at using a legit rubber band, which would’ve been awful. The moves I chose for abs today ended up also working my arms a lot, which was nice to combo them. Because I didn’t have my phone, I just kind of had to make up my elliptical workout, which was meh but whatever. Next time I’ll be prepared. That’s definitely not my favorite type of cardio anyway.

Tonight I made these AMAZING baked zucchini fries, I probably could’ve eaten like 90 million in one sitting they were so crunchy and good. My sweet potato fries didn’t turn out so good (I actually burned the shit out of them, but I’m going to attempt to eat them tomorrow for lunch anyway 🙃) but I’m happy I’m trying new things in the kitchen, even if it’s taking me like 3 hours each time lolol.

I’m down a few pounds from last week, though, which is kind of nice! A little affirmation after working hard every day.

this is an attempt to make sense of the timing of the alfred series of events. since it’s been so unremittingly awful and i’d really like to track it from the beginning.

another iffy moment was that alfred was out both thurs and fri

zachary started stressing out around this time also

my team was all set with planning and so on but theirs was much less settled in any kind of real way

we planned our schedule, we sent it to zachary, zachary passed it on to alfred

overheard alfred say on a remote call with zachary and matthew that they had to “be careful” copying what ada cohort was doing

alfred still seemed obsessed with the idea of collaboration

Mar 27 - Apr 2 – week 1

student from alfred’s class asked on the first day to be switched to our class, which sort of immediately set the tone for the rest of the course. said she liked our vibe better and liked samuel’s teaching style.

samuel & i discussed it some on tues

samuel: But, it was very validating in a way to see that our fears that we share were picked up on after we literally just said a 5 minute hello. We have an awesome team and it just sucks that I think we all basically refuse to work with the other side.

me: & i have some thoughts abt the other thing as well (we can discuss) but i think it boils down to, our definition of working together & theirs are pretty different (wrt the time involvement required, the purpose behind collaboration, etc.). i’d be fine to work with them if it was on our terms but idt it would be

alfred mentions on tues that he’d like to meet more frequently, sets up a meeting for wed. samuel is not into the idea as one of the things samuel was hoping for from the course was less time in meetings

samuel very stressed wed for no particular reason

strong talk with samuel on tues or wed about him not taking on too much. eventually did have an effect

Wed meeting with other team to discuss possibility of collaboration. consensus seemed to be one lecture from us over to them and a couple of morning exercises.

thurs morning, alfred says ‘that’s not what i agreed to’ when it clearly was what he had agreed to

alfred: Hey samuel, we’ll get back to you. I want to see how we can all contribute to this for both cohorts. In the meantime can you guys send us the timeslots that we can key into our course tracker for the guest lectures. I need this asap, as I will have to share this with various parties.

samuel: alfred, this is not what we discussed yesterday. I thought we were going to let unit one take it’s course and have j do the planning lesson. And then we’d take a look at unit 2 soon.

matthew: I know we discussed both options and i think the agreement was that for Unit 1 we would begin to cross pollinate with morning exercises for now and for Unit 2 we would discuss where instructors could find opportunities to reteach topics as that approach worked really well last time around

alfred: That’s not what I agreed to. The expectation is to share on all units. For example, if the wire framing is happening In unit 1, I want it to be done in unit 1 and any other lessons that we can all benefit from.

samuel: Yes I agree with matthew, morning exercises and he wireframing.

i taught thurs all day, then went out for drinks with the team, then met with matthew to discuss how i’d done the css lecture, then hung out with friend for a couple of hours

thurs during lunch had walk in the park with samuel where he talked a lot about the situation with alfred. notable: “I have to not lose my cool. …. how do i do that????”

thurs night samuel has the realization that he’s trying to do too much & needs to delegate more, irina & i rejoice. it’s a momentous and great occasion.

during friday internal meeting samuel metnions that he thinks what alfred is doing to him is gaslighting. irina and i sit in the back of the classroom after lunch and nod with strong emphasis along to a psychology today article on gaslighting.

we all four go out for drinks and talk some shit and it’s good.

Apr 3 - 9 – week 2

talked with calvin & lev for about half an hour after the building closed. theyve noticed that alfred is never around and doesn’t help his students, and that zachary looks totally miserable a lot of the time

zachary is miserable for most of the week, we get lunch on monday and discuss. alfred is reading over his shoulder with messages and shit, sees him trying to send a message to chris about the situation, tells zachary that he should go to him (alfred) first with those types of concerns

i find out that alfred & matthew aren’t grading any homeworks, theyre letting zachary do all of it. and having calvin & lev help out. since they have two instructors compared to one IA this really is not how the work load should balance out

i gave a strong talk about not copying about homework

one of the higher-ups asks me to mentor one of the students in alfred’s class. “maybe she’ll lighten up on matthew and alfred if she gets to talk to J more often” is what i gather the reasoning is.

somewhere in here i have a weird meeting with alfred and zachary for a couple hours to discuss the saturn homework. originally it was meant to be just zachary & i but alfred decided he wanted to sit in and follow along.

