Gotten Scarred: Lots of scars. Notable ones include: claw marks across the back from a demon attack in their teens, a nasty cut to the chest from a templar (does not remember either of these events happening, probably for the best), and most recently they got their face blown up from busting an artifact whilst veil jumping. The explosion left them mostly blind and deaf on the right side.

Had a Broken Heart: Oof yeah. The first (and only time before VG) they fell in deep romantic love with someone it ended pretty disastrously. He was pretty depressed/never had a committed, long-term relationship and his partner had some bad relationships in the past and was starting to see signs that things were turning bad. Rook tried the old "let's get engaged! That'll solve all our problems" trick, which only served as a temporary solution to their problems before they broke up. To be fair, neither of them meant to hurt the other, they were both just young and stupid. But the whole situation severely fucked up Rook's perception of themselves/their ability to be in a relationship and he carries that with him into veilguard.

Trustworthy: Very much so. They wouldn't believe it about themselves but they work hard to be somebody others can rely on.

FAMILY:

Siblings: A sister. 4 years younger. Lives with their parents in a Dalish clan in the South. Typical sibling dynamics with Rook taking a more protective role with her.

Parents: Both alive. Had a pretty good relationship with Rook before he got a bad case of trauma-induced Forget My Whole Life. They were proud of the fact that he was a mage and wanted/expected greatness from him. On Rook's side, they tried their hardest to live up to those expectations while still with their clan. Most of the time they found pleasure and purpose in their role, but did sometimes wish their was less pressure on them to succeed. Overall though, they all loved each other deeply and Rook's parents were gutted when he went missing(presumed dead)

Children: Never gave it much thought. If they did end up having children it would probably be an oops baby

Pets: Befriended a spider that made a web in their window after Bad Breakup (they were very lonely and the spider kept the bug population low). They later adopt the tracker nug, Gus from the veil jumpers (it's a dream come true for Rook)

You can only get the Dead End in Day 4 by staying at Ren's apartment — the rest of your choices before that don't matter. I'd also pay closer attention to the black smoke and Ren's reaction towards it!

Ren disappears from the home screen because he promised to help the player out (and stop them from getting the Dead End again). Try replaying the game again from the beginning for a surprise!

"Unsent Memories" was another visual novel (initially being written by @10chimes / @unsentmemory, though the project has since been dropped and handed back to me /pos) and is set in the same universe as 14 Days With You. Its storyline and characters are completely separate from 14DWY, so you don't have to worry about them while playing 14DWY.

I find it a bit cute knowing they start out as crazy and then slowly settle into something calmer and relatively healthier after learning to adapt to each other's lust-turned-love. [Stanley did it first but hey :3]

I know we mostly only get little hints of them throughout, but I really loved this interaction between these two? Like. I already talked about it from Dan Heng's side over here. But! I'm dying over this part about Boothill, and just how much he trusts and feels he can rely on Dan Heng!!

Because when we first arrive on Penacony, March 7th and the Trailblazer are confused about the check in details. But Dan Heng caught on immediately.

It's stated multiple times in multiple ways: Galaxy Rangers generally work alone. Boothill is helping out Rappa because he owes her a favor, and shortly afterwards, he returns to his own Hunt. He coordinates with Robin and March 7th because he comes across them by happenstance. Dan Heng is the only person that Boothill purposely reaches out to, and he does it in a way that only Dan Heng would figure out.

And it works! Even though they aren't able to actually contact each other, Boothill's secret note left for Dan Heng is the first sign to him that something is amiss in Penacony, and to stay on guard. And it's only when Rappa says she's with Boothill that Dan Heng decides to truly trust her and lend her a hand.

Without the Nameless' aid, the Galaxy Rangers probably wouldn't have gotten nearly as far as they did. It was a group project. It took the combined effort of a lot of people. But it started here with these two! And even without being able to see or speak to each other, Boothill and Dan Heng somehow still manage to work together and make all of this happen! Off nothing but their belief in each other alone!!

