Chapter 6: “When she stopped, there was a brief silence in which Scorpius let himself merely observe this strangely mean (but not that mean) girl. Narrowing her eyes at him, Polly scrutinised his look. Maybe she could tell Scorpius was Scorpius and not Albus. Maybe she wouldn’t mind.

“I like you better today, Albus,” she decided, tucking a wayward strand of hair behind her ear. Her validation sounded like permission. “You’re still weird, but not in your usual, annoying way. You've got a soft side. Who would've guessed?”

She looked at him like he could be her friend one day, and maybe this day wasn’t so terrible after all.”

Chapter 7: “‘Isn’t there a constellation called Scorpius?” Albus asked. “Or a star or something?”

“Yes, it’s a constellation,” the Professor said, confusion evident in her raspy voice. “Why?”

“I’ve been interested in it,” Albus shrugged, scratching behind his ear. “What does it mean?”

“Well, most people now know the constellation as Scorpio, depicting the Scorpion in the Southern hemisphere.

“The interesting thing about Scorpius, in my opinion, is the heart of it. Antares. It’s the largest star at the centre of the constellation. It’s a hundred times bigger than our sun– a pulsing, red giant to the naked eye, but incredibly beautiful if you were to use a scope. Some say it’s the star that swallows all others. But that’s just a turn of phrase.”