becoming clearer and clearer that alfred’s goal is not “help out the students” but “do as little work as possible”.

at some point in this week also i say something along the lines of “we would be happy to collaborate if it were on our terms but it won’t be on our terms so we can’t.” samuel thinks this is extremely correct and mentions the term “rules of engagement”

Apr 10 - 16 – week 3

Tues drama: irina teaches in other classroom, is left on her own to handle unfamiliar students. samuel righteously furious

samuel: Hey fellow instructors/IAs. One of my class’s IAs gave a lecture in your class today. Excellent. While I’m fully confident that she was able to handle it on her own 100%, without a doubt, I’m also very annoyed that she was left completely alone during that lecture. As in, she didn’t even have an IA there in case she needed help during a lab. Moving forward I want to be 100% clear. Under no circumstances will that happen again. I really want everyone’s lives to be less stressful during units 2, 3, and 4, but I’ve made it a point that in my class, I, as an IL, am present for every moment of every lecture. Which is to say, if my amazing colleagues are not afforded the same consideration in your class, they will no longer be guest lecturing there. And this is not because they are IAs. When I, as an IL, am lecturing, I have back-up. So they, deserve it. that scenario honestly boggles my damn mind… as if we didnt insist that IAs were present during our lectures….

matthew: we only meant to step out for few minutes to finalize the project prompt which we needed to deliver immediately after the afternoon lectures and it took a bit longer than expected. That being said I do agree that IA’s should have support at this stage during their lectures and we will make sure that one of our team remains behind to support them…

alfred: Also, a couple of house rules: Lets make sure proper communication and behavior is practiced on this channel. Be respectful and treat individuals the way you would want to be treated. If there are any concerns/confusion, feel free to reach out, but use your judgement on best course of action and tone. Let’s make this pleasant..

Weather permitting, the Sky Divers will jump onto the course Friday May 3 at 10:00 followed by an 18 hole scramble. If you have no plans, come on up and enjoy some lunch and watch them jump. It’s not every day you get to see people jump out of a perfectly good airplane. Really cool to watch.

May 6th - September 21st, 2018

Okay, this was my first big fuck up in keeping this journal. From May 6th all the way to September 21st, I failed to write anything.

Yeah... so I guess I’ll... try to recap 5 months of my life here?

Well, first, I did end up surviving my finals. That’s honestly what caused me to stop in the first place. I kept saying “tomorrow” or “Monday.” As you can guess, that turned into “next week” and then “next month.” And then just... not at all.

I started second module at CBD. We actually got to scan the first day! It was a bit scary at first, tbh, because 6 out of 25 students flunked out after finals (and one transferred to another class).

I suddenly felt kinda... well, like a fake.  A fraud.  An imposter. I felt others deserved to be in my place instead. I tried to throw myself head first into my studies to distract myself. That didn’t go so smoothly.

The schedule changed, and it was one class four days a week, one other class on Friday’s. Friday’s “Fundamentals of Sonography,” was easy. Mon - Thurs, though... “Ultrasound Physics” was just a pure, living hell. I thought I’d be done with physics after last module. Far, far from it it seems.

Long, loooong story short, I did my fucking best. After nearly 3 months of struggling, I realized that I just couldn’t keep it up. It hurt; it hurt SO bad, but I ultimately, more or less, came to terms with it and resigned.

I think it may have been one of the hardest decisions of my life.

I was at a complete loss of what to do with myself. I left my scrubs out for 3 weeks before I was able to suck it up and put them away.

I’ll miss Richard, with his humor. I’ll miss Sendy, and the coffee breaks we’d take together. I’ll miss... everyone, really. We weren’t really friends, but they were my peers. And ever since, I’ve been so very alone.

About a month after I dropped out, Mikey called and said he was homeless, again. Lo and I discussed it, and after driving home to him that this would be temporary, we had him come over. He helped with cleaning the house in return for food and shelter. He stayed on our couch for one whole week, in which time he and his uncle were able to settle things between them.

Not but a couple days later (we’re in mid-August now), Ann, Tammy, and Zac all came out to visit. We swam in the pool, had a BBQ (Zac cooked for us!), and ate at Slurpin’ Ramen Bar, but tbh, most of the week we just sat around watching Criminal Minds (which I’ve since grown addicted to).

I’d lie on the floor, Tammy knit in the rocker, Zac chilled on the couch with his phone, and Ann worked on her art. I felt peaceful and at ease when they were here.

Lo, unfortunately, could only see them in the evenings, and had class after work Tuesday and Thursday. They were a bit bummed that they couldn’t hang out more.

Anyways, after they left I was ultimately back at square one school/career-wise. I really... have no idea what to do. I’ve done so much research, and I can’t find anything I’d realistically be able to do and pays decently enough.

So many, many hours upon days, just straight searching. I feel like I’m just going in circles. Just... what’s wrong with me? Why can’t I do this?? Every other normal person goes to school and gets a job, but not me.  Why?

I feel so lost. What am I supposed to be doing? What should I be doing?