When something big is going down, there is no one Boothill wants on his side more than Dan Heng, and that's just so!! SO!!! OUGH

On Isolde and Many Doors (and One Key)

Thinking about Isolde and how she feels like she is constantly trapped in a small cramped room full of 1 million doors. Each door represents a presence that haunts her, an identity that lives inside her that calls to her from beyond the grave, a new mask to dawn.

If every person in the world were to have a room, most would have just one door, their own. But not Isolde.

Isolde feels like an empty vessel who is only there to serve as a point of entry for other people and their spirits. She has been forced to become so repressed by her environment, upbringing, and her nature as a medium that she finds it easy to forget herself. Her “self” is not someone she has ever been allowed to know.

The room grows increasingly smaller, claustrophobic and strangling her with pressure as the amount of doorways in it only increase, every new person she meets a new doorway she is plagued with, a new voyeur who has granted themselves full access to her life and her body. Something she is now willing to let them do. It is easier that way. Easier to let someone else command her vessel, something that never solely belonged to her to begin with. An escape from all the pressure, the expectations, the perfection demanded from her. It is something she should do. The duty of someone like her. Something to hide her wretched face from view, to give the people what they want, to uphold her family’s legacy. A performance that was never allowed to end. Each new door lead right back to that.

The only exception is Kakania. The only person Isolde believes has ever really seen her as more than a host for other identities or something to mold into shape, prop up as a set piece. A perfect lady. The star of Vienna. A tragic heroine. A dangerous hysteric witch. A curse manifested. The only one who was ever interested in finding Isolde’s door and that door alone. When she is with Kakania, a new door does not appear in that ever shrinking empty room, although at first she expects it to. For the first time she meets someone and is not greeted with a new ghost to haunt her. Not a door. But a key. A key that Isolde knows can unlock her own door, even when she herself cannot find it.

the tfw dynamics with jack are so interesting to me because like. the most destiel “proof” (so to say) we get is from the concept that jack has of dean being his dad. and this stems from cas being his dad, and whatever their relationship is just being so horribly obvious that jack assumes they’re together and treats dean like a father figure.

and yet!! the kicker!! is that sam and cas are jack’s parents!! dean wants nothing to do with raising that kid but still ends up roped into it somehow.

honestly i feel like mc and rays relationship would have moments of high stress. like there will be good times but also the bad times will also be there and its sometimes gonna be because of outside factors they cant control

Rambling about Floyra again because they genuinely make me ill

Kyra and Floyd’s relationship is honestly hard to describe. Not in the way that its confusing, but its so much deeper and complex than anything i write can convey ??

They’re both people who have never had the privledge of being able of being vulnerable, let alone infront others

They’re both people who have never been truly understood. Floyd being watered down to nothing but his mood swings, and Kyra her impulsiveness.

They’ve both never let many people get too close to them. People know them but they never understand.

They are the first and only people to ever and try to understand eachother. And they do, more than anyone else. If no one else can, who better than them? They understand eachother in a way much deeper than most realize.

Floyd never needed anyone. Kyra never needed anyone. Atleast not until they met eachother. Then, they realized just how much they needed the other. And they finally understood what it meant to love one person so much it hurt.

Kyra has mood swings, just as bad as Floyd. Its just shes grown to be able to hide it, but she has to fight back the urges to just get up and walk away from it all, the urges to get violent. Being a princess has trained her to always be “presentable”.

But then she meets Floyd, whos so unapologetically himself. And he shows all of the traits she has surpressed in herself for the longest time. And he does it without a care in the world.

And it makes her realize, its not a bad thing. Having emotions she cannot control does not make her a bad person.

While Kyra is still very emotionally constipated and struggles to understand her own emotions, somehow knowing Floyd helps her know herself, too.

And, Floyd makes her feel human.

Floyd has always been seen as some sort of “wild child”. Someone to be avoided. Labeled as uncontrollable and unpredictable, treated as something to fear.

But when he meets Kyra, hes treated gently for what feels like the first time. She treats him delicately, almost like glass. She calls him pretty, and looks at him with no fear, but with pure adoration. Genuine love. And he cant help but melt from it. She looked past the person many painted him as. And saw something beautiful.

