oooouuuuu you KNOW merthur fight like them toxic couples that just love to argue. Merlin would come into arthur’s chambers, stop, look around, look at him, then go “why was george in here?” And arthur would roll his eyes and say something about him needing a competent servant every once in a while so his chambers don’t grow fungus or whatever and then they’d just go back and forth but their point would change every minute. Like in the beginning merlin is arguing that he’s a perfect servant and arthur is arguing that merlin never gets anything done, the next merlin is saying that if arthur really wants that then he should just keep george and fire merlin and arthur is like “??? wtf no ur not leaving me” and argues that merlin is being ridiculous.

Merlin storms off and sends george in to clean and arthur is just like “fine! Yeah! I would rather have george as my servant!” And merlin storms in like “wow so I’m just replaceable like that huh?!” And it’s just back and forth back and forth back and forth and poor george is just trying to do his job he didn’t want to get pulled into all this. Anyways, merlin is waiting for arthur to cave and switch his argument but he doesn’t so merlin starts ordering george to leave (EVEN THO HE BROUGHT GEORGE HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE-) and arthur tells george to stay. Merlin orders him to leave. Arthur orders him to stay. For some reason, merlin’s orders have the same weight and authority behind them as the king’s…..anyways-

Merlin is still waiting for arthur to switch up and say he would rather keep merlin but he doesnt so merlin just goes “fine. keep him then.” And goes to walk out but arthur grabs his arm and orders george to leave (he leaves with extraordinary haste and refuses to be within fifty feet of either merlin or the king for the next week) then pulls merlin towards him and is like “don’t be stupid. You’re my servant not him.” And merlin just huffs and puffs until arthur looks away and then he’s giggling and twirling his hair OOOOUUUUUU THEY THRIVE OFF THE TOXICITY IM TELLING YOU LISTEN TO ME IM RIGHT-

I know its so wildly accepted in fandom that its tantamount sacrilegious to suggest otherwise. but. At least personality wise, long hair Techno doesn't make much sense for me? Like maybe in a 'ugh I can't be bothered to get my hair cut so frequently' way, but then I just feel like he'd lop it off himself with a sword into a choppy mess. Partially because having long hair in battle causes problems, but also because I just can't see him going through the effort of taking care of it. At the very least I feel like he'd have lots of tangles or only bother braiding it every month and just letting it stay for far longer than he should.

And like. I say this as someone who deeply loves long hair Techno designs! Like fr that's that design is part of the reason I feel okay having long hair as an enby. I love drawing fashionable Techno too, but in my heart of hearts I just cannot realistically see this man as wearing anything but the closest shirt in his drawer and whatever haircut isn't a hassle to deal with. Maccready did not need the sadboy deadwife backstory at all but in my mind the idea of his wife being the same lucy from little lamplight is like kind of genius actually. They're both around the same age and got out of lamplight around a simmilar time and the idea of them finding comfort in being the only thing familliar to the other in a huge wasteland thats unkind to everybody is like. DO YOU GET ME. AND THE FACT THAT FROM THE AGES OF 16 (when they left lamplight) TO 22 THEY MANAGED TO SOMEHOW HAVE A KID WHO MANAGED TO GROW OLD ENOUGH TO PLAY IN A BACKYARD BY HIMSELF (im guessing atleast like 2-3 years old i doubt he was unattended but the way maccready says it its like yeah he was just playing one second and suddenly hes randomly sick idk tangent over back to my main point) BEFORE LUCY EVENTUALLY DIES (brutally. dude i don't really care if people ship aroace characters just please acknowledge that they're aro and/or ace. like,, aro and ace people still can and do enter into relationships of various types at times and not every aro or ace person completely lacks attraction anyway and some date even if they do, so like, ship them if thats what you want but please just be respectful.

just acknowledge that the character is aro and/or ace. do some research about what that might mean for them if you need to. treat those characters in a way that respects their identities and doesn't completely brush them aside.

im just tired. we can be in relationships. we can not be in relationships. we are still aros and aces. dont try and erase what little representation we get.

i would like to note that i see things in this way because i have never seen a 'professional' writer (like non-fanfic or not a small online creator) specify where an aro/ace character sits on those spectrums or how they actually view relationships of any type. i've also never seen any 'professional' writer's characters get to explore or express that part of themselves enough in their stories to give much better an understanding than just "not really interested in sex or romance".

if a more specific understanding of a character was provided and it meant that that character wouldn't be involved in romantic and/or sexual relationships or was repulsed by them than yeah, I wouldn't want people shipping them at all but i dont think i've ever seen that so thats not what this is about.

I dont know. I dont really understand this obsession with avoiding sexual or traumatic topics. Like people tend to have an idea of how conversations are supposed to go and you "ruin it" by changing the pace to something like that.

I always found weddings embarrassing for that reason because it seems the more entitled you feel to a good time and how everything "needs to be perfect" the more embarrassing it is and the more likely it is to go wrong. Does he respect her or not and also like it doesn’t make sense for him to look down on her for being a girl cuz he literally has never not been led by a girl leader during his time in sees and Mitsuru in particular really has her shit together when it comes to being responsible and a good fighter and she’s always known the most about Tartarus

It’s also like. Idk maybe its just me I’m not a girl so FUCK IF I KNOW but to me the appeal of romancing Shinji is the fact that he’s sweet and sensitive and gentle and has respect for you despite the fact that he acts all scary. That’s like, what made me like this character in the first place.