I stopped writing here and I only regret it. Now how am I going to fill these blank pages? All these difficult and beautiful and hopeless days of my life - gone.

Week-End Update: January's Almost a Wrap

Geez, it seems like it was just yesterday that we were mourning the end of the holidays, but we’re already in the last few days of the first month of 2017 already. It was a fun week where we got to see some old friends and make some new ones.

Sweet little Addie, who came to us in a cast and healing from a broken leg, was finally ready for adoption and happily became a little sister to TLC alumnus Lola FKA Lois. She’s not the only one who celebrated a gotcha day this week, Amber, Blitzen (now Maulik), Boston, Copper, Duke, Jade & Tink, Jill, Laddie & Laurie were also adopted!

Back in September, our baby was in our wedding and he was PERFECT! We also did a DNA test on him (cheek swab from Mars Vet Clinic purchased through Amazon) Turns out our little guy is half Beagle, and part American Staffordshire! Along with a small mix of other breeds from different groups. It definitely explains al of his behaviors.

We changed Moe’s name into Moemoe. It sounds cuter!

Moemoe is such a great boy, 8 month old and grows up to 53 lb now.

He is very smart, has learnt many tricks like sit, down, up, stand, shake hands, high five and even fake death.

He adds a lot of happiness and laughter to me and my husband. We thank your team for bringing him to our family.

Dawn, now Maia, has adjusted beautifully! She and Raven are becoming better friends each day and Raven seems to be enjoying (or maybe just tolerating) Maia’s playful puppy behavior. We see lots of wagging tails from both of them when they interact.

Life feels normal with him here! I almost forgot he’s so new to us. Although our day isn’t normal with the added bit of excitement and extra love/joy. Wes has made so many comments like “our dog is so mellow, aww mama I love our dog, he’s so sweet, he’s so funny, he can’t stop tickling me”, he has really taken to using commands and learning to be an alpha dog. It helps that he’s more of an alpha person than I am. And he loves having jobs.

I let Wes even hold the leash a little bit today-much earlier than I expected. But Gus really is so mellow and while he’s active he doesn’t seem to lurch.

Last night he got right into the swing-he laid by my feet while I cooked. This is good-I spend A LOT of time in the kitchen! He goes into his crate on his own. He knows where his nest is! Right now he’s asleep on the rug in the parlour while I spin yarn to knit up items for our next baby. I’m having a lovely evening with my little companion by my feet!

All has been going very Well! She is settling in nicely. The only think she barked at so far was the ice cream container on the counter. 🙂

Her first visit to the vet is this Saturday. She seems to know some commands and learns quickly. Thank you for allowing her into our family.

Ziggy (f/k/a Theodore of the Chipmunk pups) has made such a positive impact on our lives. We take him everywhere we travel from the shore to the mountains and even New York City. He loves everyone and every pet he meets, and we are so thankful for the love that he gives us everyday. Thank you so much to the entire team at TLC Rescue for bringing us together.

I have attached a photo of Ziggy watching the Chipmunk Pups video from TLC Rescue’s YouTube page. As you can see, Ziggy is ready to jump into the television and play with his brother Alvin and sister Eleanor. It is obvious that he misses them so much. Maybe he will reunite with them at a future TLC event…

Gidget’s DNA test came back and we thought everyone would be interested in what she would be. According to the wisdom panel she has four primary breeds in addition to “mixed breed”.

We renamed him Gunner. Gunner is doing well. He loves playing with the kids and running in the back yard. He had his first visit to the vet, everything looked good. He just needed to be dewormed again. Our vet recommended getting him neutered at 1 year of age since he is going to be a big boy. Other wise he is doing great sleeping the whole night in his crate.

Happy has been renamed Kimo (after our favorite Philadelphia flyers player). He is thriving and seems to be enjoying every minute of his new home. He had his first visit with his new vet on Thur 1/19. He is growing so fast, was 20lbs at his appointment. He will be going back for shots on Feb 3rd, and once more a month after that. At that last appointment for shots we will also be doing his pre-surgery check and then scheduling to have him neutered.

We are looking into 2 local puppy kindergarten classes and will be scheduling that soon since he is 10wks old now. I am confident he will do well with that, as he has been crate and potty training great and is also starting to learn to sit when told.

It’s crazy how much he has learned and changed in 2 weeks! Thank you again for such an amazing dog…he has brought so much joy and love to our family

Kiefer (we changed the spelling), is doing awesome! He is 26 pounds and is a very mild tempered dog so far. He loves walks around the neighborhood and has met many other dogs! He sleeps through the night and goes potty outside. He is a very smart dog and is already listening (for the most part). He sits, goes potty, down, wait, come and shakes hands. The vet says he is going well. The only issue we have had so far is ticks, but we put medicine on him and things seem to be good. Oh and he loves sticks!”

    We also received a nice pictures of Lexi Rose, Bear FKA Laker & Belle FKA Lydia, and Garth (Gaby’s Shep-Hound litter from September 2015) that were posted on FB and had a visit from Dory at today’s meet & greet!