For once he isnt being treated for some kind of unpredictable beast. And for once, Kyra isn’t being treated like someone who needs to be perfect all of the time.

Two people who have never been vulnerable, find themselves being fully vulnerable to eachother. Their flaws and ugly parts all bare and on display for the other to see. So clearly exposed, for the very first time.

And yet, even after all of the flaws and imperfections, they still love eachother so purely and so genuinely. Even without having to hide their issues or hold themselves back— they could be themselves, together. Unapologetically together. They looked past the surface, past all of the grime and cracks and found something beautiful only they could truly understand.

The purest form of love, and it cannot be described as only love.

They are not just lovers, but something much deeper and much more worse. They are something that can only be described as even more than platonic or romantic. Soulmates, twin flames, eachother’s other half— whatever you want to call them. They are everything and more, somehow and in some way.

They are complex, and their bond runs deeper than any bond theyve ever had before. Not many realize it, but they dont need anyone else to realize it. They know eachother and they understand eachother and thats all they need.

At the end of the day when theyre overwhelmed and tired, they know they can find home and comfort in eachother. In eachother, they found a new freedom to be vulnerable. Within eachother they found peace. A bestfriend, a lover, a favorite person, partners in crime and in life, and something even more.

Their love was slow, patient. It developed over time and only grew deeper. A sudden realization of the obvious truth. They realized, that they’ve already given their hearts to eachother. Kyra was already his, and Floyd was already hers long before they even knew it.

To be so in love that it was so natural, basically second nature to simply just give yourself away to the other. It was ridiculous but it was their truth. Before they knew it they became irreplacable parts of their lives.

“Til’ death do we part” is a lie. Because they’ll find eachother even after that. In every universe, in every world. One way or another. They were already worlds apart, seperated from eachother in this reality; and yet still they managed to find eachother even so.

Their love is pure, unapologetic. Raging, uncontainable and raw. It shines brightly, burns bigger than any fire. It is so deeply instilled in their very beings that it was hard to believe one could love another so much. They never even thought they were capable of such a thing.

But then again, they always did have a way to bring out every part of eachother, sides of themselves they never even realized they had.

I could ramble about them even more but i’ll stop myself for now … HEHEHE

Theres something about someone who’s watered down to something unpredictable and wild, seen as an uncontrollable whirlwind of emotions that is incapable or caring for anyone but themself— melt in gentle hands. Someone who is seen as “scary” go soft and letting themselves be vulnerable in someone else’s arms … its my favorite trope and u can NEVERR tear it away from me 🔥🔥

(When I said “flings” i meant when people for some reason make him some sort of flirty play boy ?? I am not kidding the amount of things ive seen of that 😭)

Antoine is TOTALLY FINE and to prove it here's some Second Chances headcanons from my and @absoluteocellibehavior's basically modern au:

1. (Inspired by @potato-lord-but-not's design) Yellow has chronic leg pain that varies in severity. Sometimes he can get through the day with just some crutches, but other days he has a wheelchair to get around. He's not a huge fan to put it lightly, but Antoine cheers him up by decorating the back of the chair. Speaking of which,

2. Antoine can paint! He's modest about it, but he does a fantastic job. He paints what he imagines the Dreamlands to look like on the chair, since Yellow misses home.

3. A favorite date spot of theirs is a local coffee shop. Antoine likes a warm chai latte; Yellow gets the most complicated custom order.

3. Antoine is incredibly sensitive about his chest, and would not let Yellow touch him there or see him shirtless for a while. Now he feels safest with Yellow sleeping lightly on his chest.

4. Both of them learn to bake with a modern oven. Yellow's the worse of the two, but he bakes cupcakes for Antoine in secret on his birthday. He burnt the first batch. Don't tell Antoine.

5. Yellow teaches Antoine how to dance.

6. Antoine's favorite spot to kiss Yellow is right on his nose where the middle of his mark is, like a little bullseye.

There are a lot of small and sweet things about these two learning what it means to love the other, but these are just a few!
